The Skyrose Multiverse began with the apocalypse RP, Abandoned Hope. This RP, which I GMed with @BlueSky44, incorporated a lot of lore from various shows and books that we liked. At first, we thought that was the biggest connection it would have. It has now expanded into a fully blown universe, with multiple GM's running connected RP, and an established continuity throughout the timeline.
@Forsythe No worries! I'm not a Pym family expert either lol. The Pym family lore pretty much matches the MCU, with the exception that we restored Pym as Ultron's creator. So Pym has a kid, Hope, and she's in a relationship with Scott Lang who has a daughter, Cassie (Cassie will be an NPC in AA). So if anything, she has something akin to a niece. Janet is around, was rescued from the quantum realm. We did a soft redo of his motivations for making Ultron, where in the lore, he makes Ultron to try to make something that could travel to the quantum realm and retrieve Janet (+ some other PCs who had gotten trapped there).
TLDR - Pym has his MCU family, he made Ultron to rescue Janet from the Quantum Realm and it backfired on him.
EDIT - He also basically made Vision in this reality as well, since the Age of Ultron was done with the time travel nonsense following comics lore rather than movie lore. So Vision would be a sibling.
@Forsythe Looked at this quickly, and I think the main sticking point here does come down to the Stark Family connection. I think with the conceit that she's a better Ultron, that she was a robot made by a famous genius, that she'd be better suited for the Pyms. (We follow the comics lore more closely here with Ultron, having him be made by Henry Pym). (Another note on the Stark thing - we have a pre-existing character in this RP'verse who is Tony's kid, so by this RP Tony has grandchildren, so I think the lone legacy of Stark I don't think would work as effectively for Antonia as it might have otherwise).
For the faceclaim - if you can only find one image you like that's good enough! Can even be a drawing.
@Martian I think for me, it feels somewhat like two different concepts? Like, I think the dire wraith changeling idea is cool, but I don't see the reason why that kid should be adopted by Kyle and JP. (So sorry this is being a bit pedantic) - I think if you want a kid of Kyle and JP, then they can be a mutant - or if you want the dire wraith or the demigod, then they shouldn't have Kyle + JP as parents.
@PatientBean No worries fam! :) If it sways your opinion at all, this RP is going to be more school centric than Blue's X-Men RP. The characters are teenagers here, whereas in X-Men they're in their 20s. The X-Men also are more established superheroes and have fought some huge villains, whereas these kids are brand new.
@Forsythe Hey there! You basically don't need to know any lore - anything that is important will be explained in one of my IC posts. The basic vibe of the setting for this RP is that we're in the near future, there's now tons of schools for superheroes, and the Avengers have gone global. Anything more specific than that, you honestly don't need to know. Canon MCU stuff should be enough to get you by, and I'll let you know if anything needs a tweak!

@Martian Oh I love Northstar! He and Kyle just adopted a kid in the comics together too, it was very sweet. I chatted with my co-GM and we like the concept, but think that it could be simplified - i.e., either he's the adopted kid of Northstar & Kyle and he has powers, or he is a demigod kid of a god.

He's snarky and sarcastic, and prone to dark humor. No one would describe him as nice, but he can be kind to those he deems worthy. He doesn't care what other people think about him. As long as his loved ones are alive and healthy, they could see him as the devil and he'd be fine with that.

