The last four months had been very entertaining for Yuka. She had spent much of it high or drunk but much more poking at her new friends. She liked to keep things interesting when things got quiet amongst her boys. Sometimes she'd make the conversation sexual for no reason, then other times, she'd ask about their childhood trauma or bring up touchy subjects. If she wasn't cuddling somebody, she was making extremely dark jokes. She had a certain way of keeping constant chaos in her vicinity.

Despite the emotional distance she kept between herself and others, Xavier's stubborn kindness did grow on her. She thoroughly enjoyed his company very often. Yuka even enjoyed normal conversation with him and stopped trying to mess with him as much as she did the others. Orias, on the other hand, had remained ever so serious. He was very useful in training Xavier so Yuka let him stick around. While his schedule had been orderly, she had pretty much continued to do whatever she wanted when she wanted. Much to their surprise, perhaps, Yuka did spend time daily working on her combat skills, which were fairly impressive for how she seemed to spend her time. She had spent many years honing her instinct and ability to kill. And boy, did it show when she was in combat. Yuka had never told them nor anyone but there was a delicious pleasure she sought more than any other.

As the afternoon sun lit up the River Kingdom, Yuka emerged from the Treeant Inn and sauntered silently behind Orias, before she suddenly clutched his shoulders, her claws unsheathed. "YO!"She greeted loudly and giggled. She let go and skipped around into his vision. "Are you ready to hunt!" Her pupils were dilated and her smile was wide. "Hunting gets me so excited!"

As Nym spun tales, so had Helio just a little way down the bar. His voice could be heard over the loud bolstering of the Nest as he rattled on his own tale to a demihuman woman, slurring the whole way through. "So thereeee I was, blade in hand, while the hologram of so-called King of the Sea Ardyn was craaaawling about the deck of his stinky ship-"He paused to go off on a brief tangent, "You can tell from the stench that his crew hadn't bathed in months. Stinky, ugly and very jealous of me the lot of them were." He then waved off his own tangent as he leaned, well aware of others tuning in to his story, " Ardyn was not on the ship; he was terrified of me. He wouldn't dare set foot close to me, yet there he was in hologram form, writhing in terror. His eyes brimmed with tears as he pleaded for his life. "

Helio stood up on the stool, eliciting a gasp. "So I told him, Ardyn! I'll find yar cowardly ass and I'll kick it!" He kicked the air and nearly fell off the stool. However, a crocodile demihuman steadied him as he grabbed his calves in his hands.

"That's one wasted fairy."He commented slowly.

"Ardyn then said you're so intimidating and awesome, Helio. Not to mention so handsome. Please don't find me! I'm s-s-scared!" Those in his vicinity were staring up at him with raised brows.

"Come on man, get down!

"YOU GET DOWN!"

"What?"

Floofa covered her mouth to restrain her laughter, her fluffy tail waving back and forth with her excitement. She had really done it this time. Prince Helio had been here many times before and knew well what her drinks could do, yet had purposely drunk them. He had even requested her to drug him. She didn't care enough to question it; she was simply happy to receive entertainment.

It felt as if the night itself was trying to wrap around Charlotte and smothered her as she ran. The sound of her flats clacking against the cobblestone as the raindrops started to fall. Her heart pounded against her ribs as fear pushed her forward faster and faster. Thunder clapped in the background and a flash of lightning illuminated the reflection of her pursuer in a nearby puddle.“If you won’t kill yourself then I’ll do it for you!” The voice called from behind as footsteps gained on the terrified girl, “I am going to drive this ax into your skull and that pathetic excuse of a man you call a father!”

