Here's my application. Side note: I've always hated drawing hands, so the sleeves being too long was a bit of a copout.

Edit: First note taken and worked with.

@Banana I only barely glanced through it, but there's some glaring things Ive got to bring up before I go into full judge mode. First off, the Wards are all full up now. There were only 5 spaces and all 5 have been taken. The local villain team and independents are available. Secondly, "instantly understanding anything he's seen" is extremely overpowered and not acceptable for the purposes of this game. I definitely would be happy to have a thinker, even a high end one, but not that high. In the story proper Tattletale is one of the most ridiculous parahumans around and her power is basically super deduction and observation, not instant understanding and expertise.

I'm sorry man, but it'll need to be heavily rewritten.

@ProPro
I'll tone down Prism and change him to an independent, I took a while to write that so probably in the middle the final slot was filled and I didn't notice. Would it be fine to change it so that Prism can know a knowledgeable amount of the subject at hand but only for that immediate time, and he cannot recall it unless it comes back up? Like if there was a cannon nearby, he'd know how to aim and shoot it, but once that cannon is out of sight, he completely forgets how a cannon works.

@Banana Ok, I have had the time to look through the entire profile for a complete and thorough read through. You may not like what I have to say. All in all, this is a complete and total rewrite. I'll leave out the little nitpicks and focus only on the big issues here.

History: This is full of inconsistencies, flaws, and reads like you're trying to make something as dark and edgy as possible to the detriment of flow and believable character development. I will go ahead and assume that you haven't read the original story while I explain some things, so I apologize if you have and anything I say is something you already know. In terms of his parents being murdered and being abducted by the government, that's a tremendous no. There is an organization that could have abducted him to perform experiments (that being Cauldron) but no murder would be necessary and I can guarantee that he wouldn't remember much (if anything) of his escape. The government does nothing of the sort to anybody, one reason being if they did and the parahuman escaped it would completely destroy all faith the people have and cause a revolution. Another point is that you cannot scan someone's DNA to see if they have the potential to trigger. Anyone who is the child of a parahuman is known to be almost guaranteed to also have the ability to trigger, and certain individuals know about a portion of the brain they can look at, but in no way is it something you can scan for, at least not without invasive brain surgery. You are also not destined to be a certain classification of parahuman. There is a force that determines the generality of your powers, but the trigger itself defines the specifics of how it functions and manifests. So not only can you not predict who is has the potential to be a parahuman, you sure as Hell can't predict what sort of power they'll manifest.

Personality: So this kid, from the ages of 6-10, goes through what can only be described as a literal Hell, and he comes out of it with only some deadened emotions? I'm flabbergast he isn't dead from the shock of the trauma, or at the very least mentally crippled beyond help.

Parahumanism: So the very first thing I'll say is this: Nobody is supposed to be one of the biggest and baddest in the world, or even the country, with regards to their powers. So him being one of the highest rated thinkers is instantly a no go right off the bat. That being said, I would like more pure thinkers and this power can be reworked, but it'd need to be done so heavily. The floating thing bugs me a lot. Why levitation? What does that have to do with being a thinker? That's Mover or Breaker status (depending on the specifics of how it works). Thinker is not a catch all term for psychic powers, it's for powers that somehow augment your mental processes, so the levitation is completely unrelated. Then there's the sheer scope and power of this ability. He seems to be a precog, an empath, and have instant deductive understanding. Each of these are fine on their own (to a lesser extent that last one) but you're combining as many mind-based powers as you can hear, which isn't the point. The point is to make a creative power that works in a very specific way and seeing what you can do with it. Then there's the Trump portion.

Through getting hit by one power, he takes in the knowledge of how it works, and is then able to use it to his advantage for a period of time ranging from 5 seconds to upwards of 20 minutes, depending on how hard he is hit by a power.

How does he affect someone's power after he's been hit by it? Does he just think and he alters their power in some way? Increase its potency? Decrease it? Change their range or how it works? Does he just learn all about how it works then he can take physical action against it now that he's educated? If it's the former, you need to describe exactly what he does and how potent an effect it has. If it's the latter, that's not Trump at all, that's just applying information you learned (which is definitely Thinker, and certainly not a bad application of Thinker either, so kudos there).

Then there's the limitations, which seem to fly in the face of being "immune to any outside mental/emotional force." (I would definitely be declining that immunity, by the way, as a major major no no). You say that he's particularly weak to mental/emotional pressure in an area, including from others outside of himself, and his mind is easily clouded just by seeing someone dead. Fair enough, I can abide that sort of limitation, I'm just not sure you notice that you contradicted yourself there. Additionally though, you mention information overload requiring a nap. Ok, fair enough, but how does it affect him at the time? Does this distract him? Cause headaches or migraines? Details details details, they are always important.

So like I said before, it's a complete rewrite. I apologize if that's something of a bummer, but it is necessary. If you have any questions I'm always available to address them, and you can check the approved CSs for ideas and inspirations. I would definitely recommend doing that. I can't dictate to you how to redo the history, but I would like to give a few ideas on how you can rework his power set.

