Dislike: Political talk-light prods for opinions are fine though if private- Being tied down. Talking about myself too much. Playing party therapist, Edgy shit.
Pretty approachable, most of the time I'm all fine with, motherfucking. dancing down a door way to someone else grounds to chill. I tend to either be chilling or drilling the oil out of the works so random absence or silences are a normal.
It's up kindred. Excuse the wait, it's fucking hotter than a texan demon girl over here. I have added a some changes in the ooc I put up, but a good chunk of it is the same. If you need help, just say and I'll be around to give it old grease to ease.
Pictured: Nithla growing old as the moons rises, protecting his young from the new beasts of Karako. Unknown tribal myth retelling.
"The Nuritopa who were charged with the love of the mother, the ambition of nithla and the beating desires of karako(planet) and thus started the new pantheon. Of these there were many, raging in the hundreds and thousands with a great number of differences.
Some skin were black, or red, others were tall or short and their faces were long like tree trunks or as coiled as pumpkins. They had wings and horns, claws and fangs, stripes and plain and they all had a duty onto them for which they took great pride. Their purpose, their Nauvto - Soul Charge - and took to the lands making many wonders and nurturing the new breed of men they made."
The last kept records of the Myth of Mankind Creation
It is the age of the moon, and has been since the elder told of their day and the elder of that elder told of theirs. In this age, the world Karako is harsh and with little gentleness for the live upon him. Many marks and creations map the lands from here to the great horizons and beyond as works of the divines from the lowest of the highest of the Naritopas. With the remains of these humanoid deities and the wild personality of Karako many beasts and predators of all designs stalk the land, hostile and cruel to enchanting and whimsical.
It is here that your camp is forced to try and survive against the oncoming challenges of the world. Your parents nomadic journey has ended and with their bodies depleted, their old age long set in after spending their youth setting up the most basics of your camp. It is up to you and your kin to ensure the survival, continuance and honoring of their risks and sacrifices. Will your lone camp whisk away into the darkness of Karako constant moonlight, only to have its ruins revealed in its brisk moments of sunlight? Or will you manage to thrive and even build upon what you were given? Will you live on in near total ignorance, now lost of your history and understanding of the world, or will you manage to pierce the inky enigma of why things the way they are after all?

