The stands in the arena were not filled to the brim but were adequately occupied. The flags waved with the breeze, the flapping an ironically peaceful background noise to what would soon be a violent spectacle. The sandy arena would act as a stage for the play that was to come. Usually, the King and Queen had attended executions, but today it seemed they had other plans.

It wasn't like Cameron Nesworth was anyone important. They trusted their guards to carry out the execution efficiently. Never had a Sorian execution failed after all.

A hush grew over the spectators as the figure began to emerge from the gateway, flanked on each side by a guard. They had a hold of each of his arms, but they had not needed to drag him. His countenance was something to behold as the sun illuminated his appearance. The man had messy tawny hair and was obviously at least into his thirties. He had one blue eye while the other was obviously struck blind. A scar ran through the blind eye. Even the facial hair could not hide the frown on his lips. The brows were furrowed. He was angry.

Whispers could be heard from various parts of the crowd. No one quite recognized him.

"Is he even from Sorian?"

"Who is that?"

"How are they going to execute him?"

"Thank you for dying for our bellies." Then there was the matter of leaving it there and marking it or...

A lightning disc pierces through into the neck of an elk. Blood splutters out of his mouth and he soon keels over, shaking with the shocks from the lightning as sparks zap around its body..

Slick has taken a shot at an antelope in the desert as it was drinking from the pond. He hits it straight in the throat with an arrow, but he's not the only one hunting. A shadow looms over them as a creature leaps off a tall nearby rock structure and slams down over the antelope, crushing it beneath its claws. It is a huge bat-like creature with a spiked tail and humanoid face. With black stripes on its large body and a mane like a lion, it would be truly unlike anything Slick had seen before. It was ten feet in height as he raised his body up and his wings as well, glaring down at the trio with yellow eyes. His voice boomed as he addressed them, "Who gave you permission to hunt on my grounds? This is my domain!"

Charlotte had smiled at John, though the image of him with a knife was clearly etched in her mind, " Oh, well I suppose I am as okay as I can be. How are you?" She politely waved off the handkerchief, "I am alright, but thank you kindly. A huge yes for some tea though." She was going to need more caffeine to get through this day. With a sigh, her gaze returned to her cousin, who had informed her he had been dumped there.

"The last two days have been the worst it's been."She quietly said to him, "If you think this is bad, wait until you've heard about the ball. Anyhow, let's hurry back home. I reckon your parents wanted you to join in the summer courting?" Once Lorenzo had also seemed in agreement, she had begun to walk them all back to the Vikena Estate. Once at the door, Delilah was ever so kind to lead them into the Drawing Room for tea.

Amarantha had not been upset with how things had been going the last four months, but she had not been happy either. It felt as if they had been tugging at a rope from both sides without either being able to get an edge. They were staying still. And that wasn’t enough. If it had been four months, then that meant everything they were doing was still not adequate and she’d have to make some changes. But as always, Amarantha knew exactly what she wanted to do.

Her heels clicked as she stepped through the stone hall of the castle. Her dark hair billowed behind her in reaction to her haste movements. It was almost quiet. The guards stood up against the wall, eyes on her as she moved. No one had spoken.

She reached a transmission stand in the back of the room, just a few feet from the throne. It had a large purple gem on top of it. Along the side of it were thirty-one buttons. Amarantha carefully selected five buttons in particular. Then she waited.

Annya and Bardulf had split off onto the North path upon arrival. while the other had taken the east. She had made sure to give them a few rice balls before putting the rest in her bag. The frigid wind lightly scratched at their skin with its cold claws as they made their way forward. She tugged at the fluffy white hood of her coat, pulling it over her head. Her steps were carefully quiet and calculated. After quite a few absurdly early morning walks through the area, she had a decent mental map of the area. However, she knew that there was a lot of ground that could be covered and it would be easy to wander too far. She could not help but worry over Bron and Ismael just a little due to this idea.

She tilted her head to look at Bardulf with a smile. "Bardulf, I'm really proud of you." Annya leaned her head in to whisper as she spoke, "You're a great leader. " She crossed her arms behind her back and underneath her cost, then pulled out her axes from their hilts in a swift movement, "But now it's time to be a great winner."

Just as she had been whispering, the sound of a rustle in a distance thicket immediately hushed her. Annya grinned and put a finger to her lips. Subsequently, she pointed in the direction of the noise. "Wanna give it a go?" She mouthed to him