How did you discover your powers: Percy's first power to develop was his ability to understand and communicate in any language. He first properly noticed this power when out at dinner with his family, when he calmly ordered his food in fluent Italian, despite only speaking English and Russian. His secondary power, a variation of his sister's power, he discovered while at school in gym class. It was dodgeball day and Percy suddenly disappeared and reappeared about ten feet away, just as a ball had been about to nail him in the head.
General History: Percy is the second child of Avengers Dominika and Maria Novikova, also former agents of SHIELD. His parents were part of the West Coast Avengers, regularly jaunting off to go save the world (or at least, the west coast of the United States). When the Avengers then transitioned from having limited and fixed rosters to becoming a global force where any Avenger could be called to respond at any moment, the family remained in San Fransisco. His parents would be taken off to work with a teleporter, whereas Percy and his sister Diana (three years his elder) would be put in daycare with the other Avengers kids.
Growing up, Percy was never really interested in playing with other kids. He liked to read, devouring just about any book that he could get his hands on. The classics were always his favorite. He was obsessed with Ancient Greece and its mythology, imprinting heavily on the Percy Jackson series (after all, he had the same name as the protagonist). When he wasn't reading, he would be off exploring, sometimes ending up in areas he had no business being. And when those and his other hobbies failed him, he'd watch reality TV with his moms and sister - he loved to criticize the outfits. It was his favorite part.
His sister's mutant power manifested first, as she displayed the ability to teleport. Percy was slightly jealous, thinking up what sort of cool power he might get. He had a little diary he carried around with him, where he'd record anything that could potentially be the sign of a power manifesting - ironically, he missed his power when it first came about. He had been wandering around in Chinatown and didn't notice that he could roughly understand everything that was being said. It was a few months later that both of Percy's abilities had manifested.
His sister had already been attending Avengers Academy for a little while before Percy was enrolled. It's his first year at the institute, as well as his freshman year of high school. And while he won't admit it, he's a little bit excited.
Proposed Arcs:
I think that Percy is a bit of a hopeless romantic. I'd love for him to get into some byzantine and twisted, complicated love story - something that will cause him to cry silently, claim he's better off alone, but realize how much he misses the other person. And then, once he realizes how much he cares for this person, how far is he willing to go? And what is he willing to do?
I'm also a huge fan of the classic time travel plots, where your future self comes back and you have to try to change the course of your own timeline. That could be fun.
He idolizes Odysseus, and calls himself Odysseus, so it's time for that monkey's paw to drop.

Percy's mother, Maria ("mom"), was an Olympic athlete recruited by SHIELD, specializing in archery. While working at SHIELD as part of the Secret Warriors team, Maria fell in love with Percy's other mother, Novikova ("mama"). While Novikova was fired from SHIELD not too long after, Maria continued to serve with the Secret Warriors, up through the dissolution of the team following a disastrous mission in the alternate reality of Earth-257. Since then, Maria has been an Avenger alongside her wife, Novikova.
While Percy can seem like an asshole, he really is quite compassionate and cares strongly about others - quality that he gets from his mom. He learned from her to be loyal and strong, and to help those who cannot help themselves - even if he might be giving some attitude while doing it.

Percy's mother, Novikova ("mama") was somewhat of a prodigy, earning her PhD in Nuclear Physics before she was 22 years old. She met Percy's other mother, Maria ("mom"), at SHIELD, as they were both part of an experimental team called the Secret Warriors. A series of questionable and somewhat destructive decisions led to Novikova being fired from SHIELD, but finding employment with the West Coast Avengers due to a close tie to Hank Pym. Novikova has been working as an Avenger with the alias Quartz ever since.
Percy gets a lot of his idealistic, stubbornness from his mother. She nearly triggered the apocalypse to save the life of her best friend; Percy would do the same, if not more, for anyone he cares about.

Premise
There was an idea [...] to bring together a group of remarkable people to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could
The Avengers are Earth's Mightiest Heroes, a group of incredible individuals with unique powers and gifts that allow them to fight the battles ordinary humans cannot. They protect the Earth from threats both internal and external, acting as our first and often final line of defense. But Avengers are not forever - they grow old, they die, they fall in love, they retire, they disappear. To secure the future of the world, we need to train the next generation of heroes - the new Avengers.
To this end, the Avengers have founded the Margaret Carter Institute, known to the public as Avengers Academy. There, students with special gifts are trained to become the next generation of superheroes, learning how to function together as a team to accomplish what no one person can do alone. But Avengers Academy isn't the only school for super heroics, competing for students with the Jean Grey School, Strange Academy, and Braddock Academy among others. Each year, schools from across the globe send their best and brightest students to participate in the Contest of Champions. The first prize is one million dollars and the top superhero teams tend to recruit from the contest winners. For the last two years, the Young Avengers of Avengers Academy have won the tournament, donating the majority of their winnings to charity.
But this year, things may be different. Excelsior, another Avengers Academy team, have assembled with the goal of winning the tournament. All they need to do is pass the qualifying round and then they'll be entered into the tournament, held at the Future Foundation Arena, where they will fight the best young superhero teams from across the world.
When Excelsior is approached by a young inventor who promises to help train them in the weaknesses of their opponents, is it too good to be true? Can they trust Edward Acra? They're just students - what could possibly go wrong, right?

