Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Eden, Hallway past Wraith and by Fitness Center
Skills: General Medical, Fast Reflexes, General Surgery

Alexander went through the travel bag confirming a medical kit, now Manny had something to work with, and a way to make sure that at least one of the two could live. If that. "Thank you..." Manny said hesitantly, not really sure what he thought about the situation overall still. He was still treated as a prisoner, and the people here seemed ready to kill him off at any time. He was unarmed, getting tired, and sore, he needed a break, but unless this group was one of many they would be heavily out numbered, and Manny didn't see things going much better.

He didn't find much, just some ointment and some aspirin, though the girl seemed fine enough, he was in a hurry now to save her life. She was stable now but for how long? If more people got hurt would he be able to pull off much more then he had already done? Soon enough, the last two girls ran off to continue the fight, Manny didn't like that idea either. They didn't give off the impression of army rangers or navy seals. Then again the only military people Manny really knew were kind of assholes to him, so he figured they could fit the bill. He understood their distrust, but he still wasn't a fan of it. So he would have to make the best of it for now.

He applied the ointment as carefully as possible, his hands were not clean, nor did he know if these meds were still within their recommended shelf life, but something would be better then nothing. Once he was done with about done with that, Alexander had moved on to help the others when gunshots started to go off, Manny was getting anxious now. Though now he was alone with a wounded that they seemed to care about, at this point if he wanted to he could take her gun and use her as a hostage to get out. Everyone of these group members seemed ready to kill him at any time. Though, if he did that, how far could he go? He had spent most the apocalypse within stone walls with armed guards, and enough ammo to wipe out a horde. Mostly. BY the time he finished, he decided against this, if she recovered or he got any worse, he would lose a fight, and all these gunshots would draw infected, though he didn't like the fact that he was working on someone alone while in a building full of people shooting and dead bodies. No telling what may happen.

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

It wasn't every day that a Ash got himself a spontaneous man-kiss from someone in his chain of command. Despite all of the hell and turmoil that everyone had gone through, despite even his personal descent into an emotional oubliette that he was still trying to claw his way back out of - Ash laughed. It was a little unnatural at first, and in truth he tried to stifle it back. This only resulted in a sharp sputtering sound and prompted him to just let it come. He even wiped away a tear.

Ash shook his head and dismissed the incident with a well-meaning, "As you were, Officer." He even chuckled a little more before returning to his makeshift seat by the window. There was a slice of hope left to them, as fleeting and as precious as it ever was. He stared out of the crack between the boards, looking at the outline of his Hordebuster against what starlight filtered through the clouds and trees. Though a touch unprofessional, Ash allowed his mind to wander into daydream, thinking back upon the history of the vehicle and his memories of it.

He was a lot younger, obviously. The truck was no longer new, nor was it a rust bucket. It was built a while back in Canada, of all places. Their paler cousins to the north stepping on the toes of the American companies, and damned effectively, too. The Freightliner company had put out an engineering masterpiece, series of them in fact, that was more fuel efficient, had better handling, more hauling power, better braking, and was designed to smoothly handle mountain roads and (in some circumstances) light offroad capacity. It was a solid, ware-hauling monster, with infinitely replaceable or machinable parts. Naturally, instead of keeping up with the industrial spirit of competition, the United States Government protected their investments by altering the laws concerning interstate trucking.

The bright blue truck that was to eventually become The Hordebuster, and many more in its series, were no longer allowed to be used as freight haulers on American interstates. Most that survived in the U.S. were refitted as utility vehicles. The truck in question became a severe duty dump truck. It had served its purpose for a few more years, hauling construction waste and fill dirt, graveling sites and the like, until it was eventually replaced by shiny new models. In truth, they didn't even do a better job. But seriously, what kind of dump truck had a sleeper cab? It made no sense. The truck sold on the extreme cheap to a struggling businessman from the hills of Virginia. Name of Holloway.

Ash remembered his dad telling him that their family business was struggling. They could make product, but they could not move anything themselves nor did they have the finances to hire a shipping company. Not after all of their money got sunk into the Distillery. There was no point in trying to go legit if it bankrupted the family. It was a gift from God, his father had said, that this piece of awe-inspiring Canadian machinery was made available to them, although it was highly unusual to deliver goods regionally in a dump truck, it did the job. Ash sometimes went on these runs with his dad, or with one of the distillery workers as time permitted.

His mind drifted further along, past school and his career with the Army. It was common knowledge that the truck saved a good number of people after the Outbreak in Virginia. What most people didn't know? It saved his family long before it, too.

More gunshots rang out. Of course more gunshots rang out. It's what they did. It was why they were here. The plan remained to kill every last fucktard in the building, and that's what Thalia intended to do. Unfortunately, these gunshots were from farther up the corridor from the position of the rest of her group. While maintaining the cautious direction of her pistols down the way she was moving, the determined Scots-Latina turned an eye back up the way she came. It was a precarious position to be in, virtually leaving her open on her flanks. Luckily, she was in a hallway of sorts. It would be pretty unusual for something to attack her from the side. The head turn did give her a direct view of the effect of the gunshots, which was not the best news ever: Beatrice took a bullet to her leg.

The responding gunfire from Alexander gave Thalia a sense of relief, if shaky. The group still had the raw intestinal fortitude to slap them back. It counted for something. But what was beginning to concern her was the manner in which the veteran commanded her to return to the rest of them. The first instinct was to tell him to "go to hell" and just keep doing what she was doing, but his voice had a wiry edge, it seemed to her, that might mean they were getting overrun and needed a couple extra guns applied to the situation. Like they needed her. Who knows, they actually might. "...Gawd damnit..." she sighed, running back to where she entered the area, hovering about Beatrice.

Thana was standing. She had to admit it, the bitch was tough. And she had to give it to Beatrice, she was handling all of this like a champ. Thalia wouldn't have been surprised if the bullet wound in the girl's leg started bleeding icewater.

