Gringor and Skarsneek

“Bah.” Gringor took the bowl and slurped on it.

“Sure, beats getting mad.” Skarsneek calmed down, and decided to ate his food.

Once done, the two were summoned for a mission, much to their displeasure but kept it quiet.

In turn, Skarsneek had opted to stay close to his wife and Hinami while Gringor stood on the other end.

Hearing that they’re going back to fight the heavenly students, got Gringor slowly riled up.

“Calm down already, your pheromones is all over the place.” Skarsneek said, not liking that it gives out a clue to the enemies that someone is near.

Gringor ignored his words but forced himself to bottle all that excitement and energy, All of it ready to be unleashed once he’s closed.

“Huh, so the whole party is going. This is going to be fun.” He remarked to Takeshi and Shizuka.

So as all of them headed out as one large unit. Skarsneek realized this was probably the biggest group that they had going at once.

He was dressed similarly to the Shizuyamans, with a straw hat covering his head. If one ignored the two holes poked by it due to his horns.

“Careful, the weather is terrible.” Skarsneek said to Atsuha and Hinami as he looked at the light rain. It was easy to catch a cold in this, even with their monster heritage.

Gringor for his part, just soldier on, the rain barely affecting him and the armor creaked. It was much more comfortable due to the rain, and now, he had gotten used to the armor enough that moving around with it at full speed was no longer a problem.

His nose sniffed the air, able to pick up the scent of fresh rain and ground. A very welcoming scent.

Meeting the students was simple enough, and both of them readied for battle.

Gringor saw Takeshi took point, and like him, managed to succeed in the first duel.

He slammed his axe against his armor once, in honor of the victor and Takeshi. The bubbling envy and eagerness rose to do the same and reclaim his victory.

Once it started, Gringor singled out a student that stood far back like a bull.

Ignoring the rest as others handled it, Gringor edges of his vision turned red as he focused his entire being.

He wasn’t like the rest, he can’t do the strike and was pointless to replicate it. He was a High Orc, a Champion, and Tribe Leader.

A certain lazy monk words echoed in his mind.

A fish swims, a hare runs.

And a boar gores.

Raising his axe for a vertical strike, he saw the student got ready for that technique again.

He waited.

An axe swung forward much too early, giving an opening and one that was taken.

Gringor eyes saw it, and he snarled ferociously in glee.

A single armored knee nailed the student head-on, snapping his head and neck backwards, knocking them out in an instant.

Against technique, brute force and cunning. That was how High Orcs fight.

Gringor wasn't finished raised a single foot and slammed it down hard enough to shake the ground as it left a deep imprint. Right next to the Student.

Then without a word, he shot off towards the hammer-wielding Legionnaire. Eager to fight this one, and most of all, he saw that armor. He wanted it, and that hammer.

“HAMMER BOI IS MINE!”

Roaring, he raised his axe high for a downward strike

Skarsneek approached from the sides, his own clubs in hand. Tossing a stone and catching it mid-way before nothing that the Student Gringor knocked out was alive.

“Huh, lucky you.” He said before kneeling on the Student to bind him. The rest of the Students were dead, only he was the survivor.

KUROZUMI HAKU

“Good afternoon, Si-Mr. Burnet.” He corrected himself midway, before looking at the young girl Peppermint.

From a glance, she looks off-balanced, but his instinct says she was also much more.

“Well, let’s start simple.” Haku looked around before sighting a short stool for him. He then brought it over at Burnet permission before sitting down on it. “Try lifting the stool up with me on it.”

If Burnet said she can give him a run, then it stands to see at least how strong physically she is first and still fresh. He weighed just below an average adult due to his stature anyways, so it was the perfect test.

Once getting Peppermint strength, he then held his open hands out and nodded to her. “Now, it’s a test of speed. Just strike my open hands, I won’t retaliate or move them too much.”

Letting himself be a sandbag, he strengthened his palms with some Ryuo. Just in case.

Around the same time that Korbl would be reaching his destination with the bags of trash and recycling, he would turn back around to see a man standing facing him. The man was in what appeared to be business suit, making him very out of place for where Korbl was. He was a taller than Korbl by enough that it made his small frame seem somewhat stretched. “Korbl, isn’t it?” He said holding his hands out to his sides momentarily, showing he was not a threat. “You don’t seem to be from around here. Lets not let that get around though.” The man had a smile as he said the last part and pushed up a set of round frame glasses.

Dumping the bags down, and getting some of the money back. He was about to head back to the club before being met with a person in a suit, a heavy contrast to the rough, tumble blue-collared workers here. Korbl wondered if it was the manager before noting just how tall the person was and how his build made him look lanky compared to him.

"Yes, how can I help you?"

But the moment he muttered his name, his guard went up immediately.

No one, no one in this continent should know his name barring maybe sword competition and historical martial arts tournament circle. His fingers went to the bag containing his sword. "I wasn't aware people knew me."

"And who you might be, ser?" Korbl said as he circled around, always keeping the man in sight while he sought an escape route.

Gringor looked around before spotting the dead lady, he hefted his axe and waved towards her. “Dead lady.”

