Location: Camp Mexico Beach

Weather Forecast: Dawn at 5:57 A.M. - Dusk at 7:41 P.M. - High: 87F, Low: 72F - Winds SW at 4mph - Gusting to 10mph - No rain - Cloud Cover: 26% - Visibility: 9miles.

Notes: Alright - with things currently as they are this is a shorter update than previous. Next round I will be pushing forward in some posts to start getting people ready for the funeral. We will probably stagger this so some characters will be a little more ahead on the time line than others - don't worry it will line back up quickly after a round or two.

Administration (A): Downstairs Medic looked over towards Thalia and Sally. "Gurney and board from the hospital," Medic said with a slight nod as he was looking over Alexander. "Whoa, take it slow," Medic added as Alexander sat up. "We don't want you moving a lot," he said before looking back at Sally who hadn't moved yet. "Rolo! Gurney!"

"Oh yeah! Right! Fiddle sticks!" she said before heading back out of the room and up the stairs. Coming through the door that separated the front from the back she made sure it was closed up right once Thalia followed her, if she was, before heading out of the Admin and towards the hospital. There she'd have to explain and such a bit but she didn't think it would be a problem. And Thalia could help her move things back, that was if someone in the hospital didn't do it for them. It was a toss up depending on how busy things were right then.

Back downstairs Medic shook his head a bit before looking back at Alexander. "We can get your leg back on once I get some x-rays. Just wanna check to make sure something didn't break, and doc will probably wanna scan your head," Medic said as he made sure Alexander had his leg and was comfortable as he could be on the ground for now. "Now just hold still and fill me in on anything wrong or hurting." Medic is pretty sure that Alexander is fine and dandy, that it wasn't anything bad with the fall. Just a slip and the man is fine. He's talking, he's seems to be stringing sentences together well, moving on his own, so from his opinion everything is perfect but the man has been at this a while and in this world if you don't have to chance it you don't. A few tests is probably the best best.

Gunny Office: Will update next round. It is as it left off in the previous round.

Water Repair Shop (G): Maddoc is off and gone by this point and the two are left alone to do their job. Nothing big is happening this round to cause any trouble or set backs - which is good. There is a gentle rocking to the boat that doesn't seem to be causing any issues right now, again good. So things are pretty much unchanged at this point. Lisa can roll again along the same lines as last round to see about being able to cut down on time. Other than that, keep moving forward.

Mechanics (K): Mizrahi looked confused. "Must ask Dawri," he said in a bit of a defeated voice. He was trying to figure it out and he thought that Ash might know. The man had one of those American accents. Yet he was telling Mizrahi that he was from Virginia, apparently that made a difference.

"What do ya need to ask Sparrow?" Volts asked as he came strolling back into the shop and caught the tailend of the conversation. Mizrahi looked over and pushed off the side of the door frame where he had been leaning. Volts unscrewed the top of his water bottle and went to take a drink.

"Ma tuenih bialkhinzir wal'anf walharara," Mizrahi said, glad someone who spoke his language was back around. Yet, what Mizrahi said caused Volts to nearly choke on his water.

"Say that in English..." he said. "I think somethin' was lost in translation..." he added wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"More turned up than a briar push durin' hog beatin'... Tesla say wrong," Mizrahi got out. Volts started laugh and shake his head. It took the man a few minutes to get it under control.

"More turnt' up than a briar bush durin' hog heatin'," the man was finally able to correct it seemed. It didn't clarify a thing for Mizrahi. "Muhbat jinsiaan," Volts followed up with. This made Mizrahi's eyes widen and him shake his head violently left and right as he held his hands up.

"Not what I mean, no, not that," Mizrahi said before turning and walking off. The man was quick to get back under the hood of the vehicle he had been working on. Volts lost it, leaning against the door and having to hold on. He would have kept on laughing, it it weren't for the fact his shin suddenly was connected with a wrench that was rather nicely tossed from under the truck by Mizrahi. Now he hadn't been meaning to nail Volts, just the wall next to him, but he wasn't complaining either when Volts yelped like a dog and start saying some rather heated words in Arabic as he stormed off and slammed the door to fabrication.

Outside of the talking, things in the Mechanics shop are pretty calm. The cleaning in the mens room is taking a bit longer than one might think considering the difference between the two - meaning the mens was far cleaner to start than the womans. Problem is because the mens is cleaner they store more in it - like spare parts. So having to move those out to clean and then move them back is adding to the amount of time that is needed to get it done.

Supply (R): Everything is as it was the round before after the old women exited the building. There still isn't sign of Auntie currently so the place is quiet other than the two girls in there shopping. Time is ticking away and there is work to be done before the funeral time get there and Amelia has to leave. This round though nothing happens, no one comes in to seek anything or to bother you two, no strange noises. All is well - nothing to worry about this round. It's quiet (Perhaps too quiet. O.o)

Underwater Garden (U): Now the water is murky but it always is in the gulf, especially near the shore. The waters of the Gulf Of Mexico are never what one would see in pretty pictures of clear blue waters. At least not in this area of Florida along the coast the way it is. I'm sure Cuba is beautiful this time of year. So swimming there is going to need extra caution as even when one is close up, checking on plants or moving things, it is still murky. Further one gets from what they are looking at the worse it gets. There is probably a 20 foot visibility under the water right now. The currents are there and you can feel them but they are not causing any trouble thus far. In fact under the water things seem rather calm for the time being. There are a few smaller fish darting about, nibbling at algae growing on man made surfaces. Some shrimp walking over kelp or along the chains. One or two soft shell blue crabs are walking along the bottom, which at this point beneath the pier is not far below you, twenty feet maybe from the edge of the pier and quickly moving to nothing towards the shore as one could expect. All is well - nothing to worry about this round.

Trying to get back into the swing of things was proving to be an easier transition than Thana had been expecting. It wasn't like she had had a lot of time before she had left Camp Mexico Beach in search of the others to get a real feel of how she wanted to do things. Things had gone so hectically with her trying to recover and put in her hours and do her interviews by those that were there and go through the military training they wanted done before someone was part of the community that way and more that when Thana got back she was worried that having to deal with the gardens was going to be overwhelming. Today it wasn't. How tomorrow went would be another story.

For now however Thana had someone that was working out well enough. He was educated, strong, and a decent conversationalist. She'd have to ask about this whole Sportacus thing in his file later but for now it was working out well. At least well enough until he mentioned sparring with Thalia and Joaquin and his sword arm being sore. It made her stop mid dip into the water and just stare at him. Her head tilting to the side slowly. "Oh you mean actual swords!" she said after a few blinks before laughing it off and heading under the water. Her mind had taken a turn towards something entirely different when the man mentioned a sore arm and swords. Even in this world a grown womans mind can still hit the gutter.

Under the water, Thana was moving on. As they had only snorkles today there wasn't going to be going all the way down. But there was enough to tend to where they were just below the surface. Baskets and traps had to be brought to the surface and emptied into buckets floating half way in the water to keep anything they caught alive until they took it to the Mess Hall later. Some crops needed harvesting in small amounts, trimming dead or dying bits off others. It was not much different than working above the water it just took more time and a lot more preparation to get things in order. Not to mention Thana going back to the surface to clear water out of her snorkel every so often and rest her thigh. She wasn't saying anything but the way she grabbed it from time to time or rubbed it made it pretty clear that she was just pushing through.

Pulling a bucket up onto the underdock, Thana huffed before clearing the water off her face as it dripped from her hair. "Bit more than I expected today. We're gonna need to run this up to the Mess and dump it there before we can keep going," she said as the water in the bucket drained out the pre drilled holes in the bottom that let the water keep moving when it was in the water but easily strained it out without them losing any food in the process.

Nikki nodded a bit with a laugh. "Yeah. Not all the time but when things change it throws her off. Well, that's not right. Shit. Okay, if there is like a medical thing and someone comes in and shit hits the fan Mary is right on top of it. Cool headed, she's got it. When things that aren't life and death change around her, she flips some. Medical being pushed back for a boat returning for example," Nikki explained as she leaned back against the counter. Popping a few bubbles she thought back on several times Mary had snapped on her or others around her at the time. She always thought it was silly to blow up over something like that and it made her wonder just how the hell Mary was a person that they'd trust in Medical. Then she saw people get sick and come in and saw Mary do her thing. If someone spilled a glass of milk, Mary was the last person Nikki wanted around. If someone was bit or shot Nikki would take Mary over anyone else anyday of the week.

Now, onto the old woman and their curiosity. "Nah, it's more than that really. I mean, it's their curiosity and shit but yer also the new folks. They've been watching the other couples for a while now. It's like watching reruns for years and suddenly there is a new Soap Opera on the TV so you just gotta see what happens. Pretty sure between you and Riley and Sparrow and that Captain guy those gals are goin' to be gabbing like its a Sunday social, or think that's how Sparrow puts it," she said pushing off the counter and looking around the place. Inhaling deeply it was odd how no matter how many years passed, any place that stored stuff for well storage all smelled the same. Even now, taking a deep breath Nikki was reminded of the old Good Wills she used to roam through when she was younger. Smelled just like this. Some things never changed.

Looking at the hat, Nikki smiled. "Hey I think it looks sweet," she said. Then tilting her head to the side she cocked a brow before shrugging. "Shit I would have picked the pageant gown in pink and wore that shit. It's the end of the world, have fun with it, stand out. Hell being alive makes ya stand out. Not smelling like a corpse makes ya stand out. And anyways that sun is brutal. The hat will be good for your head until the hair grows in some more," Nikki said before a light bulb went off in her mind. She got an idea. "Or we could rummage through the wigs," she suggested.

Manny enjoyed his time talking to Lisa. She was such a young spirit, who wanted to do so much with her life. He liked that about her. "I hope you get your chance to go see the world from... The Sea someday. I bet you would have a lot of fun with that." He made sure to stay focused while cleaning. He didn't want to hold her back again. When she mentioned that he would probably have to leave soon, Manny hit that realization pretty hard. The funeral... For people he had never met, other then the boy who died when Manny chose to let him die. But many? Had died breaking into Eden... and was the only reason he was able to get as far as he had gotten. Sure, maybe on his own he could have taken the first room. But then what? Get shot, get tortured and played with as he lay bleeding on the ground? No, he owed these people his life. The least he could do was attend.

Manny would still do what he could to keep his pace up cleaning. he didn't want to leave too much to Lisa. "So, have you ever been to the other communities? I am a bit curious about what interactions between the groups are like." He mostly wondered if they were as well developed as this one, or if they had more or less people in each, or total. Just... a curious old man. He also wanted to feel useful. What if they were under developed in ways, what if there was a way to help out in them? It made him wonder. "I heard there was conflict between here and one of the groups, but that had died down. But it was all given... rather briefly... If it's not something you want to talk about, or you are worried about explaining it, don't feel pressured. An old man like me just likes to learn as much as he can." He also wondered if he would be more useful to them then here. The medical team seemed to have more then enough people to manage, and even though he didn't get into the trade to be that kind of doctor, he could act as one in an emergency. Plus, he loved the idea of seeing what other communities were doing to survive.

Hunter Monroe
Location: Administration (Lobby) --> Administration (Gunny's office)
Skills:N/A

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hunter twiddled his thumbs as all the people left him alone in the lobby. Truth be told? It was weird. Outside of his own bedroom he figured he wouldn't be alone like this again... ever. But he sat, and waited as everyone left. Eventually, the man he assumed to be Gunny came in, and called his name. His last name. "I don't think the Monroe's exist anymore. Hunter is just fine." He said matter of factually. But he followed without another word. He held little interest in the rest of the building, as he figured the way things were going he would get plenty of chances to see it while he was here. Unless they shot him or kicked him out. But that was a problem for Later Hunter. He was eventually offered a seat, and sat. TO find it lacked rollers bugged Hunter more then it should. Through out the conversation he can be spotted attempting to lean in a way that a chair with rollers would spin a little, but he would catch himself the moment he found resistance.

When the list of charges came up, Hunter wasn't surprised. Hunter sat there, for probably a few minutes thinking over his answer. Not really sure how to respond as he didn't have a solid idea of what happened the night before. "nah, can't say I can deny them. Think the reaction is over the top but yeah I was late today. Got to clean the woman's room by myself." He left out his thoughts on how something about that set up had to change if two people had to be dedicated to a bathroom that apparently only one person used. Every week. Either not the right tools for the job, or someone's doctor needed to be fired. "Stuff from last night also sounds like me. So I wont deny it. Though I can't fairly admit to it either. Truth be told? I don't actually remember much of last night. And what I do remember makes... little sense. Though... people definitely seemed upset." He stopped, and took another moment to think. "Look, we both know no matter what I say I am in the shitter. So just do us both a favor, give me the punishment you plan on giving, I'll do it. And go finish my work. I'm sure you have better things to do then dealing with someone like me who's greatest skill is making enemies with everyone I talk too." Hunter felt like being blunt. He figured with how things had gone so far, it was better to get whatever was happening over with as soon as possible. As fighting things here, tended to make them worse.

His thought process was derailed a bit as portions of that day and night started ringing bells. "Did you... catch what happened between.... Nikki and I last night? I think I fucked that up. I think I said something.... stupid. Something bad. And... did... I hurt her? Like..." He stopped. Not sure how to finish his question. Sure, he was here because he was in trouble. But what better way to figure out what you did wrong then to ask the person giving out the punishment? "I need to know what happened... so I can... try to make things better." He realized with that thought though, even a proper apology probably wouldn't help. At most, it would only show he felt bad about what he did, and would take steps to not do it again. But, he needed to know exactly what he did.

