A grand smile spread across the young man’s face as his feet hit the docks of River Port. He gave a nod and wave to a few people he had gotten acquainted with aboard the ferry as they started to go their separate ways.

“Hey Eris, I suggest you let me lead the way once we reach that wicked looking port.”

This was what he had said after laying eyes on the port. Sure, he knew nothing of this place, but if there was one thing he did know, it was the night life. Meeting up with the elven princess and the side characters was an objective, but enjoying the attractions River Port had to offer were the current priority. He wasn’t surprised that Eris agreed to follow along. From his perspective, the woman definitely had eyes for him. In fact, she told him she would keep her distance so she had a better vantage point in watching everything happening around him. Wrapped around my finger and she’s not even the guaranteed love interest.

In truth, Eris was having the overconfident human enjoy his fun while she hid in and out of plain sight. If Princess Annya was here, then there were probably other humans to scope out. Kaleb was a nice catch, but if there were other impressionable ones with more to offer, why not see?

With a swagger to his step, Kaleb walked into the port town with a poised expression on his face. He should have felt some culture shock, but he honestly felt like he was on an oversized version of the set of Lord of the Kings. Sure, he had seen most of the races aboard the ferry, but now there were so many at such a large location. He couldn’t look intimidated, especially if he was trying to fit in. Dwarves, Elves, Pixies… I mean Fairies, and Demi-Humans? I figure with a name like that, they’d have a way better design… I mean way better look to them, but they’re just like those weird people that hold those conventions where they put on animal costumes. Furries, right? They’d love this shit. Despite his thoughts, he remained composed. He stared at a few people longer than he should have as he roamed around the town, but kept it pushing.

During his roaming of River Port he saw a lot of things. Three ladies being heckled by a lecherous merchant, a Dwarf with an exotic looking husky watching a Fairy as she flew over the town seemingly searching for something, and few other intriguing sorts. The sounds, the smells, and even the interactions were no different than something he had witnessed in the few major cities he had visited. The typical busyness of the town almost sucked him in and made him forget the impending doom of the terrifying war the Light Elves that summoned him warned of. He was sure it was coming sooner or later, but he’d worry about it when it came.

For now, absorbing the ambiance of River Port would only help with his method acting when he’d need it. Using Eris as a crutch to truly know this world didn’t seem wise. If he needed to adapt to Avalia, he had to jump into it and interact with it.

“Hey!” Kaleb called to a guy who looked like he was “of the people,” a normie of sorts. A guy in tune with the everyday man. He was alone, but moved with a purpose as if he was trying to meet up with someone important even though he didn’t appear dressed to impress. Pointed ears, platinum hair, and the look of a commoner… Elf for sure. He assumed based on what he knew so far. “You look like you know your way around here…” Kaleb quickly looked to his left and right for dramatic effect before continuing. In fact, there were still people walking around them. “Do you know where I can find some fun around here? I mean bars are cool, but I’m looking for a party… or a certain princess rumored to be around these parts.” He asked with a smirk.

Saoirse followed Annya up to the shop stand and raised her eyebrows. Vivacious Vixens was the name? She rolled her eyes as he began trying to flirt and offer them a side deal. Saoirse had dealt with people like this before and it took all of her willpower not to bite back. Fortunately, Annya wasn’t putting up with his shit either. She snickered as the man relented and Annya turned to apologize to them both. She waved off her apologies and eyed the outfits. Her gaze flickered between the first and the second outfit.

Chewing her lip, she finally pointed at the first outfit. It looked like something she could run, fight, and climb in. She turned to Annya and replied, ”Outfit one please. It looks like something I could fight or run in better than anything else. And don't worry, I'm used to idiots like these.” Her voice was quiet as she gestured in the direction of the shopkeeper. Saoirse turned to watch a brown haired male with blonde hair at the top walk by and vaguely recognized him; although his ears didn’t seem like a human’s. However, that was what disguises were for. Shrugging, she turned back to Annya. ”Next up, food and alcohol, right?” She couldn't help but let out a grin at the last statement. She glanced at the man and thought about stealing his stock, but that would only make a scene. Sighing, she resorted to waiting for Annya’s response and turned her back to him as to give him the cold shoulder. Nothing pissed off creeps like ignoring them.

When Nuallán offered her some of the pocky-stick, Rosaria gingerly took it. She examined it and then sniffed it. Judging by his reaction, it tasted delicious. She took a bite and eagerly continued to eat the rest of it until it was gone. ”Wow, that was delicious. Thanks Sophie!” She then nodded in agreement to Nuallán. She turned to Sophie and then shook her head. ”I am not as good as you, Sophie. You have a talent in art.” She listened to her explanation of the substance Caelan was smoking with raised eyebrows. ”Oh that’s interesting. Thank you for sharing.”

She then let out a yawn and scowled at herself. How could she act tired in front of them? How rude of her! She began to carefully take out her arrows and a knife where she began to sharpen the tip of the arrow, turning it away from others so she wouldn’t hurt them. However, her vision was blurred by her tiredness. Scowling, she set her items away and glanced at Nuallán intensely. Rosaria knew in her heart she could trust him and everyone, besides Jomari, would be safe. ”Clearly I need some rest. I trust you to look after everyone. Remember, the humans come first,” She tiredly rested her head against the curtain on the window and succumbed to sleep.

