Likes: Video games, mechanical things, knives & swords, sparring, winning, singing, small animals (or large animals... she's and animal fan in general), and people who don't annoy her.
Dislikes: Anything frilly or pink, dresses, singing in front of other people, vast open spaces, strong smells (especially perfume), romance novels, and people who do annoy her.
Party Trick: "Um.. I'm not usually invited to parties. I can run a lightshow... does that count?" -Annabelle
Profession: Stagehand, runs the sound and light systems at a local music venue
Biography/Personality: For as long as she can remember, Annabelle Wolfe has been invisible. That isn't to say that people literally cannot see her, or even that they actively avoid her, as neither is the case. Sometimes, she knew, people were shunned because of some offense they had committed, or because they were simply different enough from the rest of society to be hated. This was not what happened in her case People never seemed to hate her. She'd never given them any reason to. Yet whenever she entered a room, she went unnoticed. Of course, she freely admitted it was her own fault. The way she stood, defensive and unconfident; they way she spoke, a voice so soft it could be mistaken for a whisper; the black hooded coat that she never seemed to take off- none of these things screamed "Hey, look at me!" (In fact, she thought at one point, the coat probably says "Hey, I'm shady criminal or something...") It was kind of a lonely way of living, but Anna liked it that way. If nobody ever saw her, she'd never have to face her insecurities. Though she was versed in the art of swordplay (an aspect of theater choreography she'd found particularly fascinating) and was not easily shaken by the problems of the world, vulnerability terrified her. She hadn't grown up among friends in whom she could confide. Instead she'd grown up watching people. People as a whole, she discovered, hated weakness. She could never let them see that she was weak. To be hated like that... it had to be worse than being invisible. And she was certain that if they knew her, they would hate her. After all, she was a pretty quirky person behind all that silence. So she kept quiet, and kept watching. Anna liked machines better than people sometimes. Machines, she knew, didn't judge you. Neither did video games (Well, if they did it was based purely on skill.) In the few years she'd spent in college, she had also found a great love for the theater, and being a stagehand had come naturally to her. So it was that she decided how to spend her time. She enjoyed her days at work, and spent most of her free time in the arcade. Occasionally she'd enter bookstores or libraries for information on weapons and fighting- searching for new styles to incorporate into the play she was writing, but most of the time she was too lazy. The arcade required much less effort. And if she ever tired of that she could always go back to people-watching. Yet even though she was always doing something she enjoyed, she couldn't help but feel that something was missing. As she watched people at concerts and events laughing and cheering together, it made her kind of sad. She saw how people talked to each other, how they burst into fits of giggles at inside jokes, how they paired off together and spoke of love (once she'd even caught a couple of the members of one of the performing bands making out behind the stage), and she began to wonder if a complete lack of human interaction was really okay. What if they didn't hate her? What if she could laugh with them? What if she could be loved? But no, it was all too terrifying. She'd stay quiet, she decided. They'd never get to know her. Yet deep down, so deep that even she would not acknowledge it, she wished for someone to try.
If I use the character I'm thinking of, she would be a young woman barely out of her Masters Degree, so... 25 - 27 is the age range. As for what kind of Philosophy, I think I'd go with my favorite, Existentialism (specially Nietzsche), but with a good dash of other Western schools as well.
Is that of your interest?
Aaaah Nietzsche, I've had some very fun debates with people who take his words at face value. I can forsee some fun conversations with my snarky, down to earth bartender.
Dislikes: Mornings, Needles, Heights, Pain, Enclosed Spaces, Sports, and Being Bored.
Party Trick: Amaya knows many martial arts tricks and can break boards.
Profession: Amaya is a student at Shine City Academy. She is majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and minoring in Psychology. She also works part time as a waitress at a fancy traditional Japanese restaurant called the Tiny Snowflake located in Shine Junction.