Ash Holloway

As much as Ash wanted to do a good job cleaning the bathroom and move on to the next job, it seemed that fate had other plans for him. Now technically, he could have just ignored the remainder of the conversation as it was going on and continue with his task, but the underlying truth of the situation continued to be that he needed to assimilate into this settlement as best as possible. That meant opening himself up to conversation with people he wouldn't have had a reason to trust two weeks prior. Less than. But even as he wanted to participate in this verbal exchange, he would have to somehow figure out the subtle differences that were applied to language when it shifted from South Georgia English to Arabic to standard American English, back to Arabic and finally spit back out in a slightly more recognizable form.

This was his life now.

Still, it made sense to him a little more, overhearing the suddenly slightly different translation. Hog heating, and turned up, not tuned. Not to mention briar bush was the established noun here. But as the conversation had skipped merrily along without any further notice paid to Ash whatsoever, including a somewhat off-label use of a wrench on Volts in return for taking a little too much pleasure in whatever they were communicating between one another in a language he might recognize but not actually speak a word of, Ash saw the wisdom in continuing with his work. As it was, the only other person in the room with whom he might converse now was under a truck, minus his wrench.

Fine. One detour. With a sigh, Ash exited the bathroom and walked over to the door Volts was leaning on just a moment ago. He bent down and retrieved Mizrahi's wrench, then walked it back over to the truck he was working on. Ash didn't speak a word, he simply set the hand tool down on the floor within reach of the man with a soft click, then returned to the bathroom to clean.

Once more, moving things out into the main room, scrubbing and polishing the areas around where said things used to be, dusting off the selfsame things and wiping them down, then moving them back. It was monotonous, but honest enough labor. Ash's period of relative silence was enough to give him passing thoughts. One of which involved him being able to contribute to the community in a manner more in line with his zones of competence. CMB had to go through their vetting processes and weed out the undesirable elements from joining them on a more permanent basis. It was the wiser call, he supposed. So he pushed more minutes forward with his duties, making the men's room a safer place for humanity. And storage. Safe storage was important.

Well, Thalia did tell them to let her know if she could do anything. As if on cue, the medic named Medic called for a gurney. Granted, he had mentioned something else just beforehand, but she didn't have a clue what the hell a "Rolo" was, let alone where to find one in a pinch. This was unfamiliar ground, after all. It wasn't until someone very nearby actually yelled Fiddlesticks that she understood what Medic had called for, and from whom. Rolodex. Of course, the possible medical emergency aside, Thalia was curious as hell about a lady who would actually use Fiddlesticks an an exclamation. Maybe this more nonchalant measure of thinking was due to the fact that Alexander was mostly ambulatory and speaking, despite his sudden and epic bout of horizontalness. he was probably fine. Out in the world she'd have likely mumbled something about walking it off, as injuries that slowed you down usually meant death. But in here they could take some precautions.

Though she had been made aware that Medic wasn't specifically speaking with her, Thalia nonetheless acted as if he was, moving seamlessly from a kneeling position to standing and making for the door behind the local woman. "Ahright, I'm ahn it," she answered back to Medic, tossing it back over her shoulder as she moved. It surprised her a little that she would make a move to grab a gurney in this place for a guy who she figured was okay enough in the first place. Even though she had no idea where they might be, let alone the route to their medical facilities at all. She must have been bored. "Gaht your six," she explained to Rolodex, following along and walking outside eventually as their little adventure continued.

Then the strangest thing happened. Once she hit the less artificial air of the sunny outdoors, something crystallized in Thalia's thoughts. As if just having some down time from working out the problem was all she needed to figure it out, the answer to that god damn riddle she had stuck in her pocket became evident. Still following along, she reached into her pocket and brought out the written copy, shaking her hand to get it open. "Nnn," she enunciated, in a manner of speaking. Yeah, the answer in mind seemed to fit. She was still following along as urgently as the situation called for, but the question left her lips nonetheless, Hey ah, Miss... Dex?" Rolo Dex, Miss Dex - it fit well enough in her head. "Mexico Beach gaht any 'One Way' street signs in it? Wheah'd I find something like that?"

β€žOh…” She made a sound of realization as Nikki explained the way the old ladies probably viewed her and Riley. Amelia was quiet for a moment then let out a rare chuckle.” I suppose we are the new show in town then. Not sure they will find us as interesting as a soap opera though.” She smiled and was a a rather good mood. It was true that she and Riley were going steady for a while now and she was so glad for it.” Mmmm… I guess I will be learning how to play cards today.” Amelia thought aloud. There were a lot of activities to spend your free time it seemed. It seemed there would be a good variety to choose from and it won’t be getting stale for a while at least.

β€œI like the hat very much, no need for a wig, thank you!” Amelia quickly fired out a statement as she gripped the hat and put it on, holding it in place, clearly refusing to put on a wig in a bit of a comical manner. It was an attempt at a humor given the situation. She smiled at Nikki and quickly folded the clothing she wore until now.” Well I don’t like bright colors to begin with, so this gray dress serves me perfectly.” She explained that it was mostly because of personal preference.” And I suppose you are right there. It’s just that out there on the roads, you cannot allow yourself to show any weakness so stuff that stands out or is in the way is usually a bad thing when you can expect walkers to sneak up on you at all times even when you rest.” She sighed and moved the hat about to set it better. It felt odd on her head right now since the hair was slowly growing, but she supposed once she gets some hair going, it’d look better.” So what do I do with my old clothes now? I suppose they should be brought to be cleaned.”

β€œMm, once more thank you for this.” She added with a smile also looking around the place and all the things set about it.” I suppose we should be returning to work now, don’t want you to get in trouble for spending all this time to help me. I need to work extra hard had to make up for this and the fact I will be leaving soon!” Amelia said with serious voice and conviction.” So now that we ran the papers before lunch, what do we have to do now? Check more lists… or?”

Lisa looked at Manny as they were working and he brought up the topic of other settlements. She rose an eyebrow and thought for a bit.” Not really.” Was her simple reply that came pretty fast.” Since I’ve come to this place, I’ve rarely went outside unless on duty. As for the other settlements, never had the opportunity to.” She shrugged as she cleaned the room in the boat. As the man mentioned a conflict she just shrugged.” Mmm not sure what exactly I can tell you about that. Honestly not sure on the details myself, you want the specifics you can try the General or Gunny. Or SB if she’s in a good mood.” She chuckled.

With her piece said, she focused on the boat once more. The thing was rocking gently which wasn’t unusual and it wasn’t too bad, at least it wasn’t interfering with clean up. What’s more after the initial period of once more getting used to it, work was actually going smoothly. She felt that in fact they might get done here earlier than initial estimates! Lisa smiled, she liked it when work was going great.

β€œAnyhow, yeah I actually don’t know much about the conflict as I said. Not sure it matters that much right now though, it’s already settled.” Lisa stated and looked at Manny.” Why are you asking about that anyways? Curiosity?” She asked him with calm voice and pointed at at a spot by him.” Focus on that thing. It’s requiring more scrubbing than the rest.” She added with a smile. Lisa was now curious why he was asking about that topic. Was he worried that a conflict might break out again?

Don't move around too much. Yup that was what a medic would have told him in a situation like this. He could do that, not move around to much. To be frank it was making him dizzy anyway, so Alexander wasn't going to question the young Medic. Dizzy enough to not have seen Rolodex in the same room, giving her a faint smile just before she and Thalia ran off. For once it hadn't been him running for a gurney. They were so kind to get it for him, his two good girls…girl and lady?

Alexander was still fiddling with his leg when Medic told him to forget about the leg, at least until he'd gotten some X-rays. He would probably have objected to being a pirate, after all he hated walking without it and knew he'd need someones help if he were to leave the basement, but Medic clearly had his check-up routine all ready for this moment. Anything wrong or hurting? Alexander sighed as he gave up his futile attempt of becoming two-legged again, instead focusing on what Medic told him to do. "Anything hurting? Yeah, my head and my bum, perhaps my back somewhere. Feels like someone nacked me with a hammer. But anything wrong?"

Alexander put down his leg and focused entirely on his old, worn body for anything 'wrong'. Broken bones or injuries, anything the old veteran could think of from experience. But nothing felt out of place, especially his head and lower parts. Alexander turned to Medic still keeping watch over him and gave him a slow thumbs up. "It just hurts like Hell, but nothing feels broken. I think I'll be okay. Thanks Medic. I don't want to be of any trouble…" Alexander continued to assure Medic, patting his one and a half leg to see if he still felt them, which he did. Yeah, this was far better than getting shot with an AK-47 in the jungle. "What's your name, son? I hope you're not running around saving us old folks and their asses all day?"

Nigel Cooper
Location: Underwater Garden (U)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Nigel was ready to get some more work done for the day, hoping to avoid anymore ill-mentions of swimming classes and the like - how ironic that thought was didn't occur to Nigel, seen as swimming was exactly what said work entailed. Unlike the heavy labours of the greenhouse on land he wasn't concerned about sweating to death like a lost Roman trader in the scorching Arabian desert. Swimming googles, snorkle and other tools to use upon the charge into the sea, Nigel was awaiting Thana the Athenian's orders for their submerged campaign when she gave him an odd stare. The stare when he had said something odd.

"Yes…swords…" was Nigel's only comment to Thana, unsure what she had thought he had meant with the sparring. His students from before the End had given him the same kind of looks, though he'd never really gotten a grip on what they had been thinking. Wooden swords or simple sticks? Short knives? Nigel couldn't remember seeing anyone in Camp Mexico armed with swords or spears like Thana the Gonzales had mentioned the night before, though the fact that Joaquin had told him to duel word and swords hinted at their existence.

With Thana's laughter sank into the grimy water of the Atlantic Ocean alongside herself, Nigel let her comment pass and moved onto the task at hand. Nigel put on his googles and put the snorkel into his mouth, unfamiliar with the instrument of underwater breathing, then went under too. Underwater Nigel was slowly growing from a fish out of water and into…something more fitting. Through the grime and sandy water he first noted Thana's actions, then began to copy them. Buckets lifted out of the water, the dead leaves and vines of the underwater plants trimmed, much like his mama's garden. What Nigel liked in finesse and experience, he made up from in strength compared to Thana.

He felt for her and her injury, its source still unknown to the Roman, and he paid attention to her as she hauled one last bucket out of the water "Want me to take it up Mess then? I can probably carry it myself, if you want to stay here and continue."

Administration (A): While Hunter spoke Gunny said nothing. He placed his pen down on the stack of papers in front of him. His eyes looked at the kid but didn't move or flicker or blink. It seemed Hunter had a lot to say. In the end, Gunny waited for him to finish before he said anything. Then when he did speak his tone was even and calm. "Up until this point nothing but bringing you here to speak to me has happened so I do not feel it is overreacting. Especially when looking at the fact you are stating you don't remember." There was a slight pause before he continued. "I do not believe you are making enemies with everyone. I do however believe you are confrontational and trying to keep people at a distance. This combined with being emotionally immature and making some grand assumptions is creating some detrimental situations for yourself that are full self-inflicted."

Sitting up some, Gunny picked up pen and flipped over a sheet in Hunters file. "This does make the decision easy. Removal of special privileges will do for the moment." Looking up he set down his pen and picked up his radio. "Wolverine, need escort for Monroe comma Hunter, from Administration to Mechanics." Writing down a few notes, Gunny then looked at Hunter. "The dog will be removed from your care until further notice." Turning the dial to change the channel he continued. "DoLittle need pet removal from Condo 32F." Setting down the radio down Gunny sat back in his seat. "And Miss Warren, it isn't anyone's place but yours to speak to her about your actions."

Medic sat back on his read and got comfortable but he stayed close and his eyes were still watching Alexander closely wanting to make sure the man was as good as he was acting and not abut to go into shock while they waited for Rolodex and the girl to get back with the gurney. "Hell, no ones asked me that in years. So used to being called Medic these days." Letting out a slow breath he rubbed his face before looking back to Alexander. His name wasn't something common and usually the end of a joke when he was older. But hey the guy asked and Medic wasn't one to not answer things when asked, he just didn't volunteer a lot about himself. After Franklin and Newnan, and everything before that, he was good to just be. Nothing more, nothing less. "Names Moreau, Jahosafat Moreau."

Hospital (B): Heading out of the front of the Administration building and over towards the hospital, Sandra looked at Thalia oddly about the question. That seemed to be right out of left field and she wasn't sure what to think about it. Yet instead of thinking why Thalia asked it she seemed to stop and look around for a minute, thinking on the actual question. "Actually yes, over by Desalination, there's a road that loops, it's got them," she said. "Ain't that something?" she half asked, half pondered before heading back towards the hospital. It wasn't actually something she had wondered about before but as far as she could remember that was the only place in town she had seen them. Or at least remembered seeing them.

Getting close to the door, it swung open and Roy stopped, stepping aside and holding it open. "Rolo," he said as he hooked his radio back on his belt.

"Hey darlin'," she said walking past him and into the building itself. Roy held the door open for Thalia and waited for her to pass before he let go and started walking towards Admin.

Inside the hospital, Mary was standing at reception going over some paperwork with the desk clerk there and looked up oddly and a bit miffed as Rolodex came rushing over. "Need a gurney, quick."

