The Mobius Hellacarrier is the first of its kind. Under the Galactic Treaty, S.W.O.R.D., the Skrull Empire, and Nova Corps worked with Earth-based government agency S.H.I.E.L.D. and Tony Stark for five years engineering the marvel that is Mobius, The City in the Sky. Not only does it house future hopefuls of heroism be it the next generation of Avengers, X-Men who do not wish to be confined to Charles Xavier's own academy, those seeking a purpose for something more than just crime-fighting, the floating city powered by alien tech is that place for them. It has towers as high as the Avengers tower and currently employees over seven thousand, cross-species government agents. From Nova to SWORD to military officers, those who are deployed on this great achievement of engineering are all proud to serve their respective organizations.

Though the city itself is mighty impressive, the main focus -- the reason for its existence -- is the academy rightly dubbed "Mobius Academy". It is a monstrosity of a campus that would give those Ivy League schools a run for its money. It houses several classes that heroes to be, those who either come from legacy or possess abilities that aren't a fit anywhere but the flying city of Mobius gravitate here. The campus is spacious in the sense that it has apartment buildings, multiple fields spread throughout that are generally used for outside training, and buildings that are connected to the main school building like the gymnasium. The school itself has young adults ranging from the ages of eighteen and twenty-three.

As these heroes to be will soon find out, it is not just training and learning about certain protocols that come with being a hero. At some point, they will be required to take on missions with their fellow classmates, usually ranked by difficulty: D for easy-breezy missions and S for possible life-threatening missions. Real-life experience is necessary to be a hero. An Iron Man or Captain America wasn't made overnight. Though they will have impressive abilities, using them properly will be one of many things they will learn while at Mobius Academy.

The Mobius Dorm Buildings are among the tallest buildings upon the floating city which is in large part due to the number of students that attend the academy every year. From new students to returning heroes to be, these buildings were constructed to fit the needs of all students who could customize their rooms to their liking thanks largely to the Tony Stark Dorm Foundation, which gives all new students enough money to customize their rooms until their hearts are content. For every main homeroom class of every grade, there is a different dorm building and they are led by different Mobius/hero alum who have donated their time to help groom the next age of heroes in these young adults.

Mobius Academy was different from other schools in the way it was ran. It wasn’t run by a committee, or a group of founders, or even really by its teachers. It wasn’t run by the man who bankrolled the entire flying city, or his co-leader of the Avengers… Mobius Academy was ran by an Artificial Intelligence, a joint collaboration between some of the greatest minds in the universe. Principal P.R.I.S.M. or Principal ‘Please Retaliate If Students Mutiny’ ran the school all by his lonesome.

Pris handled all the day to day operations of Mobius Academy, from selecting the teachers, to building the classes and gathering the students together for the day one introduction, like always. It was his favorite day of the year, after all: the first day of school. Principal Pris liked the first day of school, because it meant that people were going to be at Mobius!

The first day at Mobius was a special one. All the new students for the year gathered in the auditorium, where they would receive a bit of a pep talk from their principal, as well as something that they might end up finding useful during their time at the Academy.

“Welcome to Mobius Academy!” Principal Pris said toward the students from his spot behind a podium. His voice was booming and happy, and he looked like a generally joyous, older man. Sure, he was technically only born a matter of years ago, but living on the internet took a toll on one’s appearance. “It’s good to have you here, and I know I speak for all of us here when I say that we’re as happy to have you here as you are to be here.”

Like all good educators, Principal Prism liked to assume that his students were as eager to learn as he and his staff were to teach. That was, of course, rarely ever the case.

“If you’re wondering why we’ve gathered you all here, instead of letting you begin your career as heroes, good! It’s important to always wonder. Anyway, before you can even think about that, you’re going to have to graduate this esteemed academy, and earn your Hero License before you can even think about participating in something like that.”

“Here at Mobius, we break first year students into four different classes, who will work closely with a Pro Hero that has been — well, more or less — selected to work well with your class! I know in the brochure it promises missions, and missions will come, but before that can come, there are some first steps. Firstly, you’ll have to move into your dorm. You’ll have a bunkmate, randomly assigned of course — it might be coed, we don’t care about that kind of thing here — and there you’ll learn to live and work with your dorm mates, who will be your teammates, should you be assigned any missions!”

Principal Prism was nodding along as he spoke now, grinning. They would get excited now, any moment now… “You’ll also have a chance to work with a pro hero team. There will be a sports festival at the end of the semester, where we’ll watch you students put your new skills to the test, and then you’ll get contacted by a team that’s interested in taking you out on an internship!”

“Plus, Mobius Academy works closely with these pro hero teams to bring them in to give seminars and private classes of their own, where they’ll teach you things they think you need to succeed. Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of you now… you’re dismissed! Underneath your chairs, you’ll find keycards corresponding to your assigned class — Class 1A through 1D. Don’t trade the keycards. I’ll know.”

“Class 1A will be taught by Shadowcat — Kitty Pryde, on loan from the X-Men. Class 1B by War Machine. Class 1C by Wolverine. And, finally, Class 1D by Ant-Man. That’s Scott Lang, not Hank Pym. Don’t get too excited, I know. Starstruck.”

“After you’ve retrieved your keycard, head to your dormitory, and spend the rest of the night getting accompanied with your teachers, and fellow students, and whoever is sleeping on the top bunk.”

Principal Prism sighed. Another year. Another lack of excitement.

Welcome to Mobius Academy! When you get to your dormitory, please note that it’s fairly luxurious — about a four star hotel level. There’s a kitchen, and a common room. Each bedroom gets its own bathroom — only one, so you will have to share with your bunkmate. Sorry, not sorry.

Have fun, kids.

"WHOOHOO! Principal Prism!" clack clack clack "Let's go, Mobius!" clack clack clack the sound of enthusiastic cheering cut through the uncomfortable silence, punctuated by the sharp rap of Taihou 'clapping' his claws together in applause. He was happy to see the academy employ an AI as their principal and administrator, going against the stigma and stereotype of highly intelligent and advanced AI attempting to destroy all organics or take over the world. It showed the school was forward thinking, and a great place for someone like him who was trying to push the boundaries of what people are willing to accept as a hero. The next announcement got him both excited and nervous at the same time. Their teachers would be real, grade-A heroes! But the fact that he had to pick up a keycard filled him with agitation.

Looking under his seat, he saw it laying there, flat on the ground. Getting his massive claw under himself and between the legs of the seat was already difficult enough, but he was able to slide the card out from under the chair and between his feet. Over the course of the next few minutes, Taihou fumbled clumsily with both claws in an attempt to pick up the keycard. Though his father had fabricated special rubber claw-sleeves full of useful widgets for manipulating everyday objects, his father had not accounted for this particular scenario. Soon Taihou was fidgeting with his two claws, just trying to find some way to flip the card up so he could grip it properly.

At the conclusion of Principal Prism's speech, Nzige crossed her forearms in front of her, giving the Wakandan salute as a sign of respect to the faculty. As a highly advanced yet traditional culture, Wakanda venerated teachers as vital to individual growth and civilizational prosperity. However, she soon noticed that very few, if any seemed to be paying their respects, and although enthusiastic, the shouting and clapping coming from some other part of the auditorium seemed almost irreverent and disrespectful, after all, this wasn't a show meant to entertain. She reached under her chair and pulled up the card, reading 1A. "Ms. Pride," Nzige thought to herself passively, a hero who no doubt had to learn how to deal with the ethereal nature of her powers. Certainly a wonderful source of guidance.

Yet as the speech ended and students began to move and shuffle, Nzige felt the tension in the room rise as white noise slowly increased in volume; the sound of shuffling feet, the squeak of chairs sliding, students mumbling to each other. She closed her eyes, but the auditory image of the room created by echolocation lingered in her mind, preventing her from shutting out the rising intensity of stimulus. With her eyes closed, she managed to navigate her way out of the auditorium by sound, and headed straight to her dorm room, looking for a quiet place. Unlocking the door with her card, she slipped inside and leaned against a wall to catch her breath. She wanted to lay down, but she didn't want to inadvertently claim a bed before consulting her eventual roommate.

