Belladonna

Time: Noon
Location: Roshimi City

Interaction: @Tae - Torvi, @helo - Bowyn

Belladonna raised her eyebrows at Torvi with surprise at her words, then inhaled sharply at the sudden tremor. Her eyes widened as she glanced around. No-one else looked as if they had noticed. Her gaze settled on Torvi and knew in her heart she had found another human. She didn't dare speak it yet, and exchanged glances with Elleta. "I understand, and it is okay. We all can difficulty trusting people right now. It's understandable, since I do too. Little Blue is a nickname I had as a child, which is why I gave that out instead. You can call me that for now." She toed the line of how much she would reveal and added, "I am sure the humans are on everyone's mind. I would hate for them to end up in a situation that was detrimental for them. They didn't ask to come here."

Belle sighed and set her glass down and turned to listen to Bowyn. A smirk of amusement crossed her face now. He was keeping it moderately spicy, which was something she could do as well. She didn't want to accidentally provoke them further and reveal more magic. Belle especially didn't want to accidentally use hers as well in case someone noticed. Elleta noticed Belle went to speak and quickly spoke instead. "We're from the Moon Elf Kingdom." Their voices were quieter and people had stopped staring. Belle kept glancing ever so often in Rosemary's direction as not to attract attention to her existence. The woman had a shield of light magic around her to keep her invisible to everyone else so she could remain vigilant and protective. Her gaze focused back on Bowyn. The alarm was evident in her eyes, but she didn't show that she had noticed.

"It would be both, Bowyn. Your delightful playfulness is quite entertaining, so thank you for it." Belle took another sip of her glass and noticed it was almost gone. She didn't want to ask for it to be refilled and draw anymore attention to their table. So, she waited for Bowyn to finish speaking and snickered when he mentioned the humans. She could sense his scrutiny upon mentioning them and kept her expression impassive. She continued to pick at the food, her stomach now churning. Would it be a mistake to befriend these two? Bowyn, or Frosty to her, was going to be difficult; the woman Torvi, perhaps not as much.

Belle had to remind herself to be cautious. She was after all, the Golden Death Rebellion leader. The thought of it caused her temples to begin to throb and her expression to briefly show some stress. She didn't want anyone else to experience the sheer stress, aggravation and anxiety she felt at the moment. What if she trusted them on accident and led to her being revealed and murdered; then what? Elleta seemed to catch onto her situation and spoke for her.

"It would seem as though the humans arrival in Avalia has everyone on edge. The few Elves who participated in their arrival bare the responsibility and them alone." In that moment, Belle wondered how much Elle and Rosemary had to do with the arrival and if that was why they were hellbent on keeping her safe, excluding other reasons. She felt bitterness rise momentarily, then let it go. They were the closest things she had to friends right now; and besides, their concern over her was sweet, too. She wasn't used to the genuine concern. She smiled softly at Bowyn. "I do like winter fairies. It's been a pleasure meeting you both, Torvi and Bowyn. Your sentiments are forgiven. I can understand your tenacity. I would like to help you if you would allow us both to assist you, however I can understand if you decline." Belle smiled at her faintly and thanked her silently. What would she do without her? Belle didn't want to halt her sassy remarks, but she didn't want to continue dividng them further or causing more of a rift.

"It isn't a problem, Bowyn. I lost my home many times as well, so I can understand your bitterness. I do think you and I are similar in some ways we may not know yet. Furthermore, I would like to apologize as well for my partial rudeness, too." She then took a deep breath and added, "To make up for it, if you are hungry or thirsty, I can buy the next round. Please let me know what you would like." Belladonna glanced at Elleta who nodded in agreement.
Nikolaus

Time: Dusk
Location: The Pit
Interaction: @princess - Angel

Nikolaus stood overlooking the scene with arms crossed. His hair danced in the wind gently while his swords glistened under the moonlight. Drips of what appeared to be blood were sliding off of them and otno the ground. How he enjoyed the night time; it was his favorite part of the day. He loved staying up late and watching the stars with his sisters, Mishka and Anastasia. His heart ached as he thought of them and felt adrenaline pulse through his veins. He clenched his fists while he listened to them addressing Angel like she was livestock. He understood vampires needing blood, but why the hell did they have to be so cruel? Humans were just as valuable. No matter; they would be gone shortly anyway. Angel and he had to be careful not to let people know of their experiments or else the advantage they had over Viet-Et-Mort would be lost. The mere thought of them caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up. His fists were clenched hard enough to turn white.

