Leda Storm and Kiera Donovan @Nallore (Heroes of Olympus)
The Skyrose Multiverse began with the apocalypse RP, Abandoned Hope. This RP, which I GMed with @BlueSky44, incorporated a lot of lore from various shows and books that we liked. At first, we thought that was the biggest connection it would have. It has now expanded into a fully blown universe, with multiple GM's running connected RP, and an established continuity throughout the timeline.
Leda nodded in agreement with Mads' plan - it was sound enough. They'd attack, and then run from the scene as fast as they (Leda, really) could. Mads would begin with an assault in wolf form, surprising the pack of Harpies, and then Leda could rush in with Ultraviolet and carve them up, turning them into shreds. She took a breath, watching silently as Mads turned into her wolf form, pouncing on the pack - biting one and killing it, before springing onto another. It was a magnificent act of brutality and savagery, and Leda counted the spaces between heartbeats, before taking up her sword and sprinting to join the fray.
The first swing of her sword was clean, slashing up through the midsection and across the harpie's chest, the monster exploding into sand around her, the angered winds of Tartarus - partially kicked up from Leda's own run - spattering them against her face. But she didn't stop, ducking beneath an attempted attack, before swinging her blade once more, another of the harpies meeting their temporary fate.

Nancy clenched her jaw at Niah's use of the word allegedly. It stung like a snake's bite, a flash of red hot pain followed by a cooling venom. She knew why Niah phrased it like that - that Leandra's trial hadn't happened yet, that she had not been convicted, that she was only accused... But Nancy didn't care. She knew that Leandra was guilty. Niah knew it, too. If it hadn't been for this half-assed immortality Leandra had stumbled her way into, she would be dead by Nancy's hand. And if Nancy had the means to do so, she would have killed her a thousand times more until death finally took.
"There's nothing alleged about the things she's done," Nancy said darkly.
Her body felt restless, her fingers tense, buzzing with energy. Her anger was only interrupted by a member of the Senate entering the tent, saying that it was time. Nancy nodded. Her eyes darted towards Leandra, and then followed her gaze to the cup of water in the corner of her cell. Nancy's left eye twitched slightly, and before she had even finished the thought, she walked forward and kicked the cup, spilling the water onto the ground. Just because Leandra was unable to die did not mean she was immune to suffering.
"Bring the guards in - I'll help escort her personally," Nancy then ordered. She wasn't going to allow Leandra a chance to escape.

Leah - Trick - After the Monster Mash when Leah returns to her room, there is a postcard on the wall from Oslo. Written on it is her birth name. Nothing else.
Dorian - Treat - On Halloween day, Dorian’s father sends him a ~spooky~ gift. It’s a mini dinosaur! And by mini I mean like 6 inches tall. But it’s alive!
Percy raised an eyebrow at his sister's suggestion - she didn't need to ask him about that, his own jumps were much more limited in range than hers were. She could easily get Arcade to the mild of a wilderness - it would take Percy a few hours and several hundred jumps before he'd get Arcade anywhere close. His spatial jumps weren't his strength. The temporal ones were. His eyes flickered over to Dorian. The fact that they had a difference of opinion here was obvious to Percy.
Dorian believed in rehabilitation, in the justice system. Percy didn't. "Возможно, это будет слишком любезно по отношению к нему. Это дает ему шанс выжить," he murmured to his sister, speaking in Russian so as to limit who else could hear, who else could understand. His gaze then settled on Arcade, Danni's arm wrapped around him with blazing fire. If Percy was fast enough, he could grab some kind of weapon, make the jump, and end it all. Death was what Arcade deserved.
But then Dorian would see him as a monster - and that stayed his hand. For now.
If Arcade died later, well, what Dorian didn't know couldn't hurt him.
Not that Arcade was in great shape - he was covered in blisters from Leah's fire, his nose broken from Mads' punch to the face, and Danni was actively threatening him with more fire. He hadn't been in this much pain in a long time - pain that he had vowed to never experience again. And it was more than just the physical, he felt as someone groped around in his mind and then... Then something changed. A profound sadness filled him, a mounting horror, a tidal wave of...
... of understanding ...