”Shut up! …Go away!”Charlotte cried over her shoulder. She sprinted faster, determined to survive. She rounded a corner only to run straight into a dead end. She inhaled but kept moving all the same. Charlotte threw herself forward without much more hesitation and attempted to climb up on a barrel with the intention to scale the wall. Tears threatened but she stayed focused as she adjusted her feet on top of the wobbly barrel and reached up to grab at a pipe. Alas, her arm was not long enough. Panic caused a whimper to escape her lips and she dared to try to jump to grab it. Her pursuer grabbed Charlotte by the leg in a tight grip, then dragged her down to the ground onto her back. The wind was knocked out of her as she hit the ground, then she laid there dazed. She laid a hand over her forehead as her vision refocused on the sight of the man standing above her.

It was Count Calbert with a huge axe. His dark hair was flying about in the wind of the storm, lightning flashing behind his head with loud cracks. His blue eyes s seemed to glow in the night as they looked down at her with malicious triumph. With a wicked grin, he stepped on her stomach, raising the axe before he brought it down with a swift swing.

“Charlotte!”

Charlotte rose up with a scream, clutching her head. “Ahhhhh!” She stared forward with wide eyes, patting her neck. Her head… was still attached to her neck. With a confused blink, her hands fell from her neck as her bedroom seemed to paint itself into reality around her. Then her gaze fell on Lorenzo. There was a pause, then she jumped up on her bed and eagerly hopped off it with a huge smile. She ran over and threw her arms around him in a hug. It was certainly a firmer one than usual. After she let go finally, she looked at him, babbling, ”Lorenzo!”She began with an exclaim, ”Where have you been? I looked everywhere for you! In the house, outside of the house, at the tavern, the library-Oh disparage it all- I am just so glad you’re safe!”

She couldn’t believe that after all that he had just waltzed in. If she had just been in a nightmare, was this another dream? Charlotte bit the inside of her lip. No, no this is real. He really just reappeared. He must have a good reason for this. He has to! He’d never just abandon me. Lorenzo’s clothes did look a little dirty. And he was still in his ball outfit! Where had he gone?

Charlotte caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror behind him. She had no room to talk. Her eyes had dark circles underneath and the whites of her eyes looked nearly bloodshot. In that moment, she also noticed the back of Lorenzo's coat. What? She slowly returned her gaze to his, her brows furrowing in a perplexed manner as she plucked a flower petal off his shoulder.

Vincent's Self Defense Training

@Timemaster

"Ay you! Look at that!"

Vincent had moved straight up to the girl swinging her sword around and grabbed her wrist. "Drop! No need for this! Today we are using our fists, lass! Let me see you put 'em up!" He moved from her and stomped to the front of the area. The training area was a small fenced clearing with dummies scattered about as well as weapons available in a nearby building. "Most importantly before we begin, I want everyone to understand that if things can be deescalated, that is the first option we want. This will mean less risky to your meat bags. Next, I want you all to try to keep your distance from your attacker and to be very aware of your surroundings. You never know what can come in handy. Not always a sword! HAHA! Sometimes it is a knife, sometimes it is a lemon. Ya. Neva. Know.." He shrugged.

Vincent subsequently waltzed up to Ashe. "Let's say this isn't possible! I am an attacker! Hoho! Be afraid." He put his arms up threateningly, "So. YOU! What will you do if I were to grab your arm? Do you know how to break free?" He leaned in, whispering, "Can I grab your arm?"

It had been easy upon leaving the restaurant to locate a human. Not long after lurking about, he had spotted a man with flames flashing in his hands as he, Astra, and Myra hid behind a wall. There were four individuals having an interaction that was quite notable to say the least. He had told Myra quietly that she should try to remember the scent if she could catch a whiff of it. Nonetheless, they had followed the four back to an Inn, where Maeryn had climbed up on a nearby roof to listen in on conversations. From what he could gather, there were multiple humans as well as Princess Annya herself inside. However, she was calling for additional light elves. Nobody was close enough for him to get a shot in at the moment and it had been deduced that there were multiple others inside already. He was able to at least gain the location of other humans. They were apparently with her sister Rosaria. He had not been able to hear the whole conversation but had heard mention of Myriamor.

