“Locally, we know him as Iva’Krorh, the God of Knowledge. He illuminates ones path towards secrets, and gifted humans the first spark of knowledge and motivation to...create. ...Truthfully, though, people forget his domain isn’t simply knowledge, but the mind itself. When we say ‘knowledge’ we truly mean he’s the one that allowed us to think and understand the world around us, and the right to revoke such knowledge as well - but the cost of doing so was said to have driven him mad.”
Lord Enli

Enli explained who the God of Knowledge by taking a scroll and laying out the parchment for Nick and Donovan to see. The latter probably already knew him, but Nick could definitely use the pointers as this was the third god he'd known in this world so far. However, Nick was confused at the drawings on the scroll. Was Iva'Krorh the old man or the grandma in the cloak? Maybe they were the same person? Nick kept the questions to himself for now and allowed Enli to continue.

"I truly do not know what is happening in Dawn. Only that things aren't...right and things are outside of my control aside from keeping the people safe..."
Lord Enli

"Bummer. But thanks, anyway." Nick searched his head for anything else to ask the village leader. He then snapped his fingers when he remembered. "Oh! There's been other outsiders that came to this village, right? Mind telling us where they are? Are they working on this problem too?"

"And I've heard that there's a Lady Mie hanging around here? What's up with her?"
@LiverisGood

"Who are you and how did you find us? Why do you want to help us?"
Medivac

"I know this land well, outsiders. I know this forest, and this forest knows me. Know me as the Soothsayer. I warn of the gnawing evil of this land, but the Cursed Rock knows this and so, keeps me here until it finally steals my last breath." The stranger replied to Medivac. "I give you my aid for it is my sworn duty to save the innocent and the ignorant and combat this land's ravenous hunger. Every life it consumes makes this world more miserable... and its power grows."

"He sounds like a madman." Wu remarked.

"But the advice he gives might be useful." Ibon added.

"Heed my words, outsiders! The Miasma that protects the village is absent here. Without that barrier, the forest will unleash its fury upon you each night that you stay here." The Soothsayer proclaimed. "You must fortify this dilapidated abode, for the forest's minions will make their assault until they overcome you. It might seem easy at first, but that is only because the forest is only testing your strength. Once it has known you, you will all be doomed."

"We don't plan on staying here in the first place." Wu replied.

"Then do not tarry. Complete your tasks, and escape this dark land while you still can." The Soothsayer then retreated back into the woods, disappearing completely.

Blizzard was left panting, turning around to look at the other Operators as sense came back to her. "Well that was... something. I'm glad you two are alright." Blizzard told Wu and Ibon before glancing at Radiant and Medivac. "Who are these two? Are they part of the other teams?"

"Kyrnith, tha Elder beast, not ah god."
Donovan MacConaill

"...What difference does that make?" Nick replied to Donovan's correction.

Lord Enli seemed shocked to hear that Nick and Donovan met with Kyrnith. Sounds like this deer go-- Elder Beast was more important in this story than he seemed although, Nick failed to mention that only Donovan managed to meet with the deity. Nick was only going off of what Donovan had told him about the matter. Then there's the matter with someone called 'The Illuminator'. "Illuminator? Wait, who's 'The Illuminator'? Is it one of Kermit's other names? Are we involved in a god-on-god fight?"

“If you wish to help, then maybe you should start with that old temple in the forest. Some other travelers already agreed to help, so perhaps it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to get their help. An odd Bastelian, a black haired girl and Kitsune from Chagawa. Quite a few to be honest.”
Lord Enli

"Hmm, I don't think they are what you think they are, my dude." Nick said to Enli before turning to Donovan. "Looks like some other people's working on this already. Are we still gonna go help? I mean, I don't wanna attend a show that's already over. You get what I'm saying?"

Sir Reed sighed and shook his head when he saw Ditzy justify himself before heading out the door with Nagare. Ada was also excited to go and Reed saw no reason to stop her. Exasperated, he told Ada, "Knock yourself out, Ada. Maybe the Lizardmen there can figure out what you are."

