Rosaria smiled to herself. Nuallán was incredibly sweet with his worry for her, but she knew her boundaries and would be fine. However, the continuous actions of the human would not be tolerated again. To truly lay it down, one’s sweet nature had to dissipate into ice. She gave him a warm smile and quickly assured him all would be fine. Afterwards, Nuallán introduced himself and offered his additional instruction, which she appreciated. Next, the geokinetic human began to speak to her delight.

Caelan introduced himself to the group and explained he was 26. So young! She was elated to hear he had some practice with a sword. He was already ahead of the game and could perhaps aid the other two. From the manner of the rambunctious one, she could assume he too came from a background of combat. With the way he had wielded a knife and expected enemies to be surrounding him, she had confidence that his bad behavior could translate quite well.

However, Sohpie was a tiny one. Rosaria was afraid she might be the least suited for this. The girl‘s mind seemed to be scattered as she took in things around her. It seemed as if she had missed the introductions; or had cowered from it. Rosaria sighed but let it go for now. It was best she let the young girl relax and take things in. After all, this was overwhelming.

Once they approached the stall, Nuallán again asked her not to worry and she looked at him.
”I know, Nuallán. I trust you to do so. You and I are a great team together. I am so lucky to have you to care for me. I can only relent so much with these gems in my care.”

Rosaria observed as Sophie and Caelan both approached the table. Sophie seemed to enjoy one of the dresses but didn’t ask to buy it. Instead, the kind girl took the time to check up on the dark-skinned boy. Rose appreciated that she wasn’t the only one giving him a chance. She smirked to herself as she heard Caelan asking Nuallán to buy her the dress. Did Caelan have a little crush? She couldn’t help but giggle a little out loud as she turned to face the two men. ”We will certainly buy it for her.”

She glanced toward the table and scanned it quickly, allowing herself to briefly lose focus on the others. As she finished buying what she wanted, a female voice reached her ears. She glanced over to see Aurora, their spiritual advisor, bounding up to them. Another strong elf to help protect them and the humans was not going to hurt. A delighted smile crossed her face as her expression melted like a kid on Tirrus. ”Of course Aurora. I thank you for accompanying me.” She smiled and made sure no one else had overheard her and sighed in relief. When the dress was bought, she handed it to Caelan and winked. ”Here you go, handsome.”

Rosaria turned to Nuallán and tilted her head to one side. ”Do you fancy anything?” She then glanced at the other humans. ”If you’re all ready, we can continue now. Aurora, if you like anything, please let me know.” Then, Rosaria relaxed, although she kept a vigilant eye out for any oncoming danger.

Tigerlily stared with raised eyebrows at Éliane. What happened now? She turned to glance at the red haired lady and remained stoic. What was she? Her appearance betrayed much but not enough; there weren’t animalistic traits, no elf ears, and she definitely didn’t have wings. She blinked and turned back to the elf. For now she wouldn’t waste her energy on it, but would keep an eye on the gal. She smiled as she listened and wrapped an arm around her shoulders comfortingly. Her innocence and naivety was refreshing; yet, it allowed people, such as this ginger, to prey upon her. She allowed her friend to continue speaking without interruption. Once finished, she began to reply,

”Éliane, it’s great to see you! I’ll save stories for later. But first tell me, what are you doing on this godforsaken island? You are far too good for this shallow den, love.” She patted her head and turned to the next speaker. She grimaced at the sun but didn’t let her expression fall otherwise. She didn’t have time to ponder; Éliane was now introducing her to the female ginger. Tigerlily smiled sweetly and gave her a kind nod.

Lizzie Murphy. Pushing it to the back of her head, she turned to Nym. His words caused laughter to bubble out of her. The war. She rolled her eyes at the comment. ”The war? Don’t get me started, Nym.” She grinned and then nodded in agreement at the end of his sentence. A cheeky grin split across her face as she added, ”The dark elves can kiss my tail.”

Her mind was racing as she noticed Helio. He had to stare at her as if he had seen a ghost. She wondered what had been going through his mind. Tigerlily watched breathlessly for a moment while her mind slipped away. No, stay present… She gritted her teeth and retained her normal attitude. She laughed loudly and smiled at him. ”What a fine gentleman. I’ll keep that in mind, Mr. Magnificent Helio.” She then curtsied to him and turned her attention to the rest of the group.

As the other woman introduced herself, Tigerlily smirked. She recognized the woman’s tongue and was appreciative of her craft. However, food and rum was not something she could turn down. She sighed; did this woman not have any amas? Was she….? “I suppose I can join you. Also, did you get all your belongings robbed?” She scrutinized her expression and smiled kindly at her. ”What a pity if so.” Her voice was calm and sympathetic.

The man that had been introduced as Barboda began speaking.. Her gaze shifted to him and eyed his helmet. What was the tin man hiding? Was he a Dark Elf? She narrowed her gaze but didn’t let the smile drop. Another individual to keep an eye on. Her head began to ache for everything. However, he possessed a ship - a beautiful one - and she couldn't pass it up. If only her parents knew what she was doing…. She snickered and paused to assess the group, specifically Helio.

