Dante Blackbourn

Time: Night
Location: River Port
Interactions: Darius @FunnyGuy, Menzai @samreaper, Isolde @Blizz, Aiden @potter
Equipment: Clothes from a dead elf, Steel Sword

Dante stopped his interrogation on Aiden and turned to Menzai listening to the words he spoke. He paused a moment to think about their current situation. “I think that sounds like a good plan. We will figure something out for the rings later, but if he has a safe place for all of us to stay that is our best bet.” He said looking around at everyone. After some discussion the group had agreed to head to Menzai's home. They finished up things in town and camped outside of river port for the night before traveling towards Guarav.

The Bandits

Time: Night
Location: Desert
Interactions: @13org Nuallán, @baraquiel Jomari

The crocodile demihuman snapped his maw in defiance to Nuallán brazen comment. The ambush had failed and three of their men had been dispatched with ease. The possibility of death crept, sending a shiver across his scales.

“You only trimmed som fat! We’ll-” The Crocodile felt something happening below his feet. The rhino nudged him.

“You feel that. That damned magic!” The rhino demi-human grunted.

“Move!” The crocodile shouted. The two pulled apart, from where they had stood as they feared the shifting sands. “We can’t sit and wait! They’re both focused on us!” And as if on cue, the scorpion burst from the sand beneath Jomari in an attempt to grab him with one of his claws. If it failed, the man would simply be launched from his spot and land further away from Nuallán.

In the same instance, the crocodile used the burst of sand from the scorpion’s emergence to charge Nuallán. He planned to bash the elf with his shield and follow up with a downward slash from his sword. The rhino kept in his position as his body started to glow as it had previously.

“Your friend should have listened! NOW YOU’LL BOTH DIE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” The rhino was unusually invigorated as he charged up, becoming brighter and brighter. With his eyes on Nuallán.

“It was a trick question. I am glad you have been minding,”

“A trick question, huh?” Slick replied with a grin as he rounded the doorframe and entered the room with Leaf behind him. Upon entering, he had only taken three steps before stopping to look around with his hands rested on his belt buckle. His eyes stopped on the resting Caelan.

“You got Mister cowboy down for the night, I see. Good work, ladies.” Slick chuckled as he tipped his head to Sophie and Aurora respectively.

“I'm glad you two are back. What did you do while you were out?”

“Pretty much what we set out to do. Got Champ some exercise and found a few secluded spots we can make camp in for our secret trainin’ sessions.” He plopped up on top of one of the dressers before continuing. “Ain’t done yet though. We’re gon’ head back out and find a few more. Now, how ‘bout you ladies? Do anything nice while the men were away?”

Annya had glared at Kaleb. Protector? My ass. She rolled her eyes as he went as far as to step in front of her. She sucked in her lip at Bron's words, nodding along with them. Considering he had approached them while they were been leaving a brothel, Annya felt they had absolutely no ground to stand on whatsoever. A shudder went through her at the thought. She just wanted to make sure Ismael, Raven, and Saoirse were alright at this point, before retreating into her room to hide. For now, it was time to damage control again.

"Bron, I apologize for my protector's behavior. He just..." Annya ruffled Kaleb's hair as she stepped forward to his side, "Cares about me so. He goes overboard sometimes. I appreciate your patience. We want to make sure we can trust those in our circle, however, I feel it is inappropriate to discuss matters into detail in public." and near a brothel.

This is the worst night ever. How humiliating... Oh great. Here comes another.

"He...Hello there. You wouldn't happen to know much about this town would you? I am...new around here. I'm just looking for a place to stay and any kind of information you're willing to share. I hope I am not interrupting anything?"

Annya peered at the long-haired newcomer for a moment, forgetting to answer him as she moved up to him. Where were the pointy of his ears? She eyed him up and down, examining him. She tilted her head left and right then circled him thoughtfully. She came to stand before him finally and gently reached up to move his hair away from his ear. Then, she quickly put it back where it was. Annya finally responded to him, whispering for only him to hear. "You are a human? If you are, please remain at my side. I can give you shelter and protect you with my life."

Where Kaleb thought he’d find timidness, he discovered Bron’s aggressive response instead. It broke Kaleb entirely out of character as he briefly looked like a deer in headlights. This dwarf was not Arn, hell, he was far from it from the way, he expressed his agency in the situation.

Despite Bron’s height, Kaleb had this underlying feeling the dwarf would fold him if he was in the mood to. Poise. Poise. Poise. Confidence, not arrogance. Kaleb let the mantra play in his mind as Annya stepped in. Taking the spotlight was excusable, but what she did to his hair… HIS HAIR! If looks could kill, Kaleb would have killed Annya a dozen times over. He clenched his teeth as he grimaced down at the back of her head. There was a wave of heat that traveled across his skin.

However, he wouldn’t discount her attempt in diffusing the situation at hand. Annya had been a mess a while ago, but from what Kaleb observed before and currently, Annya was a leader. While attempting to repair the damage done to his hair, another arrived.

“He...Hello there. You wouldn't happen to know much about this town would you? I am...new around here. I'm just looking for a place to stay and any kind of information you're willing to share. I hope I am not interrupting anything?”

Kaleb was quite ready to snap at this one as well but reminded himself of his experience with Bron. Swift was Annya in addressing the man who she appeared to examine closely. What is she doing? He looked the man over and noticed the lack of pointiness in his ears.