Post in a timely manner. No one likes to be rushed, but the RP benefit from moving things forward than waiting for when you have the power to create the perfect post. This goes for me too. If you are stuck and not sure what to do, don't feel ashamed with asking me or even other players for help.
It is known that Karako is the world and all the life that dwells within it, even to an extent, humanity itself. Karako has turned their back on not only life but humanity especially. It is known that once the sun only ever shined, there was no moon, and that the heat was only ever kind. That animals treated predating on one another with the seriousness of a game and that strife was not known as it is known now.
Karako is a memory of a religion, with even the proper rituals dying out as many tribes become embittered to the harsh world he gives them now. When he does appear recently, he can be just as callous and cruel as he is kind and abundant, supplying vast orchard of fruit to materializing new predators from his gullets to hunt down camps to their last.
Nithla was the first and only true human. He knew not age, aches, sickness or weakness. He was born a perfect human and given a great and boundless ambition to hunt and grow. He is the creator of the spear, the rope, the campfire and arts of foraging. But he died in some sort of tragedy, he had no female counterpart so how humanity continued after his death is a mystery. Despite this, Nithla appears as a divine and is the connection between humanity and the higher world. It is Nithla who normally called upon to appeal to the divine on mankinds behalf.
Nithla explanation for lack of a female counter part, or the tragedy that killed him are many depending on each tribe. There is no conclusive understanding of what the facts are. Some say he could turn into both, some say he had a female counterpart but for some reason she stopped appearing or had a falling out with Nithla. What the truth is, no one knows.
It is widely accepted that there was once a singular clan for humanity which spanned into the thousands and had greater abundance and technology than today. Items and ruins can be found of these places, normally housing armors and blades up to the medieval era. How these items were made is totally unknown and the true capital of this prior kingdom is lost to all. Such finds are extremely rare and valued as symbols of power and wealth among the remaining meager tribes.
These are divine humans referred to in the quote at the start. This quote is one of the only surviving bits of the past creation myth. They typically walk among the earth but have the power to dematerialize and talk to mankind via rituals, visions, dreams and feelings. They can be niche in their task to immense and cruel and it's not unheard of for a tribe to have one as a leader, although such tribes are typically more akin to slaves than worshippers. There were once many, many Nuritopa but now there are hardly ever to bound found physically moving about and such beings do not take to giving truth freely.
Because so many have disappeared or don't contact their worshippers anymore, there are many icons and religions that have twisted or simply made up figures to be worshipped, believing them to be Nuritopa when in fact they are fantasies.
Without knowing the names or nature of the divine, you can't properly call upon them or address them for worship and help. Without these names, you rely totally on them reaching out to you. While other entities of the divine rings will, from time to time make their natures or actions evident. In order to evoke them to ask for favors, blessings and accords you will need to have a certain level of knowledge.
Despite how small your tribe is, some names are still known.
MONONO: SMASHER OF SKULLS
A giant titan with the hands made up of alligator heads. His face is ever stern and made up of various stones and metal smashed together. He is in favor of wrestling, hand based weaponry and unarmed combat and looks down upon anything else. He holds grudges with very little leeway for mercy and dish out harsh punishment.
He approves of strangulated animals and humans as sacrifices and upon the most favored teaches the art of hand based skills, with it the ancient myths being those especially loved by him will gain the power to change their hands to beasts heads as well.
Some of Monono's teaching
"Say, onto all those that dare speak against me, that violence is the way of protest and abuse the way of authority. Those that do not move by words will be moved by hand and my hands are of the things of misery"
"And, to your children, beat them with only what they can take. So when they come to me as adults, they are prepared for the lessons I will give them. And if they cannot be beaten, prepare them as any other creature for what they are. The rabbit should learn to run from danger, the wolf should learn to call upon the pack, the lion should learn to be the predator"
"Of those that steal. Give them to me. Wrap your hands tightly as I would and give of them to me as sacrifice. That is the redemption and the punishment, for clenched hands that defy hard work"
TARUAKAK, TARUAURKAL!
A divine snake that that circles the sun. It flies in a ring and is made of pure light and fire. The creatures features are not very well known, although its depicted normally with a giant happy, large fang grin that are curly like the sun rays and flames. In its paws it carries great chains of which are chained to wayward flame like entities. He is the steward of the suns gifts and enemy of the clouds.
Taruakaka is known to give gifts to those he especially likes of fire manipulation, or even protection against great flames. Of those who he comes to love, he ensures that the cloud don't block the sun and helps Karako dispel the moon more often.
Some of Taruakak's Teaching
"warmth is within.
By my words I teach you to release them.
Celebrate when things are fine and thank onto those still with you.
Love freely and welcome the burns of heart ache.
Dance close to the flames when things are dark.
Hold onto those that still blaze when you are cold.
For like fire, we are brief, and any flame alone for too long is extinguished.
But love and sharing will ensure warmth spreads forever"
"Of those that think themselves unworthy of tending the flame of home.
Stand under the sun when it appears and see if it judges you unworthy.
Trust what you feel on your skin, and onto that. Take it as blessing.
After that. You will see it time to go forth and do honor with your own embers upon your father and mother."
These two divines are the only entities your tribe as any consistent knowledge of. Worship of them is not sanction by the whole and up to you. More will come as you learn and meet them. Tapada, the tribal Naritopa is in character sheet form in the character section.
1:You get points for posting consistently every day or two.
2: Joining a role that hasn't been filled yet. Roles are
WARRIOR SCOUT LEADER SCHOLAR FARMER SPIRITUAL
Roles are more social/ logistical places you have in society and don't dictate entirely what your character can or may be able to do. But your role should imply on some level that you do it, and your job is important in the camp. So, a farmer will have to RP as they have at least some level of obligation to some sort of food production in their days and them not being around to do it for long periods of time may have consequences in RP later on. Roles in this sense are nets: if you RP as a COOK you'd still be a FARMER, role wise.
3: Roles also give points if they are IN DEMAND. In demand goes up every once in a while in response to events, needs or story lines. Such as a war with another tribe making warriors in demands. In this case, players will get points for joining up for these roles even if the group has more than enough warriors to be balanced and survive.
4: Building relationships with other characters. Players are strongly encouraged to formulate bonds BEFORE the RP starts. The more relationships you have at start that allows your character to formulate an actual opinion on them the more points rewarded. After the creation process, points are also awarded for rivalries, romances and different, more notable dynamics between players. Especially players your character may of not interacted with a lot prior.
