Must Saviors Die?
~@Silver Carrot (REB), @The Irish Tree (MAG), @Restalaan (YNG), @Zaphander (SHA & FEA)~

Shatter and Feast's surprise assault threw the Varjans once again into disarray. Thus, they were not prepared to fight the synchronized monsters properly.

Meanwhile, the beads Yang flung at the Varjan Champion was noticed and was swatted away with his sword. Of course, this meant Magnus was free to deliver a powerful punch aimed at the Champion's head. The strike was powerful enough to send the Varjan flying into the ground. And thus, the fight continued but the guild members were more than capable of holding off the dioriented Varjan Warriors.

While all of that was happening, Emilio darted away into the forest only to emerge moments later with a wagon hauling a large cage. "This is the wagon they used to bring me here. Now get in so we can get out of here!" He yelled at the guild members. "I know getting in a cage right now may be a bad idea but we've no choice, my friends!"

The group successfully boarded the wagon and closed the its door and Emilio took off. However, three Varjans managed to cling onto the cage, bringing them along for the ride. Two of them were regular Varjan Warriors while the third one was the Champion himself who climbed atop the cage and used his blade to try and stab the guild members within through the cage's holes.

"Get the door open!" The Varjan Champion ordered his two allies. One of the Varjan Warriors had the key and began working on the door while the other had a sword who was ready to defend the former should the guild members attempt anything to stop them.

All the guild members realize that fighting a Varjan Champion in a small, compact cage will not be a good time. They must prevent the door from opening while avoiding being hit by the swords being thrust from outside the cage.

Bast's card trick successfully blew off all of the Brigands attacking Eilidh. However, there was still an entire group of the Brigands and here came the next wave.

"Face this, you creeps!" Gina yelled before playing her instrument accompanied with a beautiful song. In mere seconds, the Brigands all lose strength. Their weapons slip from their hands and their legs give way. They soon drop to the ground, sound asleep. "That takes care of that." The Gandharva sighed.

But Gina would be proved wrong. A warrior charged Bast and tackled him into the window of the farmhouse, bringing both of them inside the building and leaving the two monsters alone. Gina was about to act but she saw another threat and quickly jumped in front of Eilidh "Watch out!" She yelled as she took a direct hit from a fireball. The two of them were blown away by the explosion. Eilidh was mostly unscathed and, surprisingly, Gina was as well though unsconcious.

Once Eilidh got up, she were assaulted by the armored mage, striking her in the gut with his staff before hitting her in the leg, forcing the Centaur to kneel. He then went behind Eilidh and used his staff to strangle her, intending to choke the Centaur to death. "It was all going so well! Why did you interfere?!" He angrily asked. "Why?! Where do you think you are?!"

Meanwhile, Bast was still a bit disoriented when he was grabbed by the collar and put against the wall. His assailant was clad in dark armor but despite all that, it did not seem he wanted to kill or even harm Bast. "Is it true? Is what Sindri said all true?! Are monsters all bloodthirsty and crave the flesh of men?!" He demanded answers from the magician. "ANSWER ME!"

"Ah, y-yes, I'm Ars. I'm Lucian's... I mean, Master Lucian has taught me... Would you happen to be Miss Riñas Chavez? I'm with the Guild to fullfill a request..."
Ars Argento

"Oh, you're part of that guild now? How interesting." The Dark Priest remarked. "And yes, I am Riñas Chavez and I thank you in advance for helping me out on my request." She bowed. "Come. Follow me."

"Like I said in the request, I just want you to patrol the abandoned parts of Boreal Port for the time being." As a former resident of Boreal Port, you knew that there were tons of abandoned houses in the town. You knew from the port's history that Boreal Port was once under Varjo under a man named Araghast who then pillaged the port town and left, killing many of the people and driving even more away.

That was a decade or two ago but the empty houses were still left unfilled. "I'd also like you to take a look at the local farm. We sometimes get wild predators that raid the livestock or stray rabbits that eat the crops." She continued as you followed her. "The owners are away with the merchants and left their farm to us. As a mage, I'm sure you know how to drive away these pests."

"And... that's about it. Simple enough, right?" Riñas finished. "I doubt you'll encounter anything serious. So, do you have any questions?

If you have none, you still had another question. Which area will you do first? The abandoned houses or the farm?

"We were talking about... you and.... me"
Freyr

"Oh? You and me?" Wondered the seemingly unaware Siren. "Are you two talking about how good we look together?" She guessed, her eyes half closed and a seductive grin on her mouth. It was clear she was teasing you but her real feelings on the matter were well hidden.

Haley let out a small giggle. "So, what did you and Bart decide? Do we look good together?" She asked. "A rabbit and a bird. Not the most usual pairings admittedly but who cares about that right?" She then giggled again, enjoying teasing you. "I'll bet it's going to make people raise eyebrows but I'm pretty sure they'll do that since you're a male monster."

"Oh wait. Don't tell me you guys were just talking about performance and stuff." Haley had a thought cross her mind. "Okay, I know I haven't done much but come on! I just joined the guild like yesterday."

A Small Problem

As Nephele and Maria wondered on how to deal with the cockroach, the little intruder made its move.

From Maria's shoulder, it launched into flight right towards the wall-bound Nephele. Regardless if the Cave Dragon evaded it or not, the insect seemed content in simply landing on the bathroom wall. Did it sense Nephele's fear and capitalized on it to throw off its would-be captors? Or did it simply do that out of mischief? Did the bug even think at all? The two monsters would probably never know.

However, the cockroach was now out of Maria and in the open. The opportunity to catch it and end its terror was now. What shall the two monsters attempt?

Eilidh was shaken from the fireball, which was why it was thus so easy to attack her in her dazed state until she was kneeling and being choked. Luckily, her senses came back in time for her to grab the staff and push it away from her, giving her a tiny respite in the form of the ability to breathe. The mage was surprisingly strong, though! It took all of her strength, and both hands, to keep the staff away from her neck.

"Why?!" She yelled back, her voice straining with effort. "To prove you wrong? We are not bloodthirsty creatures! If you rally Varjans to attack an innocent and peaceful community that posed no threat to you, under false pretenses, it's clear who the real monster is!"

