"Open your mind, heart, body, and soul to the universe..." ____________________________________ Out there exists a threshold, an invisible line showing what's possible and impossible. Crossing that threshold is easy for certain people with a specific trait or predisposition, but sometimes, it's not something they do on their own. Sometimes, they get pushed across it, and when they get to the other side, they discover that nothing short of Magic is real. The magic in this world is fueled by human emotion, beliefs, and personality, and individuals can gain magical abilities reflecting themselves. Many different types of these beings exist, but they are under one collective term: The Paranormal. The world of the Paranormal is the gateway to infinite possibilities, stories, and adventures, as it follows these people as they navigate this strange world. The umbrella term for these abilities is known as Paranormal-Abilities; the most basic of these abilities is a theoretical opening of the "third eye." The Paranormal are the only ones that can perceive magical abilities in action, as those without them can only see the effects. The story's namesake ability is known as a Recollection, a flashback where the person experiencing it can see what happened during it as if they were there. All Paranormal-Beings are unconsciously drawn to each other and Paranormal situations, whether they like it or not. Or, the Paranormal will come to them, and it’s suspected that people with the potential to become Paranormal will be drawn to it as well. With Recollections, a person can experience the memories and adventures of other people and gain information on events they weren't present at. It's hard to tell what triggers a Recollection, as some people may experience it in their sleep or when interacting with a certain person, place, or thing that is relevant to them or their goals. Those with a sufficient understanding of magic can show other people a Recollection.

However, each Paranormal being has a personal ability known as an Abstraction. An abstraction is an ability that is unique to them and is determined by the type of Paranormal being they are. No two abstractions are the same; one person can cast away their abstraction for another. Abstractions are linked to a person's soul and are impossible to nullify, or no abstraction exists that negates or removes another except for one specific case. Paranormal beings can only have one abstraction at a time, even if they appear to have several different abstractions - it simply sub-abilities under one larger abstraction. The Paranormal is innately protected from each other by an invisible barrier known as an Emotional-Field, which acts as a natural limiter preventing Paranormal beings from using their abstractions directly on each other. Every Paranormal-Being, except for some rare cases, possesses an Emotional-Field. For example, a pryomancer cannot boil someone’s blood, a telekinetic cannot tear someone’s heart out, and a mind controller cannot work on a Paranormal. Abstractions such as Telepathy and Healing are not typically restricted. An Emotional-Field can have its properties altered by certain abstractions, for example, Lessening magical damage, removing someone’s Emotional-Field, etc. Emotional-Fields inhibit all offensive (and certain Abstractions like mind control and stopping time) Abstractions; however, certain offensive abstractions can bypass it completely (these abstractions are rare, however). Individuals who do not have an Abstraction or Emotional-Field are known as Blind and cannot comprehend or interact with magic in any way. However, those who have been exposed to magic in the past will gain the ability to perceive magic known as One-Eye-Open. These individuals lack an Emotional-Field or an Abstraction and are as susceptible to magic as the Blind.