5: Doing plots. If I throw a hook to check the ruins, you don't have to take the hook. But you will be passing up points by doing so.
6: Events: Occasionally things will occur in the world that the players have a set amount of time to do.
7: Dreads and Dreams: Each character should have 3 dreads and 3 dreams relating to their character story/ past/ future in some way. Completing a dread or a dream grants one time points on their completion.
Example of a dread: killing the tiger that killed your father.
Example of a Dream: Finding treasure to set you for life.
Spells are abilities that players gain over time that offer immense effect at the cost of POINTS. Using spells actively takes away the points you earn towards new roles or leveling up. In exchange, a spell can offer near mythical results when used. Spells in this sense can include active magic and more subtle signs of magic, like a warrior cutting down a tree in a single swipe.
Men and women have large magical differences in the world of Karako. It is considered to be an over all mystery where women actually came from, with many tribes inventing or piecing together entirely new mythos on what women exactly are. Even the most elder who retain fragments more of the original truth of creation admit to not knowing exactly where they came from or what they are, although despite this are a part of humanity and not considered outside or a downgrade of it at all. Although, this varies from tribe to tribe. As does the treatment of men with new tribal practices and beliefs.
Regardless: Men are notably stronger than women and have a greater physical presence in the world. They get sick less and get a bonus point to stamina and HEALTH. Men also tend understand physical tools faster and are more favored by Nithla.
Women, however, tend to have more vivid visions and an easier time obtaining and using more blatantly magical spells. They get 3 points back on each spell, so long as it dosen't reduce the spell cost below 1. Women feel off when a tantrum by karako is about to occur.
STAMINA
Stamina is your capacity to fight in a literal and abstract sense against an immediate threat. When your stamina reaches 0 you are defeated and start to take health damage from whatever is attacking you. If you take no damage, you are still defeated and need to recover.
If you are fighting other tribes or even other RP'ers, both of your stamina is going down per post. With your own post acting as when your own stamina point is deducted. You regain a stamina point every real life day.
You get 6 points.
You have one stamina. You can put points into stamina but unspent points go towards your score.
Every ALLY player with you in that fight, adds as a plus 1 to your stamina - and you to theirs - Stamina may increase or decrease due to context. Such as certain items increasing stamina when worn or used, or being injured or sick nerfing your stamina until it no longer applies.
Resting at camp restores 4 points of stamina every day instead. You can't go over your max amount via resting.
HEALTH
Health is affected when your stamina is reduced to 0, by specific spells, events or specific creature attacks.
You may put points into health as well.
Losing health grants a quick 2 points of stamina from adrenaline to either fight or flee - or well...try too - Lost health manifests in serious scars or deformities from combat: such as lost limbs, sensitive organs, health issues that are visible on your character. Each point of lost health reduces the CAP of your stamina by 1 points.
You never regain health without outside - divine or magical - aid. When your health is 0 your character dies.
You start off with 1 health.
If your character is a man, you get 2 stamina and 2 health as your baseline instead.
Points don't only go to your chance as a Narutopa but also represent an invisible line for character growth. When you meet the points for a character to level up, new plot points and focus will be put on you by me, as DM. This can include divine visions, random bouts of fortune, a task or a event that involves your character in some way. Just to be clear, these will still happen based on story or random events, the points just ensure that things are fair.
Think of it like this. I see cases where players join, then find themselves neglected or unable to get into the "group" This is a guarantee from me that if you put in the time and activity, then eventually I will directly turn my gaze upon as GM and give you a plot line tethered to you. You get what you put in, sort of deal.
Your camp is the meeting place of your tribe, the place where you kin sleep, new members are born and come of age and the one place of any true security within the ever dramatic world of Karako. The nature of your camp at the moment is meagre and existed for three generations, including you. In terms of mechanics your camp is where things outside of hooks and adventures take place.
Your camp consists of a few dozen straw huts, with a chieftains hut, a large bonfire at the center of town and a small wooden building made up of tied together logs and a straw roof where rituals and religious matters are attended to. In its current state, your camp is of little use outside of shielding your heads and providing a meeting place, but new options and tasks you can choose to do as an ACTION will come into effect as the camp grows or is added upon.
The camp has a progress meter determined by me. When that progress bar is reached, the camp will grow and erect some more buildings and things to do passively. However, players can contribute or aid the camp in gaining new resource, practices or knowledge which all add to the camps growth both in a linear sense - deciding as players to build a fence and spending time RP'ing that, will give the town a fence - but also additional benefits to its passive growth. The towns gets point to growth for every player that joins and everyone that has a role that needs to be filled. If the town starts to drop below a number it needs to thrive, or drops roles it needs to survive. It will start get less progress, should things get REALLY bad then the camp will actually start to degrade and decay.
While the camp, at start, is fixed. Players can try and migrate to a new area to host their society at, if they so wish. But do not expect such a feat to be easy to pull off or convince the village to do.
Of your culture, your faiths, your camp. You are free. But the map is held by a iron clad tradition and won't change. Mostly so it won't get confusing with new symbols.
On this map, which is the only one you currently have, given to you by your founders. Is the centre area of "crude legless stick figures" is your home camp.
Next to that camp is a forest with a two headed snake. This is the HISSING WOODS.
BELOW your camp is a river. With many fish in it.
to the LEFT of your camp is a great titan among mountains. This is MASTERS ROCK.
ABOVE your camp is BLACK BRIDGE. A giant canyon into pure darkness is here with a singular rope bridge over it. On the other side is a hunting/ scout lodge.
BEYOND the forest in the corner of the map is LIGHTS WRATH. Which is a place of much fire and danger.
This is only the starting area, your world will grow as you explore and go further.
LEGEND:
If a singular large creature is on a area. That means a singular known predator or breed of more dangerous predators lurk there.
If many animals are in a map. It means the place is abundant with that animal, be it resource or predator.
If the area has a SQUARE with smudges and dots in it. That is a signifier of death and each smudge how many have died there from the maps creation days so far.
IF a giant figure holding a spear is in the image somehow, this signifies the presence of believed divinity in some form. If the divine is near lightning, it signals potential danger from them.
Color list guide link for picking your character sheet font color.