Helio had obnoxiously commented on Barboda, causing her to snicker. She knew she wasn’t the only one suspicious. His attitude and jokes were familiar. She had to stop herself from thinking too forward though. An aching in her chest caused her to go silent until she was able to draw several deep breaths again. All the flair and attitude was a masquerade and she saw right through it. He was quick to make his purchase and saw out of the corner of her eye as he turned around with an accordion. He hadn’t changed after all.

Tigerlily approached the Odds and Ends and began to take a look for herself. She picked out an outfitfor herself. She smiled in delight at the outfit. It would be far easier to switch to her mermaid form. With a grin, she reached out and took the parrot, which swiftly climbed onto her shoulder. Tigerlily grinned at it and tilted her head.

”What shall I name you?” She inquired, and the parrot chirped and nipped at her ear. ”A wise choice. I’ll think about it.”

She snickered and turned back to face the rest of the crew, specifically Lizzie. ”Lass, I bought you an outfit. You must blend in.” She winked at her as she handed the clothes, her voice low enough for only them to hear. Next, Tigerlily bought more stuff for the boat and knew extras wouldn’t hurt.

She then moved next to Helio, and her voice was friendly and sweet. ”Magnificent Helio, allow me to teach you how to play that.” She gently put her hand over his and smiled. ”What say you, once we get settled on this fine vessel?” She winked and moved ahead to board the ship.

Rosaria had glanced at Nuallán once he had spoken to her; then her gaze shifted towards the humans. The quiet girl revealed herself to be Sophie, and she was chatting with Caelan. The aura the give provided was peaceful. She knew he was right and she’d be much easier company than the other two boys. It would be a difficult mix, but at least Caelan seemed to be playing nice. Her gaze returned to Nuallán as he cautioned her about the dark-haired boy.

”Nuallán, with due respect my dear, I think he needs my kindness more than any of them. Give him a chance. We must keep in mind that humans live much shorter lives than us and he is considered young. With some much needed care and understanding, I see the potential of a passionate and good man. I can handle him; no need to worry.” She patted his arm gently and gave him a firm nod and confident smile.

Annya had run over and thrown her arms around her in a hug, surprising her. Rosaria hugged her back, ”Be safe.” She whispered to her before they had gone their separate ways. Soon, she was outside the castle with Nuallán, Sophie, Caelan, and Jomari.

Rosaria put an arm out to Sophie and Caelan to halt them. Next, she turned on her heels to swiftly address Jomari with a friendly, yet serious expression. ”The enemy is in a far land, and we are not ready yet to face them. I will train, guide, and protect you all until that time has come and we are confident in your abilities. It is going to take some time for that to come to fruit. Please be patient and focus right now on calming your anger. We need to get off to a good start and I’d appreciate your cooperation. Why don’t we start off by telling us about ourselves?”

She paused as she let the question hang and then continued as if nothing had missed a beat. ”I’m Princess Rosaria, and I’m 1,022 years old. I am the next heir to the Sun Elf Kingdom. I have light magic and I am quite proficient with it as well.“ She added next, ”Humans here have magic unlike our kind. Fairies have the ability to either have cryokinesis or chlorokinesis. Some can talk to animals, which is called zoolinguilism. I’ve met fairies who have befriended the many creatures we have here. That’s one example. So, as I was saying, humans have elemental magic. There’s been pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, lightning, aerokinesis, and geokinesis. Our Knight here, Caelan,” She gave him a soft smile as she played a joke on his name, ”Is a geokinetic. I’m curious to see what you two have.” She nodded to Jomari and Sophie. ”But we don’t need to worry about it yet until we’re at our next safe point. For now, please stay close to me.”

As she talked, she resumed moving and waved her hand to urge them to as well. Escorting the group into town, she led them through the beautiful and whimsical elf architecture. The street was a bit sparse when it came to civilians. Rosaria knew many of them were mourning the death of the general and being cautious of being outside. It was also Sollar Day, so it was possible many were swimming. She led them over to a stall that had a sign that read “Odds and Ends.”

”Take a look and see if you need anything. I might not be able to buy you things that are too expensive, but feel free to indulge on something small. If you have questions, let me know. I’m happy to help and be here for you.” She fell silent as to allow them to take it in and scanned the crowd. Her hand never left near her bow as she walked and she wasn’t going to let it drop anytime soon. Rosaria’s gaze was intense, like a prey animal watching for its predators, but kept a relaxed demeanor for the humans.