Using her powerful forelegs, she forced herself back upright, causing the mage to have to reach up to carry on the hold, and thus weakening his grip. She pushed the staff hard with a sudden surge of strength, lifing the mage off the ground in the process, before escaping his hold, dashing forward, facing away from him, then delivering a double-legged buck right at his armored chest Hopefully it shouldn't kill him with his armor, but it might break something.

Hopefully.

On board the prison wagon, Rebecca felt they were finally given some respite, and started to chant verses about healing and cleansing, her hands adopting a preying position. Everyone around her would feel their pain begin to ease, and any injuries or burns they sustained begin to slowly heal.

Their break from combat was short lived, as a sword began to stab at them from the roof forcing them to keep low, and for Rebecca to cease her healing magic. As well as this threat, two other Varjans were trying to break into the cage. Sword ready, the priestess waited for another teammate to engage the armed one, and while they were doing that, she would stab the one with the key.

Yang Bethelehem

Yang quickly grabbed and hauled herself into the cage, it's really the worst idea but its better than their current situation.

The Varjans seemed determined to not let them make their getaway as they climbed aboard as well, the champion at the top as he begin to stabbed them. In addition, it was a frantic problem as two others had begun to try to open the door.

She grinned, more out of habit as her blood pumped faster and adrenaline flowed.

"You take care of the doors, I'll take care of the big guy!" She said quickly as she crossed her arms behind her back, an act that seemed suicidal even as she looked at the champion above them.

"Hey now! Why so serious! Let's play a bit!" Yang taunted as she dared to stand up closer upwards, almost offering herself to be stabbed.

The moment the blade came down, she made minimal movement as she dodged it with a hair's breathe. Her eyes reflected in the sword as her feet made small circular movements and turns.

Even as the champion darted his sword to create a quick slash, it was hampered by the cage design as it limited his sword movement and power. In addition, Yang also made a point to stand right under him.

"Come on! Come on! A little bit closer! Oops, nearly got me that time!" She playfully said.

It was a chaotic moment but Yang danced, no wasted movement, no hesitation even as the blade came so close to hitting her. The sword did nicked her clothing but it never touched skin, all the while the biggest smile was plastered on her face.

It's like Master old training! Yang thought as the blade descended again and again, her senses honed to its limit as she is perceiving not only the blade movement but the Varjan entire body as well. Her being under him gave her a perfect view of his next move.

Bast Ragoczy

It was going to be hard to fight against all those opponents without hurting them, but luckily for both Bast and Eilidh, Gina had finally finished preparing the song she wanted to play.

"That takes care of that." Bast heard Gina saying, as all the brigands dropped on the ground asleep.

"Thank you, Miss Gina. It would indeed be very hard to push back all those brigands without using force. I am actually surpri..." Bast said, lowering his guard as he thought that the fight was over, but unfortunately for Bast, he was wrong. Even before he could finish speaking, an armor clad warrior charged him, tackling him into the farmhouse window. Caugh completely off guard, and away from Gina and Eilidh, Bast was still slowly getting up when the warrior grabbed him by the collar, putting him against a wall.

"Is it true? Is what Sindri said all true?! Are monsters all bloodthirsty and crave the flesh of men?!" The dark warrior asked, demanding an answer from Bast immediately.

Bast was honestly irritated with the situation and disappointed with himself by lowering his guard like that and the warrior's ridiculous questions only accentuated that fact, making him almost consider the fact of just making a card appear on his hand and smiting the armor clad warrior with a beam of energy, but the fact that the warrior didn't seem to want to hurt Bast at all made him hold himself.

"Use your head a little bit, warrior." Bast said, with a expressionless face, hissing to the man. His patience was running thin, but he promised to Gina that he wouldn't hurt anyone, and he wasn't a man to break his promises.

"Have you even tried to assess the situation? My cane rapier is sheathed, and I haven't even used any lethal or harmful spells... yet. The centaur has only been defending the attacks your brutish and uncivilized friends threw at her, and the gandharva just played a tune to make the other brigands sleep, instead of trying to hurt them." Bast said, looking directly at the warrior's eyes with a piercing stare.

"In fact... The gandharva, a monster, was the one that asked us not only to not kill anyone, but to refrain from hurting them as well. In the other hand, your friends were the ones that attacked us first, without even trying to hear our words. Who are the real bloodthirsty monsters, I ask you?" Bast continued.

"Now... I would appreciate if you let me down. After all... I am not a kind monster, but a human... Just like you and your friends..." Bast said in a veiled threat as he made a card appear on his hand, raising them near the warrior's ear as it started emanating a dangerous magic energy.

"Honestly... If you wanted to talk, you had but to ask, like any decent, civilized gentleman would do, instead of charging me through a window..." Bast said, still looking directly towards the man's eyes.

That situation was rather preoccupying. Bast could easily get free from the warrior by using magic, but the real problem was that he was separated from Eilidh and Gina, and he didn't know if they were ok or if they were being attacked again.
"A dear friend made me a personal request to help her with something. Due to that, I can't hurt or kill anyone today... While I don't want to break the promise I made, my patience is running thin, and I certainly won't just stand still and refrain from defending myself in a potentially dangerous situation, like this one." Bast completed.

"I have absolutely no reason to lie to you, but you don't need to trust me if you don't want to. Just look around and see with your own eyes what just happened." he completed, waiting for the warrior's answer, while still holding the card near his head. If he made and different movement, anything weird, he would immediately make the card release a beam of pure energy.

"We are not here to hurt anyone. Nobody needs to die today. Make the right choice, warrior." Bast said, still waiting for his answer.

Freyr

Freyr almost jumped, embarrassed and very surprised when Haley repeated his last words. He didn't realized he was talking out loud. A torrent of feelings flooded his mind. Embarrassment, anxiousness... Why was he acting like that? It was simply ridiculous! Just a small step away from letting all those emotions out, Freyr closed his eyes, breathing deeply and continued putting down the fence, looking down in complete silence as Haley continued talking. Even though she was still laughing and with her usual cheerful behavior, she could be acting like that just to try and avoid an uncomfortable situation.

"P-please, don't worry... We were indeed talking only about our performance..." Freyr said, still looking down as he tried to change the subject, with a somewhat sad expression.

