@BlueSky44@Kirah: Usagi thrashed and screamed as her metal parts constricted inwards, circuits misaligning and wires sparking, as Zari crushed the cat-robot alive(?). She was crumpled up like a soda can, as if someone had thrown Usagi to the ground and stomped on her, flattening her out in some places, and creating bulging dents in others. The light behind her synthetic eyes flickered, briefly turning a vibrant red, before fading away entirely with a husky "finally..."

Andy and Zari were alone now in the basement of the school's gym - just a few floors below where the Framework room was. However, Zari was still disoriented - and rather than being energizing like Andy's draining of Ardere, Zari would be feeling even more loopy and lightheaded after using her abilities on Usagi.

@Patientbean@Trainerblue192@Natsu: "Do I look like I'd aggravate the ghost?" Gideon asked pointedly, before splitting off slightly from the rest of the group - while they checked out the master and twin bedrooms, she instead went into the kitchen. She opened up cupboards and cabinets at random, letting them slam shut. There wasn't anything particularly exciting inside of them - boxes of Mac and Cheese, and some cans that were just labeled gruel. "Hey ghostie, if you're real, give me an autograph, huh?" Gideon said, laying the book out on the counter.

She stared at it, expectantly, and held up the camera. "Guess you're a coward then."

Meanwhile, in the twin bedroom, while Dorian & co didn't detect any freezing temperatures, there was a music box sitting on the dresser. It was shiny and opulent, and seemed somewhat out of place - it didn't quite match with the rest of the decor.

April had no idea at all what her sister was talking about - the only Doom she was familiar with was the ruler of Latveria and supervillain/scientist/wizard, Dr. Doom. But Zelda was going on about unlimited weapons and fighting people with a stick? However, with how frantic and anxious April was feeling, she didn't spend a lot of time dwelling on what Zelda was communicating - if she needed to know it, she'd just have to hope that Zelda would repeat it again - ideally in a way that April could understand. She was absolutely hopeless when it came to video games.

Zelda hit Dark Link over the head repeatedly with a hammer, sending him sprawling down to the ground. He gritted his teeth, and then spat out blood on the ground. "Cute," he grumbled. "You're good. But not good enough. He sprung up to his feet, and threw his grappling hook, aiming to tangle it around Zelda's legs - only for April to sent out a quick burst of water, a wave so sharp that it managed to slice through the cord, severing it.

Vicky was going on and on about something - but April didn't process it, not really. She heard it, knew that Vicky was saying things, but the words just seemed to go through one ear and out the other. April was trembling, the water she had just used to sever the grappling hook's cord freezing rapidly, creating an icy terrain between Dark Link and Zelda. "Pick on s-s-someone your own size!"

Dark Link cocked an eyebrow, before obliging April - and loosing a shock arrow.

It was so fast, she couldn't react - the arrow hit her in the midsection, piercing her with pain as it created a nasty gash, and then sent electricity coursing through her aquatic body. She screamed in intense pain, feeling herself dying - feeling her body convulse as she lost control, one of her hearts fading away, leaving her panting, out of breathe, stunned.

She had just one life left.

And Dark Link was still coming for their heads.

Leah defeated her cultist readily, launching her axe with all of her body weight into his skull, and driving it down, down, down until she could go no further - until the man had been split in half almost all the way down to his ass, the two pieces of him trembling like a leaf before falling to the ground anticlimatically. The person inside of the mindflayer pod continued to bang, demanding to be freed - a voice that was becoming more and more familiar to Leah, as if...

... as if it belonged to a certain friend of theirs who had left the school...

... As if it belonged to Chi Mai.

Percy's eye twitched - the left one, to be precise - as Danni started gushing about the attempt at a nickname. He had not been trying to do anything of the sort. He found nicknames useful for aliases, for concealing information or origins, but ultimately they didn't interest him too much. They all already had aliases that they used as a part of their coursework, and his was Odysseus - both because he found the Greek hero to be a role model, but also because it then afforded an additional alias. Nobody. Odysseus' alias.

That was all to say... Percy wasn't going to just give Danni a nickname.

He hadn't even given one to Dorian, and from what he understood of social norms, that one would have to be a priority. "I am not giving you a nickname, Daniel," Percy stressed, as Danni grabbed a handful of cultist and set the cultist aflame, his hands burning.