Nonetheless, the group had remained following this one for a brief time unnoticed, yet it went exactly as he thought. There were much too many light elves to get a good shot in without risking himself or his party. Vrexen had been eager to just go in for it anyway and they had just barely kept him back. Once the ship had sailed away, he turned to the others and advised they locate the other humans instead. He was certain that group would remain over-guarded and difficult for simply four of them to defeat.

So from there, they had journeyed to Myriamor, where the group had been trying to gather information for the last few months on where Rosaria and her humans could be without much luck, that was until 2pm on an October afternoon. Maeryn had pressed himself against a wall as he listened to exchange in the Myriamor Inn. His eyes had widened had what he heard and he had set off to find Vrexen and Myra.

The four months had been a monumental change for Sophie. She had done more training than she had ever before. Though the magical training had been exciting to Sophie, the physical training had kicked her ass to say the least. Sophie could not remember working out ever in her life and she had regretted it as much as Ling from Mulan. It had been stressful, but she had been careful not to cry in front of others. She had simply listened to orders given the best she could and tried to focus on the others, cheering them up and making them presents when she could. She had liked to give presents out to the others, but Caelan, Rosaria, Nuallán, and Aurora had gotten them most, as they had become dear friends to her.

Aurora was an absolute angel. She was always so kind and tranquil; Sophie loved to make her smile and always tried to help her out when she could. There were many times that Sophie had bought her food or flowers. Nuallán and Rosaria had been extremely sweet, even when they had been training them. She had drawn portraits of them and presented her drawings to them just the other week in gratitude for their patience with her. She had gotten rather close with the three light elves, but even closer with Caelan, who had become the best friend she had always dreamed of. He always had her back and seemed to see through her when others did not. On top of that, he was always so much fun that it had been contagious. After years of sticking to herself, she had been able to start to voice her thoughts and feel comfortable coming out of her shell. Not only had Sophie started to change in personality, but her hair dye had long faded into a silvery white. However, instead of dying it again, she had left it that way.

Sophie had also become very fond of Alette, her little pixie, despite her mischievous behavior. As the afternoon sun beat down on the desert, she and Alette were just a little down the dirt road from the guest house. She had declined Slick's offer to hunt as she already had important plans today. They had done so much training and she was yearning to just to do less active things for a day.

"Sophie. His nose is much chunkier than that."

Sophie shhed the pixie fluttering by her shoulder. She had a makeshift easel where she was drawing on a large whiteboard. The umbrella Aurora had gotten her was perched on the easel, keeping the sun out of her face as she drew. She had been so thankful to receive the wonderful gift.

Currently, two orc children sat before them. Their names were Brubsnaga and Eichelberbog. Though Alette always called them all kinds of things due to her inability to remember such complicated names. Sophie had no idea how old they were, but they had taken a liking to her one day when she had been playing music out loud. She supposed their parents were often out raiding and they were left home bored, so sometimes she'd entertain them. However, then the other day, the children's father noticed her drawing and politely demanded with a huge war-ax in hand that she should draw his children.

"No it's not... Or..." Sophie tilted her head and scrutinized the drawing. She looked over the side of the board, "Hey Brubsnaga, tilt your head up a little for me, honey." The little orc boy looked up, showing his pointy teeth as he smiled.

"Are yer draw'n me gud? Brubsnaga iz gud lookin." The child asked. Even for a tiny one, his voice still seemed to boom.

"No." "Yes."

"Noth'n gud about Brubsnaga."Eichelberbog chimed in as if it was just a sad truth, shaking his head.

Sophie shot Alette a glare, but continued to assure the orc, "I think Brubasnaga looks really-" Before the sentence could fully leave her lips, the orcs were suddenly gone. She moved around the side of her easel with a distressed look on her face. She searched around the area with her eyes rapidly until she caught sight of them. Sophie frowned as she watched them struggling to run up a sand hill after a desert fox. "Nooo! Come back! I'm not done!"

