“Don’t worry about me! Rather, I think you should head home! I have an order to go after a criminal that’s skulking in the alleys. I almost had him but he made me chase him all the way over here. I lost him just a few moments ago, and I wouldn’t want anything to happen to anyone on my watch!”
She leaned to the side as she said this to look past the man in front of her, emphasizing that she was on the lookout. Her voice was low and held a somewhat pleasant rasp within it, though the tone was impatient and still low on breath. There’s a reason Guanyin has never been suspected before, she thought irritably.