Bio/Personality: Amaya grew up with two extremely busy parents as an only child. Her mother and father owned a consulting company together, so she had a lot of money growing up. She originally started taekwondo because she was alone a lot, and her parents worried about her well being. Eventually she grew to love it and started taking many other forms of martial arts. When Amaya went into college, she wanted to go away from her home and be more adventurous, but she still wanted to live in a larger city, which is why she choose Shine City Academy. She lives in the dorms on campus to get the full college experience (plus she didn't know anyone going into the academy Freshman year). Amaya didn't want to rely on her parent's money, so she got a part time job, which she absolutely loves. Amaya decided to work there because she enjoys traditional Japanese culture and also she thought the uniforms were very pretty on her (not that she'd admit that to anyone). The pay is enough to get her by, with a bit to spare on a good day.
Amaya is a quiet person, especially with strangers. She sometimes gets social anxiety because she's not used to interacting with others. Amaya is very good at handling small children, although she doesn't really like to spend time with them. Once one gets to know Amaya, she can be very kind and gentle. She cares a lot for what little friends she has. She can be silly at times and enjoys laughing with others. However, she does have a limit. If you ever get on her nerves or are rude to her, she is terrifying. Since she is well trained in martial arts, she isn't afraid to hurt others. Especially if you hurt her friends. Amaya finds the way others think interesting. She's also a great listener, but has trouble comforting. Not that she doesn't try her best in doing so. Amaya also has pocrescophobia, or the fear of gaining weight. She has never told anyone this. And while she isn't anorexic or bulimic, she is a health nut. So she works out regularly, and does her best to eat healthy foods. She also makes sure to never measure her weight. While it isn't severe, it still affects her from time to time.
I'll get my Character Sheet up sometime soon, possibly tonight because I'm in a good mood. This smart phone is prone to ruining that though so no absolute promises. An X factor is my little feline shithead that is prone to random bouts of insanity.
Aaaaand he just slipped and fell off the banister again... god damn it
Age: 19 Height: 180cm Weight: 65kg Likes: ‘Only the finest,’
Intelligent conversations, tea, vintage dolls, books (practically bibliophile), cats, bunnies, knitting and sewing her own clothes, flower and herb gardening, piano music, classic music, don’t tell but she likes EDM, daffodils, light blue, baking
Dislikes: ’I have a distaste for anything improper,’
Unmannerly conduct, public displays of affection, those who don’t keep promises, those who don’t follow the rules, senseless disobedience, loud racket, chewing gum, tardiness, children, sloppy speech, heavy or greasy food Party Trick: 'I do not want to brag, but I can make a flower bloom in a pot of tea. It’s quite beautiful,' Profession: ‘I’m a librarian, of course. I work part-time but hopefully I will be the head librarian one day. My dream job is to own my own bookstore-Café,’ Personality: Some may say she has a stick up her...well, you know but she doesn’t see it that way. Society has rules and it’s much simpler for everybody to get along if they are followed. If you must act like a barbarian, do not expect her to take a liking to you. If she corrects your grammar or syntax, think of it as a compliment and a way to say, ‘I love you and care about your education.’ Mimiko knows she’s picky, but she also knows that she’s worth it. She has been raised with a silver spoon so she may lack the integrity to work through difficult situations even if her parents were tough on her grades and activities. She’s a character that everyone loves to hate, the real challenge is finding something to like about her.
Background: Mimiko….Breckenridge. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Her parents decided to name their first child - her older sister - with a classic English name. The second would have a Japanese name in order to represent her mother’s culture. Interestingly enough, they lean toward the opposite cultures of their namesake.
Mimiko was raised on baby grand pianos with nannies and maids. Her sister slid down the curved railing at the last minute and caused trouble every morning while she had her nose stuffed in a book, waiting. She could not ever understand why Penelope refused to listen and cooperate, things went quickly and smoothly. This helped shape the way she acts and reacts in many situations with her peers.
She was always mature for her age which was further portrayed by her early height. People always mistook her for the older sister based both on action and size. Mimiko is unsure of which came first - was she mature because people thought she was larger and, therefore, older or was she always mature and simply enhanced the misconception with her size. Not that it mattered anyway.
In a way, it was a good thing that her parents never attended to her as she was allowed to choose her path as she wished. She loved ballet and water ballet when she was younger but lost interest as well as in piano. As much as she loved to hear the strings pluck inside, playing wasn’t her talent and she lacked rhythm.
