Bio

I'm Randomness. I also go by others names when it's unavailable, but those are usually some variation of Randomness or Random in general.

I like anime, video games, and science. I'm currently in school studying to become an radiologic technologist. I'm in the initial stages, so I'm on my way. My favorite anime is Eureka Seven, and my favorite video game is a tie between Kingdom Hearts and Etrian Odyssey.

I have several story ideas, but currently lack motivation to write them out. I have plenty of notes for some of them so when I finally get around I'm prepared. That said, I absolutely enjoy group story telling like you do through role playing. One of my interests involved is world building and the connections between them if any.

One of my characters travels between worlds, dimensions and universes. What these are meant to be are different RPs. There seems to be some taboo around such a character, but I feel that is should be judged on a case by case basis. The idea of a seasoned character who has been on many adventures being able to share stories in passing sounds like a fun idea. I thought it would be an interesting idea that those stories could be from other RPs. He isn't meant to highjack the current RP, or be over powered. I admit, I can see that concern. Really though, he is meant to be an eccentric character with stories and treasures not before seen. The effects of these stories are meant to be entertaining, like fairy tales to the current cast. And what treasures he has or can use I'd restrict to what makes sense in the current world. But like I said before, it should be case by case. A learner, and a story teller. I think it's fun to link concept together through this character so the story could live on in new ways and perhaps give new RPs a different kind of character. Without upending everything of course.

Dolly returned with Blade to the table where their cereal was starting to soak up much of the milk. She didn’t pay much attention to Blade and Red as she wandered around the others in the cafeteria, but nothing there had seemed to have be a cause for concern. Still though, there was a nagging pinch of fear the sat in Dolly’s heart. It was small, but steadily glowing. Mute didn’t seem like a bad guy, but his experience with it left the feeling of impending doom.

Dolly dwelled on thoughts of what sort of monster who could create such a scene of brutality when her stomach growled once again. She returned to the bowl of soggy cereal that sat before her on the pristinely clean table. She reached for her spoon and took a bite. The cereal was bland, but that small bit of food calmed her stomach. She looked over to Blade as he called out to Dougie. Dolly turned in her seat to see that Dougie was still by Mute’s table. Still unable to even deduce what he might be thinking, Dolly expected he probably didn’t want to wait around the bloody writing.

“I’ll get him.” Said Dolly. She hopped from the chair and half sprinted up to Dougie. Barely any time had passed since the last she interacted with him, so it was probably a false hope to expect that Dougie would have any semblance of gaining active awareness. She grabbed a hold of his sleeve and gently tugged him towards to table with their food. “Come. Come. The food is over here.”

Back at the table, Dolly led Dougie to his seat, and pushed one of the bowls of cereal in front of him. The contents of the bowl spilled partially over the side as it came to a sudden stop. Paying it no mind, Dolly grabbed another spoon and put it into the bowl. She scooted her seat closer to Dogie and grabbed a spoonful of soggy cereal.

“Say ahhh.”
Cool. I have a character concept that would use the living aspect of the corpus tissues in the machines he builds.
I’m interested. About the corpus living weapons ore thingy, are they like organic technology? If your familiar with the Wii game Conduit, is it like that?
Looking forward to that. Mason will be in the med bay at still watching our tree friend. Sorry, I mean T’ri.
I’m flattered, and a bit sheepish. I’m not a doctor. I was making a joke. I am in school to be a radiologic technician, so I’ve taken some classes on anatomy and physiology. The extent of my experience in a hospital setting is that one time I shadowed actual techs run the imaging machines.
As a professional medical doctor, I should let you know I’m going to BS a majority of the operation tossing the few medical terms I know for effect.

As an aside, I expect Denise to have something up her sleeve to involve herself. She’s been in the ship long enough to perhaps found some back door access to places she may not be wanted.
Someone should probably salvage the refuges vessel before it Plummets somewhere.

