Janee has a very imaginative mind and will often be found alone drawing sketches of various gadgets on her book. She is often seen as a social outcast, but those that approach her and get past her shy shell will find a sweet girl that enjoys talking, listening and give advice when she feels she can, although she will rarely begin the conversation. She will rarely forget anything as her imaginative mind helps her create a memory castle.

There is an hidden side to Janee that only those closest to her may find. While her imaginative mind helps her design new gadgets and remember things, it also helps when forming plans. She can create various simulations on her head about numerous topics and calculate the percentage of success for each simulation. She likes to keep this side hidden however, for when she's actively calculating, she can't help but mumble everything that's going on her head, making her look a bit creepy when doing so.

While usually shy and afraid to speak up, Janee will do everything in her power to protect those around her, even sometimes using herself as a shield.

Janee was but four years old when she learned to read and for the following years would often be found reading whatever she could away from everyone else. It was this habit of hers that brought about her shyness for when other kids would come to her, they would often make fun of her for always reading.

Her parents however, were extremely worried about her shyness, and after speaking to a friend of the family about their daughter, they introduced her to the wonders of invoking. That friend showed up at their house once and invoked a small metal dog right in front of Janee. Her eyes lit up and she quickly ran to play with the dog. His plan had worked, and her shyness had been conquered for a bit due to this special dog. The friend then convinced the parents to send her to L'Mordryn Academy where she could learn to do such a thing and they did as such once she came of age.

She instantly joined house Machina and began her studies. She was a bright student that quickly understood all of the theory behind invoking. Practicing it however, was a different topic entirely. While she knew exactly what to do to invoke what she wanted, all of her invoked gadgets missed one very important aspect. Offensive power. For some reason, all she could invoke without an issue were protective and utility gadgets. Offensive gadgets would always dismantle themselves in front of her when she attempted to use them. Still, her other machines were often quite well designed and suited for what was needed, so she was praying that she could still pass the next exam only with these machines.

Jaqual is as wild as it can be, often playing tricks on unsuspecting victims while using his summons to ensure his success. He enjoys being surrounded by nature and will often be found just sleeping in the outdoor's grass.

Jaqual is also very protective of nature and has a profound distrust with those of house machina, thinking that they will one day ruin the nature he loves to be surrounded with.

Background | Jaqual comes from a small village near a massive forest. Ever since an early age, Jaqual's father, Thomas, a ranger that also shared Jaqual's love for nature, would often bring his son to the woods as he did his job patrolling it, along with his wolf like summon, Garrun. Garrun would often approach the animals of the forest and calm them down so that Jaqual could approach. Due to this, Jaqual made a lot of friends.

One day however, when Jaqual was patrolling the woods along with his father, Garrun picked up a scent and started running. Both Thomas and Jaqual gave chase and what they found tore Jaqual asunder. There, in a small clearing was a man, skinning the corpse of a deer while a floating metal beast payed attention to the surroundings.

Thomas quietly ordered Jaqual to stay quiet and, as if already practiced multiple times, both Thomas and Garrun started walking towards different directions around the clearing. After a few moments, Thomas showed up from one side, alerting the metal beast while Garrun, with a quick swift movement, appeared behind it and ripped it to shreds. The hunter quickly surrendered, and after digging a grave for the deer, the group brought the hunter back to the village where he was given to authorities.

This was the turning point for Jaqual and what made him decide to want to be a ranger like his father and after a few years, he joined house Bestia of L'Mordryn Academy where he learned to summon his beasts.

Appearance/Attire | Pretty average by most accounts, except for the scar on his face. He tends to wear neutral tones so as not to stand out. His scar was the result of a summoning gone wrong early in his studies.

Personality/Habits | Rubs his scar when nervous. Raoul is typical of most Bestia House members. A party animal. The exception is when people bring up his scar, or summon recklessly. He has learned from his mistakes and won’t let people repeat them.
Although he warns others not to summon recklessly, he himself still does. Partly because he wants to hurt himself because when he got his scar, two of his classmates died. Partly because he knows he can. He focuses on unorthodox summoning techniques because he knows what it’s like to fail, and wants to punish himself for his past sins.

Background | Raoul has a somewhat troubled past, but rarely shows it. Though there are hints to it. When he was a Tyro, he attempted to summon Griffin, but it didn’t work. Something else came through. Too this day, no one is really sure what it was, but it attacked the class. Scarring Raoul and killing two other students. Despite this setback, Raoul was determined to never let it happen, to him, or anyone again.
Now using questionable methods, he is trying to get a summon that is strong enough to defeat what hurt him in the first place, and summon it again. This time to kill it.
He doesn’t talk about his time from before the academy. Presumably he was froma blood family. His family unheard of in the Invoker community before Raoul caused the Incident in his first year.

She doesn't care much, barely being able to tell the difference between fancy and rough, overdressed and nude. She usually wears a wooly poncho dyed black or a green one, along with a clashing mix of simple and fancy clothes, often unkempt if not torn. One of the few things she cares about is keeping it in colors that harmonize with the time of the day and the environment she is in, for L'Mordryn this usually means dark clothes.

If you meet Sazel, you will likely know this is a girl from Bestia at first glance. Sometimes described as a tomboy, one could make the mistake of assuming Sazel is some sort of rebel against the social norms of the strict society she was born in when in truth she simply doesn't care enough to conform or dissent, she lives day to day on her whims, caring about herself and not the questions of society and philosophies.