“Hmph, looks like staying at the brothel instead of walking with Bron was a good idea after all.” Kaleb’s arrogance had returned, but unfortunately, his feelings about Annya ruining his hair had yet vanished. In fact, Kaleb was boiling inside, almost literally, as steam began to rise from off of him. “So instead of fucking up MY HAIR, how about you listen to me next time!” As he roared, flames briefly flashed in his palms

Nuallán couldn't help but let out a cruel grin as he saw the crocodile bandit's determination faltering. With Jomari finishing the Ibis bandit without hesitating, there were only the Rhino, the Scorpion (which was still nowhere to be seen) and the Crocodile left and the Crocodile definitely felt that.

He was expecting Jomari to be stunned for a moment or even hesitating, but the fact that he was able to move on and immediately use his magic to soften the sand beneath the Crocodile and the Rhino in an attempt to disable them did make him rather surprised. If only his loyalty wasn't one of such a dubious nature, he would do a very fine warrior with only a little training.

In reaction to Jomari's magic, Nuallán was about to dash towards them, aiming to use that split second that they would take to regain their footing to attack them. However, before he could do that, the scorpion bandit, which had disappeared before, suddenly appeared from below Jomari, ready to grab him with his pincers.

"Jomari, below you!" Nuallán shouted, trying to alert Jomari.

That brief second he took to alert Jomari though, gave the Crocodile enough time to charge at him. Caught by surprise and unable to dodge his shield-bash at time, Nuallán had no choice but to use the crocodile's shield bash to push him away, intentionally letting himself being hit by the shield-bash and jumping backwards in the very last moment, to lessen the impact. Thanks to that last minute maneuver, the Crocodile wasn't able to hit his downwards slash, but his shield-bash sent Nuallán sliding through the sand, only separating him and Jomari even further.

To make things even worse, the Rhino, who was previously interrupted when he tried to use his strange skill, was able to finally complete it and as he began to glow, he seemed to be way more invigorated than he was a moment ago.

With both the Rhino and the Crocodile having their full attention on him, he wouldn't be able to help Jomari against the scorpion, at least until he dealt with one of them. The best he could do was to keep both the Rhino and the Crocodile focused on him.

"Your friends were equally as confident a few moments ago... They don't seem to be as lively as they were though... Do they?" Nuallán said with a cruel, mocking grin as he threw a throwing knife at the Rhino, aiming to keep his attention on him

At the same time that throwing knife was flying towards the rhino, Nuallán dashed directly towards the Crocodile, spinning his body and feinting an horizontal slash, aiming to only lightly graze the Crocodile's shield on purpose, only to crouch down as he continued the spinning motion, letting his blade's edge extend in a dangerous, lightning fast slash at the Crocodile's legs, aiming to immobilize him.

The Other Bandits & Pâsh Ruin Bringer

Time: Night
Location: Desert
Interactions: @dragonpiece Uzul, @baraquiel Kuroi

Pâsh had been out raiding with two of his “Boyz” when they discovered a bandit camp. They went about as per usual, murdering and looting. However, they had not expected to find Princess Mikazuki. After telling him she had been taken from the group she had been travelling with. He rounded up the Boyz and marched, following the footprints in the sand leading from the camp. “Princess we are gon'n ta have a big ol’ blood bath, ya said ya only have wun 'umie wit' ya.” He said looking to Mikazuki placing his large hand on her shoulder and shaking her a little.

Mikazuki blinked as the large hand shook her body. She wasn’t quite sure what the last part had meant but it did not matter; they needed to get back to the others. Rosaria had been taken too.
“Thank you so much for saving me. Pardon me but… We need to hurry. My friends are in danger.” She stressed to Pash. A memory flashed before her eyes as she watched once again as a hand covered Rosaria’s mouth. The fear in the elf princess’s eyes still shook her to the core. She clenched her fists with determination, tears forming in her eyes.

“We iz a hurry'n, lil pooch ya shouldn't rush us don't forget 'oo ya wit.” Pâsh looked towards the Princess with a glint of malice being ordered around.

The wolf princess stared at him for a moment then nodded as if she had completely understood his words. ”Yes… I’m sorry? “ She decided to apologize noting the tone in his voice. Her ears laid back against her head with nervousness. “Um, okay, I think I can smell my way back. Follow me please. Thank you again…” With that, she wasted no time bounding through the sand.

Pâsh and his “Boyz” followed the princess not saying a word to her lest his rage would end her. The group eventually come upon a scene in the distance with multiple silhouettes which appeared to be fighting. “I fink we found yer krew lil pooch, ya ready Boyz! if ‘da lil pooch says don't kill leave’em.” He called out to his group.

Mikazuki pointed towards Kuroi then Uzul,” Those two are with me. Spare them!” She called over the chaos to Pâsh and his group.

“Ya hear dat only two. Slaughta da others, let's get'em!” Pâsh let out a loud battle cry as he charged toward the ones who were fighting. As he reached the bandits he found himself staring down at a feline demi-human. “Ya gunna die ere lil kat.” He laughed raising his maul above his head with a click of his chitinous arms locking in place he released the pressure letting the maul come slamming down on her head almost instantly with blinding speed shattering the skull and blowing through the center of her body with a loud squelch of flesh until it hit the ground with a boom creating a small shockwave in the area.