Back up the corridor, she could see the potential ambush spots - the hallway to the right and all the way at the end. Just to see what might or might not poke a head out, she exclaimed with projected voice, "Oh no, my gun jammed and I'm open!" with her two perfectly serviceable weapons pointed in the direction of potential trouble. She just wanted to see if they were really stupid.

"Thank you Medic." Ray said letting out a slight sigh as he reached down to grab the makeshift walking stick and hopped off of the table, looking down at the bandage over his chest her started to slowly lower his shirt. "I'm gonna get some shuteye if you need me for watch duty let me know." Ray said as he turned and headed over towards where Amelia had laid down, every part of his body was stiff and sore now at this point. He was really tired now as Ray just flopped down on one of the sleeping bags that were set up and looked up at the ceiling, the day was a complete shit storm but Ray was really happy to hear that Tiffany was still alive. As Ray started to let out a slight yawn Raymond finally started to close his eyes and fell asleep rather quickly.

Ray started to dream, as he woke up and turned to look at the clock it was around 6AM, it was going to be his first day at his job and fresh out of college. He had gotten a job at a local news station as Ray started to grab his food for the day Ray packed up a peanut butter sandwich and a bottle of water and a bag of chips as well. Ray turned and started to get changed as well for the day and was out of his apartment in 30 minutes. The drive wasn't all that bad as Ray eventually made it to the news station with no problem at all, as he parked his car in the employee parking lot Ray headed into the building.

Ray started to head up to the floor, and eventually was met with his boss, Raymond gave him a smile and motioned for Ray to follow. "Glad your hear." He said towards Ray as he followed him into an archive room where there was a few stories that were getting ready to investigate. "I want you to look through some of these files and find something." He said as Raymond "Sure thing." Ray said and gave him a nod and headed into the room and quickly started to get onto his work.

Riley had gone to sleep already and was already starting to dream somewhat she was just getting off of the plane in London, she had two cousins that lived there as well. She did have a full day before actually going out and getting ready to go on her first tour, Riley started to head down the airport towards baggage claim. Her cousins had came to visit them a few times in the past, Riley did get along well with both of them. Her bandmates all took separate flights, but hers was the first one to get in Riley looked around as she stood in the pickup and drop off area. Then Riley spotted her cousin's car and smiled as her cousin Cassandra parked the car right in front of her.

Riley smiled brightly as the door opened and then approached her cousin and pulled her into a hug. "Good to see you again Cass." Riley smiled brightly, as Cass smiled and returned it as well. "Great to see you as well." Cassandra said as Riley went over and opened the trunk and dropped her luggage in the trunk. Riley then went over and got into the front seat as she leaned back in the seat as Cassandra got into the car, and started to pull out and started to drive away from the airport. "So hows your sister Carolina doing?" Riley asked, as she turned to look at her cousin.

"She's doing pretty well, she will be happy to see you again. What about Chloe how is she doing?" Cassandra asked, Riley paused for a moment and then shrugged slightly. They kept regular contact whenever Chloe was able to get her phone call in. "She's alright, we keep in contact whenever we can." Riley answered as she looked out at the window and stretched slightly letting out a slight yawn, she was pretty jetlagged and they would be on tour very soon once everyone got in that is as well.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Massachuesetts, Eagle Law Firm (Dream)
Skills: Law

Tiffany sat down at the glossy table, waiting to hear the news. Having interned here for what seemed like years (but, in reality, had only been a year), she was eager to hear if she landed a job. Landing a job from your internship often spoke highly of you and this was one of the better criminal law firms in the state. They handled tough cases in surrounding states also, even jetted people off to tackle things in Washington D.C. if things got hairy enough. She didn't care much about that though. In fact, her mind raced elsewhere.

She looked outside. The town was bustling. People were moving constantly, going about their day. Unaware that in a week's time, the world would end as they knew it. Most, if not all, of those people down there would be dead.

She shook her head. What made her think that? How grim! The door opened and in stepped Damon Eagle, the eldest brother of the law firm. He looked no older than 40, but he was at least 50, which was impressive. He smiled at her and walked over as she stood up and shook his hand. "Miss Lyle, let me be the first to congratulate you on your upcoming graduation. Top marks in your classes? Impressive! Not to mention the wonderful work you did for us while you interned here. I think I can speak for all of us here by saying you helped us out tremendously." He had that kind of smile that made you want to smile too. He oozed charm.

Such a shame he would die within the first five minutes of the outbreak. Running from his home, leaving his 23-year-old wife alone to fend for herself. The jackass.

Tiffany grinned back. "It was a pleasure, Mr. Eagle. Thank you for the opportunity." Damon waved his hand. "Please, call me Damon. After all, we are going to be colleagues." Tiffany took the words in, but it hadn't registered. "Are you saying...?" Damon laughed, "Of course! Welcome to the Eagle team!" Tiffany shot up, huge grin on her face, and shook the man's hand again, eagerly.

As she did so, she felt the slack come off of him. She glanced down and noticed Damon's hand, still attached to her own hand, but not to his arm. She threw it down in a panic and almost screamed when she saw that Damon had changed. Instead of the handsome, charming man she was talking to, it was a rotting corpse. She backed up, nearly falling over the chair behind her. She glanced back out the window and saw the destruction. The fire. Buildings torn down, corpses lining the streets. She could almost hear the screams through the soundproof glass.

No, this was a mistake. She had this!

But it wasn't. This was reality. She knew it. Soon, Damon's corpse shot up, groaning as it lurched its way towards her. This was the life she knew now. Law would never again be her calling as she took off one of her heels and stabbed the man through the eye. "That's for letting your wife die, you asshole!"

