Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

IC is up!

@role model All character sheets and discussion on sheets should be kept in the interest check! I'm heading there now to look over sheets, just had a late start getting the IC finished.

Welcome to Mountain City, a city of adventure and intrigue. In Mountain City, a hero is made every day and a villain every night. A thriving metropolis, Mountain City is a modern city, built in the Appalachian Mountains of the eastern United States. Over the years the city thrived with coal mining being its main source of revenue however it quickly became a leading industrial city on the eastern 'States with several noteworthy corporations, factories, and production plants. Westman Chemical Plant, Napier Valley Ammunition Plant, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, and Wells Helicopter are just a few of the reasons people choose to live and work in the grand city of tomorrow. The Mountaineer is widely known for its stories of new superhumans and celebrities, as well as the general local news. Midtown is where most of the action is, as well as the Mercury Mall. Subdivisions, landmarks, and schools include Lee Heights, the Kirby River, Bendis Elementary School, Mountain Avenue [one of the longest streets in America], Simon Middle School, Kubert High School, Riverview [ghetto subdivision], Highland Park, Warpath State Park [in the mountains], the Museum of Tomorrow [tech museum], etc. The city sees a number of tourists as well, all trying to get a glimpse of superhumans in action. Mountain City has more superhumans than any other major metropolitan city in America with a general population of over three hundred and sixty thousand residents with an estimated fifteen thousand superhumans possibly within city limits. And who are these superhumans?

1.) No back-to-back posting.

2.) PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND SET-UPS!!

4.) COLLABORATE! Get permission before using another player's character in your posts if it involves changing the scene or making actions.

11.) In the event that I'm offline for any period of time, the Co-GM [none ATM] will take control and HIS/HER word will then be law.

“Back in the day, I could’ve gone pro. Baseball was always like second nature to me. Over the last eight years or so I’ve got out of shape as often as I’ve been in shape. When the minor leagues dropped me my career was pretty much non-existent.” a man in his 30s thought as he cleaned up the kitchen of a mom and pop’s style diner.

The clock on the wall read 4:30 pm. The restaurant was almost empty and one of the owners walked up to the brown haired man sweeping up near the refrigerators in the back.

“You can go ahead and call it a day, John. We’ll probably close soon. Mondays were always slow even before we moved the diner across town.” The old man said leaning up against a counter as the man swept.

“Sure you don’t need me for anything else, Paul?” he asked putting the broom up.

“Carrie and I should be able to close it up. Did you still need that Tylenol you asked for earlier?” Paul asked in response.

“Yeah… these headaches have been killing me the last few days….” John commented as the man handed him a couple of pills from a bottle. “I’ll see ya in the morning boss…” he said exiting the building. The sign in the front window read “Big Paul’s Diner” and the eatery was located on the edge of Midtown. John passed a few newspaper dispensers. One of them was for the Mountaineer and had the headline “Jenny Valentine Escaped Again!”

Day turned into night, and a man in a blue coat and mask ran and leaped from building to building as if in pursuit of something. Or someone. He came to a stop on the ledge of a building, and looked down at a parking garage. A brunette female exited a car and was greeted with a hug from a young man.

“Jenny!” the young man exclaimed.

“Don’t act so surprised little brother.” The girl responded entering a different car with her sibling. As the two took off in the newer looking sports car, a few goons from the Valentine Gang were left with the other car. One of the men lit a cigarette. The other went to find a corner to take a leak in. Just as the man began to urinate on the side of a wall the man in the blue mask showed up out of nowhere and rammed the man’s head into the wall knocking him out with piss now all over himself.

“Hey you takin’ a piss or dropping a deuce? We need to head back to… what the hell..?” said the other man as Blueface approached him.

“You picked the wrong parking garage to play dress up in!” the man shouted pulling out a knife.

“Your boy won’t be coming to your rescue. He’s K.O.’ed back there in his own piss…” Blueface taunted avoiding the attacks of the gang member.

“**** YOU!” the man screamed before Blueface reacted and grabbed the man’s arm.

“I want you to tell Jenny and her brothers I’m coming for them.” Blueface said still holding the man to the ground by his arm.