Paranormal Beings

ADEPTS
_______________________________________________ "Transcend the limitations you have placed on your mind and soul." ..........................................................................	Eons ago, an ancient race of God-like beings known as Ancients visited humanity and bestowed thousands of them access to their magic known as Lux - which is a different type of magic dependant on its color. This has created a spiritual connection to the Lux and the previous generations that wielded it. To access this Lux, a user must first undergo a Kindling-Event when they experience a powerful emotion. During a Kindling Event, they can talk to their ancestors much like a Recollection, and it's possible to experience several Kindling Events. There is such a thing known as a Severance in which an Adept may be cut off from their Lux if they aren't behaving in a way that their ancestors deem worthy (It's also possible for an Adept to sever themselves during a Kindling Event). Afterward, they will be One-Eye-Open and unable to reconnect to their Lux. Adepts are more in line with traditional mages and wizards than the other Paranormal types with a flat ability, and Adepts have to learn Spells. These spells can theoretically be anything within their Lux. However, each Adept has an Affinity, which means they can learn spells easier if they reflect something about them. However, it's challenging (but not impossible) to develop spells outside of one's affinity and next-to-impossible to develop spells that are opposite of their affinity. Spells are created through trial and error and experimentation, but each Adept has a unique way of developing their spells. However, Adepts can also learn spells from external sources such as spell books and other Paranormal beings. An Adept can gain a catalog of hundreds of spells in their lifetime. However, it'll take years of practice, and Adepts can also gain "inspiration" for new spells from the people close to them. Adepts access their magic through an object known as a Channeler, an object that the user has an emotional attachment to - it's possible to use spells without one, but channeling the Lux through one's body will cause severe burns and lead to unstable Spells. The act of using spells is called Casting, and every Adept has its own method of casting (Visualizing and concentrating, chanting, rituals, etc.). An Adept can have multiple Lux; however, the more Lux they have access to, the weaker their overall spells will be. An Adept with multiple Lux can devise spells within one Lux or make spells combining several Lux. It’s common for an Adept to have one Lux, uncommon for two, and rare for three or more. Types of Lux Red (Rage): Elemental Lux, the most common type of Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Bull—examples: Manipulation of fire, ice, electricity, earth, plant, and similar abilities. Green (Joy): Biological Lux, the third most common type of Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Deer. Examples: Healing, shape-shifting, wing generation, etc, Yellow (Terror): Stealth & Defensive Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Spider. Examples: Invisibility, barrier generation/forcefields, dumbing sound down, etc. Pink (Love): Mental & Emotional Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Dove—examples: Emotion manipulation, mind control, telepathy, illusion creation, etc. Gold (Pride): Summoning & Minion Creation Lux, the third rarest type of Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Lion—examples: Creating minions of choice, summoning a defeated monster, etc. Purple (Anticipation): Movement & Time Lux, the second most common type of Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is The Mustang. Examples: Teleportation, time travel, Portal Creation, telekinesis, slowing down time, etc Orange (Courage): Infusion & Abstraction-Strengthening Lux, the second rarest form of Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is the Tiger. Examples: Creating a magic sword, boosting Paranormal abilities, making an object stronger, etc. Blue (Sadness): Curse Lux, the rarest form of Lux. The ability to cast curses which requires a stipulation to be broken. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is the Swan. Examples: Cursing someone to turn into a monster, creating a deadly illness, cursing someone to be haunted by the dead, etc. White (Nostalgia): Information Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is the Owl. Examples include Observing locations remotely, seeing into the past/future, reading auras, gaining information about the environment, etc. Black (Apathy): Necromancy Lux. The Ancient that embodies this Lux is the Hound—examples: Creating zombie minions, manipulating apparitions, etc. GM Notes Adepts are probably my second favorite out of the types, so I'm biased. They're probably the most complex, given how Lux n' shit works. Blue Lux are heavily restricted and require permission from me to make one a player character - otherwise, they will be an NPC-only Lux. I should note that newer adepts (aka what should be most of the cast) should only have access to three or four spells at a time - and I demand a list of spells they can cast in their abstraction section. Keep in mind the more types of Lux they have access to, the weaker their abilities should be. Also, please run any new spells by me first.
APPARITIONS
________________________________________________________________ "They emerge from a world that shouldn't exist."	Ghosts, Spirits, Angels, Demons, Echoes, whatever you call them, above all else. Apparitions are unique as they are the most fantastical and vague of the Paranormal. Opposed to being made of flesh and blood, they are made of pure magic, and instead of being born, they are spawned into existence. There are three ways an Apparition can be created: from either a powerful enough belief (or emotion), made by another Paranormal (these abstractions are few and in between, incredibly rare), or when a person with a strong enough emotion dies a piece of their leftover consciousness and memories become an Apparition. In the case of the latter, they are not the soul or spirit of the individual and will only harbor a few of their memories and fragments of their former personality. A new Apparition is nothing but a blank slate, and many Apparitions were dead Paranormal-beings that cast away their humanity. These Apparitions are fueled and powered by these emotions and beliefs - and the stronger those are, the more powerful they become. An Apparition can, alternatively, fade from existence if said emotion or thought wanes. Apparitions are, otherwise, effectively immortal and can exist for centuries - if destroyed, they will regenerate in time (stronger Apparitions can regenerate as fast as a couple of hours). Apparitions, by default, are invisible to the Blind (they can choose to make themselves visible), but the Paranormal and One-Eye-Open can perceive them. While the Paranormal can interact with Apparitions, only the One-Eye-Open can see them. However, the primary method for defeating an Apparition is known as Sealing, and they can be imprisoned in an object where they will be trapped for all time unless freed. Apparitions can prevent themselves from being sealed or fading from existence by binding themselves to a human in some way, shape, or form (in this state, their Abstractions are entirely static). Apparitions, by default, are invisible to the Blind but can reveal themselves at will. Apparitions are responsible for most curses and can be manipulated by Black Lux. How to seal Apparitions It's simple to seal an Apparition. A person has to draw symbols on the ground or environment that they truly believe will seal the Apparition. Then, they must place an object of any size inside the sigils; alternatively, they can draw the symbols around. Then they must battle the Apparition and weaken it enough to activate the Seal and trap the Apparition inside the object. Larger and other more powerful apparitions require bigger sigils to be drawn or for them to be far weaker, but all an Apparition has to do is be in the vicinity to be sealed. The Apparition can be released if the Seal is destroyed, and the Blind can use their abstraction if they are in contact with the object. Sealing does not work on the Abscised, Agents or Adjoined. GM Notes Apparitions will be heavily restricted for several reasons; you can only make an Apparition if you get my permission. Apparitions apart of an Aberration are fully allowed.
ABERRATIONS
_________________________________________________ "Freak, monsters, predators, prey, Aberrations. Do not take them lightly." .........................................................................	Aberrations are what are considered to be "outside the lines," something not a part of the grand design of the universe. Aberrations are people who have had contact with the Paranormal and gained either a blessing or a curse from their abilities. Almost all Abberattions are created from the Blind interacting with Apparitions, but they can also be created by Adepts or by interacting with magical artifacts. Unlike Adepts, Animals can become Aberrations due to their strange nature. Aberrations are considered Paranormal Beings so that they can use all of the baseline abilities, but only the Blind/One-Eye-Open can become an Aberration. Due to the odd nature of the Aberrations, they are separated into five subclasses: Aberration Types Adjoined: Are Paranormal-Beings who have an Apparition attached to their soul and can utilize their abilities. Either the Apparition uses their abstraction freely, the Adjoined can transform into the Apparition, or the Adjoined uses the Apparition's Abstraction by proxy. Sometimes, these can intersect, and there can be an Adjoined that can do all three. Afflicted: A person who gained an abstraction through being cursed. Agent: A person who has contact with a sealed Apparition or a magical artifact and can use their abstraction by proxy. Abscised: An Abscised is an Apparition that has taken control over somebody's body (Either possession style, removing a person's soul first, taking over a deceased human's body, etc) and can use their abstraction through them. The Abscised are varying degrees of undead. Abominable: Unique as the Abominable are not humans or Apparition, but instead the Abominable are creatures that have been created by magic. They have been created by a Paranormal being at some point or some were born naturally from another Abominable. GM Notes My favorite type of Paranormal beings. They'll require a bit more background work as you'll have to come up with how they'll become an Aberrant (mainly running into an Apparition, etc). With Aberrants, you aren't limited by belief or personality or whatever and can come up with anything - however, you have to come up with Apparitions.

The Allverse

"Reality is a wild, unpredictable, beast. Every choice you make leads to a different reality." .................................................................................

Within the Recollections universe exists a multiverse dubbed the All-Verse. The All-Verse is a vast and interconnected web of parallel dimensions, alternate realities, and different planes of existence that exist alongside our primary reality. The variety of these dimensions can range from entirely different to almost the same, except for the most minor differences. One significant aspect is that everyone in these dimensions has a Counterpart, which is essentially a different version of them - except there are constants and variables (Constants being traits that they all share and variables are traits that can change). These counterparts are spiritually connected. This spiritual connection differs for each person; some counterparts can read each other’s aura/mind, gain more powerful abstractions in each other’s presence, switch bodies at will, etc. These universes were never designed to interact, but magic can allow travel between each universe. The All-Verse represents reality itself. However, there is a state of unreality. The space outside the All-Verse and reality is known as The Void. The Void is the space between universes, and their universal laws, such as time and decay, do not exist there, and it is home to unimaginable horrors. Even with magic, entering the Void (and vice-versa) is challenging because a safety net exists, a barrier that prevents objects from falling out of reality. However, this safety net also catches the remains of destroyed universes and becomes something just as horrifying as the Void: The Pit. The Pit is a savage land consisting of the fragments of reality it caught, inhabited by any other being that fell out of existence. It is a horrible land inhabited by some of the most horrific creatures known to man that is nigh-impossible to escape from. Very few have escaped the Pit, and those that have left their sanity behind. The universe in which this story takes place is known as Shimmer.