"I love you Haley. No one else. We can still go to help Ditzy if you want but... Maybe we should get another request? Like that one... It doesn't sound as... 'risky' as the one Ditzy took..."
Freyr

Haley giggled. "I'm flattered, hun. Really, I am. I'm glad that you only have eyes for me." The Siren then looked at her lover dead in the eye. "But you have to promise me that you won't break another woman's heart for me, alright? I don't mind, okay? It's how we monsters roll. Just... let me know, alright? Not that you can keep a secret like that from me."

"But alright, we'll do that one instead. I'm no fighter and I don't think I'd wanna square up with a bunch of warrior monsters." Haley had made her decision.

"I'll go join Nagare in looking after Ditzy, then." Sir Reed also said.

Ditzy led the Guild members to Lozagon Forest and behind him were an equally-excited Ada and their chaperones, the ice dragon Nagare and Sir Reed who had come with despite protesting the presence of males for this quest.

They were about to cross the bridge to a river when they happened upon a small caravan with assorted monsters with it: Lizardmen, Minotaurs and Orcs. The three wagons of the caravan were being pulled by large boars and had all sorts of stuff in them: Supplies, tents, weapons and armor. "Looks like the warrior monsters' left Lozagon Forest..." Sir Reed remarked.

The caravan was also heading the Guild members' way. "...and heading south towards us, it seems." Reed turned towards his fellow members. "Do we come up with a plan or do we just charge and hope for the best? I prefer the former, by the way."

The Great Horizons 3

You and Haley journey to Tulisan Forest, enjoying each other's company. No incident occurred in-between so it was a pleasant stroll through the grasslands for the two of you. "I hope this quest doesn't take us too deep into Tulisan Forest. The southern half is in Varjan territory and we... don't wanna go there." Haley remarked.

Upon arriving at the forest's edge, however, you and Haley immediately come after a man sitting beside a tree. His coat and trousers and shoes all looked expensive, albeit they were worn and dirty as if they had been exposed to the elements for far too long. The man himself was also dirty, his fair skin was caked with dirt and mud. He had a ragged, unkempt beard and he could be heard mumbling as he drew shapes on the soil with a stick.

"What the hell...?"

"Are you the ones who send request to The Guild?"
Yang Bethlehem

"Guild?" The spearman motioned to his fellows to lower their weapons. "Come, come. I take you to Maria."

Yang and Kira was then taken deeper into the rock formations. Hidden behind the large stones was a camp filled with an entire regiment of warriors. Sonarran rebels, armed with Varjan gear. The two women saw Varjan Warriors with their dark armor and fearsome visages and Tribal Brigands who were only clothed in fur and leathers. An emblem of a yellow sun could be seen engraved on their armor to show they were rebels.

Maria was in the middle of the camp, discussing the operation with her sergeants around a campfire. Unlike the others, she wore no armor and was garbed in her usual attire. Yet, all these men followed her lead. "Ah! The Guild, I knew you would come." Maria approached the Guild members with a greeting. "I'm sorry for this but we cannot be too careful. This land is very dangerous."

"Please, over here." Maria motioned to join her in the bonfire. "I recognize Yang the Monk but who is the Beelzebub?"

“You shouldn’t say things like that! Everyone has their value, the other members have special advantages and experience yes, but you can be every bit as useful! Have you forgotten that you saved my life once? I honestly think you should have more confidence in yourself, everyone starts somewhere after all. You should have more pride in yourself, Neil.”
Vară Riemsianne

Neil was astounded for a moment by your pep talk. Perhaps it was corny. But then, a bright smile formed as he chuckled in joy. "Thanks for that, Vară. You're the best."

Taking a more confident tone, Neil continued. "To be complimented by a noble lady of the Riemsianne family. Truly, there is no greater honor." He indulged in flowery language. "My humblest gratitude, Lady Vară. Hahaha!"

“So, this Ian North person, how much do you know about him? Does he seem like someone we would want to work with?”
Vară Riemsianne

"Err..." Neil was unsure of what to reply. That probably didn't mean anything good. "I-I heard from the other guild members that he's... eccentric, to say the least. B-But he does pay a lot so there's that."

The carriage soon arrived at Ambran. The town was lively as ever, as expected of a place where trade and commerce was celebrated every day. Activity bustled through the cobblestone streets, rows of vendor stands lined the sides while people and horses and wagons browsed the goods or were making their way to somewhere in the busy town.

