Seeing multiple people getting into the lift and taking their time, it was like seeing an anthive being open forcefully by a shovel. So many inmates, prisoners, and guards. Fighting desperately for their freedom.
That kind of raw fight, where everything is on the line.
It never gets tiring to see it.
Then as Abby finally went inside and he joining her side, they were joined by others as the level that they're on will finally be traversed.
Then someone apparently dropped right on top of their lift, one that had him instantly looked up and readied to fight but there was no hostile intent. Opening itself and with someone armed to the teeth as they deposited many weapons, Körbl eyes looked and sighted a sword.
"Can I have one of those?"Körbl pointed to a Katana. It was no messer and he had never really utilized these before but it was better than nothing.
"Huh, brought back unwillingly to her lab to be dissected? That sounds like my night." Skarsneek grinned at that, yeah, the more Lunatea speaks, she definitely reminds him more of his younger siblings. She's so easy to be teased.
Then he felt a presence, one that made itself known as it landed close to them with a heavy thud. Turning towards it, Skarsneek brows rose as he saw who and what the newcomer was.
It was a dragon, a real dragon. The sheer sheen and opulent reflection of gold horn reflecting the sunlight added to the effect as the wings disappeared into golden light. A literal walking treasure, he would say.
But the proportions, phew mama!
If Lunatea was cake, then this one was the whole bakery!
Then hearing on the prospect of being feasted on, Skarsneek immediately replied without thinking. Eyes completely glued on her. "Sure, I love to take a bite of you."
A moment afterward of calming down and regaining his wits, from the corner of his eyes, he caught Samael and Lunatea having a moment.
Once more, the urge to tease them was too much. Skarsneek swore, it'll be the last one. It was too good of an opportunity. Quietly, he snuck behind the two of them and whispered to Samael's ears. Though obviously, Lunatea was given a literal front seat to Skarsneek conversation as he exaggeratedly whispered.
"Ooo, careful there Sam. She might bring you back to her room so she can get you to stuff a bun in her oven. Put some cream in her ice," Skarsneek didn't even hesitate as he said as many double entendres as possible. "Open her book so you can bookmark her."
Then before she can retaliate, Skarsneek flitted away in an instant. Giggling all the while at his mischief.
After all, what kind of goblin would he be if he didn't press some buttons?
"Aw, I thought we were friends." Skarsneek jested with a grin and put his hands on his hips.
Then Kyouko intervened on her behalf, making him shrug his shoulders at that. "Was just having some fun. She reminds me of my younger sisters."
"Besides, I like my mountains and hills bare to the world. It's like a nude painting and a fig leaf just placed there on the good bits. Totally unnecessary." Skarsneek pointed out before a thought came to him. "Maybe that's the appeal? I don't get it."
Then a newcomer caught all of their attention, turning towards it to be met with a woman-no, a Dhampir. If Skarsneek nose and sense was correct. The total lack of any monster girl feature and demonic energy was enough to tell. One thing for sure, she looked like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed if the state of her clothes was any indication.
Focusing on them, Skarsneek was treated to a loud exclamation and he winced at that. Was it that obvious he was a male, he even kept it a secret as best as he can?
Must be out of practice. He inwardly told himself.
That's when he was pulled, hoisted around, and turned multiple times to be inspected. Deciding to not resist to quickly get it over with, Skarsneek was finally let go as the Dhampir looked like she had a conniption.
"Calm down already, and if you're that curious. No, I was born like this." He waved to himself with a thumb and decided to finally push away his robes. Revealing the chest strap and short pants of the traditional goblin garment, even from close, there's not much of a tell from a normal goblin aside from having a more muscle mass on the chest and broader shoulder. "My mother is a normal goblin who runs an inn, my dad used to be a warrior for hire. Nothing special."
"Honestly, is being male that important? Not even my tribe made this much of a fuss."
Well, that was a small lie. More like his mother didn't care and his father told him to keep it a secret. No one ever really found out he was a male.
"Well, aren't you quite the forward one." Skarsneek leered as he knelt down right behind Lunatea, admiring her rear posterior. It certainly looked amazing, enough that he was tempted to take a coin and see if it'll bounce right off if he threw it.
Though to others, most of them wouldn't even notice Skarsneek had even moved until he made himself known by speaking up. Only Shizuka caught it since they're in a similar work line.
Skarsneek only huffed when he noticed the enchanted undergarment, it would've been perfect sight if not for that. Her pheromones and scent had his blood flowing south, she was a bunny girl, and a great booty. Everything was great.
So why the need for these pair of training wheels? He can only shake his head.
"But really, an enchanted item for seduction?" Skarsneek flicked his hair back and teased. "You'll do better wearing an ordinary one."
"This here just gets in the way of a perfect picture." He adjusted Lunatea's skirt back to its normal position for what it's worth. The skirt was so short that it might as well not even be there.
"Also, nice to meet ya. Samael, Atsuha, Hangai and...Shizuka, right?" Skarsneek stood back up as he recounted their names. The last one was odd since he was sure that it was a female name.
"But is that a snowball? You got ice magic too? Well, at least we're stocked in water for this trip." Skarsneek noted Samaels ice magic capabilities.
Air-filled with salt greeted the day as wind blew it gently and firmly into the port. Mixed scents of dried fish, sea, and stale water came as a goblin rubbed their nose at that.
