Darius's Personality:
Darius is a social butterfly to the max. He’ll speak to anyone! They could have two heads, extra arms, fewer limbs than normal, or a really distracting lazy eye. Darius will talk to them. The guy is also rather selfless, always giving to those less fortunate than himself. He believes the team is only as strong as its weakest member, so he always makes sure those in his company are well-equipped. One thing that breaks this trend is when he gets into a competitive mood. He can sometimes become blind to others’ needs or take things too far despite what might be planned after him going all out. Darius is mostly kind to those he doesn’t know while he teases and lightly bullies those he’s very close to. His presence is typically warm to others as Darius tries to remain positive most of the time.
⋆ Darius is a big hugger. Physical touch is like a boost for Darius to connect to others. When it comes to trust, Darius trusts others until they break it with him. He’s the type to give others a chance despite their reputation. 

⋆ Darius can become angered if something unfortunate happens to someone close to him or if he’s frustrated by something he cannot control. Although rare, negative occurrences that Darius feels emotional about can strongly change his thinking on certain topics. Darius isn’t the most patient person. He strikes first as he perceives this as getting an advantage. Darius will complain if he has to wait for longer than he believes is necessary. Now is he brave? He can be sure. Darius isn’t afraid of the normal able-bodied person but put an 8ft roided-looking orc with a battle ax in front of him. Darius can cool under pressure when dealing with most normal stresses but throw something unfamiliar in front of him and he can doubt himself. One thing Darius is known for doing is talking himself through his problems aloud. Despite his shortfalls in reacting to stressors, Darius’ reaction speed is exceptional. He’s quick on his feet and isn’t one to let up his guard just because he feels he has the upper hand in a confrontation. 

Darius isn’t a traditional genius as advanced math and science escape him most of the time. “Yeah, leave that to the nerds.” However when it comes to combat Darius’ mind flourishes with techniques, post-combat adaption, and training approaches. Darius never intends to manipulate anyone, though he usually makes friends quite easily. His banter with Dante can be a little off-putting to some but most will forgive such instances when he demonstrates his bright outlook and charitable deeds. Sense of humor? Darius thinks he hits the middle ground with humor though he can usually be quite funny unintentionally.

Dante's Personality:
Dante is quite extroverted especially around Darius as he wants to be someone his brother can look up to. He is not selfish and will go to far lengths to help those in danger or those he cares about. Dante is kind but when it comes down to his job he can be considered mean or cruel depending on how you look at things. Dante is willing to sacrifice himself if it means saving or protecting someone close to him.

Dante has a calm demeanor for the most part but can lose his temper if he fails to do something or is unable to help in a situation he feels he should be helping. Dante can be patient in some circumstances but for the most part, is quite impatient and very much a go-getter. Dante is brave being an ex-soldier and mercenary. Braveness was drilled into him to fight for the things he loves and cares about. He is sometimes overcome with anxiety thinking about something happening to Darius or failing to fit the perfect image he was to his family for him to look up to. Dante is a quick reactor due to the training and work required for his occupation.

He has over-average intelligence but that is mostly in combat, survival, and street smarts. Dante can be charismatic when he wants to be; he can chameleon in situations as he was trained for covert operations. He has a mild sense of humor but it isn’t perfect. Well, Dante is sane for the most part he did develop minor PTSD from when he was in combat for the military and mercenary work. Dante is usually more energized when competing or in combat but outside of that he is a lot more chill and relaxed.

The Blackbourn History

The Blackbourn brothers had always been active on their feet since… since they could walk. These twins were always in competition. Foot races, pushup contests, one on one pick-up games, and even a few unfriendly fights. So it was no surprise to anyone that they both chose career paths that fulfilled that primal urge they both had. The weird thing was that while Dante enlisted in the armed forces, Darius was hard focused on mixed martial arts. 

Dante grew up with high expectations from his parents, Eric and Monica. Eric served in the Marine Corps and had his foot halfway in the door for most of his childhood, home at times, away at others. His mother was home with Dante and his brother Darius often and she was a very nice lady. They were momma’s boys. He had expectations, mostly from his father, who would call even when he was away to make sure Dante was getting good grades. Dante succeeded in everything people asked through sheer anxiety of failing and not wanting to let people down.

Darius hadn’t been the best in his weight class but his competitiveness and innate talent made him quite the contender. He’d won a title, but he also lost it too. In this world, he knew he wouldn’t win everything and that failure only happened to those who gave up on themselves. Most of his life at this point was a cycle of training, fighting a match, partying and indulging in vices, and meeting people to strike promotion deals with or sign autographs for. Despite some of the reclusiveness he had to practice, Darius always enjoyed connecting with others whenever he could. Even his rivals liked him. Still, the closest person to him was always the hardest to reach. Dante had entered the military service, requiring him to go on many extended tours to fight. To fight in a different way than he had. While Darius fought for sport and his fans, Dante fought for his life and the lives of others. 

Dante joined the army when he was 18 as an infantryman. He wound up deploying twice but left the service after his second term. Upon his exit, Dante joined a mercenary group to operate militarily without the restrictions the army placed on him.  His mercenary work was kept secret from his family. To their knowledge, he was still enlisted in the army.

Still, the two respected and loved each other just as much as when they grew up together. It was no surprise when the two planned a vacation getaway in Bali, renting out a villa, the two felt they could conquer the world when they were together. Just as they took a celebratory toast an unexpected sinkhole that was meant to end the journeys of two Blackbourns earned them a one-way ticket to a place called Avalia. Too bad that the problem was that it had already been conquered.

Darius has been active since he could walk with his athleticism only increasing as he’s gotten older. He’s always trying to better himself even after reaching 30 years old. He trains at least six days a week if feasible so he remains a contending fighter.

⋆ He can pull his punches if he believes someone is physically weaker due to their appearance. He is also not trying to kill someone outright.
⋆ He is not trained in anything stealth related.
⋆ If he indulges in vices, he will over-indulge most of the time leaving himself in a vulnerable state for several hours and even the following day. This can also happen if he pushes himself to his limits in a physical bout.

Despite her enigmatic ways, Zora is still an extroverted person. She often approach those that draw her interest rather quickly, something that makes her quite easy both to approach and talk to (especially to those who offer her a good spiced rum). Despite that, those who mistake her sociability for kindness or selflessness would be gravely mistaken. While it is true that Zora will help those who come to her, assuming they treat her with respect, her help never comes without a cost. Be it either strings attached to her 'deals' or with her manipulating you for her own benefit. Needless to say, due to this peculiar nature, Zora is a bit cautious regarding whom she trusts... Lest her own tricks be used against her.

Regarding her temper, Zora is normally a calm and patient person... Until she isn't. It does take a considerable effort to make her lose her calm but when she does, her fury is as terrible as the tumultuous sea. Fierce, unrelenting and impulsive. 
Although is rather rare, when she really loses her temper, there is little one can do to placate her ire other than just letting her calm down by herself. Zora does hold grudges for a long time until she can repay the offenses that were committed. At the same time, Zora does not easily forget when someone helps or assists her and is sure to repay the debt. 

More than once, Zora has been referred to as an enchantress, both due to her cunning and sharp mind and her charisma. Many were those who fell victims to her words or her charm. To deal with Zora without knowing exactly what you want and exactly how to ask for it is to invite disaster. Despite that, those who know Zora well, know that she is bound by a very strict set of morals, which prevail above everything else, even her fickle nature... 

Such tenets are: 

To never break a promise, deal or contract.
Once parley has been established, it shall not be broken, as it is a sacred tradition both to the sea and the spirits.
No harm shall be done to each other or their crew by either those who shared table and drink with, at least until the next day.

While rather specific, Zora's knowledge is unparalleled in the fields she specialize in, such as the sea, poisons, herbs, anatomy (animal and human, to a certain extent) and venom.

Apart from the handles, which are made with a suspiciously sized femur, both of them are just normal sickles. Zora uses them both as a weapons and a tools to gather herbs & etc.

History:

Soothsayer, fortune teller, witch, mystic... Those were only some of the titles the enigmatic woman named Zora would be known thorough the seas. But before she earner those titles, Zora was simply a small girl on a small tribal village in the Caribbean islands. Born in 1656, she was raised and taught by shamans and witch doctors. While she was being taught to was to take up her teachers' positions, the constant visits from pirates, sailors and buccaneers ended up waking up a thirst for freedom on the young Zora.

Every time they came to her village to ask for favorable winds for their travels, protection against spirits, herbs to sooth the pains from wounds or even incenses to soothe their spirits, the young Zora, which was already quite outspoken and charismatic even at a young age, would ask them for tales of the sea and even to teach her how to use a knife to fight. It was exactly the contact with those people that ended up being a deciding factor that led the young Zora to leave her village.

Zora's first year on the sea was spent boarding from ship to ship. Having left her village on a small merchant ship, she would disembark on docks, offering help to those seemed to need it. Sailors and pirates are naturally superstitious, so it didn't take much for Zora to amaze them at first. Herbs, salves, special 'mixtures' of tobacco to calm down the nerves, poisons, sea and weather predictions. For every problem, she always seemed to have a solution.

It was around 1674, when Zora had 18 years that her name started getting known through the seas. Rumors about her started appearing as she continued traveling. About a Mystic who could interpret the sea and the waves, about a witch doctor that could solve any ailment and cure any poison, about a soothsayer who could see one's future and give them advice or warnings.

But fame also came it's fair share of problems... Such as some pirates, who wanted to monopolize Zora's services, to have an advantage over their enemies. Until then, Zora's fame was of a powerful mystic, but after stories of how she dealt with those who tried to make her a prisoner that her fame took a new level. From nasty sickle wounds and sliced necks to even tales of how Zora cursed the sailors who offended her, throwing the fury of the sea on their ship, by sending them to violent and stormy seas. After a few similar cases, with most of those who offended or came after Zora suffering either in her hands or in the hands of the sea, to cross Zora was the same as to make the inexorable and unrelenting sea their own enemy.

From that moment onward, from a normal woman, Zora's status and fame became closer to a powerful entity, some even claimed her to be the personification of the sea... The will of the seas itself, in a mortal body. But once again, fame does come with it's cost. Even though most feared having the wrath of the seas brought upon them, it was simply impossible to ignore the amount of power and influence a single woman had over what happened through the seas. To make it even worse, Zora was never someone who could be controlled with anything other than the most traditional rules and codes of the sea. No amount of money or jewels would be able to buy her, nor any amount of ships. Zora never played sides nor refused a 'deal' that interested her. In some wayss, she was freer than anybody else. Moving and acting solely by her whims and desires and for a good amount of time, there was nobody that could or wished to stop her.