Mikazuki winced a little watching Pâsh, but knew in order to keep her friends safe, she’d have to fight too. She caught Kuroi’s eye, frowning with concern for a moment. Was he hurt? Her brows furrowed with focus as she leapt forward with a growl, claws unsheathing. She leapt onto a snake demihuman from behind and clutched his head, digging her claws into his face and eyes. He screamed out in agony, but she fiercely ended his misery by unhinging one claw and slamming it into his throat, clutching deep into his flesh. With a swift movement, she ripped his throat out and his body slumped within her grasp. She yanked her claws out, blood dripping off them into the sand as she moved to Kuroi’s side protectively.

Pâsh looked toward the orc charging at Uzul and picked up a fist-sized rock. He then cocked his arm back and launched the rock towards his face, blowing the upper half of his skull off the body. The Spider orc fell to the ground at Uzul’s feet. Pâsh then stepped towards the dragonborn making his way towards him. He smiled at the dragonborn as he grabbed the back of his head. He then punched a hole through his spine and out the front of his chest spewing blood, bones and bits of organ matter all over Uzul. Pâsh dropped the limp body to the ground and stared down Uzul. “Ya kan't even handle a few banditz on yer own, Uzul. Yer still weak.” He said spitting on the ground near Uzul’s feet.

Rosaria

Time: Night
Location: Desert
Interactions: @baraquiel Jomari & @13org Nuallán

The boisterous celebration from the demihuman bandits ended abruptly. Light magic surrounded the camp like a dome and left them without an escape route. Glowing in the midst stood Rosaria with the fury of a thousand suns. Their cheers faded into cries and screams while their once overjoyed expressions morphed into absolute terror. ”If you wanted to make sure I didn’t wake up or retaliate, you should have picked a stronger drug or a magic resistance cuff. I admire your dedication, but your actions speak of how amatuer you are. You best hope I don’t find your families.” She raised her hands and created chains of light magic that wrapped around each of the demihumans, halting them in their place and making it difficult for them to move. A quick slash with her hand with orbs of magic rendered them completely blind. They screamed and shouted with terror and dread but were unable to move. Silent and lethal, the blade quickly dispatched the demihumans around the once sleeping princess. With blood dripping from the sword, Rosaria moved forward with a dangerous expression, one that promised murder. Time was of the essence so unfortunately, she wasn’t able to savor their deaths.

Heaviness filled her eyes, so she slapped her cheeks to try waking herself up. Whatever the drug had been, it was efficient and had kept her asleep for who knew how long. Groaning, Rosaria pulled her darksight glasses out and put them on fast. She ignored the dark sky above her and focused on finding Jomari and Nuallán. For now, they were her priority; the others would have to wait. Mika and Kuroi were both skilled fighters and Uzul was capable of handling himself. Still, worry gnawed at her and she took several deep breaths to quell it.

Quiet as a mouse and as alert as a predator, Rosaria spun the sword in her hand while searching for the two. It didn’t take her long to find them. She halted to evaluate the situation and pulled her hood over her face. Pride and joy rushed through her, watching her most adorable and deadly butler dispatching the rhino. Her gaze flickered to Jomari and she watched as he manipulated the sand around him. Smirking, Rosaria waved her hand and soon became invisible. Rosaria crept towards the battle and sheathed her sword and took her bow out and strung an arrow. Carefully she aimed it towards the crocodile and allowed the arrow to fly. Not wasting any time, Rosaria strung the next one and aimed it at the scorpion and then finally, the Rhino. Each arrow had been imbued with light magic to increase damage. She then used light magic to shield Nuallán and Jomari, which they’d both be able to see, as Rosaria allowed herself to become visible once more and waved with a faint smile and murder in her eyes.

”Did you miss me?”

Bron's eyebrows furrowed as Kaleb quite literally displayed a fiery temper, which almost instinctively caused him to draw one of his axes. It would not be a displeasure for Bron to take down what could very well be a risk. It was these thoughts that made him forget what the newcomer, Bardulf, and Annya had just said. However, such abilities he wasn't aware that the Elves possessed. Was Kaleb's ears merely a trick? Perhaps the Princess had a modicum of responsibility afterall. "HOLD YOUR TONGUE, CHILD!" Bron roared back.

He had neither the patience nor inclination to abide this foolishness any longer and felt the need to quash the outburst himself. "Do you wish to draw more attention to yourself than you already may have done!? Whether you like it or not, I will not entertain your antics as I join you. This world does not revolve around you, boy. You will learn that or you will be left behind and your connection to the Princess will not save you. Am. I. Clear?"

Bardulf paused as he felt the slight tension growing between the two men. He almost backpedaled as he began to think twice about approaching such a group late at night. Goodness, maybe I shouldn't have approached so eagerly. Luckily for him, their aggressive outbursts seemed to be targeted at each other rather than him, so he calmed himself. It was the approach of the female that brought him to stiffen a little, watching as she circled him like he was some exotic animal. He could tell by her body language and manner of speaking that she didn't mean harm, but watching her suddenly bring her hand close to his face definitely warranted a reaction as he furrowed his brows ever so slightly. He kept calm however as he put it back and spoke to him.

"You are a human? If you are, please remain at my side. I can give you shelter and protect you with my life."

His eyes would widen slightly while his brows returned to their resting state. He took a moment to make sure he had heard that right before speaking up again.

