Naswaru The Relentless.

Still reeling from the shock of almost being torn apart. The huntsmen stayed where he was against the tree breathing deep. Trying to come to mind and figure out what he just went through. The monstrosity that landed next to him didn’t even make him flinch compared to what he just felt. It shook him to his core, yet somehow he could feel something else. Fear was a great motivator.

The fear he felt was something he wasn’t entirely aware that he had. However, now that he felt it he knew what he had to do. He had to continue his work and work with his children to become stronger to keep evolving and adapting. He just wanted to wait till the end of this spire and see what becomes of their brother of deception before heading home.

The beast next to him seemed impatient even as he grabbed the parchment from its hands. He read the parchment quickly before tossing it into the aura of fear. Naswaru watched as it mutated and shifted just inside the barrier before flying off into the dark forest. He could only wonder what he just did. Looking back to the creature he spoke to it. “Tell my brother that I am curious of this meeting, but I am busy. If I am able to come, I will be late to his gathering.”

The large god wasted little time turning from this creature and moving through the trees towards the dark shimmer he saw earlier. Looking for his dark sister was something he was always interested in. he wanted to see why she pulled herself away from her realm just to come here. When he finally found the moving shadows in the trees he stopped and found a place to sit. Watching his brother be torn asunder in the light of the spire.

“It is good to see you Oao. I thought for sure you locked yourself away in that cocoon of yours for good. Although we never really talked much I’m glad to see that you took a risk, perhaps you could grow from this and join us in shaping this world?” He never really had any ill will towards her. She was older than him but in his early years of god hood he would find comfort in the embrace of her shadows. Whether she meant for that to be the case or not he wasn’t sure. “What do you think of this thing? Its power is different yet it opens one’s mind to the truth of their being.”

Ardur The Pixie
Don't mess with the white mage >>>> PROMOTED! /// day 8 // Evening / Location - J11

Ardur was breathing heavily while he watched. Too tired to do anything the pixie sat down and tried to calm his beating heart. This fight was in the hands of the others now, and he surrendered to the fact that he would just get in the way. While resting, he was able to go over his skill points with his new level increase. He must have been close because Rattleskull wasn’t even dead yet before he got his new level.

Looking down the list while the fighting continued in the back ground. He had 7 points to distribute for his third level. The selection this time had also increased which was nice as well as noticing the new shield spell and the fact that he was almost half-way to a new healing spell made him smile. Ardur continued to ponder the other skills, they would surely take some time to level some more than others. Considering this and the direction of the cave reborn currently.

Ardur placed 4 of the 7 points into taming to bring it up to a usable skill and put the remaining 3 points into fireball bringing it up to 0.7. He could only hope that this would help him out in the long run.

His attention turned back to the fight at hand while he continued to rest. Rattleskull was going down quickly in a state of near confusion. Obviously he had never faced such opposition with so many foes. It was easy to understand that having so many creatures working together would be strange to anyone. Even then, such information was useful. It meant that any other creature that would oppose them would be caught off guard at least momentarily by their team work. Even if, it was a bit sloppy.

Finally, the boss monster fell and it took all their might and tricks to finally win. The creature died in anguish and fear. Their kill was not clean by any means. Ardur could only hope that the next things they fought would go quicker. He never really minded death or gore, but he didn’t particularly like suffering. It just isn’t what he is into.

Then he received another notification, “You have overcome a harrowing trial! Your Battle experiences have culminated in new power! You are now Level 4! You gain Skill Points to use as you please!”

“Another level up and 5 more skill points?” well then this was definitely a strange occurrence. Ardur quickly put 3 of the 5 skill points into Fireball giving him Fireball I. the last two points into Stronger making it go from 0.6 to 0.8.

The others seemed to finally take a break and rest, the slow realization of what just happened slowly seemed to dawn on them. Ardur sighed making his way to the goblin leader. Stepping up to the lifeless former foe he watched as the others began to start processing the loot from this kill. Ardur stayed out of their way for the most part, he was only interested in one thing. Food. Something he found easy to get to near the neck. The others had already started to behead the corpse and pulling a few strands of muscle fiber off between their cuts seemed to satisfy him.

It didn’t taste good, it never did. Still, he nonetheless ate the large goblins flesh while standing away from the others. The wisp that he gave the mana crystal too earlier approached him thanking him for the crystal and tried to ask about teaching him some magical skills. Before he could answer another pixie came into the picture and began to converse with him. They spoke of spells and ability’s he didn’t know of before demonstrating them.

Ardur would try to remember what they said about their own abilities before speaking his peace. “I would love to train with you in spells but later.” A bright fiery flash could be seen in the distant cave. “As you can see the goblins are still pressing towards us, and they don’t know their leader has fallen. I don’t know about the rest of you reborn, but I don’t really want to kill any more of them.” He paused for a moment to consider his thoughts. “I mean we killed their leader, their strongest. All that’s left is crispy, but he seems smarter than Rattleskull and could be reasoned with to live in harmony with one another. Or at the very least in peace.” He wiped the goblins blood from his mouth and looked towards the others. “The least we could do is try. However, if the rest of you choose to continue this killing spree I won’t get in your way.”

