It's not really cold until it hits, like, 20 F. And even that's gentle. It hit -14 F once.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gremlin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

As she sat around, Stella browsed through the Center's brochures, picking a few out and stuffing them in her backpack. If there was any information on that house, she'd want it. It seemed mysterious, but also like it could have been on purpose? For a town so invested

What time was it, anyway?

As she picked up her Pokemon, Stella looked to her right, curiously. Move tutor? She'd heard mention of them from trainers. She gave Joy her thanks and approached the tutor. "Hello. You're a Move Tutor? Anything... you can teach a Blipbug?" Having something more than Struggle Bug would be nice, but maybe it just wasn't possible. Surely, a Pokemon like that must evolve... How else would it survive?

"I've got some others. How about a Tyrunt? Or a Joltic?" She was certainly interested in expanding the movesets her Pokemon knew. She wondered if any of the kids around here knew about rare or uncommon pokemon in town. She had an extra electric type that might make a good pet, she could trade for information.

Academia could be competitive, and Thora already felt like a friend. She didn't want to poison that by digging where she wasn't appreciated. But, Thora was only joking. Whew. "Ah, yes, such family history would be most informative for my counter-strategy."

"There's a specific test for the Elite Four? Makes sense... It must be really hard. I wonder who has it worse, the applicant or the facilitators? I suppose that would depend on if the applicant makes the cut or not."

As they entered the town, Stella was greeted by pleasant scents and beautiful flowers everywhere. The town was called Florasong, after all. "Wow. It's like the whole town is a park. So different from Edda. I've heard about this place (Starbor, too), but seeing it yourself is worth it." She found herself sniffing some nearby flowers, giving a contented sigh before turning back to Thora, "I think I can see the Center from here. I won't turn down the company if you're not doing anything, though."

She'd want to rest her Pokemon at the center and restock on her supplies. Get some more potions, pokeballs, see what else they had. She also had a lot of new Pokemon that hadn't been looked over by Nurse Joy yet.

Yuka directed then in to a tavern, The Pretty Flower, and Orias decided to come with them. "Hah, can't pin me down." Aiko slid an arm around Yuka and entered the tavern with her. Orias was busy convincing himself this was ok, the poor stressed, anxious thing.

"You'll get your rest. Later." The rest would be important, as well. Aiko would manage his sleep, tonight. But for now, it was time to relax with these lovely people. Perhaps Aiko should have come here sooner.

They did party and drink, and when Orias seemed to be fading out Aiko encouraged them to find rest for the rest of the night. It would be while they all rested that Aiko would come to Orias. They would manage his sleep that night, while they talked.

Trying to figure out her team? "Oh! Ah, n-no, just... Wondering how he fit into your teams. He would be as much of a puzzle to fight, as he is a strong contender, I imagine. Ground-types will get put right back in the dirt, if they come in too cocky. You have more? Uwaaah, lucky," Stella stared with a certain envy, though she reminded herself that she'd just have to find her own rare Pokemon. And that she already has a shiny Tyrunt. Speakin' of.

"Ya tired, boy?" Kaebe seemed a little slow. Stella held up his ball and lasered him, "go on and rest in your ball, then. Put your feet up." She holstered it and held her hand up for her Joltic to climb into. She brought Niblet down to about chest level and held her there so she could pet the fuzzy thing. "Niblet, I know you ate Kaebe's paralysis earlier, but are you hungry?"

She saw Florasong ahead of them, relieved for the safety of a town. She had Thora with her, granted, but it wasn't a complete guarantee, after all. She'd want to get to the PokéCenter right away, and also see what's in stock at the market. Her Pokedex told her she had money to spend. If she caught enough rare Pokemon, she could buy a house.

"I guess it makes sense, you have more of those Electrode. As gym leader, are you involved in raising them? Wait, you're my age, aren't you? You're a gym leader?!"

