Inventory: A rogue-ish set of clothing, his dog tags, and a set of faux demihuman Wolf ears, a Ring of Disguise, two rations of food, water flask, a bar of soap and a few other portable hygienic products.

Ismael had watched as people started splitting up, as he had looked over as to try and stop Raven. Yet she left so quickly that Ismael had no time to try, yet he felt someone grab him as he realized that Kharne had grabbed him and began to lift him and ran off with him. As Ismael realized they were running away from the others, Ismael saw a smaller man look like he was about to call to them, but Kharne had ran too fast. Yet once they made it to the outside of the city, Kharne seems to have wanted to train with the time. Ismael had started to go through the paces that Kharne had placed in front of him, Ismael was used to training, and this wasn't so bad.

Yet he still needed to go through this as Kharne seemed to wish to see how fit he actually is. Once they trained for a bit of time, Kharne took Ismael back to the room to show him how to take care of his new gear. Polishing and buffing his armor, cleaning and wiping away the sweat, as he cleaned his gear and oiled it to make sure that it was well suited for tomorrow's struggles ahead, after all, who knows what will come. Yet tonight Ismael needs to rest, today was more stressful than he could have imagined.

He noticed Kharne was not going to bed immediately, so that meant he was probably going to stay and wait for the others, Ismael thought about it, but then decided to go to bed, who knows when they'll come back.

At the break of dawn Ismael was up and ready for the day, well he would like to say he was the first awake, but it seemed Kharne was already into some ritual of his, as he was hanging from the rafters and ceiling and doing some sit-ups, it was an impressive sight, sure Ismael could do it, but that's not as impressive as this giant, who looks like he weighs enough to give those trolls a run for their money, doing it. Ismael let Kharne continue in peace as he began getting himself up, as he started to do some exercises to ready himself for the day. Mostly calisthenics and stretches, yet it was to loosen his body rather than work up a sweat, he was probably in for some more training today, so no need to stack on more beforehand.

Ismael had finished his exercises and preparations when finally a knock on the door was heard. Kharne was the first to answer as Annya strolled in with what seemed like a bit of a more sour air to her. Maybe she wasn't able to find Raven, maybe she stayed up too late, or maybe she didn't get her entertainment from yesterday, maybe all 3, who knows. However as Annya spoke it seemed as if he was probably on the money with the first 2, yet the next thing she said, which was honestly a bit of an out of left field type of deal, left Ismael stunned. Ismael smacked his lips as he said in a sarcastic tone, "Okay, that fills me with confidence". Ismael tossed a thumbs up as he continued, "Knowing if your emotions get out of control could lead to you becoming an enemy of the people who summoned you here, definitely makes me feel a whole lot better".

Ismael let out a sigh, he knew something like this could be a possibility, however just to come out and say it made it feel as if more of a threat rather than a warning. Ismael understood her worries, so he picked up where he left off, now in his more normal tone, "Okay, I understand how you're feeling". As Ismael started the list, "Confused, frustrated, angry, concerned, and almost fuming at the idea of what happened yesterday". Ismael leaned forward and made a hand gesture to Annya with a bit of a confused smile as he says, "But let's not throw such ideas around such as becoming enemies of eachother, because instead of coming off as a heartfelt warning-" at this point Ismael raised his voice a little to emphasize what is to be said, "it came off like you are threatening us, and that does not do great with the idea of trying to keep us in a cooperative and calm state".

Ismael begins to continue as he shifts his body to make a gesture to Annya like he was extending his hand asking her to take hold of it, not his hand but the idea he is presenting, "Right? So why not we make it as: 'The power you hold can harm not only yourself but others around you, so I will do my best to make sure you are in the best state of mind to control this power. So please trust me, I am here to help you, I know it's scary, but this is the best I can do for you, for now'. I think this is better than going and saying what you said". Ismael knew he might have been toeing a dangerous line, mattering on how Annya took it, but he continued anyway, "We are both conveying the same message, but it is more imperative to make sure the person who is a literal bomb is not put under more stress than they already are. And feeling like a real support system is there for you makes someone feel as if they can feel better and maybe less stressed".

Raven and Eris both watched as Kaleb attempted to summon his powers, but nothing seemed to happen. Raven felt for him, knowing it was probably frustrating when you didn’t know what magic you had yet. She would have been very impressed if he was able to summon it like that, though, because even though she understood the concept of how it worked, Raven didn’t think she could truly summon it at will yet. The only reason she was able to throw the troll off Kharne was because of the adrenaline of the situation. ”We’ll figure it out, honestly I don’t think I could even summon my magic just yet at will either.” She said to him, trying to be reassuring as she got up and followed him out. Eris followed last, briefly glancing at at a candle within the room. She wasn’t positive, but she was sure it had changed ever so slightly as Kaleb expressed his frustration. She smirked a little to herself, but didn’t say anything as she followed the pair out.

Eris walked a bit behind the two, allowing them to converse amongst each other and just observe them. They were interesting creatures, so young and naive. These two were quick to trust as well which had Eris curious if other humans were too. She wasn’t going to place much faith in it because she knew as soon as she did she would be proven wrong. That was just how the world worked, she’d experienced enough of life to realize this. She just felt lucky she’d run into the two most naive humans possible.

Raven glanced over at Kaleb as he stated she was a cosplayer, now remembering when she told him that information the night before. She didn’t go into too much detail then so she figured it wouldn’t hurt to do so now. ”Oh! Um, yeah, it’s actually what I do as a living.” She said with a smile, happy to talk about her career and passion. ”I get hired by different cons to make appearances as different characters all the time. It started out just as a hobby and I would share my stuff on social media. Next thing I knew I had a following and people were requesting me to come to cons so they could get pictures with me and sometimes autographs. It’s kinda like being a Disney character in Disney World, but for adults.” She said with a small giggle. ”Though I guess it’s not just for adults, kids get a kick out of it too. I go to children's hospitals once a month dressed up and playing a character.” She knew it wasn’t the same as being an actor like him, but you did have to have some acting ability to do well.

”My most popular character is Harley Quinn. I’ve done her so much I’ve got her done really well. And here you thought I was just another bubble-headed blonde bimbo. Well jokes on you, I’m not even a real blonde.” She said, taking on her Harley Quinn imitation and quoting her at the end. She sounded incredibly similar to her and then Raven giggled again. ”Sorry, I’m a big nerd and I love talking about what I do.” She gave him a sheepish look as she shrugged.