Ardur was interrupted by a sudden shift and froze in place. something seemed off yet enchanting about their home. that with the new information about their world and this new dungeon could be a problem. hopefully it doesn't draw in more powerful creatures. they needed to rest and regroup before facing a new threat.

Jason seemed to have other plans. As everything seemed to settle and the others looked to be lost in their own thoughts and feelings, the slime called out to him for a heal. Ardur was close by him and thought the yelling after the headache he just received was a bit much but ok. The pixie was able to cast Minor Heal II on Jason before he sped off. Whatever it was he was doing made him quite curious so the pixie followed suit keeping pace with the slime and flying just above him.

Hobgoblin Gird
A good fight >>>> Time to go home /// Day 5 // Evening

It smelled horrible. Still, the hobgoblin couldn’t stop himself as the others did what they needed too. It was only after he felt full that he was able to pull himself up and away from the rotting mess. Whipping away whatever residue was left on him with his arm. The others seemed to be doing their own thing while the other trolls seemed to cower in the back corner away from them. They were definitely scarred, but he doubted they would put up much more of a fight.

“So hmm what should we do with the rest of those creatures in there? Should we...you know?” Luz then drew a line across her neck hinting at her suggestion.

Looking to his friend as she stared over at the trolls, “that decision rests in the hands of Gina and her followers. They found the trolls and this place.” Gird paused for a moment and looked around memorizing this location, so they could return to it. “Let’s go back to the stone building Luz. Go round up the other two and I’ll grab some of that troll meat.”

He was in a bit of a hurry it was getting dark, and he was going to be transporting raw meat back with them. Gathering up a few scraps of alpha meat from the parts he processed into a spider silk bag of sorts. The hobgoblin was aware of the other goblin that was still nearby, so he spoke to him while packing the bag. “You can come back with us to the stone place or stick with the others. Either way as long as you keep up you should be fine.”

The spider silk bag was heavy and quickly stained red with blood. Gird waited patiently for Luz, Barth, Nyma, and the newcomer if he wished to come with them before setting out for the stone church. They moved quickly and with purpose through the dimming light of the forest. Avoiding any dangers and occasionally dropping small bits of meat for any wolves that decided to hunt them. Until, they made it back to the stone church. Gird put the bag of meat up high and away from any scavengers before finding a nice quiet place to lay down and sleep.

The events of the day sure did wear him out but at least he gained a few more followers and a few new skills. The locations they found today should be explored more and searched for better materials and new enemies. From the places Goblin Grandpa had told them about earlier, going north after those bats would be a fine thing to go after and an area to explore tomorrow. After breakfast, of course.

Ardur The Pixie
On Time, On Target >>>> Don't mess with the white mage /// day 8 // Evening / Location - J11

His rock barely did anything except annoy him. The dust he used in his face seemed to disorient him. Still even with the mighty blows from the others Rattle skull still drew breath. What other challenges awaited them if this goblin was still considered a weak one? What other creatures lay in wait to challenge them? Thoughts that would have to wait for another time.

Shaking the thoughts from his head, Ardur was quick to return to his pillar and grab two more crystals. He only had two stashes left now. Dropping as quickly as he could to the floor. Before pushing himself to go faster towards the lizard that charged at Rattle skull once more. The last blow she took must have taken a chunk of her health from her. Following an intercept path, Ardur was able to run his hand across her back casting Minor Heal II before flying off.

Following a wide arch around Rattle skull as he lay on the ground trying to eat something. The pixie quickly flew up behind Digbie brushing his hand across the goblins shoulders casting Minor Heal II and Shield I. he followed this up by using one of the two mana crystals he had with him. Skirting along the ground to pick up another handful of black dirt and ash.

Warning: Your Mana is Depleted.
One Mana Crystal used.
Mana Fully Restored.
1 Mana Crystals in inventory.
System:Ardur

Again the pixie began to climb in altitude before doubling back towards the wisp that fired the mana bolt into Rattle skull’s chest, once he gained enough altitude he began to get close to Danny. Obviously the healer had chosen to make a supply run as well as heals. Tossing the crystal toward the wisp, “Catch!” he yelled while doubling back down towards Rattle skull with the dirt and ash he collected earlier.

He was diving at an angle toward the big goblins face with the attempt to further blind and disorientate the goblin. Ardur did this while also trying not to interfere with the others and their attacks. If it worked or didn’t work the pixie would try to return to the pillar once more, so he could rest and catch his breath.

Warning: Your Stamina is low.
Rest to regain your Stamina.

Naswaru The Relentless.

The ground crumbled and fell away beneath him. It was soft and jagged. Everything weather being sentient or inanimate seemed to flee before the spire. It was a strange sensation for sure. All he could feel was an overwhelming feeling of being watched, as if the very spire its self was a monster superior to him. Like an alpha.