As her childhood interests waned the velocity of her book reading picked up speed. She had always loved books but she found interest in a large span on categories. She became a voracious reader, the pages slipping through her fingers just long enough for her to digest the story and then moving along to yet another one. The library in her house was modest but she soon ran out of books that interested her within it. Her favorite books are classics and poetry books. She even dabbles in young adult sections every now and them - it is possible to find true gems.
She decided to come to Shine City to leave their gated community for something a bit more exciting and with more opportunity for her future business. She was enrolled in the Academy in a rather dull and normal process - grades, merits, and daddy’s help. Much was the way she was signed part-time with the library and received an open apartment more quickly than usual.
"There was this one time, we were contracted to guard some snot-nosed pop stars. You know the type. And I was like, wait, wouldn't the cause of justice be better served if we, you know, shot them?"
"So then the LT said, 'well yes it would but we wouldn't get paid'. And then I knew I was home."
@Knight of Doom Oh, I love Amaya's new face claim! Her eyes are gorgeous!
@Adelynn Ryder It's perfect now! She'll be good to go when the boss decides to get the actual thread going. ^.^
@Azaria Blue A perfect CS, I think she's good to go. Mimiko actually seems like she has a lot in common with my actual character for this season, maybe they can be friends!
...She does chew a lot of bubble gum though, so she might get on her nerves. XD
An I'm just gonna leave this here so I don't lose it in my jumbled mess of a filing system.
Name: Calliope Cross Nickname: She's been called everything from cantaloupe to kaleidoscope, but she'd rather you just call her by her given name. Age: 26 Height: 5'8” ((About 173 cm)) Weight: 130 lbs. ((About 59 kg))
Likes:"I like cats, dogs, fish, bunnies, frogs, snakes, penguins, basically any sort of animal...What?...oh...What else besides animals? Erm...haha...snow cones are alright, I guess?"
Her job, animals, sewing, horticulture, bad movies, tea, cooking, small spaces, bubblegum, reading, card games, jogging, hugs, the smell of old books, being outdoors, studying, long baths, stuffed animals, cute dresses, dumplings, and preparing for the imminent downfall of human civilization.
Dislikes:"Ummm...I'm not a huge fan of leeks."
Leeks, strangers randomly touching her hair, being cooped up inside all day, curry, hospitals, psychiatrists, needles, cold weather, being cold in general, bullies, waiting in lines, people who are mean to waitstaff, American beer, clowns, magicians, headaches, and the imminent downfall of human civilization (planning for it is fun, but the thought of it actually happening gives her so much anxiety).
Party Trick:"...*fidget fidget*...I can't do anything interesting, why, have you heard something? Move along, please!"
Profession: Works at Shine Aquarium as a dolphin and seal trainer. Studying to become a veterinarian and is set to graduate next summer.
Bio: The first time it happened was the day of her mother's funeral and little Calliope was terrified, because goldfish shouldn't be able to talk, right? But her's did, saying very plainly and clearly, "Feed me, Calliope, feed me!" She ran to tell her father but he dismissed it as a silly game of make believe and didn't give it a second thought at the time.
Of course when she turned ten and was still claiming animals spoke to her it was understandably less charming and more worrisome. Jordan Cross took his daughter to see a psychiatrist and they couldn't quite figure out what the cause for her elaborate delusions were either, but they were able to prescribe numerous medications that helped drown out the voices. Calliope hated them of course, but her father seemed relieved when she stopped talking to the neighbor's iguana, so she kept taking her pills to keep him happy.
School was hard for her due to her bookish nature and as a result she never garnered many friends or suitors. Calliope didn't mind though, she would much rather study animal medical journals and play chess with her father than flounder through small talk with her classmates anyways. She graduated at the top of her class and decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian despite her father's misgivings and enrolled in the local university for the following fall.
It was during this time that Calliope blossomed into a lovely young woman that was no longer riddled with acne and braces, but her social anxiety and skiddish behavior kept her from forming any lasting attachments. She graduated with her bachelor's degree just a few short days before her father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. Calliope didn't leave the house for weeks, stopped taking her medication, and just when it seemed like everything was getting too much to handle and she was pondering taking drastic measures, she heard a strange voice…
"Shit girl, you lookin' ratchet as hell! When was the last time you ran a comb through yo hair? That old man was dope as fuck but damn girl, you gotta cut that shit out. You're messin’ with my vibe!"