”Uh, so, do you enjoy acting?”

884 Amas.

Arn had retraced his steps back to the Inn by the Sea. Ironically, this was the same inn that his target princess was staying at. Maybe the would have run into each other. If the young dwarf had returned promptly enough to see the giant of dragonborn with demi human in tow or if he had returned late enough past midnight when the light elf princess had given up search for the white-haired lass that had so passionately left causing the entire group to follow and leave him gawking at the aftermath.

His short legs moved him along at an even pace. He had no rush to return to the Inn and he was actually trying to still find Bowyn. His promise to Rue not having been forgotten. Thankfully, as he rounded the corner he noticed that not only Bowyn and Rue but two other person’s waited outside the Inn. The soldier took a step towards the group and then his whole body went rigid as if he had been struck by some sort of spell. He felt a heavy weight that was proceeding from his heart.

The cause? Rue’s friendly greeting to all when she approached. It was obvious, even at that distance, that the white haired lass was happy to see her friend. The other two people seemed to also welcome her. All in all, the party seemed to be well acquainted with each other. Arn could not bring himself to darken the obvious light mood. He took a step back, then another and finally turned and headed back the way he had come. The young medic found another stall or two that offered street snacks and he nibbled on them absently. Food was always welcomed, at least that is how dwarf’s thought.

Eventually, the meandering streets found him back at the sea side Inn. This time, there was no cheerful group. “They probably went to enjoy themselves” He figured to himself. He pushed open the weathered door and realized the group would probably occupy the rooms rented by the pretty winter fairy. “After all, they are friends, why would they not stay together?” He reasoned again. His steps were heavy as he moved to the innkeeper and requested a room on his own.

The young dwarf made his way towards his room. There was naught else to do but lay down and go to sleep. The morrow would bring a different day. He came into his new small room. Taking off his armor he laid back unto the adequate bed. Looking up onto the rafters, he placed his hands behind his head and sighed.

His mind raced. Here he was alone. The prospect had a dreary resonance. A dwarven Legion draws its strength from the unity and uniformity of the dwarves in it. Each member relies on the dwarf to the left and right of them. To the front and rear of them. Very little has changed in the long centuries of training. This means that a young dwarf such as he and a veteran such as his father,….foster father?...the term was confusing, could operate in synch.

“A legionnaire alone is no more than a pebble to be tossed but a legion is a mountain, strong and steady.” He repeated the lesson’s learned as a young cadet. So why had the king….his father?, the term was confusing, had sent him alone? Unknown to him, he could sympathize with the humans. Despite being an Avalian, even Riverport was an unknown world to him. Far from the old rites and customs of his people. Dwarves never truly strayed too far from home. Those that did were a different breed.

Despite his vast amount of differences from his own people, Arn was very much a dwarf. He needed the company of like minded individuals. He needed their support. He needed to feel like he could support them. He was not good being a pebble that could roll along a river and find itself in the ocean. He very much enjoyed being part of the mountain and would have been happy.

Sleep did not come easy. If it even came at all. Last thing he knew, he was staring up at the ceiling hoping that Rue would not worry about him not coming back. Next, he woke to the sounds of wood groaning. It sounded as if somebody was trying to twist the rafters off from the room next door. Whatever it was, it was heavy enough for the wood to beg for mercy.

Dawn light began pouring from the slight holes in the old window dressings heralding the beginning of a new day. The young soldier sighed again and woke up feeling wearier than when he had laid down the night before. Finding the basin and jar of water on the small dresser in front of his bed, he rinsed off the travel dirt and worry from the day before. He took extra care to freshen up his red beard and brushed his hair into a half ponytail.

He wore a dark red tunic over black pants and a padded black brigandine with silver studs. He swung his thick leather belt round him and let the two hand axes in their sheathes. The soldier knew that he may not need them but it may help forward his image of a soldier. If he had need of them, the pair of axes would serve him well in a close combat situation. He took one last look at himself in the polished brass mirror and sighed again.

Arn opened the door. He was not sure if he hoped to run into the winter fairies of if he dreaded it. After all, he had stayed in the same inn so perhaps there was a unconscious part of him that still hoped for a glimpse of his former travel companions. Again he hoped Rue would not be too worried and walked off. He did not know what lay ahead of him. He did not know what would be his end. He did not know where his meeting with the light elven princes would lead him. All he knew and could do was follow yet another lesson he had learned as a cadet “march…put one foot in front of the other. Simple as that.”

Kaleb listened as Raven talked… a lot. His face didn’t display how much he felt she overwhelmed him and instead he nodded and smiled some as she spoke. She reminded him of those people that never got to speak to others much. They just kept things bottled up until someone was unlucky enough to ask about them. Kaleb had just become that unlucky person, but he technically asked for it. Damn…

Raven was quite the talent though and sure she talked a whole lot, but she was cool to be around. She could drink and have a good time, was a great little spoon to his big spoon, and more importantly she was a fan of his work. Net W for sure. He genuinely enjoyed her Harley Quinn impression and even chuckled at how well she performed. The self-conscious girl was gone for a moment until she apologized for simply being herself.

“Enjoy it? I mean I’ve been doing it my whole life. I would hope I enjoy it.” Kaleb chuckled, but his face quickly became stoic. “You and I aren’t so different. I mean you have a little more freedom on who you want to be and what venue you want to be that person at. I just get paid way more and get more exposure.” He managed a soft smile as he continued. “You like what you do and I think that’s something special, so don’t feel guilty about it. Own it.” Kaleb was buttering Raven up some more, but he also wanted to instill some confidence in her. “Or just pretend to own it. I mean you can be… Harley Quinn. She seems pretty confident. And I could be your Joker of course.” He nudged her arm with his elbow with a grin, ignorant to how toxic that fictional relationship tended to be.

Rue

Time: Dawn > Morning
Location: Inn by the Sea, Riverport
Interaction: @Helo Bowyn
Equipment: Small backpack, two knives, rations, water flask, hygiene products, new outfit

Rue had slept until dawn and stared at the ceiling once she had. The sun was beginning to rise and sunlight poured through the curtains, bathing her room in its glory. She sighed as memories of the sun on the snow in the village raced through her mind. Seagulls cries and the regular port noise startled her out of her reverie. Frowning, she sat up in bed and recalled where she was once more. Her mind raced with the previous night events and she bit her lip. Were Bowyn and Arn okay? Had the dwarf felt abandoned? Would Bowyn accept her after she left him with strangers? Oh no, what if he was mad at her? Groaning, she glanced around and over the edge of her bed. Moony was dozing on the floor beside her, though she knew he was still alert.