replace this with name
 Male or Female here
ROLE = place your chosen role here
Naming conventions can be anything. No solid structure for what name are has been made. So you can be radakilo. Or you can be "Chase-Sun" or even something more sentence like, such as "Washes Clothes in Blood" or "Four Whispers, One shout"

TITLES

Write any titles your character may have under here. Normally you gain a title in society for acts of infamy or fame, but also according to tasks and work. A farmer may have a title such as "Soil Soother" or a warrior getting his title for his first kill. You will gain multiple titles as the game goes on. Example titles: "Filthy Soul" "Kind of Kin" "The Gentle Spear"

Heritage

Put your family heritage here. This mean what were your parents name, what were their positions, were they known for anything. Say this in your characters voice "My father was a thief and his name was tiapo, of him he was from jakol who were a great warrior. My mother was of the diviners line and she took on her duties from the elder and grandmother of me, deranda"
You can go back up to 3 generations. But how far - or if not back at all - depends on your character.

HEALTH POINTS: You have 6 points to spend on health or stamina. Unspent points are deposited into your point score for leveling up and other rewards.
You start off 1 in each as a women and 2 as a man as baseline.
STAMINA POINTS

APPEARENCE
A paragraph long - at least - appearance of your character and a general descriptor of them. This means how bad their posture may be, how tall they are, what is the look in their eyes.

PERSONALITY
/color] Write here - as in not in between the code - a description of your character disposition and mindset.
Under each of these titles, place a characters dream. A dream is something your character aspires to do and is a self appointed goal for them to achieve. It should be something important, and will take effort or luck for them to achieve. This can range from rather mundane such as "Open up a shop" to fantastical "Learn how to change into a beast" you get POINTS for achieving your dreams. Some example of dreams for inspiration: "Getting revenge on the monster that killed my friend" - "Becoming the general of the warriors of our camp" - "Getting married" - "getting into a relationship with a specific character" - "Catching a fish as big as I am"

DREADS

ONE

TWO

THREE
Like dreams, dreads are a series of events or goals that you will points for, however. They are opposite of dreams and something your character desperately wants to avoid. Regardless, your character will come to meet their dreads in one form or another as the RP goes on. As fate will afflict them in some form or another given enough time. Dreads can be complex or simple, to "I am a warrior, and never want to be infirmed and crippled. Without my strength, I am nothing" to "Having to visit my fathers gravestone"

RELATIONSHIPS

This is where your characters opinion on others go. This should include a status and a in character opinion under their name with their character color.
example

JOSH RANGTIN

"He likes the dark, he slinks into the shadows away from the camp. I wish he would stay there, but given time he returns to make a mess"
RIVAL
You should do this for each character currently in the RP when you make your character, then update it as new characters come in. This is important because even if you don't have much to say about a character from their perspective, it gives a notion on a meta level on how others can interact with you, it also lets others know they are not being faded out. Which, if you know what I mean, you know what I mean. We've all been there in an RP group.
Forming relationships with people gets me to consider giving points the most. And you should, ideally, try to form something of substance - thats mean: you can be friends but of a deeper opinion than "he me friend, yeah" from your character about them in ooc if you can. Although there will be no punishment for NOT doing so.
Solid sorcery, kindred. Two RP'ers is a good turn out. I'll leave the lure lounging around a bit, see if we get anymore before I set up the main thread.

The last kept records of the Myth of Mankind Creation
Dawn of the Netozoa is a low mechanics RP with casual elements. In this world humanity has only recently discovered writing and curremcy, with many clans and tribes lacking this skill or already in decay. Spears are the standard tool and humanities numbers are few, with tribes consisting of double digits on average.
It is currently the age of the moon, for the sun rarely appears and when it does its time is brief. Storms and thunder are common, along with lightening and for the most part what is left of known humanity does not know why things are this way, due to losses of not only their own history but their religious knowledge and pothole creation myth. Predators and monsters stalk the land, in a montage of unknowable and inconsistent spectrums of malice, mystery, wonder and allure. Many of which target humans with a specific drive based on the whims and tantrums of the divines that rule this place and the periodic rage of Karako - the world itself - as well.
The RP will take place in a singular camp at first. With humans players taking up roles in order to preserve the camp and survive. Each player will have a set of points and when that point hits it score the role of playing as a Nuritopa. Who are more akin to smaller pantheon divines and deities will become open to them. At first there will be only be Naritopa that are part of management, namely me but also any co-GMs or help I gain over time, in order to help tend to the world, the players and prevent plot or activity stagnation.
As the humans continue they will learn more about their past and gain a greater understanding for why the things are as they are and build their tribal camp into something more suiting a home. Your goals are your own, will you raise this humble camp into a beacon of light for humanity? Discover the past and help unravel the horrors of the moon age? Dominate and crush the world? Or fall into the soil like so many of your kindred have done in the past.