Saoirse had stood back and observed the chaos before her once she, too, had changed her clothing. It was quite amusing to watch the guy stab a chicken and then get chewed out by Princess Annya. During his rant, she hadn’t noticed she had taken another step next to Raven and put a hand on her pocket, where a pocket knife was concealed. However, she made no move to involve herself. She met Raven’s gaze and gave her a slight smile, but she was uneasy. She was out of her element and clearly around unstable people. The black-haired man soon handed her a bag and ring. She held it up and examined it for a moment, hesitant. Self preservation Saoirse, will get you farther than anything else… With a sigh, she put it on. Her elf ears immediately looked realistic. She stared at her reflection against the reflective floors and blinked thrice with wide-eyes. This was...

It turned out that she and Raven would be with the dark-haired fellow and the big dragon. Great, as if this world wasn’t already weird enough, I have a talking-walking dragonborn-thing. This is some advanced fantasy shit. She thought dryly and had followed Annya into the hall. Once they were outside, Saoirse looked around at her surroundings. It looked like something out of a movie. She glanced Raven’s way as she quoted some nerd shit as she always did and laughed. To cover it up, she rolled her eyes and remained silent afterwards. Saoirse knew, however, in the back of her mind, this was real. If this was her escape from jail, she would gladly take it; but her crew… She gritted her teeth and let out a long sigh. There wasn't anything she could do; and besides, would they freak out like the man had? She groaned despite her circumstances and became stoic.

Me, Saoirse, a hero, huh… She suppressed the urge to snicker again.

Tigerlily listened to the ocean in the background and let out a sigh. The sea salt air in her nostrils and the cool breeze it provided was pure bliss. Being on land and swimming when she wanted too and there was nothing better. She adjusted her hat, which she kept admiring, and began to head towards The Seagull. Her stomach rumbled and she found herself becoming irrationally irritated with the sun and the seagulls crying out hysterically. Those damn birds did nothing but beg and cry for food. Unexpectedly, a voice brought her out of her reverie.

”Well isn’t that a beautiful lass?” Tigerlily jumped and looked up to find a tall, dark haired elf staring down at her with a nasty grin. He wore whatever god awful outfit he’d either bought on his own with poor life choices, or was too drunk to care. He smelled like a rotten fish washed up on the beach and left to sunbathe over the weekend. It took all her self control not to cringe or wrinkle her nose. However, he did have potential; with bright blue eyes and what should’ve been a handsome smile, but was distorted by missing teeth.

Unamused, Tigerlily considered being snappy; but then realized by his breath he was inebriated. A grin formed on her face instead as she faced him. ”And a handsome gentleman, is it not?” She smiled as she took a step back, which he frowned at briefly and moved closer. Perfect. ”A big strong man like you shouldn’t be out here alone now should he?” She traced her fingers up his arms and grinned. He went red and he opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. His mouth hanging open reminded her of the fish she’d catch with those silly fishing poles the other races used. Sadly, this man was dumber than the orcs she’d encountered.

”You should definitely stay with a beautiful lass like me…” As she leaned closer, she examined the back of him. There was a hilt with some poor excuse of a sword and a small bag hanging from his belt pocket. Was it amas, or something else? Either way, it’d be her or someone else’s. She grinned as he stumbled and she caught him, letting her hands fall to his sides. ”Careful, dear. It’s only 9am. Maybe the sun’s too bright for you - follow me.” Without waiting to see if he’d come, she began making her way towards the alleyway. There would be less people to see. Like a puppy, the elf followed her, mumbling something incoherent. She ignored it and pretended not to notice. Tigerlily hurried ahead and pulled him along with a giggle. She pulled her hat off to hide their faces as he approached her. She grinned, then moved closer and began kissing him. He smelled like rotten eggs and rum mixed together and it was enough to make her gag. Luckily, she’d had enough experiences with these encounters and knew how to play along while silently suffering.

Tigerlily opened her eyes and found him enthralled with the situation. Now was her time. She moved away and caused him to move closer. She smiled as she set a hand on her dagger and pulled him closer. His body against hers was close enough. Tigerlily slowly reached for the bag of amas around his belt and unlatched it. Quickly, she stuffed it in her boot. He was too focused and interested to notice. She giggled and pulled away at the last second. She took her hat and set it over her head. He frowned as his eyes opened.

”What’s the matter?” He slurred as he stumbled forward and lost his balance. Tigerlily steadied him quickly and set him against the wall. He quickly slid down against it, bewildered.

”Your sea lass has much to do, my fine gentleman. You will forget this ever happened.” She smiled as her eyes narrowed and she compelled him into forgetting her. His expression became blank as he stared forward, lost and even more bewildered now. ”By the way, you’re a little awful at kissing and flirting. Try again some day.”

With a grin, Tigerlily moved away and down the next alleyway when a foul smell reached her nose. She allowed herself to gag and spit now, overwhelmed. She groaned and knew she now needed a bottle of rum to wash out the awful taste. Elves truly were one of the most loathsome creatures this world had to offer; or at least, most of them. She groaned as she began to compose herself again and glanced around.