Welcome to Recollections: Who Is Eleanor Black?, another RP set in the supernatural horror/urban fantasy universe known as the Recollections universe. Set in a strange and unique universe where magic reflects the core of its humanity and its emotions, beliefs, and thoughts.

In Who Is Eleanor Black? the story revolves around a mysterious woman that has had a profound effect on so many people's lives. She saved some lives, changed others - she is a friend, a sister, a mother, a lover, and many, many other things. However, the only issue is that she doesn't exist. There's not a trace of her in any census or log, and if you ask someone about her they would have nary an idea of who she is. What she did gets attributed to other people, and just leaves the people that apparently know her feeling crazy! This is a phenomenon as there are other people who know about Eleanor Black - all of them meeting over the internet - with each of them having a wildly different version of her in their heads. They figured that they can't all be crazy and settle to get to the bottom of this. One trait that each version of Eleanor Black has is that she grew up in (or some relation) a small swampy town known as Quintin, Louisiana raised by a rich family known as the Black Family. Organized by a woman named Jennifer Caspin, they all agree to meet in Quintin and get to the bottom of this mystery.

However, Quintin Lousiana is not a place that's welcoming to strangers, especially not the kind that snoops around. More importantly, the Black family and Quintin themselves harbor a terrifying secret that they will fight tooth and nail to protect. They will dive into the world of the supernatural as they learn that Eleanor is more than just a woman. And possibly something other than human. The story is inspired by Life is Strange, Dead by Daylight, Lakeview Cabin/Valley, Bakemonogatari, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. A fusion of genres, this RP will have themes of Urban-fantasy and horror (I call it Off-Urban fantasy) with a southern gothic aesthetic. One of the most important things for me would be having the right tone and vibe, which I think will be darker and spooky. The thematic will be the nature of identity and the effects one person can have on a person's life and if they would be the same if the person was different or absent. Above all else its thematic will be Connections, Emotions, and Memories.

1. First and foremost I reserve the right to reject anyone from the RP and boot them out at any time. I hate to do this and I will try to avoid it but sometimes some people are too disruptive to the RP or aren't a good fit and have to be removed. 2. Please try to be respectful towards all other players. 3. The Recollections Universe is a dark off-urban fantasy set in the real world, so it'll be relatively realistic. This means I want all characters to make sense, have a realistic (or real) faceclaim, etc. You can pretty much go crazy with any type of character of mostly any sexuality, gender, race, religion, etc, etc. Just stray away from sociopaths/psychopaths. 4. The tone of the RP will be fairly dark and brooding... not like super gritty or edgy (only a little). It'll have plenty of dark moments and probably some pretty graphic moments. However, it'll be offset by the absurdist humor inherent to the setting. 5. Please no "wip" sheets on the OOC. Post a complete sheet or don't post anything at all. If you need something looked over, feel free to private message me. Speaking of which, the character tab is for accepted characters only. 6. Keep in mind that your character can totally die. If they make the wrong move it can result in their death and I will not jeopardize the story to save them. 7. You're allowed to have as many characters as you can handle... just don't go too crazy. I'd like to keep it to about two characters max per person, but if you got a really good idea I'll allow more. 8. Keep in mind that this RP isn't quite a regular superpower RP (even though you'll ignore this), it's an off-urban fantasy with horror themes. It's honestly a weird blend of like thirty different genres but that's beside the point. I want the abilities in this setting to be more grounded in magic, the fantastical, and the thematic over everything. I like abilities that reflect the user in some way, but I'd appreciate seeing how you interpret it. I would prefer if you stray away from scientific abilities like gravity/magnetism manipulation, but I will allow it if you insist. 9. Your character's relation to Eleanor Black can be anything, as in you are encouraged to go crazy. The point is for each character to have their own version of Eleanor Black made up in their head.

10. I only describe the essential lore for making a character. That is because I like doing stuff from top-to-bottom, meaning I like to explore the supernatural world in character. If you want any details about the lore for making a character please let me know. 11. Nobody will start with an abstraction of any kind and I will decide on an abstraction for their character. I will PM it to you at a certain point. I reserve the right to change the abstraction if they have not developed it yet. To balance it out, ya’ll can decide MY character’s abstraction. 12. This RP will strictly be "first come, first serve." Meaning I will not reserve any /character/roles/etc, and they will go to whoever finishes their character sheet first. If there's a conflict over it, I will decide the outcome. 13. All I ask for is one post a week. If it's been a week since your last post, your character will be placed into the inactive section until they are written off (mostly by death). Please be aware that once your character is inactive they can be killed off. 14. The RP runs off of Ambiguous Time Period. Basically meaning the rp will have aspects from different time periods so it'd be hard to place a specific time period. 15. I would like it if everyone is an outsider to Quintin. A few twists wouldn’t work if a lot of people were from Quintin. Again, if you have a cool idea I will allow it. 16. There are rules that are so beaten into your head that it should be obvious.

For better or worse, Jojo sticks out like a sore thumb due to a mixture of her "crazy ass genetics" and her own doing. Probably the first thing that people notice about Jojo is her height, she's just tall standing at six-foot even and very lanky and well-built. The girl hits the gym a lot because she has lots of muscle definition around her arms and legs and great abs. This is all because of a long life of athletism and working hard for the results she wants (oh yeah and genetics. Never forget the genetics). Not very curvy though, she's flat on both ends - she got a little butt due to squats but that's about it. This gives her a somewhat masculine aura that she hates but she knows she's at the stage of her life where she can't do anything about it. What doesn't help is her square jaw and sharp facial features (also gotten from her mother).

