Current I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

Acts of rebellion and being drunk on the job. The teachers are not setting a great example.
This is a true Alter as far as differences yet similarities to the original story goes.

Yea, the idea was to go "bad end" route with this one since we didn't have any alters that went that way yet.

I'm sorry, I can't accept a character based on Fionn that doesn't have to suck their thumb to use her wisdom powers.

That's too adorable to exclude. Mika's probably going to stick the tip of her thumb in her mouth when she reads her blade. Just as a quirk.

I'll probably wait until the next round of posts to introduce her, but I don't see her showing up too frequently during outings and such unless she's requested to.

You've got discord and a lot of other RP places to choose from too. I still manage to fill up on players within 24 hours any time I run a check, so I hesitate to use the word dead. Less active? Sure. Dead? Deffo nono.

Also I'm in my 30's and personally know several other people on the forum in my age group. We're out there but we aren't as numerous as the younger ones. Then again, who goes around on a forum waving their age around?
Honestly I was more interested in embodying the myths rather than the characters that appeared in them. But after spending way more time than I usually spend pouring over confusingly translated poems, misinformation, etc etc, I think I'm just going to go with primarily focusing on Fionn.

Without further adue, meet your student counselor.

@TheWendil Okay, so I have some questions.

I pretty much have everything but the actual magical girl part figured out, hence where the questions come in.

So I was thinking about doing was an alter tale based on the Fenian Cycle. Yes, Cuhullin is a total chad, but I really like the stories about the more "human" Fianna clan members led by Fionn mac Cumhaill, or Finn McCool as he is commonly called in English.

My issue is that there is no single story that these dudes appear in. They're in several poems written in a body of literature called the Fenian Cycle, which is a collection of early irish writing that spans from the 9th to 14th century. So my question is for a grimoire would it be acceptable to use a collection of stories like the Fenian Cycle that more or less follows the exploits of the Fianna, or would I have to pick a single poem/story to draw inspiration from?
Alright, I'll let you know if I have any other questions.
@TheWendil Perfect. Now if I recall, alters don't like to work with the Grand Ministry, so it would be unlikely for there to be alter grim to be a faculty member, correct?
I do think Roma has a few options regardless if she wants to go attack or talkie route, as they're in a mall and it's probably possible to aproach a few magical girls at a time instead of everyone at once. Though I don't typically like to discuss stuff that's about to happen, because like, why not just wait and read it in post?

Also asking for a friend but are we still allowed to make a second magical girl, and if so, any limitations we have to contend with? Like is it still okay to app alters or are certain grimior levels too high/low? Maybe a preference for more students/faculty/antagonists?

Just hours ago, the weather channel had announced an unusual sunny week for Pax Septimus. An hour ago they changed that forecast for partial clouds today and scattered showers for the rest of the week. A half hour ago there were reports that a tropical storm would cause torrential downpour for hours at a time, and might cause flooding in some areas. Now Pax Harbor was watching for tornados, and it seemed like a pretty big one was forming.

But this was no ordinary wind storm.

Oros waited on the top of Axis Mundi Enterprises, the tallest building in Pax Septimus. While most buildings were about five stories tall, and a few were as high as fifty stories, Axis Mundi was over a hundred stories. She could get a view of just about every other part of the massive city. Though the overcast skies and distant tornado hampered visibility. But good visibility wasn't essential for what was coming. The cultist had opened up a lawn chair and sat in it. Cold lemonade in one hand and her sword in the other.

”Oros?” Sharr approached the relaxing esper. ”It's going to arrive shortly, isn't it?”

”Why do you think I'm drinking this? It's going to turn into a bloody Mary later.” She slurped her drink. ”The new glamors work great, by the way. I'm glad the Grand Magistrate got them done in time.”

”You're welcome?” The purple haired girl tipped her head. ”Your backup was quite old. You're fortunate I'm so good at my job.”

”Fortune implies I didn't seek you out for that purpose.” Oros stood up and set what was left of her drink in her seat. ”Guess this is going to be goodbye for a time?”

”For a time.” Sharr smiled. ”But you convinced that doctor to come help you out, right?”

”It's not the same though.” Oros ran for the building's edge. ”But that's enough foreshadowing for now. we've got places to be!”

"Hello agents! Hopefully you've read all the documentation we have on the Holy Diver, because it's finally going to land. Its first spell is going to be a tide of blood. Estimates place the Diver right in front of the historic district, so if you could head to the roof of Precinct #11 that would be swell! Oh, and I doubt this will be a surprise to anyone, but monster activity has really ramped up recently. We expect them to come out in droves while we try and stop this thing. Binky and I will be en route to your location, but we may be a bit late."

”Fritzi! The bullets do nothing! Help!”

"That's my cue! Here's to a successful operation!"

Such a standard message from Fritzi, yet this was probably going to be their greatest foe yet. Regardless of where the Gemini espers stood, they would notice the rain had started to pick up. In addition to that, a dark shape was forming in the clouds.

@The World

Shimer was lit up with reports on the Holy Diver. Everything from estimated arrival times to possible locations. Among all this was a few shit posts about a rare world boss spawning that dropped rare loot. But none of that was an issue for Marrie at the moment. While rain fell on Pax Septimus, her zombie companion had decided to make a run for it.

It had been weeks since Stacy had a head, and it seemed that she was done bumbling around Marrie's home waiting for something to happen. But maybe not. It wasn't like Stacy made a habit of communicating her desires, as she had no head and couldn't read text messages. Moreover, it seemed like something in this aproaching storm was calling her.