But this all changed when a group of powerful privateers-turned-pirates, with the consent of most of the notorious crews from the time, made an effort to finally 'control' Zora by 'escort' her to a stronghold in the Bahamas. While they claimed to be only for Zora's own 'protection', for Zora, to keep her in one place for too long, regardless of how luxurious and comfortable it was, was closer to imprisonment than it was of protection. But this time, no amount of manipulation seemed to be able to free her, since most of the powerful pirates hated the idea of having to submit and being controlled by someone... Even if that someone was Zora.

Zora could never truly control the weather or the seas and all the rumors saying she could were nothing more than exaggerations from her simply being able to read the tides and the weather but due the fame she earned and the many rumors, her existence had been elevated close to a mythical figure and as such, when terrible storms and hurricanes started assailing the seas, many immediately attributed those to Zora, claiming that taking her away from the sea had angered it. 

Even though such storms weren't exactly rare, especially in the last semester of a year, they were particularly violent on that year. When storms and hurricanes started lasting for entire years, sinking ships and claiming many lives, the rumors only became stronger and out of desperation, the pirates turned to Zora again. In the end, it was finally time for Zora to pay for taking advantage of the fame she had earned. In an effort to calm down the seas, many sailors grouped up, invading the stronghold and tied Zora, taking her to sail directly towards the a storm that began forming on the horizon. 

No matter how much Zora cursed them, how much she shouted, nothing could dissuade the terrified sailors. In their fanaticism in their superstitious thoughts, Zora was not a woman, but instead, she and the sea were two parts of the same thing and after being imprisoned, the sea now claimed for it's other half and the only way to quell it's fury was to reunite both of them again. And so, with a fiery determination, they sailed towards the storm, regardless of how strong the winds were, regardless of the rain, the waves and the lightning and when their ship started to creak and protest under the unrelenting assault of the waves, they took Zora to the deck, making her walk the plank.

"Foolish men! The sea is bigger than any one of us! No one can control it, not even me!" Zora shouted, her voice echoing above the mighty roar of the waves as she cursed the sailors.

"Your attempts to control it through me will be met with failure and your audacity will be severely punished!" Zora cursed, being gradually pushed further towards the end of the board, until she finally fell into the violent waters.

The sea seemed to open in the spot Zora fell, forming a whirlpool and dragging her further below as she struggled and trashed against the ropes with the noises of the sailors cheering in the background. Strangely enough, only a second after she fell, a bright light appeared, surrounding her. It was only for a moment but when it stopped, Zora was nowhere to be seen, with only the ropes that were tying her left behind...

⋆ To live among pirates requires a lot of stamina. Either to help around the ship, fight, defend oneself and when necessary, running for one's life. Despite being a rather 'important' figure for most pirates, Zora still had to deal with many situations and for that, she always had to keep a healthy and strong body.

What are your character’s physical strengths?
⋆ Flexibility and agility. Zora uses a ritual sickle as a weapon and her fighting style mixes ritual dances with the quick movements she learned with pirates.
⋆ Dexterity. Sickles are famous for being incredibly dangerous if used as weapons... Both for the user and the enemy. The fact that Zora constantly uses one both as a tool and a weapon means that if she isn't dexterous, at least one of her hands wouldn't have all its fingers.
⋆ Stamina. There were a few times where ships Zora was in had... unfortunate encounter with other pirates and she had to swim back to safety.

What are your character’s physical weaknesses?
⋆ Low strength and weight.
⋆ Low durability. The fact that Zora needs to keep her body nimble and agile for dances and rituals mean she cannot take many hits.
⋆ Hand to hand combat. If disarmed, apart from using poisons and toxins, Zora can't do much in hand-to-hand combat.

 	 Trained as a spiritual advisor, Aurora has a quiet but dutiful demeanor. She is seen as kind as she is reserved towards expressing her own feelings and opinions. She enjoys peace and tries to settle any disagreement before aggression arises. Therefore, the elf  prefers offering fundamental truths as opposed to unintentionally inviting any hesitation or dispute into a discussion. However, if need be, she is the first to offer herself as a sacrifice in any quarrel. 

	 Her will is patient, and even in a spar of any sort, Aurora remains calm and collective. She is generally slow in reacting, as she tries to avoid fights at all cost and considers the well-being of all involved. Her innocent face of worriment is a bold statement of how she humbly cares for those who are not herself. She does not wish to even think ill of her enemies. However, when she must defend a companion, she will honorably pursue her duty.

	 Aurora is seen as an easy target, but her wisdom provides for a way of life that guides her away from atrocities. Her charm is enchanting but never used in a dishonorable fashion. It speaks to the good in other creatures and can often times be ignored by the omens of others. Nonetheless, her foresight ought not to be dismissed, even by the most powerful.

	 In everything, Aurora cherishes life as she does all creatures as she takes not just her life but the life of those around her very seriously. For this reason, she tends to keep an arms distance from many others but is well appreciated and cautiously friendly towards all. Occasionally, she will engage in light-hearted whims. Her humor is sensitive and often causes a shy blush when pushed to react. In these moments, Aurora keeps them safeguarded in her memory, not taking them for granted.

H I S T O R Y

 	 Born of two elves, who both worked as safeguards for the royal court of the Sun Kingdom. Her mother was a dutiful maid, and her father was a spiritual advisor to the royal court. Aurora’s father Claderith Dyewynn was a much older elf, believing to keep his wisdom and clairvoyance through celibacy and chastity. He never let his mind wander into romantic territories until he  slowly softened his heart to Aurora’s mother Forsythia.

	 Forsythia bore Claderith two children. One son Rowan and later a daughter Aurora. Both were raised within the Sun Kingdom’s walls, and both have devoted their lives to continuing their servitude inside these royal grounds. Rowan decided to serve in the military with his horse Cephal. His knowledge and studies of archery and combat serve the kingdom well. On the other hand, Aurora was born blind and was there was great fear she would lead a crippled life. However, what she lacked physically, she more than compensated in wisdom and holy insight. 

	 Aurora was trained to be sensitive, not just to the heart of others but to the world around her. She can hear her surroundings and make accurate judgements on her whereabouts. If it were not for the white clouds shading her pupils, her grave and ease of movement can be thought as that of an elf with her site. 

	 Her lack of sight causes her to be less prone to worldly desires, and for such a reason, her studies, which follow the footsteps of her father as a spiritual advisor, have come more naturally for her than most. She began at an early age, having taken interest in other worldly duties due to her differences among the other eight elves. She has inherited the mindful duty of her father, letting little cease her interaction with the spiritual world. From her mother, she has inherited a tender touch and humble nature.

Arlen is lively and active, and wants to get the most out of life. He seems happy-go-lucky, and full of a youthful, brazen confidence. But he is rather adept at judging situations, and getting out of them before they turn awry. Danger does have an appeal to him, and he is a bit of a thrill-seeker. Still, he has a persistent survival instinct, and when that kicks in, there needs to be a very good reason for him to stick around. He has a penchant for nice things, and prefers to get something out of the work he does. He’s got the backs of those who have his, and does what he can for the resistance, but isn’t altruistic per se.

He is open, amicable, and affectionate, and can easily chat up strangers. He likes casual, friendly, or even flirty banter and touches, and enjoys a good laugh. He can be playful, mischievous, and teasing; sometimes provocative. However, Arlen is by no means trusting, despite the outward friendliness. He is socially cunning, learning what makes people tick. He may prod others to test them and their reactions. He is mercurial, and gets moody, at times childishly sulking. But he rarely stays upset for long. Anger in the form of hate or vengefulness gets channeled into the desire to kill, though.

Arlen can be patient, but often isn’t. He seems to get jittery with nothing to do. If pressed, he can remain eerily still and silent. It’s a bad time for him though, and he needs his outlets. His formal education is limited, and his knowledge more so practical than theoretic. But he is clever and quick to pick up on things. He is curious, but not dedicated to learning. Certainly crafty; not scholarly. Arlen’s reflexes and instincts are one point, but he also tends to be too quick to act out on his ideas. He likes to think he is charming, and strives to be. But he’s kind of a brat, too. He will persuade, manipulate, or even deceive if that’s what it takes. He struggles with trauma, and has some related issues, but it’s not usually apparent – which is by design.

History:Early life
Arlen was born on the outskirts of the Sun Elf Kingdom to an elf couple who had had only one other child so far; his older sister Gwyn. They lived in a charming cottage within a small but tight-knight community. His parents were entertainers – musicians – and they performed at various festivals, events, and establishments. It wasn’t rare that they were hired by the middle district venues, and likely could have made a living there. But they always said nature was their muse. They also seemed to appreciate the serenity of a quieter, more sparsely populated location.

Arlen has fond memories of running into the nearby forest, trying to jump from tree to tree like the squirrels, taking a dip in the streams, or following the brooks to their sources. His favourite spot was a waterfall running over a steep cliffside into a crystalline lake. How many times he’d climbed up there only to make a leaping run into the water…Usually joined by his sister, who looked after him with fond exasperation.

As much as they enjoyed the local forest, the city had a special draw for both siblings. There was always so much going on! So many fascinating sights, people, and activities. Arlen marveled over it all. But what inspired his passion was the time he caught a circus performance. The acrobatic spectacles he’d witnessed had him decide then and there that was the thing he wanted to do for life. His parents certainly weren’t opposed, and supported him in his endeavors. 

Much as they had done for Gwyn when she had decided to become a soldier.

No one thought much of his sister’s life path.

The war and its aftermath
But then, the dark elves declared a war on all of Avalia.

Tensions were rising, and it was as if terror had embedded itself into the mind of the general populace.

Arlen was afraid for Gwyn, and so were their parents. She was a young trainee, yet that wasn’t a position without its dangers. Thankfully, their paternal grandparents promised to look out for her, and came out of their peaceful retirement to return to serve in the army. Meanwhile, their parents remained at home with Arlen.

The war ended within five years with the dark elves victorious. When the Sun Elf Kingdom had fallen, they had to dismiss their military force. Gwyn had come home alive and hale, if distraught. Their grandfather had perished. Their grandmother has been hospitalized, heavily injured. In the end, she hadn’t made it either. The time they’d stood on her deathbed, her body failing and mind feverish, was the only one Arlen remembers having seen his father weep.

Both during and after the war, work was scarcer. Their parents still strived to connect people with music, but far less had the means to pay for it. The countless dead were only one cost of the war. The economy had suffered a blow. Natural resources were lost, reduced, or tainted. 

The outskirts were struck the hardest. Swathes of forest had been cut through, so many fields burned and razed to the ground. Because they’d been in the way. Their local hospital was overfull, their communities broken apart or gone entirely. Hunting, agriculture, and various odd jobs altogether were barely enough for them to scrape by.

The worst of it all was the paranoia. In their village, where once upon a time, they could count on each other with their lives and more, there was now a miasma of suspicion. The rumours that their government had let them down, had been bribed by the dark elves, only deepened the mistrust. One elf – a local barkeep – had even volunteered to serve as an advisor to the new government.

