Through the thin veil that seperates this from that, the tiniest of puncture for the shortest of moments, not enough to be noticed but just enough to be used. Into unknown darkness, falling through and endless, starless and soundless pitch, with no up or down, no day or night, a perfect void. Then, after what felt like an eternity but was truly not more than a mere instant, you see it. A light. There, in the distance, flickering faintly like a candle about to be extinguished by the mildest of gusts... Closer it draws, on the verge of vanishing but never quite doing so... Then, without warning, it is suddenly upon you. Right in your face. You crash into the bright, ever-changing spectrum of swriling colors which overloads your senses like a psychadelic fit!
... Then, there's nothing.
... Followed by the softly intensifying chirping of birds... And... A blue sky.
Some Forest...
It is a little prior to noon. The sun has not yet climbed to its zenith in the sky, a sky populated by wispy and lazily sailing clouds of thin white strands. The green, lush grass on the ground is soft and pleasant, with a bit of moisture and the scent of summer on it. The melodic chirping and tweeting of various birds can be heard all around, from the trees and the bushes and the rest of the underbrush too. An idyllic and peaceful moment on a quaint and slow summer day.
... If not for, y'know, these guys...
There, lying sprawled on their backs in a variety of ways, is a group of humans. From different walks of life, from different parts of the world. All female, and all dressed in ... What are those!? Did a cosplay-convention or club or something fall asleep while out on a camping trip? At the moment, they're all just lying there, their backs on the ground and their eyes closed. But... Sooner or later, one - or all of them - will wake up.
So, let's take stock of what they'll be greeted by when they do.
They're in a little clearing, covered in grass, shrubs and some wildflowers... Unfamiliar flowers at that. There are about two or three larger rocks or stones, a fallen, hollow log and ... That's about it. There are trees though. lots of trees. In every direction. Some of them have oddly green-ish bark though... Not the more common brown color, which most of the other trees seem to sport. Some of the leaves are also strange, having yellow-orange-y fringes or edges... Yup. These sure aren't the kind of trees you'd see back home! At least not all of them. Many look fairly standard and garden variety...
For now though, the group of girls seem to be alone. No other humans or animals seem to be snooping around the glen. Which is probably a good thing, for both social and survival reasons. Except for the songs of birds, the first thing these lovely ladies will see when they wake up... Is each other.
Anyway, Cecilia is accepted. I'll momentarily add her to the character tab and put her in the cast-section of the OOC. Don't worry, I'm sure I can help you find a suitably scandalous bikini that doesn't fringe on violating the RPGuild prude-laws. :p
With that said, I'm back from granny's funeral and am about to have some lunch. After that, I'll start writing up and hopefully posting the first IC post for all ya cool cats so we can get started. ^^
EDIT:
... Juuuuuuuuuust as soon as you asdd her height, eye and hair color... I totally spaced on that bit.
I love Cecilia, I relaly do. But... That outfit is too much, even for me. xD I don't mind any of the other Phantasy Star outfits, or metal/armor bikinis in general. But that one is gonna get us in some hot water with the mods. Also, I fear for Cecilia's well-being and chastity if she were to walk around populated areas in that. :P
Otherwise though, perfectly perfect and acceptable. Just get a slightly less.... Obscene... outfit and we're good. ^^;
Yep, the last link of those three worked. The other two, not so much.
I've edited Charlotte's sheet in the character tab, and hopefully the linked image shows up for you all. Let me know if it doesn't and I'll fix with some fenagling. :)
Alright, alright. What I'm hearing is that you're all mostly fine with whenever. So, as soon as @Click This gets their sheet done, I'll try to get the first IC post up ASAP.
Don't feel like you're in a rush thougbClicky. You seize that opportunity and get rich. Then wire me some of your earnings, m'kay? :3
Oh, and @Crusader Lord, that link you provided leads to a 404 error. xD
Alright, there we go! Charlotte has been added to the active cast-list, welcome! :)
@ All of You:
I havee now added all of your extra, free abilities, as well as defined what your costume's current defenses are equivalent to. Pleaset take a look at each of yiur sheets in the character tab to make sure you know what's up. I've also edited so that all of your heights are displayed in both imperial and metric measurements, in case some of us prefer one over the other. *cough*
With that said, we're now only waiting for @Click This to finish up their sheet and then I suppose we can get started. Which leads me to my first question;
Barring that Clicky finishes their sheet on this upcoming Sunday, would you like me to hold off on starting the RP until then? Or would you all be alright if I start it whenever. Remember, I'll post an update every Sunday, so if we start things on this satruday, as an example, you'd all just ahve one day or so to respond before the next post from me went up.
So, let me know what you'd prefer. Democracy and the votes of the many will decide your fate!
Height: 5'9" / 175 cm Eye Color: Lavender Hair Color: White, with pink and purple highlights ]
Name: Charlotte Victoria Roberts Age: 17 Nationality: The United States of America Occupation: High School Student; Part Time Barista Gender: Female
Personality:
Charlotte is a person who is both rather hard working and able to be rather patient with things she is working with or tasks she believes are worth doing, at least, and is the kind of person who might be found plugging away at a project all-night or putting her all into some other task if she felt it was important enough or had enough value without another word until you find her passed out at her workbench. The sort who seeks to get straight to the problem as best as she can, planning and thinking on it and even trying out different approaches until she can find a solution if she has to. Another thing that can describe her well would be ‘down to earth’, though, as she is usually focused firstly on functionality and practicality when making something or accomplishing a task. This isn’t to say she doesn’t have an imagination, but that she tends to try to look at things first and foremostly in a practical sense from her perspective. When frustrated she tends to bottle things up inside herself for the most part, including at times until they make her ‘explode’, though in a general sense she tries to be at least polite and courteous with those around her when in public and so forth.
