TRANSCRIPT OF THE CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS 2023 DRAFT

FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY

NOT TO BE RELEASED TO STUDENTS

NOTE: Official rules indicate teams should consist of 5 members. There may be 2 additional members to serve as alternates/subs.

FIRST ROUND PICK

V: As the reigning champions, I propose that we keep the team designated 'the Young Avengers' in tact under my guidance. Their membership includes Hawkeye II, Stature, Wiccan, Speed, Hulkling, Patriot, and Miss America. Are there any objections?
SN: No.
LN: No.
U: You're taking ALL THE GOOD ones! Ugh, fine. Whatever. Half of them are graduating anyways, keep your shitty washed up team.
V: ....
V: Thank you. Based on previous patterns, I assume you would like to select your own teams first, prior to filling out the remaining nine groups.
SN: I choose Poltergeist as my first pick.
U: Fine. I'm taking Artemis. Love a bitch who can fuck things up.
V: ....
LN: I will take Marvel Girl.

SECOND ROUND PICK

SN: I will take Hot-Shot.
U: Pfft, loser. Can't believe you picked the walking fire tornado. Anyways, I'm going to make a high IQ move and I'm taking Valkyrie. You all can suck it.
V: ... Really, Usagi?
U: Eat me.
LN: Oh, I suppose I will take then... Trivia.

THIRD ROUND PICK

SN: Hmm. Begrudgingly, I will take Odysseus.
U: You're really bad at this. Did you have a stroke? Aaaanyways. I'm gonna take Jotunn. Damn, my team is SO GOOD.
SN: Perhaps I did.
LN: I will select Luna Minor.
U: She's going to kill you in your sleep. Just an FYI.

FOURTH ROUND PICK

SN: I will take Amnesia.
U: snorts
U: Imma grab Shieldmaiden, no idea how she hasn't been snapped up yet.
LN: I will take Cascade.

FIFTH ROUND PICK

SN: Mmm. I will take Calamity.
U: Oh! I'll grab up Arcade. Easy choice. My techies are gonna be BESTIES.
LN: And I will conclude with the selection of Kindle.
U: Yikes.

van Dyne, Victoria - Junior
  • Ranking:
    • A - SN
    • A - U
  • Likelihood of villainy:
    • 1 - SN
    • 1 - U
  • Comments:
    • People tend to think that the Avengers are cops, whereas other people argue firefighters. Miss van Dyne is making a case here for the latter. She is a natural born leader. -SN
    • Disappointed she didn't really fuck things up while in there - would've been excited to see what sort of damage that suit can do. But hey, still was super cool! Didn't know the van Dynes were making suits that weren't meant for shrinking. Thought that was Stark's deal? -U

Terrane, Ardere - Freshman
  • Ranking:
    • B - SN
    • B - LN
  • Likelihood of villainy:
    • 3 - SN
    • 7 - LN
  • Comments:
    • She pushes herself too hard. While I admire her ambition, it is important to also know when to stop. - SN
    • I sense a great deal of confusion in her - and a desperation to prove herself. If not guided properly, she may become a force of great evil. -LN

Sullivan, Mary Sue- Freshman
  • Ranking:
    • C - SN
    • B - LN
  • Likelihood of villainy:
    • 1 - SN
    • 10 - LN
  • Comments:
    • A young protagonist at the start of her hero's journey, just barely scratching the surface of her power. We should consider private sessions, to help her probe the nature of her abilities. - SN
    • The granddaughter of Thanos heralds death. I should like to work with her, less the darkness consume her. -LN

Guin Stark

Location: Blackbird
Skills: Telepathy
~Fit Check~

Guin winced internally as Lance brought up their reason trip into space - admittedly, they didn't have a good track record when it came to finding people in space. The Hulk was still missing. The Avengers hadn't been able to locate him, and neither had they. All they could do at this point was hope that Banner would find his way home one day. Hopefully before long. Lance had finally gotten to a good place with his father, right before Banner disappeared. She thought for a moment about gently peering into Lance's mind, to see how upset he was, but decided against it. She could chat with him later.

"Right, here goes nothing then," Guin said, closing her eyes and placing her hands on either side of her head. It was a stupid cliché that most telepaths did, but Guin found that it did help her to ground herself somewhat. She did at least have some practice when it came to using telepathy as GPS - it was how they had made their way to OMEN's black site way back in the day. The thoughts of everyone else on the Blackbird were noisy and Guin did her best to shove them down, to bury them while boosting the very faint aura of Mary's psychic signature.

"Okay, I've got them - faint but we're still ways off," Guin explained. She then started to relay to Lance which way to go from here. She ignored the other conversations going on in the jet, mostly because it was hard enough for her to keep a hold on Mary's signal as it was. She didn't need to try multitasking on top of telepathically navigating.

Neil Spellman

Location: the Asteroid
Skills: N/A
~Fit Check~

Neil felt a lull in the conversation build on, as Bethany went ahead to scout. He couldn't help but admire the way she could meld into the shadows, becoming something more than human. An aching sensation tugged at the back of his mind, as if he was on the verge of some sort of realization or transformation, before it slipped away. They really had come far as a group. He was not the same person anymore. This was his body, but at the same time, it wasn't. The bones were his - but the skin? the hair? the eyes? They felt like clothes, something that could be put on and removed. Even his name at times felt clunky in his mouth. He didn't always feel like Neil Spellman.

These days, he was starting to feel like he was someone else.

"Did anything interesting happen in space while we were gone?" he asked Annie softly. As much as silence was probably for the best here, he couldn't help it. Silence just meant more space for his thoughts. There was something nagging away at him, something that he wanted to set aside. He had been pouring into D&D lately to do just that, but he couldn't do that now. He didn't have his manuals and notes on him.

Megan Pendragon

Location: Rapunzel's Tower
Skills: Medical Science

Megan examined Lancelot's wound with a critical eye, yet she did not need her medical degree to tell her that the wound was infected. If the infection was not cleared, it could spread to the blood. The resulting blood poisoning would prove to be fatal and Lancelot would die. Her thoughts strayed to the state of medicine in the world she had grown up from - just a few centuries ago and there would've been nothing they could do for him. Stomach wounds were dangerous that way. Had the wound been on a limb, they could amputate it. In this case though, the wound had to heal - more importantly, the infection had to clear.

"Do you preferentially amputate here, in lieu of clearing infection?" Megan asked Rapunzel. While she had been here until she was about ten years old or so, she hadn't learned the medicinal practices of this world. She took up the jar of ointment Rapunzel had indicated, noting that it seemed to be prescribed of various herbs - some of which she recognized as having been used on Earth, others that were foreign to her. From what she recalled of the herbs she knew, she was fairly confident this would clear the infection.

Not that Lancelot really had any other options. They couldn't amputate here. A beheading would be more practical. Megan set herself to work, cleaning the area and reapplying the ointment. She gave Lancelot a generous amount. She wished she had some sort of antibiotic to give him. The ointment she thought should work, but it still made her feel uncertain.
@KazAlkemi

-missing a dislike
-Is there more to her history section that’s missing? It seems like it ends on a cliffhanger lol. Unless that’s her waking up in Limbo for the start of the RP, in which case it is fine.
@Nallore Mads is good to go, move her over
@Nallore You don't need to list clothing as one of the possessions for Carolina - otherwise she looks great!
@PatientBean hot. accepted. <3
@Kirah woah I love SELENE too! accepted bae
@Trainerblue192