"I...yes I am human. Something I am learning is rare around these parts. You seem to be an...elf? If I have that right? I do not know what these other two are, so my apologies. That being said, protect me with your life? We've only just met after all, I hope I didn't bring danger here just by walking into town..."

He looked around once more, seeing if he could perceive any threats by chance. A single moving shadow, a scuffle of dirt, even the sound of cloth rustling as if to move out of sight. Once he ascertained that he wasn't followed, he turned back towards the group.

"It seems I have a lot to learn. Please, at the very least some shelter would be nice. I have many questions."

He stood there, almost shrinking into his cloak a moment as he moved it to cover his upper body with it. He proceeded to cover the top of his head with his cloak as he realized his appearance seemed to draw attention, looking to the trio and nodding before speaking up in a much more hushed tone.

"If you'll have me, then I shall follow. Just uhh, don't shout at me please."

Annya whirled on Kaleb when he raised his voice. Her gaze locked on the flames in his palm and she was silent in her thoughts. She could hear Bron shout dimly in the background, but her thoughts were louder. This fiendish boy was a human? And he dared to disrespect her like this? She knew that he knew very well who she was and what kind of behavior was acceptable. However, it'd do no good to yell at him further; the dwarf had already taken care of that, but she'd certainly have to put him in his place, as he'd have to be listening to her very carefully from now on, especially with the dangerous magic he wielded.

She moved to walk in front of Bron, perhaps to shield him from Kaleb's potential wrath, perhaps because she needed to take it from here. Annya's irises first began to glow with nearly blinding light. The light crawled over the surface of both her eyes as it began to also frame the perimeter of her body. The dark night around them was marinated in her glow. She bore her fiery gaze onto him like an unforgiving goddess who had come down from the heavens to take her vengeance.

"You seem to have forgotten who I am, Kaleb." Annya began calmly. Her voice was not filled with malice nor anger. "So let me remind you: I am Princess Annya Biren of the Sun Elf Kingdom. For hundreds of years, I have served as a warrior for my Kingdom and I have amassed experience and power that you could never dream of. That being said..." The glow diminished from her eyes and slowly from her body as well, "Going forward, in exchange for the protection I bestow upon you, Kaleb..." Her gaze moved to Bardulf as well, "Bardulf. The least I ask for you in return is your respect."

She put a hand on Kaleb's shoulder, lowly telling him, "I apologize for your hair. I will respect you as well as long as you return it. Let us all begin again." Annya had enough of the nonsense, however. They would return to the others now. Despite what had occurred tonight, she knew she needed to remind not only them of who she was, but herself.

"You do have a lot to learn, Bardulf and I will teach you. All of you shall follow me."

Just as she began to take her leave, the hippo demihuman emerged from the brothel, "SHUT UP ALREADY! GET THE FUCK OUT HERE! GO PUKE SOMEWHERE ELSE YOU IMBECILES!"

Time: 2pm, Abertha
Happy Abertha! In the week before Haron, hunting is very prominent. This is a week of hunting and feasting to enjoy the sacrifice of the lesser creatures and give thanks for the resources of the world.

Four months have passed since the humans have been summoned, enough time for bonds to strengthen and power to grow...Hopefully, the time has been used wisely as the Twin-Headed Dragon among others is now ready to strike a move! Beware, something vile this way comes... In the meantime, it is the week of Abertha, so enjoy the plentiful harvest, feasting, and hunting festivities that are occurring all over Avalia. Show your gratitude. Humans may find this holiday similar to Thanksgiving!

Hunting profits will be DOUBLE! for this week only! See below:

@Potter Rosaria @Baraquiel Jomari @13org Nuallán @Mole Aurora @FunnyGuy Slick @Helo Leaf @Alivefalling Caelan/ Pash @princess Sophie @hide on mana Kuroi

After the valiant efforts to save the princesses, Rosaria and friends retreated to Dugmaghord with Pâsh for safety. A much sought-out discussion was then held. Pash was seemingly agreeable to aid in the war. At first, Rosaria had been considering returning to Myriamor since their journey was complete. However, Annya then made contact via their transmission bracelets and informed them of what she had seen with the demon's broadcast. Thus, Rosaria created a portal for those in Myriamor to join them in their safe haven. It was clearly safer here with the protection of the orc army than to remain in a major city. It was an adjustment and downgrade from Myriamor for certain, but they were able to train with some semblance of security over the next four months. And train they did. Rosaria, though kind, was firm with the humans and made sure they would learn as much as they could from her and the other Avalians.

@Helo Orias @CitrusArms Aiko @Potter Xavier @princess Yuka

Xavier and his three protectors were able to converse with the King and Queen of the Fairy Kingdom. After some convincing from Prince Orias himself as well, as well as from protests from the fairies of River Kingdom that was thanks to Yuka's ability to create chaos wherever she goes, the King and Queen hesitantly made a public statement that they'd be siding with the light elves. This was not a surprising decision, especially since war had been declared on them first with the death of their son Prince Echo. The three were able to then find out that Ironhold was already siding with the light elves, so Yuka suggested they remain in the River Fairy Kingdom where the fairy army would protect them over the next four months. Xavier was even able to receive additional magical training from chlorokinetic fairies. Due to the nature of being in such a small group, have the four grown closer?

@FunnyGuy Darius @Alivefalling Dante @Potter Aiden @Blizz Isolde @samreaper Menzai

During the four months passed, Menzai and the four humans in his company arrived at Guarav.. It was here where they would remain in the safety and care of the wolf demihuman village hidden away in the wilderness. Welcomed with open arms, the humans were treated with kindness and assisted whenever a problem arose.