You and Neil bade farewell to Talia, who seemed to be glaring at you for some reason. After parting ways, you and Neil made for the guard barracks located at the center of the town. Upon arriving there, a man in a full suit of armor was waiting just outside and leaning on the barracks wall. His gray armor concealed his entire body and had gold decorations as well as blunt spikes on it, likely only for aesthetic.

The man in the armor noticed you and waved over. "Hey! You guys are here! I've been waiting for months for someone to accept my quest, you know?" Months? His quest was up for only a couple of days. "Well, that doesn't matter. You're here and we can get this show on the road." Despite the armor, this man acted more like a naive adventurer or clown.

"Y-You're Ian North, right?" Neil asked.

"The one and only! I do believe I took down an impostor yesterday back in the Boreal Port festival. Turns out, he was great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson, Keith." Ian replied, speaking confidently as if that was the truth. "And you two are... Neil and Vară! Yeah! I've been exerting great effort recognizing the Guild members, you know? You two look cute together, by the way.

The class discussed about Vampires some more. Apparently, there were different levels of being a Vampire. Well, that was how Jarde saw it. Magic was a Vampire's greatest strength so a Vampire Mage who has matured and refined into their new race was someone nobody should be fighting. There were other details, Jarde was sure, but he really couldn't keep up with all of it.

They then talked about weaknesses. Holy water seem to be effective in causing Vampires pain. Jarde would know, he was saved by one. Alas, Sir Gillian revealed that those simply inconvenience Vampires. A way to distract them, so to speak. Ways of killing a vampire include excessive maiming that they couldn't regenerate. If that didn't work, then flaming weapons or blessed weapons would do. Reon's stuff was already on fire but Mayon can freeze and frozen body parts can't regenerate. One can also use magic, but that would require being more than adept at the mystical arts.

Bottom-line was: Vampires were powerful beings, much like grand wizards or giant dragons. Taking these kinds of threats head-on was tantamount to suicide. One should be well-prepared before facing such adversaries. "You know, if these guys are nigh-immortal, why don't they team-up and just start, you know, kicking ass and taking names?" Jarde mused, absent-mindedly. "I'll bet they'd be amazing, they can cover each other's weaknesses and all."

It was then that Captain Fanilly entered the room, mentioning that the teacher Paladin had something to say to her.

Entering the Chief's longhouse was easier than Nick expected. A sole hunter stood guard and was quick to let them in once they stated their purpose here.

As they entered, Nick felt warmth emanate from within. Probably coming from the big fire pit sitting in the middle of the longhouse. It was a nice change of temperature from the cool outdoors. Trophies from hunts hung from the walls with tables and chairs under them. Bookshelves filled with scrolls and papers could be seen at the far back. Nick was honestly amazed at what he saw. Not even the museums back home managed to capture the aesthetic of life in early civilization this vividly, and here he was experiencing it first hand.

Lord Enli then presented himself, an old man in robes with a notable emblem on it.

"More travelers? The Goddess is certainly planning something isn't she? ...and one so young and inexperienced seeming. I welcome you to Dawn. What can I do for you two? We don't have much, and with the forest getting more and more dangerous these days I can offer little in the way of hospitality."
Lord Enli

"Uhh, hello." Nick waved. He was not at all prepared to meet someone who lead an entire village. "Umm... I-I'll get to the point. I'm Nick and this is Donovan and we're here to help out in whatever's troubling your village." He introduced themselves to the Chief. "More particularly, Donny over here met with a deer god in the forest. Kermit or Kernith or something. Anyway, the god said this village was about to blow and we're here to help stop that."

A sinking feeling came over Nick. Enli mentioned 'more travelers' which meant that he and Donovan were definitely not the first ones here. Could there be a possibility that maybe, just maybe, the situation was already being resolved? Well, that would put a damper on things, wouldn't it?

"Good morning! I'll get down first and get us something to eat before choosing what we will do today."
Freyr

"Hrrrmmm... can't it wait, Freyr?" Haley whined in the bed, still wanting to sleep. "Can't we cuddle some more in the bed? Last night was pretty... tiring. Hehe~"

Once she saw her partner get up completely though, the Siren had no choice. "Ugghhh... Fine!" She buried her face into her pillow for a few moments before completely waking.

