“...uhm, and if you’re concerned about the village’s safety, you could probably talk to lord Enli. Lady Mie m-may also be able to help. Though... I don’t think Lady Mie has any inclination to help with whatever is ailing Dawn. And uhm, forgive me for my inquisitiveness, but are you traveling with that short, black-haired girl with the fox-tailed companion?"
"Okay, first of all, no more of this 'Lord Nick' thing, alright? It sounds weird and I'm not a lord of anything." Nick held a finger up before raising another. "And secondly, that whole sister thing was just a joking metaphor although I won't be surprised if she's actually possessed by an evil demon. And lastly, I should be the one seeking forgiveness for using slang that only confused you. So, uhh, sorry about that."
Looking over to the people the girl mentioned, Nick saw a long-and-black-haired girl with a snazzy costume that had a red cape and a military hat and another girl that had white hair, had a white foxy tail, a pair of white foxy ears and wore what seemed to be Japanese attire of olden times. "No, I don't know them. Are they outsiders too?" Nick observed them more and concluded that they looked several years younger than him. Though, they looked far... fantastical than him. "...They look like trouble though so I'll probably say hi later. I'll stick with you, for now"
"So anyway, about this village blowing up. Do you know anything about that or are you just, like, a guard around here?" Nick continued talking to this horned woman. "Who are you, by the way?"
"Is that they always have a vast mana reserve before replenishment comes into it. All vampires did even before being turned. Even if a vampire is starving and can't possibly replace what they use, what does this tell you about the type of enemy you're going to be fighting?"
"It means that they have a lot of magical power, right? Does that mean that only those with sufficient stores of mana are capable of being turned into vampires?"
Jarde attempted to follow the conversation, but he simply knew too little of the world at large to effectively learn anything. If he was not mistaken, then the first circle Tyaethe drew were beings that could act independently and the second circle were classified as 'undead'. That meant that vampires and some particular undead had wills of their own, while their skeletal brethren needed a master. Jarde was quite envious of Gillian and Fleuri for knowing a lot about this.
Tyaethe's next question was that since vampires were wells of mana even before being turned, what did that mean when fighting them? Fleuri answered before Jarde could, echoing what he was about to say. Vampires had vast amounts of magic on them which means one should always watch out for magic when battling these bloodsucking undead. That said, it seemed only people with high mana reserves could be turned into vampires.
"I guess that means I don't have to worry about turning into a vampire then." Jarde quipped with a stupid grin on his face, implying his lack of magical potential. "No need to resist attacking the innocent, I'd just die immediately!" It was good to know he had a brush with actually dying when he was fighting that Damon guy.
While the Altissimas cooked their meal, it appeared Neil was busy doing the same. His pan crackled with oil and he could be seen grabbing eggs and condiments to add to his creation. When the Liliraune was done with their beef wellington, Neil was also finished with his dish: A very basic plate of three bacon strips and a couple of eggs conjoined with each other with a bit of seasoning on top.
"Okay, so I lied about being a great chef. Sue me, hahahaha!" Neil laughed at his obvious defeat. "I never intended to challenge you two, much less beat you. I just wanted you two to enjoy the festival." He explained. "...Aaand maybe to get a super delicious meal prepared exclusively for me. Hahaha!"
Whether or not the Altissima sisters did something about Neil's lighthearted deception, they would dine on the results of their little competition before heading back to the Guild with Neil once again being the pusher for the Liliraune's cart. Boreal Port still flared with celebration but the Guild would be done for tonight.
The Guild reunited in the dead of night back in their headquarters. Vară and Nagare would see the Guild's entrance repaired, although with a bit of difference. While the rest of the structure had the perfect architecture of Dwarven design, the entrance seemed to be a crude imitation of that design. Regardless, it was an entrance of double doors and the difference couldn't be seen from a distance anyway.
Yang and Kira greeted the other guild members but also broke the news that Ozzy had also left with Margaret, the Owl Harpy they were with during the incident back in Boreal Port. The news of having one less member was a bitter way to end the night of what was a day of celebration and relaxation.
The morning dawned and the Guild was back to work. Breakfast was served and most of the Guild had assembled in the main hall to pick out their quests for the day.
-----MAIN QUESTS-----
Guild, it is me again, Maria Corazon. We have received reports that an Order caravan is going to Varjo to supply its forces with weapons and food. We cannot let our oppressors become more powerful. We must stop them.
Meet us in the river bridge south of your headquarters. There I will explain the details.

Neil's Comments: More business with Varjo. Although, I think you'll be messing with the Order this time around.
-----SIDE QUESTS-----
Hey all! Why do I feel like this happened before? Whatever!
Meet me in Ambran and join me as we apprehend a criminal for truth and justice! And money of course! Oh and I hope you know how to fight since we're gonna get into a tussle with these guys, fo sho!

Neil's Comments: Oh, it's this guy again. Well, at least he's being less weird this time.
Magandang araw sa inyo!
I am Crispin Aguilar and I am tracking a long-lost family heirloom that would be worth much gold in this day and age. However, I am not familiar with these lands anymore for my family and I have been away from here for a long time. Thus, I ask for company to point me at the right direction or maybe keep me safe. You can find me at the northern edge of Lozagon Forest.
Once we find the treasure, you will get a generous cut for your services.