Next is her dreads.... she has a lot of hair due to those genetics and she has it twisted into dreadlocks that she dyes a forest green. She usually lets them hang but she ties it into a bun if she fights. Now Jojo is African-American with roots in West Africa and the Caribbean - her mother being half-Bermudian. She has brownish skin but wishes that she was a bit darker but the rest of her facial features are consistent with African-Americans and whatnot. Due to a lifetime of being a wild child, she has a bunch of different scars from getting hurt as a kid, some fights, and burning herself cooking.

In terms of attire, Jojo isn't exactly the flashiest dresser.... sure, she'll put on a dress on the right occasion but those instances are few and in between. She dresses for comfort 75% of the time and what's comfortable for her is gym clothes. Tight clothing such as bike shorts (that go a very short range), leggings, tank tops, athletic tees, sports bras, and so forth. It's to the point wonder if she lives in the gym! Jojo doesn't like jeans so you'd be lucky to see her in some but she does wear the occasional skirt (with bike shorts underneath). Now dressing to show out isn't her forte but expect her to whip out the big-name sports names like Nike, Adidas, and Kappa and even wear a dress if you got her in a good enough mood!

Oh yeah, and she loves to dress green.

A very chill and laid-back person, Jojo doesn't get super worked up over the little things anymore and focuses solely on the bigger picture. That bigger picture is her legacy... will she be able to reach fame or will she just be another footstep for someone else. A hard worker by nature; Jojo finds herself more at home working towards one of her many goals or just at the gym. However, she's very personable by nature and finds herself making friends very easily - though sometimes people get intimidated by her appearance and steer clear of the woman. Jojo is a very bubbly person and talks very fast with a hint of an accent which sometimes makes it hard to understand what she's saying. Though, sometimes she doesn't fully think about what she says before she says it and things start to get complicated. Either way, it's very hard to get Jojo angry unless you really try to. Due to her upbringing as a vagrant (as she calls herself) she learns not to get too attached to people - even as an adult she's still learning how to open up and let people in.

Jojo was the daughter of her mother Nakala Phillips - a legendary drill sergeant in the US Army - and her father Carl Jackson - the two had a complicated relationship so they were never together but Jackson remained a part of his daughter's life. Jojo was born in the Ramstein Air Base in Germany and her early life was one of traveling from place to place. On one hand, Jojo got to say that she lived in places like Hawaii, Texas, upstate New York, and Florida, and stayed in South Carolina for most of her mother's Drill Sergeant bid... on the other, she felt like an outsider in people's lives and learned not to make attachments. Nakala wanted a better life for Jojo than she had so she did all she could in the Army to make sure that the girl was happy - but also applying her version of tough love on the girl. She didn't want Jojo to grow up spoiled and lazy so Nakala made sure that Jojo was very... active, shall we say. Nakala taught her all the skills that she knew Jojo could apply in life such as cooking, and cleaning, and even taught her how to do her taxes! She made sure that Jojo wasn't on her ass on her phone or watching TV... she made sure the girl went out and played sports and volunteered on the weekends when she wasn't with her friends. The reason was a bit more than just not wanting a lazy daughter... she just wanted some free time now and then!

Now and then when Nakala was sent off to deployment or her father wanted her; she scrambled the money to send Jojo to Chicago. Her father was a boxing coach that trained Nakala... and Jojo got the bits and pieces of the relationship that her mother didn't talk about. However, Carl helped Jojo find a new passion and something that'd keep her busy than working in an animal shelter or picking the trash out of the river. Whenever Jojo was sent to her father, Carl, he trained her to be the best fighter she could be, and eventually, when she went home she started looking for boxing gyms. They were a bit expensive but her mother was happy that her daughter had found something to temporarily get her out of her hair on the weekday. Eventually, Nakala retired from the Army and settled down in Chicago.

That was when Jojo graduated high school and decided that college wasn't for her... she hit the gym pretty much every day she wasn't sick and worked her ass off getting in shape or she was training. She picked up a few jobs to cover her costs but that wasn't her goal... her goal was the Women's International Boxing Association - and through years of fighting underground, she eventually made it into the league in the Welterweight class fighting for America. It was a brutal and chaotic era of Jojo's life as she had to work her ass off to continue to compete as there were people with years of experience over her. It was an era of wins and losses, and asking herself "What the fuck is going on?" so many times.

Naturally, despite all of her hard work she hardly got the attention that her male peers got - she hated it but she understood life. Eventually, she managed to get to the Welterweight championships - and not just that, but the grand finals! It was her against Mother Russia as she was close to gaining the title that she felt she deserved after years upon years of hard work...

.... and she lost.

Russia took home the world championship as so many people that were rooting for her tried to comfort her but Jojo knew they were disappointed in her. However, the only person that scolded her was her mother... Nakala told her the only reason why she lost was because Jojo was so single-mindedly obsessed with the championship and nothing else. That Jojo needed to slow down and enjoy her twenties like Nakala herself did - balancing her job in the Army with still being a teenager! Go on vacation, go explore, go do something because all work and just work would drive Jojo crazy.

Carabo was a place Nakala liked as a youth, so Jojo just packed her things and went on what would hopefully be an amazing vacation without anything bad happening. Right?

To go from top to bottom; Lily has thick dreadlocks that she dyes a blue color. Her dreads range from back length to shoulder length - she has to get them retwisted constantly because her hair grows fast. She has cyan, blue, and tan rubber bands tied into them for style purposes. Lily has a nose ring, her earlobes stretched (with silver earrings) and the middle of her upper lip pierced - and since I have nowhere else to note this: yes, her nipples are pierced. Lily is heavily tattooed but she’s basic and has flowers tattooed on her. Her right arm is a fully colored rose garden with green vines and red roses that goes from her chest down to her hand. Her left forearm is a tattoo of her home city; New York with a skyline and various landmarks wrapping around her arm. It stops at her bicep. Her legs are a floral wreath with various flowers and vibrant colors and she has the night sky tattooed on her back. You’re unlikely to see that tattoo, however. In terms of vibe; Lily is a very lowkey person. She looks just a bit trashy, usually wearing sweatpants and tattered jeans, and a t-shirt of her choice. Only bust out the dresses and skirts on special occasions. She has the vibe that someone doesn’t give a damn and just rolls her way out of bed and walks to the function. Otherwise, Lily is composed and keeps a neutral expression - but when she’s around friends she has an iconic and catty smile. As for Lily’s appearance: she’s a full-blooded Puerto Rican and there’s no doubt about it. She’s from the Bronx so she speaks with a Bronx Puerto Rican accent. Lily is kinda short at five-two and is of average build - skinny under baggy clothes but she has a bit of baby fat she can’t get rid of. She has a little flappy stomach she has from the most minimal amount of exercise. Lily has a couple of scars but nothing major, just some childhood scars from some boo-boos.

