Personality: Greg is a focused and quiet individual. Working for the DoD causes you to create a certain barrier around yourself Since you aren't allowed to talk about work. After the outbreak, that nature hasn't really gone, and Greg is a quiet character. If you do get to know him, however, it is an entirely different game entirely. He wears his heart on his sleeve when he panics too. Which can make for some fairly interesting scenarios
Post-outbreak, Greg has been finding it harder and harder to deal without his modern comforts and as a result regularly breaks down in fits of sadness or occasionally a fit of rage at something when it doesn't work. His drive to hang onto the old world really does allow him to shine however in certain circumstances. If it can give him some old world comfort, then odds are Greg is going to be focused as hell.

Your First Walker Encounter: Robins AFB like most Military installations were able to hold on for far longer from walkers than other places. During the outbreak, Robins AFB became a fortress for retreating civilians. However supplies started to dwindle and the Army personnel started to not return from supply runs. Soon, anyone who worked in defence would be called forward to help defend the gates while more and more army troops left the base. Greg had been assigned to guard the side gate along with a few other DoD personnel. At that point, a small group of Walkers appeared from behind a building. Greg hadn't seen one before and had only heard about it from reports from returning soldiers. At that point, Greg was supposed to open fire and deal with it before it became a problem. Raising his gun he struggled to pull the trigger, the other members, however, were less discriminatory.
History Before Outbreak: Born over in Washington DC to two lawyers. Greg had lived a very comfortable middle-class life, going to a good school and gaining a grasp of electronics at a young age. His parents decided to quietly nurture this love for electronics and as he grew into his teenage years' computing became a second passion of his. His ability continued to grow, so much so that he was offered an early scholarship into an advanced top university at a younger age. This sort of upbringing though put a burden of success on him from a young age.
Graduating at 19 he had already caught they eyes of the DoD with his work on Electromagnetic fields and was approached to work on a small time project with them. Eager to carry on his success Greg eagerly accepted, being sent to a testing range in Nevada and away from his family. To start with Greg struggled to adapt to not having a family around him. He started to become attached to others, almost looking for a new family. After a few months that passed and he began to work on his project more and more. The project sailed through with flying colours and he had learnt a lot from his team and managers.
Seeing his potential the DoD gave him his own project to oversee Project Starlight. This saw him move to Georgia to work on it. It has taken and consumed two years of his life and up until the outbreak, Greg had almost finished. This two years of hard work came at a cost; his relationship with his parents began to break down and Greg didn't have the time to develop new relationships. All this has culminated in a secluded Greg who keeps to himself.
History Since Outbreak: For most of the post-outbreak, Greg survived by staying within the confines of Robins AFB. This was a sheltered existence where Greg could carry on with his work, isolated but safe. As the months and years went by, the supplies began to dwindle and more and more supply runners didn't come back. Despite this, the civilians and army personnel managed to set up some farms and food provisions. This has allowed the base to remain open as a settlement.
During his time at Robins, Gregs experience in electronics was truly tested. Without any limitless electrical power, and diminishing tools and supplies, Greg was forced to get creative and build rather crude and basic machines and electronics. While they aren't as pretty as Starlight or as functional as old world gadgets, Greg developed a sense of what it would take to survive beyond these base walls. And while he wasn't a mechanic at heart, the experience he had gained working on Starlight had enabled him to apply his knowledge on basic mechanical components.
In order to survive the end of the world, the settlement was closed. After the initial run of retreating civilians, the gates closed, only opening to people who were inside in the first place. This mentality allowed the settlement to survive and avoid an overcrowding situation. It also had the downside of allowing the population to dwindle. This also had the consequence of preventing them learning about the outside world. This, however, wouldn't last forever as the group began to rip itself apart.
The settlement had split into two groups; one group wanted to keep the settlement closed to outsiders. And another wanted to open the gates and interact with the outside world. After an all out war, which saw many of citizens die, Greg decided to leave Robins AFB and go it alone. What he found was a dead world. And a world he wasn't ready for. Robins afforded him more luxuries than he thought. They had installed a special hydropower generator, giving them a trickle but a constant source of power and water had been carefully filtered. During this time Greg has had to survive on his own. He has kept alive by taking technology and turning it to his advantage. While he can't have a constant source of power anymore, he has learned to draw power from batteries and how to recharge them. This combined with his knowledge of Electronics he had learnt how to make more crude devices.
Greg has survived purely by hiding and avoiding trouble. Using his newly assembled crude technology, he had created distraction devices, small speakers attached to batteries. These small devices allowed Greg to run away from walkers undetected since they get distracted. When that hasn't worked Greg has to fall back on his Glock and his basic compulsory DiD firearm training. Greg has been working his way North West, now reaching the borders of Newnan. Greg knows nothing about the area, but knows that there is a nearby national guard armoury he was hoping to access to try and resupply.
Character Quote: Nothing a bit of technology can't fix
Theme Song: The Heavy - This Ain't No Place For No Hero
How Many Walkers Have You Killed: 12
How Many People Have You Killed: 0
Why: Tries his hardest to not kill anything living, and so far has achived it
Anything Else: His Laptop is his own DoD laptop and even though it doesn't have an internet connection has loads of useful data about Georgia loaded onto it, as well as the files for project Starlight.