Niko let out a deep sigh as he readied himself and adjusted his faux leather gloves. He tightened the bandanna over his face to help conceal his identity. He didn't want word getting out who he was or else there would be more trouble and right now, he couldn't afford it. Niko flicked the lighter and moved to the edge of the roof. Niko felt torn over his experimental abilities; the super strength, enhanced senses and durability were both helpful but God, were the side effects awful. Niko stared down at Angel and felt his heart race slightly. If he had been late, she could have been captured or killed. The spastic loner was going to need a talking to when he was finished. The stress level she was causing him was going to require monitoring soon. No matter - he was going to solve it. Niko took a deep breathe and then took a running jump off the roof and landed beside Angel. The vampires jumped with shock which caused him to laugh coldly.

"Jumpy, aren't we?" He taunted with a loud laugh as they began to study him. "Take it in, bloodsuckers. Enjoy the view while you can." He paused and stared at the two discussing Angel's humanity. This made him grin as he pulled down the scarf to reveal it. His sharp teeth were showing, another semi-helpful addition of the experimentation. God, he felt superhuman sometimes and he didn't know whether to love or hate it.

"You're right, she isn't human; in fact, she's a demon sent from hell. Spooky isn't it?" He mimicked her use of 'spooky' earlier which he had been able to hear on his way in. Niko took his bloody swords out and grinned menacingly at the vampires. "Whose next?" He gestured to his sword and unexpectedly stabbed the nearest vampire. He then pulled his bloody sword out and whirled around to impale the next one. This time, he left the sword in so he could grab the previous vampire he'd stabbed and grabbed them by the throat. He slammed him into the concrete brick wall behind him and glared with hostility at him. The vampire was struggling and gasping with his eyes wild with fear and panic. Niko kept an eye on the other vampires, though he wanted to leave them for Angel. They seemed perplexed and afraid to approach him now. They were uncertain for sure.

"Humans aren't food you little shit and women aren't here for your sick pleasures." He glared daggers at them both. He glanced at Angel briefly, then away and back to the vampires. He straightened up and assessed them both as he listened to them speak. T

"What are you two?" The vampire struggled to free himself from Niko's strong grasp with wide eyes. Nikolaus didn't have any tolerance for these vermin, though he didn't exactly enjoying terrorizing them either. He didn't want to admit where his frustration was truly originating from. He didn't need the distractions or the memories right now.

"We're your worst nightmare." Niko then slammed him into the wall with all his strength and cracked his skull. The blood began oozing out. Niko turned and thrust him at the other two vampires with sudden force. They yelled out with shock and moved away with wide eyes. "They're yours." He told her simply and locked eyes with her briefly. With a deep sigh, he moved to Angel's side protectively and retrieved his bloody sword from the vampire. With a grin, he pulled his scarf back up to conceal his face while he awaited their next move as the remaining two now began to circle them with hatred and hostility.

Corvina
Time: Late Morning
Location: Biralei residence--->Small inn in the city
Interaction: @Tae - Kenia ✦ @princess - Malachi ✦ @Inertia Rei

Corvina listened to Kenia's words and nodded in reply. She formed fireballs in both hands and quickly set the linen ablaze. The fireplace roared to life and began to smother the linens. After she burned them, Corvina quickly finished packing the rest of her belongings. She was then instructed by Kenia to burn the rest of the house. Corvina stared at the Elven woman and bit her lip. Burn the whole house? She nodded again, though in compliance. Once they were out of the house, Corvina stood alone in the foyer. The gasoline stayed around her, though she didn't have fear of being burned. Cora quickly tied her hair into a bun and smoothed the rest of it out of her face. Cora then looked at the mask Kenia had pulled over her face in on the first day and tied it around her mouth and nose as well. She took a few steps away and summoned the flames once more on her hands.