Dark elven terrors became commonplace. Traitors were being hunted down, many publicly and brutally executed. People deemed suspicious were being taken in, some never to be seen again. Other returned, broken. Supplies were pillaged, or simply forcefully collected as a tribute. People were being stolen; kidnapped at a moment’s inattention. There were countless acts of casual violence inflicted.

One fateful day, his sister Gwyn was targeted. Accused of treason, she was taken. She’d apparently been witnessed attending odd meetings. She and some others – a group of would-be rebels – were apprehended.

Knowing his sister, it was not unimaginable that she’d genuinely had her heart set on resistance. But to learn of it like this? Due to some strangers’ condemnation? And then, his family and he were questioned, their house searched. Supposedly, there’d been enough evidence against her to remove her. Meanwhile, his family was let go, knowing they would be watched.

Had his sister truly been a rebel? Had she not said anything to protect them? Had she been falsely accused? Who had it been to betray her? Was it one of their neighbours? A supposed friend? Was it all dark elven fabrication, a tactic to break them down and subjugate them?

None of it mattered, really.

One day, his sister was simply gone. Disappeared, forever. His sister, so resilient, ardent, and brave; a soul so heroic she’d no doubt have tales written of her had she lived to pursue her ideals.

The journey
Neither he nor his parents could possibly stand to remain in their old home, then. So, they set out, making their living as traveling performers. Their earnings were paltry, and Gwyn’s absence was palpable, but it was better than remaining back there, in that house, in that village. There was the pervasive sense that if only they’d left sooner–

But even their grief and guilt were allayed with time. As a family unit, they could support and trust each other. They worked together often; his parents with their music, he with his gymnastics. His parents now warier of the world’s dangers, Arlen was intensively taught combat as a means of self-defense.

They spent years traveling, from city to city, from village to village. There were some areas where they preferred spending longer periods of time in, such as the River Fairy Kingdom (known as “Riverbloom” after the war). On one memorable occasion, they’d even been to Aldrakh. There was little good will between orcs and light elves, but it just so happened that the orcs had a large feast, and were in a good enough mood to ‘invite’ some stray guests. After the initial fear, it was admittedly fun, but Arlen was still glad that they’d not been held up there for too long.

They did return to their homeland once in a while, though never to the village they’d used to live in. It was nostalgic in some ways, but also painful. Thus, their visits to the Sun Elf Kingdom (now named “Illuminata”) were never lengthy.

However, traveling the world also gave them the perspective of how the tyranny they’d experienced back home was now present everywhere. Senseless suffering and violence were all too common, no matter where they went. Even as years passed, their new overlords didn’t give the impression that they’d ever come off their power high. The abuses of power would keep happening.

Nothing would change – unless it was changed.

They decided as a family to work towards the rebel cause, if less overtly than Gwyn might have done. They gathered intelligence where they could, and passed it onto whichever rebel group or individual had a use for it. Of course, they encrypted their intel, used disguises, had secret meeting locations, and so on and so forth. All the while they still acted as legitimate performers.

Despite all these precautions, misfortune struck. Their caravan was attacked on a secluded path by a group of bandits. Arlen had been in the back of the carriage, and had only heard some sort of commotion at first. Then, his mother managed to rush in, urging him into a hidden compartment. 

Her last words to him were: “Please…You must live. Keep the light with you, always.”

She was killed while pretending she was trying to gather up hidden documents to escape with. 

Paralyzed with shock, fear coursing through his very bones, Arlen remained compactly concealed in the cache, barely breathing. His mother’s blood slowly pooled over the wooden slating of the floor. The red life liquid slowly spread and oozed, staining the wood. Through a tiny opening, it dripped drop by drop into his hiding place. All he could do was watch wide-eyed, not daring to make a single sound.

Objectively, the attack did not last long.

But to Arlen, it felt like an eternity.

He was still trembling long after the attackers had departed. A few hours of silence later, he finally emerged.

His mother’s corpse was the first one he’d happened upon. It was right there, next to where he’d been hiding, after all. Tears silently streaming down his cheeks, he stroked her face. It was already cool.

The mercenary who’d killed her was collapsed next to her, slain. As if by instinct, Arlen rifled through the dead man’s clothes, searching for anything useful. For any identified marks of the group who’d attacked them.

Then, he headed outside. He was so dizzy, so sick…He stumbled out of the carriage and threw up.

He went to his father’s body next. Got a last, one-sided hug from him too.

There were a few other dead assailants around the carriage. The ones his parents managed to fend off. He collected some things from them too.

Then, he broke up the now useless carriage with a looted axe. He built a pyre, and held a small, unofficial ceremony for his parents. He sat by the fire till their bodies were consumed. Voice halting and rough, breaking up with each sentence, he sang them their favorite songs. And lastly, a very long, traditional olden elvish elegy for the departing souls.

After the ashes had cooled, he gathered up the remaining bone fragments, and wrapped them up caringly. When he could, he’d bring them back to their homeland and bury them there. It was the best he could do for them.

He took whatever supplies and weapons he could, and went on his way.

He’d left the killed bandits where they’d been. He didn’t care if they rotted.

For the next several decades, Arlen traveled mostly by his lonesome. Whatever companions he found were fleeting, temporary acquaintances.

His first mission – to bury his parents’ remains within the Sun Elf Kingdom – was done within the month. 

The second mission – to find those remaining mercenaries, and finish them – took years.

It was a great relief when he had accomplished both.

Afterwards, he ran as wild as one might expect from an adolescent let loose. He partied, he gambled, he flirted and got around, he tried all sorts of substances. It was a way of coping with his loss, trying to keep a positive outlook on life.

He turned his acrobatic talents to thievery, because illegitimate work simply paid more, and was easier to come by. That, and he saw no reason to limit himself to so-called honest work.

However, one time he got too careless, too cocksure. Or maybe he was just unlucky. 

On one of his grand schemes, he was discovered, captured, and thrown into prison.

From captive to pirate
At first, Arlen was left bored and idle in a regular prison, waiting out his sentence. He had nothing better to do, so he might have been snarky with some of the guards.

The day approached when he thought he’d be freed. However, he was taken for a ‘transfer’. Having a terrible feeling about it, he attempted an escape. But it only ended with him getting beat within an inch of his life, tied up, drugged, and thrown into a crate for good measure.

The journey was rough, and he was left there for hours, half-conscious at best.

When he came to, exhausted, he found himself within Roshmi’s Black Market.

He was packed into a cage with many others, where they merely awaited their turn to be auctioned off. Arlen had hope that someone from the outside would buy him, because he figured that’d make fleeing easier.

However, he’d had no such luck. He was purchased by the owner of ‘Forbidden Delights’, a brothel more expensive than the Love Rooms, but also offering special services and goods. In his three years there, he truly learned the meaning of lying, and putting on an act. 

His mind sharpened, though he unfortunately grew thinner and frailer – they didn’t want him in a good enough shape to do anything damaging. He was kept inside ‘his’ room most of the time, where he attended various customers. He also had jobs as an escort within the Market. The latter he actively sought out, because it was an opportunity for him to learn the mazelike layout of the underground tunnels.

It was this single-minded determination to escape which kept him (mostly) sane and functional. The desire to get out burned away everything else. The lingering pain of the death of his family was thoroughly erased. He’d also ceased to care what happened to him (or anyone else) within the Black Market. As long as he managed to free himself, it would all be fine. And so, he planned, gathered information, and made whatever preparations he could.

He was waiting for the ‘right’ opportunity, but circumstances forced his hand. One day, a certain noble dark elven man came looking for him, having heard of him from acquaintances. This wasn’t unusual in and of itself, but when Arlen was introduced to this man…The way the dark elf looked at him chilled his blood. And that after having met his share of thoroughly vile people.

“His eyes are all I want,” the noble said coldly. He’d been looked at as an object, even a collectible before, but this…There was no humanity, no desire, no nothing in that soulless gaze. A mild curiosity, perhaps, but mostly the certainty that his order would be abided. The self-assurance that because the dark elf wanted it, he would obtain it. A conceited possessiveness, as if it was his natural right to take what he saw as his.

Terror took a hold of him, utterly and completely. 

Shocked as he was, his mind somehow still followed the conversation well enough to realize that a successful bargain was reached. He turned a surprised look on his ‘owner’.

Oh.

How naïve.

Even everything that had already happened to him, he had still believed that some form of bodily integrity and safety would be granted to him.

As if a slaver would.

The noble man had hid held down. One of his attendants approached him with a scalpel, the blade was right there by his eye–

In a singular, intense moment of rejection, a powerful blast of light magic escaped him, blinding and even injuring all around him. No one expected it, least of all Arlen. He did, however, immediately recognize the chance for what it was, and ran.

It was desperation which fueled him, but cunning which guided him. He’d already engraved all he’d learned of Roshmi’s Black Market into his mind; all the routes he’d seen, the patrols he’d learned of, the hiding locations. Everything he knew, he used; whatever he didn’t, he improvised.

It was due to cleverness and luck both that he succeeded. He had a very tight time frame to run away further once he made it into the Roshmi City proper. While official patrols might not bother with a runaway slave, no doubt some excuse would be found to pursue him regardless.

He lay low where he could for the next few days. The news that a certain establishment within the Black Market had been destroyed by a ‘highly offended’ noble reached him. Arlen had a very good laugh over that. Even more hilarious was when official wanted posters with a listed bounty for him started making their appearance.

It was that which made him realize that in a twisted way, he did have power over his would-be maimer. Arlen was perfectly happy to leave him in the dust as he made his escape. Let the dark elf obsess over him if he would; he had finally regained his freedom, and he’d let nothing get in the way of it.

Within the year, he had himself smuggled to Port Vanarosa. There, he enjoyed an honestly dishonest life for a while. Eventually, he happened to meet Captain Drosis, who was looking for fresh recruits. Arlen was at the point of his life where he was both looking for something more fulfilling than petty thievery, and a decent group to do it with. 

Trustworthiness was the issue, and the captain and he had a discussion in which they were both clearly gauging the other. In the end, they came to a mutual agreement; Arlen was deemed good enough to be accepted, and similarly, he thought it worth the risk to give a try to working under the captain. 

Granted, he’d nearly ditched upon learning the man had dark elves as part of his crew. However, he did believe Drosis wasn’t working for Avalia’s resident oppressors in any capacity. Besides, just as he’d learned that not only dark elves worked for their new tyrant, he was able to recognize that not all dark elves supported Zanithel’s reign.

Since then, the 34 years he’s been part of the Saltrunner were enough to build both trust and comradery between him and the rest of the crew. He now genuinely respects and even admires his captain. Especially ever since he’s found out the man was actively works for the resistance; for Arlen, knowing that he was once again a rebel was practically like returning to his roots. He’s also developed a fairly good friendship and healthy rivalry with both Tanithil and Amisra. Though they’re still bound to clash, it’s not generally a cause for bad blood between them.

The GMs will present your character’s stats based on the information you provide below. Please try to keep this realistic. We will call you out if it sounds implausible. We may reach out to you for additional questions if need be.