There were three cultists left - the one who had attacked Percy, the one who had attacked Diana, and the one who had attacked Mads. Percy's turn was before his cultist, and he attacked again with his dagger, sinking it in beneath the cultist's ribcage and killing them. That left two.

Diana's cultist swung again, but missed. Mads' cultist sent another fireball slamming into her, leaving her critically low on health - again. She hadn't died yet though.

I'm fine, Guin brushed off Pietro's concern. It was kind of him to care, but when her mind started to circle this drain of despair, it was easier to push people away than to pull them in close. And truthfully, she had almost gotten used to this - to this feeling that came and went like the tides, always retreating but always returning. She didn't know when it would stop - maybe it never would, maybe she'd be in this cycle forever.

As Annie suggested that they could stop now and turn in early, Guin shrugged. "It's up to you, fam - I'm game for whatever," she said.

That seemed to be the choice Annie and Pietro made, and Guin didn't complain - she followed along after them, heading back into the Mansion, her head racing with thoughts that were too jumbled up to recount, all of which came to the same basic conclusions. Try as she might to push them aside, they continued coming, pushing into her skull. She turned her head, seeing the car, and huffed slightly. "Hooray, new people - that's just what we need right now. More of them."

Truthfully, Runa didn't care much for sodas - they were far too sweet for her liking. She preferred things that were bitter, or that would scorch the back of her throat as she drank them. Mead was for more than just merriment - it had a practical purpose, warming their body on a cold winter's eve. However, turning her nose up at a drink was not something a respectful Asgardian did - it would be incredibly rude. So Runa smiled politely. "That would be lovely," she said, nodding her head to Bethany, before following her and Lance inside to the kitchen.

Logically, Avery knew that Carolina was right - that there was a very slim chance Klara even knew that Avery had been the one to do it, assuming she remembered the events at all. But knowing something and knowing something were two different things. So while the odds were low that anything would happen, Avery couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. And if there was one thing they were trying to do more in this new life, it was listening to their own feelings - to trust their gut and their intuition.

And in this situation, their gut really wanted them to go hide in the attic.

So they gave Carolina's hand a squeeze, and smiled at her slightly. "There might be fun stuff up there," they pointed out, trying to lighten things a bit. "...Or old training uniforms." But either way, it was what they wanted to do - and they were curious, it was an area of the mansion they'd never really explored before, and it would be as good an excuse as any - far more respectable than hiding in their room.

@BlueSky44@Kirah: Had Selene been there, she would have been so proud of Andy. As Andy's dead fingers stretched upwards, it was nothing inanimate that she grasped. No, it was a living person - an awkward, angry freshman with powers revolving around heat, around vitality. The death in Andy reached out, sapping away at Ardere - Ardere aging rapidly, no longer a teen but an adult, then a middle aged woman, then elderly, then a husk - and finally, nothing more than dust, a corpse disintegrating into a pile at Andy's feet.

A life for a life.

Andy would feel a part of herself slip away - an innate purity, perhaps, that she would never be able to reclaim.

Had this been how it started for Selene?

Andy managed to free Zari from the trap, the poison still pumped through the young Asgardian's veins, disorienting her. Hopefully, her system would be able to burn it out, to remove the toxin. Now more than ever, Zari's unique abilities were needed - both of them, Andy and Zari, were needed.

"Surprise, bitch!!" Usagi shouted, twitching strangely as arcs of electricity continued, penetrating her fur. "I'm not dead!" The cat slowly picked herself up off the ground, and then jumped at Andy, claw's extended, aiming to scratch the shit out of her face.

@Patientbean@Trainerblue192@Natsu: Gideon raised an eyebrow, not much of a huggy person - she actually couldn't remember having ever hugged before in her life. But from her brief amount of time around this group (which was exceedingly brief), it seemed to be part of their norm. "So... It's Buzzfeed Unsolved but the ghosts are real," Gideon surmised.

And then proceeded to pretty much stop listening - had it not been for her shades, the others would have been able to see her eyes glaze over as Dorian went down a long list of minutia, explaining the ins and outs of this game. When the others started to grab items, Gideon glanced through the shelves. "There's no fucking gun? Lame. I want to shoot a ghost." She then sighed, grabbing a flashlight, and then the two things she immediately saw - a camera, and an old looking book.