She shut her eyes and took several deep breaths. Quickly, the hallway began to light up with flames. She continued to imagine the household in flames with total devastation following. The roar of flames greeted her, though it wasn't enough. She focused harder and began to shoot fireballs in different directions. Corvina turned in circles and stepped away from the gasoline before that area lit up. She then turned to watch as the portraits of Kenia's children lit up and spoke softly to it: "May you beautiful blessings rest in peace and may you never be forgotten. I can tell your mother loves you still." Corvina then shot fireballs into both of them in which they quickly began burning. They would be gone within minutes.

Cora then began to stride through the house, checking off which rooms were burning and which needed some more incentive. She glanced upstairs and found it hadn't lit on fire yet. She growled and shot more fireballs at it. Her focus was stronger than before, but not enough. She shut her eyes as she moved up the steps and halted. What else could she did? She shut her eyes and took deep breaths. She imagined the dragolich nearly burning them alive and suddenly the flames grew stronger, but still not enough. She opened her eyes to gaze at the damage. More fire had eagerly licked up the gasoline. No, nothing from Avalia would be enough for her yet. Corvina had only been semi-conscious that night. She took another deep breathe and began searching her past. Pain began to emerge. She wished she could never remember this day. Tears formed in her eyes, but she bit them back and opened them. She held her hands out as flames began erupting around the house...

When Cora opened her eyes, not only were tears streaming down her face, but the entire house was scorched in flames. She wiped her eyes with her sleeves. She glanced at the house and relished the flames around her. A smirk crossed her face as she strode down the staircase and then towards the door. She stared at the wall of flames and raised her hands. The wall of fire parted for her as she strode out of it and rejoined the others. Cora didn't look back as her mind replayed the memory in her mind. This time, she wouldn't be betrayed, nor would she runaway from her problems. She wouldn't end up in that position ever again. Corvina vowed to herself she would trust herself more this time and do whatever it took to protect the ones beside her and herself in this strange world.

Corvina strode through the city quietly with the others. However, due to using so much of her magic, she felt drained and ate as much as she could. She needed something to keep her energy up and her worries dim. She had ate in silence during lunch, only making friendly chitchat. Once they were in an Inn safely did she begin speaking. She was slightly more upbeat and pleasant. She had sat down and rested her head against the wall behind her, with another cloth around her neck in case she had to use her power once more.

"That would be nice, thanks Kenia. It would help us blend in more as well, though we should keep to our group only and maybe disguise ourselves a bit more. Is there anything else you can do with your magic? We don't know if that fox gave out our descriptions or not, so it might be best to hang as low as possible."

Artemis
Time: Early Morning > Noon
Location: Devil's Bay > Malthemoor
Interaction: @FunnyGuy Darius | @13org Myra

While Artemis knew she was on Daka, she had not expected to be approached by a demon so quickly. Her eyes widened as she stared at her. With apprehension rising, she out a low growl. Just as quickly as the demon approached her, so did a male.. human? She stared, utterly transfixed. He was not an elf, since his ears were not pointy. She didn't have time to ponder, because He began to move quickly towards her. She jumped with surprise and emanated a warning growl, but let it subside as he began to speak. The man began to speak and his words confused her. Just like her? What the hell was he saying? He was a merman? Artemis tensed as he moved slowly in front of her and his hands to her face. She quickly realized he was removing her muzzle and stared with shock. How long had she been wearing that, she had forgotten. No matter, it was gone now.

Once it was disposed of, Artemis spat on it with hatred. When it was gone though, it revealed her face: deep, indented scars from the muzzle lined her mouth. Her soft, doe brown eyes were reddened from crying, and her cheeks and forehead had scarring as well. Her indigo hair was messy and hanging around her face, tangled. Around her neck too, were faint hand marks, indicating she had been strangled on more than one occasion. The most noticeable were her muzzle scars. She had seen them before and felt her heart break at the sigh. After it was off, she stared at the man with confusion. Still confused, she held her bond wrists up to him for him to remove as well. However, he had already been instructing the demon - Myra - to remove them.