Joziah

Joziah has finally made it to Mobius, and he was excited, and terrified. Sure he was in a safe place, yet he was leaving his mentor and guardian. He was leaving his friends and now chosen family. He knew he needed to focus, if he didn't focus with something as trivial as this he wouldn't be fit to be a hero. He felt calm while in the auditorium, with the view not being on him he can be more focused on himself and setting himself in the right state of mind. 'This was definitely going to be a different experience and it will be fun, I swear, just focus and calm down'. There is a ton of sensory data just in this small area around him as multiple people are moving, shifting and just doing anything to keep themselves entertained, all while Joziah is trying to block out all of that data, it's hard, but he manages to do it and finally starts correcting himself and becoming his 'normal' self.

As the speech ends, Joziah has already became 'normal' again and has a small smile on his face just listening. Once they were released he grabbed his card and started to head towards the shuttles to get to the dorm. He was excited to meet his new class/dorm mates as they will be spending some time together it would be best to get off on the right foot. Once Joziah entered the building he began to make sure his belongings were where they should be and headed out to start greeting each of his dorm mates and teacher. After all, Jean always said how you are seen is half the fight against crime. 'And besides the most fun part of today is going to be making new friends!'

Issie

Issie had a good bit of energy stored up in him as he has been cooped up in a temporary room for almost a week now, on express orders to limit his wandering. Now he was just itching to run around, yet had to now sit through this introduction. Issie already found the key card underneath his seat and was playing with it. Floating it with his powers, spinning it on his finger, and even floating it around his head and different parts of his body as he tracks it. Anything to just get through this so he can run off and explore. It's almost time…almost…now!

As they were dismissed Issie walked calmly up 'till he was near the door, then he ran off to explore. He didn't care about meeting his dorm mates at the moment, he was more worried about seeing everything he was unable to see for a near week! Just because he had a habit of getting lost. 'Psh, I don't get lost…often…often enough to be concerned about'. That doesn't matter he can just...and he is being 'directed' to the shuttles. "Awe-some".

As Issie gets to the dormitory he finds a nice spot in the commons area to sit on the couch. Yet he sits on it the wrong way as his back is on the cushion and his legs are hanging off the top as his head is floating there a just a few inches or so off the ground. He was upset, he wanted to do anything other than just sit around and socialize. After all they were gonna be here for long enough they would all get to know each other well. Issie wanted to see this city he was denied of for the past week. 'But nooooooooooo, I now have to sit in a bigger room now. And do nothing fun. All I can do is talk to others and read a book. Look books are nice, but not when that is the few forms of entertainment you've had for a week'. Now all he is doing is staring off towards the coffee table, just bored out of his mind.

Adrith

Adrith has never liked any of these formalities. As he sits in his seat leaning back and just listening. Wishing to be anywhere else, as this is just beyond boring. Adrith knew it wasn't going to be as simple as step in and become a hero, but still! Everyone here should know what they were signing up for, to become heroes. So why are they having to sit here and listen to this speech? 'Was this what High school is like? What a drag', Was the immediate idea that came to mind when the speech continued. At least one part of speech at least interested Adrith, one of the teachers was going to be Shadow Cat, Kitty Pryde. He knew her from the stories he's heard of young heroes making a difference. He could learn a thing or two on what it is to be a hero. Wolverine as well? 'Hmm, they both seem to be good people to talk to, one would be how to control oneself while the other could help with how to be better'.

Finally, they can leave, and they weren't here for too long. Perfect. Adrith slipped his hand under his seat as he fishes the card out as he looks at it. 1-A…'that's the class of Kitty Pryde, perfect I suppose'. Adrith has some hopes for what he will learn under her. Besides that he finds this entire thing boring. He begins to head to the shuttle with a sigh and a shrug in his posture as he doesn't care about much else. Once he makes it to his dormitory, he was definitely amused by what he finds, a four star hotel? How amusing as he did find himself in less than favorable circumstances not too long ago, but to find himself in a place like this just seems too amusing.

He inspects the area for a while, just interested in the area itself as he's never been in a place so strange to him. Yet it seems this place is like any other living area, a kitchen, a living room/area, and rooms for everyone. Adrith finds a place to sit and kick up his feet as he just lays back and stares at the ceiling and starts to think. Thinking about how he should introduce himself, how he should treat others when they speak, even just how to look so he doesn't start off the wrong way. Little did he know he went back into an old habit which was to scowl and rest in a way to have his frame take up a perceivable large amount of area, making his presence well known.

Anton sat quietly in his seat observing the other students present for their orientation speech given by the Principal. There was a variety of students from all walks of life it seemed. Some were easily noticeable as children of some of the most famous heroes of earth. Others, however, seemed to be either first-generation hero’s looking to make a name for themselves. One similarity between the students was that not many seemed to be interested in most of what the principle was talking about. Most only seemed to perk up at the description of class instructors and the sports festival.

After being dismissed from the assembly Antons quickly made his way to his dorm room luckily not having to talk to many people on the way. The dorm complex was quite impressive with just about everything a person could ever need and more. There seemed to be a few people already inside and relaxing in the common room. Giving them a small polite wave he moved on towards his room.

Entering his room Anton was surprised to find it was large by his standards easily allowing two people to live in. looking to the beds he through his bag on the bottom bunk it would be best for everyone that he wasn’t on the top bunk. As he lowered himself onto the bed he let out a heavy exhausted breath. “Well guess I should get this over with and meet some new people.” He said in a somewhat defeated voice. Reaching for the door he thought “I hope they are nice people.” Before exiting his dorm and heading to the common room.

There was a speech. Blaise didn’t really listen. He heard that the class would be taught by some guy named War Machine, which was a pretty cool name, he thought it was cool that Earth let people have names like that. Though, with a name like that, he was probably a pretty intense guy. The speech ended and he saw people reaching under their chairs, so Blaise did that too and found his room keycard. He thought to himself maybe sometimes he should listen more, like he should’ve paid attention to what Dormammu said before telling him to go off to Mobius, but there were a lot of steps and details in that whole thing, and steps and details weren’t Blaise’s style.

Blaise did what felt right at the moment, and what felt right then was heading to the class 1-B common room. He figured there was more worth seeing there than his room. When he went in there someone was already chilling, sitting upside down. Blaise could dig that, never get too attached to having one absolute direction up or down. He said “Sup.” to Issie, but then focused on the TV in the corner. He started fidgeting with the controls to try and switch the inputs, but what was on the TV caught his eye. It was an episode of How’s It’s Made, chill electronic music and calm voiceover talking about how they make tennis balls. He stopped on it and said to himself “Bro, this right here, this is my kind of show.” After that he just stood there, watching the mechanical process repeat over and over again.

Alexander listened to the principal with minimal interest throughout the entrance assembly. He struggled to draw his concentration from the collar around his neck that was just a bit too tight to be comfortable. Once he realized that classes were being announced he began to pay a bit more attention to the speaker up on stage. Pulling out the card from underneath his chair he glanced at it to find out his room and then put the card in his pocket. He could check it later in a place less crowded, but Alex had somewhere he wanted to be. When the principal ended his speech Alex clapped a few times then began to walk at a brisk pace towards the doors. While he didn’t run to the dorms he obviously wasn’t taking his time either. He glanced up briefly to admire the skyscrapers around him, but he was too distracted to waste time on sightseeing. As he entered the building his class’s dorms were in he could hear a soft beep come from the collar around his neck, and Alex felt like a was taking his first breath after nearly drowning. Once Alex got into an elevator he stood in the back fiddling with one of his rings taking deep breaths and reaching out with his senses. The feeling of the metal all around comforted him and calmed his nerves. Once the elevator reached his floor he could feel his normal confidence return to him.

Alex walked by the common area straight to his room hoping to get there before his roommate. Entering the room Alex took a look around and was rather underwhelmed. While he knew he would have some control in decorating he did not like the bunk beds. Alex walked over to the bed and touched the bed frame and was thoroughly shocked. “They really wasted vibranium alloy on bed frames…..unbelievable.” Alex took a step back and held out his hand toward the bed. Since the strength of the metal was in absorbing kinetic force he would just have to separate them slowly. The sound of straining metal filled the room as the top bunk separated from the bottom and glided to the other side of the room. Alex smoothed over the edges created and wiped his hands on his pants.