“Oh, Io! How are you feeling?” Skarsneek also noticed her as he approached the lich, taking a brief glance to see if she’s okay. “We got fish for morning breakfast, eat up if you like.”

“You also got that invitation I see? Looks like everyone is going for that mission. Which reminds me…” Skarsneek turned towards the orc. “Hey, orc, you got your ass kicked previously right? You should sit this one out then.”

“Gringor didn’t lose,” The High Orc said stiffly in annoyance, much to Skarsneek glee.

“Huh, you ran between your tail basically? Figures, all talk and no balls.”

“Gringor can show you some balls, here, come closer.” He gestured to Skarsneek with a threatening hand.

The two might get into another argument, if others decide not to break or distract them with another topic soon.

KUROZUMI HAKU

For the few hours, Haku went and took a break. Cleaning himself and dressing his wounds as he sat in the marines bunk where countless others of the crew rested. Currently he was the few allowed in as he sat in his hammock, swinging with gentle waves.

After a bit, he woke up, get himself cleaned and dressed in the Marine’s cabin boy uniform as he went to perform his duties by cleaning the deck with a mop.

It didn’t take long as he was done, where the vice-captain addressed.

“Hey Haku, we’ll be departing in the evening. The Captain wants you to go and take a look around before we leave,” Then the vice-captain leaned forwards and also added as he passed him some belis secretly. “Also, if you see some tobacco, tea and coffee on offer, help out a buddy and buy them up.”

“Yes, sir.” Haku smiled at that, earning a slap on the shoulders as the vice-captain quickly returned to his duties.

Leaving the ship, he wandered around looking for the items to purchase first. Checking the places that he needs to get what the Vice-captain ordered.

And if he could, check on Coriander as well.

Oh yes, that peppermint girl too. He recalled as he moved to find Burnet quickly.

It didn’t take too long as he finally reached him, unless Coriander or someone he knew appeared in his path.
@Restalaan

Funny you say that my character's other personality is looking for help taking down the mobster that tries to kill her. Would you be intrested in them teaming up?

Can, just let my character get settle down. In maybe 2-3 post.
I think if we can, coop with one another is probably the best way we can progress.

For those interested, for all factions aligned guys, once I get my guy set up. He'll be a muscle for hire, so long you aren't a gangster and willing to pay, he'll be more than happy to join you in your heist/job.

KUROZUMI HAKU

Cadog harrumphed before taking another swig of his rum and offered it to Burnet.

“Work like this are tireless and endless, but it’s my seas,” Cadog said as he took a puff from his smoke pipe. “And I’ll be darn before I let a single pirate get their way.”

“But the boy should’ve been here now.” He mentioned off-handedly, wondering what’s taking Haku so long. Was there an unexpected complication?

Thinking on it, perhaps there was. After all, the original plan was Burnet was the last safety net and if he’s here…

Sighing, Cadog twirled the smoke pipe in his hands. “Ach, well, that boy has a long way to go.”

“You should also get back into shape, Burnet. If only for the piece of mind.” He commented with a wave of his hand, peaceful and weak as the seas was. Danger always struck when it’s least expected. “Or an apprentice.”

“Eitherways, the Marines' doors are always open and we certainly could use more recruits.”

“...Understood, take care alright.” Haku muttered after seeing Coriander resolve.

He doubt she’ll be fine but if that’s her decision, then he’ll respect it but he wasn’t about to sit back and do nothing if he could help it.

Seeing the whole situation however, he briefly wondered if Coriander was born under an unlucky star to have something like that happen to her at the worse possible moment.

As he see her off and disappearing into the town hall, Haku quickly went back into the forest for an inspection.

There’s no telling if there are any more stragglers, even with the traps and Burnet together.

One question however lingered in his mind as he briefly checked himself.

He had his mask on, his clothing, down to even the sound and hairstyle was at complete odds. Not unless someone from Wano recognized the style.

So how did Coriander even knew it was him right from the get-go? Idly, Haku sniffed himself whether it was the scent that gave it away.

Something to consider. That thought flashed as he quickly made his way to the pirates cove.

Just as Cadog finished his words, Haku appeared from the shadows, landing on his knees and head bowed towards Cadog as the shades of trees and rocky outcrops masked him from others.

The latter noticed Burnet still next to him but continued nevertheless, from other perspectives, it was simply Cadog and Burnet having a long conversation.

“Sloppy work, I expected better of you.”

“Apologies, there were…complications. A young girl named Coriander was kidnapped and I had to adjust my plan.” Haku added and raised his head at that, showing his face mask markings. “She’s safe.”

“Hmph, Burnet here had to clean your mess.” Cadog said before his gaze maintained for a moment longer. “You also let them get a shot off? For shame.”

“I have no excuses.” Haku lowered his head in shame at that as the clothing had a thin red line of dried blood. He lost his cool and in the moment, had allowed himself to be grazed.

“Practice your observation more, even in combat. You’re still relying too much on your natural senses.”

“Understood.”

Cadog rummaged underneath his coat, digging for a moment before tossing a small roll of bandage to Haku. The latter caught it without looking.