... of empathy ...
... of remorse.
"What... What have I do?" Arcade - no, Ed - sobbed. "I'm so sorry I - I didn't mean to - I... Please, you have to forgive me!" he begged.
April shifted uncomfortably, a lump in her throat. Leah had run from the room, and April couldn't help but want to follow out after her - and at the same time, she was rooted into place, unable to turn her gaze away. Sabine had done something to Arcade's mind and here he was, crying and remorseful. Just one small moment and suddenly he was changed. But that wasn't what was causing her hands to shake, what made her lungs feel tighter and tighter in her chest, as her body constricted around her like a prison.
No, it was what Zelda said. And the vision from the Monster Mash played out in her mind again, of herself wearing Magneto's helmet, of the heritage in her blood threatening to overtake her - of the fact that villains didn't usually change, that redemption or atonement was a fantasy...
Would that be her one day in that chair, the victim of a psychic lobotomy?
Her ears were ringing, her head swollen like it was filled with cotton - spots danced in her eyes, and no matter what she did, April couldn't quite catch her breath. The anxiety only grew more and more, a perfect storm fueled by trauma and exhaustion, as April grabbed at her chest with shaking hands. "I-I-I...I can't...breathe..." April wheezed.
@Bluesky44@Natsu@Kirah: Zari would remember, from one of her time travel study courses, that when dealing with duplicates and changes to recent events in time, it's important to close the loop. If she doesn't send a Zari, Mary Sue, and Andy back in time, the entire timeline thread risks unraveling before it can be tightly bound into place.
While the duplicate Zari and Andy are downstairs in the basement, the duplicate Mary Sue is present. Both of these Mary Sues will begin to feel incredibly sick and nauseous, and a bit gassy as well.
@Forsythe: It's late at night and right before a holiday break, so the school guidance counselor isn't on campus at all - most of the staff don't live at the academy, instead commuting during the day. However, from outside the glass windows, she'll see a quinjet rapidly descending outside of the school's gym - with the Avengers logo on the front.
@Blizz: Leah will also be able to see this quinjet land from her vantage point as she leaves the Framework room.

Guin hadn't realized she'd been quiet for a moment, until the sound of a portal opened before her - one that went to an old yet timeless home in New Orleans. Her mind had been buzzing with information, her thoughts moving so fast that even she couldn't fully understand them, more flashes than coherent ideas. Thoughts of Mary - of how she had used to be, how she now was, and how she might become. Thoughts of the Phoenix - and the destruction that it could wreak upon the universe, not just Earth. She had her father's itch in that moment, the urge to put a suit of armor around everything and everyone - anything to protect life against something unknowable, unstoppable, unreasonable.
She rewound the conversations around her in her brain - Pietro had asked her how she was - I'm fine, she answered, aware that Jean Grey could hear her too. They had a destination - New Orleans - but no plan of action. The Phoenix was a force of nature, a being of fire and life - how could she fight that? She couldn't just build a gun to kill it - and anything she did to hurt the Phoenix, it would hurt Mary too. It was one thing to think about the fact that she might have to hurt her friend... another thing to actually take the steps to do it.
"Jean, you're the expert with the Phoenix. Is there any other way?" Guin asked bluntly. Is there any other way than killing her? she finished, knowing Jean would hear her thoughts.
Avery had similarly fallen silent, although their thoughts weren't organized the same way as Guin's. There was a deep elation bubbling within them, an earnest joy - Carolina and them had kissed. She wanted to be with them. Fears and concerns aside, they couldn't help but be excited, couldn't help but want to hold her hand, to confess to her every time she had brightened up their world when she stepped into a room, every moment they had almost confessed their crush but had been too afraid to do so.
But this joy was mixed with horror - that the Phoenix was returning, the Dark Phoenix was returning. That wasn't something small - wasn't some villain that they could show up as a team and pummel into submission. The Phoenix was a cosmic power, as terrifying as it was great. It was a god in ways that Asgardians could never be. And the only thing that quelled Avery's panic was the knowledge that Max was there - and that the Phoenix was in Max's home town, giving him an advantage. Surely he had to have some sort of anti-Phoenix spell in his tower?