Deciding to allow him sleep, Rue swung her legs over the bed and quietly stood up. She went and tidied herself up in the bathroom and changed into her new outfit once finished. She glanced down at herself and frowned. It was more open than she would have preferred, but the cloaked ensemble would be too heavy for this weather. At least it had inside shorts so flying wouldn't be a problem. Her heart ached for the colder, snowy mountains. You have a job to do, Rue. You can go back sooner than you think! Won't your village be proud? She scrunched her wet hair so it hung in messy waves and then swiftly exited the room with her backpack and knives.

Outside in the market square, it was beginning to become busy with activity. She bought some meat for Moonlight, paid for it; next, she brought a bowl and used the sink to fill it. Once she returned, she found a glowering and anxious Moonlight pacing back and forth. She swallowed and shuffled her feet, then shut the door. ”I went and bought you food and water. I wasn’t gone that long.”

”Any time you spend out of my sight is too much. Please don’t do that again.” He replied as she readied his breakfast on a mat in her room. She sighed and brushed hair as he gave her a reproachful look and began eating. Rue cleaned her hands quickly and skeptically looked around the room, as if blaming it for their fight last night.

”Okay. You’re right, I’m sorry.” He nodded in agreement, accepting, and continued eating. Rue glanced again in the mirror with a frown as her wolf looked up, now finished eating. ”Is this too much?”

”Considering you’re used to the snow, yes.” He drank water and then after finishing, added, ”You’ll melt in that other one.”

Rue sighed in agreement. He was one wise wolf, her mother had always said. She strode over to the window and glanced outside as she noticed the hustle and bustle of the Riverport town. Rue deliberated a bit longer before her stomach protested and she could no longer ignore it. ”Time to go, Moon. Let’s see if we can find Bowyn and Arn. But maybe just Bowyn for now would be best. I don’t think they’ll be friendly yet. But I’m hoping we can fix it!” She smiled at the idea and went to the door as Moonlight joined her.

He sniffed the air and glanced at her. ”Bowyn is outside. He smells like alcohol so I don’t know what state he’s in.”

Rue bit her lip, adding the information together and sighed. She took a deep breath and opened the door with a cheerful smile. ”Good morning!” She greeted, ”Ready for breakfast? I am!” She managed a playful giggle as she leaned against the doorway. Then, she added with a grin, unable to help herself, ”I’m as hungry as a wolf.”

If the crew aboard The Harem were observant they would have spotted a lone schooner sitting in the distance just east of their position before it started its approach.

“Hoist the black flag! Show them we're looking to talk out our negotiations.” Vellen Skolz appeared to be in command of the ship as others were quick to execute his orders. A black flag with the image of a gold-colored skull was hoisted up. The gold skull symbolized a vessel controlled by Captain Ardyn Croft.

“Those lot on that ship from what I could see ain’t parting with anything.” Rellen Skolz, Vellen’s rougher looking twin brother said with one hand on his hip and the other on the hilt of his sword. “I could have sworn I eyed that fool Tesoro and Nym of Vanarosa on board.” Vellen sighed upon hearing this.

“This yet another time I don’t know how we were ever born from the same womb. Those two being on the ship is a good thing. They know how things are supposed to play out. They pay Captain Ardyn’s tax and they’re to do whatever they like on these waters. Those two will know that. Tesoro is probably taking another stab at being a captain and tha-”

“No! He looked like the help on that vessel. You’ll see for yourself. You’re always so optimistic. Maybe that’s why Ardyn likes you so much.”

“You always say that, but I bet things will go smoothly.”

“And I bet they will go poorly.” The two Dark Elves pulled out their coin purses to make such a bet tangible and not just empty words. In the world of Avalia, the two Dark Elves had been dubbed the “Two Lesser Known Twins'' among their people. Vellen was the clever optimist while his brother was the ruffian that thought everything would turn into some sort of conflict. It’s part of why Ardyn paired the two together so frequently. As the schooner approached The Harem, positioning itself right beside it, Vellen showcased a warm smile. His brother forced his own smile for about two seconds before mean-mugging the members of Lizzie’s crew.

I really hope Vellen is right. I really want this to be easy. We still have slaves to deliver after this. And this boat really sucks. Liliana Perennia a Forest Fairy thought as she looked upon the ship they approached. She knew Vellen was quite good with his words, but Rellen was also here and he was always hoping for a fight.

“Greetings! Good morning crew! I like this trade ship you’ve acquired. It’s something good to start your pirating with.” Vellen's eyes looked upon all in his sight aboard the Harem. With the pleasantries out of the way, Vellen took a deep breath of the rich sea air. “Who might the captain of this charming vessel be? We have business to discuss and I think being on the same ship makes talking a lot easier.” He held a hand out as if to invite whoever the captain was onto the schooner. the crew had a total of ten including Vellen, Rellen, and Liliana.

Time: Dawn
Location: Roshmi City
Interactions: Nabarra @nasty, Yuka @princess, Aiko @CitrusArms
Equipment: Sword, bow and arrows, small knife, wayfinder, fire kit, a pouch with 217 amas

Orias answered Aiko’s question, sharing his chance meeting with the dark elf and Nabarra’s subsequent fight with a mysterious assailant on the rooftop. He shared with the demon a few details of his life, holding back just enough so that he was not thought of as a prince but rather a disgraced noble who left his home rather than further bring shame to his family. He shared his dream, why he’d come to live in Roshmi City, a hope for a fresh start and a simple and peaceful life far away from past sins. It was true enough that he felt his new ally would understand him without having to reveal his full identity. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Aiko, but rather that Biren was now a name that did not belong to him, that prince was a title he could never earn back even if he wanted to. He’d done his family no good, nor his people, the only good that could’ve come from him being linked to the Biren family had passed when he had failed to die alongside the three other princes the night before. So he kept that secret guarded, but shared his fear for sisters whom he did not name, and mentioning only that they held significant roles within the Light Elf army.

They had done all they could for Nabarra and now her fate was left to the whims of the gods. Before he slept he said a prayer to Solaris to look out for the dark elf, to light her path back to health, and one for his sisters and his home, so that they would be kept safe and that the God of Light would aid them in war. Night gave way to morning and at first light, he repeated his prayers sending them towards the heavens as Solaris’s first rays broke the night sky.