"He was just asking how it was being to go on a mission with you, since we are very... different... from each other... But don't worry, I do like to be on missions with you. It's not as lonely as it would normally be if I was alone. And your cheerful self often make me stop thinking about bad things and lift my mood." Freyr said, looking down and putting his hand on his face, disappointed with himself.

Such a childish mistake... To act out of impulse and let his emotions take control of him... He would be lucky if he could trick Haley into believing that he and Bart were only talking about performance... He didn't want to ruin their friendship, or make things awkward. Luckily, Bart wouldn't speak about anything that Freyr said to him previously so Freyr could simply let that conversation be forgotten. He had to learn to deal with those feelings. He never felt them before, but as a Viera hunter, he shouldn't let his personal feelings get on the way of his hunts...

"I'm... sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have chosen my words more carefully... I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or created an awkward situation... Just... just forget about that, ok? I hope we can continue being friends and going on missions together." Freyr asked with a troubled expression. It was clear that he was hiding something, since he normally wasn't that... emotive... or even displayed such feelings.

Ars Argento

Ars mostly listened and silently followed Riñas as she explained the request. So, check a local farm for pests and patrol the abandoned town areas. Somehow, he had never really been there, though he knew of where it was. "Ah, no, no questions. I, I will then check the farm first and patrol the town afterwards... Then report anything unusual to you...?" Even though he was speaking following his normal routine, it was not hard to see he was nervous as he stepped forth towards the farm. That would be officially his first solo request.

After cutting through some of the knights, Shatter hopped onto the prison wagon to figure out what they were actually suppose to do and hopefully, find the next fight. As her blade shards returned to her Shatter turned towards the pursuing knights and gave them a vulgar gesture as she taunted them. "Daft boys! You couldn't chop down a cherry tree with those twigs you call swords!" Of course it wasn't long before those same knights jumped onto the cage and tried to attack them. In hindsight it was a horrible idea to be locked inside a cage they couldn't easily get out of from the inside. Fortunately that wasn't going to stop Shatter. She simply thrust her blade at the Varjan again, parrying one of his blows as her blade shattered into shards, only to turn into swords once they were outside of the cage. Then they began to swarm and try to cut down the knights hanging on, stabbing at their hands and slashing at their limbs.

Magnus bolted for the wagon as soon as Emilio pulled it in, hurriedly running inside and breathing a sigh of relief, even as his horns tapped the top part of it. The warmth of Rebecca's healing spell healed the slight burns his feet had gotten, as well as the scratch on his neck from being held hostage.

Seeing the Varjan Champion, as well as two of his compatriots board the wagon, his heart sunk a bit. Paling a bit, Magnus quickly realized that he was literally TOO big to fight inside of this cage. If he were to swing his axe, he'd be more likely to hurt someone else in with him than anybody outside. Watching the mysterious women that had also taken the quest strike back at the Varjans attempting to breach the cage, Magnus literally looked at a complete loss as to what to do. Letting out a quick yell, he ducked just as the Varjan defending his keybearing compatriot stabbed; He was practically a sitting duck, barely having enough room to maneuver in the cage while hunched over.

Gritting his teeth, Magnus realized that he needed to defend more than attack here. Rather than try and swing wildly at the man above him, Magnus knew his axe had no hope of reaching through the bars of the cage. As such, he gathered his courage once more in order to bait out a stab from the guard poking at him with his sword; A scarcely avoided strike that plunged the sword in deep into the cage. With split second timing, Magnus swung as if he were felling a long, and as steel met steel, Jotun Baal hissed as chilled metal met its milder brother, before the weight of his strike broke the sword in twain. The now half of a sword had significantly reduced reach and thrusting power, meaning that defending from it would be a cinch. Knees quaking a bit as he realized he just about got his head impaled by a sword pulling that stunt, Magnus felt that he could leave it to the others. He didn't want to risk smacking someone around in the cage by accident.

"...Wait, why did we get in the cage-part in the first place!?" the Minotaur said, looking around, very confused.

Before that she hated Cockroaches with a burning passion, it might never be clearer. As a thick, almost smoke like gas erupted from her mouth, Maria might get the distinct impression that inhaling that would be hazardous to her health. It was just a small spurt of it though, just enough to fully engulf the cockroach in its flight path, above Maria's head. If she was quick, she could avoid inhalation, and maybe crack a window to get some not-magically-poisoned-paralyzing air in here.

She hadn't had time to explain to Maria that while immediately effective if inhaled for too long, her cursed breath didn't have any long lasting health consequences. If Nephele hadn't panicked, she might have yelled for Maria to pass her the bucket to catch it, but...well, either that cockroach was falling to the ground twitching and paralyzed, or was apparently immune to magic poison breath.

If it was the case of the latter, then there truly was no stopping this thing...

However it all depends on if Nephele's fog would be able to paralyze her kin, She was holding her breath trying her best not to fall over form inhaling the what she thought was a noxious gas.

Must Saviors Die?
~@Silver Carrot (REB), @The Irish Tree (MAG), @Restalaan (YNG), @Zaphander (SHA & FEA)~

"YAAARRRGHH!" The Varjan Champion screamed in anger as continued to try and stab Yang who had successfully taunted him and evaded his attacks. Meanwhile, Shatter's sword fragments harassed the Champion. His armor prevented him from being harmed but it did distract and stumble him. Soon, the Varjan Champion lost his footing and fell off from the prison wagon. Thereby ending his threat for the time being.

Over at the two remaining Varjans, Magnus managed to shatter the sword of the guarding Varjan with his axe with the resulting explosion blowing the Varjan Warrior from the wagon. The keybearing Varjan was now alone and vulnerable. Rebecca made her move and with one quick thrust, the Varjan Warrior was pushed off the wagon. With him gone, the wagon was finally secure.

The rescue was a success! The wagon emerged out of the trees of Udor Swamp and into grasslands. The guild group would find that the sun had begun to descend.

Emilio then laughed. "I am free again! I will write a poem about this day!" He declared. "I wish I could see Carron's face when he finds out I have defeated a hundred of his men! How I have broken free of my shackles with only my mighty strength!" He then laughed once more. "I will not forget this, Magnus at ang mga magagandang babae. You will be rewarded. Money, tribute, slaves! Anything you want!" He told the guild group.