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Lily isn’t fully sure… she’s not the type of gal to have some grand goal. She just wants to get the chaotic mess that is her life together but when she starts to get a grasp something else happens. You can probably say that she’s trying to eliminate that mountainous credit card debt and trying to fix things between herself and her sisters.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Everything happens for a reason. There’s no point in sitting around crying about everything going wrong in your life when it serves some type of purpose. Lily believes that everything that has gone wrong in her life happened because a higher power has a plan for her. Whether preparing her for the next challenge or as a good sign that the good times are coming soon.

SECRETS ⫻ Lily isn’t going to talk to anyone about what happened with her ex-boyfriend. Mostly because she feels crazy and it is kinda crazy now that she thinks about it. The more reason to keep it to herself.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Straight but the last thing on Lily’s mind is doing anything romantic. She’s thoroughly turned off from the prospect until she does some healing.

FEARS ⫻ Spiders and Reptiles. it all roots from a cruel prank her cousin played on her involving his pet snake and tarantula… she’ll freak out if she sees something serpentine or spider-like.

WHO IS ELEANOR BLACK TO YOU ⫻ Eleanor Black was a prison friend to Lily that protected her and showed her the ropes when she was in Rosies. Lily vowed to be there and give Eleanor a place to stay when she got out of Prison. Lily was surprised a different person took Eleanor’s place.

FLAWS ⫻ Lily’s had a very long and hard life… and she refuses to get help. She’s the type to bottle all of her emotions and problems up and keep pushing forward. However Lily is reaching the point where she’s about to explode. Lily hates to see things go wrong and people getting hurt (especially due to her own decisions) which is why she tries to always take charge and lead but has a hard time not being the one in charge. Lily lived a lifetime of putting others first and isn’t fully sure of how to put herself first.

"My family hates me, my boyfriend tried to kill me, and now I'm starting to remember things differently."

Lily started as the eldest of three sisters (Yara and Clarita Santos-Romano) in New York, New York! Her parents got married shortly after Lily was born and life in NY was simple. Her parents worked their asses (Her father being NYPD and an armed guard on the side and her mother being a nurse) off so they can have a house and while they were struggling here and there Lily was given all the love they could provide. Maybe they couldn’t get her every toy but they sure as hell did what they could. The issue was that Lily was older than her sisters by five years and when her siblings were old enough to be left alone. Her parents both picked up a lot more hours and… Lily was pretty much the second parent.

Now Lily loved her sisters with all of her heart but after school, she had to make sure they got home, make sure they ate, make sure they got their homework done while taking care of herself. It was stressful and all Lily could do was live for the weekend and dread the weekday. Other than that Lily’s early life was uneventful; she partied, tried drugs, made friends, and got in trouble (sometimes the NYPD brought her back home). She didn’t do anything crazy because she was raised to be responsible while her siblings were more… wild.

Her safe space was art… Lily was a very creative and artistic soul. She put her vents and frustrations into different art pieces that ended up being thrown into the garbage. She couldn’t risk anyone seeing how she really felt.

The big change in her life was the revelation that her father was cheating with a fellow police officer and her parents were getting a divorce. It was a hard and stressful time for Lily because her father took a step back from childcare. Which meant Lily had to step up, whether she wanted to or not. The sweet release came when she finally graduated and went off to college to become a doctor.

For once in her life, Lily had freedom. Now this isn’t a story of the repressed child going crazy in college but the story of expanding to new horizons. Lily’s dream was to become a doctor and she had fun in college… until she realized that being an adult wasn’t all fun and games and the stress of college started bearing down on her. Her release was shopping - to make a long story short Lily developed a bit of a shopping addiction and opened quite a few credit cards.

When she couldn’t open any more credit cards she did something a little bit shady (and by her admission shitty): she opened some credit cards in her little sister's name. Because she had a lot of free reign in her youth, Lily was able to snoop around and find her little sister's social security cards. She thought the time they wouldn’t find out and she felt like she was owed something because she threw away so much of her youth helping take care of her little sisters.

As a side hustle to keep her from being flat broke 24/7, she took up a side hustle or two. They ended up working part time at the local cafe but that didn’t cut it for her. One thing that Lily didn’t drop was art and she had a growing interest in tattoos. Not just getting them… she knew how much bread the various tattoo artists around NY were making so she decided to experiment. Using the credit cards she put in her sister's name; she bought a tattoo gun.She started small with some tattoos on herself and her friends as practice but then she realized that she was a natural. She made a bit of money putting cheap tattoos on people and quit that stupid barista gig.

It was the final year of college and Lily knew her hard work was about to pay off… then she got a phone call from her mother telling her to be honest about what she did. Lily confessed and promised that she would pay them off when she became a doctor. Of course, this didn’t happen. The cops came looking for Lily and she was arrested in front of the whole campus in one of the worst moments of Lily’s life. Why?

You see at the urging of their new stepfather, Clarita and Yara pressed charges against Lily. Neither of them wanted to do it but they were pressured into it by him. So that meant Lily had to spend a bit of time in jail before she got convicted of identity theft. The judge ordered her to spend two years in prison and Lily got very familiar with Rikers Island’s female unit: Rosies.

Rikers was not fun, and Lily spent her time regretting throwing her life away to show off for some bitches that didn’t even realize she was gone. She was beaten, bullied, and more by the more vicious inmates but then she came: Eleanor Black. She was a woman that was doing a bid for illegally possessing a firearm and assault that was around the same age as Lily. Eleanor took a liking to Lily and the two got along… being Lily’s only friend in prison.

