5 years ago PapaOso (Shields of War) began a story. We all know about Professor Xavier and the countless tales of his X-Men. Our story was adjacent and far more original. You have all been tagged as a call to arms. With PapaOso's blessing, I want to bring about an ultimate culmination. I want to see the characters from Oso's first iteration, the first generation of The New Era, and I want to see characters from the latest iteration helmed by Alma and Pilatus (Avalon Rising). And I want to see new faces as well.

All of you have created a character, but none of you have had a chance to see that character through to their story's natural ending. I want to offer you all, new an old, an adventure that that will be intense, memorable, frantic and hopefully ultimately satisfying.

I'm inviting every generation of X-Men: The New Era players, spanning the last 5 years, for at least one last bout. One more sprint into the fray. One more insane, cataclysmic threat that only we, the initiated, are foolish enough and brave enough to step up to.

There are some natural questions that need answering. What's is the plot? Is this a reboot or a continuation? Can we bring back old characters or create new ones?

Yes.

There are several variations of the plot, depending on who signs up and how many legacy characters we have across differing generations of this story. Generation 2 was a total reboot of Generation 1, with a few shared characters. The roster changed even futher (but not completely) with Generation 3 and beyond, as well. If only people from the very last game join up, then the plot will be one way. If people across all generations of the game show up, then the plot will be vastly different.

What one can obviously expect are common elements. This story centers around a school that mirrors Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. This is Ashford Institute for the Gifted, founded by Malcolm Ashford - a dear associate of Xavier's. This institution is home to original mutants with fantastic abilities who try to make it in a world that fears them while also using their powers to protect eachother and society at large.

You are a student at this institute. You are a mutant. You are unique. You have a power or powers. You have a special ability or abilities. The world doesn't trust your kind and many malevolent mutants give credence to their skepticism and bigotry. You've been sent to this school because it was all your parents knew to do and now you must make it here, harness your powers, use them to the best of your ability to protect yourself and the world.

But its not all classes and assignments. It's not all passing notes and hanging out in the quad. This is not Slice of Life. My intention, my goal, is to make you a bit on edge. There will be blood. There will be heartache. There will be death. The drama is not going to be limited to PG. Shit will get heavy. I request that anyone looking to take part in this literary endeavor please be 18+, not because there are any overtly sexual themes, but because I don't want to feel guilty when the narrative starts getting real.

Are you ready? Are you up for it? Lets put on the uniform at least once more, and then buckle the fuck up. I'm taking the wheel this time and the ride is going to be bumpy.

If there is sufficient interest, it will be more or less 2 weeks before I can get this off the ground due to work schedule, but then it is on.

Guardian Angel Roleplay

I think plenty of people would be interested in that concept, but you may attract more players if you flesh out the idea a bit more. What sort of plotline do you envision? What type of setting? Is this going to be on a celestial plane, is it on earth, is it modern times, the future, the past?

You've got an intriguing baseline. Develop it a bit and pitch the details. Good luck!

I've got my eye on Pride or Lust, but I'm pretty flexible. Is someone else has a solid idea for one of those, I don't mind choosing the other or something different altogether.

Preliminary Idea: Lust

Sin: Lust
Concept: Sort of a psychic vampire. He is emboldened and empowered by lustful interactions or desire in general and often craves it just as a typical literary vampire thirsts for blood. After an engagement, he is at his most powerful, being rendered supernaturally resilient, aesthetically flawless, and with enhanced strength and speed. I may personalize his abilities a little further once we get closer to the RP opening.

As time goes by between "feedings", his abilities begin to wain and physical blemishes begin to appear (bags under his eyes, wrinkles, yellowing teeth, a sort of sickly demeanor).

In any case, cool concept for an RP. I look forward to seeing it come to life.

Personality: Rebellious, fun-loving degenerate. Easily seduced by risk and danger and absolutely addicted to stirring the pot and causing trouble. If you need to saddle up against the odds, Vance will happily be at your side to stare down the apocalypse.

History: Vance's mother died during his birth into the Ebonlock family. Because of this, his father, Magnus, has always held a grudge against him. Magnus, a prominent and wealthy member of society, allowed his hired help to provide most of Vance's upbringing. Though face-to-face time with his father was rare and brief, Magnus has always made sure that Vance was provided for in terms of material necessities. Emotional support, however, he gave almost none.

Because of this, Vance took to a lot of attention seeking behavior including theft, arson, drinking, gambling, fights and the like. Once he had become old enough, Magnus decided to take his son's chaotic energy and put it to use. He pulled back the proverbial curtain and revealed the seedier parts of the family business. While the Ebonlocks have plenty of legitimate enterprises, there were also operations shrouded in shadow. Magnus explained to Vance that if he was dead set on being a degenerate then he might as well do so in a constructive way, but the young prince would be starting from the very bottom. Magnus made a deal with Vance that if he were to complete his collegiate studies, he would bring him further into the fold and reward him with more father/son time that the young lion had secretly, desperately craved. In the meantime, he would be given mundane tasks like deliveries, collections and the like to prove his value to the family.

Class: The Ebonlocks are considered Upper Class. Vance, however, is an apple that has fallen far from the tree, preferring the company of those in the lower classes.
Occupation: Student [3rd year, Business major], Errand Boy for the family business.