That awful stench; where was it coming from? She began to follow it and drew her sword carefully. It reeked of death; an unfortunate scent she was familiar with. With a sigh, she peeked around the corner and found two dead elves. She noticed a sword on one of them and grinned. Today was her lucky day now wasn’t it? She made sure nobody else was approaching and crept forward carefully. She kicked them both with her shoe but neither of them moved. Shrugging, she knelt down and began to pickpocket whatever she could find. She slowly took off the holster and the sword and wrapped it over her shoulder. One could never have enough swords on this dangerous island. She noticed their attire but stood up.

Next, she moved out of the alleyway and into the shadows as she rounded the corner to continue her adventure to The Seagull. She was halfway there with a smirk on her face when she noticed a group of Avalians ahead of her. She paused and began to observe. There was a man in armor with his face covered; something she wasn’t too fond of, but needed to investigate. Next, there was a tall, familiar elven woman whom she noticed was Éliane. Beside her was an unfamiliar red woman; then a shark-demihuman she knew to be Nym and then…

”Helio.” She whispered, barely audibly and sucked in a deep breath. Her heart skipped a beat. Lost in thought, Tigerlily stood there a moment longer and then sighed heavily. It was now or never. Palms sweaty and her heart racing, she took a moment to compose herself.

With a glance over her shoulder, Tigerlily held her head up and allowed her amused smirk to cross back over her face. With the sword over her shoulder and the amas in her back pocket, she reminded herself of her luck this morning. Maybe… Maybe this was it continuing…

A chance to do the right thing this time…

A grin formed over her face as she approached the group. ”Well isn’t this a lovely group, Nym?” She came over and wrapped her arms around his shoulder and Éliane. ”My dear Éliane - what have we got here?” She studied each of their faces with interest, and then allowed her gaze to settle on Helio. ”A fairy on this island? And a handsome one too.” She teased as she let go of the two and folded her arms with a smirk. She tugged her blue braid onto her shoulder as strands of it blew in the wind and briefly irritated her.

”Tell me, Nym, what are we up to now?” She then turned to face him, while keeping a side eye on the others. She was smirking on the outside, but her mind and heart were racing on the inside. ”Please tell me there’s rum and food on the menu soon as well?” She gave him a knowing, yet pleading, smirk.

Rosaria was grateful for Ismael’s response and offered him a sweet smile. After that, she watched the exchange between her sister and Caelan Knight, sighing. She would have advised Annya to pick her battles if there had been time to while understanding where both parties were coming from. Her attention zoned in on the cracking floor beneath Caelan’s feet. So it’s true. A smile curved over her lips and then disappeared as she became stoic while her words were like honey.

"I am sorry she upset you, but please be mindful of others and try keep your tempers in check. Your power briefly emerged, Caelan. You have magic called geokinesis, as my sister stated. This means that you can control soil, dirt, rock, and more. However it will take time to master and your emotions will fuel its use, so mind them." She laid rings out on the table for each human and also the Avalians.

While she spoke, Annya had begun to hand out the ears and arrange things for them. Soon her sister returned to her side and asked her which humans she wanted. Rosaria was quiet and surveyed the room. Finally decided she’d take on the more difficult three as it was best. She was more patient and understanding than Annya could be at times. Though Annya had a good heart, she was an intense person. They needed the softer approach.

Nuallán arrived with the clothes and she beamed at him, “Thank you so much, Nuallán-” She broke off when she noticed his disposition and looked over. His words toward the humans were helpful, but she wasn’t so sure the dark-skinned one with the dagger was going to take them seriously despite his intimidating gaze.

As she predicted, the man had something to say about that and had even directed a rude retort toward poor Nuallán. She narrowed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. He continued to rant on, throwing jabs toward the humans and talking about how he felt as if they were going to force him onto the front lines. Rosaria understood his fear and misconceptions, but the rudeness towards the humans and Nualán was getting under her skin. She listened as Jomari addressed her directly without interrupting. Anger welled up inside, but before Rosaria could do anything, Annya went on a rampage.

Although Rosaria agreed with many of Annya’s points, she felt the most strategic approach would be to try to understand and reason, instead of reprimanding him. Once Annya had huffed and fallen back. Now it was time for damage control.

Rosaria took a step toward him, gently speaking to him, "You must have come from a hard and dangerous life. I can tell from what information you gave us thus far that it’s been hard to trust others and many have not been kind to you. You’ve probably had to do a lot to maintain your own wellbeing; I'm sure this wasn't easy for you and you're acting defensively as a way to protect yourself. You don't have to let your guard down yet, but please consider what has been said, and treat us with the respect we are treating you. Please simmer down and come along with the other humans and I, and I will do my best to keep you safe and healthy, and find you a way back home. I promise you this. However in Avalia, you don't have to worry about those 'Spanish Bastards’ as there aren’t any. Furthermore, we will not be torturing you nor killing you-"

“Princess Rosaria!” She turned as a light elf guard came to her side and whispered in her ear that dark elf forces were in Aldrakh currently and were on the move. The color drained from her face and her eyes widened. She quickly became stoic once more so as not to scare the humans, who were likely to be terrified. She tapped on Jomari’s hand insistently, then ushered Sophie and Caelan with her.

