ASSASSINATION IN THE SENATE!

The Clone War rages on with no end in sight. Despite Kamino providing the bulk of its resources, the Republic still must purchase droids for specialized and/or menial tasks, such as serving as legal assistants to Galactic Senators. Two days ago, a translation droid in the employ of Senator Brijes Davibroa, a popular politician from a Core World, killed him during a session of the senate. The droid was apprehended and surgically studied, yet no clues have been found yet as to what prompted the killing. There are whispers that Separatist hackers are responsible, and that no droids in Coruscant can be trusted. But yet without them, the Republic would fall.

It is up to Jedi Knight Raynor Blake, padawan Kaylelia Stymerr, and droid MZ-33 solve the mystery before more blood stains the Senate floor...
The detonation shook the ship Emzie and Commander Raynor were inside of, sending tiny spider-webs of cracks through the glass of the bacta tank, but by some miracle it held. Emzie would be able to confirm on their scopes that the droid factory had been completely destroyed. The flashing lights of battle in orbit around the planet continued, but the sounds did not reach them - all they would hear was the occasional crash of burning debris, falling from the sky. The mission was concluded here. The casualties had been many. The cost was high.

But for the Republic, they would pay any price.

@Nallore: the New Zealander takes her hand, shaking it firmly. "I'm John," he introduces himself, not giving a surname. He turned his head, as if hearing something that Diana couldn't hear, before returning his attention to her. "It's insane, isn't it? A wrecked Kree ship and they're just letting us comb through it, instead of putting it to good use... Imagine what we could do with all the resources the Avengers just leave as scraps..." His eyes seemed distant for a moment, clearly mulling something over. "Like let's face it, we're killing the planet. And Stark and Richards and all the big names, they don't give a shit. When the Earth goes to hell, they'll save themselves and leave the rest of us to die. Instead of letting ships like this rot, we could be using them to travel to other planets - hell, even Mars - and give the rest of the world a fighting chance. I bet they could reverse climate change in a weekend if they really tried. We could have a living Earth and resurrect those dead planets, if they just gave a shit... Sorry, I'm monologuing," he apologized with a slight laugh.

@PatientBean@Blizz: Leah's phone will show that April read the message, but there's no response. If this post is one that needs to be fade to black for your characters (as I think it will be), you could replace it with a post describing maybe the first time Leah and Sabine met? Or describing a significant event in your characters' pasts. Either way works! (And open to other ideas).

@Ever Faithful@Trainerblue192@Achronum@Forsythe: "Oh, um, I'm great!" Teddy answered, seemingly snapping out of it somewhat. "Like Frosted Flakes." He then paused, realizing that maybe Ardere didn't know what Frosted Flakes were. Did they still make them? Was he old now? He could only be four years older than her - so she had to know about Frosted Flakes. "What about you, Ardere - how are you?" he then asked, as sweat dripped from his face.

He opened his mouth, about to say something at the fight brewing between Vicky and Dorian, before he closed it. He was getting overwhelmed with all of this. And each time he snuck a glance at Danni, his heart short circuited. He wished he really was a bear. Bears didn't have to deal with all of this.

"Happy birthday!" Teddy then blurted. "How old are you?" he asked, before wincing. Gods, why did he have to be cursed to sound like an old man... The more he talked, the more uncomfortable and... well, uncool he felt. And he desperately wanted to be cool in the eyes of Danni.

@BlueSky44: Zelda would hear someone scream FUCK, shortly followed by a BOOM. She will hear what sounds like rushing water, and after a few minutes, water will begin to pool at her feet. It's clearly coming from somewhere, but where? She could always follow the watery trail to find its point of origin... Or she could ignore it, that would work too.