She walked into the house, noticing that it looked like a boring old house - all the lights were off, things were pretty clean and tidy, and there were no signs of anything ghost like. "Hey there demons, it's me, ya girl!" Gideon shouted, leaving the foyer and heading into the dining room. "Hellooooooo! Ghosties!!! Come out come out wherever you are!!"

She sighed slightly. This really was like Unsolved. Nothing was happening!

"What... is she doing? Is she having a stroke?" April asked, her mouth slightly agape as Vicky poked the evil Link in the chest while saying a strange pattern. She wasn't a geek, at least not in this manner - April didn't recognize the code that Vicky was playing off of. But the air above them all shimmered, bursting into green sparks as a strange creature came into view -

"Yahaha! You found me!" the creature cheered.

While April stared in confusion at the flying green creature, trying to figure out what the hell had just happened, the dark Link was not nearly as perplexed. "Cute," Link said. "But a Korok won't save you." Vicky managed to kick at his wrist, but he had been anticipating such a motion - instead of disarming him, Link used the change to his momentum to his advantage. He spun quickly in a circle, his sword blurring into a deadly line of steel - he cut Vicky, knocking her backwards and to the ground - her body flashed red, one of her hearts vanishing before her eyes. She had one life left. And Link was still coming.

"Vicky!! Get up! Run!!" April urged. She blasted water at the dark Link, but he quickly blocked it with his shield, digging in his heels in a firm stance so the pressure could not even force him back.

Hopefully Zelda could handle things, her weird new weapon seemed promising? April had no idea.

Percy wasn't exactly pleased to hear that they all had psychic parasites in their heads - with how immersive the Framework was, he didn't want to learn how his body would interpret any signals or commands from the parasite. However, it was not the end of the world - the parasite was only as real as his odd, frog like body was. Once they escaped the Framework, the problem would cease to matter, being reduced to just pixels on a screen. "Relax, Daniel," Percy said, rolling his eyes. "There isn't actually a parasite in your brain - it's just code. But if it makes you feel better, I could always take an icepick and have a look."

It was mean - but Percy was stressed. He still didn't know what had happened to everyone else - where the rest of his... friends... were. He supposed some of them could be considered friends. Most of them were just acquaintances, but a few mattered. And this game, it was all new to him - he had to rely on Madalyne for information, trusting that she wouldn't lead them astray. She said the victim pounding in the pod in the back of the room was an ally - and the ones tied to tables in front of them were not. Unfortunately, even with that information, Madalyne's spell unleashed the cultists - and Percy found his feet locked into the ground again, as combat began.

"GET ME OUT!!!" the voice continued to scream.

Percy drew his dagger, and teleported through the space (well, misty stepped) until he landed next to a cultist. He swung his dagger, only to miss. Another swipe though, from his off-hand, was successful - he drew blood, the cultist's health down to half, but it was still up. The cultist made an unarmed attack, sucker punching Percy, and Percy felt the wind get knocked out of him - but he was still alive.

The cultist who attacked Diana missed, their swing going wide.

Mads wasn't as lucky - she ended up taking a firebolt to the face, losing half of her health bar.

Danni narrowly avoided being hit by a firebolt as well - the cultist attacking him whiffing it hard.

And Leah, Leah was stabbed in the gut, the cultist landing a solid enough of a hit to deplete her health - but unlike normal Baldur's Gate 3, she respawned in, just down one more heart.

"Don't werewolves eat demigods?" Leda asked, perhaps a bit insensitively. If there was one thing that death hadn't changed about her, it was her ability to simultaneously have great empathy and cruelty towards other people. Her intention thought wasn't to be hurtful - merely to get right to the point. "I'm not sure how the rules work, if I just grow an arm back if we cut it off or not, but cannibalism might be an option - if ghost demigods count." She frowned though, furrowing her brows. "Not that dead demigods are supposed to end up here... I still can't fathom why I'm here, no offense. I ought to be in Elysium right now."

