There seemed to be a lot going on in the mess hall, but Manny didn't have much to do with it. Nor did he have a solid idea of what was going on. Though he was curious, he was ready for things to settle down a bit. Sitting by Lisa after getting his food he ate at a comfortable pace. Sure, the time wasn't too long for food. But it was long enough that he didn't have to rush as long as he didn't get too distracted. It seemed things were pretty calm overall where most of the people were sitting which was nice.
Snapping back to where Manny was sitting, seemed that is was primarily him and Lisa. "I think I will be heading over today." Talking about the funeral, though he wouldn't admit he felt weird about it. He actually didn't know anyone who had died. The closest being Gavin who had died in front of him when he chose to save Thana... who was mobile almost instantly. Manny knew he let that get to him more then he should have, but he couldn't let it go. What would have happened if he had decided to try and save Gavin first? Would Thana have died? IF that was the case was there even a decision he could have made then? Especially with what he knew now? He stopped himself from thinking those thoughts. There were better things to think about. "I'll do whatever I can though before I leave. No reason to slack off on my part because I am leaving early. The opposite as long as these old bones will let me." It was a simple conversation that Manny enjoyed, the simple ones were the best in his mind.
As the conversation moved on, he found it continued to his time here so far. "The sleep was good. The morning alarm will take some getting used too, but I have worked with worse." Being the only doctor of his former dentist office years ago, made it so he always had a busy schedule. Sure, he enjoyed the work, but it was long hours back to back. This felt pretty standard for the old doctor. "So, if given the chance what would you like to get into? Career wise I mean. Like is there a specific area in medical that peaks your interest? Or is there something outside of medical that you would like to try someday?" Everyone has dreams, and depending how this place worked, many former world dreams could still apply here.

Lunch was weird. Granted Hunter thought this whole place was weird. And people were weird. And fish were weird. And just so happen that lunch had all of the above. He was thinking about what the guy named Guy said. Could that mess himself and ash really be cause by one person? And if so, that seemed like a logistical nightmare, having two people dedicated to cleaning one room that was messed up from one person. It didn't make sense. But that wasn't his to to make sense of it. If the people here really wanted to do that then fine, whatever. The guy named Guy seemed nice though, and put in a good word for Ash. Not that he had too much against Ash, and most of what eh did have against him was following quarantine.
He heard a comment about being back on his feet coming from Bass. Hunter didn't take any malice from him when he said it, in fact it seemed nice. But for some reason, he felt like he wanted to fight Bass. Particularly take a lunch tray and whip it sideways like an axe. He didn't, but Hunter stared at the man with deep thought as he sat comfortably in his seat. Hunter wasn't sure why he felt such aggression towards the man, but maybe he reminded Hunter of someone he knew. But if that was the case then who? Surely if Hunter hated someone that much he would remember them? After a failed attempt at a quiet apology towards Nigel, he wondered how badly he fucked up the night before with how many people responded to his comment. Mostly what he thought was "Oh shit who else do I have to apologize towards?" He wasn't sure, but he was sure he would find out. Hopefully not at knife point. What surprised him was that it wasn't scorning, but... people were accepting his apology. He didn't really expect that. Sure, people tolerated him, but he didn't expect.... all of this. Even Ash, the former army Captain offered to talk about his problems and how he got past them. Hunter figured he may take him up on that offer.
Hunter was confused when Nigel said he knew who needed the apology the most. And Hunter at that moment. Had no idea. And it showed on his face. It wasn't until he noticed Nikki walking in he understood. "Oh.... shit. Right...." Hunter got up, dealt with his tray, and walked over to Nikki. He knew if he wasn't fast he was going to be late, but this needed to be done. Hunter rushed across the mess hall and went up to Nikki and Amelia. He didn't know much about Amelia other then she was close friends with the other girl, and that she brushed him off when they were in quarantine. He found it weird, but moved on as he had his own priorities. "Nikki, I am short on time so I will make it quick. First, sorry because I will have to leave the moment I stop speaking here. Next, I think I did some pretty stupid things last night, so sorry for that too I don't know what exactly... I said or did... but I remember you being upset so... sorry. I'll make better steps to not do...what I did last night again." He stopped for a moment to catch his thoughts. Then spoke again. "I also understand that if what I am saying now means nothing compared to what I did last night, from what I can gather it seemed pretty.... bad. So sorry again... but I have to go... Izibel needs to go out before I go back to work...." He left with nearly no time to spare. He gave a wave to Amelia because fuck it. Best case scenario he could figure out why she brushed him off. Worst case scenario, she got all confused and her confusion would amuse Hunter.
Hunter ran to his apartment, unsure of the time, but knowing this needed to be done. He was met by his massive body of love and muscle opening the door. He let her know what a good girl she was, and took her outside to poop in the designated area. He rushed her along as she wanted to take her time, and then despite his loving dogs protests, brought her back inside. Though he did spend a moment petting her and letting her know it wouldn't be forever. He wasn't sure of that but she seemed like she needed the reassurance.