"Oh hell no Sandy, last time I let you have one you used it for gurney races down the main street after dark. We had to set a broken leg and pop a shoulder back into place after it, it's driver, and it's rider crashing into the Generals gold cart!" Marry stated flatly as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Sandy gave the most fake innocent smile. "Why darlin' I was just tryin' to liven up the place and as much fun as it would be to do again I need it fer an actual emergency. Alexander, that new fella with cute smile, well he fell and Jo told me to get one." Mary didn't seem to be buying it. "I swear, just ask her," she said motioning towards Thalia. Mary's eyes darted towards Angel and she tilted her head to the side.

Water Repair Shop (G): Things down in the water repair shop are going excellent. Lisa is on top of things and was able to shave some time off the completion. Combined with rolls made this round she is doing well in teaching and Manny is doing well picking up on the process quickly. More time has been shaved off and everything is going smoothly. So much in fact that the smell is airing out much quicker than expected which is making dealing with all of it much easier. Lisa can once again make a roll to see about shaving another 15 minutes off the time. Keep this up and they will most likely be done before Manny needs to leave to get cleaned up and ready for the funeral.

Mechanics (K): A "thank you" came out from under the vehicle that Mizrahi was under before the sounds of someone tinkering beneath it echoed out. After that things are running pretty smooth and it seems quiet in the shop. The sound of Ash cleaning and Mizrahi working echo's through the garage. One can every so often hear the sound of kids playing, squealing, and laughing outside.

The sound of gravel under boots comes through and before anything is said the smell of cigar hits the air. Standing there was Maddoc, chewing on a half burnt cigar before going and checking the women's bathroom. "Where the hell is Monroe?"

"Gunny," Mizrahi said from under the truck. A look that was half duh and half frustration washed over the man's face as he set down a broken part that he was carrying in his hand. Mizrahi rolled out from under the truck but stayed on his back as he looked up at Maddoc. "Late report had to be added."

"Fuck..." Maddoc grumbled. "Fix that," he said as he pulled out a sheet of paper and set it down next to the part before walking off. It was more like stalking off as he stomped with each step.

Mizrahi rubbed his face some with the crook of his elbow before standing up and going to see what Maddoc had left for the mechanics shop. Looking at the time on the wall there was still time before Ash had to leave, he shouldn't have troubles finishing up the mens bathroom before he needed to leave to get cleaned up for the funeral.

Supply (R): Remember last time things were quiet and I mentioned that it might be too quiet. Well apparently the dice decided to bite us in the ass with that and in the most amazing way possible. Now, for a bit things are calm and quiet in the place. It isn't until after Nikki and Amelia get fully back to work and are in the back organizing things that things take a dramatic turn. What happens? Well nothing for Nikki or that she notices at first. Amelia is the one that takes the brunt of what happens. Again, what is that? Well we aren't exactly sure. At least not yet. Thana righted herself and counted the buckets before grabbing a clipboard off the wall. She started walking down the underwalk of the pier, stopping at each one and counting more before making some notes. Stopping for a minute she looked over towards Nigel and smiled slightly. "I'll go with ya, I need to talk to Cook anyways about how the produce is turning out and what adjustments she is having to make with serving them. But could use the help to get them up there. But first, could you start moving each bucket onto the cart there once I tag it?" she asked. Se was pretty sure he would as it was his job to help her but it didn't hurt to be polite and simply ask the man for a hand.

Looking back down at the clipboard Thana flipped to the back page and started pulling off paper clips, once she got one with one bucket she would put the paper clip on the handle. "Tagged," she say before she moved onto the next one. On the list where she was writing she was keeping tabs of how many of each kind of either fish or shellfish was pulled out of the water, general size and appearance of the animal. Same went for the plants that were pulled out. How many of each, which batch they were from, etc. It was a lot for her to write down but Thana was trying to do something that had only started being done a couple of years before the world went to shit. She didn't have the resources people used to have. The most valuable thing she had to make this work was patience and details. More she wrote down the more she had to review better chance she figured she had of making this work.

Once she was done with all of them she set the clipboard down on the cart. Taking a moment she grabbed her head and turned it quickly to one side, it cracking loudly before she did the same thing in the other direction. Then it was her back, and fingers, and knees. After the woman was done sounding like she was a bubblewrap factory that had just exploded she let out a relieved sigh and looked back over towards Nigel. "Alright, if'n you'd push that up towards the Mess Hall I can lock up behind ya and we can get going. We'll probably be dry by the time we get to the Mess Hall in this heat," she said as she pulled the keys out and waited for Nigel to lead the way this time.

Nikki laughed a bit and nodded. "Yeah, well break up and date someone else they will be all over it. Gossip central. Can be funny to watch. They don't mean any harm, they are just older and bored," Nikki said as she started picking up the things that she had picked out for Amelia that turned out not to be the girls style. That was fine, she had picked out more than enough for Amelia to pick through and everything that Amelia didn't want to wear would have to be put back. She knew this when she was pulling own outfit after outfit. Though a thought did run through her mind that made her laugh, Amelia not being able to chose and just wearing ALL the outfits. It made her laugh to herself.

Hanging a dress back up Nikki looked back to Amelia. She got that, one couldn't appear weak. "Yeah out there it's pretty bad but in here, more of it's okay. I mean it's hard to get used to but if people don't know your weakness around here then if you end up going out again and are paired with someone, well it can lead to trouble. Don't want two Type A personalities who will try to lead paired up. Also don't want two people who can't lead out there together, then no one does. So a little bit of vulnerability is okay. I mean don't expect ya to do it right off but once you get comfortable, it's actually better. At least here. Out there, fuck that."

"I'd put them back on until right before you leave, so it doesn't get dirty. After that, I can just hang them up until your back and you can change out and back in again," Nikki said with a small smile. She'd wait for Amelia to change back into her work clothes. If not, she kept going. Either way, in the end Nikki would lead Amelia to the back to where they could get on with their job. Organizing things that had come in and while they were at it, putting together the supply carts that would need to be picked up later that day. "Mind if I ask about who yer goin' to say goodbye to in the cemetery?" she asked quietly as she pushed a stack of towels onto a shelf.

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Water Repair Shop (G)
Skills: N/A

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Manny found the conversation about the other settlements... Strange. Lisa has been here for a while, yet seemed to know so little about it. Maybe it was something rather brief and inconsequential so it was easily overlooked. But he found it interesting how so little was known. He would let her speak what she did know while cleaning. "Mostly curious. That, and the young boy in me still wants to go out and see the world." Sure, apart of it was wanting to see what he could do to help it since the most he could do to help here was clean, but that didn't seem fair to bring up at the moment. "I am also wondering I guess what interactions will be like when the walkers do finally stop being... well... Undead. I mean sure it may take forever, but at some point they must be done for? They still decay. So unless they hit a point that they stop, they should in theory all break down and stop being mobile at some point. At that time, maybe the rules about the walls will be more relaxed. And we can interact with those people more. Could be something interesting someday." Lisa pointed out a spot that needed a little extra attention. Manny knowing she was probably the expert here went and started his focus on that spot.

Manny made what progress he could in the time they had. Last thing he wanted was to leave too much work for Lisa. For the rest of cleaning he would focus on what he could, make progress where he could, and make conversation where he could. He felt like they were making good progress, and that there shouldn't be too much left by the time he left for the funeral.

Hunter Monroe
Location: Administration (Gunny's office)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hunter tried to make things work. Sure, he wasn't the best. But he was ready to face his punishment, and he was ready to admit he fucked up. Though Hunter might have misspoken about something along the way. "Oh, sorry about that. I meant about being late, not last night. But still, Ill take whatever needs to happen for last night." Hunter didn't think he went too far the night before, but clearly had fucked up. But if he had gotten into any fights or tried to attack anyone he had trouble believing he would wake up in his own bed. Hunter bit his tongue when it came to talk about his interactions with people. Though he had to agree with a lot of it. He was ready to explain the why, but held off. He had no idea if this was another person who would threaten his life if he spoke against him. He might not, but considering Maddoc and the General both were open to shooting him despite a lack of violence spoke, a lot. Sure, he had the outburst at one point. But he wasn't the only one that day. Even if his was... worse. So he kept quiet.

His tone changed when he brought up Izibel's fate. Hunter sat there, completely stunned. Quiet. And in shock. When the radio call was made, Hunter had a few things running in his mind. Apart of him wanted to reach over and take the radio, apart of him wanted to take the radio and beat the man's head in. A part of him wanted to beg. And a part of him wanted to run back to the condo before they could get there. After a few minutes, Hunter shook himself out of his trance. "What the absolute fuck is wrong with you. You could have picked any fucking punishment, and you decide to go for the one with the most emotional value?!" He didn't shout, but his voice was stern. "Why? So you can pacify me? Since your people's threats of having me shot didn't work? Since me trying to own up to my problems and figure out how to work past them isn't enough? I was ready for any punishment... and you decide to go with the most petty fucking bullshit you can think of? I came in Here. Ready to do whatever I had to so I could show I am Fucking Trying to not be a total Fuck up. And you..." He stopped himself. "What the fuck... is wrong with you people. Do you enjoy this? Do you enjoy breaking people down emotionally and mentally until they are your perfect moldable puppets that you can make take whatever abuse you want to give them?" He did everything in his power to keep his voice at room volume. Shouting wouldn't help, but since they went with the one thing he cared for here, he had no intentions of shutting up yet.

He took a breath and stood up. "You People Are Fucking Sick. Are Fucking Assholes, and are just..." He was having trouble keeping a strait face now. His emotions were catching up to him now. "What... the fuck is wrong with you..." His voice went quiet. In a moment, the last thing he cared for was gone. "Fuck you... Fuck you all." He spoke in a quiet, monotone voice. His fight burned out of him before he could go somewhere he regretted. "I..." He stopped. His words probably falling on deaf ears. These people had their way of doing things. And his way only pushed against it. They had the guns, they had the numbers. And they were fine using them however they wanted. He sat back down though. He had nothing left to say, and he was pretty sure anything he would say wouldn't help anyways. Thinking about it, what he did already say would probably make things worse. But hearing that they were taking Izibel away from him, was the last thing he had a care for. The way he saw it, he really didn't have much left to lose.

Ash Holloway
Location: Mechanics (K)
Skills: N/A

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

"Welcome," responded Ash coolly but politely, anxious to get done with his task for the day. While it might not kill him to miss the memorial outside of the walls for the sake of performing his duties to his new home, he might not forgive himself for some time. So he continued as best he could, the sounds of him scrubbing and rinsing, moving things about ad moving them back seemed to go on incessantly as Ash poured himself into the task set before him. It only occurred to him once or twice that this was not the work he had been trained to do, and it was tempered by the competing thought that no one was too good to clean a toilet or mop a floor. Humility wasn't something that Ash was particularly known for. Lucky for him, neither was pride. Work, especially with his hands, was. Not that most of these people would know that yet. Time would reveal that trait to the people in charge here.

When Maddoc entered the room, Ash was preparing to move a stack of stored goods back into the bathroom. Reflexively, he straightened his posture in the manner he might have when a superior officer entered the room. Ever the soldier apparently, even into the Apocalypse. He said nothing, merely waiting until the man left, and then returned to his duties. Still, something about the exchange struck him as odd. For the meantime he kept his thoughts to himself. It was nonessential to the task at hand.

Time passed, and work was accomplished with little else on the way of interruption. Before too long, Ash found himself staring at a newly cleaned men's room, concentrating for any detail that he might have missed. Light fixtures, dust on the top rim of mirrors, oxidation around plumbing fixtures, etc. He went back to quickly correct a streak of cleaner on a stall hinge, and then returned to where Mizrahi was working. The man was his supervisor, after all. "Men's room is done, sir." Ash wasn't exactly certain if this was a "sir-worthy" circumstance. He was a military man, and this was a settlement run by former military. Better to show respect that might not be necessary, rather than fail to show it when it was.

Being that his task was complete, Ash allowed his thoughts to resurface. Maddoc had come in with a leaf of paper, upon which was presumably written a work order. They had papers which gave them assignments slipped under their doors in the morning. Ash had to fill out a questionnaire in Quarantine. More paper. The had files accumulating on them, as he had witnessed during interviews. He had heard others discussing paperwork. As an engineer and a man accustomed to filing in triplicate, his intellectual curiosity was piqued. Maybe they located a stockpile in a dry, sealed off place. Or raided a newspaper printing factory. Maybe they even made it on site, though he hadn't heard mention of a facility as of yet. "If I may?" he began, broaching the topic politely, "The paper - how does this community keep stocked with paper?"

Thalia Carmichael
Location: Outside of Administration (A) -> Hospital (B)
Skills: N/A

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

"Desalination. Road that loops. Thanks." The lady probably thought that Thalia was crazy. Not that it mattered to her. Thalia had more questions, or rather, she wished to delve into the one question that she had just asked for further detail. Now was not the time. She had a starting point and a place to check out. Thalia would have to go back to that map, reminiscent of the ones in malls that proudly proclaimed that "You Are Here", and figure out exactly where Desalination was. Wandering around town asking questions when her time might be requested elsewhere would be counterproductive to getting settled into town, even if she wasn't exactly comfortable with getting settled in a town. More than that, this was just a passing exchange while they went to retrieve a gurney. A tidbit of information to process while they tended to more important affairs.

Even Thalia had to admit that the one major advantage to civilization was available medical care. Even someone to bind wounds and a safe place to rest was immeasurable. She was very much changed from her days as a Boston urbanite. Before, she wouldn't have imagined spending months at a time out in the woods, spearing squirrels and collecting crawfish for meals; eating on the occasional feral dog for a few days. Gathering wild onions or polk leaves to stave off scurvy in the spring and summer. Now, air conditioning bothered her. Perhaps one day, she might be allowed to exit the walls, even if it was just on an assignment. Wistful and possibly damaged as she was for wanting to be out there, being able to help Alexander by crossing a road and fetching something was highly advantageous.