Runa, meanwhile, frowned as she considered all of this information. She knew of the Phoenix - not in the ways that the X-Men knew it. Her connection was more intimate. The cosmic force had inhabited her grandmother, from her mother's family, when her grandmother became pregnant. Traces of the eternal flame still flowed through her blood. She tried to recall what she knew of legend - what could be done to avert this tragedy.
But all that came to mind was that sometimes, fire was needed to raze a forest in order for new growth to begin.
Before they could get off at a run, Mads stopped the two of them - everything in this place smelled about the same degree of awful to Leda, but Mads' had a keen sense of smell. So when Mads said to stop, Leda let the girl slide off of her back, and got herself ready, bracing for anything. Most likely a fight, though. A fight or an escape. Those were the only two options that they really had in Tartarus - fight or flight. It was constant survival mode, one where they could expect no allies, no aid.
When Mads waved her forward, Leda joined her at the cage exit, peering out - it only took her a second or so to see what Mads had found. Harpies. Leda frowned. There was a pack of them. Running past them wasn't without risk - even at Leda's speeds, monsters could sometimes keep up with her. But engaging them could also just draw more monsters to them. "Mmm. Are you feeling lucky?" Leda murmured.

Maybe it wasn't completely logical, Nancy's hatred of Leandra. But anger had always been her fatal flaw. And so many things were out of her control. This was one small piece of the puzzle that Nancy had absolute control over - one small way that she could get retribution for everything that had happened, from the fall of New Rome to losing Mads. Besides, Leandra was dangerous. Too dangerous to be allowed to go simply into exile. And yet somehow unkillable.
A brief image flashed through Nancy's mind of Leandra, tied to a post as an eagle soared around her, stopping periodically to eat her innards, her body roasting under the glaring light of the sun.
She stared at the prisoner, her tongue still severed. Niah was quiet by her side. Shame prickled within her. Niah didn't have such vicious fantasies - she had control where Nancy did not. "Your trial is soon," Nancy said, breaking the silence. Her eyes narrowed, as she sunk into the comfort of her anger, leaving the shame behind - for the moment, at least. "I want you to know that for everything that is about to happen to you, you'll only have yourself to blame."
Her hands shook.
There was only one person she hated more than Leandra - only one person who carried more blame.

In one timeline, the students of the Margaret Carter Institute died that evening. It was the beginning of Arcade's career as a butcher, the first of a series of spree killings. He would go on to torment the very best teams, even helping Doctor Doom to imprison the X-Men on one occasion, trapping them by luring their loved ones into his sinister games. And while not all of the students had died - some of them were functionally immortal - enough had died to cut a deep wound. Some of their families were alright - others shattered, falling apart in the aftermath, asking themselves why they hadn't been there when their children needed them the most.
Per the Time Variance Authority, the deaths of these children was a fixed point in the universe designated as Earth-666. They would always be massacred. If it wasn't at the hands of Arcade, then it was at the hands of his better - an old, familiar thread hurtling towards them through time and space.
So as Zari, Mary Sue, and Andy flickered back in time, rewinding events by 30 minutes, no TVA agents appeared to stop them. They would be allowed to save the others tonight simply because within the year, they'd be dead anyways. The anomaly would sort itself out - and if not, they had one of their own stationed at the school - retired, yes, but present all the same. Ser Nemo was a particularly skilled assassin. Children would not best him.
Working together, Mary Sue, Andy, and Zari managed to hijack the Framework without drawing Arcade's notice - it was easy when you had a technopath, of course - and everyone would wake up, dropping out of the tanks, freed from the Framework.
And facing an incredibly vulnerable Arcade.
Arcade's eyes widened, seeing that his hostages had escaped. "H-hey guys. Would you believe this entire system went rogue when Usagi went crazy?"
Percy's eye twitched.
April formed water into gloves around her hands, freezing them into ice - ready to beat the shit out of this man.
Gideon put her sunglasses back on, and unsheathed her sword. "So... Are we taking turns or all beating the shit out of him at once?" she asked.