“Yeah well looks can be deceiving…” Bowyn began a flippant reply to the elf that had spoken to him. That elf had just said princess right? Couldn’t be the same princess Arn was supposedly after, could it? He studied the elf for a second, noting that he wore both smug confidence and garish purple outfit that certainly made a statement, and that statement was I need attention. Bowyn instantly didn’t like him, though he couldn’t name an elf he did like, however, the man's words had piqued his interest.

“Let me guess, Princess Annya right? You a friend of Arn or is there more than one guy on a bullshit quest to find an elven princess?” Bowyn rolled his eyes, the idea of it had been a lot more amusing twelve hours ago when he’d been drunk. The only thing worse than hanging around a dwarven royal was tossing an elven one into the mix. The flashy elf might be onto something though, a party might be just the place to find this princess. Which meant if Arn and Rue were out looking for Annya, he might find them with the princess as well.

“A party, now that might be a good place to look. Where else would an elven royal be, just as a war was declared, than in a drunken port town at a party.” Bowyn shook his head and showed no qualms about voicing his dislike for highborn elves. The Shaky Dock was just up the road but The Sand Bar was a little more unscale and seemed a more likely choice. Plus it was near the inn, and he might run back into Arn and Rue there.

“The Sand Bar might be the place, a bit nicer than The Shaky Dock, unless she likes tossing amas around, then there’s the Casino over that way.” Bowyn began pointing out likely spots to find a princess in town, thinking out loud. It’d be useful to keep the elf around, as Bowyn had no idea how he’d spot Annya unless the princess was daft enough to be prancing around in her crown. “So what’s your business with this princess, elf?” Bowyn asked, not bothering with introductions and continuing to walk ahead, expecting that if the elf was coming along he'd keep up.

Ismael messed with the sword more as he listened to Kharne. As when Kharne spoke of what to worry about when using a blade, Ismael almost laughed, 'Edge alignment? What does he think I am? A child?' Ismael let a smirk come onto his face as Kharne continued to speak. Kharne's advice was still quite useful though, after all, he would have not thought about a shield immediately, and Ismael realized that maintenance was gonna be a real killer. Of course, Ismael wants to learn how to maintain his weapons, yet blacksmithing is not something you can do while on the move and preparing for war. So making sure your gear doesn't get too damaged is much more important.

The next part that left Kharne's mouth did give him a quick sense of what kind of man he is, threatening. Yet what was stated was slightly silly, he seemed to dislike the act of spinning. Ismael let out an involuntary laugh once the sentence left Kharne's mouth, "Pp-ph, I'm assuming you are talking about excessive spinning. Yeah no, I hear ya there". That put Ismael into a good mood, it was not what he expected to leave Kharne's mouth when he tried to look as serious as possible. Honestly, it was really funny especially because Ismael used a spinning back Kick to kill the Troll, he knows high amounts of spinning can leave you exhausted and tired, yet there are times when it can create greater torque and momentum to deliver more devastating hits. He just Assumes Kharne is speaking of when using a sword, and that can make sense not to.

Kharne took a second to marvel at the device, he had never used one before. His own lungs tended to carry his messages quite clearly a good distance. "Fine, fine Annya. We'll be heading to the armorer next," He stated before clicking the end button. His gaze went to Ismael when the man laughed which got a quirked brow. "Spinning in a real fight is a death sentence to those who are fast enough. Weapons or fists and kicks, by the time you turn around fully my blade is in your spine." He stated before picking up a longsword and shifting into a more open section of the shop.

"You don't need spin to use a sword, you use the blades weight and edge to do the work." The giant said, giving a basic downward slash. It looked more like he flicked his wrists than a full arm swing like Ismael had probably seen in the movies. A horizontal slash came next and used more motion, a more sweeping motion from the arms while slightly turning at the waist. The blade stopped dead at the end of the swing before it reversed direction just to stop once more.

The blade was returned to the rack before Kharne plonked the Amas for the sword in Ismael's hands on the counter, along with some coins for a sheathe and belt. "If you need to spin to hit harder with your fists or feet you need to build up your strength. Never show your back to the enemy, never take your eyes off the enemy. Not even for a second." The dragonborn continued. Words of wisdom from someone who had been young and dumb and nearly died doing such stupid things. "If you need to learn another method to hit harder I'll teach it to you, assuming you don't already know it and just don't implement it." He man drawled before waving for Ismael to follow. Onwards to the armorer!

It would be impossible to lose Kharne as he led the way. The next shop was nearby and had the same smell, metal, leather, and burning wood and coal. Inside was different, racks of armor of varying materials and styles. A gesture from Kharne came. "Pick your gear." A simple sentence but ones armor could keep you alive or kill you.

“Yeah well looks can be deceiving…”

Looks can be deceiving, huh, I like that! Kaleb instantly liked the guy he randomly picked to lead him to either the objective of fun or to the princess he was meant to meet up with. And if the guy was two for two, then that only proved Kaleb was just an amazing judge of character or simply the luckiest man alive within the world of Avalia. Everything had gone along smoothly so far. He was able to get most of the items he wanted, he was the sole survivor of the giant snake attack, and finally he had gotten acquainted with a hot redhead elf woman with some dashing green eyes. Oh yeah, and she simply adored his hero status!