"However, I must know the names of my saviors. I shall have your names be celebrated and vindicated! I will dedicate days to you once I have liberated Sonarra." He asked. "Also, how did you know I was in trouble? Are you new fighters for Sonarra's rebellion? We welcome any foreigners who would fight for our freedom. Even if you do not speak our tongue."

"Also Magnus, I did not know you knew a lot of pretty women. Are they your concubines or somesuch?" He addressed Magnus. "Also, where is that purple girl who was with you when you rescued me the first time? What was her name again?"

"You yourself should use your head too." The Varjan retorted by reflecting your words. "If I had wanted you dead, you would've been dead." He explained. "But we escaped Varjo for a reason. Still, that places horrors haunt us and I intend to lift these nightmares from my bro--"

The Varjan was cut off when a quick strike sent him flying back into the window from whence the two of you came from though this time, the window along with the wall were shattered from the impact. Your savior was in the form of a woman in gold hair and red armor. She also had a pair of wings behind her as if she was some sort of angel. She probably was.

"Hey there. Are you alright?" She asked you with a soft, concerned voice but there was a hint of tiredness in it. "That was a close one, wasn't it?"

At any time, Joshua and his blind worshippers or Leyanne and her crazed followers could come at anytime and wipe us off the world!" He explained. "But here... Here we are strong. The people here are weak, ripe for plunder..."

But then the mage would be proved wrong. He could not stop you from rising up against his hold before completely escaping. He was also not prepared when you came back and delivered double-legged buck right at his chest, sending him flying off by a few feet. "Damn... monster...!" He muttered. There was probably a few bones broken there.

Suddenly, something came flying out of the farmhouse where Bast was charged into. It was the Varjan who charged your gentleman ally. The armored mage used the brief distraction to cast a quick spell that teleported both him and the other Varjan away, ending the fight abruptly and not in the way you probably expected. However, the Brigands who were with them were all still there and all still unconscious.

"Ohhh..." You hear Gina stir. The Gandharva slowly got her torso up, a wing on her head. "Miss Centaur? What happened?" Taking a look around, she asked more questions. "Hey, where's the Varjan Archwizard? You know, the armored spellcaster?"

A Small Problem
~@The Irish Tree (NEP), @Eviledd1984~

Not even the nimble insect could escape Nephele's breath attack. The cockroach was bathed in the Cave Dragon's breath and promptly dropped to the floor, unmoving and paralyzed. Despite being a small spurt of breath, the paralyzing gas spread throughout the bathroom but fortunately for Maria, it was thin enough to be breathed without severe effects thanks to her monstrous physiology.

Meanwhile, Maria managed to contain the downed bug though there was probably no reason to do so at that point considering that the cockroach will not be going anywhere anytime soon no matter how much it wanted to. In any case, the small problem had been taken care of thanks to the efforts of the two monsters.

Suddenly, the bathroom doors flew open. "Hey, I heard some noises and--" Neil hastily entered the bathroom and beheld the sight before him: A Cave Dragon and a Mothwoman, both naked and fretting over a wooden bucket. Neil was probably more concerned with the naked part as his face reddened and his eyes lay upon the bare bodies of Nephele and Maria.

"I-I-I..." Neil stumbled and stuttered, unaware that he was breathing in the paralyzing fumes of Nephele. The boy never finished his sentence when the paralysis took hold, locking him into place and staring at both the naked Nephele and Maria. Neil's face was still red and he appeared to be trying to move but to no avail. All he could do was avert his eyes but try as he may, the two monsters were still in his sight.

Now the two monsters have another problem to deal with.

Yang Bethlehem

Yang didn't hide her laugh when she saw the Varjan champion fell off the wagon, heartily announcing her mirth.

"Hahaha! Lost your footing on that one?! Amateur!" She mocked him with a roar, her attention turned back to the remaining warriors but it seemed unnecessary as her companions was more than capable enough to take them out.

With that done, she let out a relieved sigh. That had went well for her first request from Bart, she thought it would have went rougher with how things quickly devolved but the new timely arrival had saved them.

@Zaphander

She turned to the one that wore plenty of armor and bowed deeply with both hands pressed against each other, similar to how one prayed to gods.

"Thank you, your arrival saved us all." She gave thanks to her in a respectful manner despite her foreign accent that clashed with her appearance and clothing. "It would have been most...terrible if you had not intervened.

Yang returned her attention back to the person she was requested to rescue, Emilio. His attitude was certainly boisterous and that got a little chuckle from her.

"I'm Yang Bethlehem, but I'm not a new fighter for Sonarra but on behalf of Bart's request for aid in this quest." She replied politely before she heard the comment on the person called Magnus.

@The Irish Tree

"Yes, sir Magnus, tell him more about me and our passionate tale." Yang teased Magnus good-heartedly with cheeky grin as she leaned to his side and jabbed his ribs gently with her elbow much to his chagrin.

She eased up her teasing on Magnus and decided to clarify the situation with Emilio. "Excuse me but allow me to clarify. This is actually my first time meeting Bart's guild members, speaking of which, has he decided on the name yet?"

Maria Falena

Maria was glad that they had dealt with the problem of the roach, However that sense of satisfaction and resolve quickly faded when Neil was paralysed by Nephele's fog. Her face at first filled with joy when she say someone that could help them further, However when the young man was still as a statue she worried that he would not recover. "Oh no..." She said in her quiet and soft spoken voice, Rushing over towards Neil wrapping her thin arms around his body pressing his face into her full and bouncy chest.

"Miss Nephele...please meet me..in my room..i..will need you help with curing him.." The mothwoman said now with concern for her guild member, Now lifting the young man in her arms cradling his head close to her chest. She knew he needed to leave form the fog covered room and some place where their is fresh air, Her plan was to take him to her room and with Nephele help she could use one of her many plants to heal him.