He stopped, but soon, kept coming. Tiffany panicked. "What? I stabbed your head! You should be dead!" Soon, the doors busted down and a horde entered, all shambling towards her. Damon, in the same voice he spoke before, spoke again. "Tiffany, you should know. You won't ever be rid of us. We will always be here. Always. Your mind is fucked! Fucked!" He started laughing, uncontrollably.

She backed into the wall as the horde got closer. She wanted to scream, but couldn't. She wanted to run, but couldn't. Her one last thought before she could feel the deteriorated skin on her was....

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Doors across from Fitness
Skills: Pistol, Stamina

For some reason, once the bullet hit Beatrice's thigh, she only had one coherent thought: thank goodness I didn't skip leg day. The rest of her energy was devoted to gritting her teeth and holding back the scream, trying to do anything but focus on the burning sensation in her thigh. If she thought on it too much, any benefit shock was giving her would surely vanish. She didn't even know how much she was gritting her teeth as she stumbled backwards slightly, just barely catching herself against the wall. And then came her second coherent thought: this hurts like a motherfucking bitch!

The third coherent thought? Okay, I can't get down...Shouldn't get down... But she was sliding against the wall, and Beatrice forced herself to look at her own injury. She then changed tactics and gripped the wall with her free hand, forcing herself back up into a standing position, though she was favoring her non injured leg considerably. Any sort of bullet wound was easily a death sentence in this day and age. "A retreat would improve our odds of survival," Beatrice muttered under her breath. She had thrown her normal over zealous caution to the wind in order to help take down Eden and she had gotten shot. Lesson learned. Justice rules still applied and would only come back to haunt her if she attempted to ignore them.

Jack Hudson

Jack nodded at Ash with a goofy grin, lying back down and at first, it was incredibly difficult for him to sleep. Eventually, however, his mind started to drift off. It could have been ten minutes later, sixty seconds, or a few hours - he wouldn't have known the difference. But when he opened his eyes, he was back in Boston, face to face with his favorite half sister - Gigi. Her real name was Georgiana but no one called her that. Almost none of his siblings actually went by their real names - case in point, Jack's real name was Charles.

"So, is my little sistah gonna win Hockey East?" Jack asked Gigi, putting an arm around her. She was the youngest of his siblings and there was about a seven or eight year age gap between them. Gigi just rolled her eyes at him, taking Jack's arm and moving it off of her shoulder, causing her half brother to give a fake look of sincere hurt and wounded pride. "What? Ya too cool or somethin' for your brothah? Guess you think you're wicked smaht or somethin', huh G?"

Gigi smirked at him. "Compa'hed to you, I am."

"That's just stone cold, G," Jack scoffed, shaking his head.

"Nah, it's Cold Stones," Gigi said with a snicker, as the T stopped and they got off at Prudential Center.

Location: Eden: Hallway near Fitness Doors
Skills: Survival, Botany, Pistol, Redneck Engineering

Thana wanted to get back outside, there was kudzu outside and that shit was good for a lot of things. She would science the shit out of her arm if need be if all else failed. Thing was there wasn't time for anything else and she wasn't waiting around for Doc to do anymore. He had just off the blood supply as best he could and applied some ointment. She would have preferred a bandage, this wasn't a time for Neosporin. "Cover people," Thana snapped as she stepped slowly over to the wall and pressed herself against it. What the hell were they thinking standing in the center of a room. Hadn't her getting shot by doing that proof enough it wasn't what you wanted to do? Apparently not.

And then Thalia... what the hell was she doing? Playing bait? Well, if that was what she was going for, it worked before before they knew it they were under a hail storm of bullets from at least two different directions. Both Beatrice and Thalia took bullets. Beatrice was grazed in the left arm, Thalia was grazed on her right side at her waist. Alexander some how had not been hit at all. Must have been a Pulp Fiction moment.

Checking the corner, Thana spotted one in a set of doors and took a shot, he went down quickly, his gun spilling out on the floor in front of him. "Not happening. We finish this shit," Thana said as she pressed herself back against the wall. Retreating would just open them up for more. Two were down, three of them now had been hit. There had been more that hadn't been killed outside of the main building that were probably making their way in. They had cleared the bottom floor and from where they were, there wasn't much further to go on the top. They needed a weapons store and they hadn't found one yet. If they went back Eden could regroup - they couldn't. Eden could get to their weapons stores, they didn't have any. Their tank operator was dead. Either they took out Eden or Eden took them out.

"Someone hand me Gavins bag and anyone got a lighter?" Thana asked quickly, the bitch had an idea that would have made Zoie and Black James proud.

Alexander Polawski

Location:Eden: upper corner of hallway east of Fitness Doors, in front of Beatrice
Skills: Pistol, Suppression Tactics

They weren't going to get out of that building alive, not without taking out every last one of the Edenites still littering the clubhouse like rats scurrying around the deep tunnels in the jungle. Every fiber and instinct in Alexander's soldierly mind ordered him to pull out of the engagement while they still had time. But both Thalia and Thana were right, to his and undoubtedly Beatrice's annoyance; they had to kill the Edenites, or else they would be at their mercy as soon as they went on the retreat. They didn't have the option of yelling "Broken Arrow!" over the radio and have the Huey's evac them. No, they had to stand the fight.

Alexander felt the world pass in slow motion. First the shots flew past him and hit Thalia and Beatrice, leaving him unharmed for the moment. It was like a bad dream, a nightmare, The Nightmare. Where he saw everyone around him getting gunned down by unseen NVA, VC and gun-wielding civilians, while he himself was left helpless in the middle. This was The Nightmare, his life on repeat like a broken record. And he was the broken record. No, they had to finish this before it came to get the better of them.

Another Edenite got taken down by Thana, but there were still more down the hallway. Alexander aimed the Beretta down at where he thought the Edenites were, quickly making his way in front of Beatrice to cover her. "Lighter?" Alexander began to say to Thana, getting ready to put down a much-needed supressive fire. "I think..." he continued in a disciplined voice of a soldier, before pulling the trigger.