There was a lump in her throat. Was this actual freedom happening? It had been years; Artemis had lost all hope of it. Still, she refused to give into hope; this had to be some sick game. Finally, and after a few struggles, spoke, "Just.. like me? what do you... mean? What are you? How did... How did you find me?" Artemis coughed and began gulping in air. It felt incredible to breathe in air normally. As she adjusted to her situation, she could hear a faint trickle of a pond nearby and yearned to be closer to it. "I need to.. I need to get over there." Artemis turned and pointed to the sound of the lake. She fixed her bodysuit and parka around her, though she couldn't wait to remove the parka. Sadly, it was too cold here.

"Darius... Myra," She tested their names and then stared at them. Another lump formed in her throat, but she ignored it. "I'm... Artemis."

Belladonna

Time: Late Morning / Noon

Belladonna listened to Torvi speak and waited patiently for her questions to finish. Once they had, she replied smoothly and without missing a beat. It was a convincing enough lie, though it remained partially true. "I don't know if the perpetrators have been caught yet. I guess we'll see in a few days," Belle didn't glance at Elle as she spoke, not wanting to raise suspicion. "If they are caught, may there be Mercy on their soul." Belle replied smoothly and forced herself to appear empathetic towards the rebels. Her curiosity was gnawing at her - was this woman human as well? Her thoughts ended though as the fairy began to speak. Belle's curiosity began to simmer into amusement.

She started to chuckle as he spoke and downed the rest of her glass. She folded her hands neatly on the table as he continue his tirade while watching him. How his snark and humor reminded her of her younger self. She would have to tap into that side. Like a snake, she was trying to shed that skin, but it would prove useful. The urge to not ask if he had another peach was beginning to eat away at her. She was dying to eat something soon. Elleta stood up and patted her shoulder to order food so Belle wouldn't have to stumble over it and possibly reveal herself.

While she understood, Bella hadn't wanted to give out their names until she felt they could establish a connection or become allies. Belle chuckled when he asked if anyone had died. She knew Morgayne and Regulus had put their necks on the line but were able to take care of themselves. Her concern was palpable; yet she knew she had to avoid them for the time being. Baraian, Kuroi and Ilan had also escaped though she didn't know where they had gone. Finally, when Bowyn finished spouting off and introducing his bird, Bella set the glass down and turned to face him. She nodded kindly to the bird - Boreas, after Bowyn introduced himself. She was quite curious to learn more regarding him, but she would have to hold back for now. How she envied that bird - its life must have been so simple.

He chewed obnoxiously, much like a child; with hopes they'd be disgusted and leave. Belle appeared unfazed and rather bored with the conversation. She was used to rude and obnoxious people, but she despised them. She had to set her hands in her lap in order to dig her nails into them as not to snatch the peach out of his hand and toss it away. What a waste of a perfect peach. As she studied him, she could see a noticeable difference between forest fairies and winter ones. She wasn't quite sure if he was, though his attitude fit a winter fairy. Either way, she'd play on that. She then let out a deep sigh and addressed him further. She didn't see a peach on the menu and wondered if he had bought or stolen it.

"Well Bowyn, or should I say Frosty?" She guessed he wouldn't understand the reference, but maybe she would be surprised. "And no, nobody has died yet as far as I know, though the day is still young. Maybe we should head to the graveyard and begin digging their graves and beat them to it?" Belle took a deep breath and remained calm - almost too calm. Her poker face had been one of her best asset while being in the gang and appearing innocent in school.

"I appreciate you saving me the time and energy of asking your name. Although, it is not as if you bothered to ask either; so much for mannerism for us both, huh? It's interesting, because you could have instead asked why we sat down here. It would have been nice for us to get off to a better start." Belle paused long enough to refill her glass and drink another round of mead, then continued.

"And, by the way, you remind me of a child with your antics. I sure do hope you have some maturity in you, Bowyn. This looming war with humans arriving is going to affect us all in some way or another. Your behavior doesn't faze me enough to leave; I am quite entertained by it, to be honest."

Belle paused for a moment and glanced at Torvi kindly, then back to Bowyn. She didn't want to bite too hard but she wasn't going to back down as well. She did not want to appear as if she couldn't handle herself. Belle then sweetened her expression and tone, though it remained low.