She had cured the aliments of varies animals form similar paralysing effects, However she had not dealt with the paralysing smoke of a dragon. But she was hopeful that she could bring Neil back, Carrying him out of the room and flying to her room hoping that Nephele would follow her. Her mind was racing and preoccupied with the well being of Neil. She had not noticed yet that she was still naked with Neil still near her. She was making great haste to her room. The bucket left on the floor with the roach that could be carried with them, It seemed Maria had forgotten her kin and would mostly likely see it alive and well. But of course a lie could be made up to hide the morality of the insect.

Eilidh looked from Gina to where the wizard had disappeared, back to Gina. "He teleported out! He escaped!" She was disappointed that she let him get away. He was clearly the ringleader, the cause of this disturbance, and a bad person. But, without his presence, the rest of them could be persuaded not to keep on attacking and stealing. But who were the people he claimed they were escaping from?

"Gina, do you know of any Varjans called Joshua or Leyanne? Our Archwizard friend mentioned them as if he was fleeing them."

She trotted over and peered into the building where Bast was. "Bast? Are you alright?" She called through the hole.

Rebecca pursed her lips when the resistance leader spoke of his plans to tell others that this was all his doing. She understood the reasoning behind it. The rebellion must look strong on its own merits. Even so, Rebecca was a strong believer in humility, and conceit, bragging or vanity irked her regardless of context or circumstance. He redeemed himself slightly by asking for the party's names.

"My name is Rebecca St. Croix of the Church of the Benevolent Queen. I have aided your rebellion before, yet I am not a member. We are of the new Guild, in the north." she replied, before coughing and blushing at the Concubine line. She looked rather indignant after that, and made no answer. It was clear that she was no concubine, but a rather proud, chaste woman. She did, however, answer Yang.

"We have not decided on a formal name yet. Several were discussed, but we felt that straying too far from 'The Guild' might confuse those to whom rumors of the Guild have reached. Also, I must thank you for our assistance, as well as you." She bowed to Yang, and then to Shatter and Feast.

Bast Ragoczy

"If I had wanted you dead, you would've been dead." Bast heard the Varjan replying, saying that he wanted to lift the nightmares that haunted their dreams or something.

Bast was already irritated and annoyed by the situation, but hearing that he could have killed Bast if he wanted was the last drop. Such audacity! Every second that it passed, Bast's expression became darker and darker. He knew he couldn't kill that man, but he wouldn't save himself from a good beating and humiliation. Bast wouldn't let someone stain his honor like that and remain unpunished...

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the second Bast was almost activating the card, a winged, golden haired armored woman sent him flying back through the same window Bast and him entered the warehouse.

"Hey there. Are you alright?"
"That was a close one, wasn't it?" Bast heard her asking with a soft, concerned, but somewhat tired voice.

"Thank you... Miss Valerie, I suppose?" Bast said, cleaning the dust off his clothes with his hands with the card still floating with blue flames around it.

"I guess that it's for the best. Neither Gina or Eilidh would be happy if I killed him." Bast murmured to himself in an annoyed tone, getting the card with his fingers and making it disappear with a flourished hand movement.

"Varjan warriors... There is no talking nor reasoning with them. It's useless to try to reason with such barbaric animals..." Bast said, with an obviously irritated expression.

"I'm sorry to show you such unsightly display, miss Valerie. But I believe you are well acquainted with the Varjans and share my point of view regarding them, yes?" Bast asked, closing his eyes and sighing, calming down himself.

But before he or the winged woman could say anything more, a familiar voice came from outside.

"Bast? Are you alright?" Eilidh asked, peering inside the warehouse.

"Don't worry. I'm ok. Irritated and annoyed, but ok. Next time I wont be so kind to give them time to talk..." He said, finishing cleaning and straightening his clothes.

"What about you and Gina? What happened with the other brigands? Are you two ok?" He asked, looking towards Eilidh.

Freyr

Freyr kept silent as Haley spoke. He was glad that she was so understanding and kind. But he knew that it wouldn't work. He knew he shouldn't have let his feelings take control of him... She was a Siren after all... She was probably used with others having feelings for her. That was probably the reason why she 'rejected' him, or at least he thought she had rejected him, in such a delicate way.

As soon as she finished speaking, Bart came back together with Talia, asking how the fence was going.

"Yeah... It's going ok." Freyr said, with a distant expression.

"Hey you two, me and Freyr are going to take a break for a bit since we've been at it for too long. But don't worry, we won't take too long. Don't really want to have fine ladies like you to be doing backbreaking work." Bart said, probably wanting to know how things went with Haley. It wasn't that Freyr didn't like Bart trying to help him, but at that moment, he preferred to be alone, but not wanting to show others that there was something going on, he simply went with him. There was also the fact that he didn't have a choice, as Bart wrapped his arm around Freyr, dragging him away.

Exactly how Freyr expected, Bart asked how things went with Haley after they walked away.

"Letting my feelings take control over me was a foolish thing to do. She is a Siren. She surely is used with others having feelings for her." Freyr said, with the same distant expression from before.

"It's probably for the best. A Viera and a Siren... Such a foolish dream..." Freyr said, sighing.

Relief washed over Magnus in a wave as he struggled to stand as the wagon bolted from the bog and onto the grass again, nearly getting his horns caught in the bars after their narrow escape. Hearing the mysterious martial artist woman pay respects to the armored knight who'd saved all of them, Magnus hurriedly did the same, Bowing his head respectfully from a safe, non-goring-with-his-horns distance. "T-Thank you so much! I-I err...just...Really, thank you! I'd have definitely died back there i-if you hadn't shown up..." the minotaur said, rubbing the side of his neck where the Varjan Champion had his blade. He hadn't been cut deeply, but...the feeling of a fatal blow still lingered. It was probably only due to adrenaline that Magnus was even standing up. Once they'd get out, he'd collapse onto his behind, muscles shivering.

For now however, he was able to remain standing, a nervous smile plastered on his face as he thought of all the countless ways they could have been totally screwed back there. If they hadn't had help...both him and Rebecca, AND Emilio would be burning back on that pyre. Before he could start blaming himself, Emilio spoke of the triumphant victory, and of the poem he'd write. While Emilio hadn't really fought too much, he definitely did save the day by bringing in the wagon. Either way, Magnus didn't mind much. He didn't contribute enough, in his own eyes, to warrant being angry about glory. A tinge of red covered Magnus' cheeks as a mention of reward came up, just feeling glad to help. Then, he remembered he was a mercenary, and cleared his throat. Before he could talk seriously though, Emilio questioned if the, admittedly, beautiful adventurers with him were his concubines of sorts.

