His father, Marcus, was deeply involved in climate change research near the polar circle, which often kept Jack away from his mother, Teresa, and her side of the family. The Saami community faced ongoing challenges due to historical ethnic cleansing and the current perils of climate change, which threatened their culture and way of life. As a child, Jack was often the smallest and weakest in his class, struggling with language barriers and motor skill difficulties. Many of his teachers suspected him of being neurodivergent or intellectually impaired due to these challenges. At the age of 16, Jack was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, marking the beginning of a severe health crisis. The tumor rapidly spread throughout his body, leading to multiple organ failures. Just days before his 18th birthday, Jack's heart stopped in a hospital bed, leaving him critically ill and frail, weighing only 34 kilograms and standing at 167 centimeters tall. In a miraculous turn of events, Jack inexplicably revived after being pronounced dead by doctors. His skin rejuvenated, and he emerged from the brink of death with newfound strength and resilience. This event marked the beginning of Jack's extraordinary journey as a hyperhuman. Following his recovery, Jack explored his newfound abilities, pushing himself to the limits in activities like parkour and martial arts. He found work as a stuntman, where his hyperhuman powers were not only accepted but also advantageous. During this time, he met Cassandra, a fellow hyperhuman, and they fell deeply in love, eventually getting married. Their happiness was short-lived, however, as Cassandra experienced a severe episode of hyperpsychosis during their time at PRCU, leading to a tragic incident where she unintentionally caused harm to others before succumbing to her condition. Jack was left devastated and took a break from school to cope with his grief and loss. Now returning to PRCU, Jack faces the haunting memories of what he's lost and must navigate the challenges of being scarred, vulnerable, and emotionally raw. Most things seem to just run off him which is clear by the shallow crowsfeet and the dimple in his cheek from all the smiling he's done. His hair is naturally short and his beard never comes in completely as there's very little he can do to groom either by himself. He dresses in trifted clothing but nothing too 'one of a kind' as his powers has made it clear clothes are not as durable as he is. Usually in some kind of denim and t-shirt combination with a jacket and well thought out shoes. He wears glasses without needing them, but brushes off any hipster-remark. He is an active individual, often taking the lead in conversations without stirring up controversy or drama. Jack possesses a light touch and a sense of humor that allows him to disarm most people easily. Despite keeping his deeper feelings hidden, he remains enigmatic to some, much like the mysteries surrounding his powers. It's as if he carries the demeanor of someone who has experienced hardship but now appreciates life's blessings. Jack is deeply grateful for his second chance at life, even though he carries the weight of grief. However, this grief doesn't dampen his enthusiasm or zest for life; in fact, his infectious enthusiasm often uplifts those around him. He maintains a calm demeanor even in stressful situations, rarely panicking and always keeping his cool. With a self-sacrificial nature, Jack is willing and able to shield others from harm, whether in dire situations or in everyday tasks like helping with dishes after a dinner party. This selflessness sometimes leads to a hint of naivety, which some may attempt to exploit, although he has generally been fortunate in avoiding having his trust abused. Due to his life experiences, Jack is not materialistic. He views possessions as temporary and insignificant, adopting a naturalistic perspective where "stuff" holds little value. Consequently, he doesn't prioritize keeping up with trends or acquiring status symbols, as these things don't define his sense of self-worth or happiness.