At early dawn, he left the room and headed to the tavern below moving quietly so as not to wake anyone who still slumbered. Roshmi was a city that was always bursting with life and energy, even during the darkest parts of the night and the earliest hours of twilight. Today was different; few signs of life could be seen outside the windows of the tavern, the early crowd was slow to shuffle in, and even the air felt heavy today. The Twin-Headed Dragon was due to arrive in the city this very day, and despite the incompetence that King Kasai ruled with, a heavy tension accompanied the coming regime change.

From the handful of patrons that collected in the tavern for an early breakfast, he was able to catch bits and pieces of events from the night before. A young weasel-like demihuman shared what he had learned from his portable solar box of the battle the light elves had fought all through the night.

“All through the night, they fought, beatin’ back them damned dark elves with all the force of the Sun Elf army they did. Killed a big mess of ‘em. Course the light ‘uns lost a few too. Said they lost a good bunch of supplies too. But…I mean your folk ain’t gonna let ‘em win right? Your folk gonna set this all right, right?” The nervous weasel demihuman stared at Orais expecting an answer.

Elves lived long lives, other races knew that they also tended to confuse age and wisdom as being one and the same. So even without knowing a thing about him, here this young demihuman sat looking at Orias as if he had an answer. The truth was that he didn’t have an answer to anything much less this, but that wouldn’t help anyone. If the light elves were sure of an easy victory they wouldn’t have gone so far as to have summoned an alien race for assistance. But the truth wouldn’t help the weasel demihuman soothe his fears.

“You can count on it. The best of my folk are, no doubt, out there right now shaping those humans into elite warriors. I’m sure you’ve heard tales of what humans can do.“ Orias said, his face remaining stoic so as not to betray any hint of his own uncertainty. Their collective fates all hung on a creature of myth and story.

There was a relief in having not heard a mention of either sister, they likely were far from the front lines of battle. Had anything happened to them he held no doubts that it would be public knowledge, The Twin-Headed Dragon were fans of spectacle after all.

“Yeah, my dad always loved to tell the story of two sisters of fire who could summon a big ol’ phoenix to vanquish their foes.” The weasel’s eyes lit up with hope as he recalled the story.

"My grandmother told me one about a dashing lad who swept his enemies away with the force of a hurricane.” An elderly wolf woman spoke up and soon the handful of demihumans ate and shared tales of mythical humans and their mighty feats.

Orias picked at his plate of eggs and toast and hoped the stories held at least a bit of truth, that humans were enough to make difference in the war. Eventually, he turned back to the young weasel seated near him to offer some advice.

“Perhaps now is a good time though, to cut your trip in Roshmi short.” He suggested quietly.

“You know I have been meaning to visit my parents, they retired down in Myraimor, keep on tellin’ me how much they love that desert heat. Maybe I ought to trek down there.” The demihuman weasel replied in agreement.

Orias continued to spend his morning in the tavern below, chatting occasionally with those that had news to share. He was more willing to let Aiko have their rest if they chose to do so and waited for Yuka to return as she had promised the night before.

Leaf stood, inconveniently, in the middle of where folks were walking, as he went about finishing off the stick of grilled meat that was his breakfast. He was just at the end of his meal when someone bumped into him causing him to drop the stick. The young demihuman gave a slight frown of disappointment as his last bite was quickly snatched up Star, who slammed a paw on the stick and, pulled the final piece of meat free from the stick and swallowed it.

“Welp, since I’m not blind I’m guessing I must be stupid.” He answered the man with a chuckle. “But my head never does much work before breakfast. And the cheetah there is well fed, no need to worry. Right Star? Say hello.” He added as he turned to look at the stranger. Star had other ideas, however, and the cheetah barely glanced at either of them before wandering off on her own, likely to find a nice spot in one of the shaded gardens for her post-breakfast nap.

Leaf took a lot of notice of the stranger, mainly the very neat hat the man wore and the shiny new crossbow slung across his back. The feline demihuman circled the man once, then continued to eye the repeating crossbow with wide excited eyes.

“Now that is a thing of beauty.” He added nodding his approval. His quick study of the man, made him think he might be some sort of hired muscle. Except the crossbow looked all shiny and new, which made him guess that maybe he was about to set off on a hunting trip or some type of grand adventure.

“No need for an apology. So where ya headed in such a hurry?” He asked, hoping for an exciting tale from the stranger.

Slick was a bit stiff as he eyed the cheetah, but the cheetah-man put him at ease. He was both polite and informed him that the cheetah was nothing to be fearful of. Slick had only seen pictures of the creatures. All he knew was that they were as wild as a mountain lion and they were mighty fast. The animal didn’t seem interested in either of them and walked off, further calming Slick. Watching Star walk off, he realized something.

Kuroi… Kuroi is a fox-man with a fox and this fella is a cheetah-man with a damned cheetah... Could there be a… Could there really be… a horse-man that has a horse? The question would just have to linger in the back of Slick’s mind, especially since the cheetah-man started up a bit of conversation with him. The compliment made on his newly acquired crossbow, made Slick nod smuggly. He was then assured that an apology wasn’t needed and asked where he was headed. Even though Leaf was of a different race, he gave off the impression of younger man than himself

“First things first. If you get an apology from me, I recommend you just take it ‘cause who knows when the hell you might get another from a guy like myself. Secondly, I like your manners. The compliment was good, and reassuring me about your cheetah friend was good too, but you gotta learn to introduce yourself with that charm you got there. Like so… The name’s Slick and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m also on my way to the Sturdy Stables to buy me a horse that makes this here crossbow look like a syphilis-scabbed whore’s face at the break of dawn.” He let loose a light chuckle before motioning the young Demi-human with a head nod to walk with him.

“And what were you up to? You and everyone else in this desert town seem quite relaxed considering there’s a war happenin.’” Slick wanted conversation, but also some perspective and information. If humans were being hunted, Slick needed to get an idea of what the folk here thought of humans. It was something he learned to do on the frontier. Some towns were proud of being as lawful as could be. A guy like him couldn’t stick around for long in places like that. The ones with less restrictions presented a different sort of danger. Someone could shoot you dead with ease, but it was usually for something personal from Slick’s experience. Sure, there was no trust in the realm of the lawless, but there was some level of respect for your fellow man.