As this is a school setting, you will have classes that your characters attend. The school works on an alternating day schedule, where half of the week students focus on superheroics (i.e., classes on how to use their powers, strategy, teamwork, alien languages, how to triage survivors, and so forth), and the other half of the week students focus on traditional education (i.e., math, science, literature, theater, and so forth).
There are no general education requirements at the Margaret Carter Institute beginning at the high school level. The high school entrance exam assesses students in a variety of subjects, ensuring that the basics are mastered, before students go onto specialty education. The Academy operates on a quarter system, and some classes do have pre-reqs, which can be met by either taking further placement exams or taking classes at the Academy.
In your CS submission, put down your thoughts/ideas for a suggested course load. The GM will then contact you with your official classes shortly before the start of the game, so that way people will have classes in common.
Lastly, by popular demand, we will have uniforms at the academy! The uniforms are basically a rip-off of the Umbrella Academy uniform, only with a stylized Avengers A rather than the umbrella on the crest. The color of the uniform's trim will match what dorm your character has been assigned to (each dorm will have a faculty member in charge, who acts as your guardian while at school). Students are required to wear their uniforms Monday through Thursday, with Fridays being free dress days.

Change the color code to a unique one (i.e. not in use by a current character). Please try to avoid colors that are very similar to the eye as well.
Choose a faceclaim for your character that is not currently in use - if you're not sure if someone is using that FC, ask the GM.
The GM can refuse a concept for any reason, yet will generally work with you to fix up the character until they can be accepted.
Talk to the GM if you want your character to have established connections (i.e. if this were a Percy Jackson RP and you wanted to be Percy's goddaughter, talk to the GM in advance for approval).

No use of racial slurs in posts. Sure, you may be playing a racist white guy from the 1950s, so just use asterisks - you'll convey the same idea.
Nudity needs to be run by the GM before posting. In general, this is PG-13 when it comes to romance, sexual interactions, exposure, and so forth... Violence wise, anything goes. This can get gross.
Fade to black for things that verge into the area of smut/other taboo subjects. Seriously. Your post will be deleted otherwise.
The world and NPCs and events are controlled by the GM. If the GM says it's raining, then it's raining. Results will be randomized per dice mechanics.

The GM reserves the right to make decisions as to how much additional time, if any, will be granted to post if the forum is glitching. A week to post is plenty of time even if the forum glitches a day or two. But usually, I do tend to be pretty generous about it...