"Do you think you can tone it down yet, so we can have a more civil conversation? It would be much simpler than bickering, I don't quite care for it. Simply put, I am here to make friends." Belle then glanced over upon finishing to find Elleta bringing a plate of food. Belle stared at it, baffled, then began to nibble on a few of the native berries. She wrinkled her nose at first, then began to asses which ones were sour. Once she discovered it, she began to chew on those. While she began picking at the food, she began to embrace her old nickname and self. As hard as it was to bite her tongue and not snap back, she rather enjoyed the old comfort of her previous life and persona.

"By the way, you can call me Little Blue."
Luna

Time: After Sunset / Dusk
Location: Woods outside of Vie-Et-Mort
Interaction: @Tae - Sorrel @Alivefalling - Cyrus @Helo - Liam @Kkushmar - Boris
Faint cries and voices were distantly heard in Luna’s subconscious. As she began to register the voices and commotion, her eyes began to open. Her body was healing from the wounds, though not enough to give her full range of motion again. Her ankles and wrists had ceased gushing blood and was a faint trickle now. Luna took a deep breath and felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, causing her to whimper. She couldn't fully breathe regularly yet; her throat remained swollen. She noticed she had sharp, quick breaths as well which made it difficult to see straight. She was able to register the three werewolves surrounding her and communicating with one another on how to fight off the vampires. She managed a faint smile.

Two of them were alphas - Sorrell and Liam. The beta was Sorrel’s, whose name was Cyrus. She shook her head to try clearing her vision and stared at the other wolves. Luna wished she could do more than just lay around but she was too weak and beaten up to do anything else. When this was over, she was going to owe them so much. It was draining her to even speak, but she had to warn them. Luna growled to herself and addressed the other wolves.

“Thank you for coming to my rescue.” She paused then rested her head back down. She needed to warn them that these weren’t ordinary vampires. Desiree trained them 24/7 in the most brutal fashion to be prepared for anything. She had seen gruesome and grotesque things in her time over the years. The last thing she wanted was for them to be injured or captured by them. She didn't want anyone to suffer the same way she had. No-one ever deserved to be trapped in this hellhole the same way she had been. Her mind was still reeling from the last four hours. Tears were forming in her eyes but they couldn't fall in her wolf form. "These are the Vie-Et-Mort vampires, by the way, these aren’t ordinary vampires.” Luna told them while she curled into a ball. "Be careful. I'll stay here as a distraction for them."

She breathed in and out sharply and let out a whimper of pain. Faint yells were heard and Luna glanced over to see the vampires ascending upon her. She rested her head back down and tucked her tail by her face. She wished she could help fight, but instead settled for remaining as bait. She did her best not to glance up at Cyrus in the tree.

Artemis

Time: Early Morning > Noon
Location: Devil's Bay > Malthemoor
Interaction: @FunnyGuy Darius, @13org Myra

The sounds of a carriage crossed though the woods; the rhythmic thumping of it continually brought unease to the young woman. Her starry blue hair was barely visible beneath the heated parka she wore. With her hair out of the way, it allowed for a muzzle to attach to her ears. Low growls were emanating from her throat, but none of the Dark Elves noticed or cared to show that they heard her. She wore thick gloves with chains connecting them together. Her lower body was immersed in water from a bucket, though the tip of her tail was handcuffed to the carriage. She was straining to sit up right, though she was used to these uncomfortable situations. Her situation beat being on the ship and being hung upside down by her tail. God, it had brought immense pain to her head. She hoped she never experienced it again. Being tied up for hours on end caused her enough head rush to give her a headache for another year.

Artemis sighed and rested her eyes. The trip to Malthemoor would take almost half the day. She knew she had to escape, but where? She refused to be bought by this rich Dark Elf and his accomplices. She refused to retrieve objects and force innocent people into the water depths, only to drown them. Despite this, she didn't mind slaughtering everyone on the carriage with her right now. Her voice was both a blessing and a curse. While she enjoyed singing, she had become accustomed to luring people with it and drowning them. Too many times had she watched the horror fill people's voices and then realization they would die? The light in their eyes would go out along with the panic and fear. Artemis couldn't help but enjoy some of it though; elves and fairies had tormented her for too long. These Dark Elves and Orcs were going to be on the top of her list when she escaped this nightmare.