You see Eleanor was in prison for a little while before Lily even got there; and would be there for a while after. She knew the ropes and had respect due to being a bad motherfucker that she passed down to Lily. Lily was able to make it through Rosies thanks to her and started a small business of giving people tattoos in jail (and accidentally causing an outbreak of HIV - oops!). She promised to be there for Eleanor when she got out of prison.

Two years passed by and Lily was let out of prison and ended up staying with an aunt up in Brooklyn. Her sisters had forgiven her and Liliy had no ill will towards them - except she wanted nothing to do with her mother or stepfather. It was Lily’s fault that it happened but couldn’t help but feel some type of way about it all.

Going back to college wasn’t going to work and those credit cards stacked up a lot of interest and other fees while she was away. She was scraping by to get back on her feet and her only idea was to become a tattoo artist. She did everything she could to spread the word and get her license and eventually, she managed to get a little bit ahead of the curb. She became part of a tattoo shop and life was going pretty good. She remained in constant contact with Eleanor Black through letters and Lily reaffirmed her promise to her friend behind bars. Every month Lily made a letter to Eleanor and got one back.

Things changed when she was introduced to Rafael Cruz, a friend of a fellow tattoo artist in her shop. To make a long story short the two fell in love after hours upon hours of hanging out, texting, and other lovey-doey things. They became boyfriend and girlfriend and moved in together a year later. Rafael wanted to move back to his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Texas was a hike away from New York… but Lily loved Rafael and she thought that maybe New York was a bit too cold. So a few months later Lily was in San Antonio, away from her family and friends. It was one hell of a culture shock and she had to get used to being called a “Yankee”. She found herself a new tattoo shop and life was good.

However, a few months later Rafael changed… he started being a lot more controlling and abusive - he was acting all loko! Lily tried to endure it and try to figure out how to fix him but it became more and more apparent that this was the “real” Rafael. She had no choice but to grab everything she could fit in her car and stay with a friend. Blocking Rafael on everything she thought things were okay while she got herself back on her feet and tried to find a way back to New York…

… Then one night, things got weird. Lily’s friend called her to the front door in the middle of the night. When she got to the front door; Rafael was there, holding an old toy he told her about. Then she was frozen in place, she couldn’t move - it was not shock but it felt like there was some outside force keeping her in place. Then he gestured for her to come forward… and she moved forward towards him unable to stop himself. Rafael caressed her face and she felt chills down her spine as he kissed her against her will. That’s when he pulled out a knife and… dropped the toy. The second he dropped his toy; Lily was able to move on her own free will again. She quickly ran out of the room and went into her friend's room.

Locking the door behind her, Lily rummaged through her friend's things until she found her friend’s pistol. Rafael opened the door but Lily had already squeezed the trigger twice. Rafael was shot in the arm and abdomen and collapsed… as he fell, she noticed a pink light around the toy that faded moments later. The police and the EMTs were on the scene soon after and took Rafael to the hospital. Lily didn’t know what happened to him after, but she ghosted after that and lived in her car until she found a new roommate and an apartment in a different part of San Antonio. She figured that she’ll stay in SA for now… she didn’t want to move ever again, bad memories or not.

Life resumed as usual until it was time for the big day: Eleanor Black’s release from prison! She saved money just for this occasion! She flew out to New York and waited outside of Rosies for Eleanor… only for a completely different woman to come out. The woman hugged Lily but Lily damn near had a panic attack - Lily didn’t know this woman but she knew Lily. She told her that she did everything that Eleanor did - but she wasn’t Eleanor! Lily just went with it and went back to San Antonio and did research. Every letter to Eleanor had a different name on it and no matter how deep Lily searched she couldn’t find anything on Eleanor Black. Did she just get names mixed up or was she finally crazy?

After searching online she found out that others knew of Eleanor Black but… different versions of her? Things were weird but Lily needed closure. They agreed to meet in Quintin, Louisiana, and Lily packed her things and drove there.

Jasmine is a very pronounced teenager in terms of appearance, some of it is because of her pronounced facial features because of her Ethiopian heritage. She just has that distinct Ethiopian facial shape. That means that Jasmine here is African-American to her very bone. Afro-textured hair, brown skin, thick lips, and of course the African facial shape. She has a slightly nerdy vibe about her because she is utterly blind without her glasses, and hates the fact that she has to wear them. However, the girl is much more in line with urban girls. It's the way she dresses and acts, after all. Jasmine has the aura of a model, mostly because she loves to pose and take pictures of herself. She's a girl that loves to be in tip-top shape, instead of being a slob. Because of this, the girl's body is pretty well-toned from exercise and the biz. She has very strongly built legs from years of football in her youth but the rest of her body is toned due to bodybuilding. All of this means that Jasmine is a tad muscular. She does have a bit of body fat, and all it does is make the girl curvier. I'll go into that later. The girl isn't painfully tall at five-three, but her build more than makes up for it. She has a pear body shape, instead of the famed hourglass - but she makes it work. With her lower body being the broader part of Jasmine, her breasts aren't anything to write home about at 34B, but her hips and behind are wide. Her perfectly round behind is the butt of many jokes. Jasmine walks with a swagger in her step and sways her hips left and right. She gives off the aura of a vain female with all the looks she gives people that tell them she's the queen bee. Though, she certainly has a playful side. It shows when she smiles - and that's only when she's around the people she trusts very much.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Jasmine wholeheartedly believes that everyone has a purpose; regardless of if you’re fulfilling it or not. Everyone has to be great somehow and in order to be great you must work towards it and give it your all. Nobody got to where they were by being lazy and neither will Jasmine.

SECRETS ⫻ Jasmine keeps her true feelings for Eleanor Black under wraps because she’s not sure how to process them. She just denies it for now.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Jasmine says that she’s straight but is truly unsure. She finds herself being attracted to both men and women… but she’s not exactly the type of person who wants a relationship. She sees it as a distraction from her goals - in fact, she’s never gone on a date, never been in a relationship, and never had sex. Her standards are way too high for most people anyway. However, this causes her to act out a little because she’s very sexually repressed.

FEARS ⫻ Jasmine fears the inevitability that she will never be good enough and for all of her training someone else will be better. What goes deeper than that is the fear that it’ll all be pointless in the end. That at the end of her story is not success but failure and its all a waste.