Fitness Level:⊛ Very active. He has a daily routine of exercises to keep himself limber, and performs feats of acrobatics for fun. That and a plethora of physical tasks associated with his profession keep him in shape.

Physical strengths:⊛ Agility. Arlen has been an acrobat a good portion of his life. From his illegal pursuits, he knows how to scale buildings, lose a trail in a city, maneuver on the confines of a ship, and more. He’s quick on his feet, and very evasive. His balance is exceptional, and he’s quite dexterous too.
⊛ Speed. He’s often had to run away from law enforcement. To do that successfully, swiftness is essential.
⊛ Stealth. Because magic is not his forte, Arlen has learned all the conventional methods of stealth first. How to move quietly, how to blend in with a crowd, how to track someone unnoticed…
⊛ Strength. To perform the feats Arlen does, a well-developed body is required. It may be a specialized athletic strength, but it is strength nonetheless.

Physical weaknesses:⊛ Raw power. There are simply limits to what someone of his size and build can do. Arlen is lean, not bulked with muscle, and thus exerting tremendous force – such as in lifting, carrying, or pushing against very heavy objects (or people) – is challenging at best, impossible at worst.
⊛ Endurance. There have been periods in Arlen’s life where he has subsisted on an incredibly poor diet; his years in prison especially. Though he’s recovered since then, the past malnutrition has left its marks. In longer engagements, he needs to take tactical breathers here and there, even if they’re short.
⊛ Durability. He’s been in his share of scuffles, and has developed a decent level of pain tolerance. However, he just isn’t all that tough, and prefers to avoid hits and injuries regardless.

Zeva’s youth shines in her loud and boisterous personality, reflecting a sheltered life ignorant to the first-hand experience of the dark elves’ assault. Confident in her fighting prowess and naturally courageous, Zeva doesn’t hesitate to jump between threats and her loved ones. Part of this is due to her impulsivity – she acts before she thinks, and is quite frankly, simple-minded. She’s straightforward, acting directly upon her values and feelings and in the way she makes decisions, whether that be joy, sadness, or anger. This recklessness could be attributed to Zeva’s immaturity; having never known true fear, there’s nothing yet to hold her back. History:
Zevania, affectionately called ‘Zeva’ by most, was born in a small dwelling at the edge of a faerie settlement, some ways south of the River Fairy Kingdom. There are but a handful of people that bore witness to this event, given the complicated circumstances of her birth. Unbeknownst to Zeva, her mother was cousin to the princess of the royal family who married the son of a royal court minister. Though they were not part of the main lineage, these details mattered not to the dark elves who would stop at nothing to smother out the remnants of royal blood that may one day spark rebellion against their reign. So when Malthemoor’s forces successfully conquered the light elves and began massacring the royals, Zeva’s parents became fugitives. In the company of a few loyal guards, they traveled light and crossed the continent with fake identities to evade capture. 

The first few years were hard. There were Malthemoor soldiers littered in many Avalian strongholds and cities, so they mostly stuck to small villages and makeshift outdoor shelters. Towards the end of their journey, Zeva’s parents found themselves in a small fae town. The fairies aided the group in hiding Zeva’s mother and her pregnancy, and it was through their kindness that they were able to live in relative peace and comfort until Zeva’s birth. She had a safe delivery, and Zeva was the shining hope for her parents who had endured much hardship together and represented the accumulation of all the challenges they had overcome. However, fate would not be so kind as to let them savor this small happiness for long. When Zeva was six months old, rumors of a fugitive elf group staying near the fairy kingdom began to circulate and her parents knew that they would have to leave again, find another home. Despite their vigilance, they had already overstayed their welcome, too complacent in their newfound domestic comfort. While they were preparing to leave, dark elf soldiers came knocking at their door. 

“Search the premises!” One of them bellowed as the froot door fell to the ground with a thud, and he scattered his subordinates across the humble home. Zeva’s father frantically fought back the horde of dark elves, but was quickly overwhelmed by their numbers. In the woods behind the property, Zeva was held tightly in the arms of a knight, Ariadne, followed closely by her mother and two additional guards. They had a head start, but the dark elves would make their way to the forest soon. Their pursuit lasted for hours, then days, and Zeva’s mother knew they had to make a choice. The dark elves were not yet aware of Zeva’s existence, so they would not pursue her any further if they believed all the royals they were hunting had been accounted for. They split into two groups, and with a hardened heart, Zeva’s mother stayed behind to lure the dark elves away from Zeva’s escape, leaving behind a single sapphire pendant for her daughter.

Some years passed and Zeva was raised to be a healthy, energetic girl by the two guards who remained, Ariadne and Garrik, who she recognized as her parents. They had quiet lives near the Sun Elf Kingdom, where Ariadne became a seamstress and Garrik a shopkeeper of a general store. Both of them stayed together with the sole purpose of raising Zeva out of the sense of duty they felt towards her late parents. Zeva, who was not made aware of her true identity, had no reason to question her quaint family life and lived as any other young elf. But she couldn’t help but to be drawn to the old weaponry her parents kept lying around the house. What use does a seamstress and shopkeeper have for a chest full of bows, arrows, daggers, and longswords? There had always been stories told to her of the war, of how the dark elves decimated all the things her parents’ held dear, always under hushed, fearful breath. The scars left by the dark elf usurpation ran deep, and she figured her parents had long ago left behind a life on the front lines of the war. Noticing her curiosity, Ariadne and Garrick decided to give Zeva some supplemental lessons to her regular elven schooling. They surmised that with Zeva’s background taken into account, it would benefit her to know how to defend herself. 

To their surprise, Zeva had a natural fighting instinct and showed rapid progression through hand-to-hand combat and weapon use. She had a quick reaction time and nimbleness that proved advantageous in combat, and a creativity that allowed her to react in unexpected ways when cornered. As time flew and Zeva’s hands roughened with constant training, she grasped an advanced proficiency in a variety of weaponry, but her favorite by far was dual wielding daggers. There was something about getting her blade in so close proximity to her enemy that felt right. Melee skill aside, light magic was what Zeva struggled with. She could handle the basics of generating and manipulating light, but there’s not much else she’s managed to do so far. Much of her time is spent throwing and swinging metal around anyway, and she didn’t focus too much on what she couldn’t do.

Eventually, Zeva enrolled in Aegnor Stonel Academy, though a little later than most as she spent her early years in the village where her parents lived. Ariadne and Garrick wished for Zeva to lead a life of peace and for her to do well in her studies to hide in plain sight within elven society. Despite their intentions, Zeva never fully committed herself to academia. She had friends that helped her scrape by with most classes while she spent most of her attention away from school, fluttering about town, finding new places to explore and things to do. When she wasn’t training in the school’s courtyard, Zeva worked part-time at The Oak Tree to help pay for daily expenses.

Princess Amisra Keyrel was born to King Taerel Keyrel and Queen Sarai Keyrel and was groomed to become the next ruler of her kingdom, Thael Taesi. She grew up in a palace filled with love and warmth, surrounded by doting parents and loyal servants. From a young age, Amisra showed a natural aptitude for combat and was trained by the best in the kingdom. Her favorite teacher was General Zarra Malaggar, who was immensely skilled in hand-to-hand combat, bladed weapons, and ranged weapons.

Amisra also became best friends with the General's grandson, Tanithil, who showed a natural talent for magic. Amisra's mother struggled to have any more children, miscarrying many times, until she finally had another little girl. Unfortunately, her mother fell ill after giving birth to her sister, Lyrei, and Amisra took on the responsibility of raising her with the help of servants and her father. Her little sister became her whole world, and she loved her deeply.

However, Amisra's happy life came to an abrupt end when General Malaggar and King Zanithel betrayed her family and seized control of their kingdom. They were given three days to surrender, and Amisra and her family were put under house arrest. Amisra and Tanithil made a plan to get her family out and escape, but as they were packing, they were caught by General Malaggar.

They heard the screams from the other room and came out to find her mother and sister dead. Blind with rage, Amisra attacked Zarra with Tanithil assisting from the side. Amisra's emotions got the better of her, and Zarra won the fight. Before Zarra could strike a killing blow, Tanithil jumped in and saved Amisra but lost his hand in the process. Amisra held her friend in a panic, trying to stop the bleeding and faintly hearing General Zarra be called to back down. In one last fit of anger, Amisra sent a shadow dagger flying at the General and managed to scar her face before Tanithil whisked them out of there.

Only having each other now and being on the run, they found a light elven man who would go on to smuggle them out of Thael Taesi and into the dwarven city of Ironhold on a ship. They spent 40 years there, with Amisra working as a bodyguard for an inventor and keeping up her combat skills. They would go on to meet the light elven man once more, who was now a pirate captain, and join his crew, where they have been for the last 60 years.

⋆ Very active. Living on a ship is more of a workout than many may realize with all the physical labor one has to do.

What are your character’s physical strengths?
⋆ Strength. Amisra is exceptionally strong due to the physical labor she does on the ship along with keeping up her fighting skills. She’s often found climbing the rigging which also helps build her upper body strength.
⋆ Agile. Living on a ship you learn agility rather quickly or you quickly become useless. She has wonderful reflexes and coordination as well due to this.
⋆ Hand-to-hand combat. Being a physical fighter she’s had to learn hand-to-hand combat and she’s had quite a few years and experiences to master it.
⋆ Melee and ranged weapons. She’s trained with all sorts of weapons since she was a child, but she especially excels with falchions, pistols, and bows as these are her weapons of choice.
⋆ High pain tolerance. She’s always naturally had a higher pain tolerance than most, but years of being a pirate and having to build that pain tolerance due to the high injury rate in her job has heightened that tolerance even more.

⋆ Long-distance running. Spending so much time on a ship she doesn't get to practice long distance running much. Her speed when running is more on the average side as well.
⋆ Alcoholic. While not as bad as some, Amisra has turned to alcohol as a way to cope with some of her traumas. Because of this, it can sometimes leave her in a vulnerable state.
⋆ Emotional triggers. She feels things strongly and if she’s triggered emotionally she can go into a blind rage which can be a blessing and a curse as she will lose focus thus letting her guard down.

Personality:

Ismael is an ambivert, neither leaning one way or another. He is able to modify his mannerisms to best fit a situation, but if asked what is his default he would be introverted. By himself, he doesn't go out of his way to find excitement with people, but he does go and do as he pleases without much worry and anxiety of people. He is a pretty selfless person,  he does the bare minimum for himself and has done plenty for others. Ismael is more kind than mean, yet he is not afraid to get mean with someone if it is needed, and he won't be upset or regret it either. Ismael is very selfless in the end, he has on multiple occasions thrown his life to the wind in protecting and saving others. 