Alette fluttered in front of her face, "Let them go! They smell!" She looked over her shoulder, her red hair moving as she adjusted her body."They can't even get up the hill." The orc children were indeed a little big and kept sinking into the sand.

"I've been working on this for two hours. Their dad is coming back tonight, Alette!"Sophie replied with an exasperated sigh. Her eyes lit up and she pulled out her phone. "I think this will bring them back."

"Oh yes!"Alette did a little spin. Her mood had turned around. "Sophie! Put it on ! Hurry! I can do the dance you taught me!"

Sophie bit her lip with a grin as she searched through her phone. She found the song she wanted and then selected it.

Rasputin by Boney M

Eichelberbog paused in his tracks and jumped in the air. In one quick twist, he was facing Sophie and Alette again. He grumbled something to his brother before charging back toward them. Brubsnaga's reaction was a little more delayed but he too came running. Sophie had found it hilarious how much orc children loved music. She clapped along to the song and the orcs began nodding their head along, clapping too.

Alette got to work there and then flew into view. She then began to dance, having memorized thanks to Sophie and Caelan's teachings. "There lived a certain man in Baussia long ago. He was big and strong. " Alette paused to flex each of her tiny arms then pointed to her eyes as the orcs looked up at her, "In his eyes a flaming glow! Most people looked at him with terror and with fear..." She waved her hands about as if she was a scary creature. Eichelberbog and Brubasnaga were attempting to follow Alette's dancing, letting out joyous deep laughs.

Sophie giggled to herself as she took the opportunity to finish up her drawing.

What even is my life now?

Annya had spent the last four months feeling like a mother, but little did she know how much she would enjoy it. She and Utada, the head chef at Utada's Hot Food, had hit off like old sisters and she had been able to buy a few cooking lessons from young fox chef. Though the first few weeks had been a bit disastrous as she tried to make meals for the group, she did get the hang of it. It had become her way of making up for draining them up of mana with magical training. However, she became a little controlling as she always did. And bossy. She made a food diary for her human boys and would lose her temper a bit when anyone ate too much unhealthy food. Her temper was a wild horse she manage to keep in check for the most part usually; she had only lost her patience while training six times! She was quite proud of herself for that accomplishment.

Kharne and her had bonded closer and she was quite fond of her dragonborn comrade. She had taught him the basics of magical control so he'd understand better why she had been so gungho about calming everyone down before training them. They were rather direct with each other with everything in order to best keep everyone safe, which was their priority. Meanwhile, Bron had also shared his skills with physical training and she had grown to enjoy the dwarf's company as well. While Kharne and Bron's expertise had been in the physical, Eris, Bowyn, and Rue had been a great aid in the magical. Annya tended to stick her nose in everything, so she had managed to fit in time for most of the group. Even Kaleb she had managed to improve her bond with. Annya liked to squeeze in one on one chats with each and every person to check in on how they were doing and to learn more about them. Bardulf had benefited most from this as she was able to get the introverted man to speak up a little bit over time.

Speak of the devil, Annya was now bounding toward Bardulf, her brunette hair in a ponytail and her blue coat dancing behind her, "Bardulf! I got your letter!" She stopped to stand before him with an excited smile and green eyes full of enthusiasm. She stretched out her basket of wrapped snacks, "I brought ideas and I brought balls!" Annya pointed at her rice balls, "Utada taught me how to make these. Genius portable snacks! I put different wonderful meats in them...They even taste okay a little cold. Promise!"

The feeling of cold water on her face was not ideal to wake up to. The girl with pale blonde hair did not have enough energy to do more than flutter her eyes open to the sight of her mother, barely noticing the maid with the cloth by the bedside. There was a look more frigid than even the water as Alibeth stared down at her. Alibeth's hair was in a tight bun and her face was adorned in makeup. The queen wore a regal dress as if she were expecting company. Anastasia simply stared back at the brunette queen as she tried to register the events of the night before. Her head was pounding with an awful headache and she felt fatigued.