“Let me guess, Princess Annya right? You a friend of Arn or is there more than one guy on a bullshit quest to find an elven princess?” Initially, Kaleb’s eyes lit up at the mention of Annya’s name, but then he raised an eyebrow at the mention of someone named Arn. From his experience, it was better to “know” as many people as possible. It gave you some footing when networking and establishing legitimacy with new people. A white lie that would just help open up a few more doors.

“Arn? You know that jackass? Small world huh, but yes, Annya’s the one I’m looking for.” Kaleb kept his bit about Arn short to keep from saying something wrong about the guy.

“A party, now that might be a good place to look. Where else would an elven royal be, just as a war was declared, than in a drunken port town at a party.”

“As crazy as you make that sound, we both know it’s true. A spoiled brat that’s not exactly involved in the battle plans is likely just getting shitfaced to take their mind off of the world falling apart around them.” Kaleb shrugged for effect. Despite appearing to be an elf, it was clear that Bowyn wasn’t fond of the wealthier sort. Social class divide! Of course that would exist here too. Never been without the green, but I have played enough roles to roll with this.

“I mean, look at everyone else here. Now imagine if they were wealthy.” He added, drawing attention to how carefree the townspeople appeared. Then Bowyn started to mention possible locations where Princess Annya might be. The Sandbar, The Shaky Dock, and the Casino were the big three and Kaleb was more than happy to explore them.

“So what’s your business with this princess, elf?” Kaleb slightly winced his eyes at Bowyn saying “elf” almost as if it was meant to be demeaning. Weren’t they both elves? Perhaps he was a self-hating elf or there was a race Kaleb had not accounted for. Keep up the improv KC! He thought as he noticed Bowyn starting off in a direction. Kaleb quickly followed Bowyn, remaining a half step behind on the fellow’s right side. There was no way Kaleb was going to lead the way. Not yet at least.

“I’m not going to insult your intelligence. There’s only one reason why anyone might be looking for her after what’s occurred in the past couple of days. When it comes to hitting those shithead Dark Elves where it hurts, she’s the one to talk to. She’s responsible for bringing in the…” Kaleb took a moment to check his surroundings. No one was too close to overhear him if he whispered, and so he spoke. “...humans. Those capable of manipulating the forces of nature as if it’s second nature.” He was quite proud of that last bit and even smiled to himself.

“And what might your reason be for searching for the princess? No one just volunteers to help find someone out of the goodness of their heart these days. Wait, don’t tell me Arn dragged you into this. I hope he’s paying you well at least.”

Kuroi was entirely fixated on his new companion until Mikazuki sat down next to him. He blinked a few times to snap himself back into reality and looked over at the princess before bringing him up close to her face. "No...no name yet. I haven't decided yet. I was thinking something along the lines of Tamotsu or Tamo but I'm not entirely sure yet." he responded.

As Mikazuki and Slick planned out loud, Kuroi put the fox down on his lap and played around with him. Kuroi's tail was swaying around constantly as he scratched the young fennec fox's belly and behind his ears. He seemed absolutely enthralled! Although he may have seemed distracted, Kuroi's ears were turned towards whoever was speaking at the moment. It was clear that he was paying attention, he was just putting more attention on his new little friend.

Eventually, he looked over at Slick and stood up once he was invited to find a tavern. "I dislike the idea of splitting up but I trust that the princess will be safe..." he says with a small smile. He turned around and gave her a small nod before going over to Slick's side. "Lead the way. Let us find ourselves, and our new friend, some food."

Bowyn nodded, listening and thinking over what Kaleb had said, as the other man followed. This elf had confirmed Bowyn’s suspicions about Annya. Exactly what he expected of an elven princess; spoiled, selfish, and useless. No surprises there. At least this elf talked a lot of sense. Kaleb went on to suggest Bowyn imagine this town was wealthy. He gave a sad chuckle, the elf certainly had a point. No one seemed overly concerned with the war; they were shopping, drinking, and feasting. He could only imagine how much easier it was for those who lived in opulent palaces to further ignore problems when they couldn’t even see over their gilded fences.

Unlike Kaleb, Bowyn was not so concerned with secrecy as the man mentioned the humans brought to Avalia. Like most things, Bowyn had a strong opinion about this subject and he was not afraid to voice his full thoughts on the matter. He spoke casually, not caring if his thoughts on summoning humans, or the entire Biren line, bothered the elf.

“Humans, yeah, that right there; typical monarch behavior. Summoning humans to clean up their mess. Shoulda dealt with dark elves right the first time. But no, those light elves of the past chose to keep their hands clean, push their problem off to the rest of Avalia and ignore it until it turned around to bite them, and all the rest of us, right on the ass. And now they’re still trying to pass this shit off. To an alien race. Can you imagine? Snatching up creatures from an entirely different world to use them as pawns in a war. A war they caused. Between you, me, and the rest of the damn world, the entire Biren family is one big shit show. Humans didn’t deserve this.” It didn’t matter to Bowyn how powerful they could be, only that they never had a choice in coming here.