That the door was held open for them seemed like an antiquated sort of gesture to Thalia. Polite maybe. But antiquated. If there was a weaker sex, ever, that concept was obliterated in recent human history. If you were still alive and didn't hole up behind walls the entire time with others pulling your weight, you weren't weak, regardless of whether you sported indoor or outdoor plumbing. Still, she was in a hurry and didn't say anything about it. The most regard she gave Roy as she passed by was a glance which turned into an almost predatory gaze. It could have been taken as suppressed aggression or annoyance, but in reality was more like the look she gave the buffet of food on their first day in Quarantine, which for her involved mashed potatoes and clam chowder. She dragged her food away away and attacked with bestial abandon. The tiniest smile came after she turned her head away from him and entered the hotel, proper. Nice looking guy. He might be useful for stress relief if she got too hard up. Fuck Hunters Guild, indeed.

The short discussion between Rolodex (Thalia had to remind herself to ask about that handle) and Mary, however, was definitely enough to provoke aggression or annoyance, both of which she actually had to suppress. Just not fully. And though it was aimed mostly at Scary Bitch, some of it was for Sandra, too, for the lilting explanation of her gurney races, as if this wasn't an actual situation they were dealing with right now. As attention became focused on her, the One Winged Angel looked to Rolodex and spoke the single word question of "Really?" She then looked right back at Mary and spoke in unwavering, direct tones, "Three people in this world I consider friends. One of them needs a gurney. If you don't want to get it, point and I'll get it myself."

Amelia Payne
Location:Supply (R)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

β€œThat is well understandable… like all the aunties and old ladies even back before the whole… world went to hell.” Amelia replied to Nikki with a nod and a smile. It was usually the case no, older people loved to talk about the events happening to others around them. Guess it was their entertainment and she couldn’t blame them for it, nor she had any intention to. If they wanted to talk about her and Riley they were all welcome, as long as nothing bad was being said at the very least.

Hearing what was to happen with the clothing and how Nikki proposed to deal with it, Amelia nodded in agreement now that she had the proposal.” Yeah that will do. Thank you.” She replied and scurried off behind the curtains of the dressing room to change clothing once more. It was a pleasant weird feeling to be back in a dress after all that time. She finished putting on her more comfortable for work clothing, folded the dress and walked out of the dressing room joining Nikki so they can get back to work.

It was a lot of menial work, but Amelia actually found it rather zen in a way. It was relaxing and calming to the mind, she didn’t mind the fact it wasn’t very energetic and activity demanding job. It made her calm to have something simple and repetitive to do and sorting out items and writing lists was quite much so. Suddenly she looked up from the things they were sorting and rearranging and looked at the other girl. She didn’t reply for a moment, making a reminiscing expression.” James. We got along well back in Newnan, can’t quite say the same for the rest, but I owe him at least that much.” She explained when something small and furry scurried off from among the furniture and the different things arranged about the hall.

Before Amelia realized It was happening, the thing had already climbed up her leg and only then did she feel and realize it! She nearly jumped as she looked down and saw… a pair of beady eyes of a mouse! She froze in place, staring at the little critter. She wasn’t deadly afraid of mice, and being startled was not a new thing in the world. She relaxed a bit, it was just a small mouse, not even a big rat anyways. Mouses were cuter than rats...” MM… Nikki, can you… get it off my leg?” She asked, not moving much. She was afraid that if she moves it might start climbing again. She wasn’t really afraid of it, at least not to freak out. Itg wasn't a dog after all, it was a small mouse with cute beady eyes. She still didn’t want to be used as a climbing playground for a random mouse though.

Work was going great. In fact Lisa found herself thinking it was going better than expected, maybe better than she hoped to. Many was learning quickly the specifics of the trade, likely from past experience, but I was nice to have someone else to help her out with it so the task was going smoother and faster. What’s more just to make things even better overall, the smell was going away rather fast as well! Good, meant they were doing a great work indeed.” We keep going like this and we’d be more or less done by the time you need to leave.” She smiled at the man. That was especially great news, because well… Lisa still had work to do back at Medical. The cleaning there had to be done as well and it wouldn’t wait till tomorrow. As soon as they were done here, she was more or less running back to Mediacal to finish the job there as well. Hell she had no idea why SB agreed to send here here before they were done with the basement in the hospital. Maybe they were going to be doing something to the boat and needed it in good condition first.

With a grin she tossed a look at Manny.” Well maybe you will get the chance to see the world then. Follow your dreams, but I think you will like it here also.” She chuckled and shrugged her shoulders.” Most people like it here and for a good reason. Still you’ve been out of quarantine barely half a day, so no worries. By the time a few weeks pass and you’ve met many of the locals, you will feel a lot more comfortable here. By then you will also have had the chance to talk with many of those who have been part of this place way longer than myself.” She added with friendly voice. He would certainly start to feel better and more fitting once he makes a few friends among the similar aged people in the camp, she was certain of it!

β€œYeah, well as I already said, they clearly aren’t decaying as normal corpses would. Without very indepth studies on it, anything we say here is mere speculations and guesses, but if they do indeed get worse with time and eventually it affects their mobility and danger and then the rules will be more loose. Until and if at all till then, the rulers are actually pretty secure and keep the place running in good operational state.” Lisa shrugged, thinking about the walkers she’d seen so far. In all honestly, she had her doubts that they will ever completely go away baring some miracle like superpowers.” As for how it will be if walkers aren’t as dangerous anymore… probably as it’d been before he zombies appeared. Ideally people will have learned that working together for a long time.” A bit of an optimist view on the topic, but she was a bit of an optimist anyways.

Alexander Polawski
Location: Administration (A)
Skills: N/A

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Alexander's old and weathered hands from years of experience slid down the side of his thighs, founding the cold basement floor for support as he rested his body and leaned forward. Who would have thought that getting the air knocked out of you really tired one out? Not to mention the ass-hurt he'd gotten. Ol' Mugsy could however let his body rest at ease for the moment, the young Medic apparently satisfied by his answers and joining the idle, yet formal form of conversation. "Believe or not, I know how that feels. Exactly. Me, I was only referred to as 'Sparky' for years back in my youth. Nearly forgot what my real name was." Alexander said casually back to Medic, growing a slight smirk on his face accompanied by a chuckle. Yeah, those were the days.

Ol' Mugsy was less certain how to respond to the name he'd been told. Not the name he would have picked for Medic, but then again Alexander had a exstensive record of coming up with bad names - the first meeting with Thalia, Lola and the TANK came to mind, reminding him briefly that soon he would visit the Kiwi's final resting place. That would have to wait for now, hopefully not too long considering he was getting an X-ray, as Medic revealed what his name was. "Jahosafat…did I say that right? Sounds like that Palestinian fella' before this shit went down…" Alexander mused audibly, hopefully causing no offense to the kind young man who'd come to check up on him. The fear that he'd said something bad caught up with the old man, making him turn to look at Medic again, wiping off his own sweat that had accumalated on his brow.

"Not that it matters. Anyhow, I feel okay enough, been through a heck of a lot worse than a simple fall. I hope I haven't caused a huge mess with it. Will they be back soon, Thalia and Rolodex?" Alexander asked Medic, waiting a moment in silence for his reply before looking down at his fancy pirate's leg, shaking his head for himself. "At least I haven't lost my marbles, that's something."

"Yeah, sure thing Athena." Nigel responded duly to Thana, himself pushing himself out of the water and onto the underwalk of the pier as well. Water soaked off him and his wet suit, even his almost bald head that had only recovered extremely sparingly from the Spartan shave earlier. He didn't mind taking the buckets on the cart, since that was his role for that day's work. Thana the Wise was the administrative force behind their little excursion to the realm of Poseidon, not him. So off to work it was, one bucket at a time.

Nigel put away the snorkle back in his bag, swimming googles dangling around his neck as he went for the first bucket of what the Sea had offered to the two mortals. It wasn't as heavy as the punishment of Atlas, though for the decently muscular neo-Roman he huffed and puffed as he lifted the bucket from the waterwalk and onto the cart. There were several buckets, so he was just going to get used to it. He couldn't help but stop to read the piece of paper Thana had attached to the bucket, curious as to what she had written. It was not a huge surprise really - an overview of what the individual bucket contained and how much. Going back to get another bucket, Nigel turned to Thana to remark something of amusement: "First the entrace-exam we took in Quarantine, and now this? I haven't had this much paperwork since I graded my student's last history exam. Nothing new under the sun I suppose?"

Bucket for bucket, huffs and puffs later Nigel had placed the last bucket onto the cart when Thana cracked like an egg. Several eggs. Suddenly Nigel became peckish for eggs, prepared one way or another. Did they have chickens here in CMB? Nigel shook off the distraction and listened to Thana's new orders. "No problem, should be do-able with the cart." Nigel answered her, grabbing the handle of the cart and pushing it forwards. The underwalk was slippery, but being aware of this kept Nigel on his feet as he pushed the cart along, leaving Thana close behind him to lock up as she said. "I mentioned me swordfighting with Joaquin and Thalia earlier, right? I assume that's not something the General and others are going to allow just like that? Is that something I have to work towards, as in the "debt" us newcomers have? Just thought I'd ask before I do something stupid."

Administration (A): Gunny sat there and listened to Hunter vent his frustration. The man seemed unphased by what he was saying. But at certain points his eyebrow would twitch. He had been made aware of the interview Maddoc had had with Hunter. It hadn't gone well. In fact the interview along with how Hunter acted in quarantine was why Gunny was against Hunter staying. Maddoc had put up an argument, much like he had for Nikki. The allowance was granted but with stiff regulations. Part of that being therapy. The other part was Gunny was aware it was made full and clear that no matter what happened the dog would remain within the town whether or not Hunter was here. Once Hunter was done, Gunny glanced towards the door as a knock came. "Come in."

The door opened and it was Roy, with Maddoc standing behind him. They both entered. Roy glanced around and didn't say anything. One could feel the tension in the air. Maddoc however wasn't as quiet about it. Looking at his younger brother the man started speaking, the language wasn't a common one even before the apocalypse. It sounds more like drunken Irish gibberish than anything else but Gunny seemed to understand and the two started to exchange words. Roy took a step back. Gunny words seemed to be reserved and short in any language, Maddoc was getting fired up.

Gunny placed his hands on the desk and stood. "Enough." One word, delivered simply and without inflection. Maddoc growled but shut up finally. Turning his head he looked at Hunter. "This has nothing to do with making people fall in line, it has to do with an agreement. Being part of this community means you understand it is military. Being former National Guard you know full and well what being lax in duty means. It means the first thing to go is special privileges. A dog is special privileges. Not everyone has one, not everyone is allowed one, they take up resources. They are a privilege. You losing said privilege is on you and no one else. It has nothing to do with emotional attachment."

The man was about to continue when a radio call came in. "Gunny DoLittle, have the dog and am moving to a foster home." Gunny picked up the radio. "I don't know why the removal but I knew I should have made a report..."

"Continue," Gunny said into the radio.

"Failure to clean up after the dog, had to call him back on it during lunch," she informed Gunny, and the room in the process. Maddoc's head jerked to the side and he glared at Hunter.

"Thank you, out," Gunny said before setting the radio down. Taking his pen he made another notation in Hunters file. "That right there alone is enough to have the dog taken away. If you cannot care for a companion properly you are not allowed on." Looking back at Hunter as he set his pen down. "You are on day 1 in Camp. Probation, day 1. Your file is filled already with marks against your attitude. You have yet to speak with most within the community or those that entered with you with any ounce of respect, courtesy, or common sense. You are curl spoken, judgemental, and refusing to see any of your own personal faults. I have a note here about having a problem with being told you would be shot." Stopping he looked down to double check before looking back at Hunter. "At least we are honest, I see you eyes, I know that look. You plan and think about harming people. We just let you know what will happen if you try to harm us. You are the far bigger threat."

Closing Hunters folder Gunny sat back down. "The dog was a privilege. You being in these walls was a privilege. You have no earned your place as others have. Years building a community that thrives the way it does. Despite others concerns about your attitude a special recommendation was made for you. One that is being reconsidered now due to your constant issues. Drunken disorderly, dereliction of duty, excessive vulgarity, waste of community resources, and more. One, two, three, four, five breaches of protocol and more, all within the last twenty four hours. One problem, yes we would have talked. Two problems, more duty added. But all this? No, this I will no abide."

Roy knew where this was going, he was already moving behind Hunter and not trying to hide it. Maddoc at this point was chewing on cigar and had his face in his hand. "I here by recommend that you Hunter Monroe are exiled from the community. This is not a decision but a recommendation. It will be presented to your work seniors, should they agree it will go before the CMB council, then Maddog and myself before being presented to the General. You will have a chance to defend yourself or plead your chase at the tribunal. For now, you will be placed in holding. Roy take him into custody."

Letting out a short breath Roy nodded and pulled his handcuff out. He didn't say anything. Maddoc did however as he cast a glance towards Hunter. "I wouldn't try anything kid..." Maddoc warned as Roy went to put the cuffs on.

"Hell of a way to get out of cleaning Rivets Restroom," Roy finally said. In truth Roy wondered if exile was the better of the two options.

Downstairs in the basement, the man that busted his ass and lost his leg seems to be having a lot better time with things than Hunter it. Medic nods a bit. "Yeah, you got it right. Odd hearing it again after all this time," he said as he picked a bit at his pants with one hand and rubbed the back of his neck with the other.