“We must go. Annya, keep in communication with me often - you have your transmission band.” Rosaria then pointed at Jomari, Sophie and Caelan with a smile. “You three. Please follow me. Come along as well, Nuallán. We must go. Guards dispose of these human items and hide them so as not to allow our enemies to find them, please. Guards, please station yourselves around the perimeter and also on the rooftops. I want extra guards on my parents as well. Humans, I laid out rings for you - put them on. They will help disguise what you look like and we need you to please put your Elf ears or demi human disguises on. This is crucial.”

Rosaria moved to pick up three bags that Annya had called for and then gave one to each of them. Next, she gave them time to change and waited patiently for them. Once they had changed, she led the three humans and Nuallán through the golden castle hallways. She remained alert and a hand near her bow in case. She also glanced at Nuallán with a smile as well as if to say, I’m so glad you’re with me.

Once they emerged from the castle, the view they saw was spectacular.

Last night's events were something Tigerlily was trying to forget. The Twin headed bitches had slayed three royals, and the Light elf general. Watching as Helio’s brother had his neck slit had crushed her inside. The family had been through so much.. And now Helio had lost his brother. Tears had welled up in her eyes as she growled under her breath, scaring off the nearby male elves trying to woo her. She crushed herself and the damned, cruel world they lived in. She knew she had to help but how? She was too busy evading her own damned fate and then… Guilt settled in and threatened to overwhelm her. Tigerlily slammed her hand against a palm tree on the beach and tore off toward her residence.

Next Day, morning

Tigerlily sat on the beach with her legs crossed and her hands out beside her. The warm sea salt air brushed across her skin. She shut her eyes, enjoying the ambiance. The water lapped at her toes and taunted her about her possible transformation. Fortunately, she wasn't deep enough to transform into her tail. She cracked one eye open as a seagull cawed high above, searching for food. She shut her eyes again and breathed in deeply. Warm sea salt air hit her nostrils. If someone would have told her nine years ago she’d be on a beach in Port Vanarosa, she would have laughed at them and called them a liar. To think of where she’d gone from, to now. She bit her lip and finally reopened her eyes.

He finally had met his demise with her sword. Glancing down, she noticed it was strapped to her belt still. If she lost this sword, she’d be devastated. It was the token she prized the most out of all her supplies. Lily sighed and began to relish the moment until the seagulls cried so hysterically, she was forced out of her reverie. These damn birds, she thought and watched as a few Light elf children began feeding them.

With an eye roll, she stood up and dusted off her outfit. She was wearing an outfit from Port Vanarosa’s shop and rather enjoyed it. It was different from her usual outfits. The hat, with its feather, was something she couldn’t help but play with and giggle. She looked so unlike herself and it was key. But her hair? That had to change, it stood out too much. Tigerlily was aware of her parents searching desperately for her. She bit her lip and felt her hands tremble and balled them into fists to make them stop. I’ll be damned if I go back…. Tigerlily scanned the beach, then stood up. Her hair flew into her face and she inhaled sharply, momentarily surprised. She had recently dyed it blue. It was so different from her usual dark brown… She sighed and shook her head as she pulled it into a braid.

Then, feeling her stomach growl, Tigerlily began making her way toward Yolichi's Restaurant hoping for some fish on the menu. She could kill for some genuine seafood. The idea caused her to smile, something rare for the siren.

Rosaria felt relieved when one of the humans shook her hand and introduced himself. She smiled at him, grateful for his reaction. ”It’s quite nice to meet you, Ismael. Thank you for your cooperation. I’m so sorry you were probably disturbed in your private quarters. ” She told him kindly, her voice like honey.

Her eyes searched the room until she found Nuallán. Her expression softened, ”My dear Nuallán, would you mind fetching this young man a set of clothes? Actually, I believe Annya prepared ahead of time and set aside some clothing on a rack for them. It should be right outside this room in the hall. Could you wheel it in here?” She glanced towards the girl who had head in her book for the last few minutes, ”That girl also needs a pair of shoes. Small ones.” She glanced toward a nearby servant and she gently ushered them over with her finger. ”My dear, what is your name? Have you heard any of us talking?” She glanced at her book and took a few steps over to her. ”My my, your… art looks lovely. You do this yourself, right? It looks great, my dear. Do you mind joining the rest of us?” Then, she glanced over her shoulder at the other servants. ”Bring out the refreshment cart for them please.”

Annya took the time to elaborate further on what was going on, but everyone seemed terribly confused still. One human took it worse than the others and started shouting. She glanced at him in alarm as the elven guards all became alert as well. ”I apologize for the confusion, but we are not what you call ‘Spanish bastards.’ This is an entire different realm than yours. Also you are safe here; I won’t hurt you. ” With a sigh, she gently conjured a small ball of light in her palm, keeping her body language relaxed. ”I understand magic is a foreign concept to you in your land, but look here as I prove to you its existence. Take a moment to calm down.”