“Now, time to get this over with and introduce myself.” Alex left his bag in his room and made his way to the common room where he guessed the others would be. As he entered the room he heard a voice talking about tennis balls on the tv and saw a kid upside down on the couch. Not much more than he expected considering the people who go to this school.

Lydia Creel

Lydia was listening with genuine excitement, though she seemed to be the only one. Lydia had always wanted to be a superhero, and here, surrounded by powerful fellow students, being taught by Heroes, was where she's have the best (and only, really) chance of doing that. She was powerless on her own. She couldn't even be able to stop an armed bankrobber. But here, with teammates, she could do so much more. The truth was that she needed to be part of a team to be effective at all. And she was hoping that here, she could make friends and possibly join or form their very own superhero team. Or she could be somebody's sidekick. She didn't want the fame or recognition. Just the privilege of fighting crime and people knowing that you were a Hero. That was all she wanted.

So she was eager to learn, and was smiling. The four teachers' names that were read out caused her to get more and more excited. All four of them were people she had idolized since childhood. She of course had her preferences, but she took the keycard from under her seat, and opened the envelope to discover that she was going to be taught by Scott Lang,. Not her first pick bad. She imagined his classes would at least be fun! Honestly, she couldn't actually imagine getting *taught* by Wolverine. He didn't seem the teacher type.

Lydia wondered to her dorms at a leisurely pace, and the first thing she did was check out her room. Her single suitcase was here, and the room was nice! Even though she was sharing it, it was larger and nicer than the room at her foster home, and even had an en suite. No more having to share one tiny bathroom between a large family! Lydia put her suitcase on her bed, opened it, and began to take a few things out to put in and on the bedside cabinet, before stashing the case under her bed. Wardrobe allocation would probably be something to discuss with her new roomie. Speaking of which, she should go and introduce herself. Taking one last look at her room before closing the door, Lydia headed to the 1D common room.

Gene Green

Gene was less interested in speeches. He was here because his mom wanted him to come here, to learn 'how to be a Hero' and to get training and guidance from the real deal. He could have become a Superhero without this but his mom got so emotional it scared him a little. She didn't want him 'becoming his dad'. All Gene knew about his dad is that he was a bad guy. That's all he was ever told and all he really cares to know. But this speech was going on way too long and was putting him to sleep. Hopefully the classes wouldn't be this tedious. And he was actually looking forward to the social aspect, and being surrounded by people his age who didn't find a guy with fluffy tail a little bit weird.

At the end of the speech he hadn't really been paying attention too, nobody clapped but one guy, with lobster claws. Gene blinked, and stared. He was now no longer worried about people finding his tail weird. Gene considered clapping too, but then other people might join in and Gene didn't want to take anything away from lobster hand guy. After checking his keycard, Gene was very happy he'd be taught by Wolverine. That was kinda who he had been hoping for when he heard the names. When people began leaving, Gene could not get out fast enough. He headed over to the 1C dorms and didn't even bother to check his room, heading straight for the common room.

Three Months Ago...

It was a calm morning other than a slight chill in the air but that nothing out of the ordinary. The orange sun was rising slowly and it’s glorious warm light reflected off of Manhattan’s many cold high rises. New York was being New York and in a corner apartment in the shadow of the colossal Oscorp Tower, Theo Blanchard was being a complete and utter tool.

I'm too sexy for my shirt
Too sexy for my shirt
So sexy it hurts
And I'm too sexy for Milan
Too sexy for Milan
New York, and Japan
I'm too sexy for your party
Too sexy for your party
No way I'm disco dancing”

Of course dancing around his bedroom in his underwear was nothing new, hell it had become Theo’s morning routine. He did have a lot to show off with great abs, a strong frame and a jawline for days. He held his beloved baseball bat like a microphone close to his body as he sang or screamed depending who you asked, to Right Said Fred’s 1991 banger. It was to be a busy day for Theo today, he had tests galore, a meeting with the guidance counsellor to talk colleges, he had baseball practice and dinner with his parents and the Osbornes! None of that mattered though, he was just too sexy.

”You are such a melt, McDungus”

Theo span and jumped back as he saw Normie Osborne standing in his doorway, laughing with his stupid teeth on full display. ”Get outta here turd before I break your face!” Normie was a cute kid and for the last little while he had become like the little brother that he had always wanted but never had. It was once thing he could say he gained from his parents' relationship with the Osborne’s. ”What are you even doing here?”

”You’re supposed to drop me off at school today, jerkzoid and you promised me I could sit in the front of your car this time and not hide in the trunk” The classic corvette was Theo’s pride and joy and was the outcome of three summers worth of odd jobs around the weirder parts of NYC.

Debating the truth of the curly haired brats statement for a moment or two, he put down the bat and moved deeper into the room. ”If I do, you have to keep your mouth shut, ok?” Reaching over to his desk, TB grabbed his keys and tossed them over to the youth on the other side of the room. ”Go get her started, I’ll be down in a sec”

Normie’s face lit up in a huge grin as he tugged in the ballcap Theo had gifted him last year. ”Shway”

”Present Day”

Theo sat towards the back of the auditorium, arms and legs folded, eyes half asleep as he gazed off into the infinite yonder. He had fully intended on listening to the Principal's welcome speech, most of him was looking forward to his time at Mobius; however it was that other part, the part that kept laughing in his head, the part that wouldn’t shut up, the lunatic was making very difficult to keep up. He was pale and the bags under his eyes were quite prominent, ask anyone and they’d think he was a dude bro suffering after a hard night of good times; the reality that he was trying to suppress the soul of a fucking Goblin would be lost on most.

As the teachers and classes were announced; Theo shook himself from his thoughts to reach under the chair and read his card ”1A, Kitty Pryde” He knew enough about the X-Men to know that Shadowcat was a badass, so having her be his tutor was cool. He wondered about his potential classmates, some were the children of legends, some of the gods, he was a baseball player with a split personality and a knack for building shit, interesting times.

As a small smatter of students applauded, Theo took his change to escape, being one of the first to leave. Keeping himself moving and occupied helped to shut him out . He put on his headphones and walked briskly towards the 1A building. It was a monstrosity not unlike his beloved Manhattan this Mobius Academy. Tall, garish buildings and a lot of busy looking folk, maybe this wouldn’t be so bad? Arriving at the dorms, he made his way up to his allocated room and entered it. Inside already stood a young woman, he did a double take of his card; was he in the right room? The dorms were co-ed? Damn.

”...hey…”

Michael was excited.

He'd actually never really been to an actual school before, so he couldn't help but wonder just how it'd all go while half listening to the speech the principal gave. If the literal thousands of hours of anime he'd watched were any indication, then it could either go great or terribly. The odds where honestly around fifty fifty. Then again, it was a school for kids with superpowers, so the chance of this being a nice slice of life scenario was slim to none. So yeah, odds were probably actually closer to eighty twenty that he and his fellow students would get thrown into some kind of crazy, life threatening adventure.

For a moment, he briefly considered the possibility that maybe basing his idea of how the school year would progress on anime plotlines was kind of dumb, and he should just try and get back to listening to the principals speech again.

Thankfully, the principal shot down that line of thinking by announcing that there would be coed rooms, but that there was also going to be a 'sports festival' at the end. Say what you want about Michael's intelligence, but he understood his weebshit. He, like anyone else privy to that sad, secret language, knew that 'sports festival' was code for 'tournament arc'.

Honestly, he didn't have to delve too far down into the depths of his brain to realise that Prism may just have somehow developed some weeby tendencies at some point, and created a tournament arc because they're objectively the best thing ever, but there was no way he wasn't going to make sure he was ready if something resembling a plotline did decide to worm it's way off the page and into his real life!

And then his attention was immediately hijacked once more as Prism told them that they'd find a keycard with their class and dorms under their chairs. Far more importantly though, one of those classes was taught by Wolverine. A wide grin found it's way onto his face when he looked at his card, and sure enough, it was the one Wolverine was teaching. Clearly, that meant that along with his goal to make as many friends as he could, he now also had to set aside some effort to annoy Logan with! They already knew each other somewhat well thanks to all the times they had both accompanied his dad on adventures, but now the man had to spend time with him, meaning this year was going to be even funner than he'd expected!