WHO IS ELEANOR BLACK TO YOU ⫻ Eleanor Black was Jasmine’s arch-rival. Eleanor was better than Jasmine in every aspect and Jasmine hated it. However there was a hidden admiration for Eleanor that developed into romantic feelings. Jasmine deep down loves her but she doesn’t know anything about love.

FLAWS ⫻ Jasmine… lots of toxic ideals embedded into her when she was just a wee lad. She believes that she can’t slack even for a second, and cannot take it slow or else she’ll fall apart. Ignoring everything about her mental health or problems in favor of chasing success at all cost. Jasmine has been on the brink of falling apart for awhile now and just keeps pushing. Thus, Jasmine’s social skills are not the best as Jasmine can only really see from her own perspective. So to say the least; she’s very stubborn.

"So all my life I've been obsessing over someone that didn't exist, except the wrong person? Ay, this is starting to hurt my head."

Nyala was born in Germany to parents that were very important architects that made plenty of trips around the world for business and pleasure. That made the money flow in for the young Nyala and gave her everything she ever wanted. She was always a ball of energy... like, she was a limitless supply of it. Which caused her to act out without any real outlet. It would be years before anyone would even think of putting Jasmine in a sport. Which ended up being football (or Soccer you American-centric swine) and it ended up being Nyala’s passion.

Her parents were so happy that she came home with a trophy or a medal (and so was she!)… but so disappointed when she came short. Her father took her on a trip and told her if she’s going to get anywhere in the world she’s going to have to push herself to be the best. After all, he worked his ass off to get to Germany, worked his ass off to get a degree, and works his ass off to keep Nyala happy. So Nyala was not going to be a slacker, whether it was sports or academics.

In high school she was the star player in the girl’s football team… for a few months before she came; Eleanor Black. She joined the team and ended up being better than Nyala. Not just at football but everything: she was a better student than her, more popular at school, and just excelled. It forced Nyala to push herself further and further just to be better than her at something. Only to just come up short.

It was a trying time for Nyala, but she couldn’t help but have some type of… admiration for Eleanor. Even if she wondered if some of it was affection - the girl didn’t know how to process such emotions. She turned down every romantic gesture all because she didn’t have time to entertain everyone (and there were a lot). Even though Nyala wasn’t sure if she wanted to punch Eleanor Black in the face or kiss her, Eleanor showed her respect and kindness. Things that Nyala could not say she showed other people.

Nyala’s dream was to join the women’s football team and Germany and her father pulled a few strings and a scout looked her way. With hard work and dedication, Nyala managed to get on the women’s football team. This was amazing but Nyala soon realized that, while she was the top dog in high school, she was a little fish in a big pond out here. And this team was cutthroat.

Still, she was talented, skilled, whatever you call and that got her by… and of course Eleanor Black came along and joined the team. She was what Jasmine wanted to be: the star player instead of being… just there. As the years went by; Eleanor became a local hero, known minimally worldwide - And Nyala couldn’t take it. She worked so hard just to get bested by one person.

Eleanor Black took them to the world championship against Columbia and Nyala had to watch it all. When Nyala was out on the field, she did something hasty - in a stroke of finally getting her power back, Nyala tripped Eleanor right as she was going to get the winning score. Nyala laughed in her face… as she was pelted with trash and kicked off the field. Thanks to Nyala, Germany lost and she was urged to resign from the team. Nyala gracefully took her exit and retreated into the shadows, unsure of what to do with her life.

In a spur of what could only be impulsiveness, Nyala decided to start fresh in America - changing her name to something a bit more local… She liked the sound of Jasmine. She took the long ass flight to Clearwater, Florida which was a culture shock for Jasmine to say the least. She attended school supported by her parents, but school wasn’t for her. She had that drive, and while she was disgraced, she made sure to use that in the gym.

Making sure that she maintained that body, Jasmine spent countless hours at the gym and as a hobby built up a social media presence… and maybe thought that she could use her little bit of fame to become a fitness influencer. Except she wanted to be known for doing more than posing and taking pictures of her ass, she wanted to show that she put in the work.

But the butt shots got the likes.

It took her years but she finally found her place away from Eleanor Black… and she realized that even if she gets away from Eleanor Black, she’ll never “get away” from Eleanor Black. It was like she was the representation of all the heights that Jasmine was never going to reach. Jasmine lived with the fear of Eleanor Black was around the corner… and she still wanted her in that way.

One night Jasmine got drunk off wine and decided to stalk Eleanor Black on social media…. And couldn’t find her, maybe figuring that she had just deleted it. She looked her up to find… nothing. Which was odd because she was Germany’s darling. Whatever. The more Jasmine dug through the odder it seemed until she found out that the person she tripped was a different person altogether!

This was odd because she hated (secretly loved) Eleanor Black with all of her heart! But Jasmine definitely wasn’t crazy - she recalled events to the letter. It wasn't even Eleanor Black who Jasmine tripped but apparently a different broad altogether. She found the others who knew about her and agreed to meet in Quintin…

For better or worse, Jojo sticks out like a sore thumb due to a mixture of her "crazy ass genetics" and her own doing. Probably the first thing that people notice about Jojo is her height, she's just tall standing at six-foot even and very lanky and well-built. The girl hits the gym a lot because she has lots of muscle definition around her arms and legs and great abs. This is all because of a long life of athletism and working hard for the results she wants (oh yeah and genetics. Never forget the genetics). Next is her dreads.... she has a lot of hair due to those genetics and she has it twisted into dreadlocks that she dyes a forest green. She usually lets them hang but she ties it into a bun if she fights. Now Jojo is African-American with roots in West Africa and the Caribbean - her mother being half-Bermudian. She has brownish skin but wishes that she was a bit darker but the rest of her facial features are consistent with African-Americans and whatnot. Due to a lifetime of being a wild child, she has a bunch of different scars from getting hurt as a kid, some fights, and burning herself cooking.