"Cool cool cool, camping with warding, reminds me of a book I had to chuck in a fire..." Leda mused. It all sounded pretty straightforward, at least. She never could really get her head around how magic was supposed to work - if it was all the Mist or if there was something more. So she tended to just never question it, just accepting it at face value. If Madalyne could use wards to protect them, she wasn't going to complain.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

The lump remained in Nancy's throat. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for Diana's gifts - she really was, truly. She had been given more by the goddess than she deserved - her bow, and now these shoes and a whistle, all three of them enchanted. Nancy had wanted to go with Diana and her hunters, to help them look for the Doors of Death - not as a member of the Hunt, but as an ally. But she understood the goddess' decision - understood that the half measure was not accepted. She would have to fulfill her duties to Rome.

And that meant returning to Camp Half-blood.

Returning to face the people she had failed.

To face the people who had saved her before, who she could not repay the debt for.

She felt haunted as they navigated through the Lotus Hotel and Casino, more of the ghost than the victim. Each sight brought back horrid memories, vague and distorted and glittering, but dipped in trauma and fear. It was like she had exhumed her own corpse in the basement, and was now gently leading it back to the land of the living, as a million different thoughts pulled her in a million different directions. It wasn't until they had exited the hotel that Nancy realized she'd been holding her breath.

It wasn't as disorienting as last time. Things mostly looked the same. The air tasted the same. The street smelled the same. Kristin mentioned the date - February. They'd been inside for a month. Mads had needed her help desperately for a month. Her stomach curled and sweat cooled on her face, leaving her skin nauseatingly clammy. She stumbled backwards, her back hitting the casino's exterior wall, as she slid to the ground. To save face, she untied the laces of her boots, switching them out for the silver ones Diana had provided her with - as if that had been her intention all along.

She was so tired of being strong.

"You know what I think."

Had she meant to snap at Zeke? No.

But it had happened anyways.

"It'd be perfect timing if it did - everything else already is," Guin commented a bit darkly. She had been doing her best to keep the thoughts at bay - to be the master of her own mind. It had been going okay that day for the most part, but like the wind, things could suddenly shift. And rather than feeling her mind distracted as she ran, it was like a gravity gripped her - as her father's betrayal came into her mind fresh again. He'd lied to her. He'd lied to her. He'd put her in the path of an abuser and he'd lied to her. And he hadn't even been there to tell her.

She shook her head slightly, reaching down and grabbing her right wrist with her left arm, gently digging in her nails. Not enough to break the skin, but enough as a subtle reminder, a punishment - to keep away from those portions of her mind, to focus on the present, to breathe.
Runa nodded at Lance's sentiments. She turned her attention to Bethany again, as Bethany seemed to be a bit more talkative. "Oh, I feasted at Odin's hall before journeying here - but thank you," she said politely. "Perhaps a cup of mead? I would not wish to be rude." There were certain rights held by guests after all - and with those came expectations.

Avery flinched slightly, expecting to turn around and find themself face to face with Klara, but instead, it was Carolina. The tension in their shoulders eased slightly. "That was... a little too awkward to me, after what I did to her," Avery admitted quietly.

They kept peering in the direction of the library, trying to make sure they saw if the goddess remembered what they'd done and decided to run after and curse them. They were so focused on making sure they'd see Klara coming that they completely missed Max waving at them. "I'm going to..." they paused again, trying to think of the least likely place a goddess would go to, "hide in the attic, if you want to come."

"There's a ravine up ahead - loads of rocks and dead trees, should give decent cover. And there's a stream near it, for the living to have some water," Leda explained, as she guided Mads to the location she had found. It'd be safe enough for now, a temporary base of operations, but one that they would still need to abandon. They needed to keep on making progress towards the Doors - they could rest for a little bit, but they'd need to move again.

There were no monsters around at the moment, not that Leda could see at least. Maybe they'd have a chance to get some rest. Leda didn't particularly feel tired, but she had to imagine that Mads must have. If anything, Leda's mind was running a thousand miles a minute and some time to just think could do her good.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Nancy had been thinking about joining the Hunt for a while now. But it wasn't the time. She couldn't make a vow to Diana, not until she fulfilled the vows she'd made to other people - to Rome and to Mads and Niah. Her oath was not hers to give - and maybe it never would be. Maybe she would die righting this wrong, die bringing Mads back, die defending Rome. She was her people's praetor, a responsibility that she could not shirk so easily, especially after New Rome fell under her leadership. She had to see this through before she could move on - before she could make this vow.