Ismael is a very calm and relaxed person, who doesn't lose his composure. He has quite a bit of patience with most people, There are just a few people he just doesn't give the light of day to. Ismael is braver than most, as it takes quite a bit of bravery to put your life on the line for another. Ismael does get nervous and anxious at times, but from experience in combat and training, it never stops him when fighting. He does however have it hold him up in many social situations as he can sometimes overthink or get caught up on something that stops him in his tracks. 

Ismael isn't a smart man, he knows more basics of his time than anything, but what he lacks in conventional intelligence, he makes up with wisdom and life experiences. His charismatic nature is the thing that really makes him special, his nature to attract people had been even noted from a young age as he attracted the children to him with ease. And so too did this happen in his military career and PMC career as well, he always had a natural aura that attracted people. Sometimes for good or bad. Ismael has never lost his sense of humor, just it's changed a little. And overall, he is a very relaxed man, his energy level very rarely wavers, the only time it does is during high stimulant moments like fighting.

General Biography:

Ismael was born into a hard life, his father left his mother before Ismael was even born, and his mother died due to complications. Leaving him alone, no other family took him in so he was passed off to an orphanage to be raised. There he was raised to the age of 7, when finally he was adopted. He was not adopted until then as Ismael wished to stay and take care of the kids around him, as he saw himself as that of a Brother figure, yet a pair of parents wanted him because of that very nature. 

After his adoption, Ismael lived a normal life, a Loving mother and Father in a middle-class family. He went to school, played sports, and did normal things. He did well enough in school, he wasn't the smartest person, be had knowledge and wisdom to learn. Yet the thing that followed him was a smile and laughter that people found. His jokes were goofy, and his demeanor was that of a kind giant. As these years were normal and simple, as when he became old enough he enlisted into the Marine Corps as a Small Arms repairman. He had a wish to serve his country, he always seemed to look at it as an honor 

During his time in the Military, Ismael had made many friends, he took care of people around him as a brother, and quite often he sent money back to the Orphanage that raised him, as a way of thanks to them. During his time, his work was simple, fixing guns and making sure vehicle weapons were in order. Yet things changed when wars kicked up, when he went to reenlist, most Marines were switched over to Rifleman as they were expecting a real fight. And soon, Ismael was thrust into battles, where he showed great skill as a soldier and as a squad leader. He had thrown his life into the line of fire to save fellow Marines, Civilians, and anyone in between. Just one of these days, God decided to call his number as a grenade fell out and landed next to Ismael. As within the moment of seeing it, he threw himself on it, throwing his bag and back onto it and saying his goodbyes. 

Ismael woke up a month later from a coma, as he found he survived the explosion. The grenade had left him badly scarred on his back. Large shrapnel scars covered his back and the sides of his body. The doctors called it a miracle that he survived, if it was a normal person, they would have been dead. Ismael was released a few months later after rehabilitation and therapy. He found his world slightly changed, he had missed a few friends passing, his honorable discharge was handed down, yet the war he was in is still raging. But something strange happened, an old war buddy called him up, asking if he wanted to join a company he was now in. 

Ismael joined the Hershall & Co. logistic incorporated. Here he met some old buddies from before his Reenlistment, they all joined this company under a strange woman. She was a shrewd woman and she dealt in all forms of War, yet her most lucrative business is She is a Weapons Dealer. She sells anything from low-cost Firearms, all the way to stationary artillery weapons. If war is what you want, the Hershall & Co. logistic incorporated can provide you with weapons to fight it. 

Ismael spent the next years in this company, getting closer to the many people within, as they all follow this near insatiable goal the leader of this Company has. Not many knew what she wanted, money? Power? No one knew, but everyone rallied with her as she had this strange charisma that was too hard to move away from. Ismael spent multiple years in this company, not knowing what much to do otherwise, he realized, it was nice here. It was simple and he had many freedoms. They traveled a lot, they did as they pleased, and Ismael was given more money than he knew what to do with. So, he sent it back to his family and the Orphanage, he did keep a bit to himself in a bank account. 

He wasn't just a bodyguard to this woman though. He was also a weapon she used quite often, everyone was used in the same way. They didn't only protect her, they did what she wanted them to do, so if she wanted someone dead, they would do it. She wanted to have them steal top secret information? It was done. She needed them to pull her out of Hell itself? One’s already taken the Devil’s daughter as a hostage. This fervent nature and willingness didn't come from her being their employer, this came from their loyalty to her. Everyone here was family, they would bleed, sweat, and die for each other. Ismael had shown this on multiple occasions as he had taken many bullets for those around him, he had gotten into fights for them, and he has killed for them. 

His life was okay, and he was more than willing to live his life this, until one night while he was about to go to bed, a portal opened up and sucked him and his bed into the portal. As he came through he realized he appeared in some strange place. He hopped to the pillows where he kept his bed gun, yet he found it was gone as he thought back and remembered that he placed it on his dresser. Now he found himself in a strange new place without anything other than his Dog tags, his fists, and his underwear.

⋆ Ismael has been active since he could walk and as large as an ox from the day he reached middle school. He had always been quite athletic and had constantly improved himself either out of his own enjoyment or for his work. Being at his peak prime years Ismael is quite the force to be reckoned with. 

⋆ Ismael is strong and athletic, having a very powerful body. This body however was not forged through intense weight lifting and strict diet watching. Ismael gained the strength to lift multiple men, run fast, and climb quickly through calisthenics and work. He won't be winning any competitions for weight lifting, nor fastest sprints, but that never mattered to Ismael. He needed to be fast enough, strong enough, and have enough endurance to do intense work all day.

What are your character’s physical strengths?

⋆ Incredible Strength- Ismael’s overall muscular size and strength makes him a hard opponent to fight as his reach, size, and strength means he can bully most people in a fight. 
⋆ Indomitable Spirit- Even when death calls, Ismael doesn’t answer. Having an incredible tolerance to pain, few things make Ismael flinch, let alone knock him on his ass.
⋆ Body of Iron- Attacks and hits that would be considered lethal have never dropped Ismael. Bullets, knives, even grenades had not killed Ismael. As his body’s ability to survive can be considered beyond human.
⋆ Excellent Dexterity- From much of Ismael’s work, his hands became quite good at working and manipulating fine and small objects. With quick and fast hands Ismael’s dexterity makes his knife work and sleight of hand sublime.
⋆ Great Agility- Being his size, many expect Ismael to be less agile, yet that is quite the opposite. From training and working Ismael has became quite quick in a run, great at shifting his momentum for fast changes in velocity, and is quite good at free running/parkour.

⋆ Large Size vs. Cramped spaces- Being so big comes with the disadvantage of being unable to fit into smaller crawl spaces without greater effort.
⋆ Over Stimulation- Ismael’s senses are incredibly sharp and honed further, yet that can also be used against him when trying to distract as if done properly small things can be shifted and changed to actually distract or even hurt and dull those senses.

Bladed Combat: Ismael has had a strong focus in melee combat with a weapon in a hand, ever since he was a young man he had played with a knife, it was not until his wish to join the military did he focus upon it, making a near decade of practice and experience. However the better half of that year was under tutelage and constant honing, practice, and true application making those years much more meaningful. The blades he has worked the most with straight edged bayonet combat knives, large curved blades like the Kukuri, and small reverse curved blades like the karambit. 

Firearm Combat: Ismael’s experience with a firearm is quite extensive as a larger portion of his military career was operating and maintaining firearms. Then becoming a marine rifleman had him test his skills. After which in his career as a Private Military Contractor his skills were further honed with new weapons entering his hands. From a carbine to a rifle, a machine gun to a Marksman rifle, Ismael had tested his mettle and his sharp shooting with anything that entered his hands. However that does not mean he doesn’t have a favorite weapon, a simple handgun, something light, easy to conceal, and if used properly, immensely deadly.

Hand-to-Hand Combat:
Being born so large and physically imposing, Ismael naturally leaned towards a more physical nature. FInding himself into scraps and brawls wasn’t uncommon and he became quite good at them. Proper training in unarmed combat came later on in his life when Ismael was in the military and then as a private military contractor. His unarmed combat focus leans towards highly efficient and lethal styles and moves such as Kali, Krav Maga, Lerdrit, Sambo, and the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. All of these being focused on powerful strikes, takedowns, and incredible aggression. These styles are all enhanced by the introduction of weapons as they are often made to be fast to then disable and mai to retrieve an improvised weapon, yet that does not mean these styles aren’t incredibly lethal.

From all of the time spent studying, Enstille has extensive knowledge but that leads to his very shallow understanding of social environments as well as standard common sense. His academic interest in historical events, locations and artifacts proves very useful when needed. In addition, his understanding of Light magic has led him to a very unique control over it, often accomplishing things that do not follow the standard "rules". History:

Enstille was the only child of Balerin and his frail wife, Anabelle. Unfortunately, to Balerin's ire, Anabelle could not conceive any more children after Enstille. Balerin is a very prominent trader in Iluminata and beyond. He once had dreams of a strong and hearty child to share the business with but was sorely disappointed as Enstille displayed much of his mother's frailty and interest in the academic pursuits. After Enstille's birth her health declined, leaving her mostly bedridden these days. 

In Enstille's young days, he would read instead of play outside. He is lacking in stamina but makes up for it in his intelligence. Some time later, upon entering Aegnor Stonel Academy, his passion for history and knowledge began to truly sprout. He did not make friends in these days, instead finding companionship in the historical figures. Along the way, he learned of the humans that had once walked in this world. This sparked a major flame of curiosity in him that he was never truly able to satiate since the humans were purged from the world. He now studies everything he can find, every artifact related to them, at every chance he can get.

As that information ran out, he found more history to study. Rise and falls of kingdoms, battle accounts, the progression of technology and understanding of magic. If there's a historical topic to study, he has. He's even studied philosophy, though he couldn't quite connect with it. He has a collection in his office/library of ancient artifacts, some he knows the purpose of, some were left behind by the humans from their previous world. History(2 paragraph minimum):

Raised amongst the royal court of the Sun Kingdom by his parents Claderith Dyewynn and his wife Forsythia, Rowan was the firstborn that they had brought into the world. He was the evidence of the affection his chaste and celibate father had for Forsythia. Soon after him, Aurora was next added to the family. Dedicated to his family and protecting the Sun Kingdom, Rowan joined the military as soon as he became of age. There he was taught the ways of combat and defense while his mother taught him the ways of chivalry and the court.

When war came to the Sun Kingdom, Rowan eagerly took his assignment, bidding his family farewell. The war hardened him, as it does to all. He earned many accolades by his ability and bravery. One battlefield that had turned against them lead to him saving a squad of fairy combatants and enabling their escape. Earning the scar on his check from that battle, he was rewarded by the Fairies with his bow.

Returning home whilst losing the war was very hard for him. Now, he serves as he can protecting the court, hoping for one day to have a chance to repay their oppressors in kind. Since then, he has taken up the mantle of Head of their house. With their father's death, Aurora has taken his place as the spiritual advisor and he cares for the rest.