“Ditzy-kun, I know you’re strong, but perhaps we should excerise caution on this quest. After all, they’ll have us outnumbered!”
Nagare

"Why don't we join in then?" Haley joined the conversation along with Freyr. "We might still be outnumbered but some extra heads will even the playing field somewhat. We can even include Ada, since she'll need something to do and someone to watch her now that her main caretaker, Ozzy, is gone."

A furious Sir Reed then stepped in. "Have you heeded nothing of what I said?!" He scolded the assembled party. "If you take on these warrior monsters, no doubt they will fall for Ditzy and Freyr's combat prowess. The monsters will swarm over them." He said. "You, Haley. Your beloved bunny man will have a harem of warriors formed around him. Are you okay with that?"

The Siren was taken aback. "W-Well, I-I mean... if that's what Freyr wants then..."

The two women made their way south, not stopped by Bart at all. Yang might want to explain in detail the situation to Kira about Bart and his wariness of Varjo on the way. Nothing of note happened during their trip. Thankfully, as they will need all their energy for this quest.

Once they arrived at their destination by midday, they were met by several large boulders by the road from where a squad of five men jumped out and surprised the duo with spears at the ready. They wore leather and fur armors, their faces hardened and gruff. Even the younger ones in the squad had that veteran look. They were Tribal Spearmen, usually in the service of Varjo.

However, they did not attack the duo. "Taas niyo kamay niyo! Taas! Sabi ko, taas!" One of the spearmen spoke Sonarran, ordering Yang and Kira. Sounds like these were rebels the Guild was aiding this day. "Up! Up! Hands!"

Help, Wanted 2
~@AzureKnight (VRA)~

While you were walking towards Ambran, a wagon suddenly pulled up beside you. Aboard this wagon were the familiar faces of Talia and Neil. "Hey now, it won't do for noble Demoness like you to be walking on foot. Hop on aboard, Vară!" He would then help you up the wagon and the trio made their way to Ambran.

"I'm actually just going to Ambran to buy building supplies for the Guild. I'll be dropping you two off and then we'll be parting ways." Talia said from the driver seat. Wait, did she say 'two'?

"Yeah, I-I'll be joining you for this quest Vară." Neil scratched the back of his head. "I-I know I'm no figher, and I'll probably just get in the way but... it's kinda lonely to be tackling a quest by yourself, right?"

Regardless of your answer, the wagon galloped on under the clear midday sky. Nothing incidental happened during the trip, just small talk between Neil and Talia before the former remembered something and turned to you. "Ah, that's right. I'm sorry I couldn't talk to you much during the festival. My hands were kinda full that day sooo, sorry." He smiled sheepishly.
@Raineh Daze

Heh, sorry for the late reply. I'll try to get one out soon but you don't have to wait for me. Jarde has nothing to add to convo anyway.

“N-no, its fine. I should not speak out of turn.”
Haruno

Nick had to stop himself from laughing. This girl was taking this joke way too far and way too seriously. He wanted to stop her and explain but it looked like she managed to stop all by herself to explain further. Still, the concern she showed for a stranger's sister's well-being earned her a good first impression from Nick. She might just be some guard for someone around here, Lady Mie from what he heard, but Nick now at least knew a contact he could count on.

“I apologize again for not being more help in whatever trouble is plaguing here. I would need to get Lady Mie’s permission before I could, and she’s currently busy. I would suggest meeting with lord Enli. He lives in the longhouse up there. He’s this towns...Chief, I think they call him.”
Haruno

"Alright, me and Donny here will go see this Enli guy. Thanks for the help, Miss Haruno." Nick finished. "...Hmm, you don't happen to be free to join us, are you? We sure could use the company of someone familiar with the place." Haruno didn't seem to be a local of this village, though. But even so, she definitely knew more about this place than Nick right now.

Regardless of Haruno's answer, Nick would head to the longhouse where this Lord Enli resided. From there, questions would be asked regarding this settlement's problems and Nick would add if Lord Enli knew anything about this deer god named Kyrnith.