  • He's a precog that can sense immediate danger (like Spiderman's spider sense), it only works on threats against him that are in the now and does not warn him against conspiracies to endanger him later.
  • The opposite, he can sense long-term threats but not immediate in your face danger.
  • Superhuman perception, he notices intricate details and can deduce information from them Sherlock Holmes style. This can also grant an insight into how others' powers work.
  • He's a precog that can sense nearly any situation, be it a dangerous threat, the weather in Japan, the potential for a business venture to be profitable, or otherwise, but can only communicate his predictions to others in a strange code. "what's the status of our operations in Malay?"
    "Orange-Triangle-Pennywhistle-Nihilst"

Those are just some real general ideas off the top of my head, I'm sure it could be expanded to plenty more.

You bring up a lot of good points. Time to scrap and try something different. I'll probably have a better idea for what I can do with a character. I apologize for making a character that strong and having you read through it nitpicking it.

Good job responding maturely. Seen a lot of people with cs's that get hit like that and things start to get confrontational. Kuddos. I've read the source material, albeit a while ago, so if you wanna send me a rough draft or something I'd be willing to look it over before you post it.

You don't need to apologize, I'm just glad that you're able to take my criticism well and you're willing to try again. @Eklispe is right, you reacted far more maturely than a lot of people would. I tip my hat off to you. Just remember that I'm here for any and all questions. Most of the players have worked closely with me to determine the fine details of their characters and how they work, so don't be afraid to do the same thing.

I didn't know that people weren't that mature on this website. Then again I've never GM'd and reviewed character sheets.

I have another idea, similar in one way to Prism that he is a Thinker, and he is possibly just as intelligent as Prism (maybe moreso), but he can't actually fight or he'll probably die due to having one less leg because of cancer. He rather acts as a set of eyes behind the scenes, helping those who need assistance or hacking into shit. Any thoughts?

Also, he lives in a nuclear bunker away from society.

@Banana That concept can work, but it would keep you away from all the action and make interacting with other characters considerably difficult. Plus you'd have to define what you mean by how intelligent he is, and define exactly how his power works. If you want to go the route of a thinker, let me get you some examples of actual thinkers in the story, since it's more than just being intelligent.

  • Accord - Superhuman problem-solving, intellect scales with the complexity of the problem. The more complex and difficult, the better he is at handling it.
  • Alexandria - Perfect eidetic memory, heightened cognitive speed and planning.
  • Dinah - Can calculate the probability of any event to an exacting degree and express it as a percentage.
  • Number Man - Complete mastery of numbers and probabilities. Just as good at guessing your safe combination as he is at using a pencil to kill a brute by applying the perfect pressure at the perfect angle.
  • Tattletale - Can obtain information by making connections, essentially making superlatively good guesses that build on each other. (Intuition)
  • Uber - Instant mastery of any one learnable skill as long as he concentrates on it.
  • Short-duration 360-degree X-ray vision uninhibited by shadows, walls or skin.
  • Coil - Can simulate 2 different timelines in which he makes different choices, then chooses which one to follow while discarding the other.

All of these are Thinker powers of varying potency, and as you can see they extend far far beyond simply being intelligent. Hopefully this helps you find some inspiration.

@ProPro
Here's what my idea is: He's a Thinker and semi-Master.

This new character gains a shitload of knowledge, evenly spread around to varying subjects in his mind. To simplify it, he knows a general good amount of shit about a lot of topics, excluding 2. He gained a large amount of knowledge based around Strategy and Hacking, so he has insane intelligence of tactics that can be used in another person's favor, and he can hack into a lot of things on his lonesome, but he cannot do it in person or act on it in person, rather relying on how he is a Master.

He has one reliable method of communicating with the outside world, which is basically a tiny flying camera that is very resilient. It has no combat potential other than distraction. He has a setup in his bunker (that has 2 sources of renewable energy powering it) that allows him to connect to this camera and see through it on a live feed. I categorized this as him being a Master as it took him a long time to make this, and it can probably be made by engineers and scientists. He also only has one of these cameras, considering in it's planning stage he almost lost another body part.

I'm still thinking of possible limitations for him but right now it's mainly dependent on having only one of these cameras.

tl;dr - Insanely strategic guy cannot fight or reliably get in harms way, so he uses a drone for his way into the outside world.

I think you could perhaps make it more interesting by making him dependent by what he sees through the camera. Like he can think up the best solution for anything he sees in the camera, but only factoring the things he sees in the camera. Food for thought. ^.^

@Banana Ok, I like that idea. It definitely has good potential and possibility. It doesn't sound like he'd actually be a Master though, just that he's built a drone and uses computers/interfaces to work it.

The sheet is near done, so expect it in a few.

I also forgot to mention that the drone he uses can return to a home location quickly. That being said, it's not like it travels 62mph, rather maybe 10mph typically. It will go upwards of 15 if the situation is dire enough. That okay?

Yeah, that sounds fine. A lot depends on the size, durability, and overall functionality of the drone, but those speeds don't sound bad at all. You could even stand to give them a little more speed, but try to keep them out of Tinker-level capability.