Despite the warm comfort received by the villagers, Dante ensured to implement a very strict training schedule. Menzai kept an eye out for anything that might be too dangerous, but that did not prevent the training from being grueling for the duration of their time in Guarav. The weekly training involved five days of physical training for two hours and magic training for four hours. The group also made it a priority to seek out books and other resources that would aid in their endeavor of training.

Many of their needs were met within Guarav, but anything that could not be obtained in the village was purchased during an occasional trip to River Port.

North Pass Wiki
@princess Annya @Lava Alckon Bardulf @Th3King0fChaos Ismael @FunnyGuy Kaleb @Potter Rue @Helo Bowyn @Tae Eris @Gingerboi123 Bron @Kazemitsu Kharne

Annya had returned to the others and introduced the new folks to the group. She explained how she had meant to take a moment to get to know Eris and Kaleb in gratitude for Eris's help as well, only to black out for the next few hours. She then apologized for her absence and quickly moved on to focusing on more dire subjects. She, of course, had a near meltdown that Saoirse was missing until she found a letter explaining that she had left for another group, which Annya became incredibly upset about. Annya immediately called for reinforcements of light elves, both to bring with her for aid and to search for Saoirse. However, there was ultimately no sign of Saoirse. To make matters worse, as soon as Eris returned, Raven begged her to send her home. Eris could not immediately send her home but would do so over the course of the next few days. This was a big sting for Annya to lose her two girls, but she knew at least had two more humans now: Kaleb and Ismael. Annya took a moment to call her sister and fill her in on the demon situation before going to bed depressed.

Before the dawn could even break, Annya woke everyone up early to leave on a ship that was prepared at the docks. There were suddenly at least twenty light elf soldiers with them. It was clear Annya did not want to play games. From there, the ship took a long journey up the canal to North Pass. However, Annya was absolutely an annoying, overbearing mother the entire time. She'd wake everyone up early and pull out a huge itinerary of their daily plans. They'd eat breakfast as soon as the sun rose up. Vegetables and sufficient protein were required at every meal. Then she would have the human boys partake in thirty-minute meditation. After that, she'd have Kharne and Bron lead the humans in physical exercises. The next two hours would be focused on teaching the human boys how to use weapons. She'd even have an hour to start monologuing about the importance of matters and respect. Annya gave them all journals at one point and asked them to write their daily thoughts and feelings in them, as she felt any bottled-up grievances would hinder their magical training later on. Some days, Annya decided to teach them about sailing to have them help out on the ship as well. Once the ship had passed Yenworth and there were not as many potential eyes on them, Annya begun their magical training.

In case anyone had gotten sick of her, she had Rue and Bowyn teach them how they use their magic at times. Finally, after a week's journey, they arrived at the frigid North Pass. The humans would feel as if the architecture and clothing were similar to an east-Asian style, especially with shrines and dumplings galore. However, they'd also find that this was possibly the kindest place they had ever been. The grand Chieftan, a sweet old feline demihuman who went by Nana Ruma, was overwhelmingly welcoming despite Kaleb's rudeness. She was very hospitable, providing inn rooms to all of them and bringing them soup daily. The law enforcement, called the Blizzard, was led by a panda demihuman named Botan Nagarashi. Botan offered combat training to anyone who asked him for it.

During their stay in North Pass, Annya kept her strict regiment, spending hours of physical and magical training a day along with meditation and enrichment hours. Annya made sure to utilize Kharne and Bron's expertise and intimidation, putting them to good use. Rue, Bowyn, and Eris were also an excellent aid in teaching magical control to humans. She tried her best to keep them happy by letting them have designated fun hours, but could not offer them a full day break just yet. Despite her tough love, it would be clear Princess Annya grew to care for the humans and those in her company deeply. Strong bonds were made between those in the group as well... But just how strong are they?

ROSHMI CITY

@Potter Tigerlily @Alivefalling Barboda @princess Helio @Helo Nym @Infinite Cosmos Tesoro

Upon arrival in Roshmi, there was no sign of Bastian, Faye, or Wumong. There were no leads either. However, the group took their time searching Roshmi. They traveled by ship to nearby areas, looking for leads and going on a few treasure hunts. They had even stopped in areas such as Myriamor and tried to get word of any sightings. Much of the time, this crew got inebriated way too much, but they were able to form close bonds within their little pirate crew. Now back in Roshmi and well-aware that Ardyn may strike at any moment, perhaps its time the crew grow its numbers... Could they finally get a lead on Faye and Wumong's location?

Four months in a settlement full of giant oddly colored people that didn’t talk too well was quite the experience for the outlaw. Besides getting used to seeing a different kind of woman in these parts, Slick found it beneficial to pick up a little bit of the lingo from the resident orcs. It had its perks as he was able to talk his way around while not having to depend on his elven babysitters too much. Despite his desire for a little bit of independence, Slick also managed to get closer to a few people he frequently mingled with while in Dugmaghord. More specifically, Kuroi, Caelan, Leaf, and Aurora.

The deadly fox of a man that was Kuroi had continued being good company. Slick had also been quite excited when he found out the martial artist would be training the group. The outlaw already knew how to kill a man in a few ways but Kuroi opened up a whole new catalog for him.