But wait! He was getting distracted! He was forgetting the most important part of the speech he'd just barely listened to!

He was going to have a roommate here. Sure. Fine. Not unexpected. But he knew that, if he wanted to make sure the room was correctly decorated and up to his standards, he'd have to get there first. Sure, he understood that he'd still have to negotiate when his roommate actually got there, but it'd probably be a lot easier when the posters were already on the wall.

As he picked up his stuff, he took a quick look at the name on the card next to his.

Amalia Stark

"... Yep, nope, not getting anything from this." He said, before shoving the card into his pocket in mild disappointment. He'd hoped to get a bit more of an inkling of what kind of person his roommate might be from the card somehow, but sadly, all he really got was that it was one of Iron Man's kids, who he knew next to nothing about, and probably a girl if the name was any indication...

Maybe.

Either way, this wasn't really the time to be messing around. He could do that after he got settled in. Trying to be quick, he weaved between the other students and made his way over to the 1C dorms. He saw a couple of people gathering in the common room, and while he wanted to go over and introduce himself, it would have to wait until after his current task. Thankfully, when he made it to his room, it was still empty.

"Ooh, bunk beds! Haven't seen these since Hydra!"

Despite the less than stellar memories of those days, he was actually kind of excited by maybe finally getting a top bunk for once.

Until he noticed the metal that had been used for the bed frames, his eyes widening.

"Whoa whoa, hold up a sec... Is this vibranium?!" He asked, before leaning in to take a closer look. "No, no... Not the pure stuff, an alloy... Still though, this is... wow..."

Somehow, despite the fact that he was in a literal floating city, it was only upon seeing vibranium bedframes that he realised just how ridiculously expensive all of this was. And, while he appreciated the gesture of course, he was beginning to wonder if he couldn't put the honestly pretty decent supply of vibranium in front of him to better use. Already, his mind was jumping between all the cool weapons he could make, if only he could get a hold of someone who could actually teach him how to smelt the stuff properly.

Thankfully though, before he could begin dragging the mattresses off the frame to prepare it all, he realised that was something he should probably discuss with his roommate when she made it there.

"Ok, you're off the hook for now, but if Stark gives me the ok, oooh hooo, you'd better watch your back..." He said, squinting at the beds.

The bedframe, being an inanimate object, didn't respond.

"Yes, accept your fate. You will be given a better life in my armory anyway..."

And then he began to chuckle, which quickly turned into full blown maniacal laughter as he started putting up his posters, which mostly consisted of safer anime series, assorted boy bands, and Hugh Jackman films, with a particular emphasis on his musicals.

sometime earlier…

“You can’t be serious, can you? You’re going to take his name?”

In response to the question, Sadie nodded her head. Was it really as big a deal as the Agent was making it out to be? She already had her Dad’s shield… it was only natural she take the name as well. Personally, she didn’t think it was a big deal; the mantle would have to live on. She wasn’t even the first person to do so, and she was certainly the first person to do with Captain Rogers’s blessing. “Taking the shield and the mantle… that’s brave, especially for someone who doesn’t even have their license yet. You know it’s not official? Some might even call it disrespectful.”

This guy was judging her hard. He was supposed to just be giving her a ride to Mobius… Maybe it was a bigger deal than she thought, but her father would have had more to say if that were true… She wished she could have asked him — it was hard to not depend on her father when he was who he was. The perfect man, according to a lot of people on the planet. “I’ve been working my whole life for this. I think I’ll earn it.” Sadie replied with a smile.

There was one thing her father had always told her. Stand your ground, and words can’t hurt you — they’re just words… unless they’re the truth. And the things the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent was saying? Sadie would make sure that they weren’t the truth.

“Well, here’s to you kid. I hope you pull it off.”

“Thank you. I’ll do my best, I promise.”

the present…

Sadie was listening intently to everything the Principal was saying. She knew what to expect already, but in case any curve balls were thrown her way… she wanted to be focused. After all, she was trying to step into big shoes. Sadie was excited to learn. When he rattled off the teachers, she was excited to hear all four of the names. There was something all of them could teach, and even if she wasn’t in their class, she could still pull them aside to soak up knowledge from them…

Like a sponge, of sorts. A very strong, very fast sponge.

Sadie had spent a lot of time working for this. She’d worked with her father to train her hand to hand combat, as well as how to operate the shield (there had been a lot of ‘you have to look beyond what you want to hit’ in that part of her training), but she didn’t have any real combat experience, so she was happy to be taught by someone who’d had plenty of it.

Once they were dismissed, she reached underneath the chair to retrieve her keycard, and she was on her way. On the way out, she noticed there was someone struggling to get their card, and she was compelled to help, but when she saw that someone else had already stepped up to the plate, Sadie smiled and kept on. She needed to unpack anyway…

During the presentation Ayla took extensive notes, handwritten with impeccable clarity in a newly acquired pastel pink notebook. She even tried to make her writing look cuter with handful of flourishes and curls on the letters, before abandoning it halfway through out of an inability to stomach much more of that forced quirkiness. After the speech she looked around for someone to talk to, judging everyone around her. When she saw Taihou struggling to grip his keycard she found it comical, almost laughing to mock him, but then she remembered one of her Mother’s pieces of advice for life on earth. Humans respect the weak and the vulnerable, and even more than that they respect those who help the weak, it’s good if they see you doing that.

After getting her keycard she walked over to Taihou with a smile on her face, and gripped the card with one of her hands so that he could get a more solid grasp on it. She said “Hi, my name’s Ayla. It’s so overwhelming to be here, it’s waaay different from my home dimension, but it’s so amazing to get to meet new people here!” Her tone was peppy and high-pitched, an excellent job at feigning positivity. She got a look at the room keycard and saw that it had the same number as hers. “Ohmygosh! We’re going to be roommates! How totally awesome!” is what she said, which was far, far different from her actual opinion on the matter.

Taihou looked up at Ayla and graciously took the keycard. "Th-thanks!" he said, sliding the card into a slot in his rubber claw sleeve meant for holding such articles. "I'm Ebisugawa Taihou," he replied, introducing himself formally, the way his parents had taught him. Growing up in the much more casual America, he knew such propriety stood out, but he had the conviction to honor his parent's traditions. Besides, at Mobius, you really didn't know if you were going to run into royalty or not, so it was better to be safe than sorry. But after his introduction, he dropped the formality, "...but you can call me Tai." He looked at his card, just to confirm that they were roommates. "Awesome!" he replied. Fortunately, Taihou was rather gender-blind and rooming with a girl wasn't something to get him all flustered. What did interest him, though, was something Ayla had mentioned earlier. "Did you say you were from another dimension? That's amazing! Where are you from? What are your powers? As you can see, I'm just an Inhuman, with shrimp traits," he said, adding some humbling, self-deprecation to get that out of the way, clicking his pincers in a rudimentary demonstration.

Ayla was happy to see how enthusiastic Taihou was. She thought about giving him a high-five, but stopped as she puzzled over how exactly that would work. She said "Wow, what a cool name you have. So, I came from a dimension full of magic and wonder, my mother is one of the rulers over there. I can manipulate magic just like her, and there's almost no limit to what you can do with a little magic." She snapped her fingers and conjured forth a shower of pinkish sparks, and a few rose petals out of thin air. Some of the sparks started catching the petals on fire, and then she looked flustered and waved her hand to quickly dismiss it and ignore it. "Anyway, although I was born there, my father is from Earth. I've never met him, but my mom says he's a big hero over here, so I came here to be just like him, I really want to see him someday!" She peered down the hallway and started walking, but still looking back at Taihou. "Let's go check out our room! Also, I heard you say you were an Inhuman, what's that? I'm afraid I'm still learning about what things are like in this dimension."

"A ruler?! Y-your highness," Taihou bowed stiffly, taken by surprise at having met a royal already. He straightened back up quickly though, his mind full of questions. "A magical dimension? So you must know Dr. Strange." Tai looked on in awe at Ayla's display. Nothing he could do could come close to manipulating reality like that, though he wasn't particularly envious, just amazed. "And your father is an Earth hero? Do you know which one? I'm a bit of a hero nerd so I can probably tell you whatever you want to know."