Being jabbed in the ribs and hearing Yang's comment made Magnus' face glow bright red, his bovine ears flicking up and down repeatedly, and his small cow's tail swished about in confusion. Cupping his cheeks with his hands, Magnus tried to hide his embarrassment, especially since no doubt this was a humiliating question on Rebecca's part, being a priestess and all. "T-T-They're err...well, Rebecca is a friend, and um...I...haven't met these two. I-I didn't really read the job all the way through, but...I read you were in trouble, so I had to come." he explained, before thinking about Arletta. "Arletta was busy with something else at the Guild. I came with Rebecca, and then Yang and ...um..." turning once more to Shatter and Feast, Magnus paled a bit as he realized just how...intimidating the person before them was. So much so that he completely froze, his pink cheeks turning to a pale white as he stood stark still, feeling complete and utter intimidation. Even so, Feast could likely tell at a glance that Magnus had an abnormally high concentration of Demonic Energy about him.

Nephele calmed down some upon seeing the insect fall to the ground, the dragoness swiftly crawling down from the wall she had been clinging onto. Nervously eyeing the indents her claws had made in the walls, she wondered just how much that would take to fix. It wasn't until Neil opened the door that she realized she had filled most the room with her fog, and then she noticed that his eyes had fallen on them, nude, and wet from the bath. Thankfully the fumes obscured the more naughty bits, but the principle still mattered. She had half a mind to teach Neil some manners on knocking before entering, but Maria suggested they start trying to cure him immediately and...just flew. Like, floated right on out there. Nude. Bare naked to the world.

Pulling her own face into the palm of her hand, Nephele took in a deep sigh before she let out a tumultuous exhale, one that would start to fill the ENTIRE guild building with her fog, with the purpose of hiding Maria's dignity. Just as she was about to move to leave, Nephele's leg brushed the bucket the cockroach had been lying inside, causing her to jump and grab onto the door's top. Glowering at it, she was incredibly hesitant to keep it alive and in the guild, but...Maria would be saddened at this...thing being thrown out. Expressing nothing but disgust hidden in the fog, she carried the bucket gently with two hands, not once peering inside of it.

Passing Bart on her way out, she tugged his sleeve to explain briefly: "Neil has horrible manners." before marching on, not saying anything else. Once they reached Maria's room, she would dispel the fog with a thought, having had the foresight to grab two towels for the both of them with her tail. "Maria...you realize you're stark naked, yes?" she said, gingerly patting her friend on the shoulder. She placed the bucket with the roach inside on Maria's nightstand, shuddering as she realized she was helping keep vermin alive. Reaching over, she gently turned Neil's face away from Maria's rather generous bust, before sighing softly. "Neil...I'll assume you were raised in a barn. When a lady is bathing, knock. When anyone is in the bathroom, knock. I was raised without a bathroom, and even I know this." she explained, making dead sure that Neil could see her eyes glow the tiniest bit red, her wet hair clinging to her scalp. "Curing him isn't necessary, Maria. My poison is only effective for twenty minutes at the longest. Perhaps instead, this would be a good time for him to ruminate." Reaching over, Neil may have thought that she was about to crush his head in her palm, but instead she simply gently ruffled his hair. "...I do, however, think that you were right in trying to help where you thought it was needed. Even if you suffered for it. You may appear weak, but your heart is strong, and your health shows that you've had a caring upbringing."

Covering herself with the towel wrapped around her torso, the dragoness took a seat on Maria's bed and laid Neil's head on her outstretched tail, the cool appendage's black scales feeling surprisingly soft against his hair, seeming to have not gotten so wet. Perhaps their natural design made water glide off? "Rest will do him well enough, Maria. I-In the meantime...please, find something to put your new..."friend" in." Nephele said, pointing at the barrel, shivering slightly. People? 20 minutes. Cockroaches? Demon Lord knows how long her poison would work. "Bart would understandably be furious if it got loose."

Ars Argento

Ars was uneasy with the amount of questions being thrown his way by the priestess, but did his best to politely answer them. "The guild seems to be going well, but we don't have a name yet, no." He paused to think for a second. So, people just called them "that new guild"? By centaur, she probably meant the one from yesterday night. "I have seen the centaur, but we have not been introduced. There are a number of dangerous requests, but we are free to choose our assignments." He decided to refrain from saying he himself was just on his second assignment and both had been safe requests so far.

The way to the farm took a bit longer than he expected. "Take a look around and drive off any intruders, understood. Until we meet again." He immediately went to take a look around after Riñas left.

The field had a rabbit invasion. "Worst possible scenario..." Ars muttered to himself, looking at the rabbits damaging the crops. He had no experience with dealing with pests. He was, after all, a sheltered rich boy, even if it pained him to admit it. First, to try and drive them away somehow. All animals feared fire, so maybe he could scare them away with a spell.

Ars raised his staff, holding it with both hands in front of him, focusing his magical powers on it. That was a simple spell, but he would need to focus on it nonetheless, fire in a farm would be dangerous. It didn't take a long until a small, fist sized blue fireball was dancing around atop his staff. "Hey, rabbits, leave these crops or I'll burn you." He shouted, more as a way to psych himself up than anything, before running into the places with the biggest concentration of rabbits and waving his staff with the fireball at them. He would, of course, not launch that fireball from his staff, nor was he planning on actually touching anything with it, but hopefully the fire would scare the animals away.

"I'm Yang Bethlehem, but I'm not a new fighter for Sonarra but on behalf of Bart's request for aid in this quest."
Yang Bethlehem

"My name is Rebecca St. Croix of the Church of the Benevolent Queen. I have aided your rebellion before, yet I am not a member. We are of the new Guild, in the north."
Rebecca St. Croix

""Ah, it is most nice to meet you, Miss Yang and Miss Rebecca." Emilio repeated the names, likely to imprint them to his mind. "I thank you again for saving me.""