Alcohol...Dancing... Pain...Then Wystan's face in her hand. Very few blurry images that could not be strung into a story were all she had. She must have overdone the drinking again. Oh well.

"Nice of you to join us, Anastasia." Alibeth greeted her finally, though her tone was without amiability. Anastasia met her eyes silently. They had been caught to some extent, but how many of them had been? She wasn't sure what to say as Alibeth took a seat on her bed, her gaze studying her.

"Where's...Callum?"Anastasia finally asked. Her brows furrowed and she began to weakly sit up on her palms, "Is he okay?" Alibeth gestured to a nearby bed. His dark hair could be seen over the rim of the blanket as he slept.

The queen narrowed her eyes as she lowly sneered, "I hope so for your sake."

Anastasia's expression saddened, her gaze not returning to her mother's. Was Callum hurt? Why is he here... Why are we... Her gaze took in the white room of the medical chamber, taking in her surroundings until she noticed King Edin himself asleep on a couch. For once, Anastasia was very shocked. It was very uncharacteristic for him to ever want to sleep anywhere but his own bed. Alibeth leaned in by her shoulder, following her gaze. "He's been here all night."

"Why... Aren't we just hung over? We would have been fine in our rooms."

"Hung over? Anastasia, you coughed up blood."Alibeth was now emphasizing incredulously, "We thought you were poisoned. We could barely keep you two awake!" When her daughter neglected to answer, she continued, "You endangered your own little brother, your friends, our guests, and even our country. You realize that, don't you? "

"Everyone else was like us too?"The princess asked, her eyes beginning to brim with tears.

"Anastasia, we had to bring the Sultan's son back sobbing as if he was a toddler once again. He could not walk and was in a state similar to Callum's... Then the two daughters were suffering minor effects but effects all the same..."Alibeth continued to whisper with venomous anger in her ear, "If you thought their reaction to Lorenzo Vikena was bad, how do you think he is going to take something like that? That, someone, DARED to do that to his son? Oh, and here's the cherry on top, we found the Grand Vizier's son there in bad shape too. A man much less merciful than the Sultan if you recall."

Anastasia was at a loss of words. She did not understand why people were in a state like this. Had someone infiltrated the party to hurt them? Marek was such a sweet man and he'd never let anyone get hurt at his party normally. She would have never taken anybody somewhere she thought they'd get hurt. Tears streamed down her face. "I don't understand... I don't even..." She tried to focus but the memories would not form and it only made her headache worse, "I can't remember anything."

"Where did you bring them? Who did you bring them to?"

"He's my friend! He'd never hurt anyone. It's a safe place. Callum and I have gone before. Mother I would never bring Callum or anyone somewhere I didn't think was safe for them." Anastasia defensively explained to her. She slowly swung her legs over the side of the bed to sit at her side.

"Your friend!"Alibeth snapped back at her and whirled her head to glare at her, "Your judgment is as reliable as a teapot made of chocolate. Who. is. he?"

Anastasia stared back wordlessly.

A laugh without humor escaped the queen's lips. She grabbed Anastasia's shoulder. "I should have known you'd choose others over your own family. Who is it going to be? Him or your family? Who do you care about more?" She coldly demanded. When Anastasia did not answer, a look of complete betrayal crossed her face, "If you are insistent on protecting a criminal, you will be treated like one." Alibeth rose to her feet and yanked her up by her arm.

"Ow!"

"Oh hush. That's nothing compared to the stress you are causing me."Alibeth bitterly retorted and dragged her out into the hall. Once down the stairs, she let her go none-too-gently. Anastasia stumbled into the center of the hall.

"Everyone who attended the party will be meeting us here now, Anastasia, along with their parents."Alibeth announced, "And if I do not hear that man's name out of your mouth, there will be HELL to pay, for perhaps all of us." She moved up to her daughter with a look that could kill, "Someone needs to be blamed or we might have a war on our hands."