He followed along after her, eager to see their room. Her question brought a slight grimace to his youthful face. "Uhh, Inhumans. Yeah, I think we're like, a separate evolution of humans...? Some aliens were fighting a war and wanted to use our ancestors as soldiers and accelerated our evolution or something. We got powers and developed a prehistoric advanced civilization. But a bunch of Inhumans also crossbred with the later developed humans, so a bunch of humans have Inhuman genes or something. I was born and raised thinking I was a normal human, but there's this mist thing that causes changes to Inhumans exposed to it. It happened to me, and I became like this." He waved his claws, wiggled his antennae and flapped his tail in demonstration. "I guess I'm not like, sad about it or anything, and I'm more or less used to it, but some people used to make fun of me, so I want to be a hero to show that despite my appearance, I can be a hero too." Tai suddenly caught himself, "S-sorry, I get carried away easily and talk a lot...umm, what do you think of the fact that the frickin' Wolverine is our teacher? He's so awesome!" Not only did Tai find Wolverine awesome, he knew the ancient mutant had a lot of wisdom from his long life of suffering and hardship, and was an incredible role model when it came to dealing with stigma and unresolved pain.

Ayla chuckled a little when he bowed, though she did appreciate the gesture. She frowned a little when he mentioned Doctor Strange, and made a hasty explanation "Oh, Strange, yes, um I've never met him but I know he's been to my home dimension. I don't know much about him, I hear he travels a lot. Probably been to a lot of places. As for my father, my mother hasn't told any details other than what I've shared, but I think if I become a hero here, maybe he'll hear about me and I can meet him for real. It might be silly, but I came here to make my father proud." Now she had gotten to the door of their dorm room, and opened it. She held it open for Taihou, and gestured for him to come in. "I can't say much about Wolverine, because I never heard about him back home. Is he nice? Anyway, let's check out our room and you can tell me all about him."

Tai noticed that Ayla seemed more perturbed by his mentioning Dr. Strange than she was when she mentioned that she didn't know who her father was. Normally not knowing one's parents was a source of angst, but maybe things were different in magical dimensions. He followed her into the room and noticed how nice it was. "Wow! I can't believe we get to stay somewhere so amazing! Though to be fair, we are on a giant floating city. I hope you don't mind the top bunk, if possible, I'd prefer not to have to climb into bed every night." He demonstrated by grasping the rungs of the bunk bed ladder with his claws and making quite the cacophony as the notches and lumps in his claws rubbed against the metal frame. He noticed that his luggage had already arrived so he began to unpack. "Well, I don't know that Wolverine is nice. I hear he's kind of gruff and grizzled, but what's amazing about him is his power prevents him from dying, so he's been around for over a century. He lived in a time before mutants were widely accepted and was supposedly used in experiments against his will. Despite all this, he chooses to push past the pain and help others. He has more of something than the other teachers, and that's experience. But I guess coming from a magical dimension, people living for centuries maybe isn't such a big deal, is it?" Taihou wondered aloud, though he wasn't about to attempt to guess Ayla's age or anything rude like that, besides, who knew if time even mattered in other dimensions. Imagine using the very concept of time to piss off an otherworldly entity.

Ayla noticed her luggage had also arrived, including the massive lump of rocks in the corner. She nodded along politely while Taihou talked, making a note that she'd have to get more info about that whole mutant acceptance thing at a later time. She slowly closed the door while he was talking. When he finished, she started talking. "Oh, I don't mind taking the top bunk, it doesn't really matter that much, it's all a dump compared to home. Speaking of that, I hope you don't mind me having Grgggg around, he's not fully sentient but has plenty of brute strength, works pretty well as an assistant when I don't want to get my hands dirty." The big pile of rocks started to move, and one glowing eye lit up at the center of it, it struck quite an imposing figure. Ayla spoke again, but with the door closed her tone had changed, no longer high pitched, now bitter and tinged with venom. "Now I get that you're some kind of hero nerd. I usually have better things to do with my time, but I think you can be useful to me. Don't worry, I'll help you too, find something worthwhile for your alien science experiment genes and toxic waste exposure, and I promise it won't be TV commercials for some restaurant. Really, I'm glad you're my roommate." She went to one of her bags and fished around for a moment before pulling out a binder full of disks. She laid it out open on the ground and said. "My mother got these blu-ray things when someone offered her his soul and all he had to her. Collection date came earlier than expected thanks to a truck accident. Anyway, she wants me to study them, to act like the heroines in them, she says that's the way I need to act when I'm here. She also said to start with this one." She pointed to a disk that said Sailor Moon on it, and all of the rest were of similar magical girl anime. "I think this is a task you can help me with, and it is something I would like to start immediately."

Taihou watched with amazement as the magical pile of rocks named 'Greg' took form, but Ayla's personality suddenly transitioning into a more threatening presence put Taihou on edge in a slightly confused way. He wanted to tell her that he didn't actually need or want help with who he was and how he appeared, but his voice stuck in his throat for the moment. Yet all that fear washed away when he realized what she was asking for help with; hyper-focusing on the DVDs and Blu-rays distracted him from the sense of dread he had felt. Any suspicions that might have formed in his mind as to Ayla's origin were replaced with the idea that she was just someone from a magical dimension who wanted to be a magical girl. "Oh my God!" Tai exclaimed as he rifled through the plastic cases. "Sailor Moon's a classic, and great if your focus is on elemental or celestial magic. Oh! Cardcaptor Sakura is also good for elemental magic, or if you use cards, and it's great inspiration if you don't have a costume idea in mind yet. Precure's good if you want to incorporate martial arts. In Madoka Magica, they use melee weapons and it's also a bit eldritch if that's your thing." Tai had wanted to go out into the common room and meet the other students, but the fact that an extra-dimensional girl was consulting him on how to be a magical girl was much more than his otaku heart could resist. Sure, he mainly consumed shounen media, but he had eclectic tastes. Holding out a claw, he tried his best to make a sinister, hare-lipped smile while speaking in a high-pitched voice, "Make a contract with me and become a magical girl!"

When Ariana Stark was told the news that she would be sent to Mobius Academy in the hopes that she would earn her hero licence, the young woman’s world as she knew it had fallen apart. And with good reason, in her opinion! The prettiest Stark twin’s life had been nothing short of perfect up until that point. Her every wish and desire was granted from the second she’d arrived at this Earth, be it by her father or whatever lover was around at the time. Of course, her friendly behavior with the opposite sex got her in trouble from time to time (thank God that her parents weren’t aware of her sporadic adventures with girls), but with a few blank apologies and empty promises she’d always gotten away with nothing but a slap of the wrist. But when, by a stroke of unfortunate luck, Tony Stark had found out the identity of his baby girl’s latest conquest, he’d been furious. It had taken the entirety of the Stark household to hold Tony back from flying to the man’s location and blowing his house up. And after a few more hours of convincing on Pepper’s part to decide on the appropriate punishment for Ariana, it was finally decided: she would be sent to Mobius Academy in hopes that the distance would break the relationship, and that she’d occupy the newfound free time with more productive things than sneaking around with older men.

“I can’t believe Dad actually made me do this…” Ariana grumbled under her breath. The glaring brunette was slumped on one of the chairs at the auditorium, arms crossed in front of her as she pretended to care about Principal Prism’s words. “This is all your fucking fault.”

On the right chair next to Ariana, Amalia Stark couldn’t help but let out a resigned sigh. While her sister had thrown a fit of monumental proportions for being sent to the Academy, Lia had been nothing short of ecstatic. Becoming a hero had been the goal she’d been working towards for years now. The endless hours of studying, testing, analyzing and training alongside her father and Shuri had been worth it. Enrolling in Mobius Academy meant she was only a few steps away from getting that coveted hero licence, and finally be given the chance to put all her skills and talents to the service of humanity. For her, attending Mobius wasn’t a punishment, but the achievement of a lifetime.