She shook her head, even as mixed emotions overfilled her. "I can't swear that vow to you. Not yet," Nancy explained. Her body was thick and heavy with grief - it was a miracle that she could keep her tone steady, that she could hold the shattered pieces of herself together. "Not until they're okay." Mads and Rome. Rome and Mads. She was tied to them - a cord that was not so easily replaced.

And Zeke was right. They had to leave. The last time Nancy had been here, decades had passed. A lump formed in her throat.

Guin Stark

Guin rolled her eyes slightly at Pietro, before bracing herself mentally for the inevitable burning pain in her lungs from a long run, and she took off at a light job after Annie. Running was always fine at first, but she found that her attention tended to slip and wane, and she didn't genuinely enjoy doing it very much. It was good for her, yes, but at what cost? She held her arms by her side, her hands folded into loose fists as she ran.

"If they have a mission for us, we better start charging," Guin joked. "Or at the very least, have them rate us five stars... But I'm guessing they might just be here to hang. Lance's probably been pining over his little girlfriend, y'know, and missing her." She was hoping that they didn't have some end of the world apocalyptic event that they needed to help out with - she didn't mind their work, she liked helping people, but she wasn't really feeling like a superhero today. Or lately, even.

Runa tilted her head, still a little lost as to why Lance was saying they could have gone inside to find him. Their method had worked and on Asgard, calling from outside of the home was a common and acceptable practice. However, their confusion slipped as Lance said that it had been some time since he had seen them - which was true. After everything that had happened with Klara, Runa had been helping to care for her. Her visits to Midgard had been few and far between. But to Runa, it hadn't really been that long - her lifespan was on the order of centuries, if not more. A few months was hardly anything. "A short while - perhaps a year or so?" Runa said. "Klara has been... well, she has been improving. Her more recent memories are a blur, but she remembers herself and her family - she knows her people. In time, I expect the rest will come back to her."

Avery Spellman

It was probably for the best that Klara didn't remember them - especially given the actions they had taken to defend themself during Loki's cursed game. They'd blown up her eye. She seemed fine now - her eyes looked normal, as if nothing had happened. THey'd done it under a different name with a different face - and it had been in an act of self defense, so hopefully she wouldn't hold a grudge. But either way, it wasn't bad to have a goddess not remember what they'd done. So when Klara apologized, saying that she could've sworn she knew who they were, Avery shrugged their shoulders slightly. "I get that a lot," they said.

They did wish that Ed hadn't immediately reminded Klara that she'd met them before but - well, Klara seemed to be mostly focused on Ed anyways. At any rate, Avery shifted slightly uncomfortably, their body tensing ever to slightly. The goddess offered Ed a protection amulet, one that he accepted - and then offered to give her a tour. "I, um, have things to do - I'll see you all around," they said, somewhat awkwardly. The longer they were around her, the more their heart started to pound, so they got up and left the room quickly.

@BlueSky44@Kirah: Arcade had summoned Ardere, instructing his sister to remove Andy's corpse. He hadn't wanted it around - it would be for the best if it were destroyed, just as the godling's would be. If Andy suddenly opened her eyes, inheriting some of her mother's dark gift, Arcade did not intend to be around for her to exact her anger on. No, that was what Ardere and Usagi were for. They were disposable.

For all intents and purposes, Andy was dead to the world as Ardere dragged her down to the gym's basement, banging Andy's head against each step with a thud-thud-thud. Usagi was standing guard over Zari - they had the unconscious Asgardian slumped over on a table, a steady IV feeding more and more chemicals into her body. It would be a lethal dose soon enough.

"Aww, happy pride!" Usagi snickered, seeing that Zari's girlfriend was the second victim.

Ardere rolled her eyes, dropping Andy unceremoniously. "More of them should be dead."

"Now now, don't be impatient!" Usagi shook her finger, tsking slightly. "They'll all be dead soon enough!"

@Forsythe: Vicky will regain control of herself and her functions.

@Blizz: Leah sees nothing out of the ordinary.