One moment Bowyn was thinking of warm, flaky, honey-soaked bread and the next he felt a cold panic as the door clicked and began to open. He felt his chest tighten as Rue walked out and greeted him. He hadn’t quite figured out what he was going to say. At least she didn’t seem angry with him, not even frustrated, which only made him feel worse. Rue with a friendly smile and cheery greeting. He managed a smile at her joke as Rue suggested breakfast.

“Breakfast sounds great.” Bowyn nodded but again felt awkward tension seeping in. Rue was his oldest friend and yet she still felt so far away. And there were no dwarves or elves or anyone else around to explain why he still felt so unsettled. The blame only lay on him. He searched for what remained of his nerve before stuttering out his apology.

“So, yesterday, I’m sorry, ya know, for what I said. I don’t think you should change.” Bowyn spoke with his eyes studying the floor as they walked. He meant it, knowing that Rue trusted people so easily because she still all the things that were good in people and in the world. He would never wish for her to lose that, and he would never want her to be more like him. “I know I’m not really alright, not like who I was, but I am glad you’re still here. You are exceptional company.” Bowyn glanced at Rue for a second to try and catch a glimpse of what she was thinking before setting his eyes back towards the hallway.

Bowyn knew it was selfish to want Rue to stick around. This was a dangerous place and they were only headed further into danger from here, but it was nice to feel a little less alone.“So, uh, what's for breakfast." He added just in case he'd made the conversation too awkward.

Leaf nodded along, fascinated by the way the stranger who called himself Slick spoke. He wasn’t entirely sure he’d seen a horse that looked half as interesting as a revolving crossbow but then again horses never seemed to like him enough to let him get a close look. Most shifty prey animals always seemed to be on edge around him even after he’d had a good meal.

“Leaf on the Wind, or just Leaf if ya like.” He said introducing himself before happily bounding after Slick as he continued walking towards Sturdy Stables.

“Can’t say I’ve ever seen a horse look even half as nice as the ladies of the Love Longue up in Roshmi. Not that I spent a lot of time there, just uh, you know passing by the place. Then again horses don’t tend to like me much. Apparently, I spook ‘em.” Leaf offered a large toothy grin to show how ridiculous that fact was, but such an expression really only showed off his sharp teeth.

Slick had quickly turned the conversation towards the big war, asking why Myriamor seemed less concerned with it all. He’d figured the man for an elf as Leaf couldn’t spot any demihuman traits about him and he didn’t quite smell animal-like either. He also figured Slick must be new in town, maybe trying to stay out of the big mess of a war brewing between the elves.

“Up to? Not much of anything so far today. I went for a run, ate some breakfast, and now I'm talking to you. And as for the war, I can’t speak for the whole city but I guess I just figure the light elves got this handled. Never really seen a war before, occasionally some trouble with the orcs around here but Myriamor’s a pretty easy-going place.” Leaf said with a shrug. Dark elves were a nasty bunch but he’d never seen one this far south, he doubted anything that spent its time in the cold northern mountains would find the desert hospitable. He was more than confidant that the light elves would have the war won in no time, they did have humans on their side after all.

“Plus the light elves got humans, and I heard they’re taller than orcs and can move entire mountains on a whim. I’m sure your side will send them crying back to Daka any day now, doncha think? Now whatcha gotta really worry about down here are orcs and giant spiders. Though the giant spiders are pretty tasty if ya cook ‘em up right.” Leaf continued talking about as fast as he walked.

At first, when Astra began to talk with Myra, she thought Astra was going to scold her again, but when she mentioned she was proud of her, Myra immediately looked at her, confused about what she meant by 'knowing Vrexen would die'.
While Vrexen didn't seem to care that much about his own safety nor he seemed to have any instinct to protect himself and kept throwing himself into dangerous situations which could get him wounded or worse, he did say earlier that he 'couldn't die', which, if it was true, would explain why he acted like that.

Such an idea of not being able to die was very strange for Myra though. She wondered wether that was true and how he knew that. No matter how much Myra thought about it, the only way she could think of knowing if one could die or not was... Well... by testing, which was something Myra definitely didn't want to do. As long as Myra was with Vrexen, it was true that she wouldn't exactly be safe. Not only Vrexen didn't really care about his own safety, but he was very unstable and dangerous and had a tendency of dragging others to dangerous situations with him. Astra in the other hand was a bit more reasonable. Plus, she did show them how useful the shinies, "amas" as she called them, were. Being able to get them tasty food and soft places to sleep.

As they walked through the town, soon entering the market bazaar area, Myra's thoughts were interrupted when a strange orc woman, suddenly asked Astra something about Myra, gesturing towards her. Wary, Myra carefully watched the orc woman's movements as she talked with Astra. Even though she was being rather reasonable, Myra knew how violent the green-skins could be.

At first, Myra had no idea of what they were talking about but as soon as they started mentioning Amas, Myra soon connected the pieces and realized that the thing the orc woman was trying to trade was Myra herself and much to Myra's dismay, Astra wasn't really opposed to the idea as long as the orc woman gave her more shinies.

With a shocked expression, Myra looked back and forth between Astra and then the orc woman, hissing towards the orc woman before they walked away and turning her head away from Astra, clearly mad at Astra for having tried to sell her.

Leaf? Short for Leaf on the Wind? That’s like an Indian name… But he’s a… cat-man. An Indian Cat-man?[ Slick allowed the thought to swim through his mind while listening to the young man’s reply. From what he understood, the young Leaf hadn’t had the chance to appreciate a good horse. His toothy grin also explained why horses didn’t appreciate him either. However, Slick would keep things between them pleasant.

“Some folk just don’t mix well with horses. Just happens.” He commented just before Leaf speak on his activities and the war. Now, this is where the bread and butter of the conversation was. Slick listened to Leaf, nodding every now and then until he got to the part where Leaf described humans. He chuckled enough to miss the bit about eating giant spiders, especially since they were just entering Sturdy Stables.

“Whoa there! You tellin’ me you heard humans are taller than those big ugly green folk and can move mountains?! Slick laughed some more. “Besides Elves and Fairies, humans are pretty soft. Imagine you, with no sharp teeth, no claws, No big cat ears on the top of your head, no tail, no fur to keep you a little warm during cold desert nights… Huh… Maybe I shoulda described an Elf with round ears and not lookin’ like they’re starvin’. Most of ‘em are god damned toothpicks for people if ya ask me, am I right?” Slick said with a grin before the male fairy from before fluttered in front of Slick and Leaf.

“You’re back.”

“And I got the amas to purchase Champ right there. As promised.” Slick grinned as his eyes locked on the golden-hued beauty. It was just then a thought came back to the surface. A question he had asked himself moments before.