Avery's heart was beating fiercely, as Carolina put her arms around them and pulled them into a kiss. It had been a while since they had kissed anyone - the last person had been Sera, and she had broken their heart, rejecting them after learning the truth about their family. But Carolina already knew - already knew about the devil worshippers, about where people in Avery's family drew power from. And as far as Avery was aware, it didn't matter to her - it didn't change things.
So this kiss felt different - it felt healing.
When it ended, and Carolina pulled away, Avery's body was both buzzing and still. They took a deep breath, just taking the moment to look at her face, to study it, before Carolina asked what this meant - and kissed them again.
Truthfully, Avery didn't know what it meant. "Is that what you want?" they murmured.
Runa tilted her head, considering the map on the device. The sling ring that she used did require a location - a person wasn't a suitable anchor for its spell. It was honestly difficult to parse, whether or not this would work - she had never tried to divine a location by these means. Perhaps the electronic map was still a map, but perhaps it would resonate differently. Runa was familiar with spells where a map would be burned to reveal the location, or where water would be spilled onto the surface and pool at the location - neither of which seemed feasible with this Midgardian technology. "What do you think, cousin? I am unsure if this would be feasible..." But their magics were different, perhaps it would work for Klara where it would not for Runa.
Guin felt sick to her stomach, as Pietro and Annie explained the situation to Scott and Jean, and the former X-Men confirmed how dire this was. She hadn't been unaware of this - she'd known for a while how easily this all could go to shit, how quickly Mary could just lose control and kill them all. But she hadn't been able to do anything about it, and with each passing day that Mary was more or less fine, the danger slipped away a little bit more. And it wasn't like she could build a giant gun to kill the Phoenix and force it out of Mary - she'd chatted the logistics with her dad already, before everything with Miranda, and neither of them had been able to come up with something suitable.
Not yet, at least.
She wished that she felt inspired, ready to go save Mary. Instead, she just wanted to go to her room, curl up into a ball, and watch TV until this was all over. Instead, she closed her eyes, and put a hand to her head. They needed all hands on deck. It was time to go save the fucking world - or die trying.
At first, she couldn't quite get a hold of everyone's minds properly, a giant ringing noise pulsing through them all. But then, the ringing cleared, and Guin got her message on through:
Emergency situation. Meet in the war room, X-Men. It's Mary.
"Oh shit, where're you from exactly?" Leda asked, her interest piqued - she hadn't quite caught Madalyne's accent before, but she could hear it now. She'd been born in Los Angeles, but had grown up in Southern England, raised by her grandparents. "I'm from Southampton," she added. She'd grown up with beautiful views of the water, so close to the sea. She missed it, some times - wished that she could've gone back, that she'd go back to her home country. But just as much as she was English, she was also Greek - so just as she dreamed about Southampton, she dreamed of Athens.
It wasn't long until she'd finished her food - she tended to not savor the food here too much, mostly because it tasted pretty mid on a good day, and horrible on all the rest. Leda nodded, standing up and stretching out her arms and legs, loosening them up to relieve some of the stiffness. "Yeah, let's get a move on. Hop on and I'll run us," Leda said, bending down slightly so Mads could climb onto her back. It was tedious moving any slower.

Niah was silent as they walked from the woods back to camp proper. Nancy could feel Niah's eyes on her back, burning with judgment. She shouldn't have been in the woods that morning, she ought to have been attending to her duties as praetor. She shouldn't have been on the edge of shattering at any given moment, she ought to be stronger for Rome, for Mads, for everyone - everyone and everything was depending on her and she could not falter. And Niah knew it. Niah saw Nancy's failure.
The cyclops followed them back, offering to help if needed. Nancy opened her mouth, about to snap and tell him that she needed nothing from a monster like him, but she thought better of it. It was Leandra's trial. Additional strength wouldn't be amiss. "How would you feel about beating the shit out of someone should they try to escape or fuck up their trial?" Nancy asked, completely serious, as they made it back to the Roman side of camp - and she continued on towards where Leandra was being held. "Potentially killing them."