In the beginning, Slick and Caelan hadn’t had much in common but that all changed when the two both discovered zemak while tasked with running an errand for Princess Rosaria in Dugmaghord. Caelan came in quite clutch when remembering the herb was the Avalia equivalent to marijuana. From then on, Slick and Caelan were as thick as thieves!

As for Leaf, ever since the successful freeing of the lioness battle cat from sturdy stables, Slick couldn’t think of trusting anyone more than the feline demihuman. He also got the chance to meet his closest friend, Star that Shines the Brightest. Amongst those he had gotten close to, Slick felt he trusted Leaf the most, and that meant something.

Last but certainly not least was Aurora. The woman practically had Slick wrapped around her finger since their meeting. Slick knew it but he wouldn’t openly admit to the chord the girl struck in his heart. It was likely the only chord left intact. He always volunteered to accompany her and lend her a hand, so it was only natural that the time spent together drew the two closer. And in that time, Slick discovered Aurora was a lot more capable than he initially assumed. Sure, she was blind, but not some helpless damsel only meant to be saved. In fact, Slick was confident the spiritual advisor could protect him better than he could her. Now ain’t that somethin’?

Anyway, besides getting to know people and learning how to snap necks, Slick got a good feel for his abilities. He found it strange but liked what he was capable of. To manipulate the very air around him was something he was excited to develop and push further. His ability wasn’t as flashy as the others but the man had enough flashiness on his own as it was. Subtlety was the cornerstone of class after all, and Slick could afford to be classy, right?

In an attempt to earn some extra amas, Slick thought it might be wise to go out hunt for some critters just outside of the Dugmaghord. There was a small oasis Slick had found while doing a bit of exploring. Even in the empty-looking desert, there were gems to be found. All the outlaw needed was some company since it wasn’t a wise choice to head out alone. He had presented the idea the previous night, stating that anyone interested in going was welcomed.

At the moment, Slick was just outside of the home provided to the group, taking sips from his canteen while watching orcs pass by. Four months had cooled down the desert some, but it was still too hot to enjoy for long periods. He peered up at Champ standing beside him.

“I’ll give ‘em about five. And only five.” He stated, pulling out his pocket watch to make strict note of the elapsing time.

Gaurav

Four Months Later

The village of Gaurav located directly atop a huge river that spanned for miles had the homes and buildings built around and into the huge trees that had grown for hundreds of years within the river. With heavy thick trees surrounding the village along with mountains to the left and right in an almost bowl like formation offering a natural barrier against outsiders. With trees so tightly packed together and countless paths making traveling through the forest and without a Gauravian as a guide or one with sharply tuned nose made finding the hidden safe paths difficult. An intricately confusing maze-like forest and dense fog that almost seemed alive all worked to deter those curious save for the more recklessly brave or lucky ones to find their way through. As the wolven demi-humans kept to themselves in seclusion; outside forces seldom saw need to bother them though envoys of surrounding kingdoms have sought them out with attempts of alliance only to be kindly refused as Gaurav held knowledge and documents they could not risk those of dangerous or evil intent getting their hands on.

As a village that lives in seclusion most have rumored them to be a hateful and animalistic sort that has gradually turn more beastlike over the years. Such rumors and suspicions have come about purely due to so little information going in or out and their seemingly cold and distrustful disposition as told by the rare fews to have reached Gaurav though said travelers have simply stated them to be more the highly respectful and cautious sort, but through misunderstandings and enjoyments of fantastical myths led to such misconceptions of the Gauravians. And the fact hardly any ever ventured out from the village to quell such misunderstanding and rumors did not help.

And as Menzai was the only Gauravian the group of humans who were still wholly new to the realm of Avalia, it was understandable for them to expect them to be like the distant wolf. Yet, after hours of trekking through thickly packed woods and confusing fog they had arrived to be met with a village of delighted and excited wolves who all welcomed them happily with open arms. A day these wolves had been looking forward to since humans vanished to great dismay and sorrow to those that had built such a close bond likened to that of a man and their pet dog.

They were given a large welcoming feast and tour of their mythical village that would be quickly apparent how they and nature lived in harmony. The wolves tending to the lands and only took what was needed; never hunting in greed or for sport. A community soon to be seen as one big family with everyone having each other's back and had no such thing as currency as they traded in favors and product. They wanted for nothing, a content and happy community and most of all proved to be surprisingly friendly. Menzai had explained that his family are one of the few remaining lines that were once companion and protector of humans that traveled and as such tended to be somewhat disconnected to emotions or wearing the seal to better aid in their duties fearing allowing themselves to bond too closely might lead to dangers that could otherwise be avoided. Though Menzai's case proved a bit more extreme than usual which explained his seemingly cold indifference, albeit while within the village and the emotional seal inactive he did express himself a bit more, giving his thoughts and opinions he would normally refrain from yet still refrained from talking about anything personal of himself in order to retain a respectable distance.