“And I do not work for Arn, and I’m not helping you. I work for me. I’m helping me. Look at me, you think I hang out around princesses? Don’t even know what she looks like. You, you kinda look like you might. But I met Arn at a tavern and thought it sounded like a good idea to find this Annya, see if I could help cause the dark elves pain. And that is not out of any goodness in the heart.” Bowyn wondered about the elf, how he knew Arn, if he had worked for him, or if he was still working for him.

“And let me know if you see Arn around. He’s with a friend of mine; similar complexion, but better looking, and she’s still got the wings.” He added, vaguely describing Rue. He kept an eye on the elf, to see if he’d seen Arn and Rue around, and to see how he’d react. If Arn was up to something maybe this elf who knew him would know something about it.

Yeah, there was no chance this would go by unnoticed. Oh well. In for a penny, in for a pound, looks like it's the resistance for this one. Not that I'm very keen on the king's apparent loyalties anyway...

Aiko had, at least, brought themselves inside before her companions began to draw attention to the change. "Ah, yes, it's me. A very well hubba bubba to you, too," she mimicked the motions of the surprised lioness, moving her hands lightly over her changed curves before approaching Nabarra on the bed.

"You haven't given her the potion? Hmm... Well, let's start by redressing her wound. You smell it, too, don't you, Yuka? Dressing soaked in potion aught to do something? Makes sense to me, anyway. I don't think I have anything for poison, though... If she's really been poisoned, we may need to find help. I'm more accustomed to treating hangovers." Aiko looked the dark elf over once before moving elsewhere in the room, rifling through a few pieces of furniture before producing a small spool of cloth and a clean rag, "fresh bandages."

With that, she started to change the dressing on Nabarra's wound. Orias could probably locate it for her, or she'd just have to find it, but she wasn't shy about removing the necessary items of clothing, either. As if a succubus would be.

“Me? Lead the way?” Slick was quite amused with Kuroi allowing him to take the lead. “Well it’ll be my pleasure.” The man grinned as he walked forth rather comfortably. It was almost as if Slick had visited this place before, but he was just a man comfortable in his own skin wherever he was. It also helped that the only language he heard and saw was English. There were some strange terms and titles, but it wasn’t as out there as the stuff he heard while drugged. There was little to nothing said between the two due, most likely due to Kuoi placing most of his attention on the new member of the party, and Slick trying not to get them all lost in the strange town. It wasn’t until he spotted what was unmistakenly a bar, that Slick spoke up.

“Bullseye! Looks like a fine spot for a meal and a drink.” Slick was happy with his find and looked to Kuroi for some kind of validation. His eyes caught the face of the fennec fox. “I’ll assume since most people here are of a particular… breed, that pets are probably allowed inside.” Slick was not sure if that was offensive or not, so he just looked straight ahead so the two could beeline to the bar entrance. The tattered wooden sign over the doorway read “The Rattlesnake Bar.”

Once the two were seated at the bar, Slick raised his hand to remove his hat and cowl, before remembering why he wore it in the first place. Dropping his hand, he made it his job to lock eyes with the male bartender with the mug of a tiger before putting up two fingers.

“Two beers and give me somethin’ sweet to eat.” He winked to indicate he was placing his trust in the bartender’s choice.

Kaleb took the chance to listen to Bowyn’s gripes with the events of the current conflict. The history from his point of view was something to note if he was going to make a good impression on someone else later down the line. So there is an opinion against the summoning of humans to solve the problems of this world. Thinking about it in the way Bowyn explained it, made the Light Elves seem pretty fucked up, but also desperate. If Kaleb could relate to any of it, it was that acts in desperation were never the cleanest. The group of elves he had shared a few moments with before their demise had mentioned sending him back once he helped them score a win, but… that’s if they won. Unlike a movie, this story didn’t have a script for Kaleb to read off of. Sure, he was confident he’d pull off some epic shit, but a happy ending was not exactly assured for him or the rest of the cast. But with the choice gone and the Dark Elves gunning for him, what were the humans meant to do but fight?

The plot thickens…

As Bowyn started sharing what motivated him in finding Annya, Kaleb gave a few nods until the mention of him looking like he might be someone in Annya’s company. He craned his neck back with a look of disbelief as if to silently say “no way!”

At the same time, however, Kaleb did like the idea of being viewed as having high status. Even here, a guy’s got the presence of greatness… Prince Carter or maybe even King Carter. Kaleb smirked to himself with thought and missed the part of how Bowyn and Arn got acquainted. Only catching the tail end of Bowyn’s sentence, Kaleb replied.

“Kinda brutal, but we need that kind of tenacity. As you said before, it was the half-measure type of thinking from the Light Elves that caused all of this to transpire in the first place."

“And let me know if you see Arn around. He’s with a friend of mine; similar complexion, but better looking, and she’s still got the wings.” Kaleb averted his eyes away at the mention of Arn as this time he was tasked with possibly identifying the man he claimed to know but had never seen. Kaleb didn’t even know Arn’s race! But the friend. All but one feature he described stuck out. The wings… Wait. ‘Still got the wings?’ Does he mean that he had wings? So he was a fairy too? He looked at Bowyn with a raised eyebrow.

“Hair color too? I think I spotted a Pix- sorry, Fairy like that. There was a dwarf with a really large dog looking up at her. It was like they were trying to keep her in their sights from the little I remember.” Kaleb said casually while not realizing Arn was the dwarf.