Neil's Comments: Hmm, sounds like treasure hunting. Since it'll be taking place up north, I don't think there'll be much trouble. Maybe just an annoyance or two.
There's a weird man wandering or loitering the northern part of Tulisan Forest. He's pretty fortunate that the bandits there haven't noticed him but he really looks like he could use a hand. I don't wanna spend any manpower to investigate this so I'll just pay you to do it.

Neil's Comments: I wonder who this guy is. It can't be that guy who got lost in Lokdar Swamp, can it?
A band of unruly warrior monsters came by Mahigan the other day. Normally, they would just annoy the townspeople but a guy who fancies himself a poet started following them and asking all sorts of questions. The monster band got irritated and decided to kidnap him for ransom, taking him deep into Lozagon Forest.
I doubt the annoying poet guy is in any real danger but I'm pretty sure he'd pay well for being saved. And this band of idiots needs to be taken down a peg, anyhow.

Neil's Comments: Be careful on this rescue mission. Oh, and Sir Reed told me not to bring any men on this mission since he said if a man beats a monster girl, especially a Lizardman or a Salamander, then bad things happen.
A strange figure has been sighted in Valoras Woods. Witnesses said it looked like some sort of ape-like creature that walked on two legs. Brown fur covers its entire body, obscuring its other features. It doesn't look like a monster girl so can you please investigate? I'll see if I can join in the search.

Neil's Comments: ...You guys have Bigfoot here? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Maybe I'll come along with this and see what's this all about.
The pouch flew to the unconscious Blizzard, and hit the Vulpo at the her torso.
...
Nothing happened.
The Operators waited, with bated breath, for something to happen. But nothing did, and they relaxed knowing that there were no illusions here nor were there traps of any kind. That still begged the question, "If this is all real, then how did Blizzard get here?" Ibon said. "The last time I saw her, she was carried into the forest by Rex, another teammate of ours. Did he take her here?"
Before Ibon's question was answered, Wu took the initiative to approach the sleeping Blizzard personally. He slowly went up to her and placed a hand on her still shoulder. "Blizzard...?"
Suddenly, the Vulpo shot upwards, startling everyone. "There's someone outside!" Blizzard yelled before hopping out of her bed, pushing aside Wu and the other Operators and bolting out of the room. Presumably, rushing to exit out of the radio facility.
"Guys, we have to follow her!" Ibon was the next to move, following her team leader.
It slowly emerged out of the forest with a simple wooden staff. He raised his hands and staff outward and exclaimed. "Outsiders! Do you wish to survive this dark land? Do you wish to see another day within this forest ruled by the Cursed Rock?"
The voice was male and he awaited a response. Blizzard still stared while Wu and Ibon were too dumbfounded to answer.
Hey guys! Unfortunately, I need time to organize the next quests as well as other stuff so the update will come next week. In the meantime, a question for y'all.
Do you think there's enough NPCs in the guild or do you think it could use more? If so, are there any character types you'd like to be added?
"We're here tah save this place from a god gone mad. Aye shoulda told ye th' details on the way-- but aye think weh just found our first lead. Aye'll explain when we get a quiet minute and ain't in the open-- c'mon lad."
"A god gone mad, huh?" Nick was already intimidated. "I'm sure this'll be easy..."
Donovan then met with a beautiful and effeminate, fair-skinned man with long and flowing hair. Apparently, he and Donovan knew each other. From what Nick could infer, it appeared they had been together not too long ago and were in trouble of some kind. The beautiful man's name was not revealed to Nick and he appeared to be in a hurry, offering Donovan and Nick rest with rather flamboyant language. He then took off and Nick noticed he had a bow in his hands.
"I take it you know that Fabio-looking dude back there?" Nick asked Donovan. "He looks giddy with that bow of his."
Nick was following Donovan the entire time and it appeared they were following the girl they saw earlier, but then they were stopped when a voice spoke to them from behind.
“...Dawn. T-the name of the village, that is. Forgive my impudence for speaking out of turn, but you seemed curious so I thought to be of help. And if I have not offended then perhaps I can be of service in some manner?”
It was the horned woman and now that she was up close, Nick could discern the details of her appearance. She wore what appeared to be feminized samurai armor complete with a pair of those Japanese katanas on her hips. She also had one of those Japanese demon masks, completely hiding her face. But not her very noticeable reddish horns that protruded from her forehead. "Thanks. Dawn, huh? That's a nice name. Although, this village might not be seeing one very soon."
"I'm Nick, and this is Donovan." He introduced the two of them before explainig anything. "We heard from a deer that this place is about to go belly up. Know anything about that?"
"Nice horns, by the way. My little sister has them too, although only I could see it." Nick could not take his eyes off the woman's horns. It was enchanting for him, to say the least. They looked so natural, and Nick knew they were. But at the same time, he was not used to seeing horns on humanoids since there were none back in Earth.