@BlueSky44@Kirah: For a man of science, magic was Arcade's achilles heel. He didn't even have time to react as Andy grabbed onto him with a ghostly, skeletal hand, his flesh rotting away where it held him, revealing the gleaming bone beneath, maggots coming seemingly out of nowhere to feast on his decaying remains. He staggered back, gripping the table the terminal rested on with his non-injured arm. "Y-yes..." he panted, sweat beading on his forehead. "I did forget something."
His eyes narrowed, before the corner of his lips twitched up into a smile.
"So did you." He turned, slamming a button quickly on the keyboard, executing a line of code he had had at the ready, just in case his help seemed to be truly incompetent. He should've known better than to trust matters to his sister - or that decrepit excuse for an android. Both Usagi and Ardere were obsolete. He didn't need them.
And even if Andy and Zari killed him, he'd still win. He'd go down in history for this - he'd be remembered for the blood on his hands.
@Patientbean@Trainerblue192@Natsu: The moment the music box stopped playing, the lights in the house started flickering like crazy, including the flash lights. The trio would be able to hear Gideon go "oh shit!" and make some noise from the other room. But in the flickering light, they'd be able to see something moving towards them, Andy Lensherr crawling on all fours, her head upside down, with strangely sharp teeth and slitted eyes like a cat's. No one had moved to hide or run, and without the crucifix thrown down in front of them, there was only the salt line - and it did nothing to stop the creature. It was suddenly freezing cold, everyone's breaths appearing before them. The EMF detector was silent.
Suddenly, Sabine would hear her own heart beating furiously, and see ghastly fingers come in from each side of her head from behind her, and gouge out her eyes, killing her instantly. The creature then vanished.
To Dorian and Mary Sue, they would see Sabine's dead body, twisted and covered in blood on the ground.
To Sabine, she would find that she was now a ghost inside this house, everything a soft grey - she could see and hear Dorian and Mary Sue, but they couldn't see or hear her.
And then, something horrible happened to all three - pain, excruciating pain. The pain of death. They were dying, with only seconds left to live. This wasn't a temporary death, not just another life lost. This was DEATH.
April Flynn & Percy Novikov

They were screwed. This game wasn't one they could all win - it was one that would see two of them dead, with one remaining to tell the tale. April only had one life left. If she cut the wrong cord, she'd be dead. Not just in the game, but dead dead. Her blood pressure was at an all time high, each pulse of her veins feeling like a thunderous drum. If Vicky tried to hack things again, they could die - she could be overwritten again, and kill them. Or maybe Arcade would finally have enough and kill them. But if they played this game, they'd die. There was no winning - each option had death lurking behind it.
What sort of older sister would she be if she let Zelda die - in her very first semester of school?
"I.... Do it," April swallowed, as the timer counted down, ushering her to make a choice - to risk her life. She waited till the last possible moment, when just a 1 was floating in the sky above her, before April closed her eyes and made her choice at random. There were only six ropes left. And two of them were deadly.
The cord was cut.
April's heart was pounding.
And the next thing she knew, she'd been launched into the sky - and then...
Then there was nothing.
Meanwhile, Vicky and Zelda still had to play the game. It was Zelda's turn. Five left, one of which would kill. And then, something horrible happened to them both - pain, excruciating pain. The pain of death. They were dying, with only seconds left to live. This wasn't a temporary death, not just another life lost. This was DEATH. Percy narrowed his eyes, surprised by the stupidity of the others. Why had he done that to Chi Mai? He thought it had been obvious. "She threatened to kill us. I didn't want to give her the chance." He wasn't familiar with her powers, but given that she had threatened to make them explode, he hadn't wanted to find out if she was capable or not of doing so. Besides, she was merely unconscious - it wasn't like he had killed her. He failed to see why the others were shocked with what he had done - would they have stood by and allowed her to harm them?
He then focused his attention on the strange artifact - the pointed prism. It had different symbols on the sides of it, some sort of a language. He tilted his head, as the symbols slowly came into focus, as his mind translated the meaning. "It says it's called the astral prism - that it contains a small portion of the astral plane and... a person... It's Zari."
But before they could discuss that further, something horrible happened to them all - pain, excruciating pain. The pain of death. They were dying, with only seconds left to live. This wasn't a temporary death, not just another life lost. This was DEATH.