Myra couldn't help but feel happy as Astra praised her, putting her hands on her hips with a proud expression before she sat down, focusing her attention on the steak she had just stolen. She was about to take a bite when one of the demi-humans she had stolen the meat from shouted something, clearly unhappy with Myra's actions. She didn't really understand why were they mad at her. They weren't really eating the meat, so she just took it. Before Myra could do anything though, Vrexen was quick to intimidate them, taking a big bite from the pork belly while glaring at them. Knowing Vrexen and Astra most probably had everything under control and noticing that the demi-humans didn't seem to have the courage to approach them, Myra simply shrugged before she turned her attention to her dish once again.

Delighted, Myra kept eating while Vrexen and Astra dealt with the unhappy demi-humans. That was, until Astra said something and Vrexen reacted in a very extreme manner. Immediately letting go of her steak, Myra quickly got looked towards Vrexen, with a cautious posture. She still remembered what Vrexen did last time and how... 'unstable' Vrexen could be, so whenever she saw or heard such a reaction coming from him, she immediately became wary and cautious.

Strangely enough, Vrexen went back to normal as suddenly as he altered himself, with only a few words from Astra. Myra had a small impression that Astra was getting better and better at dealing with Vrexen's temper, which was good for her. That meant that as long as she was near Astra when Vrexen acted like that, she would somehow find a way to be able to calm him down. With that idea, Myra made sure to push her chair a bit to the left, so she was sitting closer to Astra before she sat down again to eat finish the last bite from her stolen meat.

Nuallán couldn't help but to notice how Rosaria's expression changed after she caught herself yawning and forced herself to stay awake by making herself busy. He watched her fighting against her fatigue with a saddened expression. He knew, more than anyone, how much pressure the world was putting on Rosaria's shoulders and despite how strong and perfect she appeared to be to everyone else, he knew how much effort she made and how much she demanded from herself in order to meet the expectations that others had from her. The moment their eyes met, Nuallán made sure she knew what he was feeling by the way he looked at her. A silent plead for her to not demand too much of herself and to take care of her own health.

"As you wish, my lady." Nuallán said with a formal tone and a kind smile, hiding the dissatisfaction from hearing Rosaria once again putting others in front of her own well being.

It didn't take long until Rosaria was asleep, in fact, she fell asleep pretty much the moment she laid her head against the curtains, a clear indication of how tired she was.

Standing up, Nuallán approached Rosaria as he slowly and delicately lifted her head with one of his hands as he bunched up the excess curtain, forming a small, improvised 'pillow' for Rosaria to rest her head upon.

Before he sat down, Nuallán gave a quick glance towards the group, to those who weren't asleep, giving a small nod as he pressed his finger upon his lips, asking them to refrain from disturbing Princess Rosaria's rest.

Despite all the trouble caused, the trio finally settled and dined to their satisfaction. Myra and Vrexen were served another helping of food by the cautious server, Lusha, while Astra decided to get another round of mead to cope with being in the company of two wild demons. Lusha eventually and reluctantly brought the bill and set it in front of Astra as she was believed to be the lesser of three evils. The wary server found Myra to be some kind of Beast-man, and Vrexen to be some mad psychopath that might have recently escaped some sort of prison. Astra eyed the bill and nodded, finding it reasonable and glad to see the food Myra “acquired” omitted from it.

“Look here you two. Four roasted pork bellies, four tankards of mead, and one order of delicious cheesy prawns.” Astra traced her index finger down the list of food items before pointing straight at the total. “Thirty-three amas is the price and that is what we pay. And then we simply leave. Easy.” Astra set the amount of thirty-three amas down on top of the bill before getting up with a smirk. “This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the power of amas.”

“You surrendered something for what you desired… That is far from what power is.” Vrexen commented as he got up and followed Astra. He shot a glance at the feline Demi-humans who averted their gaze as the three walked by. “The power of dominance is still more appealing.”

Once they finally entered the room, Astra hopped up to take a seat on top of the clothes dresser and faced Vrexen and Myra, the former eyeing the room. He sniffed air before shrugging. “This area is meant to keep us out of the elements and rest before we travel again?”

“Mhm. It’s a room with a bed that I don’t think you will enjoy very much. It’s for more delicate creatures like Myra and myself, but there is plenty of room on the floor.” Vrexen actually chuckled. It had taken Astra aback as she initially assumed he was onto her deception.

“Delicate is not the word I would use for her, but she seems to enjoy this bed. We can rest and begin again once we wake.” Vrexen proposed, but Astra was not ready to rest just yet. After what occurred at dinner, Astra felt there were far too many gaps in her knowledge of the two she was in company with. She was aware of the following facts concerning the two demons:

They both had keen senses, claws and sharp teeth, especially Myra.
Vrexen was a stranger to this world, Myra was just a stranger to society.
Vrexen could speak with limited understanding of certain concepts, Myra could barely speak
one word with the ability to understand more than one might think.
Vrexen could grow twice his size, Myra could become invisible similar to a Light Elf.

Astra wondered what more the two could do.

“Sounds like a good start, BUT if we want to make a plan beyond that, we’ll need to know where our strengths lie. I need to learn so much more about you two. Demons are a rarity. So much that you two are the first I’ve actually met in person. That I know of…” She briefly gave this some thought seeing how simply she blended the two of them in by simply adding clothes. “Anyway, the only thing I know is that your kind have some interesting abilities. And me knowing those abilities and generally more about you are what’ll ensure our mutual success... Myra! Up up up! You go first! Show us what all you can do! Show us what helped you survive for so long in the wilds.” She exclaimed.