"T-T-They're err...well, Rebecca is a friend, and um...I...haven't met these two. I-I didn't really read the job all the way through, but...I read you were in trouble, so I had to come. Arletta was busy with something else at the Guild. I came with Rebecca, and then Yang and ...um..."
Magnus Eissenhoeff

"Ahh, so you came to help a friend?" Emilio then gave a hearty laugh. "I appreciate the sentiment, Magnus! I assure you the feeling is mutual!" He then continued. "Tayo'y magiging mabuting magkakaibigan!"

After telling Emilio to head North to the river, The party reached their intended destination where a girl with a small but secure raft awaited them. "Ah! Emilio! At ang mga taga-Guild!" She called them out. "Oh! Oh, thank you mga taga-Guild! The revolution will live on, thanks to you." She ran into the arms of Emilio who hugged her back.

"Yes indeed, mga taga-Guild. You are like siblings to me." Emilio continued after parting from the hug. "You may have said that you are working for coin for the Guild but you are still people that I need for my cause: the freedom of the Sonarran people. I assure you, you are welcome in Sonarra. If you wish to visit, you will not be harmed even if you are a monster. Trust me, I will make it known that your guild are friends of the Sonarran people." He said before boarding the raft with Maria. "Of course, I hope you will still do the requests that we will give you. I will help your guild become rich, and in return, you will win a people her freedom."

Emilio then began singing as he and Maria floated away in the river.
"O Marta. Kayganda ang iyong mga mata
Ang iyong apoy ay doon ko nakikita
O Marta. Bigyan mo ako ng lakas
Para ang pamumuno ng kalaban ay magwakas
"

The request was over. The reward was left in the ground as a small satchel containing a generous amount of gold. The guild members were free to return to the guild or go somewhere else if they desire.

"Thank you... Miss Valerie, I suppose? I guess that it's for the best. Neither Gina or Eilidh would be happy if I killed him. Varjan warriors... There is no talking nor reasoning with them. It's useless to try to reason with such barbaric animals... I'm sorry to show you such unsightly display, miss Valerie. But I believe you are well acquainted with the Varjans and share my point of view regarding them, yes?"
Bast Ragoczy

"I see Gina's already introduced me to you guys. I hope she didn't paint in a really bad light. Nah, she'd never do that." The Valkyrie replied. "And yeah, it's real hard to talk to people from Varjo. Hundreds of years of violent, twisted lifestyle will be hard to remove." Valerie then helped Bast up. "Come on, it's my turn to give our Gandharvan friend a stern lecturing."

"Gina, do you know of any Varjans called Joshua or Leyanne? Our Archwizard friend mentioned them as if he was fleeing them."
Eilidh Chiron

"Huh? Joshua and Leyanne?" Gina repeated. She was still quite dazed from the fireball but she was on her feet and gave a proper answer. "Joshua and Leyanne? They're... They're the King and Queen of Varjo respectively. They're siblings though, not married." The Gandharva then groaned as she clutched her head. "Bad news, those two. I'd explain more but right now, you should not be surprised that people are running away from them."

Once the four have regrouped outside, Valerie the Valkyrie and Gina the Gandharva immediately got to bickering. "What were you thinking?! This is my request, Gina! It's me who was chosen to handle this! Me!" Valerie shot first. "I could've handled this all without a hitch! And now you've ruined it by trying to do it with 'your' way!"

"Well I wasn't going to just stand around and let you have another bloodbath!" Gina shot back. "I don't care what that Dullahan friend of yours said! What you need to do is stay in the shrine-town and reflect or at least relax and take some time off! Not run off and indulge in your problem until you lose yourself in the passion!" The Gandharva added. "And I'd say 'my' way went along smoothly. We may have not captured the group's leaders but we have successfully taken down these men without bloodshed. And these men can't be replaced by that group."

Valerie looked at the unconscious Brigands, sleeping soundly despite the loud verbal spat. "You said the group's leaders escaped." The Valkyrie remarked. "That means your soothing song didn't work for everybody. Am I right?" Valerie turned to Bast and Eilidh, expecting them to answer that question and not Gina. "Tell me, you two. What do you think?"

Keeping The Peace
~@Kyun~

With the loud noises and the threatening flame ball, you drove off the rabbits and saved what remained of the crops. They may come back sure but after seeing a boy that may burn them to death, it was doubtful they were coming back immediately. Thus, your job in the farm was done. It was time to head on over to the abandoned parts of Boreal Port.

Night had began when you began patrolling the empty neighborhoods. The silent atmosphere made the place eerie as if something was going to ambush you at any second. Fortunately, no such event happened to you. However, you did come across a rather worrying sight. You see two men in a scuffle against each other. You have no idea why or how it came to be for these two men but it was clear that these two were fighting their hearts out.

How shall you solve this issue? Perhaps they can be scared off like the rabbits earlier?

"Whaaat?" Bart replied in disbelief. "I gave you the perfect chance and you decide to blow it? Come on man."

"And you know, if someone had feelings for her then she should've already been taken." Bart said. "And then the Haley we would have will have someone with her when she joins us or at least will not shut up about her beloved." The guild master continued. "Trust me on this, my friend. She's available! Though, just keep in mind that there are no backsies once you two hit it off. Of course, if she likes you then it's already too late."

"Oh man, what a wasted chance. Well don't worry, I'm sure another will show up in the future." Bart said. "Alright, I think we've had enough break. You ready to go back?" He asked, despite the two of you only spending several minutes for the break.

A Small Problem
~@The Irish Tree (NEP), @Eviledd1984~

"Neil...I'll assume you were raised in a barn. When a lady is bathing, knock. When anyone is in the bathroom, knock. I was raised without a bathroom, and even I know this...I do, however, think that you were right in trying to help where you thought it was needed. Even if you suffered for it. You may appear weak, but your heart is strong, and your health shows that you've had a caring upbringing."
Nephele Francine Megalos III

"I'm... sorry." Neil was still paralyzed but it appeared he was able to move his mouth now. A bit. "Wasn't... raised... in a... barn. Raised... somewhere... far... away. Very... far... away..." He first corrected Nephele. "And... thanks. But... it's... true. I'm... weak. Need... to be... stronger... to... really help." He then added. "Your... scales... feel... good."