You get points for posting consistently without having to be bothered by me or any future co-gms I may have.
Joining a role that hasn't been filled yet. Roles in this case means things like scout, hunter, warrior, leader, ectr. I may include a "in demand" modifier every once in a while just so that, after a point if new players come. A role, even if filled, will give points. This will also be in reaction to story elements...example: if there is a war with another tribe. I may put a demand for players who want to fill warrior roles especially will get more points. This only effects points and not on approval of character sheet.
Building relationships with other characters. The more interactions you have with each character and developed a character opinion of them them. The better. This one a bit contextual, so I may hand these out at will.
Good performance. Just a bonus for posting consistently, on time and interacting with others about the RP.
Doing plots and tasks. If I throw a hook to check the ruins, you don't have to take the hook. But you will be passing up points by doing so.
Events: Occasionally things will occur in the world that the players have a set amount of time to do.
Dreads and Dreams: Each character should have 3 dreads and 3 dreams relating to their character story/ past/ future in some way. Completing a dread or a dream grants one time points on their completion.
Example of a dread: killing the tiger that killed your father.
Example of a Dream: Gaining a small fortune so your children don't have to live in poverty.

((The differences of the sexes are not inspired or based on real life sexual dimorphism. There is a lore reason))
Stamina is everyone health. If you reach zero, your character is defeated and if there is a logical reason for why that may result in death, then your character dies. Stamina basically translates to: how many posts can you stay in a harmful or dangerous scenario realistically.
If you are fighting other tribes or even other RP'ers, both of your stamina is going down per post you're in it. With your own post acting as when your own stamina point is deducted. You regain a stamina point every real life day.
You get 10 points.
You have one stamina. You can put points into stamina to increase it. But unspent points go towards your score.
You can't go over your max amount.
HEALTH
Health acts as your characters lives. When you would die, sometimes the attacks of a creature only remove a certain amount of health and should you have any left, your character is still alive.
Points don't only go to your chance as a Narutopa but also represent an invisible line for character growth. When you meet the points for a character to level up, new plot points and focus will be put on you by me, as DM. This can include divine visions, random bouts of fortune, a task or a event that involves your character in some way.
Think of it like this. I see cases where players join, then find themselves neglected or unable to get into the "group" This is a guarantee from me that if you put in the time and activity, then eventually I will directly turn my gaze upon as GM and give you a plot line tethered to you. You get what you put in, sort of deal.
I plan there to be a camp with an actual mapped area around it, which will remain unknown until the players actually explore the world. Knowledge of the outside world will be minimal and the camp will have very little to it outside of some huts, a worshipping area, a bonfire and some racks for hanging catches. The option to buy or do anything is pretty low outside of talking to other humans. I will put a list of the current things that exist and can be done at the camp up in the real thread. I will keep the camp simple...for now...but if players put more energy into the camp, improving it, moving it and over all just giving it more consideration/ getting items for it. I will include more mechanics and value to the camp itself.
For the moment. It's your place of security and being at camp restores your stamina at 4 times the normal rate.
Normally I don't like to even try and start RP's without a certain number of minimal RP'ers ready to go. But I decided that, since my track record of getting RP's off the ground for any decent length of time is...well...bad. I'm starting this RP even if I only have 1 RP'er who's actually joins. The RP will remain open and inviting to new RP'ers, unless we get an absolutely silly, unmanageable number.
It was beacon day. A day to forget about everything, a day where we celebrated the victory of our unified erecting of the Inner Metropolis: the beacon against the darkness and brutality that defined live in the Cloud. In the inner and outer rim there was partying galore but you, you lucked out and got invited to one of the ultimate parties. Sex, drugs, preserved music and media, forbidden treats and exotic, high class dining filled your night within the SpaceWalker of High Spires. Beknown male model and envied celebrity. How you got so lucky, you can't recall. Won a contest? Were always one of the high classes he associates with? Maybe a close friend? Regardless you were in and you living it up. You're pretty sure half the things that went down in this shing-ding is illegal but the muscle here is hired and the gangs eyes are far, far inside the ship from your festivities.
Then it all went to shit, as most things do in this hellhole. For some reason your simple full walk around on the ships outer hull back to his deck came to a snag, the walker stopped out right. No ship can pick you up and your very certain your signals are going nowhere. Your stuck, trapped, with the only way into the Cloud being into the DEEP UNKNOWN. A place of hidden threats, treasures and regular missing person cases going into the thousands. At first high spires left, optimistic and cocky with two guards. Hours later, one came back in shock and covered in gore from head to toe and refuse to snap out of it.
If you want to be saved. You'll have to save yourself.
As additional lore and world knowledge although most will be irrelevant to this RP.
DISCARDED