That's Jack. He is functionally and completely impervious to harm, with a persona that repels strikes, bites, bullets, telepathy, burns, and radiation alike. Moreover, he either has no need for sustenance, calories, sleep, water, or air, or he is significantly less dependent on these factors compared to normal humans. His muscles can be pushed to improve without experiencing lactic acid buildup or muscular fatigue. Jack never runs out of breath or shows signs of being worn out. Thus, he can keep getting stronger - with plataeus, infinitely. This combined with his complete lack of any kind of rest making him an extraordinary hyperhuman. The inner workings of Jack's powers are beyond measurement using conventional means, leaving experts to evaluate him solely based on his feats. Over the past decade, Jack has demonstrated unwavering strength and endurance. His powers never once shaking in performance regardless of how many hypes are around. Thus he's showcasing one of the most efficient uses of HZE in powers ever encountered by actors like HELP, PRCU, and the Foundation, where even in the company of many, many other hypes in tight density his protective powers do not vein even slightly. L I M I T A T I O N S || Knife's edge, the unknown factor. While Jack has never been harmed thus far, there's an inherent uncertainty surrounding his powers. It's hypothesized that if something were to hurt him, it would have to be of extraordinary magnitude, potentially resulting in catastrophic consequences. Despite his invulnerability, Jack is just an ordinary person in terms of physical capabilities. He's not akin to Captain America; while his strength is impressive, it's not superhuman. For instance, he might survive a nuclear warhead, but the physical force of such an explosion could still severely impact him, like a wet cloth tossed by the blast, not harming him but burying him under mountains worth of rubble or debris. W E A K N E S S E S || Cancer's a bitch. Jack doesn't have a classic Achilles' heel or a vulnerability like kryptonite, although there's a significant vulnerability inherent in the suppression of his powers. When his powers were temporarily suppressed, his body reverted to the state it was in when they first activated, which was on the brink of death. This implies that his underlying condition isn't cured but rather held at bay by his powers. Therefore, any compromise to his powers could lead to immediate mortality, especially considering his habit of consistently putting himself in harm's way. When your heart is aching but you cannot feel pain from hitting your toe at the coffee table - how do you cope? Jack needs to figure out how he can cope with the hole in his heart, ideally without losing who he is and the appreciate for the life he spent so long incapable of living. The man is full of hope, joy and optimism in a life that's tried it's hardest to beat that out of him.

Seriously though, my advice would be to make sure you enjoy your time here. It's undoubtedly one of the toughest phases of your life, but it's also incredibly enriching. These challenges will prepare you for anything. While we're in these walls, we have a sense of what to expect, but the world outside? It's a wild ride. Remember, if you're here, it's because you're exceptional. You're an asset to yourself, this school, and the world. It's easy to forget that when everyone around you seems to be extraordinary in their own way.

When I started here, I wanted to delve into understanding myself better, what makes me tick, you know? But that idea flew out the window pretty much as soon as I walked in, haha. My initial hope was to grow in an environment free from discrimination, where I could just be me without the 'hyperhuman' label defining everything. It's ironic and maybe a bit contradictory to what I said earlier, but deep down, I came here seeking a sense of 'normalcy,' I suppose. As for changes? Well, everything changed.

• Jack's body is essentially 'paused'. He has no need to eat, breathe, sleep, or pass waste (though he can choose to engage in any of these); he doesn't get sick or tired; he doesn't feel pain, and is impervious to harm; and he hasn't aged since his powers activated. Due to this state of 'stasis', Jack is further immune to more esoteric threats and forms of harm, such as burns, radiation, frostbite, gravitational force, crushing, electrical shock, and drowning.
• Jack's muscles can perform indefinitely without fatigue, granting him infinite stamina, but no additional strength. He can withstand any blow without pain or injury, but the laws of momentum and kinetic energy still apply to his physical form; he can survive a hit anywhere from a light slap to a point-blank explosion with no wounds or pain, but he'll get pushed around by those forces acting upon him like anyone would. This means restraints are effective in locking him down, and when outclassed in a fight his opponent will have no difficulty knocking him around.
• Were Jack's powers to be disabled - by cure, anti-HZE technology, or another Hype with nullification abilities - the cancer ravaging his body would come back in full force, and any bodily needs he's been neglecting - hunger, thirst, oxygen, sleep - would quickly catch up with him as well.
• Given the amount of free time Jack has without needing to attend to bodily needs, and his inability to improve physically, he has taken it upon himself to sharpen his mind instead. (Gives room here for a bunch of skills and talents Jack could have spent time learning and practicing).
• Jack's physical 'stasis' additionally extends to any growth or improvement one might typically be able to make through proper training and exercise. His body is completely and utterly unchanging, for all the advantages and drawbacks that brings with it.