“Could you please stop bitching for just one second?!” Lia hissed, visibly fed up with her sister’s attitude. How Ariana was being ungrateful at having this invaluable opportunity was honestly baffling to her-- even if the brunette’s disappointing behavior wasn’t a new thing. “Maybe if you’d been just a smidge more careful, Daddy wouldn't have found out you were getting plowed by your old Calculus teacher, and he wouldn't have had a reason to send you here in the first place.”

Amalia’s comment earned her a scathing, nasty glare from her older sister. “Listen, Lia: just because the only action your sorry virgin ass gets is from a bar of soap when you shower doesn’t mean you have to shame me for what I do,” Ariana quickly spat back. “And, besides: Jace and I are in love with each other. As soon as I’m able to get away from this place I’ll go live with him, we’ll get married and we’ll move somewhere far away where our beloved father won’t intervene.”

The naive, laughable declaration caused the blonde to let out a loud snort. “Yeah, okay…” Amalia muttered dismissively, shaking her head and rolling her eyes before turning her attention back to the stage.

It wasn’t long until the welcome speech was finished, and they were instructed to look under their seats and retrieve their designated key card. Each sister did as they were told, but before Amalia could read the name of her roommate, the triumphant shriek that erupted beside her caught her attention.

“What are you so happy about?” Lia asked Ari, scowling suspiciously at the key card her tanned-skinned counterpart was holding.

“If Daddy’s plan was to keep his slut daughter on a leash, I’m delighted to say it won’t work,” Ariana proudly declared, flashing her sister her biggest, smuggest smile while pointing at the object in her hand. “You read this little name here, Lia? Seth fucking Warlock. I’ll be sharing my room with the son of a guy who was genetically engineered to be the most perfect human possible. And if darling Seth looks anything like his father, then I guess we’ll both be in for a very exciting year…” she told Amalia, jumping up from her seat and pulling her handbag over her shoulder. “Best not to keep my roomie waiting, then, love. See you around, Blondie!”

And with her sarcastic farewell still hanging in the air, the brunette blew her sister an air kiss and sauntered off in the direction of the 1C dormitories, her hips swinging seductively while her heels made small clicking sounds against the marble floors.

The lone Amalia could only scoff and shake her head in disbelief as she watched the other girl triumphantly walk away. How was it that her sister always got her way even when she wasn’t planning it? It was ridiculous, honestly, and it only served to further cement the belief that she’d been born the lucky one.

Fuming, Lia took her first look at her own key card, and let out an audible gasp.

Michael Wilson.

The blue-eyed girl stared at her key card in shock for a few long seconds, her mouth gaping open. No matter how hard she stared at the object in her hand, she was still unable to understand why anyone in their right mind would think it was okay to assign her a roommate of the opposite sex. Sure, Ariana could handle it as long as the guy was attractive- God knew she lived for the attention.

But Lia?

She wasn’t made for situations like these! The wheels in her overactive mind were already racing with all the potentially awkward and embarrassing scenes that could happen, and that feeling of anxiety she knew well was starting to seep in.

‘Do these people want to kill me?! I am not going to let this happen.’

Taking in a deep breath, the young woman grabbed her own handbag, squared her shoulders and stormed out of the auditorium, heading straight for the lobby. She fumbled around the inside of her bag for a few seconds before pulling out her cellphone, angrily unlocking it, scrolling and tapping at the screen until she found the number she’d been looking for. Say what you will, but Ariana was not the only Stark who’d inherited the trait of being determined, and Amalia wouldn’t accept her fate without a fight. The indignant girl put her phone up to her ear just as the line began to ring.

Anthony Edward Stark will hear about this.

As soon as Prism mentioned the keycard beneath their seats, cold plastic zipped into Morgan's hand. He was barely paying attention to the commencement speech, and it was more instinct than anything else –– instinct, plus a dash of performance anxiety. What if the powers that be forgot to put the card there? What if it was blank on both sides? What if it was just a huge misunderstanding, and no, he wasn't actually accepted into Mobius, and also he's far too late to apply to pre-med, better go join the circus instead, clown.

Morgan knew well his natural tendency to catastrophize and cut that death-spiral short by flipping over the card.

His read that he was in Class 1A, and that meant he was due to be trained by Kitty Pryde. As in, the X-Men's Kitty Pryde. As in, Shadowcat. Something to stroke his ego and kick him right in the Impostor Syndrome all at once.

Though he had another moment of unease before he swiped it, he was let in. It was not, in fact, the huge misunderstanding he thought it might be. He was not the king of clowns, not today.

Morgan was not the first person to arrive at his dormitory, he noticed. The lights were already on, and people were milling about to find their rooms and roommates. He was, however, the first person to arrive at the dorm room of 'Morgan LeBeau & Janet Star Lucasta'.

He blinked. Co-ed. Right.

Dorm living wasn't a new experience for him. When he spent the summers at Xavier's, he was always placed with a kid his age rather than given a private room like his Mom. It was supposed to be good for his childhood development, a chance to get to know other kids, as if he didn't socialize enough back then. Whoever was this Janet person was could only be an upgrade from the friendly discussions of, 'Your mom nearly killed my mom-slash-dad on x, y, z occasion - is she still evil?' and the much worse, 'Wow, dude, your mom's a MILF!'

Morgan found his luggage at the foot of the bunk-bed, and restrained himself from settling into one. They ought to at least flip a coin for the top. He did, however, begin to unpack, carefully arranging a wardrobe of flannel shirts by shade, smoothing them out where they had been wrinkled in transit with a nip of telekinetic energy. What were powers for, if not to make his life easier?

No posters to put up. No picture-frames, because the only ones he had were in his wallet. Maybe there was some place to get fairy-lights to spruce up the place (also to sap in a pinch, because while electrical energy might tingle, it was still energy) and he had to find the perfect place to sit Karen, his lava lamp...

But he didn't want to make any extreme decorating decisions until he'd met his roommate and they'd come to an agreement. That would just be rude.

Sitting still for extended periods of time were not among Binx' strong set of skills. She never could master the art of patience, and today at opening ceremony was no different. So, there she was surrounded by a number of other students about to experience their first day of life altering education and training. All too close really. Those annoying auditorium seats where elbows are a mere inch away from one another. Binx shook her head to think of anything other than how extremely bored she was, creating small marble sized orbs, rip with energy, twirling around her fingers, elbows propped up on knees, hunched forward, legs bouncing in anticipation for when the speech was finally to be over.

While Prism droned on she found her gaze glancing down to the floor, more often than she'd realized and it was in those moments she noticed the small packet that lay there. Leaning down, she grabbed and opened the envelope and took out the key card there, absorbing the token of explosive energy back into her ringed hand she then examined the paperwork that accompanied the card. Classes, teachers, a map of the campus and where the dorms were located. She was more interested now than she was 5 minutes ago, but that still wasn't saying much.

The bouncing from her leg seemed to grow as the climax of the assembly was coming to its peak. No sooner had Prism finished his last word she had scooped up her bag, adorned with a plethora of pins and patches, and was out the doors. The day was beautiful and bright. Not too hot and hardly a cloud in sight. And as much as she wanted to just lounge about on the grounds, she also wanted to make sure she got to the dorms and was able to stake claim to the best bed available.

Upon entering the 1D building she got a rush of excitement course through her. This was a new place, new people to meet and bother, new things to get into here. All sorts of trouble. Binx couldn't help the dopey grin that was plastered on her face, didn't even realize it was there. She entered the common area for the dorms but there didn't seem to be anyone present. Binx shrugged and looked for her name on the outside of the room that was to be hers; "Søren Thorson..." she mused aloud to herself as she opened the door and looked around the shared room.

Her trunk of items, coated in thin layers of stickers old and new, was placed at the foot of the bunk beds. "Ain't seen those since the bunk house back home," a small smile wormed it's way to her lips as she thought about home. It was quickly removed however, as she kicked open the trunk and began to dig through the assorted nick knacks. Anything to get her mind off of home. Even for a moment.