Artemis leaned back and began to focus on what she would die if she escaped. She wanted to go to Roshmi City and shop and eat like she had in the past. Though this time, it wouldn't be the same. No, the city would only break her heartbreak. She hated to think of running into the past fairies, elves and demi humans she had known. She forced herself not to think of them. It only brought her suffocating pain and grief. She would never live it down. Arty wondered if she did escape and found them, would they accept her. Most likely, but if they only knew... She squeezed her eyes shut and forced the tears not to fall. A few had escaped though, and the Dark Elf across from her began to laugh tauntingly.

"Aw lads, she's crying! Look at her! Stupid bitch – we've told you time and time again to quit crying. You're nothing but a giant fucking baby. You're going to need to toughen up for your new master. I heard he doesn't enjoy crying and whining. The last mermaid he had died! Wait till we tell him what a baby you can be. He'll make you really wish you hadn't been born. But you're so beautiful and have a unique skill that he may not kill you immediately. He may let you live long enough to serve your purpose." Artemis cracked her eyes open to glare at him and forced herself to remain silent. Boy, she was going to drown this elf one day. The other Elves began hooting and hollering to which she tuned out.

With a deep sigh and another low growl, Artemis began to glance outside. A chill was beginning to fill the carriage. One of the Dark Elves noticed her beginning to shiver so he threw a blanket on her. It wasn't out of the goodness of his heart, rather the need to keep her alive and warm. Artemis sighed as she stared at the blanket. Despite it being itchy, it had brought her enough warmth to stop her from shivering. Finally, after what seemed like hours, they were beginning to reach the mountain. Artemis glanced out the window to see the tower on the mountain. Dread began to fill her. The Dark Elves' words replayed in her mind's eye. She knew she had to escape. There were a few lakes nearby she could escape into...

The forest, though, would be too much of a trek for her. She couldn't remember the last time she had ate either. Artemis knew she would have to be quick and efficient in order to escape before they made it too far up the mountain. She bit her lip and watched as one of the Dark Elves began to loosen the chains around her tail. They were so tight they left indentation marks in her tail. They only added to the collection up and down her tail. She had grown accustomed to the bruises and scars all over her body and in particular to her tail. As long as it worked, none of the Elves had minded adding to the collection. At this point, Artemis didn't care if she died. It would be a more suitable fate than remaining a slave and prisoner.

Artemis glanced at the Dark Elf while the Orc guarded them. She began to focus on using compulsion for him to loosen them just enough so she could whack him with her tail. The Dark Elf stared into her eyes and for a moment, lost concentration. She managed a weak smile and began forcing him to feel pity and sympathy for her. The Dark Elf stared with bewilderment which transformed into passiveness. Slowly, he began to loosen the chains just enough for her to begin moving her tail out of the water. While she did so, she kept an eye on the compelled Dark Elf and another on the guards. Artemis watched the mountain loom closer in view; the top of it beginning to taunt her and count down her remaining time. As soon as her tail was out of the bucket and onto the carriage floor, she gathered her strength and smacked the Dark Elves nearby her with her tail. The Dark Elves cried out and fell to their sides with shock and panic.

"What the fuck?!" One of them yelled but she ignored him. She bent down and using her cuffed hands, began to shimmy the cuffs off of her tail. As soon as she was out of the water, her mermaid tail began shifting to regular legs. Once the chains were off her tail, she elbowed the compelled Elf in the nose then his throat. He yelped in fear and pain while cursing her out. Artemis watched as the Orc came at her and swung her legs over to trip him. She then summoned the reserves of her strength to kick him into the carriage door. He yelped, but lurched forward to smack her into the carriage door. Artemis snarled at him as she smacked her head. She brought both her hands down onto his skull and cracked it with the weight of the handcuffs. The Orc yelled in pain and crumpled to the ground. Artemis made sure to fling the blanket off him over him. She also kicked the bucket onto the orc as well.