"That's all?" Leda teased. "C'mon, mate, use your imagination some - where are you going on holiday?" It was a practical list, an overly Roman list of things to do. And while they had been traveling together for - Leda actually had no idea how long - she had managed to pull out glimpses of something beyond the tightly wound Roman stereotype. It helped that Mads was a werewolf - she imagined that gave her a bit of a looseness, allowing the stick to come out of her ass.
Leda took another bite of her rabbit, tearing apart at the meat, separating it from the bone. Maybe today would be the day - day? - where they finally made some real progress. Maybe she'd get to see Kiera again - or even just feel the light of the sun on her skin, rather than this eternal shadow.

Nancy relaxed ever so slightly more, as the cyclops explained he was out here gathering supplies for Camp. He was claiming to be affiliated, at the very least - and if he was hostile, he probably would have attacked her by now. Yet still, even with her bow lowered and the tension released, she didn't put the arrow back in her quiver - she kept her weapon at the ready, prepared to loose an arrow into the cyclops' eye at the slightest provocation. "Something like that." Target practice didn't seem like the correct term - stress relief was closer.
She turned quickly as she heard someone approach, her muscles tensed as she prepared for the worst - only to be relieved, and mildly ashamed, to see that it was Niah. She'd been gone longer than she'd realized. And while Nancy didn't necessarily care what others thought of her, she cared what Niah thought of her. Blood pooled in her cheeks for a moment. She clenched her jaw. "I know. I was just leaving." She held out an arm for Joanie, finally putting her arrow in her quiver, and slinging her bow over her shoulder. As soon as her dragon was ready, she started to make her way out of the woods, assuming that Niah was following.
Guin grimaced, quickly scanning the letter in the photograph. The handwriting was definitely Mary's - messy and difficult to parse, but hers. And she didn't need to be a telepath to know what Jean was hinting at, that she was afraid it was all going to happen again - that Dark Phoenix was going to happen. Honestly, the entire Phoenix Force seemed to be more trouble than it was worth. And Mary probably was the last person in the world who should have been given that. If anything, she needed stronger medication and a real therapist. If Guin could've gotten rid of the Phoenix, she would have. In a heartbeat.
"I mean, I love her but - she's actually insane. Maybe it's the Phoenix, but it could also be that she's actually batshit. Or maybe both," Guin shrugged. "But until we get the Phoenix out of her, we won't be able to help her. Do you think you could do that, Jean? You did use to host it." Annie had a good point too, that they could go to Edus to track Mary - Guin was also musing about hijacking a satellite or two and setting it to the task.
"Oh!" That made much more sense to Runa - she was familiar with the process, not so much in terms of beverages, but she had seen reactions of this form before on Asgard. Her brother, Forseti, had enjoyed tinkering with the things around them, often finding strange rocks and adding tinctures to them in order to cause them to fizz. It was a strange magic, but one that Runa enjoyed - one that felt different from her own magics, but no less real or important. The matter of tracking Mary seemed to be resolved quickly, with Edus giving a location. "Cousin, do you feel up for a teleportation spell? I imagine they wish to see their friend quickly. If not, I do still have this sling ring - and it is fun to try a more rugged Midgardian approach to magic every once in a while."
Avery smiled, relieved to hear that from Carolina - and then their eyes widened slightly as her words hit them, replaying once again in their mind. What she liked. They didn't know what to say, freezing for a moment, as if that would stop time. It had been a while since they'd dated anyone at all - yes, they'd had crushes, but nothing serious. They were passing things, moments that drifted in and out of focus. And even when they'd dated Sara, sometimes they'd felt an absence - like there was an emotional need that wasn't being met, like just one person, one love, wasn't right for them. It was something not uncommon in their family, at least their paternal family - their cousin was much the same, as was their aunties. Polyamorous through and through.
So did they like Carolina? Yes. But they liked more than just Carolina - they liked Perry too, for instance. And Max. Gods, did they like Max. But an old and powerful wizard like him would never have eyes for Avery, they knew that. They didn't know how Carolina would feel about that - if she'd be okay with dating someone who was poly - but maybe they were getting ahead of themself.