April Flynn

Location: the Field (School Carnival) - Kree Spaceship -> Stark Hall
Skills: Hydrokinesis
~First Day Fit~

April heard Danni's promises for live commentary and she shot him a thumbs up, but otherwise hadn't paused in her pursuit of her sister. Well, mostly. She had managed to chase Zelda down to Stark Hall, the sun beating down on her, and April looking forward to a brief respite in the AC. As she pushed open the doors, her hands instinctively reached down into her pocket, pulling out her phone. Her eyes scanned the text rapidly, the words all out of order, before tumbling into a coherent message.

im probably gonna regret sending this. kind of a lot of feelings about you for a while now. im love with two different people. I'm with sabien right now. talk to you later.

There was more, but these were the phrases April's eyes focused on. She momentarily forgot about Zelda and her pain. Her heart stopped. Leah liked her. April didn't even know if she liked Leah. But Leah liked Sabine too. And she had picked Sabine. She hadn't picked April. And it seemed Sabine had picked Leah. April's hopes felt like they were withering away on the vine. Her phone clattered out of her hand, hitting the ground. And the screen shattered into a thousand pieces.

"FUCK!" April screamed, as tears began gushing out of her eyes. She couldn't see. She knew that she ought to pick up her phone, but she didn't care. This was supposed to be the best day of the year, and instead it was a cruel nightmare. April ran in the direction of the nearest room, the nearest place to be alone - the bathroom - and she locked herself inside one of the stalls, sobbing her heart out.

Why had she thought she had a chance with Sabine? And why hadn't she seen what was there with Leah before it was too late? Why was she so stupid? April felt it then, in her bones, that she was going to die alone. No one could ever love her. There was a ringing in her ears, as fuzziness enveloped them. Dorian and Danni were both going to find amazing partners one day and leave her behind. Everyone was going to. Everyone was going to find someone better.

The toilet she was perched on began to shake. As did everything else in the bathroom. She didn't care though. She continued to cry, feeling like she wanted to reach inside of herself and claw her own brain out, removing the offending organ. Everyone'd be better off that way. Dorian probably didn't even want her to be at his birthday soirée. She was spiraling out of control, as all of the toilets burst, water shooting up like gushing geysers.

The water that exploded from beneath April propelled her upwards, slamming her against the ceiling - and then everything went black.

Percy Novikov

Location: the Field (School Carnival) - Outside of Agatha's Tent

~New Outfit~

"No, I don't think I do, no offense," he told Mads, when she inquired about his fortune. He didn't want to think about it himself. He just wanted to think about the watch and its maddeningly unknown inscription. He knew that it was going to consume him, that it would dominate his thoughts, his waking moments, but Percy didn't care. It was probably as good a use of his time as any. His curiosity was temporarily shifted though when Mads suggested that they go to... the gym?

He didn't mind staring at a well toned physique, but the gym was bound to be empty with the carnival still going strong.

"Mm, my condolences to this Victoria. She isn't living up to her name, clearly." He had half a mind to suggest renaming this girl to Perdita, meaning lost. It would be much more fitting, although Percy imagined any of Zari's opponents would inevitably end up bearing the title. She was passionate about everything she did, but swords above all else.

He wasn't sure if what Andy was talking about was the same thing as what Mads had mentioned - was the thing Andy wanted to show Zari in the... gym? It seemed weirdly mundane for the two of them, and Percy had never known Zari to do anything mundane. "Sure, I'll bite. What is it?" Maybe Andy wanted to show Zari a treadmill, in an attempt to find an outlet for her girlfriend's endless supply of energy.
INFERNO

The Grimoire describes the magical capabilities of your character. For each magical thing they can do, list the type of magic, give a brief description, and then place any notes. For example, one of these slots might be Tarot Cards, classified as Divination, and under notes you would put how you could use them to predict the future blah blah blah. Another slot could be Transformation, Transmutation type, and you could put down how you can turn men into beasts and so forth.

You'll be limited to 7 slots in your grimoire to start, but obviously some characters might not have filled it up entirely yet, and others may have.