They are very positive, upbeat, and lively - which often translates to them going on and on without any end in sight, which can tend to grow old quickly for certain people. She's very passionate about the things she cares in and hyper fixates on them, learning all of the information there is to know - for example, she's very interested in the environmental, particularly the ocean, and has often talked at her mother for hours at a time about it. This drive has caused them to pretty much go through school effortlessly, as they're the sort of person who reads textbooks and Wikipedia pages in their spare time (at the beach though, of course).
But at the same time, they are incredibly competitive, always needing to come out on top and have the last word. They are very judgmental of other people, often making snap decisions about them and going to any lengths she has to in order to persuade other people to hold the same viewpoint that she does. It isn't enough for her to be right, she needs other people to recognize her as right. How did you discover your powers: April was about eleven years old when her X-gene activated and she gained her mutant powers. Their school had done a science field trip to the zoo. April had been admiring the hippos when the class bully had come on over and shoved April backwards. The bully's goons were jeering and laughing at them, and April saw red. The next thing she knew, the bullies had been doused with the water from the hippo tank and flung about twenty feet backwards. Needless to say, the school called her parents to come and get them.
General History: April was born to Agent Bonnie Chase and Agent Freddie Flynn in spring 2022 at a SHIELD medical facility. Her mother had retired from active duty, transitioning into a lab based role at SHIELD. Their father was an active duty Operations agent, as well as a long lost son of the mutant terrorist, Magneto. By the time April was about five years old, her mother had been promoted to Director of Medical Sciences at SHIELD, so the family moved to Washington D.C. Their childhood growing up in the DC area was fairly normal, with occasional trips to Canada to visit her grandparents.
April really liked being an only child - or at least, from what she remembers they did. When she was very little, her mother gave birth to her younger sister and only sibling, Zelda. April didn't like Zelda at first, finding her loud and stinky - but once Zelda wasn't a baby anymore, April actually liked having someone around her own age to play with. Unfortunately, the sisters never became particularly close, as they had the opposite personality types and interests. April was very extroverted, whereas Zelda was very introverted.
Given that her parents were both working for SHIELD, April always wanted to save the world. She wasn't interested in wearing a costume though and fighting villains - they more wanted to save the Great Barrier Reef and stop corporations from polluting the waters. Her favorite comic book character naturally was Poison Ivy. She finished middle school and her mother recommended her for the Margaret Carter Academy, and April started taking as many courses in environmental science as she could. She really loves their school and dreams of saving the ocean and the planet.
And of course, April has a burning ambition to unseat the Young Avengers in the Contest of Champions before they graduate - and be elected Prom Queen and Class President and make Valedictorian too.
Proposed Arcs:
April is very ambitious when it comes to things she wants to achieve, but they don't have a real sense of herself quite yet. They haven't really figured out who April is yet. What makes her happy? Does she actually want all the things she thinks she does? I'd love for her to explore their own identity - she isn't quite out yet as a lesbian, only having just started to really comes to term with that. They also have yet to really explore their gender identity, and I would like her to get to a place - preferably within the first arc or so - where she realizes she's a demigirl. I especially think it would be neat to see how they handle the intersections of her identities - what does it mean to be a mutant and queer?
Less serious, but I would love for her to get turned into a mermaid somehow. It would be very funny.

April is more familiar with Percy's older sister, Diana. Their parents were SHIELD agents on a team together once, so growing up there would be occasional meetings, but nothing super memorable.

April and Mads were randomly assigned to be roommates last year, and they really got along super well. The two of them have become besties and decided to live together again. April LOVES hanging out with Dorian (and Danny) - she sees the two of them as more or less being a package deal. Beyond having gossip sessions and painting each other's nails, they like to go exploring on the weekends and have board game nights (featuring FroYo, of course).
April's dad mentioned to her once, when realizing she was besties with Dorian Gray, that Dorian's dad was a walking disaster.

April has her bestie Mads, but she's also besties with Danny and Dorian, the chaotic queer (not) twins. She's shared her vulnerable secrets with Danny during many a cuddle pile session, and just loves going out and seeing the world with him. He and Dorian are the closest thing she has to brothers.

April has a huge crush on Sabine - she adores the ~Ice Queen~ persona in general, as well as finding Sabine incredibly witty and funny. She is obsessed with Sabine's fits also and follows her on social media (Filterella, particularly).
April vividly remembers one day when Sabine's pencil slid off of her desk and April retrieved it for her.

April is also deeply into Chi Mai's sense of humor - it always takes her by surprise, since she looks so sweet and innocent, but the mouth on her always has April DYING.

Andy is the adopted child of April's biological grandfather. April's dad doesn't really talk to his birth family at all, so any sort of familial connection is rather tenuous.

Mary Sue's parents were part of the same SHIELD team as April's parents, so they'd meet every so often at reunions. However, given that Mary Sue grew up in Britain, it wasn't like April regularly saw her.

April's mother, Bonnie, works for S.H.I.E.L.D. as the medical science director. Dr. Chase has also been hosting the goddess Athena since 2021.
April feels a lot of pressure to live up to her parents' expectations - particularly her mother's. She works extremely hard because she wants to make her parents proud. April thinks of her mom as being a #girlboss (with all of its connotations, good and bad) - and is quite close with her. A lot of people often tell her that she looks like the spitting image of her mother, which April doesn't quite see - she thinks she looks more like her dad.