Discarded are descendants of the former crew and citizens of the apocalypses in cloud. They are fractured with many different strange tribal and clan like cultures with only mythized bits and pieces of the past at best. All discarded are intermixed with heriditary augmentations, both genetic and metallic which thanks to their large amounts of generational gaps and lack of proper medical/ cybernetic knowledge has led to them being random in their make. Some discarded are almosst mythically beautiful with odd implants, others are freakish and there is little leeway between the two extreames. Discarded are the most common citizen in the outer rim/ inner rim but not numerically the dominant race in the CLOUD. Many discarded still live in the corridors and subsections, refusing to give up their roots for a cushy live.
! Discarded do not have consistent augments. They are totally randomized and changes thanks to generations of crossbreeding.
! Almost no discarded has any idea how these augments work. Even cyberenticist will struggle as t hey come from a more advance time lost to time. Many of them have spiritual or mythical beliefs based on them.
!Your discarded should not have more than 3 augments. More than this results in MAS/ Mixed Augment Syndrome. Which typically results in massive genetic disorders/ death or really freaky looking people with major issues.
ECONOIDS
Econoids are a series of enigmatic mutants that mostly dominant the toxic outer wilds. They bost extreme numbers with a absurd capacity for direct flesh/ nerve absorption and integration of materials. Their body changes muscular/ skeletal frame to adjust to these absorbed items which causes freakish and weird looking monsters. Econoids, however, retain human sentience and emotional intelligence. They spawn mysteriously from the toxic crevices of the outer wilds - and sometimes else where- and have many communities and towns. They, however, after a certain age for reason unknown typically turn into tumoroids: super predatory monsters that have absorb multiple, if not sometimes hundreds of things. Once a econoid has absorb something it can't be disconnect, not even by medical science known in the inner metropolis.
! Econoids faced a massive war of genocide by the other races for their land - intiated by the misidentification of them as "infantile tumoroids"
! This was a long time ago and econoids are allowed into society. But there is still a lot of racial tension from econoids to others. Making econoids rather xenophobic and incultured.
! Most econoids have a strong "debt" based culture. A lot end up absorbing weapons or items, dooming them to a life time of that career for this debt or sense of reciprocation.
GHOSTS
Ghosts are the newest race to come into light. Discovered wondering the dark corridors, doing mundane tasks and maintenance of many basic functions in the area with no care for safety. The ghosts are all fully suited - or all covered - humanoids with a base line psychic ability to utilize empath skills and retrocognition. As a result ghosts regularly become "lost to the past" and end up as psuedo-crew with no goals or life concerns that were first found. Ghosts themselves are fervent ancestralism that live in a large, far off section of the ship in a theo-fascist police state unless they leave for the city. They are haunted constantly by visions and nightmares of the apocalypse but never a clear answer as to what happened. Those that do understand turn feral. Ghosts are invisible without their suits but lose health rapidly from the psychic barrages of horror from the past dead. Ghosts faces can seen in digital devices and picture but come off as mangled, horrified images.
! Ghosts are semi-rare in normal society. They live far away and have to travel based on psychic maps to avoid too horrifying mental episodes from the past.
! Ghosts can enter and see peoples dreams - both only standing there - when in very close radius to a sleeping character. They cannot move around ot explore dreams so their views are limited.
! Ghosts generally consider their suits to be hairlooms although not all of them are of the same value.
SLAVES
Slaves are a group of cyborgs that were found eager and helpful in the industrial sector. This was a hibernation state they entered into somehow via unknown means during the apocalypse. When they start to awoke the groups in charge renamed them slaves to get around he mislabelling and continue work while trying to make slavery legal. As more awoke, eventually the entire work force, it became impossible and a bloody rebellion took place. The slaves now own the industrial sector and work for the city of their own accord. Slaves is a defiant name adopted to indicate they are sentient beings, not robots. However, slaves require advanced, long term health care and cybernetic knowledge which only certain people in their community know and those people form the metal workers union. Who basically rule them with a iron fist.
! Slaves have more or less gotten over the rebellion. The people who took part were executed and they flexed their muscles. The city relies and respect them.
! Slaves were alive prior the apocalypse but their memories are fuzzy. Slaves who do remember almost always go clinically paranoid, especially of organics and turn hostile of even their own kind.
! Slaves live in "boxes" storage boxes stacked and converted into flats. Their fellow friend/ family or gang that live in this box are inner support group and they financially support and physically aid each other. Without a "box" as these communities are called it's almost impossible for the average slave to pay for their own health care or needs.
RON NEW TO LOST AND LOSING.
Ron is the name of a series of formerly isolated zoo specimens, how they survived can only be ascribed to two things: the AI continuing its zoo duties and the fact that ron seems to be host to a form of specially evolved Eco-parasite. How this parasite came to be is unknown but it acts as additional brain component, namely a human brain replica which allows ron to master basic number and logic problems. Rons eventually escaped their enclosure after a few generations and gain run of the zoo itself until the other races found them roughly 55 years ago. Rons are named all after their first ancestor to decode what their name tag meant. To have a different name means to be a part of a different tribe. Sometimes Ron's have a different second name to indicate something smaller, like family tree or specific friend gangs.