An elf wheeled a cart out, but seemed to be afraid of getting too close because of the shouting man with the dagger. She turned to the humans.

”Please everyone take a moment to relax, take things in, and have some food. When you are ready, three of you will come with me and three of you will go with my sister, Princess Annya here. My butler will also be accompanying me and the dragonborn, Kharne, will be accompanying Annya.” Despite Annya’s confidence, she had hired a mercenary to make sure Annya had protection and aid as well. They were high value targets.

During the silence, one of the humans spoke up, asking, ”How do we use these so-called powers? Cause I want to be called a hero, also the name is Caelan Knight, is that heroic enough?”

Rosaria glanced at his direction and stated, ”I will teach you as soon as I can. Just try to relax and enjoy some food for now.” A smile pulled at her lips and she added, ”That is undoubtedly an extraordinarily heroic name. On that subject, I need the rest of your names as well.” While she waited, she began to pull her hair into a low ponytail and faced the humans.

Saoirse finally began taking in her surroundings and the chaotic scene before her. Her attention turned to the brown haired-green eyed gal, apparently named “Princess Annya”. What the hell was this and where was she? What was this bitch talking about? As she listened, she began to guffaw at the end of the women's majestic speech. Heroes? Was she serious? She doubled over laughing, unable to help herself. She noticed the woman’s armor though, and knew this would be a difficult opponent to deal with. She glanced around the scenario and then back to the woman.

They were summoned here, to this random dimension, to help them with whatever war they were involved in. It was this or being back in Chicago and going to jail. Still, the idea of being a hero, instead of herself, felt foreign and unfamiliar and she was not comfortable with it. Yet, she needed their help and their knowledge. So she remained silent and narrowed her eyes. Shae hated to admit it,but these bastard elves had saved her life; but why her? Didn’t life know she was a criminal, a delinquent, street rat, and better off dead?

Her gaze moved over to Raven to assess her reaction. She remained silent, not replying more. Shouting caused her to move her hand to her pocket as she grabbed a knife. Mentally, she cursed herself for not having her gun on her. This man, clearly out of his fucking mind, was shouting about them beign Spanish bastards. Eyebrows raised. She remained stoic and tried not to laugh at him either. Ws she tripping? Had she been gassed? This was the craziest shit she’d ever been in. Subconsciously, she moved to Raven’s side and slowly let her hand move off the knife. The other elf, Rosaria, was now talking to the man and trying to calm him down. Saoirse took the moment to whisper to Raven, ”Raven, are we tripping?” Her voice was soft, as to only allow her ex-friend to hear. ”I’m not high on LSD am I?” She giggled at the thought, but glanced at her quickly. ”No, girl, I haven’t done LSD, don’t look at me like that,”

Shae folded her arms and continued taking in everything and rubbed her temples. This was unbelievable. A cart was wheeled out with food on it and Shae turned to it. Her eyes widened at the sight of all the food, and her stomach instantly began to growl. She had never seen so much food before. She moved towards it as if she were in a daydream. There were her normal foods he recognized, then unfamiliar shit she was going to stay away from. She looked unable to help herself with wide eyes. Saoirse bit her lip and then began to scarf down the familiar looking food. Hell, if it was poisoned, at least she wouldn’t die starving, which was always how she thought she might end up; if she wasn’t murdered first. She remembered Declan had given her protein shakes to bulk up and felt a twinge in her heart. Her gang… Were they alive? Was he alive? Would she ever see them again? This princess bitch said so, but she didn’t trust her word or anyone else’s.

Aware of a few eyes on her, Saoirse quickly began to slow down. Once she finished eating, she moved away and offered some to Raven. ”Try this. It isn’t bad.” She offered but otherwise didn’t make any attempt to speak to the others or move to help. Shae watched as clothes were brought in and bit her lip. What was next? Where would they be going? Would she be separated from Raven? Hell, who cared? Saoirse sighed heavily and rubbed her temples.

Theme for Saoirse’s heist

The night was calm and still; cars raced to and from to their destinations and animals scuttled about in the woods. Fireflies light up the darkness, illuminating the plants and trees nearby. Streetlights showed the city, filled with rats and people hurrying home. The moonlight reflected off of puddles in the street. Alarms and gunshots pierced the night air, causing people to scream and duck into nearby shops. Sirens followed closely behind, as did muffled yelling. Footsteps sounded as a hooded figure in red jumped from roof to roof, giggling manically. Behind her, others jumped too, and then split up as they went separate ways to confuse the policemen down below.

A bus came rolling to a stop as a girl with white hair stepped off, ready to head home after a wonderful day at a Con. She’d agreed to go with her friends dressed as a cute neko girl and so she was getting strange looks due to the cat ears attached to her head. She was also dressed in a cute little maids outfit as that was the theme they’d decided to go with. She’d taken her heels off and was now walking barefoot. Some made comments about that being unsanitary, but she ignored them. Now she was walking alone down the street, ready for the half hour walk home. She heard the sirens, but didn’t think much of them as this was commonplace in this city.

