They have a beautiful temple in Kyoto, too. My favorite, as a matter of fact, filled with a thousand Tori gates. I was just there in April! ☺️

@LupusIntus Yeah Inari shrines are gorgeous. The Takayama shrine in Aomori prefecture is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

So, I'm going to make a change, here. I've read that there's a practice of having a shrine to "your personal Inari". Gives me the idea that the shrine was to Inari, yes, but in another name. A simple change, but one that I think makes sense of her not just migrating to another shrine.

There were plenty of "Local gods" back in the olden days of Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were subserviant to Inari no Okami. Besides, there's no need to go 10% legit historical accuracy. :P

Never fear, she is distinctly not a bat. I think they'll get along nicely as well. Does he have blood like a human or hemolymph like a moth? I don't think the latter would sustain Velvet, so she'd get no benefit from going for his neck.

He'll have hemolymph blood. Gonna be as mothy as possible, while keeping a touch of humanlike characteristics.