Vrexen couldn’t really argue against Astra’s logic. Cooperation within the Abyss was rare and fleeting, but things tended to work out better when you knew the capabilities of those around you. As a bonus, you knew how to kill those around you when their usefulness expired. His eyes focused on Astra before looking at Myra. When will your usefulness expire, young sister?

899 Amas.

There was something mesmerizing about Rue’s smile that captivated Arn and almost made him forget how much like jerk and total shit he felt. The sideways smile which spread asymmetrically across her face reminded him of the waning moon as it hung in a clear sky. The pale pearly tone of her skin made it seem as if the moon was reflecting off a icy lake. Of course the pale blue of her eyes were not lost on the dwarf. Nor where the diamond sparkles of the tears that gathered on the outer rims of her stunning eyes.

Because they were so clear and eye catching, the expression that the fairy’s eyes portrayed were magnified. The young dwarf saw in them true caring for her village friend and relief that the soldier was at least graceful enough to not prevent her searching for Bowyn. There was also hurt in them however.

“Is that my doing?” The dwarf thought. A small pang of guilt stabbing at his heart. He did not fancy the thought of being the reason why those tears pooled.

“Or could it be because of Bowyn?” It was obvious that the two fairies had history. What that history might be still eluded him. What was certain was that the male fairy was trying to somehow push the other away. There was hurt and anger in the winter fairy lad. Arn had seen it many times in the eyes of those who had lost some part of their body or somebody they were close with. The medic saw the same emptiness in the light blue eyes of Bowyn.

This sort of wound was something not even his extensive medical knowledge nor his in depth battle experience could ever hope to cure. There was no magic balm or prescription of treatment. Only time…time and caring could ever hope to come close. Even then, the young soldier knew, the scar would be as disfiguring and evident as a person who has suffered serious burns. A sigh escaped his lips.

”Moonlight is his name, but I call him Moony. I’ll make sure not to fly too fast.”

Arn nodded and looked down at the wolf. Itself a magnificent creature. Like his companion, the wolf’s eyes were the most captivating feature. The intelligence reflected in them obvious. The medic watched as the animal studied him. A slight hint of distrust and warynes reflected in the canine gaze. “Well, since I believe I have not earned the right for the shortened familiar version. I shall address Moonlight by its proper name.” The medic smiled at the wolf trying to show he was no threat.

The dwarf stepped aside hurriedly as the lovely fairy lass took flight. His big brown eyes blinked a few times at the curious sight. He was not the only one captivated by the unique scene. Rue’s wings became little more than a blur. The soft wind emanating from them much too peaceful in comparison to the force being exerted to levitate the fairy no matter how petite the young lass was. Perhaps this paradox was circumvented by the magical nature of the fae.

The young medic hurried after the lovely winter fairy and the wolf. His short legs moving quickly. He cursed the fact that he had not shed his armor. Thankfully, his stout legs had developed muscles over decades of basically living in armor for weeks at a time. It was like a second skin to him. In fact, it was said that Legionaries were basically naked out of armor. Still, much like the looks that the fairy and wolf received, the hustling armored dwarf also got lingering gazes.

The dwarf came out of the inn just in time to see the flying fairy direct her wolfen companion. Obediently the animal put his nose to the ground and began sniffing out the venting white haired lad. Noticing that the hovering fairy looked in his direction Arn gave her a thumbs up and motioned her to move along. He pointed to himself and then towards a different street. It would indeed be best if they just split up. This was not truly selfless in search of Bowyn. Much like the fairy lad, the young medic also needed time to himself. He had wanted to walk about the town anyways. Tracing a circle over his head, which meant gather in military hand signals, he pointed to himself and then the inn. He mouthed. “Its ok. I’ll come back.” He hoped that the young lass was able to be satisfied with that.

Giving Rue one last confident and comforting smile, the dwarf started towards the selected street. His stature made his head weave in and out of the crowd to her point of view. There were few dwarves in River Port despite the closeness to Iron Hold. Those that found themselves in the trading town where merchants or the few who were plagued with the need to travel the world.

The young soldier turned and saw his winter fairy companion hover in the air. Rue looked so free and in her element. She was designed and meant to fly. Even her countenance changed. The moon shone off her pearly skin so naturally that Arn wondered if he was not dreaming while awake. What would it be to be so free? To be unbound by the burden of being land bound. To be able to see the world in a different view. He took a deep breath and almost envied any able to have the whole of the heavens as their play ground. The he remembered the queasy feeling of nausea and dread as he rode in the Helius and suddenly he was not so jealous. “Nope” he muttered and turning his head away from the lovely fairy he made his way through the crowd. Who knew what his searching would produce.

Time: Dusk
Location: River Port
Interactions: Kharne @Kazemitsu
Armor:
None
Weapon(s):
Steel Longsword

Inventory: A rogue-ish set of clothing, his dog tags, and a set of faux demihuman Wolf ears, a Ring of Disguise, two rations of food, water flask, a bar of soap and a few other portable hygienic products.