”This way!” Saoirse ran to the foot of the roof, then hopped off of it and summersaulted onto the next building. Her voice was soft, but her Irish accent cut through nonetheless, and she hastily tried to quiet it down. One of the trademarks of her identity was her accent. She cast a glance at the policemen who were confusedly trying to follow. She blew the cops a kiss as she evaded them once more. Behind her were Deidra and James. Declan and Gaia led the other two groups. The group flew over rooftops silently, though some conversation was shouted to direct one another. Gunshots rang out as the cops below ordered each other, though she couldn’t hear what they were saying. Saoirse guessed it was to shoot them all, and to be taken dead or alive. All was well; the sirens, the alarms, and the bag of money in her black backpack. Her heart felt as if it might jump out of her chest and she loved it. She wore black leggings with a black long sleeved shirt, black gloves, red leather jacket with hood, and leather combat boots. Her hair was in a tight ponytail.

Saoirse giggled, then let out a gasp. A piercing scream jolted her and caused her to stumble, temporarily causing her to lose her hood. She halted and spun around to find Deidra laying on the ground with a gunshot wound to her leg. Color drained from her face as the duo halted, but Dee waved them off. ”Dee!”

”I’ll be fine, Red. Go!” Shae scowled, but then continued to run with James right behind her.

It was gunshots that caught Raven’s attention and she jumped as she glanced around, concerned for her own safety and the safety of others. It was the scream that caused her to stop, her heart pounding in her chest. That scream was close, real close. She gulped as she continued onwards, picking up her pace as she rounded the next corner.

Unexpected footsteps behind her caused her to inhale sharply. Some of the policemen had climbed nearby fire escapes to catch them on the roof. Two rooftops away, Deidra was resisting and cursing at the tops surrounding her. From the east and west of her, screams and shouts pierced through the night, joined by more gunshots and cursing. A helicopter had joined the fray, eager to catch the criminals. Below, she heard dogs barking and knew the K9s had entered the game. Those furry little bastards had taken a chunk out of her ankle once and she swore she’d never forget it. Shit! Now what? Saoirse looked around and skidded to a halt. There was an alleyway nearby.

At the same time, James stopped as he stared at her. ”Go, Red. I’ll distract them for you.”” She stared at him as her heart lurched once more. She opened her mouth to protest but he waved her off. Saoirse scowled; knowing if they caught her it’d be worse. Saoirse pulled her hood back up and distantly heard her name. A slight smirk crossed her face and then she ran to the right and into a nearby alleyway. She hadn’t seen the cat figure below and ended up knocking them to the ground. She cursed as she stared at the figure who’d broken her fall and rolled away. As she climbed to her feet to run away, she noticed the face. Saoirse stood up, backed away, and then scowled. What the hell was she doing here?

”Raven, what the fuck are you doing here?” She quickly tightened her ponytail and glowered. Of all fucking places, Raven was here? The little shit was going to get incriminated if she was caught. Saoirse glared with the strength of a thousand suns. She didn’t have time for this. Her gang was in the midst of all getting caught or injured and brought into the slammer.

Raven hadn’t been expecting someone to land on her from above and was very confused for a hot second. She heard a familiar Irish accent as she pulled herself off the ground and glanced at the figure. She simply blinked at Saoirse for a moment, but then shook her head. ”What do you mean what the fuck am I doing here? I’m walking home! What the fuck are you doing jumping off a ROOF?!” She asked, irritation laced in her words as she crossed her arms over her chest. She looked the woman over, taking note of what she was wearing, the suspicious bag, the sirens and gunshots, and slowly Raven felt nervous. ”Saorise, what’s going on?”

Saoirse groaned with frustration. ”You know this side of town isn’t safe, Raven.” She scowled and then paused. Voices rang out, and her heart lurched once more, recognizing Declan’s. Saoirse sighed and didn’t move to go check. Raven’s nervousness became apparent, and Shae began to curse. It was likely they’d let Raven off, seeing as the girl was dressed as a fucking cat; however…

”Well I’m sorry this is the only part of town that had a place I could afford to rent.” Raven seethed at the woman, but it was clear she wasn’t entirely paying attention at the moment.

”Never mind, I don’t care. Run.” She shoved the girl forward and down the alleyway, hoping she had the sense to follow. ”Let’s go!” The sound of barking was coming closer. Saoirse scowled and moved down the next alleyway, only to find a dead end. ”Fuck!” It was too high for her to scale, and Raven would be quite worthless to even attempt it. Saoirse scowled as she turned to her, ready to begin preparing a quick escape essay for her when a burst of light blinded her. Her throat began to feel tight as she began breathing unsteadily. ”Oi! What the hell - “ She covered her eyes and stared at the light. It wasn’t coming from behind her, as she initially thought; instead, it was against the wall. It was a light portal…?