Indian cat-man………. Yeah, that don’t make a lick of sense.

With his declaration of wanting to please his mother, Lilith, Vrexen advanced forward, using all four limbs to sprint into the wilderness to find his prey. His third eye pulsed, but could not locate the dwarfs that naturally lacked magic. Still he advanced with the desire to inflict violence against them. He moved swifter than any Orc could while using the shade of the trees and brush to push forward. The scouts were spread thinly but were armed and equipped with both chainmail and leather. Things appeared to be normal until…

I SEE YOU! The thought burned through Vrexen’s psyche as a Dwarven scout appeared in his line of sight. The Dwarf had no idea what the creature was that charged towards him, but he knew it only spelled danger. With a lance gripped tightly in his hands, the dwarf positioned himself to stab Vrexen through the chest as he charged. “I!” The lance plunged through his chest before he gripped the Dwarf’s biceps with his crazed grin. He spat up blood into the soldier's face. “CANNOT DIE!” Vrexen roared as he pulled on the Dwarf’s arms while increasing his own size. With the Dwarf screaming in pain as his arms were torn from their sockets. Vrexen was disappointed the armor prevented him from tearing the Dwarf in half like the fleeing slave at the Malthemoor port. The body hit the ground allowing Vrexen to grab the bleeding armless body by one of its legs and throw it at another scout who was too late in rescuing his comrade.

Vrexen cackled as he clumsily ran forth on his hind legs with the lance still in his chest. Before meeting the next Dwarf, Vrexen pulled the lance from his chest and forced it into the gut of the next Dwarf, forcing it through the chainmail. Vrexen held the Dwarf’s body up on the spearhead, having the soldier slowly die while being suspended. Vrexen relished his death by tilting his head at the soon-to-be corpse, but a sharp slash from a sword to the back of his left knee caused him to fall into a kneel.

“GET HIS HEAD!!!!!!!” The dwarf shouted before being backhanded into a nearby tree. Another Dwarf that aimed to deal the decapitating blow was caught in the air by Vrexen’s impaling claws.

“Violence… VIOLENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Vrexen threw the impaled dwarf headfirst into the ground. His leg had begun to heal allowing him to stand up again with a sinister grin still on his face. He felt the kiss of a crossbow bolt hit him square in the forehead which only made his grin grow wider.

“COWARDS! Ahahahaha! Come to me! AVENGE your companions! DO NOT LET THEM DIE SO EASILY!” Vrexen turned to the Dwarf he had backhanded. He was still a bit dazed, which only caused Vrexen to chuckle as more bolts pierced his back. “I will not.” Vrexen with one hand gripped the dwarf by the helmet. “Let them.” And then he squeezed. His body flinched and jumped a bit as crossbow bolts continuously pierce his back, but it did not impede his actions. His other hand clasped on the other side of the Dwarf’s helmet. “ESCAPE MY VIOLENCE!” He crushed the Dwarf’s helmet and his skull with it. He immediately turned to his ranged attackers. The same toothy grin spread across his face before sprinting forward at frightening speeds on all fours. His right eye was pierced by a bolt causing him to roar in pain but he continued advancing until he swiped at one of the Dwarf crossbowmen, making him fall over in a bit of a tumble. He grabbed the Dwarf off the ground and slammed him into a boulder with a deafening CRACK. This only caused the demon to break out in a hysterical laughter as he was fired upon by others in the woods. He gave the dwarf a second swing into the boulder for good measure.

“Mother! Bear witness! BEAR WITNESS!” He sprinted past another Dwarf while performing a sharp turn in order to tail whip him so hard he tumbled a great distance away before awkwardly crashing into a tree stump. The last of the Dwarven scouts willing to engage, charged Vrexen with a lance. The demon admired his bravery, but his weakness… It was unbearable. Vrexen took the hit to his left shin with a wince before using two fingers to push the Dwarf back. “Keep fighting!” Vrexen roared as the other scouts ran to their mountain goats to make a quick escape. They would report the sighting of a demon on the side of Malthemoor and Aldarakh.

“FACE MY WRATH!” The brave dwarf roared with all his heart… not knowing the last word he shouted would grant him a gruesome death.

Wrath…

WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH?!?!?!?!

Vrexen caught the lance by letting it pierce his palm with one hand before backhanding the Dwarf with enough force to separate him from his weapon. As the Dwarf hit the ground, Vrexen removed and tossed the lance away before balling his fists. He stood over the Dwarf, visibly breathing heavily. With a grunt, Vrexen slammed his right fist down into the Dwarf’s torso. The armor was strong, but Vrexen cared little as he slammed down with his left fist. Then his right again. He continued again and again until he completely caved in the Dwarf’s torso.

“VIOLENCE!” Again he struck the Dwarf.

“VIOLENCE! Again.

“VIOLENCE!” And again.

“THERE IS NO WRATH HERE! THERE IS ONLY VIOLENCE! He continued to bludgeon the dwarf until he was nothing but a crumpled form of blood, steel, and rend flesh. As he stated the Orcs in Aldrakh, there was only one outcome.

Someone doesn’t look happy. I guess that makes us even now, huh?” Astra smirked as she continued towards what appeared to be an Odds and Ends stall. “This shop is pretty nice. Gots all sorts of random shit to buy, which means…” Astra turned her attention to the Orc trader who towered over her, appearing unhappy with her calling his stock “shit.” She cringed before looking to Myra to continue what she was saying in a more favorable manner.

“It means that this is the place we need to go to buy and sell the best stuff found throughout Avalia! For instance, hold on.” The elf dug unslung her bag and dug into it to pull out a rolled parchment with the painting Myra had stolen on Daka. Unrolling the painting with a fake warm smile, Astra presented the work of Master Marogarth, a great Dark Elven painter from Malthemoor “Remember this?!” She made eye contact with the Orc that narrowed his eyes at the painting before his eyebrows raised as he spotted the artist’s signature. “Master Marogarth’s stuff runs pretty high outside of Daka, but I gotta make some space in my bag. I’ll give it to you for three quarters of what I purchased it for.” Knowing full and well she didn’t pay anything for it. She was going to talk about pricing when the echoes of some creature roaring to the west were faintly heard.

“Huh?”