BOOM

"Aaah! God damnit!" Alexander shouted out in pain as the pistol just blew up in his hands. No bullet exited the gun, possibly a misfire causing another bullet to go off inside. Bits of burning hot metal shot out everywhere, causing Alexander to drop the gun as he swore his hands felt like burning up. But it was too late already, as he looked down at his burned and gashed hands, both of them in pain. A lot of it. A familiar pain. "Fucking Gooks...Fucking gun...fucking everything...Judith..." Alexander said through his gritted teeth, pain forcing every word through. They were screwed, done goofed, fubar, everything.

Amelia Payne

Location:Sharpsburg , Main st.(F11)
Skills: N/A

The TV watching was going quite well as far as Amelia was concerned. She got to watch a show about some factory for cars. She didn't pay too much attention as she had switched to reading a book halfway through. It wasn't all that surprising for her to switch from TV to book often. She preferred books and the show wasn't really grabbing her attention too well. She got bored after all the praise for cars made in that factory started and they began talking engine stuff. She wasn't a car lover so yeah. She was a book lover!

About an hour after that, the phone in the house began ringing. Amelia looked up from her book in confused manner before moving over to it and answering.” Hello?” She made a questioning greeting in confusion, wondering who it was. No friends of her parents would call this early in the morning and there was little chance her parents will call her from their work places given nothing big probably had happened to warrant it.

“Hey, Amelia.” A young male voice resounded on the phone, surprising Amelia.” Glad that you're up early, I didn't wake you up, right?” The boy asked.

“Nnn... woked up early for some reason. Why are you calling Jason? Especially so early?” She asked her highschool friend. He was part of the small circle of friends she had, everybody was calling him a nerd and a weirdo, but he was pretty cool guy.

“Well, I've been putting the group for a D&D session today. Planning to chill and play fron noon to the evening, wana join?” He asked, clearly excited about it.

“Sure, I will join.” She replied with a quiet smile and then they proceeded to discuss where they were going to gather. Since Jason was the DM they gathered at his place and he was living nearby so that was good.” See you later.” She called as she put down the phone with a smile. She liked their gatherings. They were all good people who gathered and no one judged her if she was more quiet than others.

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

The night pressed onward, as night tended to do. The occasional shuffle of one of the Dead passing through the area piqued the survival oriented parts of Ash's psyche, like the reflex of an underused muscle. Living in the relative safety of his well-appointed house in Newnan hadn't made him soft, not by any means. Quite the contrary, being in a place like that where survival of self and community was still paramount, but there were numerous opportunities to train, improve, and reflect might have just made him stronger for it. The loss of it all was still a raw wound and likely would be for a long time yet, just as losing his family's place in Virginia was a thing he still mourned, albeit less with the passing of time and the experiences since.

The years since the Outbreak had given Ash a somewhat improved sense of time. Necessity was funny like that. He could tell, give or take, the passage of an hour. He still wanted to get a watch for occasions like this, no doubt. One of those wind-up kinds, old fashioned, with a minimal of moving parts. Antiquated tech, even back Before, so the chances of coming across one that functioned was slim these days. Then again, even if he found one, how would he set it? It's not like he could pass by the electronic billboard at the bank and get the time from there, nor could he turn on a cell phone and get the time from it, either.

Still, Ash was perfectly capable of telling when his turn at watch was up. It was about time to get, or try to get, a little sleep. Tomorrow was going to be the start of a harrowing chapter in everyone's life. Supplies would run out. People would be lost. Hunger, pain, panic. Despair. Right now, they had safety. They had some food, water, ammunition. They were in good health. It was a better start than most had. That being true for the present, it was equally true that it would get worse. Sighing, Ash rose from the box he had been sitting upon, took a last look trough a crack between boards in the window, and turned to wake Riley for her turn at watch.

Ash knelt at the couch that the young lady had chosen as her resting spot for the evening. He put a hand on her shoulder and shook gently, trying to rouse her without stirring anyone who was lucky enough to be getting some sleep at that moment. "Riley?" he whispered, "Come on superstar, it's your turn at watch." Following this, he returned to the recliner he had appropriated for himself earlier and settled in, trying like hell to relax enough to slip away from reality. He clicked on the safety of his weapon and set it on his stomach, one hand still resting upon it. Eventually, his eyes did close.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Doors across from Fitness
Skills: Survival

The bullets tore through Thalia's flesh, ripping open two lines in her side. She grunted out a cry of pain before biting it short. Even though she could feel the damp vitality of her blood running down her body, Thalia could tell that her injuries could have been so much worse than they actually were. She had ripped skin that burned from the friction caused by two pieces of exothermically flung metal. Not even deep enough for a through & through, certainly not a matter for a wound spreader and forceps later on. One thing did irk the bejeezus out of her, moreso than the injury.

"That... was my favorite jacket, asshole!"

Still, she berated herself on the choice of tactic she had used that led to her and Beatrice's fresh set of hurts. It was a tactic she had used before to decent effect, holding her guns at the ready and waiting for the unwary to poke their heads out and into an obvious trap, just to ventilate said persons' cranium. Apparently, the people of Eden had seen this used before and instinctively knew how to counter it. Fuckers. And naturally, that was the cue for Alexander's gun to explode. Just peachy. Why in the hell would he pack an exploding gun, anyway? It frustrated Thalia to no end. Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to get into the subtleties and philosophies not letting one's weapon detonate in one's hands, seeing as there were still people trying to kill them. She didn't really blame them so much. She was trying to kill all of them first, after all. To hell with it. They deserved it.