During the four months, the four humans were settled within a cabin placed a short distance outside the village nestled within a wide field where an assortment of colorful flowers and rare plants gently swayed from a blowing breeze. Done so that they would have privacy and a place where they would not be bothered by overly curious and overzealous pups and scholars with the elders decreeing all visitors, but Menzai and higher-ups forbidden to enter without permission. Here, they were free to train to hone their magic and fighting capabilities and leisure activity save for things that might do harm to the lands and wildlife so as not to disturb the balance of nature. While visitors were forbidden, however, the village was open to them at all times where they would often be surrounded and hounded with questions or offered food and clothes or items they might want or need, all of it hand-made. Whether to explore the shops or tour the village's interesting bridge like pathways along the forest or venture into the woods (with a gauravian guide to ensure they did not wind up lost) or chose to visit the library. And among all the buildings, none came close to the size and magnitude of the Gaurvian library; even the grand hall housing the elders and important meetings was dwarfed by their most guarded and protected monument that has been built into the largest tree of the forest which some say to be at the center and oldest. Within awaited countless rooms filled with shelves after shelves of books on magic, the realm and of humans documented all the way back to the day Gaurav first came into being. Alongside books, the library housed human artifiacts gifted to them by companions of days past; items that each of the humans may come to recognize here and there as humans from across time had at one point interacted with the Gauravians.

Whatever the group needed to learn or wanted to read about concerning the history of Avalia it was given to them though were told the library's history only reached up to unto the day humans disappeared. For after that the village secluded themselves leaving the library and their knowledge behind and out of date. But now with their appearance hoped to change this with Menzai tasked to observe and bare witness to the outside events but his first and foremost goal was to seek out and ensure safety of humans.

It is due to this that Menzai had originally intended to set out after a few weeks to make sure they were settled in and comfortable had they chosen to remain in Gaurav in safety. As this was not their world or home so the troubles and issues plaguing Avalia were not of their concern and as such would not be forced to partake in the wars certain to break out throughout the realms. Yet after much discussion the group all decided they would help this realm. Some more eager than others who wanted to set off soon, but after much talk persuaded to stay at, at least for the summer as things were especially tremulous along with their lack of control and inexperience with magic would more than likely end with their deaths. And so it was decided that the group, Menzai included would remain at the village for four months to train and hone their skills both in magic and fighting capabilities.

The four months passed by with little incident; training was tough and tiring, sometimes exhausting with Dante setting up the training regime for the group as adjustments were made depending on the type of magic each had or how well they worked together. Menzai who lacked magic had placed himself to the side keeping to observing most of the times though at times would offer advice and suggestions on how to improve or adapt their usage and worked with Dante to create regimes that nearly changed by a weekly basis. On rare occasions Menzai took helm of training sessions involving heading into the forest while careful to never take them in too deep or alone while careful not to damage the woods.

As the weeks went by, the lone wolf gradually found himself becoming more comfortable around the humans. As once previously keeping to the outskirts of their cabin to now keeping watch in the field within eyeline of the cabin were they to look through the window. His days were mostly spent keeping watch for in case any of his wolven brethren tried to sneak in to observing their training. Intervening if Dante accidentally pushed too hard and even partaking in sparring to get in some training experience in fighting against magic users as his fighting capabilities were rather inadequate. Through coaching from Dante and casual chats with Aidan found unexpected common ground bringing him somewhat closer to the two. With Dante's determination and focus on his goal which he felt respect and pride towards; often talking about ways to improve on what they lacked and on magic. While with Aidan he found shared a disinterest in delving into one's personal space and personal details. Though she was proven cold and stiff to most others she seemed to somehow soften up and relax whenever it was just the two of them, often doing nothing more than sitting and enjoying the scenery without a word said or when they did talk would consists of topics of each other's world, what they were like and things they have created and more. Neither never inquired onto personal matters as the two could tell they were not of the open sort though whatever any of them wished to tell him about themselves he would listen quietly. Being the comfort any of them needed when things started to feel overwhelming and difficult knowing they could talk freely without judgement or criticism.

The four would also seem to bond and get along well enough with Dante and Darius being brothers they of course butted heads and bickered as siblings do. While Darius and Isolde were a pair that got along well while Dante seemed to better get along with Aidan; a most fascinating and learning experience it had been for him observing the humans these past four months.

Then the day that they would be soon setting off had fast approached as they would be leaving either later this evening or tomorrow morning depending on how well each of them handle the final test he planned to have them take. With it now 2pm, early into the evening; Menzai sat on his knees in a meditative pose sipping at his freshly brewed tea as he waited for the four to finish whatever activities they had chosen to do. As since they were to leave the village soon the wolf brought forth recommendation to spend these last few days taking things easy and enjoying themselves as reward for all the exhausting hard work and training they put themselves through. Before they did so, Menzai wished to see the results these last couple months had brought each of them to.

Quietly the lone wolf sipped at his tea waiting for them to gather before him when they were ready.

“Any’un heard from Bamvur?” A shifty-looking demifox approached the bar, asking those he seemed familiar with.

“Been at least a day or so since he was in ‘ere.” The bartender offered with a sad shrug.

“Saw the ol’ bastard yesterday, went and got himself hung up with the rest o’ the fools. Ain’t no sense in it. Can hardly explain that to an orc though can ya?” An elf near them pipped up, shaking his head. Roshmi was plagued by public executions, bodies were left rotten in public view as a warning.

“Fools? Hardly call having a bit of courage left in ya foolish. Damn sure it’s what we all outta be -” The foxman was cut off when the bartender slammed a fist against the bar.

“Ain’t gonna allow no talk like that in here. You don’t know whose ears are about.” The barman was stern in his warning.

“Gonna have to agree with the lad, if ya can’t live free best to die free.” Nym spoke up.

“An’ so what brings a pirate into Roshmi?” The bartender eyed Nym with a bit of suspicion.