April's father, Flynn, currently works at SHIELD in a supervisory type of role - he determines what sort of response needs to be sent out to different incidents and monitors/assembles the teams. In his youth, he worked for OMEN - a bigoted organization that wanted to eliminate all paranormal threats... including mutants. Although not publicly known, Flynn was adopted - his birth father was the mutant terrorist, Magneto...
April loves her father and sees the good in him, even with his checkered past. However, she doesn't like what he does for a living. Having come more into her own politics, April doesn't really like organizations like SHIELD, seeing them as instruments of state power. She wishes her dad would quit and join the Avengers, but at the same time, she doesn't want him out in the field - she's scared to lose him.

The Avengers are Earth's Mightiest Heroes, a group of incredible individuals with unique powers and gifts that allow them to fight the battles ordinary humans cannot. They protect the Earth from threats both internal and external, acting as our first and often final line of defense. But Avengers are not forever - they grow old, they die, they fall in love, they retire, they disappear. To secure the future of the world, we need to train the next generation of heroes - the new Avengers.
To this end, the Avengers have founded the Margaret Carter Institute, known to the public as Avengers Academy. There, students with special gifts are trained to become the next generation of superheroes, learning how to function together as a team to accomplish what no one person can do alone. But Avengers Academy isn't the only school for super heroics, competing for students with the Jean Grey School, Strange Academy, and Braddock Academy among others. Each year, schools from across the globe send their best and brightest students to participate in the Contest of Champions. The first prize is one million dollars and the top superhero teams tend to recruit from the contest winners. For the last two years, the Young Avengers of Avengers Academy have won the tournament, donating the majority of their winnings to charity.
But this year, things may be different. Excelsior, another Avengers Academy team, have assembled with the goal of winning the tournament. All they need to do is pass the qualifying round and then they'll be entered into the tournament, held at the Future Foundation Arena, where they will fight the best young superhero teams from across the world.
When Excelsior is approached by a young inventor who promises to help train them in the weaknesses of their opponents, is it too good to be true? Can they trust Edward Acra? They're just students - what could possibly go wrong, right?

As this is a school setting, you will have classes that your characters attend. The school works on an alternating day schedule, where half of the week students focus on superheroics (i.e., classes on how to use their powers, strategy, teamwork, alien languages, how to triage survivors, and so forth), and the other half of the week students focus on traditional education (i.e., math, science, literature, theater, and so forth).
There are no general education requirements at the Margaret Carter Institute beginning at the high school level. The high school entrance exam assesses students in a variety of subjects, ensuring that the basics are mastered, before students go onto specialty education. The Academy operates on a quarter system, and some classes do have pre-reqs, which can be met by either taking further placement exams or taking classes at the Academy.
In your CS submission, put down your thoughts/ideas for a suggested course load. The GM will then contact you with your official classes shortly before the start of the game, so that way people will have classes in common.
Lastly, by popular demand, we will have uniforms at the academy! The uniforms are basically a rip-off of the Umbrella Academy uniform, only with a stylized Avengers A rather than the umbrella on the crest. The color of the uniform's trim will match what dorm your character has been assigned to (each dorm will have a faculty member in charge, who acts as your guardian while at school). Students are required to wear their uniforms Monday through Thursday, with Fridays being free dress days.