Everything seemed to change as he stepped into the void. He seemed weightless and free. Black wisps of some sort of energy seemed to absorb into him and peel off of him. What a strange feeling. He had barely taken a step but every moment felt like eternity. A burning feeling began to pulse in his chest, the divine energy that gave him his power throbbed and burned. He could feel the energy of this spire permeate his very being to its core.

The god wasn’t sure what this meant, but he didn’t really enjoy this feeling. Through his sight he could see a flicker of darkness just on the other side of the energy. It was blurry but he could definitely still see. Perhaps it was another god. His instincts held true as he saw almost tangible darkness move freely on its own.

So he tried to speak towards the darkness, “Sister? Is that you? Oao, come sister step into the void. I do not believe I can stand this feeling for much longer. I fear it will envelop me and consume me.” He wasn’t lying. Even while in the influence of this spire he could feel and recognize his fears. His fear to be consumed, his fear to stagnate and get stuck. Unable to adapt, unable to evolve and grow. What was this thing doing to him? He was unsure.

Even his very being begun to change. Sure he could change his form to better adapt to the situation but not like this. His skin and form began to contort ever so slightly making him look more and more like a monster that could strike fear into the hearts of others. He could feel his form be torn from him and replaced with something new and strange.

Yet slowly, the god could feel his fear fading and turning to bliss. The throbbing in his chest continued to grow stronger the pain was closing in on being too much. With a decision Naswaru commanded himself to step back and out of the influence of the spire. Once free from its grip it almost seemed to be pulling him back in, back towards the spire.

He fell upon a few trees and stood there breathing heavily. The burning in his chest subsided. His legs and muscles felt weak, and he knew it would take him a moment to regain his senses before deciding if going back in is a wise decision or not.
Naswaru listened to the orc speak once more before nodding towards him. “I agree, seeking hostility’s is not what we should do or aim for. I’m not here to look for a fight, I was contacted to be a guide and survivalist to take whatever team was assembled through my forests. As she said, my people are quite xenophobic. We only wish to stay hidden and commune with the mother, it would also be a mistake to brandish any sort of technology in their presence.” Acknowledging the orc and agreeing with him where simple things. Nkosi was never good at diplomacy, he tended to avoid people all together.

The news of no adventuring gear would mean he would have to wander around this city for a little while to hopefully purchase the supplies he would need for the return trip. Just one more thing he wasn’t going to look forward too. Then he was given a rather finely crafted and sturdy journal. As the Immortal said, it was for research and development of our spells and the magic we find. “Thank you for this. I can only hope that what I find is enough to repay the debt we owe you of keeping my people safe.”

He continued to listen and make mental notes of the locations and descriptions of terrain that we would be traveling through. He kept quiet after being mentioned, waiting to speak his part after she had said what she needed too. “My forests are very dangerous for the unwary or untrained. That portion of the journey may take us several days for me to navigate you through. I will do my best to avoid as many of those creatures as I can. I will also attempt to recruit a few other hunters from my village for that portion as well.” He was rather sure of himself in his ability to guide them through the forest. But it was rather evident that in recent months the forests have grown more and more dangerous.

With the mana surge close by, some creatures have begun to change because of it. Some that where barley dangerous at all can now single handily pick apart an experienced hunting party. Others have grown to monstrous sizes or shrunk to nearly nothing while still being dangerous. Then the rumors of a few rare creatures being able to do unexpected things some say even use magic. Rumors and talk of strange noises and new creatures no one has ever seen have also been reported. Even the plants seem effected by it.

“Do not worry my orcish friend, you are not alone. I too have been unable to use mana in any sense. Although, it’s influence defiantly feels stronger in my forest.” The other female spoke up again going on about necromancy and other magic’s. Nkosi wasn’t to sure what exactly necromancy was other than it was something to do with bringing the dead back to life. A practice seen as taboo by his people. One should die as they have lived. To bring back something that was once dead is said to be a bad omen and will bring about shame to one's people. “This necromancy you speak of. I will learn it but I will not practice it. There are somethings that are seen as taboo to my people. However, I will focus and share my efforts with the rest of you regarding nature and the earth.”

There was one more thing that was bothering him. Mrs. Winters said that they would have enough supplies for four and horses for four. “Mrs. Winters. You said there would be four horses waiting for us. Are you joining us on our expedition or are we waiting for another?” He was quite curious, no one said anything about her joining them.
@ReusableSword - As Naswaru is approaching the spire it seems pertinent that I mention something specific about the effect in progress.

The aura not only projects fear but it also imbues all that it's power touches with the divine essence of fear. The closer things are to the twin strands the more essence they are likely to be imbued with. He may notice that a fair majority of the plants that are nearest to the edge of the crater would all possess physical changes on top of radiating a palpable aura of dread themselves. Such changes may include grey leaves, pale trunks and shuddering fruit & berries. If your god gets close enough to the edge of the crater without fleeing first he may start to experience subtle changes in his physical appearance as well. These changes I'll leave largely up to you to decide.

I shall include that in my next post... but now im curious of how I will seeing as his main theme is adaptation. hmm is it permanent?