Masako is much like a statue, quiet and observant. Having been around people since her creation she can move among them with little effort. She uses her interaction with others as a learning opportunity, to better understand the world around her. A matron to the young and innocent she acts much like a traditional mother would. There is a warmth to her that sometimes makes you forget she is a mere living construct. 

Dealing with children requires an almost inhuman amount of patience. Masako knows how to play the waiting game and she's never lost, because she doesn't tire. There aren't many things that scare her which allows her to be brave and act without fear. She strikes fast and hard, demanding discipline and order. 
 
Not dim witted by any means Masako's intelligence is rather situational. She is clever in areas and subjects that are familiar. Much of the world is still unknown to her and stepping into the unknown is bound to come with mistakes. Masako's unfamiliarity with mundane things often makes her the butt of a joke. Current Equipment: Masako carries a hidden Iaito concealed in the handle of an oil-paper parasol. 

History:
Masako was created with the purpose of serving as a home protection automaton of a rich elven family living in the Ironhold. The family commissioned her from an artisan dwarf known for his unique creations. They needed something that appeared non threatening to protect the most precious jewels they owned, their children. Masako watched over them while they slept in their little cribs, snuck out of their rooms at night, played in the garden and went on trips outside of Ironhold. Over the years the family requested improvements to keep up with the unpredictability of growing children. This resulted in Masako becoming able to adapt to different situations. This wasn't without fail, as she was still only an automaton. 

Eventually Masako's family sought to weaponize her, sending the automaton back to her creator. He improved her strength, endurance and speed and gave her a weapon to wield apart from her own body. Most importantly however he forged something for her she never had before, a heart. The runes created with the Celestone changed Masako from the cold, lifeless but ever present automaton to the mother the children always wished she could become. It allowed her to experience love, fueling her desire to protect the children she helped to raise. 

Shortly after her return, during a quiet and uneventful night, Masako discovered the children were not in their beds. Someone or something had whisked them away without a trace. She remembers this event vividly because this was the first time she experienced loss.

History:

Aerilyn grew up in the impoverished slums of Roshmi, a part of the city where survival was a daily struggle. From her earliest memories, she knew nothing of family or comfort. Instead, her days were filled with scavenging for scraps of food amidst the piles of trash and resorting to theft to eke out an existence. Desperation often pushed her to extreme measures, even to the point of resorting to murder when her very life hung in the balance.

At the age of ten, Aerilyn's bleak existence took a surprising turn. She was discovered on the side of a dilapidated street in the slums, near death and being viciously attacked by a pack of feral dogs. It was an old and weathered creature hunter named Garen, a Demi-human with goat-like features, who came to her rescue. Moved by compassion for the dying girl, Garen took Aerilyn under his wing, becoming her mentor and teacher.

For the next fifteen years, Aerilyn trained rigorously under Garen's watchful eye. Each day was filled with intense exercise and grueling workout sessions, sculpting her body into a formidable force. But it was with the great hammer that Aerilyn found her true calling. Garen imparted her vast knowledge of creatures, teaching Aerilyn the intricacies of tracking, ruin exploration, and other essential survival techniques. History: Born in Roshmi. Raised in Roshmi. Dad was a smith, mom was an enchanter. Got my dad's solid breath and most of my mom's solid scales, which worked for me. Gold would just ruin the fucking vibe and I like being the personification of rebellion. Dad hated it but he could shut his snout and swallow his breath weapon for all I cared. 

During my fifteenth year of living, I found my passion after watching a dwarven band shred during a family business trip to Ironhold. I know what you're thinking. Family. Business. Trip. For the most part, I couldn't stand them but it was during one where I found my passion. Then I started a band… Okay, I started several bands. Sure, they all failed one way or another. People either didn't know their place or couldn't live up to my talent. My dad thought otherwise, trying to stifle my flame by trying to make me his successor. I did a little bit here and there but it wasn't really my thing. 

Oh yeah, the war happened. Roshmi got hit so hard and fast but the family business never skipped a beat. Went from making weapons and armor for Roshmi to making them for Malthemoor with twice the demand. My parents were happy but me, nah. I couldn't be a sellout like that. New laws, new restrictions, renaming kingdoms, and worst of all, my favorite band… dead. I packed up my shit and started anew. Changed my whole look, and I don't mean with one of those tacky disguise rings. My shit was done solid! Authentic. Thraash Ferno was born!

I started playing for amas as a one-man show and selling whatever weapons I could make in most places that would have me. Oh, and I made damn sure it wasn't for those bruise-skinned pointy-eared fucks. But the wrong people eventually caught on to my selectiveness of course and I got roughed up pretty bad. So do you know what I did? I stopped playing my music altogether. 

I stopped playing my music because I was building a fucking destroyer! A ravager! A weaponized instrument of death! Sure, I thanked my dad for passing on his handiness but this creation was mine alone. An ax-guitar that I could use to take the fight back to the current system!

Then I built my Muse Tank, a special amplifier that would see my mom green with envy. I didn't need friends! I didn't need a band! I was the band! Ahahahahaha! 

I ran with a few would-be rebels but like usual, I got grouped up with others that just couldn't make the cut. In other words, they died, got captured, or quit, leaving this dragonborn to pave his own path once more. It was just me but I was hitting small convoys and patrols of dark-elven militants like a basilisk out of hell! 

Well, until some elf girl fucked things up for me. Got us captured because she wanted to take my claim on a patrol and wouldn't shut her fucking snout about it. I couldn't tell you how long our shouting match was but I was winning. Anyway, we broke out and brought hell to the camp we were being held in. Burned everything! We both liked setting things on fire and she had decent talent at taking dark elves off the board so… we linked up. Her name's “Mari” and even if she's just a groupie, she's been the only one that's kept up with me this long, so she's solid.

History:

It would’ve seemed that Scathael was destined for an average life. 

He wasn’t born to anyone of note – his parents were magically gifted, for sure, but they weren’t exceptionally powerful by any stretch of the imagination – and the village in which he grew up was one so small that most cartographers simply glossed over it on their maps. Really, it was more of a hamlet, and a small one at that. The nearest town was at least a day’s ride away, and there was nothing that attracted even the most curious of wayfarers. Life was quiet, solitary, and peaceful.

Throughout his childhood, Scathael’s parents did their best to pass on their knowledge to their son, but it was evident as he grew up that magic wasn’t where his talents lay. Rather, it was the forge, the anvil, the carpenter’s bench, the tanner’s rack, anything related to making things, with which he had an affinity. His parents, rather than forcing him to be something he wasn’t, instead encouraged him to nurture and build upon his innate talent. Though he still had to practise magic, it was more to maintain what skills he had rather than to develop them any further. 

It didn’t take long for him to learn all he could in his little hamlet. If he wanted to go any further, he’d have to venture out to the bigger towns and cities. His parents were naturally reluctant to let their only son leave on his own, but Scathael eased their worries by showing that he could adequately take care of himself with the bow. Neither did he have any intention of leaving home for good; he’d journey in search of teachers and masters to learn from, but his path would always lead him back to the little cottage on the outskirts of the nameless hamlet. In due time, he even became something of a general tradesman for the rest of the villagers. To spend the rest of his life in such a way didn’t seem unappealing in the least to Scathael. It was more than what he could’ve wished for.

Fate, however, had other plans for him.

Scathael no longer talks about that day, but memories of it still linger vividly in his mind. He had only just returned from a hunt when he found his parents killed. Not murdered. He’d never use that word to describe what happened. Murder implies that someone had planned for his parents to die. Murder implied that there was a reason for their death. But that wasn’t the case. He simply found them both cold on the autumn grass, the arrows which took their lives still lodged in their bodies. A dozen bodies surrounding them told him that they at least didn’t go easily, but it was little consolation.

He never did find out the exact reason for his parents’ deaths. Their neighbours – all of whom lived a fair distance away – told him that it all stemmed from a heated argument between his father and a roving band of hunters. Or outlaws, or mercenaries, or any other type of group, depending on whom he asked. But regardless, one thing remained constant. It had just been a misunderstanding gone horribly, and violently, wrong. Nothing more.

It was that randomness that devastated Scathael the most. A targeted killing, he could perhaps rationalise it away. He could maybe even plan revenge to soothe his heart, but something like this? There was nothing for him to do but mourn and try to continue living. He resolved to stay in the hamlet his parents had so resolutely refused to leave in an attempt to honour their memory, but that proved to be far too difficult. Every sweet memory he had in the old cottage slowly became daggers pricking his heart, and soon he grew to despise the place.

And so he left. He had no choice. 

Barely an adult, he struck out on a path to places unknown. First, he wandered about Daka Island, using his skills to earn some coin wherever he found himself. Then, when he ran out of places to explore, he took ship to lands further out. It wasn’t easy – he didn’t exactly grow up with much exposure to the world beyond his isolated cocoon – but he adapted quickly enough. As it turned out, cultures varied across peoples, but the need for a skilled hammer or deft chisel didn’t, especially in the smaller villages he often found himself. Being able to put his skills to good use, and being able to use them to pay his way to so many new and exciting places, and along the way discover new methods of crafting and materials, did plenty to soothe the pain that had been plaguing his heart. 

Then one day, he met a certain Rezirael Illimac.

She’d been a wanderer like him, though her business lay more towards exploring old ruins and delving into caves in search of treasure rather than wanderlust. Their relationship had been strictly professional at the beginning. She needed her tools and weapons maintained in places that could be days away from any settlement, and he needed the coin she earned to fund his need for progressively rarer and more expensive materials. It was a mutually-beneficial relationship that suited the both of them just fine. It didn’t hurt that their personalities complemented each other, too; her fiery passion melted his restrictive caution, and his calm logic tempered her reckless eagerness. 

What was supposed to be a temporary partnership turned into something semi-permanent, and then it became strange for either to be away from the other for long. As the time they spent together grew, so too did their relationship deepend. They became fast friends, then close confidants. Neither kept any secret from the other, and their nights were often spent in quiet places swapping stories about their pasts. It was thus only natural that romance would bloom between the two. Scathael still remembers the exact moment it happened. They’d been simply talking as usual after a long day. He’d been going on and on about something – likely related to crafting or materials  – when Rezirael kissed him. It’d been a surprise, but one he quickly and eagerly reciprocated. And once they confirmed their love for each other, their bond only grew all the stronger as the days passed.

They still adventured, and explored, and delved together, but between their travels, talk of settling down began to bubble. It started as just a flight of fancy to be laughed over a campfire. Just a nice thought and nothing more. Then, as they added more and more details to that fantasy, it stopped being a mere dream and became more of a goal to be achieved. Between the two of them, they had more than enough coin to sustain them if they stopped their adventures, and in the right place, Scathael’s skills would likely be more than enough to support the both of them and perhaps even a family. Soon enough, it became something that he hungered for; a life he couldn’t wait to start.

And that was when his old friend, fate, paid him another visit.