“Fix yourself up, and take a rest to reflect on your mistake.” Cadog said and moved out, leaving Haku with Burnet for a bit.

“Sorry for troubling you.” Haku replied.
Right got mine up, not much but it's setting the scene.

Most of this probably will take around 2-3 more post before Korbl officially starts his tenure as a bouncer/muscle for hire.
KORBL MEIER

The dusty, smoggy air lingered in his nose and made it curled as a blonde man leaned back against the wall in an alley. Eye carefully studying the landscape and layout with arms crossed.

Korbl Meier inwardly remarked to himself that there was far too much noise in this city. Was every American city like this?

While not a stranger, this was his first time setting foot on this side of the continent.

Though he bitterly remarked, it should've been in a much more joyous moment instead of his current predicament. His fist clenched tightly and his finger ran through his hair, a bit longer now alongside a small stubble on his chin.

Pulling on his own shirt and sniffing it, it was also starting to smell alongside the coat he had hastily stolen when no one was looking. Leading him to let out a weary sigh.

At least the blood hadn't caught onto his clothes.

There was so much blood-

Korbl shook his head and cleared it of intrusive thoughts as he looked onward to solving his current situation. He was after all an illegal immigrant and murderer. Staying low and blending was the right choice.

I'll need a job, a roof, and a passport.

He supposed that in these streets, someone must be looking for hire. Perhaps a club or bar? They probably have the least chance of rejecting someone from a sketchy background.

Cleaning toilets at worse and such is beneath him but he had nothing to lose at this point.

Except for one issue, his eyes hovered towards the alley and near the pipes of houses as one object stood out—a traditional one-sided sword in its sheath, almost like it's facing and mocking him.

Of all things to bring along by mistake, that was the worst. Yet it was his sword, the one he trained alongside that it might as well be a part of his body.

Damn his muscle memories, Korbl grumbled inwardly as he grabbed his sword and wrapped it with his coat before tucking it under his left arm. It just didn't feel right doing it since it'll slow the draw.

Still, looking at the skies and sun positioning, it'll take some time for them to start opening for business.

Best to scout around for which one that'll likely give him a job.

---

Close to the piers and water, it gave a nice view of the city ocean and from afar, a small figure of the famous and vaunted Titans HQ.

One person, however, took a far greater interest as they stood behind a telephone pole from afar as they tried to be as inconspicuous. It was only due to their lanky build that it helped boost the image.

Taking a look from afar, Korbl studied the club. It looked unassuming but all the information he gathered from a mix of booklets, asking around, and checking on the internet from unattended terminals, showed that this was a supposed reputable place.

Squinting his eyes, it didn't build any confidence in him but the place was clean, well-kept, and maintained properly. The location was nearer to the pier but he supposed that was because of the noise.

Although, it could also be because it's a convenient place to empty one's stomach after a night of heavy drinking. Korbl stayed a bit further from the pier railing when he spotted some stain of unknown origin.

From the closed doors, he gently rapped once and then twice.

A moment passed and he repeated the motion. Again, this time, finally caught some footfalls from inside and he straightened himself.

"Yea? What ya want?" What greeted him was a swarthy man bearing a red cloth wrapped around his head, barely able to contain the afro underneath his head as his sunglasses peered down at him. "Look, come back at 8, or don't, you look like you've been kicked out whi-"

"I need a job, will clean, carry boxes, anything." Korbl just got right to the point stoically as he pointed to the walls decorated with graffiti. "Can start now with that."

"Hell naw dog, it took me hours to get that shit correct!" The man yelled as he protectively stepped out of the door completely, showing the simple white t-shirt in contrast to his fashion-laden jewelry and necklaces. "Look here boy, you coming here looking for a job? You should've go start tossing newspaper, this here is a well-respected establishment you hear! And I intend to keep it that way!"

"I understand, and I don't plan to do anything. Just something I can do to help out-"

"Tut, tut, I got nothing else to say to you, so why don't you go and buzz off..." His words trailed off despite him about to wave off Korbl before pulling his sunglasses down to study him for a bit as his eyes flicked to the sides and saw his coat.

Does he know? Korbl hands tightened around his sword, he wouldn't be able to draw it in time, but he was confident he could strike the man down before the latter could move.

"Tell you what, you see those garbage bins over there? Move them to the recycling center and I'll pay you 50 for each one and you keep the change."

Korbl blinked at the sudden change of attitude but his eyes went to the aforementioned bins and it looked filled to the brim.

At least it look packed neatly enough. He rolled his shirt upward and tucked the coat behind his back, before lifting it to carry several bags full of trash. The sounds of clacking bottles and waste assaulted his nose but ignored it.

"And where's the centre?"

"That way." The proprietor thumbed over his shoulder, leading to quite a distant away as Korbl caught sight of it. It would'v taken a normal person about half an hour of back forth alone

Well, good thing he wasn't a normal person. Nodding, he quickly jog his way there.

Unaware that the owner was stroking his chin inquisitively before going back inside the club.

"Hey, someone continue cleaning this mess up. I got something important to do!"