Applications:
Post the CS in the OOC for review.
Change the color code to a unique one (i.e. not in use by a current character). Please try to avoid colors that are very similar to the eye as well.
Choose a faceclaim for your character that is not currently in use - if you're not sure if someone is using that FC, ask the GM.
The GM can refuse a concept for any reason, yet will generally work with you to fix up the character until they can be accepted.
Talk to the GM if you want your character to have established connections (i.e. if this were a Percy Jackson RP and you wanted to be Percy's goddaughter, talk to the GM in advance for approval).
GM approved character sheets should be posted in a hider in the Char tab.
The GM will check posting history / previous RPs - you've been warned.
Once CS's are approved, relation sheet will go up and must be completed and added to CS

No use of racial slurs in posts. Sure, you may be playing a racist white guy from the 1950s, so just use asterisks - you'll convey the same idea.
Nudity needs to be run by the GM before posting. In general, this is PG-13 when it comes to romance, sexual interactions, exposure, and so forth... Violence wise, anything goes. This can get gross.
Fade to black for things that verge into the area of smut/other taboo subjects. Seriously. Your post will be deleted otherwise.
The world and NPCs and events are controlled by the GM. If the GM says it's raining, then it's raining. Results will be randomized per dice mechanics.
Posting & General Behavior
Follow all of the rules of the forum - they're the law of the land.
If you need an extension or you're struggling - or even if you just aren't certain what to do - please reach out to the GM! Communication is key.
All posts are backed up on the back up forum after they have been posted - the GM will provide the link for this forum. It only takes a few seconds and it ensures all your hard work is preserved!
You must post once every 7 days - once your last post on RPG reads as 8 days ago you will be removed from the RP.
If you need an extension, ask!! If an emergency comes up on day 7, of course come and talk to us - we'll be more than happy to work something out. It's very rare that an extension request is denied.

The GM reserves the right to make decisions as to how much additional time, if any, will be granted to post if the forum is glitching. A week to post is plenty of time even if the forum glitches a day or two. But usually, I do tend to be pretty generous about it...

Nancy wasn't concerned about Joanie playing too rough with the DemiCat, but if Demetri did anything to hurt Joanie, she'd skin him alive - no matter what form he was shifted into. Nancy didn't pay much attention to the strange looks they were being given either, figuring that the Mist would take care of things. What she did listen to was her brother's words, as he explained what had happened. As much as the Romans tended to look down on the Greeks, Camp Jupiter had been no stranger to drama either.
"Mm, the reason that this group cannot communicate is that you're fractured and undisciplined - and I don't mean you specifically," Nancy told Zeke. "Having both of those things be true is the nightmare scenario. Having only one be true, you can work with that." But she knew that wasn't really what Zeke wanted to talk about - it was more the second thing, his feelings of regret, shame, and anger - an Apollo classic.
Demetri already gave the standard, mushy advice. Maybe Nancy would've told Zeke something more warm and feely, had Demetri not been present. Instead, she said: "Have you ever heard the idea that there are no good people or bad people, and that each moment, you have to choose to do good or do bad? I think that's true for lots of things. You haven't turned yourself into anything. You did things. And you can pick to do other things," Nancy paused. "You and I, we can be reborn each day - just like the sun."

Leda smiled at Hercules - she was glad that he was happy. Kristin, Zeke, and her had accidentally disrupted his life pretty majorly on their quest. She didn't consider herself a huge fan of monsters, but not all cyclopses were bad (some of them were in the X-Men comics, after all). "Ya make anything cool? Like a tricked out trident or something? Or a brand new Alexa?" Leda asked him. She shrugged, smiling slightly coyly as Hercules returned the question to her. "Oh, I've been gran'. Got a new girl, as you can see. Been eating out plenty," she finished with a wink, "camp food never quite does it for me."
Her attention though was rapidly pulled over towards Sera, as Sera innocently and sweetly asked if there was a siren near them. She didn't know how she hadn't seen it sooner, but there it was - an absolutely gorgeous woman, singing an intoxicating song at the bottom of the sea. Leda hooked her feet into the sides of the hippocampus in order to hold on, and she plugged her ears with her fingers. "Plug your ears, or you'll be her lunch!" she warned the others.

[hider=The Skyrose Multiverse]The Skyrose Multiverse began with the apocalypse RP, Abandoned Hope. This RP, which I GMed with [@BlueSky44], incorporated a lot of lore from various shows and books that we liked. At first, we thought that was the biggest connection it would have. It has now expanded into a fully blown universe, with multiple GM's running connected RP, and an established continuity throughout the timeline.