Example Grimoires -

Megan Pendragon

Location: Rapunzel's Tower
Skills: N/A

Megan smiled slightly at Lancelot's offer to spar once he was recovered, although that may not be for quite a while given his condition. "I'd like that." Now that she remembered where she came from, the fencing tournaments and matches of Earth seemed so... quaint. She wanted a deadly duel between knights, blades flashing, the fight not to the touch but to the floor. A fight that only ended when the other begged mercy, knowing they could not continue. A fight where the only rule was to not get killed. A fight that would make her shiver with anticipation.

She raised an eyebrow, turning slightly pink as her parents suggested finding a match for her. She remembered that being somewhat normal in this world, arranged marriages between royals. But she also had grown up on Earth, where such things were antiquated. "Unless you can find a girl who shimmers like the moon and causes skeletons to dance, I do not know if a match for me would be possible," Megan confessed.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: Burger King
Skills: N/A

Nancy nodded at Zeke, but didn't say anything. She had half a mind to walk back to the train station by herself. Joanie could fight just as well as some of these Greeks - and better than a few of them, too. She was pleasantly surprised that Demetri didn't push back. However, she was not shocked by Cassian's behavior. Her left eye twitched. She was sick of him. She didn't need his passive aggressive crap.

"Yes, please, tell us more about how important this quest is - as if we don't already know. Do you think I'd return to the Lotus Hotel for anything LESS than the UNIVERSE BURNING?!" she snapped, standing up. Her milkshake knocked over and began pouring out over the table, but Nancy didn't care. Her rage burned within her like a furnace. "How about YOU return to a place where you were almost raped! Where you had to KILL the men assaulting you - where you sat in their BLOOD and no matter how hard you scrubbed, it wouldn't come off of your hands? And there was no one to help you, because everyone was trapped inside a dream, but yours had become a nightmare? HOW ABOUT YOU FUCKING DO THAT, YOU GODS-DAMNED PIECE OF WORTHLESS GRODY ASS SHIT! I've fucking had it! This quest is so fucking important, that you can't respect my ONE BOUNDARY?! Fine! Do it without me! I hope you all rot in Tartarus for all I care!"

Her eyes darted to her milkshake, slowly spilling on the table. The lid was keeping most of it within the cup. She picked it up and removed the lid - and then cruelly poured it on Cassian's head.

"C'mon, Joanie, we're leaving," she told her dragon firmly.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: Under the Sea
Skills: N/A

Leda considered Kiera's suggestion. Her main worry is that it would scare Oceanus off, putting the trident out of their reach. As long as his forces were engaging the camp, he was stuck. And maybe if they recovered the trident, Poseidon would have the strength to rally and crush the rest of this army, before the camp was evacuated. But evacuating the camp, while it would save lives, could also tip their hand. Sera seconded Kiera's plan and Leda frowned. She didn't want to risk the lives of Camp Fish-blood... But there were also lives at stake the longer Oceanus went unchecked, the longer he had Poseidon's trident.

"Not to be a bitch, but... We might lose our chance to recover the trident if we do that," Leda suggested uncomfortably. "We'll slow the army down, but Oceanus is bound to have scouts. A few of them might even be faster than me. They'll know the camp is being evacuated, maybe realize what we saw, and scatter." It was what Leda would've done, if she were Oceanus. Maybe he was more egotistical than she was giving him credit for. "It's a bit of a Sophie's choice, isn't it? Camp Fish-blood, full of innocents... Or the other innocents who will die if we fail..."

"Or... maybe when you two do the current trick, I sneak in there and get the trident," Leda added.

"Actually, it's Dr. Chase," Bonnie corrected Max. Ordinarily, she would've been irritated at the suggestion that she stay behind, that it wasn't safe for her. She had been in the field for a long time, long before she ever became the host of Athena. But April was so young, she was loathe to be apart from her. "I can remain here. But you don't need to worry about my safety." She didn't plan to brag or show off her powers. She'd prefer to keep her cards somewhat close to the vest.