Glancing at the door he shrugged. "I hope so but who knows. Rolodex isn't exactly the Hospital's favorite person right now," he started and then sighed with a bit of a chuckle as he started to explain. "You see, last time she borrowed a gurney she, well, she decided to reenact a scene from MASH, the show from the seventies and eighties. So there was this gurney race down the main street right outside. She got like a dozen people in on it. And everything was going great until there was this crash, into the General's golf cart, and well, injuries. Since then Mary has loathed that woman with a capital L."

Hospital (B): "Yes really," Mary said frankly before listening to what Thalia had to say. After hearing she pointed over to the wall where several were lined up. "Don't scratch it," she said before looking over towards Rolodex. "And it better come back here with him on it and not you driving," she warned.

"Wouldn't think of it darlin'," she said in a overly sugary sweet voice before moving over towards the gurney to grab it. (At this point Rolodex will help Thalia move the gurney, rolls have been made, the two will be able to get it back to Alexander by the end of this round. You may take control of Rolo and bunny her as needed to help with this and make the post go smoother for this round alone.)

Water Repair Shop (G): Way to go people, everything is going along better than expected. Lisa will not need to make another roll for her skill this round. Both her and Manny will just finish up the medical room on the boat this round, at the very end of your post that is. (You won't have time to leave the water repair shop this round.) Next round we will move on, for now, finish up and get the carts loaded to move out so you can get the dirty out of there. Well done! The rolls were in your favor.

Mechanics (K): Looking over what Maddoc had left, Mizrahi wasn't paying a lot of attention to Ash. That was until Ash spoke. His head went up and he nodded. "I check," he said as he started walking over there. He had to, if it wasn't done right and Ash was cleared that was on him. Stepping in he glanced around, seemed the place was done. "Good," he said as he took the clipboard off the wall between the two bathrooms and signed off on Ash's work for the mens. Looking at the womens he grunted. "If not back soon, you must finish," he told Ash as he hung up the board.

At the question he motioned for Ash to follow him. "The Mill," he said as he stepped outside and pointed off to the south east. "Settlement in old paper mill. Trade with," he told Ash before checking his watch. "You, clean up, funeral," he said. "Check back in when back." It was about that time and Rivets had allotted Ash more time than most to get ready for the funeral. Granted, she better have considering the job he was assigned.

Supply (R): Thankfully other than the mouse nothing else seems to be crawling out of the woodwork. Everything else is calm and no one is coming in to bother you all. Now what happened with the mouse? Well read below for the rest of this area.

Underwater Garden (U): You are moving out and over towards the Mess Hall. Things go fine. You will be able to move the cart and everything on it, without any issues or spills, from the Pier to M5, just south of the mess hall, on the main road this round. During your movement you will catch sight of DoLittle with Hunters Dog as she walks it away from Hunters apartment and it seems she is heading towards the main supply building.

Thana glanced over at Nigel and smiled. She didn't mind being called Athena, it had a nice ring to it. "If I am Athena, then which one would you be. I doubt Sportacus is a real deity," she said with a bit of a smirk. She had read the nickname in the files and heard it once in Quarantine. She was sure there was a story behind that but she really wasn't worried about it. Considering from what she had gathered it was from the two older men who seemed to be what Jay and Silent Bob liked to refer to themselves as Hetero-life-mates, she didn't think there was actually a lot to the story.

Gathering her things she nodded. "Yeah, seems taxes went away but the paperwork didn't. Now if I could only find a twinkie that would be something," she said as they started heading away from the pier once everything was done and locked up down there. Unzipping her wet suit she rolled it down to her waist. It was nice to just not have it compressing on everything, granted on her thigh the compression did help some. She still had a long way to go in recovery. There were moments when she missed the pins in her leg. She was used to them by the time they came out earlier that week, it was like having to learn to deal with the weight of her body all over again.

The mention of swords made her smile a bit. "Actually Joaquin can probably set it up. At least with non-sharpened or wooden for now. At least until you and Thalia are off probation in the community and everyone is more at ease with new people having weapons," Thana said as she walked with him towards the Mess Hall. Her limp was getting a little better the more she moved it out of the water, the heat of the air versus the cold of the water made a difference. "It'll have to be supervised of course, run by Roy, and set up for a time and place but I don't think it would really be a big issue. Long as you follow the rules and such. Ask Roy, or hell even Major would know."

Catching something out of the corner of her eyes she turned her head and spotted DoLittle with a dog. She didn't know the dog but it matched the description of the dog Hunter came in with. It made her wonder why the vet had the dog but there were so many reasons, and it was only day one, that it didn't even cross Thana's mind that the dog was being removed. For all she knew the woman was taking the thing for a walk since Hunter had work to do like all the other new people.

"Exactly," Nikki said agreeing with Amelia assessment of the old ladies. It was exactly like that and it seemed that even the end of the world couldn't being about the end of the Sewing circle, or in this instance the Poker circle. Either way, people liked to talked, especially when there was not much else to do. Nikki recalled over hearing Maddoc and Gunny talking at one point, about how making sure people kept busy doing things that were useful was the most important part of survival these days. Idle hands and all that jazz. She wasn't sure she agreed with that but she couldn't fault the logic. Half the time when she did something she wasn't supposed to it was because she was bored.

There was a nod from Nikki. "You're welcome. Most everything around here is common sense, it is just learning what to do. Reminds me of what I think college must have been like for others. Drop off stuff here, pick it up there. Well college for the rich. Like, yes, Gerard, that's a good man, would you mind flouncing my bouncy!" Nikki said doing a horrible impression of a snooty rich person snapping her fingers in the air before giggling and popping a bubble with her gum.

Everything seemed to be going along well. Hearing about the man Amelia was paying respects to was nice. Not nice that she was talking about a dead friend but getting to know Amelia. She liked the woman and was glad she was assigned her. It was a nice change and Amelia seemed sweet enough. "Glad you get to then. It's nice to have somewhere to go to say goodbye." It was, Nikki knew this. She wished she had such a place to go visit to remind her of her dad. She had to leave his body in the woods in Alabama. Then again, the whole camp kind of did that for her. They were trying to get here. She needed to go fishing.

Thoughts about fishing though went right out the window when a mouse came out of nowhere. "Mr. Bo'jangels that is not how we greet people!" Nikki scolded the mouse. She went to grab it but that didn't work. The mouse was much faster than the young woman was, scurrying off before Nikki had a chance to grab him, thankfully he didn't run up Amelia's leg but back under the shelving instead. "Damn it," Nikki grumbled from on her knees. Huffing she looked up at Amelia. "Been trying to catch that fucker for three months..."

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Manny found a lot of enjoyment in the boat cleaning conversation. It was nice to be productive, and it was fun to speculate. He wondered in another life if he could have been a scientist? Then thought about it, and decided that being a doctor was more fun. And generally a lot more helpful. But to add more to the excitement, they seemed almost done! It was a great feeling of finishing a job and doing it well. "I believe I will like it here. I don't think it will be the same as my old life, but I am excited for it none the less. To see what the new world has to offer, and to see what I can offer it." Manny finished his area and moved onto what other areas he could so he could finish up. Lisa did bring up a good point about the Walkers that they had already talked about but over looked. "I see what you are saying. But it's hard to believe that they will be functional... Forever?" He stopped that thought, realizing the Irony of it and the situation. "Then again, it was hard to believe that everyone who died would come back and try to kill everyone. So who knows." He wondered what scientists were thinking when all this started, and the doctors who did study things relevant to this. They must have had a field day trying to understand it. He could picture someone he graduated getting pissed off about the dead walking for the sole reason of making his profession irrelevant. Though Manny didn't keep in touch with people from his graduating class, so maybe he got into a field that if he was still alive would still mean something.

Manny snapping back to the real world of thoughts continued with the conversation. "I mean I think people are working together pretty decently? Other then a few outliers here and there." Eden, the people who brought down his last community. The men that tried to beat him to death in the early days. The Outliers. "Even then, outliers can learn to get along. I kind of think they are scared at times, and that they don't know what else to do. So they try to harm others to feel brave. Or maybe they were scared before, and with the dead rising, they got a chance to feel strong, and the idea of that world going away scares them." Manny finished his spot, and moved on again. Not too many left. "In the last community I was apart of, we had a guy who when we decided we wanted to live, and not just survive, had a breakdown. See, he was... an excellent survivor. He could forage, take on the dead rather well, and I learned later that life before the world collapsed was pretty harsh for him. So the idea of going back to that was... harsh. He was a good man though, saved my life more then once. And when we were attacked, he came through for us as the community as a whole wasn't prepared for a horde as large as the one that hit us." He paused for a moment. "I think you're right though, people are starting to see that working together is the only way to get through this. To my best guess, for a lot of people it's just how they will work together. Some people adjust to that fact easier then others." Manny finished another touch up spot, and got ready to move to another one. Then stopped, to his best understanding they seemed to be done. "Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we just finished up in here."

Hunter Monroe
Location: Administration (Gunny's office)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Well that escalated. Things were happening fast enough Hunter wasn't sure he was getting all of it. Taking a moment to breath, he realized he could have explained his frustration better. Saying something now though probably wouldn't help. Plus, he was still pissed. Izibel was all he had left. And they decide to take her away from him, and dangle her over his head by calling her a special privilege? Hunter thought it, but wouldn't say it here. That was bullshit. Maddoc and Roy walked in, and he had a feeling where this might go. They talked, for a while in a language that he couldn't understand. He found that annoying, if you're going to talk about someone, especially someone in the room, have the guts to say it to his face. He soon learned, they would. Hunter, almost commented on the National Guard comment. Almost going into detail about how much of a shit show the Guard was in those early days. Then, the radio called in. They had taken her... And to add insult to injury, the reason he was late was.... partially included. Yes, he had forgotten to clean up after Izibel, and the moment it was brought to his attention he went out of his way to get it done before he went back to work, Thanking for the reminder. "Are you... What the... crap...." He said with a sigh, he wanted to say more, but knew he was already fucked. Anything he said now, would probably get him in more trouble. Hunter decided he no longer liked that woman either. Sure, it would be one thing if she was just doing her job. But the report she gave, was missing so much context of the situation. Sure, he fucked up. He could admit that, but it had been out less then five minutes, he went to clean it up the moment he knew he forgotten it. Giving only a third of the situation, is bullshit. He's wondering now if it would have been better to leave it so he could get back to work on time since he was getting in trouble for it anyways.

He had to admit, the list that followed was pretty accurate. Part seemed exaggerated, sure he was an ass to everyone, but he had admitted his own faults a few times. He could admit though, he could work on the respect part. He tried to give an apology to Nikki and Nigel during lunch, he is now wondering if he should have done that differently, but he wasn't sure how thinking back. Had he spent more time, he would have been late for sure. Had he ignored them, it would have been an even more of an asshole move. He wasn't sure what he should have done. At the time, a simple partial apology seemed better to start, to let know he knew what he did was wrong, but then follow it up later when there wasn't a time crunch. He couldn't figure out what he could have done differently to make things better. Then again, that was the past. And couldn't be fixed now.

The comment that got him, was that he was more of a threat to them, then they were to him. "I... What? You got that, from a look in.... What?" There was a ton in his voice. Not his usual confusion. He was feeling a lot of things in that moment. He was confused, as he had gone out of his way to seem none threatening to these people. Sure that had failed but he still hadn't threatened anyone since he had arrived. And he didn't think he did anything before his breakdown in quarantine that could give that impression? He figured he might have been missing something... He also looked at the comment in it's most basic. They had guns, and numbers. He didn't. Nor the strength to be intimidating. Bringing that up wouldn't help things though. He wasn't sure about the honesty comment. It was only honest if you included relevant information. Sure, he admits it, he lied to these people. He didn't trust them. He trusts Maddoc to be honest. But hearing how what happened before was diced up, and how Gunny was treating that information against him, he held everyone else here to that partial context truth until proven otherwise. Partial truths, were worse then lies. If that is what was considered honest here, then fuck them all.

Hunter held his tongue, the man was right about the fact he had fucked up... a lot. In a rather short period. Hunter wanted to see where this man was coming from, try to fix what he did wrong. But the threat of being shot, when he asked questions on his first day, and the partial Honesty that was given over the radio, made it hard for him to want to improve for these people. It wasn't hard to notice Roy standing behind him. Hunter got the idea. The question was how everyone would react to it. He heard how the process would go from here. In ideals, it sounded fair enough. But he couldn't get that thought of the partial truth on the radio. He tried to block it out, tried to tell himself it would be as fair as Gunny says it will be. When Maddoc looked to Hunter and gave his advice, he just looked the man in the eyes with a smile on his face. A smile that could mean many things. Could be taken as, You got it Boss. No shit? And the most likely, Or What? You'll shoot me? He was anxiousness though. These people scared him. To the point where he wasn't sure what the best case scenario was.