In terms of attire, Jojo isn't exactly the flashiest dresser.... sure, she'll put on a dress on the right occasion but those instances are few and in between. She dresses for comfort 75% of the time and what's comfortable for her is gym clothes. Tight clothing such as bike shorts (that go a very short range), leggings, tank tops, athletic tees, sports bras, and so forth. It's to the point wonder if she lives in the gym! Jojo doesn't like jeans so you'd be lucky to see her in some but she does wear the occasional skirt (with bike shorts underneath). Now dressing to show out isn't her forte but expect her to whip out the big-name sports names like Nike, Adidas, and Kappa and even wear a dress if you got her in a good enough mood!

Oh yeah, and she loves to dress green.

A very chill and laid-back person, Jojo doesn't get super worked up over the little things anymore and focuses solely on the bigger picture. That bigger picture is her legacy... will she be able to reach fame or will she just be another footstep for someone else. A hard worker by nature; Jojo finds herself more at home working towards one of her many goals or just at the gym. However, she's very personable by nature and finds herself making friends very easily - though sometimes people get intimidated by her appearance and steer clear of the woman. Jojo is a very bubbly person and talks very fast with a hint of an accent which sometimes makes it hard to understand what she's saying. Though, sometimes she doesn't fully think about what she says before she says it and things start to get complicated. Either way, it's very hard to get Jojo angry unless you really try to. Due to her upbringing as a vagrant (as she calls herself) she learns not to get too attached to people - even as an adult she's still learning how to open up and let people in.

Jojo was the daughter of her mother Nakala Phillips - a legendary drill sergeant in the US Army - and her father Carl Jackson - the two had a complicated relationship so they were never together but Jackson remained a part of his daughter's life. Jojo was born in the Ramstein Air Base in Germany and her early life was one of traveling from place to place. On one hand, Jojo got to say that she lived in places like Hawaii, Texas, upstate New York, and Florida, and stayed in South Carolina for most of her mother's Drill Sergeant bid... on the other, she felt like an outsider in people's lives and learned not to make attachments. Nakala wanted a better life for Jojo than she had so she did all she could in the Army to make sure that the girl was happy - but also applying her version of tough love on the girl. She didn't want Jojo to grow up spoiled and lazy so Nakala made sure that Jojo was very... active, shall we say. Nakala taught her all the skills that she knew Jojo could apply in life such as cooking, and cleaning, and even taught her how to do her taxes! She made sure that Jojo wasn't on her ass on her phone or watching TV... she made sure the girl went out and played sports and volunteered on the weekends when she wasn't with her friends. The reason was a bit more than just not wanting a lazy daughter... she just wanted some free time now and then!

Now and then when Nakala was sent off to deployment or her father wanted her; she scrambled the money to send Jojo to Chicago. Her father was a boxing coach that trained Nakala... and Jojo got the bits and pieces of the relationship that her mother didn't talk about. However, Carl helped Jojo find a new passion and something that'd keep her busy than working in an animal shelter or picking the trash out of the river. Whenever Jojo was sent to her father, Carl, he trained her to be the best fighter she could be, and eventually, when she went home she started looking for boxing gyms. They were a bit expensive but her mother was happy that her daughter had found something to temporarily get her out of her hair on the weekday. Eventually, Nakala retired from the Army and settled down in Chicago.

That was when Jojo graduated high school and decided that college wasn't for her... she hit the gym pretty much every day she wasn't sick and worked her ass off getting in shape or she was training. She picked up a few jobs to cover her costs but that wasn't her goal... her goal was the Women's International Boxing Association - and through years of fighting underground, she eventually made it into the league in the Welterweight class fighting for America. It was a brutal and chaotic era of Jojo's life as she had to work her ass off to continue to compete as there were people with years of experience over her. It was an era of wins and losses, and asking herself "What the fuck is going on?" so many times.

Naturally, despite all of her hard work she hardly got the attention that her male peers got - she hated it but she understood life. Eventually, she managed to get to the Welterweight championships - and not just that, but the grand finals! It was her against Mother Russia as she was close to gaining the title that she felt she deserved after years upon years of hard work...

.... and she lost.

Russia took home the world championship as so many people that were rooting for her tried to comfort her but Jojo knew they were disappointed in her. However, the only person that scolded her was her mother... Nakala told her the only reason why she lost was because Jojo was so single-mindedly obsessed with the championship and nothing else. That Jojo needed to slow down and enjoy her twenties like Nakala herself did - balancing her job in the Army with still being a teenager! Go on vacation, go explore, go do something because all work and just work would drive Jojo crazy.

Carabo was a place Nakala liked as a youth, so Jojo just packed her things and went on what would hopefully be an amazing vacation without anything bad happening. Right?

For better or worse, Jojo sticks out like a sore thumb due to a mixture of her "crazy ass genetics" and her own doing. In Who Is Eleanor Black? the story revolves around a mysterious woman that has had a profound effect on so many people's lives. She saved some lives, changed others - she is a friend, a sister, a mother, a lover, and many, many other things. However, the only issue is that she doesn't exist. There's not a trace of her in any census or log, and if you ask someone about her they would have nary an idea of who she is. What she did gets attributed to other people, and just leaves the people that apparently know her feeling crazy! This is a phenomenon as there are other people who know about Eleanor Black - all of them meeting over the internet - with each of them having a wildly different version of her in their heads. They figured that they can't all be crazy and settle to get to the bottom of this. One trait that each version of Eleanor Black has is that she grew up in (or some relation) a small swampy town known as Quintin, Louisiana raised by a rich family known as the Black Family. Organized by a woman named Jennifer Caspin, they all agree to meet in Quintin and get to the bottom of this mystery.

However, Quintin Lousiana is not a place that's welcoming to strangers, especially not the kind that snoops around. More importantly, the Black family and Quintin themselves harbor a terrifying secret that they will fight tooth and nail to protect. They will dive into the world of the supernatural as they learn that Eleanor is more than just a woman. And possibly something other than human. The story is inspired by Life is Strange, Dead by Daylight, Lakeview Cabin/Valley, Bakemonogatari, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. A fusion of genres, this RP will have themes of Urban-fantasy and horror (I call it Off-Urban fantasy) with a southern gothic aesthetic. One of the most important things for me would be having the right tone and vibe, which I think will be darker and spooky. The theme will be the nature of identity and the effects one person can have on a person's life and if they would be the same if the person was different or absent. Above all else its thematic will be Connections, Emotions, and Memories.