Thalia's mind slipped back to Thana's words about a second before she got shot. "Hells yeah we're finishing this shit, Navy." she said through clenched teeth. Alexander wasn't in much of a position to react to Thana's request, but she could. Thalia's Glock slid into her holster on the small of her back. She sidestepped behind the old soldier, snatching Gavin's pack from him as he uttered a pain-inspired flurry of racial epithets and expressions of extreme disappointment at his present set of circumstances. She slid around the corner, behind Thana this time, holding the pack out for her.

The thought suddenly hit her about the same time as she slid to a stop - this was one of her favorite shirts, too. "Make'em pay."

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Eden, Hallway past Wraith and by Fitness Center
Skills: General Medical, Fast Reflexes, General Surgery

There were many things that Manny did not enjoy, he wondered if it was age that made him sour to things so fast, or just the fact that people were sometimes frustrating to work with. On that list of things that annoyed Manny were people who were arrogant, and this young woman who despite being shot with a high powered rifle, and decided to help an attack on a fortified compound with a band a fraction of the size of the compound, is refusing to let Manny do much more then stop the infection and slow the bleeding with his favorite belt. Truth be told, he mostly wanted a reason to get his belt back, her bleeding was slowed to a safe point. And his clothes haven't fit him right since he left his last community, his belt was his best friend when it came to fitting in his own clothes.

Granted, he was still worried about the girl's lack of care for her own injuries. Maybe the adrenaline was keeping her focused elsewhere. The firefight was still pretty harsh down the hall. He almost didn't want to look, but chances are more people were hurt and things were only getting worse by the minute it seemed. He had low hopes for this missing getting accomplished, granted, he was no master general. He was an old doctor who loved to target shoot. But thinking about it, if the battle here is a loss for the people he is with, he would be recaptured. There is to telling what they would do to him if he was captured again, they may kill him, if he is lucky. Or he may go into a worse torture room then he was in before. Though, what is worse then fighting people to the death for amusement of others? Manny new there was worse though, just with what he could think, there were a lot of things that he alone could do that could be deemed worse or more immoral then what he had gone through. Manny likes to think he would never cross that line, but thinking about these people, they would.

The girl asked for a lighter and the bag, Manny lacked one, but soon after a small explosion from around the corner, the other girl ran over to the pack the first aid kit came from and give it to the injured one. Though he saw blood on the standing one now, he was... concerned. She had the pack now, but no lighter, unless there was one in there. These people seemed organized, so that was good, but he wasn't sure how well that would be if they all died. "Look, if you're not going to take my medical help, I want my guns back. Something that shoots well and true, I have no intentions on going back to these assholes and seeing what they have in store for me." Manny had low hopes for getting a gun at this point, but they were low on fighters, and Manny wasn't the best, but he was a decent shot. And if he was in a position to be captured or killed, he would rather be killed then go through something worse then what he already has.

Location: Sharpsburg, Main st. (E11)
Skills: N/A

Raymond sat in the room as he started to go through all of the new leads that he could look into for the next big story, as he turned his head and looked to see a woman standing there. "So your the new guy right?" She asked, as Raymond turned around to face the woman and nodded giving her a slight smile. "Yeah, Raymond Mendoza nice to meet you." He said as he got up from his seat and reached over to shake her hand. "Nice to meet you as well Ray, I'm Kelley." She said as she went over and then started to look through some papers before finding the ones that she was searching for and quickly left the room.

Ray smiled slightly as he rubbed the back of his neck before going back and eventually found an interesting lead, he was assigned a corrupt cop case. And the lead did look pretty promising as he grabbed what he needed and started to leave the archive room and then started to head out. He had an address to a man who was his former friend and thought that he would actually have a bit of dirt on him as well. Ray got to his car and started to drive down the road and eventually made it about thirty minutes away as he looked around and then looked down at the address.

Raymond was satisfied with confirming the address as he then knocked on the door and leaned up against the side of the door, and rubbed the back of his neck. Ray then sighed to himself as he waited there for about five minutes, and there was no answer shrugging slightly Ray turned he would follow up later or steak out the place until someone arrived.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse. (E10)
Skills: N/A

Riley and her cousin Cass eventually made it back to her apartment out in London, she had a few hours to kill before hitting her hotel that she would meet the rest of her band with. "So how long you in town for?" Cassandra asked, as they both walked into the apartment as Riley turned around to face her cousin. "I'd say a day or two, before hitting Ireland next." Riley answered as she set her things down near the front door. Riley then turned to face her cousin, as her cousin's voice started to change suddenly to Ashton's voice, as Riley started to finally come to. "I'm up.." Riley said quietly as she rubbed her eyes slightly and whipped a little bit of drool away from her face. Riley did wish that she had a little bit more time to rest, but it was going to be enough for now and get her through the grueling day ahead of them.

Riley took a moment and started to stretch letting out a slight yawn as she watched Ashton making his way towards a recliner and a few minutes later he was out like a light. Leaving Riley alone with her thoughts as she got up and moved over towards the window Ashton was sitting by for his watch. She made sure her crossbow was right next to her, leaning up against the wall and her handgun in hand as she looked out the window. Her thoughts then started to think about her cousin's and wondered if they were alive or dead, and if things were just as bad as they were on the other side of the world as well.

Riley would occasionally get up and walk around the house, checking the windows occasionally seeing a few walkers here and there, but she remained quiet. She hadn't heard the radio go off since she had fallen asleep which either meant that they were asleep on their end or their radio was dead. When Riley was satisfied with her checking the other windows, Riley made her way back towards the window and sat down, she eyed Chloe's pack once more and reached over for it and started to look through her sister's things once more.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Newnan (Dream)
Skills: N/A

Tiffany was now back in Newnan, pre-explosion. She glanced around, noticing she was high up on the wall. She could see outside of their walls as well as inside. She could see everyone milling about, noticing a few key characters they lost along the way.

"It's nice here, isn't it."

She turned to face Zach again. She was getting a bit tired of hearing his voice and seeing his face.

"I'm not here for a bad reason. You can already tell this is a dream."