@Patientbean@Trainerblue192@Natsu: Truthfully, Gideon wasn't super mad about it - she was used to it, at this point, having a near death experience. She had been dying since she was a little kid, when the nuns had tried to murder her along with all the other children. It was boring now, death. Only fighting brought her excitement, brought her a thrill. And as Bowser fell in, the game cheerfully announced their victory - but rather than end, freeing them and letting them back into the real world, the game reloaded.

It wasn't Mario this time - and it wasn't a game that Gideon recognized. Others may however. They were in Phasmaphobia, a horror-ghost hunting game. The group spawned into a small van/truck, where a bulletin board gave some details about the case. They were investigating a ghost named Andy Lensherr, and the ghost responded to everyone, even when not alone. On shelves were various tools that they may need - flashlights, salt, crucifixes, a spirit box, EMF detector, etc etc.

They all looked like themselves again - Gideon once more wearing her signature sunglasses. And they had a new bar, beyond the hearts for their lives - a sanity reading.

"What the fuck is this - Buzzfeed Unsolved?" Gideon scoffed.

April didn't know very much about this game, but she knew enough to see that there was something weird going on with Vicky. Maybe she was fighting Arcade's control - or maybe it was just a glitch, or just something to trick them into a false sense of security. Either way, she didn't let the shield falter, maintaining the water bubble up around them. It was the only thing that stood between them and death by mud. Her heart was pounding furiously. Her eyes stung with fear and exhaustion.

For a split second, she wondered what her parents would say at her funeral.

She shoved the thought aside frantically, instead watching as her sister did... something. The beast before them divided and split into two, before turning into Link - or at least, April assumed that was Link. One of them was in green, the other dressed in black. "Um, what? Is one of them like... evil? Is this a Star Wars Force Vision type of thing? Or like... the Hot Topic variant?" she asked nervously, as her sister said something about one being Dark Link and a Water Temple - both things that immediately went over April's head.

The Dark Link laughed. "Let's see how you fare against a real threat," he taunted, before jumping up with his sword, arcing down as he slashed at Vicky - she would manage to dodge just in time.

"Wait he talks???" April then shoved her hand forward, throwing the shield at Dark Link - but she missed, soaking Vicky thoroughly instead, with enough force that one of Vicky's lives was deducted. "Oh shit shit shit sorry!!!!"
Percy nodded at Mads' instructions - the strategy seemed sound, and she was definitely more knowledgable about this game than anyone else. He wanted to live, so he'd have to listen to her and trust her judgment. The other person with decent video game knowledge meanwhile was fixating on how to take a screenshot, seemingly oblivious to the danger that they were in. Percy had to resist the urge to throttle Danni.

As they made their way into the next room, traversing through a sphincter that made Percy nauseous, the sound of banging drifted to his ears. There were pods all over the place, veins connecting them to the ground, throbbing like nerves. In the middle of the room were a bunch of people, strapped down and connected to some sort of strange device - and a series of buttons.

Nothing had attacked them - yet.

"So... What exactly is the goal of this game? Besides being disgusting?" Percy asked Mads. He then frowned, studying some of the symbols on the control panel - the one that seemed connected to the unconscious people. One of the symbols translated for him - terminate. Another was - unleash.

The banging continued - only growing louder and louder. "LET ME OUT!"

Leda nodded, listening to the criteria. It was going to be a long journey - and she wasn't even sure if time moved normally in Tartarus as compared to the rest of the world. For everything that she knew about the gods, she knew frighteningly little about where they were now. But she had her speed, and that was an asset. "'Course, everyone knows that the high ground is for winners," Leda agreed, as she exited the cave with Mads. Mads seemed remarkably well adjusted to all of this - and Leda didn't know if it was just a mask or if she also felt terrified.

"Hm, I s'pose monsters do eat for more than, just, recreation," she commented - perhaps a bit foolishly. Monsters loved to eat demigods all the time, but Leda had never really considered whether they needed to eat. They reformed and turned into dust when they died, and they were monsters, so she'd never really thought of them as truly living, breathing creatures that would need food. But that was obviously the case - she hoped - and that there'd be food down here. Not that Leda herself needed food. She was dead, after all. "Though I think the food and water is more of a you problem than a me problem."