”Raven, are you seeing this, or am I stoned out of my mind?” The sound of the dogs and cops was looming closer, and they didn’t have long before they were both caught and detained. She scowled. ”You coming in with me or not, girl? It’s this, or cops, and I am not leaving my fate up to those bastards. I’m going.”

Everything was happening quite quickly and Raven was trying to process things. What was this light portal? How did she get mixed up in all this? Did life hate her this much? ”You are literally the WORST!” She shouted at Saoirse before shoving the girl through the portal and following right behind her, not about to be blamed for whatever the woman did.

Saoirse went to snap back a response, but was shoved through the portal. She scowled as she stumbled through it and into a hall. She stared at the ground, expecting it to be a jail. Realization dawned on her that it wasn’t a jail, nor did it even look remotely like earth. The architecture was grand and looked royal. There were tall, humanoid creatures nearby with pointy, sharp ears. She heard a woman’s voice, followed by another, but their words didn’t make sense. What the hell was going on and where were they? What the fuck were these... creatures? Raven’s voice filled her mind as she registered it and scowled in reply.

Raven, in turn, stumbled as she fell through the portal and as she emerged on the other side moments after Saoirse she fell right into her before landing face first on the ground. ”Oh good, now my hands and knees are double scuffed up. Thanks for that.” She shot at Saoirse as she got back up to her feet. She finally glanced around, freezing as she saw...elves? Were they in Middle Earth? No, that elf just said Avalia? What in the world was happening?

Saoirse grunted when Raven fell on top of her and scowled. She rolled her eyes at her comment. ”Your hands and knees scoffed up? Try your ankle chewed out by the dogs, girl, and then come talk to me about pain, or a bullet wound to your abdomen. You’re welcome for the softer landing.”

As she stood up, the women's voices filled her head again. ”Oh you’re SO hardcore.” Raven mumbled back.

Where the hell had they landed? She pinched herself, but the scenery hadn’t changed. Avalia, different dimensions and… what? The chance to be a hero? Saoirse quickly guffawed, a quick change from her scowl. She glanced at Raven and took a half step towards the girl. Saoirse’s scowl returned as she narrowed her eyes. What the hell was going on?

Princess Rosaria stared at the castle hall with intensity. The prior night filled her mind’s eye. If she’d been a basilisk, she might have turned someone to stone. The innocent lives that had been ruthlessly taken had her clenching her fists. Despair must have filled those families, who were looking up to them specifically to help avenge their deaths. Rose promised herself she’d do whatever it took to do so. Her shoulders felt as if there were bricks on them. Her throat felt dry, and she wasn’t sure why her hands were shaking.

Never mind this, she thought. With a quick glance to the thrones, she found her mother’s encouraging smile and her father’s intense stare. Rose found herself looking around for Nuallán as an escape, but her father spoke up and broke her out of her reverie.

King Kymil looked at her directly and spoke with intensity. ”Go on, Rosaria. Your moment has come. Make us proud.”

”Rosaria and Annya, you were born to protect this kingdom and your people. Do not fail us. The stakes are too high for you to fail.” Queen Renna added gruffly, with a sternness in her tone that meant there wasn’t any room for failure.

With all eyes on Annya, her and the other elves, Rose nodded and turned to face the middle of the room. Quickly she bit her tongue so as not to reply and break her concentration. She glanced at her sister and took her hand gently with gentleness in her eyes, as if she were greeting a fawn. Rosaria tried her best not to show her nervousness around her. She had to be strong for her kingdom, her people, and her family. If they so much as touched a hair on her sister’s head…. Rose gritted her teeth and ignored these thoughts.

With a glance around, she nodded to the other light elves and they raised their hands in unison. Her eyes narrowed as concentration filled them. Light shot out of her hands and into the middle of the room. The brightness was blinding, and Rose had to force herself not to look away. Slowly, rifts began to open up. Rosaria allowed her anger to rise as she thought of the innocent lives taken. The General had been one of her friends. Her mind flashed to the Fairy Kingdom. They had their share of trauma and now they had lost their other son. T The dwarf kingdom had been one she admired, though not knowing the prince directly. Then last, but not least, Prince Itsuki. Rose felt her heart lurch as she successfully opened several rifts. This was the right thing to do. Their deaths had to be avenged, and the rest of Avalia to be kept safe.

There was silence; then cheers erupted in the hall. The loudness of it startled her; but she reminded herself to focus. She glanced at the others and found them grinning at her, so she returned it. Then, as quickly as the rifts opened, six humans came flying through it and onto the floor. Rosaria kept her hands up in case anymore came; once it was determined they had only six humans, she then slowly allowed the rifts to close.

Rosaria grinned with triumph as she faced the humans. All eyes were on them; then she spoke sweetly as she approached them with an outstretched hand. ”Welcome, humans, to the Sun Elf Kingdom in the land of Avalia. My name is Princess Rosaria, and I implore you to let us speak and help you.” She breathed steadily, but her heart couldn’t stop racing. Rosaria waited patiently for them to react and kept her smile up.