Tiffany nodded. "Then why are you here?" Zach shrugged. "I have free time now. I guess I'm here as a reminder. How often was it that in our time, the apocalypse was joked about, no one ever thinking it would happen. And yet, here we are. Or rather, here you are."

Tiffany could agree on that. She counted herself among that, never believing anything like this could happen and, here they were, dealing with it daily. "A reminder to keep fighting every day. You need these days. As much as you need food and water and sleep. Humanity needs to keep going."

"Are we ever going to get back to that though? What's the point of fighting for something we may never have?" Zach chuckled at that. "But you do have something to fight for. Friends. Love. A life without this. It can happen. Humanity is made up of fighters."

"Never lose the will to fight."

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Doors across from Fitness
Skills: Pistol, Stamina

Beatrice had to fight the urge to smack Thalia with the back of her gun, after the bullets grazed her. She had just gotten herself back into a standing position after the first bullet hit her thigh and having another wound wasn't helping her concentration. On the bright side, the injury wasn't nearly as bad as the first one. And it had given them an idea as to how many more Edenites were left - tons. But at any rate, if she had been killed from that course of action, Beatrice would've come back and haunted Thalia's ass. Either that or she'd find Ryan's ghost and sip martinis, taking bets on who would turn on who in some settlement. It was a toss up as to which she'd want to spend her afterlife on.

"...Please tell me you were trying to do that..." Beatrice muttered under her breath, biting the inside of her cheek to fight off the pain and eventually, she felt like it was something that she could push through again. She then nodded at Thana, but she didn't have a lighter and Thalia had already tossed her the bag. Given what she knew about Gavin, she guessed that she was intending to make some sort of Molotov cocktail. "...If anyone has a lighter, give it to her. That's more of a priority than finding more guns!" Beatrice snapped. She didn't usually raise her voice above an even monotone, but she was frustrated and just a little bit scared. She honestly didn't care if the old hostage was ripped to shreds. She wanted this fight to end - and ideally, to survive herself, as well as the few people she vaguely recognized and had decided to give a shit about.

Jack Hudson

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: N/A

Jack continued to sleep on the floor of the safehouse, curled up inside of his provided sleeping bag. His mind, however, was back in Boston. He was hardly older than five or four in the memory - and it was one of his first ones....

Jack ran home from school, barreling in the door as he saw his mother - a bit weary and thin - setting up the Hanukkah Menorah in the window. He never really talked about religion with his classmates and it wasn't a super big deal at his house. They celebrated most holidays - but Hanukkah was always Jack's favorite. He loved the snow falling outside, the lights all around Boston, the parades and celebrations (it hadn't yet occurred to him that they were mostly for the Christian holiday, Christmas, and not just Hanukkah). And then after Hanukkah ended, he'd get to go visit his half-sisters and step-sisters for a day. He loved seeing them - just not his father.

"Mama, are we gonna play Dreidel?" Jack asked, bouncing up to his mother who caught him with surprising strength and gave him a hug. "Sure thing, my little man. Now...I think you're old enough tonight, if you want to, to light the Chanukiah. Jack's eyes grew wide and his mother nodded, giving him a smile and kissing his forehead. "Now go finish up your homework first and then we can play, alright?" "Yes mama."

Amelia Payne

Location:Sharpsburg , Main st.(F11)
Skills: N/A

After the arrangements for the D&D session were out of the way, Amelia quickly dressed up in something to leave the house with, took her wallet and left after leaving a note on the fridge where she was going. Without wasting too much time she headed in the direction of the place they were going to be gathering. It was the house of one of her sort of friends... ehh game buddies yeah. They used to gather up a lot to play board and tabletop games, but she wasn't sure if she'd call them true friends. A normal friend maybe? She didn't really know, it was hard to decide, still it was good time to spend with the group.

On the way she decided not to pass by a grocery store since they were going to be pooling together some money to buy up snacks and drinks for the gathering when they were all together. Thus with a happy expression and mood she walked until she reached the house and rang the doorbell." Who is it?" A voice rang, it was the voice of Jason.

"Amelia!" She replied with joyful voice and he opened the door to greet her. It wasn't a complex greeting. Her just welcomed her in with a smile and offered her some slippers if she wished. Over at the livingroom the others had already gathered so she was the last one to arrive. All goether there were 5 of them including Amelia." Hey. How are you guys?" she called them and they nodded in reply. Jason, Amelia, Guy, Sylvie and Nate, the oddball group of the highschool.

"Alright people you know the drill, let's gather up the money and get shopping, we've got a game to play and dragons to kill!" Jason stated in enthusiastic manner, pointing imaginary staff to the ceiling. Amelia smiled and rolled her eyes and she wasn't the only one. The other girl in the group also did something similar, but added a facepalm.

"Yeah, yeah yeah..." Nate stated in flat voice. Nate tended to be the straightman in the group so he got shit done by reminding the others that it had to be done and not fooling around." Okey let's go." He added and handed Amelia the gathered up money. She was being the group's wallet as usual since Nate trusted her to not do anythign stupid. One time they gave Jason the money and he returned later after buying only bitter sodas saying they were on sale or something.

"You can trust me, I'm not going to approve of anything beside the usual." She replied proudly. The usual being discount orange sodas, colas and chips of varying types of course. Though lately they had started to buy cookies too just to sweeten stuff during playing because the salty chips were too much at times.

Eden

Location: Eden: Hallway near Fitness Doors
Skills: Survival, Redneck Engineering

Thana didn't answer, just taking the bag and squatting down quickly. She figured that nothing really needed to be said, at least that others hadn't already covered by then. Anyways she didn't have time to get more patched up or to hand over guns. Hell she didn't have his guns. She just said to hand them over, she wasn't the one to collect them. If he wanted his guns back, he could talk to someone else. Her mind was focused elsewhere.