Her family was small, but close-knit and loving. Her mother, Shauna, was always incredibly sensitive and regalled Cleo and her brother Callum with vivid stories of otherworldly creatures and magical realms. As Cleo and Callum grew older, Shauna’s sensitivity continued to intensify, untreated, into excruciating headaches and bouts of hysteria, filling their home with tension and unease. Callum's way of dealing with the chaos was to rebel against it, frequently getting into trouble for anti-social behavior. The strain eventually tore their family apart, with their father leaving to escape the turmoil. At thirteen, Cleo began experiencing the same severe headaches that had plagued her mother. These were accompanied by the unsettling intrusion of others’ thoughts into her mind. Frightened and isolated, she struggled to keep her burgeoning abilities a secret while caring for her rapidly deteriorating mother. Her brother, having turned his life around enough to attend university, recognised Cleo’s suffering and introduced her to Eilidh Vass, a skilled psionic and registered Hyperhuman. Desperate to remove the painful power, and fearful of own her future, Cleo sought Eilidh's mentorship. Through calming, meditative techniques, and visualisation techniques, Eilidh helped Cleo manage her abilities enough to start functioning normally again. Thinking she could suvive that way, Cleo pushed on in life. A turning point came when Shauna's condition worsened to the point of needing institutional care. It was Eilidh who helped with this, ensuring that Shauna wasn't punished for hiding her Hyperhuman ability. Determined to find a way to help her mother, with the assistance and connection of Eilidh, Cleo applied to PRCU, seeking to master her abilities and ultimately find a way to bring her mother back from the brink of madness. Cleo is a highly expressive and animated individual, and it shows on her face - whether it’s a playful smirk or a narrowing of her eyes, people will usually know just how she’s feeling. Occasionally, a faint shimmer surrounds her - an aura of her psychic energy that certainly becomes more noticeable when she’s using her powers. Small, colourful bubbles might occasionally appear around her - especially if she’s feeling strong emotions. On one hand she can be very light, airy, and carefree but beneath the surface there is a toughness and resilience that developed as a product of her upbringing. She does not suffer fools, and she is not easily influenced or impressed by status or social hierarchy. She’s never afraid to challenge someone, and is honest to a fault - sometimes to her detriment. She finds happiness in loud music, in dancing, and in being social - she has a dry and quick wit that is telling of her heritage. Meditation, and spiritual practice has also been paramount to the development of her abilities, and so she carries those beliefs with her as something sacred, and her safe place. As a psionic, she has a remarkable emotional intelligence, with an ability to understand people, and it is coupled with another psionic trait - one of natural intelligence for most academic pursuits, this is unfortunately quite heavily tempered with airheaded tendencies. She can be forgetful, clumsy, or analyse something too deeply that she ends up in entirely the wrong train of thought entirely - unsure of how she even arrived there. Within her lies a fire that fuels her ambitions and dreams. Cleo is fiercely independent and driven, using her tough upbringing as her source of strength. She approaches life with a blend of practicality and imagination, however she harbours her insecurities and fears about her abilities. She feels her development is lagging behind her peers and questions her usefulness in a team. This self-doubt can often be a source of internal conflict, and there are times she feels inadequate.