Ismael watched Kharne speak into his wrist and was slightly astonished that communications were so easy in one regard but also feels so outdated in others. Maybe it was to make the lives of some people easier while keeping others down. But who truly knows? Yet once Kharne hung up he switched back to Ismael and still wished to continue the conversation on spinning. Ismael watch Kharne move, his swings were fast, and his blade work was actually quite solid, his strength wasn't the only thing that kept him alive. Ismael knew what he was gonna say though, it was obvious that they both had a different philosophy on the idea. Sure Ismael was in agreeance that spinning is a bad habit to have, yet the thing that Ismael seemed mostly on about was the fact that many techniques, with both Hand-to-Hand and sword styles, use some form of spin or turning to not only create greater force but also as a way to maneuver around attacks.

Yet this was not a fight for today, that'll probably be something they will need to work past on a later date. Ismael did have some interest in what Kharne has to offer, after all, it would probably be some skill that would be useful against much larger foes, like those trolls. Yet either way, next to come was something Ismael knew was gonna be the thing he wanted the most, armor. A weapon is fantastic, yet armor to keep your squishy bits intact was essential, especially with hundreds of diseases and other illnesses that he doesn't even know exist or not. A wound could be a death sentence here, so Ismael wished to have kept those fears at bay by making sure his body wasn't even in the line of fire.

The walk over was easy, Ismael never needed to look far, after all, being tall made it easy to see over others, and with Kharne being his guide, Ismael had no worry on losing him in this city. As once they entered the armorer, Ismael's eyes scanned the entire inventory, Ismael wished for a few things, mobility, defense, and lastly a little bit of style. Ismael knew he was a larger man and had carried around gear for hours that was far too heavy for any sane man to carry, but that was the Military for you.

Ismael immediately gravitated to something very similar to the gear the US Military would give their troops. A strong and protective armor for the chest and head, and the armor for the rest of his body would be second. Yet Ismael knew he needed to protect a few other parts of his body in case of different attacks, the next part would be his Forearms and Calves, he knew he wished to keep them protected, those were important and if either takes an injury, that could spell death in a close-range engagement. So he wished to get heavier leather there and some metal plating yet wished to have anywhere metal met metal would be covered in leather to dampen the noise created. Ismael wanted Metal on his armor, steel at that, yet he wished to keep it as minimal as possible, as the clattering of gear could make you found when you try to move in silence.

Soon Ismael's eyes landed on exactly what he was looking for. Like it was hand-picked to best suit everything he wished, a set of Steel Half Plate. Not only did it give him protection in every place he wanted, but also it would give him enough mobility and flexibility when it is time to fight. The one thing Ismael slightly disliked was the large red head-dressing the helmet has. It would probably be a large hazard that would make it very easy to grab and take control of, yet Ismael thought it looked so cool.

Ismael is more than pleased with the armor, the only problem is that the armor would need to get made to his size, Ismael wasn't as large as the tower Kharne was, but Ismael wasn't the size of the average man. Well, that's what Ismael thought, until the Smith started pulling out all sorts of different pieces of leather armor for different sizes, as he started combining different pieces together to fit Ismael, as the ordeal took a bit of time, but ended up with Ismael being fitted with the armor he wanted that day. Well most of it, the metal parts need to be fitted a little more so they'll need to grab it later. But the leather armor and gambeson are all fitted to him. Now all Ismael needs to do is grab a shield. Ismael's immediate thoughts ran to a buckler, it's light, easy to maneuver, and easy to replace.

Yet he thought about something, What if I need to grab something? The buckler would then need to be dropped so Ismael started looking at the other shields. Many were far too heavy to fit his exact wants, some took too much hand room, and some were just too cumbersome. Honestly, it got to the point Ismael thought about putting some heavier metal on his left hand to take the blows until something struck him. He remembered during one of their trips down to Africa, they were given spears and shields as a gift of friendship. That's when someone began just spouting nonsense for hours about his Scottish heritage, which reminded Ismael of the Scottish Targe. Normally in that same hand, they would hold both a dagger and the Shield. So Ismael started looking, as now knowing what to look for made his search much easier, as asking for some quick guidance showed him to his destination. Ismael found the shield he was looking for, a Steel Targe that had room for his hand in gloves. But still allowed him to move it back to rest on his wrist and forearm fully to allow his hand to be completely free.

Ismael was more than pleased with his time here, he found exactly what he wanted, and honestly, he thought he'd look pretty cool in his armor and weapons. Who knows, maybe he was meant to be a Knight? Well, such ideas are for a different time, Ismael takes up his newfound gear for Kharne to pay for it.

Kharne simply watched Ismael wander about the shop gathering things with a purpose. The experienced reptilian eyes lingered on each piece the man grabbed before nodding his approval. Protect the vitals with heavy armor, but keep a higher mobility for the limbs. Personally the behemoth would have put chain over the leather but he didn't know how much the younger man could carry around. That was part of the reason why he had his own custom armor, it could be called partial plate because it left the front of his torso completely open while the back had sliding plates to allow for flight.

When Ismael was fully suited up, with a targe surprisingly, he paid for the gear. "You're going to want to work your arms a bit. Holding a shield and sword can be tiring to those not used to their weight." The giant rumbled. Well his minion was kitted out and it was too late in the day to work the smaller man. Well now it was time to introduce him to local food and drink, which meant going to a pub. Kharne would probably be the only one of the entire group not drinking alcohol.