She stopped rifling through once she found what she was looking for and began placing items around the room. Originally, she thought to only stick to one side of the room, let her roomie have the other half. But then she realized, she didn't give two shits. Besides, if he hated it he shoulda got here sooner. A stereo in the corner of the room served as the catalyst for her phone's playlist to sound out at an alarming decibel. And soon posters of heroes, movies and bands, all in varying sizes and some even framed, and other wall art now littered the walls. Including but not limited to; a few old westerns, bands Søren probably has never heard of, RGB LED lights attached to the ceiling for optimal partying, a decent sized neon sign in the shape of a comically drawn explosion and a 12 point deer skull - to hold her jewelry of course. The available shelf space fared no better as they were soon occupied with nick knacks of her own. She did restrain herself to only taking up one of the desks and one shelf.

There was a slight commotion taking place in the common area of the dorms before it disappeared into the dorm room. Binx just shrugged it off and continued to place her clothes up and when she had finished she stepped back to admire her handy work. It was starting to look more like a kickass spot to hang rather than a mental ward and that's all she could ask for honestly. With that she took her leave and slide into the commons on her socks, coming into view of the redhead that occupied the room. A signature grin and a hang ten is all she needed to interact with the girl, "Sup my dude, name's Binx."

”...hey…”

Nzige leaned against the wall, swallowing, and looking for all the world like she was suffering from a migraine. But as soon as Theo entered and spoke, the room lit up with acoustic intensity noticeable only to Nzige. The texture and pitch of Theo's voice filled the room, and she could swear she could 'see' the inside of his mouth and throat from where the sound emanated. Whatever the case, Theo's acoustic signature was now firmly established in Nzige's brain and she would be able to identify him by voice alone from now on.

"...peace...be upon you," Nzige greeted in a Wakandan accent. A hand subconsciously went up to tug at her hijab, the Muslim headscarf that she wore as a sign of modesty, to make sure it was secure. She lifted her keycard, which was still gripped in her hand, and noticed the name 'Theo', confirming that the dorms were co-ed. This was awkward. Her religious convictions suggested against gender mixing, but she had not had the forethought to ask the school to accommodate due to having assumed that the dorms would be gender-segregated. But if she asked to switch now, would Theo take it as a slight? Nzige decided to just roll with the punches. Besides, being able to fixate on a single source of sound helped her focus, making the ensuing conversation a bit of a necessity. Ziggy stopped leaning against the wall and introduced herself, though she did not offer to shake hands, "My name is Nzige Nyenje, but my non-Wakandan friends call me "Ziggy'. I'm from...well, Wakanda." Nzige found herself missing Amalia. She knew Lia was here, somewhere, but she had rushed to the dorm without looking for her friend due to being overwhelmed by white noise. Now she wasn't even sure if they were in the same class or not.

Lydia Creel

Lydia had heard a few doors open and close in the hallway as other dormmates checked out their rooms. Maybe some of them were already unpacking and settling in. Lydia didn't want to unpack until she'd met her roomate and they'd agreed on the distribution of space. The last thing Lydia needed was an enemy on her first day. So she'd decided to check out the common room, which was just as nice, if not nicer, than the rooms. It really felt like they were living in an upmarket hotel instead of student dorms. No expense had been spared. She'd checked out the little kitchen in the corner. Quite a simple yet stylist little workstation. Lydia wondered if any of her dorm mates could cook. Or would it all be on her? Oh well. Different jobs for different people. The chairs were all comfortable in the TV area (she'd tried them all) and the TV was large and modern but they really needed a games console or some DVDs or something in here. That was high priority.

Shortly after she finished looking around, another girl came into the common room, and Lydia got up out of the chair she was currently sitting in with her eyes closed. She faced the newcomer, who had short blonde hair. Well, dark roots were showing, battling for dominance and winning, but she'd still call it blonde. The new girl seemed pretty chill and agreeable, which definitely made Lydia feel batter. Something she'd kind of been worried about was her lack of education, her upbringing and her lineage putting her at odds with a school full of Captain America types, but it looked like her fears were misplaced.

"Hey," Lydia greeted, taking one of her hands of out of her pocket to give a short wave. "I'm Lydia. Lydia Creel. Just got here. Place is looking pretty nice, huh? she accented this by whistling, and looking around at the common room.

Søren wasn’t paying attention to the principal as he spoke. His mind was elsewhere, on better things than what Prism was droning on about. For Søren Thorson and Charlotte Danvers-Thordottir, after all, this whole ‘school’ thing was nothing more than a formality. It was a little bit different for Christopher Quill, but he would probably ride their coattails — as he had for the past few years. When Prism finally got to the interesting part, Søren perked up just long enough to hear the different teachers of the classes, and receive the instruction to look under his chair for his keycard.

Quickly, he reached down and retrieved his, then looked down at the lettering… When he saw what it was, he quickly looked up at his sister and their friend, “show me yours. There must be some mistake… I’m in Ant-Man’s class.” Søren said in complete and utter disbelief.

“Ohhhhh, man. I’m, uh, not in Ant-Man’s class.” Chris said, looking down at his card. Hadn’t they gotten his letters about how they shouldn’t split him from the Thor siblings? He’d sent like, twelve. “I’m in Kitty Pryde’s.”

When it came to attending a school meant to guide and educate the next generation of superheroes, Charlotte had to balk at the idea of attending; she balked when her parents informed her of their ultimatum and she balked once she arrived and laid eyes on the ones who would be her supposed ‘heroes in training’. She was familiar with some but at a glance throughout the lecture none of them stood out as particularly...on her level. When it came to heroics, she figured she - along with her brother and their idiot friend - had something of a leg up on the competition. Which was precisely why Charlotte spent the majority of the principal’s boring speech stifling a yawn and entertaining herself by arcing little sparks of photon between her index fingers.

Sandwiched inbetween Søren, her brother, and Chris, their idiot friend, Charlotte hadn’t stirred until the familia rustling of the end of a speech woke her from her finger-sparking revelry. Only an idiot would ask questions - that would be admitting she hadn’t been paying attention - so Charlotte simple observed what her brother did and followed suite, reaching under her chair. “Do you think Rhodey will go easy on me? Or can he not afford to play favorites?” Charlotte, it seemed, believed she was a shoo-in for War Machine’s class.

And then she looked at her keycard.

“Who in the hells is Scott Lang? Did dad ever mention him?” She looked to Søren for support and then turned to Chris, putting a hand on his shoulder with slightly more pressure than a simple friendly tap. “I think you read that wrong. You are with Scott Lang, right?”

Chris looked between the two Thor siblings, and wondered when they started looking so intimidating. Did they always look like that? Maybe it was the force of Charlotte’s hand on his shoulder, maybe it was the was Søren had casually looped Mjölnir’s handle over his wrist — if he thought Chris wouldn’t notice, then he had been dead wrong. Of course, what the twins — no, wait, despite appearances and personality; they weren’t twins — lacked in subtlety they made up for in power… which only made this worse. Geeze, was this how they made other people feel usually?

“Uh, no, I’m in Kitty Pryde’s class. Shadowcat, y’know?” Chris gave a hopeful smile as Søren shook his head, and Chris realized that he was suddenly in trouble. “I didn’t pick the classes, you know that right?”

“How dare you betray us. We’re supposed to be a team!” Søren protested, pointing an accusatory finger over Charlotte and at Chris. That little bastard got the good class. That didn’t make any sense! “How come you get a good class? And yes, father has spoke about the Ant-Man, Scott Lang. He’s useless, he used to be a criminal! What can he possibly teach us?”

Meekly, Chris offered. “How to be a more understanding friend?”

“Understanding?” Charlotte tightened the grip on Chris’ shoulder, now pushing part of her weight down on him while doing her best not to scowl at her supposed friend. “I am plenty understanding. I understand that we are supposed to be a team. I understand that friends are supposed to stick together. I understand that you are going to demand we be transferred to your class, or the three of us transferred to my godfather’s class. And I understand that if you wish to remove part of the package from the package deal then you will have to find yourself two new Asgardians to befriend.”

Though she didn’t increase her strength or turn her photons on as she spoke, her voice grew more and more intimidating and by the end of it she was standing up and leering down at Chris. “You’re the plan guy, right? Make a plan.”

“Got it. I’ll make a plan.” Chris didn’t know how he got in this position, but somehow, someway, he was always the one they blamed when things went wrong, and when they went right? That was their fault. Even if he came up with the plan! Oh well, the life of a Captain wasn’t one that was enviable, after all. “Right. I got it. We can rendezvous tomorrow, we’ll probably have class or something together, right?”