Scathael hadn’t been there. Rezirael had decided to scout a cave on her own while he remained at camp to repair damaged tools. As night fell, and she didn’t return, Scathael’s worry finally managed to push him to search for her. He found her in the cave she’d been exploring, half-buried and crushed beneath a mound of rocks and dirt. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t dig her out of it, but his efforts would’ve been all for naught even if he’d succeeded. Scathael buried her where she laid, left only with a diary she’d left with him listing the sights and places she wanted to see before they could settle down.

That diary now sits with the rest of his meagre belongings in his travelling knapsack. Every place and every sight, he went and he saw, and he made sure to write down every last detail. But he didn’t stop there. He couldn’t stop there. Fate had made its message clear, and the price Scathael paid for his ignorance had been steep. Too steep. If the death of his parents had cracked his spirit, then Rezirael’s passing shattered it entirely, and he patched it back together with flax thread and leather hide; with hewn oak and forged steel. Settling down was not meant for him. To wander, to discover, and to create better and better things was his lot in life, and he’d been a fool to fight it. All he could do was move. And move. And move some more. 

And maybe one day, he’d move far enough to escape this unwanted fate.

⋆ Scathael is very active. He has to be. As a survivalist-of-sorts, he hunts his own food when living in the wild (and sometimes when living in a settlement, even), chops his own wood for fire and shelter, and digs his own little holes when the terrain allows.

⋆ Good endurance; Scathael endeavours to spend his nights in settlements as much as possible, and that means trekking long distances with whatever he owns on his person.
⋆ Stealth; Scathael dislikes direct confrontations, and so has learned how to either skulk away from confrontations, or end them from the safety of the shadows as much as possible.
⋆ Accuracy; related to the above, Scathael has good aim with both bow and musket. Not only does that help to end a fight quickly, it also saves him labour. Bullets and arrows are tedious things to make.

What are your character’s physical weaknesses?
⋆ Poor offensive magic; Scathael has always been a middling sorcerer, and his years of refusing to use his abilities haven’t done him any favours. He only ever uses magic to shroud himself in darkness to make a quick exit.

Not social at all. Five only speaks either when being spoken to, assuming the individual addressing him is worth his time, or when seeking information regarding a current objective. He is very selective in adding statements to a current conversation and most often would rather remain silent.

Mostly selfish. Very rarely does Five consider the needs of others unless it conveniences him. If he does perform any selfless acts, they are most likely objectional and situational.

Five isn't actively malicious though benevolence isn't a strong suit either. He is reactionary and falls within the mindset of dispensing kind or mean actions toward those who deserve them. In a world where Warforged are without rights and are susceptible to mistreatment and enslavement, Five is very wary of others. As such he requires individuals to prove themselves, unless they somehow manage to make him open up to them.

Although Five is able to remain cool and keep his newfound emotions well enough under control, he does have some particular buttons (figurative buttons) that, when pressed, can bring him to anger.

Patient would be the proper term to describe Five. His analytical mind (and all the technical processes and jargon involved) mostly prevents him from taking irrational actions until a proper course is determined. In combat, this translates into methodically targeting and dispatching opponents. Impulsive acts, should the need suddenly arise, would be very circumstantial for Five to perform.

Five is no coward although 'bravery' wouldn't be a great word used to describe him either. Five was built and programmed to wage war upon whoever his designated enemy is without hesitation, typically in the most efficient and often brutal ways possible. There are very few situations that can make Five second-guess or hesitate. Most of the time, Five is resolute when taking action. If he were to struggle in carrying out a specific action, it is more than likely influenced by uncontainable emotion.

If raw emotions are kept away (and they often are) from being a component within a situation, Five's mechanical body and mind alone can react faster than any organic being could hope to achieve physically, or even mentally in some instances.

Though Five prefers taking on bounties involving large troublesome creatures, he will occasionally hunt down wanted individuals. Should the bounty offer equivalent or more amas compared to the amount for their head, Five may turn a blind eye and accept their offer, provided they can actually pay him on the spot.

Five is always looking to make money, though his income, wherever that may come from, is hardly ever used on luxuries. Trinkets mean very little to him unless they are somehow extremely symbolic. The amas he earns is always devoted towards the upkeep of his armored shell. Lacking a very specific enhancement that may allow him to self-repair damage done to him, he is reliant on paying individuals to maintain and repair him. His near-reckless fighting style is what necessitates these appointments. Money is life after all.

⋆ Juat being honest

Deception plays a crucial role while in the thick of battle, a concept Five is very much familiar with. However, Five is seemingly incapable of taking that same concept and adjusting to a social environment. Basically, Five can't lie or mislead others. Even an attempt made by him to lie to someone results in a conversation becoming quickly awkward. As such he will only speak the truth, which also leads to some equally awkward moments of blurting out raw unfiltered facts that can set some sensitive people off.

⋆ Chemical Fogger - A device built into Five's "mouth". The fogger emits a mist from his head and from several vents all over his body. The mists he can generate have a number of effects and have a range of up to 30ft. The standard mist is simply a thick shroud that obstructs the vision of his opponents. Five can also release toxic gasses that can poison or paralyze enemies. Finally, a stimulating drug that temporarily enhances the physical abilities of biological beings.

History:

Amalgam V, Five’s original name, was built by the Dwarves during the Malthemoor Kingdom’s invasion of Avalia. Though being a part of a limited production of a series of super-heavy Warforged platforms, Amalgam V was initially mindless like the rest of his mechanical kin. At some point, Celestone was incorporated into his framework, imbuing him with newfound sentience. The ability to think and adapt to his environment vastly improved Amalgam V’s killing capacity. Indeed, he and the rest of his line were one of the more effective Warforged legions set loose upon the Dark Elf armies and were responsible and causing the invaders to suffer many casualties during those battles. 

Yet this was still not enough, and the Dark Elves conquered the Dwarves, effectively removing them and their creations from the war which was soon nearing its end. Despite having the intelligence to that of any other person, Amalgam V was still shackled by an enhancement that made him and the rest of his kin obedient to their Dwarven masters. At the time, he did not resent this. It was then that Amalgam V’s line was instructed to be disposed of; an order that no doubt came from an angered Dark Elf general who witnessed the Warforged’ violence set against them. Amalgam V was rendered inactive and was sent to a facility to be destroyed…

…that was the plan anyway until Amalgam V reawakened and found himself in a crater within the wastelands South of Dugmaghord. The Warforged had scanned his surroundings but couldn't find anything familiar. No Dark Elves, no Dwarves, no other Warforged. And somehow, the obedience enhancement was removed. Amalgam V was free, so to speak, but with no given purpose or directive. With little direction to go by, Amalgam V wandered the wastes for years before managing to trek and fight his way North. By this time, he has settled with calling himself Five, a result of the citizens of Illuminata and Roshmi City shortening his full name. Five now makes money as a bounty hunter in order to survive and keep himself maintained.

His end goal however is to make his way back to Iron Hold to find out why or how he ended up so far away, as well as to determine the fate of his Warforged kin.

What are your character’s physical strengths?

⋆ Super Strength - Being built to carry an insanely heavy greatsword that is nearly as big as you does have its advantages. Five is capable of delivering deadly punches and applying fatal crushing force to anything within his grasp, breaking bones and bodies with relative ease. Sturdier materials such as stone or metal could be pulverized or dented at the very least under the same blows. He can even lift objects weighing more than twice his own weight.

⋆ Olympian - As a Warforged, the concept of tiring is irrelevant. It is possible for him to fight indefinitely, that is, if he isn't grounded down first.

⋆ Battleship-like - Five's body was designed to assault ranks of infantry and fortifications. Like turrets on a warship, Five can move his body in ways organic beings could never pull off, such as rotating his torso almost 180 degrees while other joints could spin a full 360. Additionally, his heavy armor is immune to most forms of conventional weapons and is only harmed by larger-than-normal arms, cannons, or magic.

⋆ 360 No-Scope - Five possesses incredible vision, allowing him to see through objects, see through dark places or at night, and even see things in different spectrums as well. Five can also shift his three eyes all over his head, practically enabling him to see in all directions.

⋆ Dragster - Being nearly twice as tall as the average human, Five's stride enables him to sprint and catch up to opponents... in a straight line. Five is unable to chase foes who are light on their feet and who can effortlessly bob and weave out of harm's way. His body can do many things but quickly changing directions of his feet at a moment's notice isn't one of them.

⋆ Mechanic Required - Healing magic is ineffective and only a trained professional can repair any serious damage he sustains.

⋆ Sitting Duck - Five has no real way to counter ranged or magical attacks and must close the distance to engage distant adversaries.

⋆ Routine Maintenance - Five is very high maintenance, more so than most Warforged, and will need regular repairs if he fights too often.

Mari is a self-proclaimed life of the party. She’s a particular extrovert, seemingly thriving in the presence of others only to push them away when they stick around too long. By no means shy, she says when she wants, when she wants to. Her behavior towards others is usually friendly as she is loud and opinionated, dominating a conversation she wasn’t necessarily even invited into. She’s more likely to throw her arms around strangers and kiss their cheeks for the hell of it than to accept a sympathetic hug. 

She would sooner set herself ablaze than expose her vulnerability to others. Yet, beneath her fiery exterior lies a fiercely loyal individual who will fight tooth and nail for her friends and even strangers. Driven by a deep sense of justice, she possesses an overwhelming willingness to engage in conflicts. Mari doesn’t like to admit it, but she acts as if she has something to prove and is always too stubborn to back down. Her temper and her rashness are some of her worst qualities. This isn’t always the case. Though impatient in many instances, in battle or in a situation where she must plan, she’s extremely fast on her feet and resourceful. Mari is clever and certainly feels she has a good sense of when she needs to step back and craft one of her master plans or if she can wing it as per usual.

History:
Rosamira was born a hundred and twenty-five years ago to Caralia and Malachi Elowyn. Raised under wealth and comfort, the Elowyns had an enjoyable life together thanks to the life Caralia and Malachi had built for them. She had an older brother named Balin, who was very much like his father in temperament and pride. He had always been there to take care of Rosamira and their younger brother Gael. Meanwhile, Gael was her partner in crime. Rosamira adored Gael more than anything in the world and constantly looked after him from the moment she could.

From the moment she took her first steps, Rosamira was playing pranks and the token fireball of the family. Despite some of the flaws that came with such a personality, she was fiercely loyal and would stand up for anyone in need. Her parents, Caralia and Malachi, had initially attempted to mold her into a vision of femininity, dressing her in pretty dresses and adorning her hair with delicate curls. However, being constantly in the company of her two brothers, Rosamira gradually gravitated towards her own unique sense of style. At only fifteen years old, she had been too young to even know who she was yet when fate abruptly shattered the ground beneath her feet.