She dislikes her costume and is irritated by it in that it is far more ‘eye-catching and flashy’ than anything she’d ever care to wear normally at all. More like something her older sister would wear, actually, as she herself had always preferred to wear baggy and long and comfortable clothing over anything else. Not that she wasn’t accustomed to safety gear for working otherwise, but this….really? She looked like she belonged in a casino serving drinks or rolling dice for pity’s sake! But even though wearing this thing would continue to irritate her to no end in a general sense….well, if wearing this thing meant she could make interesting new things and cast cool spells that had to at least be a silver lining about having to wear it to be able do any of the cool things as well as survive, right? …Right?!
Background:
Despite her parents getting ‘fancy’ with her name, Charlotte was born in what many might see as a ‘run of the mill’ middle class lifestyle. Mostly. The second oldest of four to two happily married parents, she would also end up becoming the ‘daddy’s girl’ of the bunch as she took an interest in many of the tools and work her electrician of a father made use of in his line of work. This would eventually turn into fiddling and tinkering with things using her hands, ranging from participating in the local ‘battle robot’ league to just fixing things in the general sense or helping fix things as she learned more about it. Despite this, she would also come to help around the house in general as well as in handling her younger siblings and wrangling them or the like.
Unlike her generally more spoiled older sister, she never really complained about it over the years and mostly kept quiet and just got things done. Yet this also came at the price of having to help more around the house as her father was injured on the job and her mother picked up part time work to help supplement the family income. It certainly was a life of sorts to live, but it was a life she came to be patient with all the same. In that vein she was often called ‘more mature’ for her age by some of her teachers, though whale that was true enough about her ‘reserved’ was probably the better word to use at other times. Often Charlotte wasn’t the most outgoing social figure, though she did manage to find a few friends either at school or within the realm of her personal pursuits and tinkering. Likewise, where her older sister would end up seeking a business degree in college one day for a future she instead felt like taking up a trade like her father did or maybe working with computers and IT-type things.
When she turned sixteen, she would eventually find work as a barista at a local coffee shop. The owners of the location knew her father like friends, since he’d done some work for them in the past at their home a few times over, and they were a welcoming presence (at least) as Charlotte would be hired and eventually get the idea of how to do her first job over time. By a year later, as she began her senior year of high school, she was accustomed to the orders of regulars and the occasional ‘curveballs’ that would come her way for the most part. Etc.
Yet one late night, this being early on in her senior year of high school still, she was working at her and her father’s shared workbench in the garage basement of the house and was getting rather tired after having worked earlier that day. As she was beginning to turn off things and put her work on the latest little battle robot she was making, though, suddenly she thought she heard a voice speaking to her. Looking around herself she couldn’t see anyone, family or otherwise, but the voice kept getting more and more clear and distinct. As it did so, her eyes felt more and more heavy as well. Then it all went black.
Costume Overview:
Type: Hybrid (Caster/Artificer)
Source: Casinos/Anime
Imagery: Gambling
Powers/Abilities/Spells:
- Auto-Cleaning: Your costume somehow washes itself daily, meaning you never need to worry about stains or bad smell!
- Auto-Repair: Should your costume ever become torn or damaged, don't worry! It somehow restores and repairs itself daily, meaning maintenance is a non-issue! ... Unless you're in a still on-going fight.
- Pajama Party: A sleeveless, spaghetti strap, gold-colored, and comfortable knee-length nightgown, which has lacy black borders along the bottom of it with gambling-type imagery in detail sewn into it with gold threads. It is also, and most importantly, rather comfortable to sleep in and automatically grows longer in colder weather or colder climes (and shorter in hot weather or hotter climates respectively) to keep the wearer more comfortable at night no matter where they are!
- Stat Boost (Minor): Charlotte's costume bestows upon her a slight increase to her magic resistance, magic recovery and overall spell-power. It also boosts her dexterity and focus by a very mild margin.
- Warding Garb: At this stage, Charlotte's costume provides her with some additional resistance to hostile spells. It also provides the same amount of defense as a leather hauberk and leather leggings.
- Novice Artificer: Charlotte's costume grants her the basic, bare-bones understanding of all things crafting. Be it cooking, skinning, leatherworking, smithing, engineering, carpentry, tinkering or alchemy. She now just knows how to do these things and what she needs to do it. Of course, being at a novice-level also means she can't create anything too advanced, fancy or remarkable yet. But at least she can grill a nice skewer!
- Crapshoot: Two conjured magical dice are conjured and fired off at the target like projectiles. Can only target a singular target. The spell is performed by simply pointing a finger at the target, whether it be via a cool ‘finger gun’ or just pointing any finger of hers at the target, and activating the spell. Spell is only launched from a single finger, however, even if multiple ones are pointed at the target (in such a case she has to choose which finger it is cast from if more than one is pointing at the intended target). The dice will have a singular random ‘element’ imbued into them upon being conjured and fired off at the target. The element that actually manifests is completely random and up to the player to decide on.