With Mjölnir wrapped around his wrist, Søren had already stood up. “Hurry up. Run along now.” He said, gesturing with his hammer toward the door. Chris sighed and looked between the two Asgardians between him. Søren waited for him to say something, casually spinning the hammer in his hand, and Chris threw his hands up into the air.

“I SENT LETTERS!”

“Well, obviously, someone didn’t get them. Tut tut.” Søren tapped the hammer against the opposite shoulder that Charlotte was grabbing, and then Chris stood up, and had nothing left to say as he walked away from the pair. Søren hung Mjölnir in its holster, and looked at Charlotte. “What’s his problem?”

“I have no idea.” Charlotte gently cracked her knuckles as if restraining Chris had been the easiest thing in the world; she was showing off for an audience of one, rubbing salt in the wounds of someone who had fled the scene in a huff. “Knowing him, he forgot to mail the letters. I can talk to Rhodey, he has to accept a transfer. I’m family. Kind of.” Charlotte and James ‘War Machine’ Rhodes had a unique relationship, the short version was that he was her godfather. Charlotte had never asked for a favor but if ever there was a time to call one in, it was now.

“This is insulting, though. Your dad, my parents...they’re Avengers. They can’t treat us like this! Tony Stark changed my diapers!” That was something she probably could’ve kept to herself, but the frustration was making her say strange, strange things. “Is it too late to drop out?”

“Pretty sure your mother is in the A-Force.” Was Søren’s quickest reply, as he began to walk away from the auditorium. He would wait for Chris to sort this out, he always did. “And we can’t drop out, no matter how much we want to. If we do, Father said he’d lock us in the dungeon for at least a year. I don’t understand why; the incident was hardly our fault. That was Chris.” Søren and Charlotte were here as a punishment, nothing more. Looking over his shoulder as he walked away, Søren gestured for Charlotte to come along.

“Come on sister, I heard there is a ‘Hulk stan’ among the students. I’m very interested in meeting this person. I don’t know what a ‘stan,’ but I certainly know what a hulk is. Our confrontation shall be legendary.” Søren was at least trying to stick to a good attitude; there were certainly good things that could come out of this venture. Søren could at least flex his muscles a bit, if there was an actual Hulk roaming the building. Casually, he lifted Mjölnir off of his holster, and swung it in a slow, arcing uppercut. “Plus, I saw a cute girl or seven in the gathering.” Søren was sold on the idea of the school, just not the ‘education’ part.

“Only seven? Your eyesight is slipping, brother.” Charlotte had seen at least ten, but she didn’t feel the need to surface that information lest the cute girl - and boy - population of the school flock to one of the siblings rather than an even spread between both. “It’s the first day, I don’t think any confrontation will happen other than who gets what bunk.” Charlotte had little other option but to tag along with her brother, she had nothing more pressing to do and part of being a package deal at least meant walking the halls as if they owned them. Which, of course, they intended to in due time.

“On the subject of girls, promise me two things: your little Stark remains out of your system and if either of us has eyes on one, we stay out of each other’s way. I don’t need you flaunting your little hammer when I’m on the job.”

“Don’t be jealous of the hammer. It’s perfectly natural to not be worthy, there’s nothing wrong with you.” Søren casually replied as they headed through the halls. When she mentioned the Stark, he sighed and rolled his eyes, “are you still on about the Stark? I told you already, once was enough. She was okay, but a little new, and I wasn’t put here to teach. I like midgard girls because they already know what to do. Asgardians are a little… eh.” Søren shrugged his shoulders, looking forward. “I make no promises. We might have similar interests, and then everything’s on the table…”

“Still on about it? Unlike you, I might have to go to Tony’s mansion for a holiday and that’s an awkward time enough as it is. You do not want to see Tony Stark in a Christmas sweater. Or my mother singing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.” Charlotte shuddered visibly at the sheer horror of last Christmas, when there was a bit more nog than egg in the eggnog, More to her point, though, her brother didn’t exactly seem to care about the consequences of his actions or conquests and normally Charlotte didn’t mind - but when Søren rocked the bed a little too close to home...well, that had a tendency of riling up Charlotte. “Brother, the only interest you have is a good fight and a better lay, and I doubt you’ll find either here.” With any fortune, they wouldn’t run into any issues of that nature, both of them, or at least Charlotte, had had enough of that particular drama.

“Speaking of, your little Hulk quest seems to be failing.”

“Just come home with me for the holidays. We’ll talk, we’ll drink, we’ll laugh, we’ll fight. We’ll make our ancestors proud. It’ll be a grand time, compared to any mortal holiday parties. Bring your mother.” Søren suggested, as they rounded the corner towards their dorm. When she mentioned a failing quest, Søren scoffed. He hadn’t even had a chance to start the quest, not really. They had to meet their dorm partners, and Søren had to try and secure the top bunk. Hopefully, they’d be big enough for him, but he had a feeling they wouldn’t be… “What are you on about, how is my quest ‘failing,’ sister? I haven’t even tried to find the Hulk stan yet. I feel it can’t be very hard. I’ll just… hit people until one of them turns green.”

“You can’t just hit people here, there are rules against it.” Why was it that Charlotte had to constantly be the voice of reason in their little duo, it made her sound like she was opposed to fun when really she just knew that anything Søren did reflected equally as poorly on her. THat was the one downside of being a package deal. The punishments also came in twos. “The last time I was in Asgard for the holidays one of the Warriors Three thought they could outdrink me. He still owes me fifty.” Søren was right about one thing, though, a party on their shared home of Asgard on its worst day was still likely far better than a party thrown by a Midgardian. “My money is on the Hulk stan, by the way. Even father struggled against Banner, the way I hear it.”

“Only at first, he won once he got his powerup.” Søren said in protest, as they walked up to the door. He couldn’t believe that his own sister, his flesh and blood… bet against him that blatantly. “I would totally beat a Hulk. Any Hulk at this school probably isn’t trained in any formal comb-” Søren said, opening the door to the common room of Class 1D, and he immediately called it. “Dibs.”

“Dibs.” Charlotte was almost as fast as Søren, she was distracted by the fact that she was scoffing at her brother’s fierce belief that their father bested a raging green monster. Even still, she called it damn near in unison with her brother. “I called it first.”

Theo took off his headphones in time as his new roommate introduced herself. He was glad that she immediately informed him of a nickname he could use, he doubted he could pronounce her real name and he wouldn’t want to offend in the attempt.

”Wakanda? Badass...I’m Theo from...everywhere I guess?”

There was no customary greeting where he was from, well none that he would repeat in front of a cultured young lady like Ziggy anyway. He closed the door behind him and walked over to the other side of the room where his baggage already was situated. This was going to be an odd experience anyway but the immediate vibes he got from his new roomie was that whatever he was expecting, that could be thrown out of the window.

He glanced over to the far corner of the room and Normie stood there, thrusting his hips ”Dude, you gonna get busy? Huh? She’s hot in a she can probably kill you kind of way. Co-Ed dorms is fantastic a fantastic idea; too bad I’m dead. So many babes in this school!!” He catcalled with all the might his imaginary fourteen year old libido would allow. Of all the things the Goblin could have chosen from his subconscious to try and break his sanity, he had to choose Theo’s annoying little surrogate brother. He did his best to tune out the Goblin Childe by focusing on the faint sounds still coming from his headphones but the shadow kind soon found its way to the top bunk and was bouncing up and down like a baby kangaroo. ”DIBS”

”You can have the top bunk, Ziggy. I prefer being closer to the ground” This sort of thing was always awkward, meeting new people, the introduction process itself. It was especially frustrating for those of them who had honest to god superpowers. Theo found the best way to approach things was to just say it like it was, let the cards fall where they may. ”So, erm...fuck it. So I may or may not have a personality thing...I talk myself or..well to Normie but he’s not real. He’s a manifestation of my inhibitions and conscience, he never fucking shuts up so I have to tune him out by keeping myself busy. I really strong, fast and my laugh tends to cause people to have hallucinations. I like baseball, beer and building shit. Do with that what you will”