Maddoc was the most interesting person in the room to Hunter. Hunter trusted him to be honest with him. For better or worst, honest at the very least. And maybe Gunny was the same way, but the fact that the radio comment is being used against Hunter, Hunter is using it against Gunny for now. But Maddoc? What surprised even Hunter, he trusted Maddoc, he feared Maddoc, He liked the guy, while also hating him. He was the most interesting person, Hunter liked to hate. He wondered if Maddoc knew that his first threat to shoot him set the tone for how he views people here. Letting him believe they would shoot him on sight for speaking out of turn. Sure, with what he knew now that wasn't the case. But he came here with that in mind. Hunter wondered. The cuffs still needed to go on, if he was going to do something, now was the time. Sure, unarmed he couldn't take them all. But if anyone had a gun? Then he had a chance. That train of thought was broken by Roy's comment. He broke out with a simple laugh. "Holy Shit!" He said with a bit of a smile. "Someone here has a sense of humor." He decided Roy might be someone decent to know. He could laugh, and he was just doing his job. Hunter stopped his smile for a bit. He turned towards Gunny and locked eyes with him as he was cuffed. "You're right. I am an asshole with more faults then I can care to count. I don't know how to act around people, and I have been only honest enough with you all to keep you off my back. So, I'm sorry." It was sincere. Sure, he had his issues with these people, but, he also knew some of it was him being... him.

Ash Holloway
Location: Mechanics (K) -> M5

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Having his work checked up on was not a new thing for Ash. It just hadn't happened recently, and was a reminder that he was the new guy, unproven of work ethic as of yet. And though the sign-off sheet (more paper!) contained the names of the people actually doing the job (such as Nikki's signature on the women's bathroom, a thing which raised its own questions), Mizrahi saw fit to handle his. Probationary protocol, he imagined, or some other policy that he wasn't introduced to yet. It didn't matter. The approval of the job he did was enough for now; it meant that that their first impression of his work was going to be favorable, which was something he could build upon.

What came next spawned a little less optimism in Ash. The women's bathroom, which had been handed off to Hunter on the solo as a minor disciplinary action, would now be Ash's task to complete if the younger man did not return soon. Not having a solid idea about how administration ran things, aside from what the basic military protocol was for infractions of the type he was actually around to witness, he couldn't make any sort of solid guess as to whether or not Hunter would be back to finish the job. That being said, Ash exhaled and spoke a reserved yet affirming, "Roger that." If the job needed being done, then he would do it; hopefully it was be understandable that he wasn't going into it with an especial amount of glee. Truth be told, he'd rather be doing whatever it was Thana was doing, even if it involved the same sort of task. It was funny; being apart only since lunch and he was already missing her.

Conversation turning to his question about the paper, Ash was surprised to learn that there was another settlement near enough to trade with, and that relations between them were good enough for regular commerce like that to take place. It made him wonder what other settlements like that were out there still. Around Newnan, Ash was only aware of Franklin, the defunct one in Fairburn, and the hell-on-earth in Peachtree City. Regret still gnawed at him that he wasn't with the group that finally took that place down. But that was a digression. He could ask more questions at a later time. Ash had been allotted an amount of time to clean up for the memorial service and he did not intend to waste it. "Thank you. I'll be back as soon as I can." He hoped that Hunter would be, too. Ash left Mechanics at a jog, glad to be in the more open air outside.

He remained jogging past buildings, giving the occasional wave to people as he saw them. Most everyone in CMB were strangers to him though there was no point in being rude; all the same he didn't want to get into a prolonged conversation right then. Stuff to do, places to go. He did find motivation to stop as he got closer to his destination. He wasn't sure at first, distance being a factor, but as he neared Ash was elated to see Thana walking up the road in his general direction, along with Nigel and a rolling cart full of whatever goodies they were bringing from their workplace, he assumed. "Hey!" he called, coming to a stop nearby. "Damn, it's good to see your face," he continued, looking at Thana with a beaming smile. Ash suddenly held a hand up, explaining, "Don't, um... I'm disgusting right now. Headed in to clean up before the service. You guys?" He nodded to Nigel with the last inquiry. He didn't want to be rude to the man. Hell, even thought he was an interesting guy. Depth conversation would have to wait for another time, constraints being what they were.

Thalia Carmichael
Location: Hospital (B) -> Administration (A)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Thalia was beginning not to like Rolodex. Granted, there weren't a while lot of people that she did like in the first place. Moreover, the idea of a gurney race wasn't a thing that she'd be opposed to. It was the saccharin way she tried to gloss over the whole thing, coupled with the fact that it just delayed a medical issue. On the other hand, felt that she had an understanding with Mary. "Scary Bitch", maybe. Social intimidation wasn't something Thalia really gave a rat's ass about, and the woman had been pretty straight with her anyway. So she gave a slow, understanding, single dip of her head to the woman and moved to lay her hands on the gurney.

For starters, she wasn't going to be walking backwards in an unfamiliar setting, which objectively the entirety of the Mexico Beach community was to her. Her metal hand clanged down on the back end and she swiftly followed step behind it, gripping with her left and providing push with her right. Things she never had to think about, back when she had two fully functional limbs with opposable thumbs, had become miniature planning processes every few minutes or so. Maybe one day this would come naturally. The fresh wound on her cheek reminded her that today was not that day.

They had covered the first third of the overall task, that being Point A to Point B. Next step was, "Point B, Point A," she mumbled, giving the gurney a push to get it moving. A little louder, though without looking over in the direction of Mary, Thalia uttered a simple, "Thanks," before advancing to the doors, proper. Discussion past this revolved around only that which was necessary to maneuver the gurney and board across the way to the Admin building, inside, and toward the basement. "Ahright, stairs..." she said, though it was mostly to remind herself than anything else. She hooked her prosthetic around one of the gurney's supports underhanded and gripped overhand with her other, providing as much support as she could and leaned back a little, easing the gurney down the first couple of stairs. When she felt more comfortable with the procedure, Thalia increased her pace, though with a bit of warning to Rolodex who still had the front end.

"Gurney, boahd," announced Thalia flatly as they entered the basement room containing Medic, Alexander, and their overall unfinished task for the day. Hopefully nothing serious was wrong with him. Her initial reasoning for this was that he'd been through enough hardship so far, hacked off leg during his autumn years, and really didn't need something other nagging, long or even short-term issue that he had to deal with. However, Thalia would be a liar if she didn't also own up to the fact that she didn't especially want to handle the rest of this job by herself. At least the larger part of it was altruism. "What do you need he to do?" she asked bluntly, confident that her own First Aid skills were not on par with a guy whose callsign was "Medic".

Amelia was smiling as Nikki was talking then when she started doing a parody impression of a rich man, Amelia more or less lost it and burst into a loud laugh for a moment. It’s been a while since she had been so caught off guard by a joke. With the topic of dead friends, Amelia had only nodded. She didn’t speak much more on the subject, having realized that her last interaction with the man was also saying goodbye. It was not a nice realization to have, but time did heal wounds. It’s been a long time since then and the wounds of separation were long since dulled, albeit they still caused some pain. Sadly the world was not fair and it never waited for anyone. In a way to a degree she had accepted it. For now all she cared about was Riley and their new live here.

She then watched rather confused after the mouse appeared and the other young woman tried to capture it, calling it by name.” It’s not a wild mouse?” She asked with some curiosity as she saw it scurry off her pants and down under the furniture in it’s escape attempt from Nikki, and escape it did!” It’s your pet? ” Amelia asked, returning to doing her job, now that the little thing was gone.” You know, I can help you in trying to catch it, from now on… though it might be tomorrow, since I’m not quite sure how long I have left here for the moment before I need to leave.” She smiled and looked around the floor. If they wanted to catch it alive, it meant no traps, so she supposed they’d have to bait it out somehow. It would actually be a nice activity and she did want to help the girl.

β€œWell first will have to finish the rest of the tasks however, otherwise we might get ranted on...” She recalled SB from earlier and the fact that Auntie could probably also be pretty scary if they make her mad. Old ladies were rather scary when angry, something about that innate judgment glare they all somehow had.

β€œPretty sure what the new world has to offer is a variation of what the old one had, maybe with a few less bastards running about.” She smiled as she replied to him.” Which I will be quick to state that small fact on itself is enough of a cause for celebration in many a ways indeed. Granted there are still some of those running about, but ehh, nothing is perfect.” She chuckled and looked at Manny.” Everybody has something to offer and I’m sure your presence will bring a lot of benefits to the camp, you’ve got experience in many things by the sound of it and that’s always a plus. Besides dental’s important!”

β€œDunno, for all we know whatever is causing them to well exist might be keeping them operational someway we cannot discover. So yeah, it’s been years now and they still move, still, they are somewhat decayed, so it might just be a very delayed process. Besides time and weather wear down stone and metal, flesh and bone are way weaker than stone and metal, so given enough time, they would be affected good more likely than not. So the possibility still exist!” She saud in some characteristic for her optimism.

β€œMmm, psychology is not my specialty. You can talk more about it at the church.” She chuckled and tossed Manny a look.” But I agree with you. Besides if people odn’t like civilization that much, they are always free to venture out and find somewhere where others won’t bother them.” She stated flatly with some seriousness as she was finishing up with the cleaning now as well.” Also, yes, you aren’t wrong. We are done now.” She confirmed as she took a final look around just going through the mental check list she had.” Okey time to gather up.” She explained and started gathering up the cleaning tools and then the things they had to toss away into their respective carts.” Work well done, with two people it indeed takes a lot less time to complete. Thanks.” She patted Manny on the shoulder.” Seems I might just have enough time to finish with the labs on time or with minimal delay afterwards.”

"Know the feeling. If you prefer being called Medic, I'll stick by that. Sounds like everyone here has their own codename, guess I shouldn't be surprsied by the General." Alexander said in a friendly manner to Medic, looking up at him and smiling sheepisly. More than anything it was himself he was smiling at, the pain ever present but the situation feeling surreal. And wet. Alexander was still sitting in the wet spot in the middle of the room, whatever cleaning appliance softening his bum. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to sit somewhere else and be miserable."

Alexander placed his prostethic leg further behind him, moving back towards a wall by scootching backwards with his arms until he could lean his head back against the cold wall. Leaning back was in itself relieving for his head, but the cold helped too, like placing a cloth of cold water on your forehead when you had a fever. Looking up at Medic, he was still seeing no stars, planets or birds flying past him like in a cartoon, only hearing Medic start talking about Rolodox's rocky relationship with the Hospital. It didn't take long for the old veteran to figure out why that was.

Mugsy wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond to Medic's tale. Rolodex, or Sandra as she had introduced herself as, had seemed a fine lady when they got introduced earlier that day. So the thought that she had decided to run a gurney race in the middle of the street conflicted with that first impression. Alexander finally decided to chuckle at the mental image of Rolodex sliding down on a gurney, perhaps glad to imagine that it wasn't only the youth who could have fun. "If I'd said I've never done anything like what she did, I'd be a liar, but I get why the hospital don't like her anymore. She sounds like an 'amusing' lady, if anything. Not me though, can't remember if I ever watched that show back then…" Alexander pondered, cut short of elaborating on his own antics by the aforementioned gurney carried in by Thalia and Rolodex.

"Hey girls, good to see you both again. I'm okay. Don't think anything's broken besides my pride. Still hurts like a son-of-a…" Alexander began to tell the two ladies, halting his sentence as he looked up at Rolodex and finished the swearing inside his head - There was a lady in the room. Judith had knocked some social sense into him in the end, so he chuckled again and shook his head instead. "I'm fine, I think. Medic wanted to run some tests on me, didn't you? Hope the gurney wasn't brought in in vain, or what?"

Nigel pushed the cart forwards the best he could, trying to keep the pace slow and steady as not to tire himself out too quickly like an overzealous maniple advancing towards the Greek city walls. Step by step the two of them and the cart got up up outside the pier, sun shining down upon them and drying up the saltwater on Nigel's skin. "Sportacus, no…no way near." Nigel sighed in response, hanging his head forwards as the time had finally come. He had figured he would have to explain the name sooner or later, and though Thana had been -mostly- nothing but friendly to him, the origin of his nickname was still a source of shame for the neo-Roman.

"No, Sportacus was the pet-name two of my former companions, if I can call them that, decided to name me when we first met. A combination of Spartacus the slave-rebellion leader and that blue guy from the kids show we watched in Quarantine…I guess the name's stuck, eh?" Nigel admitted in defeat to Thana the Athenian, stopping the cart once on level ground and turning to unzip and roll down the wetsuit as she had. A deep breath of salty air and feeling his chest released of pressure, Nigel turned back to the cart, the look of defeat turning to a smirk. "Anyway, I suppose I would be Mars then. God of war, securer of Peace and Father of the People. No city though, sadly."

Onwards Nigel pressed on, pushing the cart with more ease now on flat ground and moving onto the main roads of CMB. Without spilling the buckets of seafood, Nigel was glad to hear that his little plan for sparring wasn't an unreasonable one. If Thana said it was possible, Nigel would give it a shot. "Roy or Major, duly noted. I'll get around to ask them once I have some time off. I figure knowing how to wield a sword isn't viewed as too much of an archaic art here? Never liked guns, to be honest."

It was then that noticed the same as Thana, seeing someone with Hunter's dog and taking her away. It felt odd, knowing how attached nervous Hunter was to that dog. Not much could be made of it, however. Nigel wasn't going to rush over and her the woman taking Hunter, leaving Thana alone with the cart. Besides she had a visitor in the form of Ash who made efforts to stay at a short distance. Given Nigel had already gotten somewhat used to the manure in the gardens, Ash wasn't too bad. "We're taking some seafood to Mess Hall. I'm just being Thana's little helper, doing what she tells me to do. It's like Babylon down there." Nigel answered Ash briefly, acknowledging that it was Thana he was coming to talk to, not him. But he appreciated being included. While they would talk, Nigel payed half-attention and kept looking around them.

