I've got just my WIP for the noble thus far, which I will put below if anyone's interested! Most of it is done, but just finished what I was going to do for tonight and wanted to put it somewhere to remind me to finish later. XD

@Izurich@Fading Memory@HylianRose

Still waiting on GM's response, but I'll let you know that I'm ok with the Underground serving as the main villain group.

@Crusader Lord

If you're having second thoughts, I could always relocate Esme's house and it won't bother me, or at least work around your idea for a united Scandinavia.

You're fine! All is good, and I think I am getting back on the right track now at least when making something as well.
So ultimately I maaaaaay have just realized I have written myself into a corner, and will need to in the end redo my noble idea from scratch.

My noble idea has come to revolve around the idea of a United Scandinavia under an empire, which to put it most simply and not get too wordy ended up with a really powerful absolutist royal family and basically powerless (politically) nobility. Etc. (Insert overthinking and overcomplicating things here because history is fun to learn about and look up). However, this all ended up being written in a bit of a vacuum mostly, due to work IRL and such going on and the like.

Thus I am only now just realizing that my ideas clash with background stuff in Esme's lore. And I am a silly goose who overthought the whole thing to a point that now I feel a little ridiculous. So I think I'm going to take the easier solution for me at this venture, as well as in hindsight, and just try for making a simpler idea for my Noble character. XD

But for the moment, as of writing this post, it is time to sleep. Maybe.
I've sketched a knight character but I am struggling with a good name. I feel like the name kind of sets up everything else... Maybe we can crowdsource ideas based on what I came up with?

Charlie for the 'either sex can use it' nature of the name. Nice and stealthier~

lol
So, excluding completed chars (accepted or not), what we publicly know to be in the works:
- @Crowvette's Noble
- @Fading Memory's Noble
- @Crusader Lord's Noble
- @Expendable's Noble
- @Kero's Knight
- @The Savant's Knight

Did I miss anyone?

I am also in the works on a knight! :D

And....this week has been irl work busy like heck, working tomorrow too, and Saturday I'll be gone all day on irl distant-family-assisting business. XD
I've been tossing around the concept for a boyish/reverse trap knight, but that's about as far as I've gotten. It might be too on the nose.

As long as you have fun with it, i'd think, all is good! :D
@HylianRose So I've worked out a decent bit of the app for my Scandinavian Prince/Noble, as it were, but the idea hinges a bit on him having a sixth skill that is "Expert" while the rest are Journeyman, Apprentice, and Novice in kind. Is this acceptable, or should I switch ideas to make someone different who isn't a physically frailer veritable savant in some field who is coming to the school? I didn't even include him having a singular talent to try to compensate, but idk if that works.

Though thinking on things, I am also curious.....since we are short knights for the most part, would it better fit if I just made a knight instead to help the numbers? I also want to check this, in case as GM you feel we really do need some more balancing in numbers here. Because either way I don't mind, and my knight might be a simpler thing to write than my current noble. lol. XD

I think the most haunting thing to Millie would be a Hapsburg.

I think the most haunting things to a Hapsburg in turn would be a healthy genetic variance, normal-sized jawlines, and a random Serb with a gun. Based on historical evidence at least.

But that is as mean as I'll get with history.

That is a hilarious image in my head. Everyone fighting about who is Rome.

The Byzantines, grabbing the mic: "Are you even truly ROMAN if you aren't constantly backstabbing each other, literally that is, in the political sphere and otherwise? Can you truly be ROMAN, if you aren't an utter beauracratic nightmare to navigate? Are you even truly ROMAN, unless you are having a generations-long beef with some big nation in the middle east? HMM?! HMMMM?!?!"

*drops mic, walks off, and then has a ddedicated 'mic picker-upper' servant pick it up so as to not leave a mess behind*
<Snipped quote by The Savant>

Millie: "Holy Roman Empire." 😡

But they ain't even Romans. 🤣 Ah well, as funny as when that time Peter the Great and Suleiman the Magnificent claimed they were Romans too, I guess. Everyone and their mother wanted a piece of Caesar's ass.

But currently, going by the zeroth IC post, Russia is currently Public Enemy#1 due to the Ukraine invasion.

All we need now is someone casually asserting that Byzantium somehow survived the Ottomans in this wacky world, while sending the Byzantine heir to the school, and you get three nations claiming to be Rome. Let them fight!

XD

I promise it won't be me doing that, pinky promise, even if it sounds like a funny meme or potentially a bit fun really...