It comes as no surprise that she is at home in the wild, she can make do without many modern comforts, even though she likes them a whole lot. She has no problem even with filthy swamps or dealing with "icky" animals such as spiders or snakes, yet she also does enjoy the cuter animals. These paradoxes are what makes some say that 'she is the grimmest of the cute and fluff club and the most cheerful of the occult club'

It has to be said she is a trickster who sees no problem in playing out of the rules if she feels like it, its eat or be eaten out there so any advantage is nice, however, she doesn't hold a grudge, if she is caught or outplayed, she won't be bitter about it but instead even think of the other person as witty and respectable. That said, this doesn't mean she goes down easily, on the contrary, she has strong willpower and even if victory is impossible she will aim to lessen her defeat and last as long as she can, thinking along the lines of 'in a world of eat or be eaten, if you can't be at the top you should aim to give the other side the indigestion of a lifetime.'

Background
One might be surprised to hear this, but Sazel was not born in some forest village at the borders of civilization but instead was born to a minor noble family, which is the source of the nicer clothes she wears sometimes in the academy.

Her family didn't make its prestige with summoning, albeit a few Phantasma and Dracona did bear her surname in the past, as such Sazel was not expected to be a mage or pressured into it, she grew initially like any normal sheltered child, but then her dreams started, were she could feel the world outside and meet its many curious beasts, and although many would chase or attack her, the dreams always felt pleasant and not like nightmares. To her parents, the result was that all of sudden their delicate daughter had started adventuring into the gardens of the state, to chase the ducks and horses around, to go into the nearby village to visit its farms.

As a traditional family of a traditional region, it took them some time to fully accept her situation, though even for them it felt somewhat cruel to curb the potential of the girl and since she was still a nice child who was nor particularly rebellious any censorship of her behavior felt unwarranted. It was a long process for them to finally decide to send her to be properly trained at L'Mordryn and it was mostly due to Sazel growing wilder and wiser about the world and the other realms, if she was to lean Ars Invocato, it was best that she did it like a proper lady among the safety and experience of the academy, not reading second-hand manuscripts or chasing the words of hermits from the woods.

She doesn't actually carry a staff around but she does dress in loose, short dresses like this. She's not fond of wearing any lengthy dresses as she felt they impede her movement and she doesn't like wearing shorts either.

Being a machine radicalist, she believes that the more machinery helps mankind, the more everyone will prosper and lead happy lives. Her goal in life is to usher in that machine civilization era, no matter what stands in the way, be it tradition, religion, or just a bunch of nature spirit-worshiping hippies.

In that aspect, you can say she is being overly arrogant and ambitious. However, unlike the kind of arrogance your typical nobles show to the commoners, she would be willing to befriend anyone happily. As long as you don't insult her beliefs, that is.

Other than that, she's a cheerful, somewhat tomboyish girl.

She has a bad habit of carelessly moving around with her short dress, resulting in her flashing her panties to the world. Corona often scolds her about this matter.

Background |
She was born in the slums of the capital. Ever since she was little, she had to live a harsh and unforgiving life. Her father left her mother once he impregnated her, and her mother soon left her as well due to her illness. So many days she had to starve, surviving by eating garbage put out by the more well-off. She even became a pickpocket and a thief once like many of her peers, but after a terrible admonishment by her then bedridden mother, where she refused to even touch all the food she had brought her thanks to them being earned from an immoral source, she never repeated it ever again.

She had to survive several more years in the slums on her own. And in those years, she picked up her skill as a mechanic, which she just had a natural knack with. It helped her a lot through those years, with her tinkering at trinkets and machines, fixing them for a price or refurbishing them to be sold.

And then, one day, she had her fated meeting with Corona. She learned about the Academy from her and she decided that she wanted to study there as well. The two then traveled together, and they were eventually accepted together through the same scholarship process. She soon realized how useful machines could be for society from her studies.

If we could mass produce them, no one would ever have to go hungry again!

The more she studied, the more she became obsessed with machinery. Her skill as a mechanic grew leaps and bounds. And she remained as close as ever with Corona, who she admired for daring to surpass her human limits through her brain transformation. Corona didn't really share her drive to revolutionize society with machines, but she shared her belief in progress, and how humanity should transcend nature instead of becoming part of it.

These days, the two always worked together in their projects.

She only possesses one single core summon which she christened as "The Castle".

Its size had grew over the years she studied in the Academy. At first, it was the size of her palm, merely a machine fish with legs. Now, it was big enough that she could take a ride on top of it without it falling over.

It grew due to her attaching and replacing its components over and over as her understanding of machinery increased, improving it by leaps and bounds, adding more and more add-ons to it. The connection between them certainly helped, as with it, she could shape the castle to fit the blueprints she had imagined. It was a feat only possible because of her deeply intimate knowledge of every single nook and corner of her summon.

The Castle now possessed cannons that it could fire at will, with an automated reload system at place. The fish mouth could open and release miniature automated planes that would attack the enemy with miniature machine guns and bombs. The mouth could also breathe fire and bite its opponent if necessary, though naturally, while doing so, it wouldn't be able to launch any planes. It could even retract its spider legs and fly itself with rockets for a short period of time.

Its most amazing ability however was the one not related to combat at all. It was the ability of processing raw materials into processed ones. It could handle all sorts of metals, wood, minerals, and even gems. Naturally, she abused this to create the parts she needed. She even used it to produce tools to be sold to other people, so that she could get extra money.

The Castle possessed a rudimentary AI. She didn't know how it came to be however, as the Castle just suddenly started talking all of a sudden one day. It could barely think on its own, but it clearly wished to be useful to its master. She had to continue ordering it around, especially in combat. At least it could distinguish between the various kinds of raw materials, took them into its body on its own using its many crane arms and process them on its own.