The forest was thick, and luckily, the glow of the trees helped keep most of the hidden crevices illuminated. The structures were in a large state of disrepair. There were ancient ruins back on Earth that were better kempt. But regardless, Izumo was already going underway as the equipment was being set up. He had his tools, brushes and picks. Old school as it was, he was good at his job. Normally calm, he certainly loved his job. Mason didn’t know much about him, but he couldn’t help but think that anything Elm had said after arriving just went in one ear and out the other.

Mason wasn’t much of a head in this expedition. He mainly tagged along with one of Elm’s assistants as they took samples of various mosses that grew within the city itself. He became a pack mule of sorts swapping vials, swatches, and other tools. But he didn’t mind. This close to the camp, he was able to quickly drop everything off, and packed it nicely. He lost track of Jenkins, thankfully, but also D’Artigan. Mason presumed that he went with Jenkins. How D’Artigan could stand him still eluded Mason.

Time spent on the wonderous planet was cut short, unfortunately. The crew had barely managed to do any research before a communication came through with the order to return to the ship. It was short, and concise. Much groaning was to be had as they had to quickly pack up everything, they had laid out what felt like not too long ago.

Getting back to the ship wasn’t that long of a journey. It felt shorter actually since they’ve already walked the distance once before. Aboard the ship, Mason found himself with the others as questions about the outcome with the Holy Vei were directed to captain, and his team of diplomats. The team mostly seemed down, leading Mason to believe that things did not go well. Captain Carabello remained quiet, leaving for the bridge and leading the ship back into orbit.

The ship was preparing to swing around back to the wormhole when the captain rounded them up to explain what happened. He looked like he was having a hard time to come up with the words, when the ship received a communication. Someone was injured. Captain Carabello hastily made the decision to allow the distressed individual aboard the ship.

The injured lay on a med table as Mason looked over him. The figure groaned and wormed as Mason quickly went through his pre medical checks. The figure was humanoid, had black and red skin. The colors were spotted all over his body like some odd mosaic. He had no hair and the few times Mason could see its eyes; they were completely black. The figure's most striking feature was that he had four arms. It made the creatures flailing that much more troublesome. Mason had not seen this kind of alien before, but he was humanoid, and that helped considerably. In the several courses Mason had taken involving alien anatomy, it was learned that most humanoid species had similar bodily function. The size, shape, and location of organs differed between species. Some times certain organs would be missing or preform the same function differently. Regardless, humanoids had enough similarities so that the same medical treatments could be used between them; skin, bones, and blood.

An overhead disc covered in lenses looked over the figure, mapping his body. The table measured the figures weight, and a handheld device Mason pressed against the figure’s skin took note of chemical composition. All in all, this entire procedure took a minute if not two. This was exciting, Mason would admit to himself more exciting then his brief time exploring the planet below.

“Alright, I can do this.” Said Mason, a little enthusiastically, “You’ve been shot. Your skin is remarkably tough, so it looks as though it wasn’t able to penetrate much deeper past your hypodermis. Still, I may need to do a skin graft. Let me just grab this here and…” Mason went about cleaning the wound. It was difficult because contact with the cleaning solution caused a spark of pain, and the figure didn’t want to stay still. He spoke out various sentences and phrases of varying degrees of discontent, but Mason had no clue what he was saying. He didn’t want to bother with the translator, leaving his nurse to figure out how to patch it into the med bay.

Did he not want medical attention? Thought Mason. It would be helpful if he’d sit still. If he doesn’t, I may have to sedate him.

Before Mason could do any actually medical work, who other than Denise had power walked her way into the medical bay. Of course, Mason had forgotten to lock the door, and his nurses wouldn’t think to. Mason quickly put down his tools walked over to the door if the operating room where he sealed it. The medical bay had two operation rooms that were separated from the main facility by large and thick paraglass panes. These panes could be fogged to prevent view and the doors leading into them could be locked from both sides. In this way, either side could ensure the room remained sterile.