There was no one in the house except for her father’s cat. It seemed like the voices were back.
Sonya coaxed Calliope into showering, then combing her hair, then slapping on some deodorant, and slowly, piece by piece, things started to get better. Calliope had been scared that she would be completely alone without her father, but it seemed that as long as she didn't take her medicine she had found a new friend. So she doesn't refill her prescription and when the semester finished up she transferred to Shine City for a fresh start.
Calliope then bought a small house with the money her father left and her and Sonya took in a stray cat that had been meandering around the garbage bins. Her grades were good, she got a new job at the aquarium, and everything was going well. But here lately, her cats have begun to worry that if they don’t socialize their human soon she would be forever doomed to be a lonely cat lady for the rest of her days...

I thought I'd pop Suzy over here since everyone also seems to be doing the same :) I didn't make much changes, only that she extended her deadline to another month. I'm excited to play her again. It's so much fun being a diva XD
Name: (full please): Bae Su Ji (Suzy) Age: 16-35: 23 Height: 5’5 Weight: 105lbs Likes: Fashion/Photography/Order/Perfection/Intelligent people/ Origami/ Control
Party Trick: Suzy is exceptional at origami and can create practically anything out of paper
Profession: Professional Photographer for popular Korean magazine, CeCi
Bio/Personality:
Everything was planned out for Suzy before she could even talk. Born from two distinguished politicians in Korea, it was expected of her to achieve excellence in life. For them, that meant placing at the top of her class and becoming a successful lawyer in her future. Suzy grew up obediently, studying until her eyes dried out and following any orders her parents gave her. It wasn’t until high school did Suzy finally began speaking her opinion.
Planning her outfits and going on endless shopping sprees were things Suzy extremely loved. With her life constantly filled endless equations and rules, her clothes were the only outlet she had. She's also extremely girly, always making sure she smells nice and her nails are perfectly polished. During high school, she stumbled across a photography class and instantly fell in love. At the age of 16, Suzy started her own blog online, using a fake alias, and shared the pictures she took of various fashionable people with the world.
Life for Suzy was all about perfection and because of that, she expects nothing but the best of herself. Things must be done right, otherwise there’s no point. She follows an exact schedule, often OCD at times but the idea of structure puts her at ease and calms her. Lazy and unmotivated people drive Suzy crazy, something she’ll make sure everyone knows. Suzy’s also not afraid to tell people her mind and can be outright bossy. While it might come across as rude, Suzy likes to thinks she tells it as it is. On top of that, she tends to be judgmental about the way people dress. Appearance tends to tell a lot about a person, something Suzy practically lives by.
By the time she turned 18, Suzy had no intention of becoming the perfect lawyer her parents wanted her to be. It didn’t go well though when she skipped the college exams her whole education had been preparing for, resulting in the biggest argument she’d ever had with her parents. After bombshells of truth and shock, Suzy's parents never trusted her again. When she graduated high school, her parents chucked her some money and threw her out the house, disowning her completely. It was the most humiliating thing she’d ever experienced, she even changed her name to Suzy so she wouldn't have to face the mockery of it. Like everything else around her though, Suzy moved on.
With the money her parents gave her, she moved into an apartment and focused all of her energy on fashion and photography. She invested half of the money her parents gave her into local stocks, which eventually grew into enough money to financially support her, but she still worked two part-time jobs for security. Before she even realized it, her blog became incredibly popular among the teen community and had over half a million views. At the age of 20, Suzy received an invitation to work at one of the most popular magazines in Korea, Ceci. With her career rocketing and the stocks flying, by the time she was 23, Suzy was already extremely successful and wealthy for someone of her age.
Ceci Magazine recently issued a story to be done over Japanese fashion, assigning none other than Suzy for the task. They flew her and a new and shy writer to Shine City, where she would spend the next two months collecting pictures and absorbing the overall culture. After a few months, she decided to extend her deadline to another month in order to thoroughly capture the fashion.