Front Foyer, Stellar Toy Company, Industrial District, Byjerfal City

(Urban Exploration)

"Calling Out For A Hero(es) Till' The End Of The Niiiiight"

Navigating through the somewhat narrow alley between two warehouses and through a hole in an old fence, would bring Clarissa to her goal. The unlocked doors to the toy factory itself. There didn’t seem to be any way to get up from the outside currently…which meant, the only way up…would be inside.

Pushing past the rust covered doors that creaked with age, Clarissa would find herself standing in a small foyer. A subtle chill in the air persisted. The cries of some murkrow could be heard both above and further within, but something was telling her there were certainly more than just murkrow and the usual urban pokemon here.

The rust-caked doors creaking open was a sure sign the factory itself was in more than a visible state of disrepair. Perhaps literally, even, at that, as when she attempted to extend the range of her powers for a moment to try to get an idea of things a number of dizzying sensations hit the psychic trainer outrighht. All upon her entering into the little abandoned foyer. For a moment, the psychic would suddenly seem to go pale in the face before leaning on the nearest wall with her left arm as she tried to stay standing in the heat of the moment.

"Bun! Bun."

Sir Lopsalot would leap off, the hair on the back of his little neck standing on end, as he stuck close to his trainer and tried to look over the little foyer. Rather, it was perhaps more as if he was looking for anything 'bad' in particular, and keeping an eye out for his trainer in the meantime. Hadn't seen her much like this for a while, and it was a little worrying to the Buneary as he kept his ears and eyes open for any potential trouble.

For her part, Clarissa would restrict her powers more and try to slow her breathing down. Deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out. Focus on the tasks in front of her. Repeat. Yet as she would turn and let her back lean against the wall instead, she knew one thing for certain. This wasn't simply an abandoned factory. It was literally haunted. The palpable sense of lingering....emotions. Of things long gone. Of things still here. It had been her mistake to enter the place too brazenly with her powers reaching out to check out the immediate surroundings, that had been her mistake, but at least now she knew one thing for certain-

"Bun."

She needed backup. Not because she couldn't control herself in here, but more so because the potential presence of ghost-type Pokemon was not going to her advantage in all of this. If she wanted to get to the roof, she needed help, and frankly trying to fight ghost types with a normal type without anti-ghost moves was a fool's errand. Not unless they wanted to try to run for it, and that was its own kind of dangerous anyway. At this point she wished Ripley would show up to assist, perhaps, as certainly his Pokemon didn't seem like a normal type to her eyes. Made her wish she'd scanned the little thing before leaving, almost, but that was already well behind her now for the most part.

Using her legs to proper her up, and her back still resting upon the left wall, Clarissa would whip out her Pokedex and quickly try to whip up a 'group text' of sorts with her hands as her eyes focused down on the screen. She had no idea if anyone else was still around from the starting group, or if everyone had 'jumped ship' to go elsewhere as it were, but it was worth a shot to get some assistance in a hurry maybe. Either way, she wanted to get that blasted Murkrow and needed to be in time for the contest....but more than that, who knew what else they could run into along the way? Something else to catch with the assistance of others not using a normal type Pokemon? Greater dangers lurking deep inside? Etc?

'Haunted Factory - Help Needed'

This is Clarissa, from the group of people who were brought to Professor Camphor's Lab earlier.

Is there anyone else still around in Byjerfal who could come assist me at the Stellar Toy Company building? I'm trying to go catch a Murkrow on the roof of the building, or another Pokemon as well that might be found here at this rate, but all I have at my disposal is a Normal type Pokemon. As such I wish to see if anyone would be able to come assist, and if so please text me a response with your contact information and to tell me you're coming to assist.

Instructions on how to get here in the Industrial District will be located at the bottom of this group text as well. I'm in the front foyer of the building as well.

Please forgive me and ignore this message if you're not interested, and I wish to give my apologies for interrupting you all like this out of the blue. I've not acquired any specific contact information as of yet, and so this route of contact was my only course of action for the time being. Once I get some contact information, I can avoid using this sort of method in the future at least.
Clarissa

Letting out a small sigh, the psychic would hit 'send' on the message and let her head rest backwards against the wall as well. Hopefully someone would come to assist, at least, though if not she would have to debate the alternatives: Leave, or make a desperate run for the roof. Neither sounded appetizing after the work of trying to locate the Murkrow's nesting location, at least, but there was still enough time in the day if she got some help to catch a Pokemon or two and make it to the Contest proper in good timing. But....this was certainly not what she thought would occur on her first day as a proper trainer and heading out to assist the Professor.

Still, in the meantime she'd keep her Pokedex out for a response. Or, well, if anything she could scan with it popped out of the woodwork. Literally.