“I do not have time to be dealing with you right now, Denise. I have work to do.” Mason walked across the room to a prep area. He washed his hands, and then walked back by the door. Along the wall next to it was a control panel touch screen. After a few presses, the glass fogged. Robotic arms from around the observation disk above the table began to lower just before the fogged glass completely blocked them from view.

“Sandra, could you please entertain Denise once you figure out the translator?” The nurse looked up from the computer screen. She was not pleased.
You can have a massive info dump talking about an attempted search. Heck you might even find something and smuggled it in the ship. It'd be written as the events before they get the call to return to the ship and take off.

Dolly sat at the table Blade was laying down the food at. She gave a small smile to Vam and Dougie as they stood nearby, quickly turning her attention again to the food. As she watched, her stomach growled. It was simple cereal and milk, but that didn’t matter to Dolly. Dolly grabbed a couple of the bowls and started to pour the cereal for the three of them as Blade looked elsewhere. As she was preparing her meal, some odd sounds came from behind by the other row of tables. Dolly suspected that perhaps someone was choking on their food. Blade’s reaction quickly squashed that idea.

Dolly’s eyes followed Blade as he went over to investigate what was going on. She saw Vam had joined him along with Dougie. Dolly spun around in her chair now more curious as to what was going on. Right then, Blade had called out, beckoning her to join him. Blade called out wanting to know if anyone was sporting a red triangle upon their shirt. She hopped from her seat and joined Blade over by the lone man.

Standing next to Blade with the other figure at the table, Dolly noticed the writing upon the mostly clear white surface. Her face scrunched upon reading the sloppy writing. She couldn’t help but feel sad for the lone man. She could not imagine what it would be like to lose your tongue, let alone how painful. But the writing also mentioned the red triangle. Dolly didn’t give much thought to the clothes she was wearing. Outside of the bands and collar, that is. Did the patches mean anything?

Dolly took a look at her blouse, and then up at Blade. She had a purple square as did Blade. Dolly looked at the others. Vam had spoken with Mute and then left in search of something, so Dolly couldn’t see her shirt. As for Dougie, he had a… well, Dolly couldn’t quite tell if Dougie had a patch. His sweatshirt covered most of his torso and upper body.

“Excuse me.” Dolly said quietly as she scooted up to him. He still seemed unaware, lost in his own eyes. Whatever he could be thinking eluded Dolly, but she felt that he was perhaps uncomfortable with the situation. Dolly certainly was. As softly as she could, Dolly pulled the collar of Dougie’s hoodie to the side, just enough to look at the patch on his shirt. It was also a purple square.

“Um, me and Dougie have purple squares.” Said Dolly. She fixed Dougie’s hoodie as gently as she could, turning around again to face Blade. “Are there other colors?” Just as she asked the question, someone spoke up. Dolly spun around Blade waited for more answers. She watched as a man from one of the other tables came over. It was one of the first people who had entered the cafeteria, and who had come from one of the other halls by himself. He did have a red patch on his shirt, but it was also a square, not a triangle.

“But it’s not a triangle.” Said Dolly thoughtlessly looking up at the man calling himself Red. She wasn’t sure of the significance, Red only had one similarity to the figure Mute described. Even so, Dolly was growing increasingly nervous, but she tried her best to hide it. Everyone was here, so there was safety in numbers. Dolly quickly averted her gaze and left the three of them to discuss it.

Dolly had moved over to near where the one who threw Blade sat against one of the flipped tables. The boy who Dolly followed in was also with her. They had yellow squares on their shirts. Dolly had absolutely no idea what they meant, but now she knew that the colors had to have meant something. What she was able to figure out at least was that everyone from the same hall had the same colors. All the yellow patches showed up together. She and the others from her hall had purple, and Red was by himself. Dolly walked back up next to blade.

“I couldn’t find any other red ones. They’re all squares. No triangles.”