Rons are by no means a mental match for humans, averaging at what humans would considered to below average and they have zero psychic sense but Rons retain a mutagenic affect imparted from their parasite. Somehow they can access DNA knowledge with enough time and triggers. This knowledge is purely memorized though and once that memory reach its limit. Rons are back to monkeying around in most high end areas.
! Rons are not very intelligent but aware of the outside worlds malice and can display moments of cunning in regards to it.
! Rons may be monkeys but don't possess their animalistic strength thanks to the inhibitors bought on along with their sentience.
! Rons practice slavery and regularly sell their own kin as pets or workers. They practice this long before outsiders came and generally the ron who display the most cunning is considered to be the top provider. Ironically, despite being primitives in technology they practice a very strong barter/ merchant culture and many take out their slaves to barter with the outside for the one thing they got. Slave rons see this as a good way for them to help out their kin, especially the disable and its looked at by both as a noble act and position.
ADDITIONAL LORE SNIPPETS
SHIPS: The world inside cloud has no knowledge on how advance systems in the ship work. They have only known the giant hybrid shipcity of Cloud and never gained access to its engines or advance mechanic/ control areas thanks to the dangers of the ship and its size.
SPACE WALKER: A spacewalker is the closest thing you have to a proper ship in the universe of DF/ this RP. A spacewalker/ ship walker is basically a big robot with a hull that clamps onto the side of cloud and walks along it magnetically. Very short range - for space - ships do exist but they almost are exclusively owned by the minors union as they need them for mining jaunts and because of their rarity.
DEEP UNKNOWN: There are 3 unknowns, the deep, upper and lower. All of them are dangerous and almost all of them are...well...unknown to the average populace. Death is basically assured in these parts with roaming bandits, pirates, merciless scavengers, hazards, faulty systems, mutated eco-life and unpredictable ancestral defence system being the least of your worries. Horrors here...real...horrors.
Pre-apocalypse: No one should have any clear memory of what the pre-apocalypse was like, or the apocalypse itself although it is known that it was brutal, horrific, nightmarish and left entire cities and the ship itself empty. Filled with skeletons, gore and ghosts. Even the ghosts mostly just get glimpses of how specific people died or what they did.
ETERNAL NIGHT and DARKNESS: With exception to the inner metropolis the artificial weather dome is broken, causing eternal night. Daylight is only seen by those lucky few and those that don't enter the city sphere - roughly in middle of the great ship - only know dark corridors and pale lights.
OOC
1: Right off the bat. NO Posting times. I'm removing them out right. However. I will nudge you every now and then make a personal call to warn you I feel you are taking exceptionally long to post once we establish what reasonable for you.
2: Your characters can die.
3: Before a CS is fully accepted - I'll let you know if the cs is good enough though - you need to coordinate at least 1 relationship of any type in any way beyond "Meh" or "Some guy I work with" in your sheet with another RP character.
MECHANICS
On the subject of mechanics. I put up an interest check of this RP with a voting system for if mechanics bothered people. I didn't get a lot of replies although someone did tell me my posting times were a bit off putting. As such. I'm going to be taking a half approach to mechanics and keeping SOME things but trimming the more complex/ or over layering stuff.
HEALTH
Health is determined by POSTS LEFT which is your bodily frame. If you get hit then the number of posts you have left until you die of blood loss/ shock or some such keeps going down whenever it is your turn to post in the post cycle, even if you don't actually post. Damage after this point continues to decrease or take off more of your remaining posts.
Health essentially amounts to this: you have x amount of posts/ health points - same thing - on hit you lose health points. After this hit you continue to lose health points passively until you are healed/ stabilized. If you don't, you die.
DYING
When you lose all your health points you faint/shut down or lose consciousness in some form. You have an additional 2 post left to be stabilized in which case you are out cold until some time has passed - rolled by DM with a 1d4 for how many hours in game you are out you are out - If you take any more hits in this state you die.
STARTING STORE
I will be providing the players as a whole, all together, a series of points which they can use to upgrade their starting resources. This can increase what the team has access to in the SPACEWALKER to begin with or the type of equipment they have access to thanks to unlocking a nearby or something. I'll make it clear what the players options are once we got some submitted sheets.
Excluded Mechanics
On the subject of armor or other mechanics from drifting future roleplayerguild.com/topics/190034-dri… They are not included although if the accepted RP'ers desire me to introduce them then I may do so later.
TAGGING AND PSYCHIC POWERS
There are two tags you will notice in this game right off the bat. One will look like this:
Malcom is feeling: sad, betrayed, tired, frustrated, hurt, rushed, aggitated, alert, ready, active and adventerous.
All players should post this if a GHOST or other person with psychic powers is near you. These are your characters feelings and inner complexities, you DON'T and shouldn't give a clear answer. So be sure to apply as many keywords you think apply to your characters emotional state. If they just got done talking to a hot girl they might feel anxious or regretful as well as happy and ready for the day, for example. It's up for character - their player - to try and deduce useful information from your revealed emotions.
HIDDEN HORRORS
There are major threats in the darkness. They consist of FORM, NATURE, LORE. If you can discover these bits and pieces via experiences, scavenging or digging into the unknown the threat and its full abilities and scope is revealed in the OOC.