It seemed like everything was settled though. "Great, then let's get going - we have no time to lose," Guin pressed. She hadn't heard anything from Mary in a little bit, but she assumed that everything had to be okay. Everything was going to be fine. There was no reason to think that it wouldn't be. Sure, they were potentially dealing with Magneto in space, in their lovely metal ships... But Guin was in denial that anything could be horrible here. Pietro was fine. Everyone was going to be fine. They'd probably even be back in time for dinner. Maybe they'd go out and get ice cream. Gelato, even. Gelato sounded nice.

Neil Spellman

Location: the Asteroid
Skills: N/A
~Fit Check~

Neil didn't trust this. It all felt too fishy to him - like some sort of a telemarketing scam. Things seemed somewhat plausible on the surface, but Neil's gut was telling him it wasn't all as neat as that douche Fabian Cortez was laying it all out to be. It seemed like there shouldn't be an issue with them leaving this place, it seemed. But would Magneto really let them all go? And even if he would, would his zealous acolytes let them just walk out of this place? Sure, some of them hated them, but even then... Maybe they'd rather just hold them as prisoners here.

"Even if we can't reprogram them, I can try to guide them..." Neil offered. His telekinesis wasn't as powerful as like Jean Grey's, but if the other X-Men could get the Blackbird or something up into space, Neil was pretty sure he could telekinetically push a pod over to it. They'd all have to try to cram inside the pods though. His heart broke slightly, as he instinctively wished that Sara could have been there... She would've been able to sync with his powers and make this happen.

"Or maybe even you could, using the Phoenix Force," he suggested to Mary. He nodded as Perry cozied up next to him, mentioning again about Cortez' punchable face. "Yeah, he has terrible vibes," Neil agreed. "I'm still in favor of you punching him."

@Nallore: Diana managed to teleport herself away from the bees with ease, like a practiced professional. She ended up in what looked to have once been the brig of the ship, meant for confining prisoners temporarily. It was nicer (or at least more sci-fi) than the brig of an Earth ship. But it also had somewhat of a hamster cage like quality to it, the way the prisoners were held behind some sort of clear substance, entirely vulnerable with no obvious means of escape. She wasn't alone there.

No, there was a guy there - probably a senior by the looks of him, maybe a junior but Diana didn't recognize him, so it'd be unlikely. He was Maori, wearing a patterned short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts. He seemed to be lost in thought, he didn't notice Diana there at first. "Oh, hey, sorry - am I not supposed to be here?" he asked her, his Kiwi accent obvious.

@PatientBean@Blizz: Oh boy, watched they were. The school rumor mills were already excited enough with the Tommy-Kate break-up. The Leah-Sabine ship that had just left the harbor? That was like dumping gasoline on a fire. Everyone was going to know that those two were holding hands going off in the direction of the dorms by the end of the day. And given that they were roommates... People were going to expect them to do roommate things. For better or worse, any privacy of secrecy those two would have was gone.

When they arrived back at the dorms, Leah would get a text from April (see below). And Sabine would receive a DM from one of her followers that was just "!!!" with a link to someone's story where they had posted a pic of Leah and Sabine holding hands, circled with a heart, with the caption "AA'S NEW IT COUPLE BITCHES!!!!!"

April Flynn

Location: the Field (School Carnival) - Kree Spaceship
Skills: N/A
~First Day Fit~

April's heart was pounding furiously in her chest, her hands still held reflexively in front of her face. She had been lucky that she'd managed to pull together a water shield in time, sucking some of the humidity out of the air - and her luck had resulted in a new uneven tan. She didn't want to think about how bad and weird these tan lines were going to be. She'd have to fix that stat.

The only person looking more traumatized than Teddy, who seemed to have chosen freeze from the options of fight vs flight of course was her sister. But the bees were gone now. Thankfully. And the fire was out and Danni's hair and clothes were somehow completely fine, as apparently his flames worked Human Torch style - which was great, because April didn't think he could pull off being bald. What was not great was that in the confusion she had lost track of Leah and Sabine, and now her sister looked like her meltdown was shifting into a crying fit as Zelda ran off. She didn't notice the blonde sitting down nonchalantly, as if this entire thing had been a picnic and not highly terrifying.