Notes: Okay, gonna start moving things towards the funeral now. So that time thing might get wonky as people get finished up. Those attending the funeral make sure to refer to post to know if your character gets cleared to show up at the meeting point. Should be cleared for everyone to but make sure to remember how long each character had to prepare and get ready before being allowed to leave from work to get there. Ash went last round because he had nearly an hour to get prepped. Rest had much less time. So go back, check the older posts if you don't have it written down and act accordingly. Also, if you need to, go back through the posts to remember where the meet up point is.

Those playing more than one character - Watch yourself. Seeing bleeding of thoughts from one character to another. (As if they have some magical insight about what might be going on with another - This is considered a Meta and Godmod so be careful.)

Administration (A): Gunny nodded but didn't say anything. Roy however did. "The X.O. is a walking Human Lie Detector. Worked NCIS and specialized in interrogation before this shit storm. Why he is where he is," Roy explained as Maddoc chewed on his cigar.

"Kid, shut the fuck up," Maddoc finally said as Roy cuffed him and the kid made a comment. "Your mouth is writing checks your ass can't cash..."

"Checkpoint 2.0..." Roy added as he placed a firm hand on the kids shoulder as his other remained on Hunters cuffed hands.

"You will be in lockup until we convince a tribunal. That will take 24-72 hours to clear schedules. Until then, it's solitary other than your guards," Gunny finally said before gesturing with his head to get the man out of his office.

"That sorry was a little late kid, last ditch don't count for shit in this place," Ray sad as he turned Hunter and started walking him. Maddoc turned and flung the door open and stepped into the hallway. Roy lead the man out into the hallway, waiting for Maddoc to shut the door and take the lead.

Downstairs things were going better. At least partially. "Yeah, Medic works for me. And I am pretty sure General was a more forced thing. Story goes they called him Dragon, old day Army name but General ended up being what he accepted. Something about Dragon never sat right with him, don't know why." There was a slight shrug from Medic.

"Dude! Don't want ya moving until we get the stretcher," he said but sighed as Alexander moved. He had said he didn't want him moving before but some people did what they wanted when they wanted. Granted he couldn't really blame the guy, it was wet and from what Alexander was saying, he felt fine but still.

Letting out a short breath Medic nodded. "Rolo is a bit of a handful but she don't mean nothin'. But the show itself ain't half bad. I mean it isn't any Fresh Prince but still," he said with a chuckle before looking towards the door as the girls came back. "Thank you," he said to the both of them before taking over and putting the lock on the wheels. Then he remembered the stairs. "Shit.. Okay, wait," he said before peaking his head out into the hallway. "Rolo, got your keys?"

"Oh no! I ain't gettin' in trouble!"

"General said emergency only, man down is that, fork them over sugar before I wrestle them out of you," he said. She groaned but handed them over. "Alright on the gurney," he said to Alexander and held out both arms to help the man get on. Once he was, he motioned for Thalia to take the front and steer. It would only take one hand. "Down the hall to the right this time. End, then unlock the door. Another hallway, to an elevator."

Thalia can bunny from this point Rolo and Medic to push to the elevator and upstairs. It will put you out behind the Generals office. The group will make it to the outside of Admin by end of this round. (Will not see Hunter down the street.) Suggest Sigil and Onl get together and talk out any specifics. The two obviously will not get to the take off point this round.

Water Repair Shop (G): You two are done and can move out this round. You will be able to make it back to the hospital this round and put things away. Before you do though, Lisa will slip on some wet on the boat, roll against Dex. If you pass she catches herself without problem. If she fails, it is a simple ass busting and she will be able to get back up afterward, with wet pants mind you, and head out. Back in the hospital, Manny will need a roll on the Minor Fear Table. No matter the result Manny is good to leave the Hospital when the time comes and get ready for the funeral and get there by end of this point. Lisa is all clear in the basement and getting things put away this round. Once she is done with that, she will know to locate Mary to see what now.

Supply (R): Things are going good now in supply. Things are calm and the mouse has vanished into whatever hole he crawled out of. After a few DoLittle, who took the back streets to supply and wouldn't be seen by the others, walks into to Supply and rings the front bell. "Nikki! You in here?" she called out.

Amelia will be able to leave this round and get to the meet up point. She would not notice Hunter down the road on her way from Supply to the meet up point.

Streets of CMB (I4 -> L5): Heading out of Administration they started walking down the main road East. "Your file stated you were fuckin' military. You know the basic kid, you know the punishment for dereliction of duty. You keep smiling, joking, running your fucking mouth. I don't think I can help you anymore kid. Don't even know if your worth it. You said you'd do anything to keep your dog and you couldn't even be on time to work. That makes you a liar and a man who doesn't keep his word. This is on you, there's no going back now."

Ash will be able to get from where he is inside, showered this round, he will not get to the meeting point this round.

Thana chuckled a bit and nodded. Mars seems fittin', that's fer sure. And I prefer that to Sportacus," Thana admitted. She did and this whole old gods talk was kind of nice. Made her want to hit the library later and see what they had. She hadn't taken time to read in so long, besides paperwork. "God I need to hit the library later tonight, see if'n I can find anythin'. Wanna read up more now," she said before glancing over to Nigel for a moment.

"And nah, pretty common these days I would think, at least when ya wanna do things silently. Prefer guns only if'n I gotta," she said agreeing. Granted Thana didn't know how to wield a sword but she was damn good with a knife and hand to hand. Perhaps sword fighting would be something she could get into. Let her spend some times with Thalia and let the two catch up in a way they worked best for them. Fighting. It was how they first bonded, taking Eden out. She had lost Gavin that day, Thalia had lost Lola, but the two became friends over time. It worked. Neither were replacements but it was good to have someone new when you lost someone.

Thana caught Ash calling and smiled seeing him. That was until he stopped and she understood why. She took a step back and laughed. "Yeah, keep yer ass on that side of the road until you wash. Damn... Fergot how bad that duty was," she said before looking over at Nigel. "Thinkin' you lucked out getting' duty with me instead of that," she said motioning over towards Ash. She was about to say more when something else caught her eye.

Turning her head she spotted her uncle and behind him Roy. It wasn't until Maddoc stepped slightly to the side that she spotted Hunter. "What in the sugar free fuck did he do already...." Thana grumbled under her breath. She hadn't expected the kid to last and had been on the fence about him joining camp but she hadn't expected cuffs the first day. "Thinkin' we should get movin'," Thana said before looking at Ash. "I'll see ya after the service," she said before starting to walk again.

Nikki quirked a brow and shook her head. "God no, he ain't my pet," Nikki said quickly before snap popping her gum within her mouth and against her cheeks before continuing, pointing in the general direction where the mouse scampered off to. "Little bastard showed up a while ago, we set traps, everything. he keeps avoiding them or setting them off without getting hurt. Then just shows up out of now where. Ended up calling him that after that damn mouse on the movie The Green Mile. You know, the one with Tom Hanks in that prison," she added before grumbling. "I'll catch that damn thing one day."

Looking back at Amelia she laughed. "Hell yeah, tag team that damn mouse and maybe actually catch it. Who knows, maybe Lisa can set up one of her Deader Traps on the small scale. At least that would be entertaining," she said with a chuckle. She liked the idea. She also like the idea of not getting in trouble for not getting their job done. "Right, back at it."

Things from that point went pretty smooth. No sign of the mouse. That was good and nothing else was crawling out. Hearing the front bell and then a shout out Nikki quirked a brow. "Wonder what she wants," she said as she set down what she was doing and dusted her hands off on her jeans before walking towards the front. Coming out and spotting the dog, Nikki had an idea. "Oh shit what happened?" she asked as she leaned against the counter.

Ash kept hands in the air, offering a further surrender and wordlessly maintaining a respectful distance from Thana and Nigel. The reasons were fairly obvious. If he had enough time to, Ash might have preferred to walk into the ocean and let the tide wash away the rigors of the day, exfoliating away whatever remained with handfuls of beach sand. It had been a while since he had that opportunity, and while not always the most time efficient way of handling the task, it was thorough. That would have to wait for another day, if that was even really allowed here. His experiences on military bases told him that even though rigid observation of the widespread rules was a constant, every place had location specific protocol that was enforced for a number of very specific reasons. This place was being run, more or less, like a military base, suggesting inquiry through channels. Or in short, he was the new guy and it was better to ask first.

Listening to the condensed version of what the two of them were up to, this from Nigel, Ash nodded politely and risked a look toward the cart that they were pushing along. Of course, from his vantage nothing was immediately apparent, and approaching them was not in the cards thanks to the cleaning detail that he was put on. Not unless he didn't care about making them uncomfortable, which his very recent actions indicated that he intended to avoid. Ash was poised to continue a brief dialogue with the man concerning the connotation of "Babylon". Depending upon context, it could go a couple of different ways. Ash had seen Babylon years ago on deployment; of course it was referred to as Camp Alpha at the time. Something to bring up with the history teacher, possibly. While not knowledgeable on the historical aspect of Babylon, it did feature in military affairs, a thing which of which he was a student. Nevertheless, Ash decided to trust that Nigel was speaking positively. But this potential exchange was waylaid by Thana, making an observation of note, along with a very colorful, if pointed question.

Ash followed the direction of her gaze over to where he saw Hunter, escorted by Maddoc and Roy. Handcuffs were involved. He blew out a sigh that sounded a lot like an exasperated but not surprised, "...damnit..." He didn't remember being late to assignment was a stockade-worthy offense, at least not at first. Either things were a lot stricter here than in the Army proper, or something else that he didn't know about had gone down. Either way, one thing was for certain: Hunter would not be back to Mechanics soon, and Ash was likely going to have to deal with the women's bathroom by himself. Hence, the damnit. Trying for optimism, this was a chance to prove himself. Ash would take it.

While agreeing that they should get moving, Ash knew that Thana wasn't speaking to him. When she informed him that she would see him after the service, Ash quickly concurred with an echo of, "After the service, then." He quickly followed up with a well-meaning, "Take care." Additionally, he gave a casual, "See you around, Nigel," and continued on his way into the Officers' Barracks. He didn't look again in the direction of Hunter and the others. This wasn't his concern past what it meant for his work detail. Also not the issue of that moment.

Getting into the routine of things, or more accurately trying to establish a routine for these things, Ash located his laundry and personal hygiene supplies, stripped and stored his soiled work clothing accordingly, and hopped into the shower for a fast and accurate scrub-down. Rubbing a towel briskly through his short hair, Ash stared into the mirror and mentally braced himself for the memorial service. It was very late in coming, by about a year and a half. A flood of memories started to come back to him. Not all of them were pleasant. Quietly, Ash got dressed, his demeanor bending to the stoic.

Thalia Carmichael

Int he back of Thalia's mind, she imagined that this was a true life-and-death situation, and the multitude of little things that amounted to delays was going to get someone killed. True, this certainly did not look like someone was going to die. Or was seriously injured. But the seconds wasted with idle chit-chat and questions about protocol and covering one's own ass were starting to annoy. She probably could have dragged Alexander to Medical by now, on her reckoning. Or she was just being impatient. Or both. But once Alexander was on board, Thalia did as requested of her and lay her hand on the front bar of the gurney, directing it out of the door as swiftly as was safely possible.

"Right. End of hall. Unlock door. Hall. Elevator," called back Thalia, cementing in her brain the course of action as well as letting Medic know that she had it. Thalia's metal arm connected to the ajar door with a hollow clapping sound, pushing it fully out of the way so as to accommodate the gurney, and steered it down the hallway. Not too far away, Thalia could see the door, sitting there supported the wall around it, just as big as life. "Keys," she monotoned, taking her hand off of the metal frame and hooking her prosthetic to it, clicking into place like a medieval carabiner. She leaned forward to accept the keyring from Medic by the key necessary to the situation, then quickly opened the door and tossed them back to Medic. Her metal hand found and overcame the resistance of the gurney's weight and she continued forward. Once at a respectable clip, she switched hands back off to more solidly grip with her previously non-dominant left. Instinctively, she kept her prosthetic up and in front of her like a shield against an expected attack. The fact that her eyes continued to scan the area around her like it was a hot zone was enough to make one assume that she might have been left out in the world for too long.

Lucky for her, Thalia wasn't out in the woods for so long that she did not remember the generally accepted use of an elevator. Straightforward, you push a button and wait for a few seconds to minutes, depending upon the size of the building. This one was nice enough to open after the expanse of only a few heartbeats, admitting the stretcher crew to its interior. Back end first, so the lady steering had first crack at exiting.

Ground floor! And not soon enough, to Thalia. It seemed that she would have to reset her "City Girl" mentality. Or remember that it was in her someplace, buried by what she had become. Between air conditioning and elevators, plus other comfortable stuff, Thalia found she was actually a little uncomfortable. As the doors slid open again, Talia felt a change in the air. Less "basement-y" and more "administration-y". Which made sense. Still moving with speedy caution, Thalia steered the gurney down the hallway and to the exterior doors of the building, into the brightness of a Florida afternoon.

β€žOhhhhhh.” Amelia made a sound of realization as Nikki started to explain the mouse’s origins. It was a dark and terrifying story of a little mouse who just happened to appear and wasn’t getting caught in the traps! How ghastly! Well she nodded as she heard why it was named that way.” Hmm.. ohh… THAT one. I recall now. Sorry it's just that I don't recall movie trivia as fast as before.” She nodded even more vigorously as she recalled the movie. Honestly she would never had thought of it if the girl hadn’t mentioned where the name had come from. After having been away from watching any form of movie for so long, she mostly had phased many of the memories of them away to some degree.