Next, Artemis head-butted the Dark Elf coming at her and kicked open the door. With the muzzle on, it caused him a great deal of pain. The Elf fell out instead of coming at her and crashed to the ground. The horse was running with fear from the commotion which caused the carriage to tilt to and from. It was displacing everyone inside of it. Artemis jumped from her seat and raced out of the carriage. She had made sure to run over the Elf just as he was getting up. She cackled with glee as she injured him further. Artemis didn't look back; the yells were faint to her now. She was out of the carriage! Artemis sprinted clumsily into the forest and didn't care what came at her. She was pumped up with adrenaline and desperation. No longer would she serve anyone but herself. No longer would she unwillingly kill for entertainment. No, she was done serving Aklenroth and his armies. She felt a flush of fury race through her at the mere thought of it. It only powered her to run faster.

Artemis didn't know where she was going but she didn't care. Anything was better than being in the carriage or worse, on the mountain. She heard noises from the sky and glanced up to see an Amora overhead. Artemis stared at it longingly, and then continued running. She hoped someone worthwhile was on it that could assist her, but she doubted it. Artemis continued running until she couldn't anymore. She collapsed onto the forest floor and curled up. Artemis glanced up and realized there was a river nearby. It was too far though; with the handcuffs on and her malnourished state, she would never reach it.

With a dismal groan of pain and agony, she began to hum quietly in order to comfort herself. Tears were streaming down her face. This would be the end. Artemis didn't mind; at least she'd be free from the agony and torture. Waves of peace began to fill her. She would be able to see her family and friends on the other side once more. Artemis managed a tiny smile and continued to soothe herself quietly.

Kenia's and Malachi's words had brought a genuine smile to Corvina's face. She felt a mix of joy and dread. Those words often uttered by people normally dragged in trouble. Cora nodded quickly, unwilling to speak so she didn't worsen their moods. She knew in her heart that she, too, would do whatever it took to protect them. Cora glanced at her hands, recalling the fire she had created on their first night. That had been out of adrenaline and fear. Would she be able to create anything bigger than that? Her fireballs were effective and she was able to create a small campfire. She wondered how much else she was capable of with her fire.

After Kenia beckoned Rei and her upstairs, Cora began making a mental list of her belongings. There was her mace, pocket knives and her supreme sweatshirt. It had been salvaged, thankfully, and much to her relief. It wasn't much, but it reminded her of her home and early life. She began to gather them and stuff them into a bag. She began to grab whatever she had in her room and stuff it away. The less that anyone could find of them, the better. She wondered what Kenia's answer to Rei would be and began to listen carefully for it. Her heart began racing as dread filled her. How much longer did they have until something else happened? How much danger would Nym be in? She felt guilt rise inside of her, but knew it wasn't her fault. That damn fox had caused it - and if she saw him again...

It took her a moment to notice the fire in her hands. Her reflection, as she turned to glance at the dresser, showed the flames. Cora sighed and looked at her hands. While climbing the steps, Cora had heard the stairs creaking and knew Rei was undoubtedly nervous as well. His discomfort at affection had been evident as well. Cora couldn't help but wonder - what had her group gone through in order to be this distant to people? She wasn't about to press them right now. Cora finished packing her personal belongings and looked at Kenia for an answer.

The woods flew passed the blonde as she sprinted through it. Her cold feet were crunching leaves and twigs beneath her but she didn't care. Her hair blew in the wind around her and often into her face much to her annoyance. Her hospital gown billowed around her and only caused her to shiver as she ran. Her eyes were wide-eyed as she scanned the surroundings for any fast moving shapes. While she didn't see any, it didn't mean that they weren't behind her. Sobs escaped her as her throat began to close up. The damn medicine had caused her an allergic reaction and it was a struggle for her to breathe. She wondered if she would choke to death while running. How awful would that be - to escape the Death Chute, only to die from her throat swelling up. God, what was life anymore? It had to be a surreal dream but when she looked around, the reality brought her back. Distant yells were heard, causing her heart to race at the sudden noise. "LUNA!!"

All she could do was focus on the forest in front of her as she sprinted madly through them. She had to escape. She wanted to live, not perish - especially that way! Death by vampires, slowly watching as the blood drained from her. She glanced at her chewed up wrists with terror. She was certain she left trails of blood but what did it matter? They could smell her a mile away and probably see her too. Oh no. Would Desiree send some of the stage D vampires after her? Oh God. She couldn't fight those off. Absentmindedly, she touched her throat and brought her hands away to find blood gushing from them. It only fueled her terror and anxiety even more. Another sob escaped her. Was that the end? Would she bleed out in these woods? She hoped not. She stared forward as her eyes burned with tears and stars danced in front of her vision. She was starting to gasp for air.