Leaf tried to picture himself furless, tailless, earless, and without any natural defenses. The mental image itself was enough to give him a shudder. The idea of an elf with a rounded ears was a much less shocking mental picture but nothing like what he’d imagined humans looking like when he’d heard all the old tales about them. Nah, Leaf had always thought of them being built like an orc, some kind of creature with fists that could smash through boulders, and with magic that made elves and fairies look dull by comparison. He knew they lacked fur or scales, knew that they weren’t built like Avalia’s predators, but in the old stories they were larger than life characters.

“Nah, I’m not buying it.” Leaf said shaking his head, wondering where Slick was getting his information from. “They at least gotta be big, I mean they’re the biggest, baddest, thing on a whole other world, they gotta be imposin’.” He added. Either Slick was playing a joke on him or…Or he’s seen a human up close. Wouldn’t that be something? He couldn’t tell with Slick, the man said everything with absolute confidence, but maybe really had met a human. What he did know was that humans had the dark elves scared, they were out offering bounties and making bold moves now that the light elves had humans working with them.

Leaf couldn’t ask Slick anymore about humans because the fairy that owned the stables was there selling the horse. So instead he wandered about a bit looking inside the different pens. A few of the oversized flightless birds squawked at him so he paid them little attention, only thinking about how fun they would be to chase. In addition to the big chickens, he saw a few other horses, camels, and some big sleepy lizards. Most of the pens were uninteresting, it wasn’t like he could chase any of them around, and they didn’t have anything he hadn’t seen before.

Until he came to a pen that housed a very sad-looking lioness. He locked eyes with the great cat who offered a soft, defeated, growl as a less than friendly greeting. Just ain’t right. He wished he had the amas to buy the freedom of the noble creature but he didn’t exactly have lion buying amas laying around.

“You oughta be ashamed of yourself, keeping a lion caged up like this. May Zidur and Bastet both curse you with a thousand plagues, you greedy oversized mosquito.” Leaf shouted from the lioness pen towards the very annoyed-looking fairy as he interrupted the sale between the fairy and Slick. “I’ll be outside.” He added with a glance at Slick. Leaf gave one last sympathetic glance towards the lioness before kicking up sand and dust as he stormed out of the stables.

Leaf suddenly had a new idea for what he was going to do today, he was gonna come back at nightfall and set that lion free. There was nothing right about keeping a wild predator penned up like a domesticated animal. Nothing right about that at all. He thought as he walked around outside, tail flicking with agitation, as he studied the outside of the stables. He figured it was an easy enough place to break into, he had plenty of practice with that. No, the real trouble would be afterward. Although Governor Nasah was a fair man, Leaf was well aware of his punishment for thieving and he wasn’t fond of the possibility of losing a hand. At least he had the rest of the day to think up a plan.

The more he thought about it, the more his heart began to pound with excitement. One last caper, not for greed or for his old man, but to free an innocent prisoner. The anticipation of the sneaking, climbing, jumping, running; the fun of it all, and the high of the success at getting away with it. He hated how much he missed it all. He didn’t miss hurting people or having pockets filled with amas, but the thrill, the danger, that was the spice his life was missing. Old instincts and muscles finely tuned for it all itched at the chance for another adventure.

“Well I guess a deal’s a deal then.” The fairy admitted as he counted up Slick’s amas. Slick sneered as the Fairy was looking down to gather the coins up.

“We didn’t ever make a deal, remember? Somethin’ about first come, first served.” Slick shrugged as it hadn’t become too much of a problem for him. He just didn’t like how quickly the Fairy changed his tune all of a sudden. He’d dealt with these types before. The type of man that turned sweet as honey once you greased his hands with cash or gold. Slick took a glance at Leaf who was touring the stables on his own and wondered if the cat-man was attempting to try his luck with becoming friendly with horses again.

“Oh yes, you’re ri-” The fairy was suddenly interrupted by shouting from Leaf. The Fairy scowled at Leaf while Slick was a bit surprised to see Leaf show a fiercer side to him. Looks like the cat has a bite. With Leaf’s departure, the Fairy muttered something under his breath before leading Slick to the stable where his purchase was being kept. Despite being excited about getting his trusty steed, Slick couldn’t help but look toward the lioness Leaf was so burnt up about. He could understand why the cat-man would be upset with having a fellow cat confined the way it was. Though he had not experienced the horror that was slavery, Slick heard plenty, and it wouldn’t be so far of a reach to think he wouldn’t feel the same as Leaf if he saw one of his own in such a condition. Staring at the horse a while, he wondered if its situation was the same. There had to be horse-men in this world, too. And I thought this place was complicated before… Now it makes sense why Kuroi bought that little critter and got him out of a cage.

“The saddle, horseshoes, and reins come with the purchase. Any other accessories like saddlebags, blinders, and armor will have to be purchased elsewhere.”

“Seems fair to me. I already got myself a saddlebag I’ve been usin' on my person.” Slick motioned toward the saddlebag he had slung over his chest. He started removing his slung crossbow first and set it down on the dirt ground before standing back up to remove the saddlebag in the same fashion. In the meantime, the Fairy opened up the stable to lead the horse out.

Once situated, Slick finally looked up at his new companion. Champ was a beauty and not something Slick thought he could afford back on Earth.

“Nice to meet ya, Champ. Slick’s gon’ take good care of ya.” He grazed the back of his palm against the horse’s neck before attaching the saddlebag and finally mounting the majestic creature. Slick felt like he could jump out of his boots over this moment. He’d ridden too many times to count. It was like walking for him, but having this familiarity in a place so far and so different from where he was from was just incredible. For a moment he didn’t even move and just sat upon the horse, taking it all in. “Well… It was a pleasure doing business with you fella.” Slick had Champ trot out of Sturdy Stables and walk in a figure-eight pattern a few times in front of Leaf while making sure not to knock any roaming townsfolk over. He eyed Leaf some before noticing a peculiar look in his eyes.

“Sincere apologies about you seeing what you saw in there.” Slick said as soon as he could before stopping beside Leaf and dismounting. “Hey, I know that look. What you cookin’ up in that brain of yours?” Slick raised a brow at Leaf who looked like some of the other outlaws he rode with. It was the look they got when they had hatched up some genius scheme to land a huge score.