“Go to hell you son of a…” the man started to say as the hero proceeded to break his arm, “AAAAAAARGH!”

“Tell them I’m coming for them. Then do yourself a favor and get out of Mountain City.” Blueface said coldly walking away as the man still laid on the ground of the garage screaming in pain.
What is Icheck?

This thread is the iCheck. Secondary character sheets and any other players submitting sheets will need to do so here.

EDIT: I'll also get to the rest of the character sheets in this thread in a couple hours or so!
Took one too many Tylenol PMs and just now hopped on the laptop. Trying to finish the IC opener real quick before my son's basketball practice. If the ending seems rushed... its because it's going to be LOL. Might wait for the rest of the group to repost CS's before we begin the IC to make sure we haven't already lost anybody. Some of the accepted players were fairly new to the guild...

That's where you guys come in. This Sandbox-style RP idea is to build an original universe but not necessarily a team right off the bat unless some of you want to. The general idea is to build a universe similar to how the big two comic book companies have done with heroic crossovers, fights between the heroes, and team-ups leading into the eventual founding of a superteam within the game. Now, that isn't saying you HAVE to join a superteam. Originally in the comics the Hulk only joined the Avengers long enough to take down Loki. When looking at the building blocks of a more connected universe I look to movies and story lines like Batman v Superman, Civil War, the Avengers, Justice League War [the animated retelling of the new52 JL origin], Hulk vs. the Thing, Secret Invasion, etc. There are a lot of teams and concepts involved, but not everyone's characters will be team players or want to be.

Posting requirements include a one post minimum in the IC per week. If we don’t hear from you for ten days in the IC then your name will be removed from the active/accepted player list. I'm not exactly looking for Advanced level length posts, I just don't want to have to assist everyone with their own individual stories because that isn't what this game is about. Two or three players could be working on their own thing in the game while I'm mimicking a battle like Hulk vs Thing or Superman vs Batman with another player in the background. If we lack a Superman or Capt. America type character or somebody else we may need, then the group can have dibs on collectively making them.

Throughout the game we'll create supporting characters and such for our characters and the universe as a group. However, players will also have the option of a secondary character after five posts in-game. Secondary Characters will need the same info as your Primary Characters and will just be used less often whenever you're not coming up with anything for your Primary Characters. Secondary characters will need Character Sheets posted and approved in the iCheck. Sandbox heroes and villains will also be made as we need them and can be used by anyone and everyone and I’ll make a list in the character tab so everyone knows what’s available.

Active/Accepted Characters Include:

Blueface – Me – GM
Black Witch – @NecroKnight
Huntsman – @Still Lake
Savior – @Metamore
Empyrean – @Ruiner
Enorme – @rocketrobie2
Harbinger – @Clever Hans
Noir – @Double
Kaze – @Kazemitsu
Drakos - @DocRock
Pineapple Pizza – @The Bork Lazer

Accepted characters can go ahead and start reposting your characters in the Character Tab. I’m shooting to post the IC later tonight or early in the morning. To anyone who wishes to apply keep any potential Character Sheets and discussions in the iCheck thread.

GM Notes 1/17/20 – I’ll update this part of the opening post whenever something happens that needs to be announced. This opening post may be modified off and on the first few days to include additional info, graphics, etc.
This looks interesting. Is there still room?

There's always room, atm though I'm finishing our OOC before I review any more sheets. I think right now you'd be 3rd in line if you submit something.

OOC should be up shortly. Just gotta double check my coding and all that stuff. My first IC post is also around halfway done.
Before I review any of the more recent Character Sheets I'm going to finish up the OOC. I'm off work tomorrow, so on the off chance I fall asleep I've still got all day Friday.

As for which timezone I'm in, EST.
What are some good examples of potential storylines? I'm having some difficulty coming up with some.

Hero vs hero, team-up's, finding an arch-enemy, joining a team, etc.

Quick question, when will the OOC be going up? Just curious

This evening when I get in from work. Most of my RP time is Sat-Mon, unless I write posts ahead of time I usually just check in and GM the rest of the week. The Sandbox style helps with my time restraints.