Giving a polite bow, and occasional greeting in the local language to passers-by, Skarsneek of the Red Hill, pulled their hood backwards to feel the breeze.
Their tiny and distinctive horns would've identified him easily as a goblin but here, in the far east, some would've mistaken him for a tiny and young Oni instead. Red hair fluttered as he cracked his neck. His thick robes occasionally revealed the traditional Goblin garbs, a single cloth around his chest, short brown and green pants that reveal his knees. Certainly dressed very light to where he was. Though in between steps, one can catch the faint sound of wood bouncing off occasionally.
Taking a look at the group he was involved in, honestly, he didn't expect another monster boy to be here. Skarsneek had assumed he was the only one around, well, that teaches him to be so sure of his knowledge.
But for the rest, it certainly was interesting. A rabbit girl, followed by a spider and an undead? This was quite the party if he said so himself.
When they finally meet up with the employer. Skarsneek bowed politely and formally to her in perfect Zipangu style. "Greeting, this one is Skarsneek of the Red Hill tribe. It's a pleasure to finally meet cha. You too."
He addressed the last part to the other man that had arrived earlier.
Still, it seemed Kyouka didn't waste any time. Debriefing them quickly and bringing them up to speed on what they need to do. Something Skarsneek was very familiar with. Investigate, verify, and then act. Looks like he'll have to put in quite the amount of work. "Go in, get information, ruin Varjo plans and save people? Music to my ears."
Granted, hearing the irony of an anti-monster nation being invaded by another anti-monster nation brought a sublime schadenfreude to him.
"And you can count on me. I'll make a good impression, as much as I can." Skarsneek grinned and waved assuredly with two fingers. Though inwardly, he was thinking of ways on how to mitigate the amount of attention he'll get from the locals. Perhaps wearing those straw hats and going about like a child will help? It always does in his journey.
Alright, cleaned up my post a bit and add a little bit stuff.
Appearance: Red hair, a pair of horns typical of the goblin tribe. There really isn't much difference between the normal female goblin and Skarsneek in terms of appearance barring having a slight tone upper chest and muscle mass. In fact, everyone assumed that Skarsneek is a female. This also compounded that Skarsneek often wear a robe that covered him completely though the other reason he does this is to keep his weapons, twin clubs that could easily be combined into a longer quarter-staff.
Name: Skarsneek of the Red Hill
Race: Goblin male
Magic/Abilities/Equipment:
Stealthy: Skarsneek stealth capabilities is enough to impress and even hid himself from mamonos or pursuing humans, combined with his strength as a goblin, enables him to hold onto small crevices, rocks, small alcoves or anything as a foothold easily. Honed even more throughout his stint as a thief.
Highly Intelligent: Skarsneek is a very intelligent goblin, comparable to even other higher intelligence mamono or humans. Skarsneek has learned multiple languages, spoken and written, as well as capable of learning things very fast. This has enabled him to infiltrate and hid among other nations.
Skilled fighter: Skarsneek is also a skilled fighter, getting into multiple scraps when things often don't go as smooth. While not getting the champion of fighting award amongst the really skilled and elite mamono, Skarsneek is able to last more than a few minutes against them in a head-on fight.
Twin clubs: Raised up with the traditional weapons of large clubs, Skarsneek can appreciate using the near oversized weapons but experience taught him to slim it down for easier carrying, travel and stealth. At the end of it, the two clubs enable him to screw it together to form a long quarterstaff club.
Personality: Skarsneek Red Hill, an ambitious, thrill-seeking and adventurous goblin. Always wanting to seek the most amazing adventure, seeking the next thrill and test himself by sneaking into the most secure compound. Trying to steal things, small, big, mundane or fascinating. All of it was done by his whims and nothing else, it earned him a little heat, arrest warrant, bounty post from a few states.
Background: Skarsneek was born amongst eight hills, each of them having different colors due to the soil and trees coloration. The Eight Hills themselves are a series of hills interconnected and a large area that served as a trade route, each of them controlled by different goblin tribes. It used to be populated with dwarves but the change had greatly affected them.
He originated from the red hill, famed for its red maple trees and numerous amount of goblins that served as the most outgoing, adventurous and even fighters.
As a child, he stood out amongst the goblin clans by being the only male born. Perhaps the first of his kind. Skarsneek grew up amongst a family of five, being the eldest child. Dealing with his family trade of an inn, he has heard and was regaled dozens of stories by adventurers, merchants, and the occasional ambassadors of other nations passing through the area quickly.
With that, Skarsneek packed his things and went out on his own adventure at an early age. Through that, he had journeyed across plenty of land. At times, disguising as a child, impersonating a dull-witted, childish goblin, or even a particularly flat Holstaurus in order to gain information or steal things. Adventuring was hard and didn't bring much money after all, a detail that he wasn't told through stories.
Still, this honed his skill set and even flourish and moved around from place to place. Seeing both the worst and best of both sides.
It all then culminated in his latest job offer in the far east, and one that required a subtle touch. To investigate why Varjo plans to stab their own allies in the back and what else is amiss. Skarsneek would have accepted the job for free on just the premise of screwing over Varjo.
So there he was, heading to the east to meet this Kyouko.
Reusing the old template, I'll edit it out if there's any problem or discrepancy. (I'll put a picture later.)