Rue

Time: Morning
Location: Inn by the Sea, Riverport
Interaction: @Helo Bowyn
Equipment: Small backpack, two knives, rations, water flask, hygiene products, new outfit

Rue studied Bowyn and remained quiet as he spoke. The awkwardness filled the air and threatened to suffocate them both. She took a deep breath to settle herself. He was here in front of her, talking to her, and wanting her company. It made a warmth rise inside of her unassociated with the Riverport weather. As he stuttered out an apology, she felt a pang of guilt. She was too naive and trusting; it was one of her weakest traits. Still, Rue couldn’t help but believe there was goodness inside of everyone and they deserved a chance. If they proved her wrong, then it was on them and not her. The world was tethering on the edge of war and would be more dangerous as time went on. She wondered if maybe the light elves had been kinder to the dark elves in the past, would they be in this position?

She listened as he spoke and did not interrupt him. During his apology he was frozen and staring at the floor; then risked a glance at her. Once he had, he’d notice a kind smile on her face and understanding. A moment of silence; then he returned to breakfast. She moved a step closer to him and placed hand on his shoulder with the same warm smile she’d expressed earlier. ”Your apology is accepted, but unneeded.” She told him quietly, glancing around to make sure they were alone, then settled on staring over the top of his head nervously. ”You were right on the amas with your words. I’m sorry, too. I just.. I just think if there was more good in the world, then maybe there wouldn’t be a war on the horizon." She paused and took a deep breathe, then continued. ”I think you're an exceptional company too. I know you’re not the same but I accept you.” Then she removed her hand and turned away shyly, unable to comment further.

Her stomach rumbled and she giggled. ”So yes. Breakfast.” Rue tapped her fingers on her arm and then grinned. ”What about the Surfside Cafe? Oh it’d be nice to eat by the sea wouldn’t it!” Rue turned to him, excitement flushing through her face.

While Myra was still a bit mad at Astra for her little 'joke', her curiosity got the better of her as they approached one of the stalls.
Truth be told, just like Astra said, the things that were being displayed were mostly random assortments of stuff with no apparent connection to one another. The products were displayed on top of the table with little to no organization, either because the seller was too lazy to try and organize everything or because it was almost impossible to do so in a way that made some sense.

As Myra was curiously looking at the things, leaning forward as she analyzed the many random products the orc had to sell, Astra unfurled a roll of paper from her bag. The very moment Myra saw that, she remembered what it was. The pretty drawing with vibrant colors she had stolen when searching for a map. Nodding her head with a proud expression, Myra watched with a smug expression as Astra began negotiating with the orc, knowing that the 'painting' she stole would help them to get a few more shinies for them to buy food and find more cozy places to sleep after eating. That was, until they were interrupted by a faint and distant noise of a creature of some kind roaring, which made Myra immediately stop and look around to be sure nothing dangerous was approaching them, before she looked at Astra, with a concerned expression.

Aiko Yume

Time: Morning
Location: Leaky Tap and Tavern
Interactions: Nabarra @nasty, Yuka @princess, Orias @Helo

Aiko had stayed up a decent part of the night, just tending to Nabarra and giving her occasional sips of potion. A bit of slight of hand and a bit of magic moulding made getting it down easy. Once Orias had gone to sleep, she let herself doze off into a trance and went for one of their little walks.

There was a lot of work to be done; Minds to pacify and thoughts to curb. A presence to cover up. She would begin with the tavern patrons, and burying the thoughts of the dark elf in the tavern. Distracting with sex appeal usually worked, and those dreams fed well, too. But, while she was out amongst the dreams, there were thoughts regarding multiple dark elves. That... Complicated things. The king did bend his knee, surely that wasn't going to be the end of it. Was this the next step?

The dreams involving multiple dark elves were, simply, nightmares. Covering up the existence of Nabarra, a specific dark elf, from a mind that did not perceive her as a specific dark elf was going to be tricky. Was reducing the count by one enough? If there had been any more to deal with, it might have been useless, Nabarra would have just been a body in the crowd.

Perhaps more concerning was the horror present in these nightmares. Horror at the sights of the day. Fear of gore, violence and pain. Fear of dark elves and their magic. Whoever those two were made quite the impression.

By the time their work was done, the dreams were drying up as dawn broke. There were still those who worked at night or slept in that they could visit as the morning came. And Yuka should be returning soon, so maybe they would wake after all... For a short while.

”Kharne, Raven’s emotional reaction is just proof she needed to relax. They just wanted to have some fun. There was no predicting what happened. Now just imagine you had the girls train in that mind state. I know you’re used to your way of battle, but when it comes to magic, one’s mind must be in a state of peace. They will need some meditation sessions before even trying to summon magic again. ”Annya told Kharne, ”I will take the humans with me to breakfast then at Surfside Cafe. Meet us there if you are unable to locate Raven and we will search together. Please take care to feed yourself as well.”

Annya glanced at the young human as he picked on a sarcastic tone. She sighed and did her best to be patient with the man as she said gently to him, ” Yes young Ismael. If your emotions get out of control, you can lose control of your magic. That is why I was insistent to Kharne that I take the girls out to relax after the arduous day. If you refuse to cooperate and stay with us, then yes, I will be forced to call for reinforcements as your magic can hurt others. You, humans, are my responsibility as well as Kharne’s. It is not only our duty to
keep you safe, but those around us.”

She let him continue, listening to his words, and shook her head. She gently took his hand and squeezed it. ”I’m sorry Ismael. I know I must seem on edge. I do not want to threaten you. I want you to feel safe with me but I cannot protect you all if you run off so the matter changes. Of course, I would speak to Raven gently. I’ve been a young girl myself. I've lived long enough to know how to read situations and know who to be blunt with and who to be gentle with to diffuse a situation."

“Right now, I am speaking to you and Kharne bluntly to make you understand how important it is that we find Raven. I do not want to make her our enemy and I want to stress why we must find her as soon as possible. Thus I have to be honest with you about what is at stake so you understand. ” Annya paused and then her eyes widened as she realized a better analogy to make him understand her intention, ” Think about this. There’s a fire, right? So I am going to yell fire to make everyone understand there is an emergency. Right now we have an emergency to find Raven so I have to explain to my comrades what is at stake quickly to the point so they understand. If I sugarcoat things to you right now, you might not grasp the severity. ”

Annya moved to the door, calling down the hall, ”Saoirse! Time to go!” She waited for Saoirse to join and once she had, she led Saoirse and Ismael out the door and towards the cafe. The morning sun beamed in the sky and lit up the wooden boardwalk that creaked beneath their shoes. She glanced at the two humans as her thoughts drifted to the events of yesterday, ”Saoirse. I want to be your comrade but you’re going to have to explain to us the extreme reaction yesterday. Is such behavior prohibited on Earth?”