"Urgh, I thought her control was bad enough at home..." April whined. She did care for her sister, she really did. And she felt bad for her. And this was part of why April had been avoiding Zelda all day, so that way she wouldn't have to stop having fun to go comfort her sister. The empathy and compassion that she had for her friends did not always transfer evenly to Zelda; Zelda was her annoying kid sister after all! "I'm sorry, babes, but I should go after her - she like doesn't know anyone here and irritating as she is she is my sister... I'll catch up with you once she's calmed down, I'll send a text to let you know?"

April pulled her phone out of the pocket at the thought, finally seeing the text from Leah about there being too many people. She didn't notice that the time stamp on Leah's text was from a while ago, from back when they were outside Agatha's, so April assumed it was from the bee thing. She shot back a quick reply -

"Zelds, wait up!!" April then shouted, putting her phone away and running off after her miserable sister. "These boots aren't meant for running in!!"

Percy Novikov

Location: the Field (School Carnival) - Outside of Agatha's Tent
Skills: N/A
~New Outfit~

Percy was very cross with Agatha Harkness. Ordinarily, he would have dwelled in that anger and rationalized it, coming up with a list of real (or imagined) wrongs that the witch had committed. But there was one thing in the world that he always hyper-fixated on, more than his (un)righteous rage, and that was an unsolvable puzzle.

He hadn't even paid much thought yet to the time keeping properties of the pocket watch. No, he was still staring at the inscription as he left Agatha's tent. The characters - letters? - were none that he had seen before in his life. It wasn't Latin, Greek, or Cyrillic. It wasn't Cuneiform, Aramic, or Hebrew. And it wasn't Armenian or Georgian either. His brain rattled through lists of writing systems, trying to identify the marks, but he kept coming up with blanks.

He scowled, squinting his eyes at the inscription. His power worked better with larger data sets. Give him a sentence from a new language and he might not be able to translate it; give him a paragraph and he'd start to get the gist; give him a novel and he'd be fluent. One word - or one thought - usually wasn't enough to get something right away.

But that was all he had here.

Percy was instantly obsessed.

He glanced up, seeing that Zari had her sword out. "A little early for a duel to the death, isn't it?" Percy quipped, pocketing the watch. The inscription was burned into his brain already though. He knew that if he were to dream tonight, it would be about the watch. And when he closed his eyes, the inscription would be there, floating in the blackness.

Either that or that stupid idiot Dorian Gray.

Megan Pendragon

Location: Rapunzel's Tower
Skills: N/A

Megan had been expecting this question somewhat - particularly given that she was still carrying the skull she had acquired in Merlin's tower in her bags. "I study their death. I determine how, when, and where they died - and by whose hand they were slain, if any. It's important to know these truths. Death is the only thing guaranteed in life." Megan did not add that she had always been fascinated by the dead - she even remembered now in Camelot as a small child, seeing a knight dying at a tournament, the red blood staining his garb gripping her senses. "I studied fencing in Kansas - the other world," she then said, as to his question about the training. "But otherwise, no. Medical school was rather time consuming and I did not remember that I had been born to be a knight." To be a king.

Her father asked a more awkward and embarrassing question - if she fancied anyone. She had briefly caught feelings for one of their number, but it had felt like centuries since Megan had seen her, and those feelings had perished on the vine. "No, I do not. I don't know if I am the romantic type." That was somewhat of a lie. Megan did want romance. She just hadn't found anyone yet who wanted it with her. She wanted someone who would kiss her in the midst of a cemetery, whose eyes would dance with passion as they pressed their skin into the grave dirt, and who would whisper to her in tongues that had been long since thought extinct.

"But I suppose if I am to succeed you one day, Father, I will need a queen."