But nonetheless, Leda gave her a wink before taking off at a dash. The immediate area seemed clear, so she let herself use her speed, scouting ahead quickly. At first, she couldn't find much of anything. But eventually, she found a nearby ravine, featuring dead trees and rocks that would provide cover - and a pond with clean water for Mads. Racing on back, Leda then relayed her findings. "C'mon, follow me."

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: Lotus Hotel and Casino
Skills: Prophecy

Nancy's hearing muffled, her vision blurring as her body sank into the vision - as her limbs shook and twitched, her corporeal form no longer her own. And she was no longer in the place of her greatest tragedies, her spirit gone from the Lotus Hotel. No, instead she was in a famous scene - a park she had seen time and time again on the silver screen. With the skyline, it was unmistakable. It was Central Park. This was New York - Greek territory. She was not alone either. Diana's hunters were with her, as were Niah (her heart ached), some of the Greeks, and two faces she did not recognize. A newspaper blew by in the wind, indicating the date - July 4th.

But that wasn't what caught her attention. No, it was the Doors of Death. They were here. She reached out instinctively, wishing to pry them open and force Mads back to her, but the vision faded away, disintegrating to dust before her eyes. Her cards were spilled on the floor, dirt sullying the gleaming gold backings. And she was on the floor, the sobs still ripping themselves from her throat as her lady - as her goddess - swore on the Styx that she would help, that she would use her hunters to find the Doors, to save Mads.

Her lips twitched.

Demetri said that they had to leave now - that they had to return to Camp.

Rome needed her.

No, Rome needed Mads. Nancy needed Mads.

Janelle's vision detailed them making it to Tartarus, to a shrine of Mercury.

They couldn't wait months. She couldn't just go back to Camp Half-blood and wait, waiting for the doors to open. "Let me come with you - let me help your hunters look," Nancy asked. "The Doors will be in Central Park on July 4th. But Mads can't - I can't - wait that long."

Guin shrugged, her tongue poking out slightly between her teeth. "I know, I really am the nicest person on Earth." Her eyes were twinkling with amusement - and it matched her internal feeling as well. Sure, things were a little rough around the edges at the moment, but she did genuinely feel okay - at least now, at least here. Standing outside, chatting with Pietro and Annie, it was a little easier to put all of the mess and the drama behind her and focus on the moment.

"Yeah, what'd'ya say, Piet? Want to go for a walk while Annie and I jog?" Guin teased. She knew that going at their pace would seem mindbogglingly slow to him - like a video game character suddenly forced down to just a small fraction of their speed. But it'd be nice to have him around regardless - and it would be good for him, too. He was always so attached to her that Guin was worried at times that he didn't have many friends, even on the team. Hanging with another person could help.
Runa tilted their head at Lance, a bit perplexed by his critique. "But I did call? That was what I just did - I called for you and you came," Runa summarized. The nuances of Midgardian culture and customs were lost on them at times. While they had memories from that false existence created by the Scarlet Witch, they were just a drop in the bucket of Runa's long life. And even then, only the important things had remained - the finer points of Midgardian life was quickly becoming lost on her.

She nodded as Klara said she had someone to speak to, paying it little mind. She trusted her cousin.

"All is well, thank you," Runa said, nodding their head at Bethany. "How do you fare?"

Avery Spellman

Avery didn't recognize the voice immediately, but when it was placed for them, they remembered. They had met the Asgardians once before, right before they'd left the mansion briefly with Mira and Carolina to take care of some family drama. They'd been trapped inside a Jumanji game, held inside by Loki - and when the Asgardians had been unleashed, they had attacked them, attacked the X-Men. Hopefully this wasn't a repeat of anything like that. Avery didn't really look forward to the idea of dealing with Loki once again.

A water bubble drifted into the library, and they raised an eyebrow, trying to remember which Asgardian had water theming - but the question was answered before it was asked, as Klara came into the room, talking to Edus specifically. Avery didn't know if anything had really happened with the Asgardians since Jumanji, and they couldn't remember if Klara had been particularly fond of Edus in particular. So as was their nature, Avery nodded slightly in greeting, but remained quiet - they were a bit anxious from a relatively unknown person entering the conversation anyways.