It was shaping up to be a good night. Having the fun-loving Yuka along for some sight-seeing and bar hopping would ensure a good time, and it almost seemed like there wouldn't be any wet blankets, until Orias directed his attention toward them. "Secrets?" Aiko looked around at the people nearby, the thin crowds. "Oh, should we not meet with more secrecy? You leave that to me. You just go and rest for now, if you like. We will gush about our secrets in secrecy tonight, if you are so eager."

Secrecy was pretty easy. Just visit someone in their dreams. Aiko could exert enough influence on the mind to help a person remember it, but reinforcing it through the next day would definitely help. They'd need to get into a library, there might be demonology books they could use to help Orias remember their discussion to come.

"But, let's not dampen the moment. If nothing else, you should take the opportunity to engage with the local traditions and culture, if you will not rest." It will make for a wonderful backdrop to our chat in your dreams. "Show your future allies what kind of man you are."

"Naw, that's fine." Stella smiled, feeling a little like friends already. She had that kind of energy. If she's a gym leader, is she older? "Oh, yeah. I suppose you could do that, huh? Hmm... Hm?" Electric/flying types weren't much of a thing. Other Pokemon could learn Fly, though, like Flygon. Somehow, this woman felt like an electric-type gym leader (perhaps because of the rescue), and she couldn't think of any electric-types that would have learned fly. Or was she a grass-type leader? Nah, she wasn't green or gardeny enough. "Who's your flying Pokemon?"

"Apricots? No wonder he's so wooden." She found herself staring, fascinated by the difference. "He's a real blast from the past, just like Kaebe." She placed her hand carefully on the back of Kaebe's neck and shoulders, rubbing softly. "Good work, you two. Do you want to return?"

Kaebe shook his head, while Niblet jumped into her arm, climbed up her arm, her shoulder, neck, onto her head to perch decoratively in her hair. Stella reached up and pet her. The two relaxed into her touch. "I'll take that as a no." Stella looked either way, remembering which way she came from before starting them off toward town. She might have lost her sense of direction of she'd had to run earlier.

"That's a strong Electrode, too. Is he part of one of your gym teams?"

Ahh, what wonderful atmosphere. And after a lovely display on the ride over, too. Poor Xavier might have a heart attack. The dread that had become so heavy in the air seemed so distant, but they were sure it would catch up. Surely, these fairies wouldn't be impervious to the previous... "Announcements." But, somehow, the festive atmosphere remained. Perhaps that was owed to the lack of a brewing rebellion in the face of a cowardly king. It was interesting to consider what would become of that powder keg... If the dark elves moved into fortify their hold on the city, would the citizens be able to resist? It was hard to believe in that. Hopefully, the tavern owner would be ok. They should have told him to flee.

They felt invigorated already, but they also had to be careful. Magically to inclined beings might be able to sniff them out, but... Their diet isn't the usual feasting on the vital forces or mental energy of a prey target. They found a good balance of give and take, like the exchange of breath between plants and animals. Would it alter their "scent"? Does anyone even know what a demon would smell like? That... Was a very good question.

Perhaps the fairies might be more receptive to their presence than the general. It would still be a hard sell. But, they could offer valuable information.

"Rest? But the night has only just begun! Aaah, the air is so crisp and the melody of voices is as beautiful as the Tree of the World in the distance. I simply must mingle. Yuka, would you care to join me in prowling the city, after we locate our accomodations?"

"Terrestrial?" Aiko drew a slow breath and sighed heavily as they then turned to the shop keep. They held a couple of peacock fans, placing them on the counter along with 60 amas. "This city is such a beautiful place, it's a shame everyone seems to look down on us. It's so hard to bring myself to shop in a place like this, when I feel so unwelcomed. You'll let this cover the difference, won't you?" He reached out and touched the hand off the shop keep when the opportunity presented itself, shooting him up with pheromones. Just say yes, damnit.

Aiko would hand one of the fans over to Xavier, smiling softly. "This might help you with channeling your magic. We'll have to try it out later. Probably... Not inside the city. Maybe if they've got training grounds."