Meanwhile, the paralyzed cockroach would then be seen climbing out of the bucket and into its rim. It had a stare off with the two monsters and the human before unveiling its wings... and flying off through the window, likely never to return. This would likely sadden one of the monsters while giving relief to the other. Regardless, the small problem was taken care of again. For good this time hopefully.

"All... that... because of a... roach?" Neil asked the two towel-wrapped monsters.

Maria Falena

Maria had brought Neil to her room at the moment not noticing that she was naked until Nephele mentioned it, She was more concerned for the well being of Neil that she had not noticed it. And with the whole guild having being filled with the dragoness fog she worried everyone else would be paralyzed, As they got to her room the mothwoman was putting on the towel given. "Thank you miss...Nephele" She said smiling and wrapping the towel around her body. Although she liked being naked she sometimes forgot that humans did not like it when you appeared to them naked.

The mothwoman was smiling at Nephele because she decided to keep the roach alive, Standing up form where she was picking up the bucket trying to get the roach into the cage she had built for containing such creatures. However it flew away and made the moth lay on her knees, Some tears rolling down her eyes because she wanted to care for him. However she knew perhaps it would be better for the roach to be free and not afraid of being squished.

"Arancia..." She said softly wiping her tears before standing back up again, She was trying to compose herself turning to face the two. "Is their..anything i can do for you?...Mr.Neil?" She asked him.

Yang bowed her head in response to Emilio words of gratitude and offer of friendship to the people of Sonarran, the addition of request and help was also welcome.

"And we will do our best to fulfill your request." She said with a smile and waved farewell to the pair, her heart was elated with finishing her first ever request.

With that, she stretched her arm and grunted satisfyingly. From her arm and then legs, she flicked her short hair backwards with a grin to her new and perhaps, life long friends.

"Sorry for the late introduction, my name is Yang Bethlehem, disciple of the white tiger temple." She introduced herself properly this time and bowed, her elbow and arm in a straight line with her left hand over her right fist. "Please be kind to me, my seniors."

"But with that aside, you don't suppose you can lead me back to the guild house?" She scratched the back of her head sheepishly, she wasn't that well versed with the geography yet. "I hurried as quickly as possible and I'm quite tired."

Being thrown right into combat was also something that burned her stamina, this part of the continent had plenty of people favoring armor and it was also a chore to go through it. They don't make armor that tough from where she came.

Shatter hissed at the knights as they fell off and the wagon left them in the dust. She was half-tempted to get out and give chance and nearly would have too, had the wagon not gotten too far already. Still Shatter got out of the cage and sat on top of the prison, gripping the edges of the bars tightly so she didn't fall. She didn't really pay much attention to the others and kept her eyes open for more threats, thus she missed out on a lot of the talking. She got a few names, but almost missed the people who were asking for hers. Using her deep, manly voice, Shatter introduced "herself".

"I am Knightmare. I have been sent here to slay your enemies. Are there any more?"

Soon it seemed like they reached their stop. A riverside with a small girl in the distance. Shatter raised her blade wondering if she was also a threat, but apparently one of the members of this little group was friends with her. He said something about a revolution for some nation she's never heard of. She was only concerned about one thing.

"If you need enemies killed, call for me."

Planting her sword into the ground, Shatter did her best to sound menacing. Feast was snoozing away, her snores heard only to Shatter. It was rather annoying since it echoed inside of the armor. As the stranger left Shatter looked to the others. She didn't know what they were suppose to do next but she hope it involved more fighting.

Magnus' reddened face turned into a beaming smile after Emilio confirmed that they were friends. It was reassuring to know that now, Sonarrans would be friendly to them...though, now Magnus was wondering what would have happened had he gone before, what with being a very obvious monster and all. Waving goodbye to Emilio and his companion, Magnus picked up the satchel of gold, figuring that they could split it fairly once they returned to the guild and were safe to count it all up. Besides, Bart needed money for the guild, too.

Now, Yang properly introduced herself, leading to Magnus bowing back to her. "O-Oh, don't worry about seniority or anything. And, yeah, the guild house isn't too far from here overall."

"N-N-Nice to meet you, Knightmare." Magnus said, trembling a bit as he greeted the intimidating knight, finally known to him by name. Knightmare to him looked more fearsome than even the Varjan champion had. "Let's head on home for now...Thanks again, you two." he said, trying his best to not piss off the heavily armed and armored individual before him while properly expressing his heartfelt gratitude to both Yang and Knightmare. Taking the front, he would get to leading his companions on home, thankfully have a good sense of direction despite the rather wild chase they'd been put through.

Nephele was about to fume more of her paralytic poison, but upon seeing the roach just take flight out of the guild building, a sigh of relief escaped her lips. Neil's question felt rather rude, and as such she saw Maria begin to weep, she poked his cheek with a claw far too sharp to normally consider doing so. "Please, consider how terrifying it is to have a small, fast flying creature buzzing about while you're nude. I doubt you'd much like it if a spider crawled from the ceiling onto your shoulder while you were reading. Same principle, really." she explained, while keeping Neil's head on her tail. Looking to Maria, she wanted to offer her some comfort at least, gingerly patting her friend on the shoulder with one hand. "There there...don't worry about them, Maria. Some things are meant to be wild and free. For now, all we can do is wish that your little friend is going to live a happy, fulfilling life doing...whatever those things do." the dragoness said, trying to not so openly display her absolute disgust at the prospect of the black bug living under the same roof as her and the other adventurers.

Whatever aid could be offered to Neil was rather minimal, though hopefully his body might build up some resistance to the poison. Humming to herself in thought, a small smile crossed Nephele's lips before she turned to Neil once more, looking him in the eyes. "You'd like to get stronger, yes? Why not ask that white haired minotaur friend of yours? Or perhaps you'd be more interested in learning magic?" she asked, wanting to help her roommate improve as an adventurer. Humans, as she'd come to know, were relatively frail creatures, and as such needed a large amount of training to match a monster in combat. However, while monsters tended to be niche in their skills, humans could largely adapt to any form of training or skillset. This was likely why Human Heroes were so fearsome in battle; Versatility won over inflexibility, after all. Perhaps...Neil could become such a hero?