The cold night air whipped her hair into her face and caused her to stumble. She cried out as she lost her footing and rolled down a hill. Her hands grasped the rocks and branches, but they only broke off and smacked her in the face. She yelped in fear and was deposited at the bottom of it and onto her back. Winded and disoriented, Luna stared up at the night sky. The stars blinked down at her, as if mocking her for her situation. Tears streamed down her face as she curled up into a ball and assessed the situation. Her legs were bleeding, adding to her throat, wrists and ankles. She heard another distant yell of her name and shot to her feet. She stumbled and saw double as she thrust herself forward into a half-haphazard run. The sound of splashing caused her to inhale and looked down to find herself standing in a river. She sunk into it to try to cleanse the blood off of her. She needed to help quell the stench of it and her own scent. This only proved to be agonizing; her open wounds nearly made her scream out loud. She bit her tongue hard enough to slice it in half and let out another sob into her soaked hands.

Luna glanced over her shoulder as she gathered herself to continue running. She couldn't stand around anymore, washing herself off. She didn't know where she was going or where she would end up. Anywhere was better than here or back in the hellish nightmare. She gasped for air and clutched her throat. She could only beg her body not to succumb to the medication and the vampire venom. At the same time, she could hear distant but closer yells of her name. Luna scowled as terror began to settle in. For a moment, the werewolf was unsure if she would truly survive. She gritted her teeth and refused to give in. She closed her eyes and used the reserves of her energy to transform into her werewolf form. The pain erupted for a moment then settled down. She took several deep breathes and began to sprint as fast as she could. She had wanted to save her energy, but they were gaining on her.

Luna sped towards what seemed to smell like food. Maybe Ember Groves was closer! She felt giddy for a moment as exhaustion began to settle in. Her throat was starting to swell by now, and her legs were trembling from the bleeding. Luna paused running and looked over her shoulder with deep violet eyes. The vampires were a couple miles away. She trotted forward until her body forcefully gave out nearby a bush. She looked around it and scooted more into it for shelter. Then, knowing she couldn't save herself, let out a loud, echoing pleading howl. There had to be werewolves nearby... There had to be. Luna felt her heart pounding beginning to slow down as her breathing became quick and shallow. Her vision blurred as she curled up into a ball and tucked her tail around her face. Slowly but surely, the scenery faded and everything went black.

Corvina had been eavesdropping to the commotion with the door cracked. Too much time had gone by for her to just sit down. She listened to the ruckus with a deep sigh. There was a definite tension in the air. She bit her lip and had started fiddling with a flame on her palm. She had been focused on creating and destroying it to try taking her mind off of the chaos. She jumped when their names were called and extinguished the fire in her palm. She couldn't help but fell pride rise inside of her. Fire was versatile element to have obtained. She was excited to train with it, too. The more she could do to help protect their group then the better. Cora was becoming determined to protect them. She wasn't sure if she was mad with herself for starting to become attached, too.

After a brief pause, Corvina ran to the kitchen. She watched Malachi give Rei a new shirt and smiled faintly, then turned to the others. She bit her lip as she watched the older elf clean the kitchen and went to offer to help when Rei beat her to the punch once more. She rubbed her head and looked at Malachi and Kenia, both of who looked stressed. Cora took a deep breathe to steady herself and looked at them. "What happened?" She glanced between them and then smiled faintly. "If now is not a good time to explain then that's okay. I appreciate all you both for keeping us safe and doing everything possible to ensure that Rei and I are okay. Also, Mr. Biralei, I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality." Cora paused, then looked at Kenia and Malachi.

Without a word, she came over to hug both Elves together, then let go and smiled up at them. "Thanks for keeping us safe." Cora then stepped back and sat down at the table, unsure what to do next. She doubted they were going to train now. She bit her lip as she recalled Malachi speaking. Absentmindedly, and to quell her anxiety, she began to nibble on an untouched piece of toast.