Roshmi was now a bleak place full of suspicion, folks turning on each other to keep themselves safe from Dark Elf vengeance. Now as far as Nym was concerned this was an elf war and he wasn’t keen on getting too caught up with either side. There were some dark elves he liked and some he hated. The same could be said of light elves. He had no ties to any nation; his nation was the The Harem and his people its crew, simple as that. But the environment that the dark elf occupation in Roshmi had created was a ripe one for the story he planned to tell to catch and spread.

“Anyone ever tell you the tale of Cap’n Lizzie the Oceanblessed?" Nym offered instead of a real explanation. Those around him gave a shake of their heads or shrug of the shoulders.

“Aye finest cap’n I ever sailed with; a voice more compelling than a siren’s song, hair like the cannon’s blast, and eyes that held the sea within ‘em. I tell you this, ain’t never met a creature more born for the sea than this force of a woman. They say she was the daughter of the goddess Cari herself, raised deep within the sea’s trenches, gifted by the Leviathan with a piece of the beast’s own soul. Cap’n Lizzie, aye she was no ordinary creature, she bent the seas and all their powers to her whims.” He began the tale before one of the men interrupted.

“Hogwash. Them celestials ain’t havin’ no kids. Ain’t even sure they’re real anyways.” The foxman spoke up.

“You callin’ me a lair lad? I seen it with me own eye and I’m tellin’ ya, Cap’n Lizzie could summon the mightiest gale in a blink, could sink a Man'o'war with a single thought, and call for the creatures from the depths of the ocean to swallow its sailors whole.” Nym spoke with absolute confidence in his tale, eyeing the foxman until the lad broke and shook his head, indicating that he wouldn’t dare call Nym a liar.

“You sure this wasn’t a human?” The elf asked.

“Aye, now humans ain’t nothin’ more than old elven fairy tales, and even in them ol’ tales no mere human could do what The Oceanblessed could. Now I know ya got a whole mess going on here but things ain’t all that different on the seas. A tyrant sails the oceans, fella named Ardyn himself the Pirate King, but ya see the sea, she holds no love fer a tyrant, and neither did the sea’s daughter, Cap’n Lizzie.” Nym continued on, unbothered by the interruptions, knowing that they only meant he was piquing their interest. He made the parallels simple enough and tweaked his story into something that would want to believe in, something that they would want to tell others.

“And if this cap’n is all ya say how come we ain’t heard of her?” The foxman asked, but his tone was more excited than doubting.

“Dead men tell no tales, and them what crossed Cap’n Lizzie all lay at the bottom of the seas or in the belly of a beast.” Nym offered, and the fox lad grinned at that.

“And where’s your captain now?” The elf asked, he still held doubts and Nym didn’t mind a challenge.

“The tragedy of sailin’ with a creature not entirely of the mortal world is they ain’t destined to stay. An’ Cap’n Lizzie, aye she was more akin to a goddess than a mortal. Them celestials, they never leave us, they watch down from the stars, eyes always looking into the darkest parts o’ this world. They watched as the seas, the one place on this world with infinite freedom, was being strangled by some self-declared Pirate King prick. So they sent us the Oceanblessed, a gift to teach us to free ourselves from tyranny. An’ that’s what she did. Took a stand far off in the seas against Ardyn the Tyrant, had we not had the power of a goddess with us the whole crew of The Harem would’ve fallen that fateful day.”

Nym continued his tale, one he’d spun through every port they’d stopped at along the way to Roshmi, the story of Captain Lizzie’s last stand against the tyrant Pirate King. In Nym’s version, the Oceanblessed took on a small fleet with a single ship and skeleton crew, there was a great sea monster with many heads that rose from the deep and fell under Lizzie's command. There was a typhoon in the sky powerful enough to fling sailors from their ships, a maelstrom that swallowed ships whole, and a use of mana so powerful that it lead the goddess he called the Oceanblessed to make the most final sacrifice and return to the seas. He painted Lizzie as a martyr for freedom, spoke of how her soul left her body in the form of a wave and returned to the seas, and claimed to have seen her mortal body dissolve into foam before them.

“And the Pirate Tyrant? What happened to him?” Asked the elf, eyes sparking as he spoke.

“Aye, now there’s the rub of it. Ardyn proved to be nothin’ more than a chickenhearted coward, there in hologram alone, too gutless to face his fate in person, he only sent his men to die in his place.” Nym spat onto the floor as he spoke of Ardyn, and the foxman watched and did the same. He went on to explain that he and his crew were in the process of recruiting before tracking down the cowardly Pirate King once and for all.

The Nest proved to be an ideal spot to find future pirates, the overall crowd was both tough and rowdy and folks with lax morals and a thirst for freedom were plentiful here. Those interested in a life of piracy were sent to the docks for further assessment.

The Harem had been restocked, ready for the next excursion, recruitment was going well enough, and he was keeping his promise to ensure tales of the fallen Cap’n Lizzie reached every corner of Avalia. Nym was keeping himself occupied because their other goal, a rescue mission for a pair of Helio’s friends was proving fruitless. Nym was about ready to just find himself a few random fae folks looking for an adventure and tell Helio to forget about his missing pals and make some new ones. Based on what he’d seen in Roshmi so far it seemed more than likely that they were already dead anyhow. Course he knew enough to know about how well that would go over with the lad but they couldn’t continue to lounge around Roshmi for the rest of their days either.