"Alright, now that you're wearing protection we can relax somewhat. I recognized the place the ladies are at and it's near a nicer place than where I'd normally go." He stated before leading the way. Again he weaved through what people were around very easily. His pace steady to keep Ismael in view and to let the shorter man keep up. A third time it didn't take him long to get from point A to point B, almost like he memorized the streets of the town when last he had been here.

Ismael was quite pleased with his findings, he found everything he wanted, and honestly, Kharne didn't seem to look at it with incredulous eyes, so that meant he must have done something right by this World's standards. Kharne did bring up a good point though, Ismael needed to work his arms, not to gain more strength because of him being weak, but because he isn't used to holding such weapons. So the muscle groups needed to really be effective weren't as targeted as his other muscles which he trained for either knife work, Gunmanship, and all sorts of other forms of combat of his time. Here they used swords and shields, which have muscle groups differently needed. Yet Ismael thinks he'll be able to handle it, after all, Ismael isn't a slouch.

Kharne then spoke again, now pointing out that with talking to Annya over the strange bracelet that he knows where are, as with a swift turn Kharne began to lead the way. Ismael didn't really think to say much, after all, where they were going meant that they will be finding food, and that is honestly the thing Ismael wants. Rations can fill you, but Ismael already served his time to the Military, he wished for some real food. And with Kharne's steady pace, they were able to meet up with the girls before they went too hard on the alcohol.

Annya loudly sighed in relief and smiled at her, ”Saoirse! Thank goodness you picked that one! I was afraid you were going to pick the ugly one.” She collected the clothing for her and placed it in her arms. If Raven requested an outfit at this point, she also would have purchased it. Turning to the shopkeeper, she narrowed her eyes with a sharp change of mood. Rummaging through a pouch, she grabbed some amas and aggressively tossed them at him. ”Seventy. Amas. Count them if you want.” She couldn’t control her annoyance. Being a princess meant many possible suitors were pushed toward you. When she had been young, marriage had been pushed on her with great importance, and having to deal with the untasteful comments of unfavorable suitors was not something Annya enjoyed recalling and she certainly did not want her girls to have to recall more than necessary.

The man glared back at her, hiccuping before boldly telling her,” You know a nice face will only take you so far with an ugly personality!”

Was he serious? After the dreadful words he had dared to spew into the air? ” The nerve...”Annya rolled her eyes and snapped back at him with little patience, quite impulsively,” Your face and personality are both ugly so you must have never moved anywhere in your pathetic life. That’s why you still work here, drinking your misery away and harassing your buyers.” She whirled away from him rapidly and took Saoirse and Raven’s hands, ” Let’s go. Saoirse, do you want to go back to the Inn before we go drink so you can change into your new outfit before we go drink?”

Before they could move very far, the sound of glass shattering all over the wooden boards below them filled the air. When Annya looked over, the shopkeeper stood with a look of fury in his eyes glaring at them. His lip was quivering and his eyes seemed to be almost tearing. He picked up a club from the side of his table.

Uh oh. Struck a nerve. Again.

Yuka picked up the potion at the mention of it and sat down, "I can do that right now Aiko!" She then paused. Nabarra was unconscious so she wasn't going to just open wide. She set the potion down again and began to try to pry Nabarra's mouth open. She adjusted her grip so that one hand was attempting to hold the mouth open while the other hand grabbed the potion. She popped the top off with her teeth and tried to pour it in unceremoniously, cooing down to her, "Come on Nabby. Pretend it's bodily fluids and I bet you'll just gulp it right down!"

She laughed a little to herself as she tried to get the potion in Nabarra and glanced at Aiko, "Oh yes. My sniffer caught scent of that for sure. We can either go out and find an antidote ooorrr take her to the healing center and make it someone else's problem. Those are the choices! Or..." She patted Nabarra's cheek gently after, "Come on! Don't let some dumb poison get you down! Wake up and see Aiko's beautiful breasts!"

She glanced again at the other two, still smiling despite the situation, "If that doesn't work, then we have a problem." She returned her gaze to Nabarra as she slowly stood up again. For a moment it was like a flash of the past replaced the scene before her. In Nabarra's place was a little feline child with some ice on her bruised head and a big quilt blanket covering her tiny body. Her own little voice echoed in her head.

You have to get better before mama gets back.

She reached out her hand forward toward her the image of her young sister. Her own arm for a moment seemed as if it had returned to its younger state. A flash of her mother as she loomed over them with an angry face interrupted the picture. Her pupils dilated. Then it all vanished. The walls returned to their wooden flavor away from that cheesy floral wallpaper they used to have in their old home. Nabarra took the place of the young demihuman child. Yuka's arm retracted backward.

Why am I thinking of you now?

She shook her head as if to shake the images and rising emotions away. There was no need for all that. It was pointless and in the past. Her mission was clear now... Yes, that's what it was. She had started today on that mission and now she had been sidetracked. A reminder to make sure things were going according to plan. What a clever brain you are.

Yuka's grin soon returned as she said, "You know. I could go fetch a poison antidote. I don't mind being I am a very nice person and all. Green potion from the shop will do the trick."