Her bubbles are versatile, and allow her to utilise and control her abilities in impactful ways. With the bubbles, she is able to control unwanted, and accidental psychic communication. Cleo can create bubbles that allow her to briefly share emotions with others, like catching a spritz of perfume when a bubble pops - only it's filled with unbridled, momentary joy. This ability can enable her to calm an agitated person, or alternatively to inspire confidence. It’s not a power she leans into too much, she struggles with the ethics of her abilities - and tries to use them as infrequently as possible for such reasons. Similarly, Cleo can establish telepathic links with others, allowing for silent communication over short distances, using the bubbles as conduits for sending thoughts or images directly to another person's mind; such control and entry into someone’s mind is something she struggles with, and it’s a power she hasn’t been too adept at using. As her bubbles are made entirely of her psionic energy, they are capable of holding, manipulating and levitating objects within them. She can move items, and throw things. Now, her aim on the other hand… We don't talk about that... Without an item in them, the bubbles can be used to inflict non-fatal harm by bursting upon impact with a target, delivering a mini dose of sleepiness, confusion, or disorientation. A feeling that washes over, just enough to catch someone off guard. Finally, her bubbles can provide small and temporary protective barriers for herself and others to shield from minor attacks, but they will disappear upon impact. L I M I T A T I O N S || Concentration In order to manipulate her energy, it requires a huge amount concentration and a clear mind. The success of her bubbles always hinges on her ability to stay calm and focused. Mental fatigue, stress, sensory overload, or physical disruption impact her control over the bubbles. At this stage in her power development, it is difficult to manipulate the bubbles over long distances, the further they get from her, the weaker the link becomes and the more difficult it is to maintain their integrity. The bubbles are fragile. They’re bubbles afterall… They can easily be burst by physical objects or disruptions in the environment - even minor contact can cause them to pop and nullify their effects. W E A K N E S S E S || Physical Attacks First and foremost, Cleo is physically weak; and any kind of physical threat would render her defenseless. If she cannot access her bubbles, she would be overpowered physically. Secondly, she is so dependant on being calm therefore anything that becomes overwhelming emotionally will render her powers too difficult to use. Psionic power is also mentally draining, and too much use and over-exertion will cause crippling migraines.

• Given the fragility of bubbles, I was wondering what the limits would be for weight and durability. The limitations imply they're not a whole lot more durable than a regular bubble so I'm not sure how they can support weight at all.
• You mention the emotions are like getting hit by a spritz of perfume, so are the emotions a fleeting feeling, temporary and gone? Is the effects limited to the area the bubble detonated in?
• With the telepathy aspect, is it a sustained link, or Cleo sending thoughts/feelings/images through a bubble to someone? You also mention control but I didn't really get the impression she was capable of that in the preceding paragraphs.
• Is Cleo capable of creating bubbles of various sizes and is the range and force of the bubbles relevant to the size of them?

Hillan; Roman, Rockette and I have completed our initial review and there are a couple of things we want to address before moving to the approval stage. Primarily, we have some concerns about Jack's abilities, the static state of them and the lack of opportunities for growth and development. If you are amenable to it, we'd like to propose the following changes.

• Jack's body is essentially 'paused'. He has no need to eat, breathe, sleep, or pass waste (though he can choose to engage in any of these); he doesn't get sick or tired; he doesn't feel pain, and is impervious to harm; and he hasn't aged since his powers activated. Due to this state of 'stasis', Jack is further immune to more esoteric threats and forms of harm, such as burns, radiation, frostbite, gravitational force, crushing, electrical shock, and drowning.
• Jack's muscles can perform indefinitely without fatigue, granting him infinite stamina, but no additional strength. He can withstand any blow without pain or injury, but the laws of momentum and kinetic energy still apply to his physical form; he can survive a hit anywhere from a light slap to a point-blank explosion with no wounds or pain, but he'll get pushed around by those forces acting upon him like anyone would. This means restraints are effective in locking him down, and when outclassed in a fight his opponent will have no difficulty knocking him around.
• Were Jack's powers to be disabled - by cure, anti-HZE technology, or another Hype with nullification abilities - the cancer ravaging his body would come back in full force, and any bodily needs he's been neglecting - hunger, thirst, oxygen, sleep - would quickly catch up with him as well.
• Given the amount of free time Jack has without needing to attend to bodily needs, and his inability to improve physically, he has taken it upon himself to sharpen his mind instead. (Gives room here for a bunch of skills and talents Jack could have spent time learning and practicing).
• Jack's physical 'stasis' additionally extends to any growth or improvement one might typically be able to make through proper training and exercise. His body is completely and utterly unchanging, for all the advantages and drawbacks that brings with it.