Taking the bag she rummaged through it. A lighter might have made her able to do one thing but no lighter and what was in the bag gave her another idea. Pulling out several MRE's she got to work. Getting out the heaters from the packs and pulling her canteen out. She eyed Thalia for a moment as she scooped up a hand full of shell casings from the ground and shoved them into the top of the canteen, before tearing up the heating element of several MRE packs.

"Stay back," she said before dropping parts of the heating elements, as much as she could as she counted to three quietly. Screwing the top on quickly she look a fast glance around the corner before chucking the canteen as far down the hallway as she could. It wouldn't do a lot but it might buy them a chance and right then a chance was all she could hope for.

Pulling her pistols up she glanced back to Thalia and nodded. "You'll know when," she said. There was a moment of silence and then a slight laugh from down the hall, then there was a large gaseous explosion. The pressure from the MRE heaters reacting with the water had built up inside of the old worn canteen. One the pressure got too much it ripped the tin container to shreds, sending out the gas and tin shards and bullet casing flying in all directions.

It didn't hit any of Thana's group but it caused enough of a ruckus to make the Edenites freeze in their tracks, getting hit enough to make them drop their guard. It was a once shot deal but they had an opening now. Redneck Engineering for the win.

Alexander Polawski

Location:Eden: upper corner of hallway east of Fitness Doors, in front of Beatrice
Skills: Pistol

The wounds were hurting really bad, bad like a VC bamboo-trap, a 7.62×39mm through the leg or a whole weekend out drinking and smoking dubious levels of substances in Saigon, all with varying levels of quality. Alexander looked at his hands, as if simply looking at them was going to make them feel any better. He was thankful though that his hands were still connected to his arms, which he preferred after having seen that happen to too many young G.I.s screaming for their mother. And his left hand had taken less of the beating, having been somewhat protected by his dominant right hand. Too bad he wasn't one of those egg-heads with Ambidexterity, or else he'd have one less problem to deal with.

One of the remaining problems was Manny. Understandebly he wanted to be armed in what was an active comat zone instead of patching up them when they apparently didn't want help. Well Alexander wanted help, and Beatrice definietly needed it more then him. While nobody seemed to take notice of Manny's words, Alexander got back up on his feet and looked at him just in time for the Redneck Engineering to do its beauty. "Fine, but I'll get it for you. You stay here and make sure no one of us dies. Understood?" Alexander said sternly to Manny, hoping his absence wouldn't screw them over. Pulling out his 1911 Colt - which only had one .45 bullet left, which he sub-subconsciously saved for someone in need -, he was just about to rush back to their previous position when he felt something odd. Some strange sensation down in his pants. Was it...Was he that lucky?

Alexander shoved his somewhat good hand down his pants after clumsily changing his Colt into his hand, and fondled around quickly. It was the sort of thing that might have made concerned parents call the cops and grab their kids to get away from the apparent pedophile, in no particular order. Alexander didn't care however, as he fumbled in his pants one last bit and pulled out what he felt down there.

Manny's revolver.

"Here. You better prove to be one hell of a shot, old man." Alexander said while handing over the revolver to Manny, hoping that his next action was to shoot the living crap out of the Edenites, and not his people. Or else Mugsy would make sure that lone .45 bullet would splatter Manny's brain all over the wall.

Speaking of brains splattered all over the wall, Alexander was not done yet. A thought occured him, like a game of 'Remember the thing underneath the blanket' or whatever kids called it those days. The vet moved quickly to what remained of the bug-out bag near Thana's legs. It was painful, but it would be all worth it when he awkwardly pulled out a 9mm pistol with his burned hands. And that was good, because the firepower was needed. The Edenite halfway down the hallway was getting ready to shoot him, dead, in cold blood, you name it. And what could a crippled Vietnam vet do?

Shoot him straight in the head. It was painful, but Mugsy bit his teeth together tight as he swallowed the pain, and took the shot. How he hit the Edenite, he didn't know. Pure Lady Luck or God finally listening to the catholic mug-man? But the bullet connected, hitting him right between the eyes and taking him out. "Come and take me, you gooks! I've seen bamboo sticks filled with shit more dangerous than you!"

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

Ash was settling into something resembling restful slumber, trying hard to allow his body to relax and eyes to close. It seemed like an uphill battle, but biology had a way of making bringing things together for a man who had been put through a physical and psychological wringer. His concern for Thana and the others weighed heavily upon his mind, as did his responsibility to his people here around him. But his eyes did close after his turn at watch was over, and he did pass into a state of rest.

Oddly, in his state of rest, Ash was dressed like a 90's slacker, trapped inside of a large, permanent structure out in the desert somewhere. The interior or the structure itself was divided into living quarters and, curiously, miniature versions of differing ecosystems. He was being attended by a strange, possibly mentally deficient man who insisted upon being referred to as "The Weasel" despite everyone's best efforts to the contrary, and they were given the equally strange task of cultivating a crop called "Purple Sticky Punch". It seemed so distant to Ash, yet so oddly familiar. All of it.

Before he could make heads or tails of it, something from the waking world jolted him alert; a crashing sound that brought him to his feet. Bleary-eyed, if only for a half second, he thumbed off the safety of his weapon but kept it pointed down. "Riley, you got a visual?" he whispered. Hopefully it was just wind, an errant raccoon, or some other, mundane explanation. Leaving things to chance was not an option for him. Not a very good one. Ash walked quietly over to Jack's sleeping form and gave him a nudge. "We've got a noise. Could be nothing." he whispered. If it was really nothing, great. They could dip back to sleep. Otherwise, it was high time to assemble.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Doors across from Fitness
Skills: Survival, Pistol

The sarcasm that marked her speech over the last few moments dropped away the moment that she figured out what Thana was doing. Having lived off of MRE's for a while now and being Lola's tankmate during that time, she had seen a few interesting things done with the reactive contents of one of those neutrally colored bags of semi-permanent nutritive field rations. The grim determination that filled her earlier returned, and Thalia pulled herself to one knee, taking almost a sprinter's stance.