β€œMmm, that’d be interesting, I want to see those traps as well.” She was honestly curious and looking forward to the future when she gets to see such a trap in action. Of course after Nikki’s earlier explanation on the traps type, she recalled those weirdly elaborate contraptions on tv now and then, but she honestly wanted to see such a thing on grander scale to kill walkers.” Okey, tomorrow we will see how we can trap this thing. Maybe with two of us, one can guide it towards the other who will catch it.” She suggested as they were returning to the good old working thing. How weird to be working once more, but it was a nice weird. A very calming one.

Soon enough as it was about time to prepare for leaving the doorbell rang. Amelia followed Nikki with her eyes as the girl went to the front to check what was going on and she herself instead hurried to get into the dress. It was about time for her to head off to the meeting point so she used the opportunity while she was alone in the room. Luckily getting into the dress didn’t take quite much time, so she quickly found herself ready to leave and headed to the front as well.

There were 2 things of note she spotted as she entered the front of Supply. First were Nikki and DoLittle. The second was the dog… THE GOD DAMNED BIG DOG!” ...!” Amelia’s heart rate sped up with the potential to go off the charts as she watched the hell beast of horror and destruction that was brought to Supply! They had told her there wouldn’t be dogs near her damn it! Still holding her previous clothing that was now folded into her embrace, she pushed herself against the wall and walked basically glued to it, obviously keeping as far away in her shaken state from the dog.” Nikki… I’m… going… now...” She mumbled out, not even attempting to hide her distress and general disposition towards dogs until she made it to the door, not taking her eyes off the dog, before she finally bailed outside and RAN, not minding she was in a dress now. She ran like her life depended on it, not minding anything on the way there until she made it to the Meeting up point. She was still clutching her regular clothing tightly in embrace, having forgotten to drop it off or put in a bag or anything, affected by the sight of the doggo from hell and her rapid escape from Supply. She was panting, trying to catch her breath, but at least she escaped hte dog... probably. She needed her bat stat for future protection!

β€žOkey, let’s get going.” She stated, after all the things were put into the buckets and they were ready to leave. She started to walk to leave the boat however fate had another idea for her still. As she was just thinking that it’d be nice to maybe be done with the whole job on time today, she slipped. As if on a metaphorical banana peel on the wet boat, she had a very brief moment to react as she found her footing slipping. Time seemed to slow for a moment, as her brain went to weird places, however the most important of all, her reflexes took point and she managed to catch herself and secure her footing and some more support by grabbing the nearest secure object.

β€œ...” She didn’t speak for a moment, before she chuckled.” Well, I lucked out today. Good for me. That was close.” She smiled, having avoided a possible disaster. Who knew if she had slipped how it could have ended, luckily she didn’t this time around. Making sure to be careful as she walked off the boat now, as to not slip again and not slip she did indeed. Once on solid ground, she gave a silent prayer of thanks to no one in specific and headed back to Medical.

With a smile on her face and a song in her heart from having a good thing happen, the already short journey to Medical felt even shorter. Getting back into the building, going through the procedures and then returning to the basement was basically a second nature to her by this point.” So pretty sure you should be leaving any time now.” She reminded Manny as she was putting away all the things.

When the tools and so on were all put away, she smiled and headed to go find Mary. She hurried on to find the woman, she needed to see if there were other random task appearing in need of doing or she should focus on cleaning the rest of the lesser places in the basement that were left since they didn’t finish the entire basement earlier, just the main lab room because of all the plaster. Still it was good they had managed to do that in time before leaving for the Water Repair.

Things were looking up! The boat was finished, things were clean! Manny's biggest regret was he wasn't going to have time to help finish up cleaning medical. The rather fun conversation about Walker Theoreticals was coming to a close as without study or any proof of concept, it could only go so far between two people on cleaning duty. Still fun none the less. "I see your logic there. The world seems more then big enough if someone doesn't want to be apart of a growing civilization, there is room to be away from it." But Manny wondered for how long, even if people were limited, they could do amazing things once infrastructure and other forms of transportation became available. Once all the small pockets of people banded together, and when they were able to travel greater distances with ease, he wondered if that would be the case, or if there were just that few of them left that it wouldn't be a concern for generations? Not knowing about the rest of the world was up too did make things hard to guess.

He was glad to hear that Lisa should be able to finish things in the basement without much delay thankfully. "That's great to hear!" Manny still wished he could spend more time and help, but he owed it to those who had died, so he could be free to attend the funeral. It felt weird not knowing them personally, but they had died, and he had lived because of it. It felt wrong otherwise. One had died, by his choice at that. The old dentist wasn't sure he would ever be able to let that thought go. No matter how he justified it in his head, no matter how many times he told himself he wasn't the one to pull the trigger, he still made the choice that Gavin was the lower priority.

Manny was so deep in collecting his thoughts and tools that he didn't realize Lisa has slipped until it had already happen and she had recovered. "You alright?!" He said in a panic, but seeing how she pretty easily recovered he realized that seemed like a silly question now. He helped finished the gathering of the cleaning supplies, and followed Lisa back to the hospital. Once there, Manny found himself stuck. The basement still gave Manny the chills more then he would like to admit. He could feel his aging heart racing, his mind stuck and struggling to focus, it was maddening. It wasn't until Lisa said something about it being about time to leave that Manny had it in him to snap out of it. "Hm? Oh right... uh... Right. Thank you." He finished putting away his share of the supplies, and started making his way over towards Assembly. "Before I go Lisa, Thank you for... Well being you. Really made my first day here a rather enjoyable experience." He said in a positive tone despite his stress. Then he left to go meet up with everyone before the funeral. Seemed many were already here as well, Manny deciding he was about as well as he could be anyways as he wasn't particularly messy himself figured he was as ready as he could be. Physically, Mentally he felt like he wasn't ready at all.

What a week for the Soldier Boy. Pretty much everything that could go wrong, went wrong in some way, shy of him breaking out into a fist fight with the locals. As far as he could tell, there was that internal rage he had against Bass he couldn't place, but his knuckles weren't bloody or bruised and he wasn't in the stockade. Well, at that point. The checkbook 2.0 comment was kind of funny, but it did make Hunter think about things for a moment. Sure, he had a logic train for most things he said, even if not a great one, or a well thought out one, but so far that logic train had failed him most times he had opened his mouth. He figured he could get a chance to work on figuring out that mess while locked up. It did give him a chance to hold off his comment about Gunny being a human lie detector. Holding off his comment how lie detectors were not credible as they were not as accurate as movies showed, or that they lacked context of any kind. Hunter clearly did think about the remark, but refused to comment. Sure, maybe he was good at reading people, but Hunter found the choice of words funny none the less.

Hunter stopped himself again when it was pointed out that a last ditch apology didn't count for much here. Hunter debated mentioning that he wasn't doing it to save himself there, but held off as that might not have been what he was referring towards. Though if he was being put up for exile with a look into his eyes as apart of the evidence against him, he figured he probably wouldn't be seeing these people soon anyways. Plus, he had a lot against him anyways outside of that, and had successfully turned most people he had interacted with against him. And his attempts to make things better snuffed out for a lack of time to finish, still trying to figure out what the details of what he had done, and just strait up fucking up to the point where many wouldn't care no matter how hard he tried. That last part was probably the biggest thing against him, he had fucked up tot he point where many people probably wouldn't view him as much more then some kid who couldn't control himself.

And, it technically wasn't wrong, but nor was it completely correct. He was confrontational, had more outbursts then he would like to admit, and his personal filter was comparable to using a fishing net to filter coffee grinds. He found the comment interesting to the violent thoughts towards the people here. Sure, he had violent thoughts, founds things funny he shouldn't, and probably had a list of people here he wouldn't go out of his way to save them from a burning building, but one area he had held control of so far, was not acting on those violent impulses. He's seen how that game has gone before, it wasn't pleasant for anyone involved. But what if he did? What if that was apart of last night? Apart of him wished he could get a clear idea of what happened and not bits and pieces. Bits and pieces that don't always make sense. He figured Nigel or Nikki might know something more, but Nigel and him had an audience before, so he couldn't ask then. And he was on a time frame before so didn't really have time to stop for Nikki. Plus, he wasn't sure but she might still be pissed too. And now? He was off to jail.

He would follow Roy and Maddoc wherever they took him. No point in resisting now. Sure, his s had enough mobility that he could probably make some decent distance before they started shooting, and he wasn't carrying a heavy pack and vest of gear so that was in his favor. What wasn't, was he had no gear of any kind. Plus, he was smart enough to know that trying to run now would probably leave him Shoot on Sight with no where to go. Sure, he might be able to get away from his guards, but cuffed where to after that? The walls were too night to climb, especially in cuffs. He might be able to pull off swimming, or at the very leave jogging through shallower sections, but he had no idea what kind of traps or defenses were there. Sewers maybe, but he wasn't desperate enough to try going through the sewers again. So the thoughts to try and run, escape were definitely there, he wondered who wouldn't have those thoughts cross their mind in this situation. And apart of him thought of going through with them, but for a few reasons he decided against it. Even if he did get out, where would he go? The local area has probably been stripped clean, and he had nothing. Sure, maybe he could take some gear from another local settlement? But he had no idea where they were, and if they were bad off enough that their defenses could be so easily breached by a single Hunter with no gear, they probably were pretty desperate too. He gained nothing from trying to run, and he still had a little left to lose if he tried. So he wouldn't act on that impulse either.

So instead, he would just follow, not saying a word to anyone as they went past. Nor to Roy or Maddoc. Nothing he could say now would help, but it was clear anything he says now could end up causing more problems. So deciding he didn't need more problems, he kept quiet. And wouldn't look anyone in the eyes. Not out of a feeling of guilt though, just to avoid any kind of verbal or mental communication. It was a good chance for him to think about the last few days, he wondered if what he had done was worse then he thought it was, or if he was focusing on the wrong issues. Maybe that was what the therapy was supposed to be for? But didn't even get that far either.

'Dragon', the old callsign for Colonel Aeron Martin from an old, nearly-forgotten war from a time now long gone. Alexander nodded along to Medic talking about the General and the callsign, himself trying to think back to those younger days and see flashing images of his past. He remembered the 'Dragon' name clear as day, but the reasons for why he apparently disliked escaped his ass-busted mind for the moment. The old veteran had a good guess somewhere in his thoughts, however any attempt at sharing it was blocked by the internal dike holding back his past, only allowing an empty string of words to leave his mouth. "Dragon…yeah, not something good…"

Medic yelling at him for moving his butt over to the wall didn't help either, making Alexander sigh audibly. "I'm sorry Medic, but that was no marathon I just ran just there…" He said to Medic, breathing in and out as he looked up all three of them down there to help him - Medic, Thalia and Rolodex. With some reluctant help from them onto the gurney, Alexander was rolled out of the basement room and into the elevator- Alexander clearly heard the mention of an elevator, and hadn't it been for the fact that he had both gotten a good beating from the floor and still hadn't been reunited with his leg, he'd refused to be treated as if he was an elderly. Too bad he at that moment effectively was one, which he hated.

"Not sure I should feel privileged or entitled, haven't been lying down like this under tropical skies for years." Alexander attempted at lifting the mood, unsure of who's mood needed lifting. Perhaps mostly his own, as his disabilities came to light more than ever. Perhaps it was to show the others than he took this well enough, and wouldn't need baby-sitting afterwards? Outside the Administration Building, Alexander shaded his eyes from the Florida sun and put on a brave face, looking over to Thalia. "I'm sorry I fell, Angel, when you took that bowling trophy like a champ…You can leave with the others to the graves without me if you need to."

Nigel would have a hard time forgetting the intellectual conversation he had with Thana before Ash showed up, giving Thana the Athenean a quick smile while she and Ash took the heavy liftings of the conversation. He didn't mind her now talking to Ashton, by now having figured some important bond existing between the two of them after nearly a week together. And he'd already gotten his fair share of conversational filling about Greco-Roman antiquity from the first half of the day, so he wouldn't complain. Only thing was that it made him miss Erica that little much more. He hoped she was doing fine today, wherever she was off doing her part in repairing civilisation.

The Neo-Roman legionaire didn't pay too much attention to what Thana and Ash were talking about, allowing Ash a quick look into the buckets from a reasonable distance. The longer Nigel stood there with him the more the smell pertruded his nostrils like the fangs of a snake, though less deadly. Nigel might have commented on it off-hand, hadn't it been for the pair turned and saw something in the distance. Whatever it was, it wasn't good.

"Oh for the love of…" Nigel exclaimed, wondering if some Greek muse was playing tricks on his eyes. He couldn't believe it, but there Hunter was escorted out and off to gods knew where. "Cuiusvis hominis est errare, nullius nisi insipientis in errore perseverare..." the Roman muttered, facepalming harder than he'd ever done in the company of Hank and Wayne. The Roman statesman Cicero was right in his words, only a fool persisted in his faults, which Hunter clearly had managed to pull off. Nigel turned to Thana as she suggested they get a move on, nodding to both her and Ash before following Thana. "It was good to see you, Ashton. Until next time."

Pushing the cart after Thana, once again back on the campaign trail of food, Nigel only thought back to the previous night and his -clearly failed- attempt at rebuilding Hunter's senses. A part of him had wanted to run over and ask for an explaination, but he knew it'd be futile. This was by no means the Roman army during the early Republican era, but Hunter must have done something to deserve a harsh reprimand. Pushing the cart Nigel wondered if he should ask Thana what Hunter could expect, but the possible answer seemed apparent. Instead Nigeld looked over at Thana and asked her as carefully and innocently as he could. "Service? I take it you've lost someone? I'm sorry to hear that…"