Her father had suddenly brought them all to a house that was not theirs. Then her father left. It had been sudden to Rosamira and Gael, who had not even known a war had broken out.  The days had gone by and they had been essentially trapped within the house until the dark elves had closed in on the Sun Elf Kingdom and on the home they resided in. There had unfortunately not been enough time for a warning.  Her aunt and uncle were first to die as they had barged into the home. Caralia, her mother desperately pled for the mercy of her children. However, she had done so, in reality, to stall so Balin could sneak the two younger ones out the second-floor window, though Rosamira had to be thrown over his shoulder. Balin brought the two of them to the woods and told them to run, while he went back for Caralia. 

Rosamira, for once, was not stubborn. She prioritized protecting her younger sibling and took him into the woods, where they hid and hoped for a long hour for Balin to come back.  Though unfortunately, the two of them were found and it wasn’t by Balin. This resulted in an encounter where Gael lost his life. After hiding out for a long time, Rosamira did return to the house, only to find out why Balin never came back. Overcome with emotion and anger, she made a decision then and there. She swapped her clothes and left all the belongings she could for her father to find and she lit the house on fire. 

Then she made sure she was never seen again from that day and that the world thought Rosamira Elowyn had perished along with the rest of her family. She did not know quite how she’d pull it off, but she knew she would not stop until those who had paid for what they had done. She abandoned her identity and her life completely, deciding to live on the streets and in hiding from her father whom she knew would do everything to stop her. Not wanting to completely lose the name she was given, she shifted some of the final letters and went by the name of Mari from then on. 

In order to get a start on her warning, Mari used a disguise ring she stole to join the army, pretending to be older than she was. She managed to last a brief time before she was thrown out and imprisoned, somewhere she’d frequented in and out of over the years. However, being in prison gave her the chance to train hand to hand combat with an inmate who mentored her named Nienna. The two eventually broke out together and Nienna introduced her to a small rebel group in Roshmi, where she continued training with. In exchange for their guidance, Mari actively contributed to the group's movements and orchestrated strategic attacks. She had a knack and love for setting anything and everything on fire. While she occasionally engaged in mercenary work in the past, Mari predominantly sustained herself through thievery, finding solace and excitement within the bustling streets. Mari could never settle down after all. She was tough on herself and dedicated, always training and trying to be stronger so she could stop the dark elves, perhaps seeing herself as more important than she was at times.

However, it was only a few decades ago that Mari made a permanent companion of a dragonborn named Thraash after the two of them had broke out of capture together and she’s kept him around ever since as they worked well together, though Mari probably would never admit so.

☽Sirena was once a winter fairy who was vibrant, energetic, and full of life. She loved magic and was eager to grow up into a beautiful fairy. She had loving parents and a warm home, she was safe and protected. 

However, Sirena was snatched when she was a child by the minions of Zalthraxis. While in Zalthraxis's clutches, Sirena became a victim of relentless torture. His minions subjected her to unspeakable horrors, their sadistic actions leaving indelible scars upon her body, mind, and soul. The pain and suffering were so intense that her once vibrant hair turned stark white, and her once expressive eyes transformed into an icy blue hue, mirroring the coldness that had been forced upon her.

As the torment wore on, Sirena's fragile mind crumbled under the weight of her anguish. The incessant abuse caused her to spiral into a state of madness, disconnecting her from reality. 

In her fractured state, she found herself able to see and communicate with the tormented spirits that were trapped between worlds. Ghostly apparitions and anguished souls became a constant presence, their haunting whispers and sorrowful cries forever echoing in her ears.
Yet, Sirena's life was a tragic symphony of sorrow. The ghosts that plagued her every step, their presence an inescapable reminder of her tortured past, continued to haunt her relentlessly. They whispered tales of lost loves, broken dreams, and unfulfilled desires, their spectral presence serving as a constant torment, driving her further into the depths of her own madness.

Life after the torture Sirena was left broken and lost, forced to navigate a world that felt alien and cruel. The scars of her past torments left her incapable of trusting others, and she found solace in the shadows, living on the streets and scraping by in the most meager of ways.

In her desperate struggle to survive, Sirena discovered an unlikely talent for scavenging and unearthing forgotten treasures from the darkest corners of the world. She ventured into abandoned ruins, cursed forests, and desolate catacombs, scouring these forsaken places in search of trinkets and artifacts. She became a wandering merchant, selling these eerie finds to those who dared seek her out, often attracting those who were drawn to the mysteries of the occult.☾

⋆ Eros is more so introverted, preferring the company of himself and at most, a small group. He'd rather be amongst critters and animals than crowds of people. However, people have the propensity to grow on him after some time of him getting used to them.

⋆ Eros is quite selfish when it comes to his belongings but is willing to help others if they are in need. They just can't use or take his things. He would rather give someone something of their own, even if it takes more time and effort.

⋆ Eros treats people based on how he perceives them. If he feels or thinks someone is polite and innocent, then he'll treat them nicely. On the other hand, he finds it quite easy to be mean to someone he thinks deserves his ire. He often has prejudice towards certain races that feed into this such as light elves being regal yet snooty and orcs being simple-minded brutes.

⋆ Eros will touch anything he's never touched before as long as he believes it won't do him serious harm. He often gives firm pokes to people to grab their attention rather than calling their name to address them. At the same time he also doesn't mind others touching him but even he has his limits.

⋆ Eros' trust is usually predetermined by his prejudices. If you dress like a rogue, he likely assumes you'll steal from him. If you're a friendly-looking fairy, he likely believes you're a nice non-combative hippie. One must prove his prejudices and stereotypes wrong as an individual to get him to consider thinking otherwise.

⋆ Eros is difficult to anger but once he pops his lid, it's a sight one won't forget since he will throw a full-on tantrum.

⋆ Eros is frighteningly patient, having the ability to wait a problem out if it takes hours or up to an entire day. His stubborn nature plays very well into this.

⋆ He's far from cowardly and will show courage in the face of adversity. This can make him reckless as it can take a bit of convincing for him to identify that he needs to pack up and run.

History: Eros was born in the beautiful cold island of North Pass to two agents of Blizzard. Blizzard was the policing force for the island with close ties to the well-respected monks who reside in the mountains overseeing the goings of the island settlement. Eros' parents and grandparents happened to be affiliated with both, understanding the duty of protecting North Pass and ensuring peace remained for its people.

He grew up knowing that one day he would follow in his family's footsteps and like them, be the bridge between the North Pass monks and Blizzard. The young Eros was proud of his heritage and took on the humble teachings of the monks. He had his shortfalls, being quite wild with his temper but was taught the value of patience. 

Eros was in his mid twenties when he was told the tale of his late grandfather. His grandfather whom he had been handpicked to provide support to the Roshmi Kingdom when the Malthemoor army made landfall. It was unfortunate that he did not return from the conflict but was revered hero amongst the settlers of North Pass. The revelation meant to imbue pride in the young Eros only filled the young man's heart with despondence. He had many questions for the monks and Blizzard as they seemed to have simply bent the knee to King Zanithel but he was instructed by his father to pursue peace in the face of mercy. He was warned that vengeance poisoned one's spirit. So for many years, he remained bitterly silent but as he grew into maturity, Eros found that his strong opinions occasionally flung from his tongue toward his superiors. He couldn't ignore the fact that Roshmi and its lesser territories had given up so easily. How his father could seemingly forget what his grandfather was sent forth to fight for.

It was during the Riverbloom rebellion when Eros found himself unable to hold his tongue any longer again. Patience had reached its limit. He thought the monks and Blizzard could be doing something to make a difference. That they could rebel themselves or place their support to a group that would. His words fell on deaf ears. His thoughts and ideas viewed as paths toward unnecessary violence. A call to war that no one else desired. Again, Eros' bitterness grew. No longer did he wish to be like those who settled for inaction. If he was to do nothing, then he couldn't see himself holding a title that was meant to foster wisdom and protection of others. It was about a decade ago when he left North Pass, unwilling to face his father and the monks in his decision. 

Purchasing a small fishing boat, Eros traveled as far as it would take him, and that happened to be Roshmi of all places. He had initially planned to reside there but found the city unpleasant. There were far too many people and so much of the city reminded him of how the citizens of what was once a kingdom were the first to surrender in the great war. So he decided to place himself in the wilds north of the massive city, where he could live out the next ten years as a foraging hermit. There were no dark elves, no rules, and no contadictuon to his way of living.

Besides the abilities granted by his demihuman heritage, Eros possesses the uncanny ability to willfully channel mana and draw it out in a raw tangible form. He can use the mana channeling to multiply his combat prowess twofold, infuse mana into his strikes, and even heal minor wounds. His mana reserves are quite low, requiring him to drink a blue potion to jumpstart this ability. After using this ability, Eros experiences fatigue and needs to get adequate rest before he can use it again. He can push himself into using this ability twice in a row but it will result in him losing consciousness altogether. With more training, he may be able to condition himself to the strain, project his mana at a higher output, increase his own mana reserves, and even disrupt the mana flow of others with well-placed strikes. 

Eros is currently out of practice with using this ability, only leaning on it as a last result. When using this ability, Ero's fur shimmers and his eyes become silver in color.

History:
Let’s talk about Vasco DeLuca, yeah? He never knew his parents – dumped at some church doorstep. Typical sob story, but Vasco didn’t stick around crying about it. Nah, he bolted from that orphanage faster than a cat on a hot tin roof and took to the streets like a fish to water. This was during Prohibition, mind you, when the whole city was a speakeasy in disguise and the streets were as mean as they come. But Vasco, see, he was street-smart. Started with small-time swindles and thievery, to get by. Eventually, he joined up with the local toughs and, boy, did he find his calling. Before he knew it, he was making a name for himself with a pistol in hand and not a lick of fear in his heart.

Then came the big leagues: the mafia. They saw something in him, something useful. Promised him the world, and for a while, he got it. The life was sweet – money, dames, excitement, you name it. Vasco lived it up, thinking he was untouchable. That’s where things got dicey.

Vasco got too big for his britches. Pinched cash and goods right under the boss’s nose, started some side hustles. And like that wasn’t stupid enough, he bedded his boss’s daughter. Both of them. And his lady. Talk about playing with fire!

Of course, it all caught up with him. The family couldn’t let all that slide; made an example out of him. Stripped, weighed down, and given a one-way ticket to Davy Jones’ locker. Vasco DeLuca, the cautionary tale of what happens when you fly too high, too fast.

Now, there’s no denying that all that was true. Vasco got a big head, was dallying with the boss’s daughters and the missus, and yeah, he skimmed a pretty penny off the top. But the story left out bits. Like his romp with the boss’s nephew. Or how he found out he was going to be a daddy. Or that Vasco had Ménière’s disease; one ear was already kaput, and the other wasn’t far behind. The dizziness and headaches were getting worse and more frequent.

The writing was on the wall; his days of being the cat’s pajamas were numbered. Vasco had been angling for an exit, pocketing whatever he could on his way out. Just never imagined his exit would be as fish food.