The explosion took her completely by surprise. She had seen that trick used with old soda bottles to great effect in crowd controlling Zeds, but this? A metal canteen seemed to be significantly more effective than a former 2-liter of Dr. Pepper, enough so to allow for Alexander to get a good shot off, even with hands that looked like they were brought to us by Stouffer's. She brought her eyes up, focusing further down the hallway. She slipped her Glock back out of her holster, again joining the Beretta in front of her, and rose. The tear streaked ashen skull painted across her face seemed to take prominence over her features. Thalia appeared as a handmaiden of Dama Muerte.

While the young lady known to a few remaining living souls as Angel would have preferred to close the gap between her and her intended targets, relying upon her talents as a close combat girl, the ranged firearm approach was much more practical. She saw two of them at the end of the hallway with surprised, blinking faces, and aimed accordingly. One after the other, the guns in each of her hands barked repeatedly, flinging metal down the hall faster than human reaction could account for. The Beretta finally fell upon an empty chamber, prompting her to take a more side stance and concentrate on her MSS issue Glock. It finished the job quite effectively, and by the time she stopped firing, two lay in pools of liquid maroon. "Naht done yet..." she spoke aloud, risking a quick glance behind her to make sure the others in her group were still standing. Bleeding but upright, she still had a job to finish.

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Eden, Hallway past Wraith and by Fitness Center
Skills: Handguns, Fast Reflexes

The girl Manny had just tried to fix up had more or less ignored him as he asked for his guns back, but she didn't say no? What really got Manny was that she was tearing apart an MRE? Manny had seen those around a lot at his time in his old community, but for the most part they were food items, he wasn't sure what she would find in there? He was trying to remember, didn't some have matches? Maybe that is what she was looking for? Then she started to pack some of the items into a thermos of some kind. "Isn't this a really bad time to be working on drinks and mixes? we're being shot at here!" She then closed the drink ware and threw it. Manny would be lying if he said he didn't chuckle a little after a moment. It reminded him of a Quote from years back he read. He didn't remember it word for word, but he remembered something about a pumpkin.

After about two seconds of dozing off, there was an explosion from down the hall that took Manny by enough surprise he almost fell over. "HOLY SHIT! What the fuck did make in your drink?!" Manny made a mental note to never let this girl serve him alcohol. By the time the shock left him Alexander had given Manny his revolver back. It felt nice, familiar, powerful. He felt stronger then he had in a while holding that again with his group of potential allies. "You wont regret this Alexander." Manny smiled for the first time that day. Things were looking good.

By the time he got to the fire fight itself several people from Eden have been shot dead, many got just as distracted by the blast as Manny had. He was glad he wasn't as close to the fight as they were now. He eventually took up a position at the corner looking down the hall ready to fire at anyone who showed up. "Ill provide cover fire, seems clear for now but we need to keep moving. We stay still much more they may loop back and surround us." He didn't know what numbers the people of Eden had, but it only took one to flank. With that, maybe there was a second team of people somewhere here to cover this group of people he was with?

Raymond Mendoza

Raymond leaned back in the seat of his car and turned on the radio and listened to some music as he waited for someone to come to the house. There was a mail truck that went on it's usual route and dropped off a few letters down the road, he leaned forward on his seat now and continued to look ahead of him. Ray started to get a bit bored, and thought that it was going to end up being a bust when he saw a silver sedan pull up in front of the house's driveway. Then he was a man come out of the car and then looked at the photo and smiled slightly it was the guy that he was looking for.

As Ray climbed out of his car he started to make his way towards the man before tapping him on the shoulder and then took a step back. The man turned around to face Ray and then eyed him for a moment. "Yes can I help you?" He asked as he started to pull a few groceries out of his car and turned to face him once more. "Yeah was wondering if you had a moment, to talk about your old police partner if you have the time?" Raymond asked the man eyed Ray for a few moments before sighing and waved him forward and started to follow him into the house.

Riley continued to lean forward slightly as she would occasionally take out the cross that Chloe had on her and gently twirled it around in her hand. She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed slightly, Riley was alone with her own thoughts for a moment as she contemplated on what tomorrow would actually be like for them. That's when she heard something crash on the outside which quickly got Riley's attention and got up to her feet. Riley leaned herself up against the nearby wall and looked out of the window moving the blinds slightly to try and get a better look.

Shortly after that Riley heard Ashton's voice and shook her head. "No I don't see anything." Riley said as she reached down for the wrapper of the MRE and tossed it at Tiffany's head. "Hey Tiff, noise outside, might be nothing." Riley said quietly towards Tiffany, she wasn't sure what it was outside it could be a walker, or a stray animal that just knocked down the trashcan outside. Or it was a person, Riley didn't know what it was as Riley reached for her handgun and kept it at the ready just in case it was a hostile person. Riley looked over towards Ashton, wondering what his orders were. "Whats the order Captain Tight Ass?" Riley asked, quietly she didn't want to use her normal voice in case it was a person and they wanted to shoot first and ask questions later.

Tiffany was just about to enter yet another dream before she felt something smack her in the head. She woke up with a startle, glancing around her as the others stood. Riley caught her up on the happenings, but she would remember her throwing trash at her. Tiffany stood up quietly and reached for the gun Riley gave her.

She moved closer to them. "It could just be the wildlife. We shouldn't go out with guns blazing. Perhaps only two go and the rest stay behind, just in case?" She whispered/suggested. Of course, this was Ash's show, and he had the calls. It seemed to her that this could be nothing more than a raccoon or something else picking through the trash. But then again, how often was it that they saw wildlife? If it was Walkers, they had to take care of them.

And then again, it could be something else.