NAME HERE

You are expected to use your color and name above your posts in this code. It's also expected of others to write your character name in the same code/ color. absitomen.com/index.php?topic=331.0 < --- color names for bcode font. Most should work.
AGE HERE
RACE HERE
SEX HERE

APPEARENCE: You may post a picture or write a description/ both. Please keep written descriptions below 3 paragraphs

I might. I'm kind of up in the air with everything right now, kindred. I'll mention you though if my vibes match your times though when I make the RP proper.
shit, it means I mad appreciate you taking the time to post and give me some greater sight into why some people choose flight instead of fight for my RP, my photon persona.
Impressive genetics, comrade. I mad appreciate you, motherfucking, giving me your report. I did consider that the time limit might be a bit of a anxiety/ tension bomb for some. Do you think you would be cool by any chance with like 5 days? I want to have a bit of a time filter as I've been in a lot of RPs where if people were given too much time they slowly relax on it to the point they lost attention.
Or is that a bit too tight for you to slip in. Not saying I won't consider making it a weekly thing. Just testing the best corridor width in terms of time from the posters perspective.
I'm not giving up on this, my twin talents. But I do think that something ain't so inviting about my, motherfucking, set up here. So. I'm started a interest check for a shorter RP about a bunch of stranded party goers surviving in the deep unknown set in this world. I'm asking people to let me know what amount of mechnaics - if any - would they like in it this time.
Laughing, shooting, smoking, boozing. The personal walker of High Spires was a thing of wonder in the world of decay that was your city, your life, something that stuck onto the psuedo-city of the Cloud like a big bloody bruise from the long forgotten apocalypse. But this little shipwalker, this intact relic of a bygone era was clean of all that. As if it wasn't here for all the brutality of the last 300 years or so. For once, you felt clean. Clean enough to get dirty without concern. You're sure this little hut housed several broken laws within it during this celebration but if someone drops a wallet when noone is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
Not on the official records and all the muscle here was bought. This should of been a big deal, this should of been the night of your life and for the most part it was. Until, well, until the darkness of that damn ship took a hold of it. Some sort of system error. This should of been simple, a straight forward walk around the ship in a full circle back to the secure, personal deck of Hire Spires. Now we're stuck, alone, no signal, no help in the deep unknown. You've barely been here a few hours and already you heard things you wish you didn't.
Loud hisses threatened like snakes from the other side, muffled cries dragging further away and stomping so loud it made the room rattle. Everyone knows that the deep unknown is one of the deadliest places of the ship, but why it is deadly is...well..unknown. But if you want to get home, you're going to have to nurse your hang overs and start looking for a way back. High Spires with two of his escorts went out first, cocky and sure. Only one came back, babbling and covered in blood.
I've made some, motherufucking, other theatre fiasco in the past but I'm a bit fond of injecting mechanics in them. This RP will be set in a world I made not long ago called drifting future but it didn't get a lot of takers. roleplayerguild.com/topics/190034-dri…
I think that people aren't so into mechanics. So, I'm making a new, shorter RP with way less - if no - mechnics.
So.
If you are interested please help me out, kindred and please pick a number next to your stated interested.
1: I'm interested in playing but with only one key mechnaic in - such as the health mechanic stated in drifting future ooc -
2: I'm ok with the mechanics around things like shopping, trait buying or starter choosing options.
3: I prefer to have absolutely no mechanics of any sort in this RP.
Mix the numbers if you feel it fits your wants -eg: keeping shoping and the health system - 1-2 example.
SHIPWALKER: The technology of long range ship travel is all but dead in the post-apocalypses of the new generations in Drifting Future. One of the few real "personal ships" are shipwalkers. Big crab like mechs that latch onto the side of the ship and walk over its hull. This is what your party was in until it got stuck.
Story explanation: The party plan was for the shipwalker to walk all around the outer ship hull, effectively going in a full circle back to the private dock. Since the Cloud is absurdly GIGANTIC this is a big deal. But it got stuck far away from society of any sort. High Spires is a celebrity and you were invited to this party where all sorts of debauchery go down, be it through luck, a personal in or you were part of the higher society crowd in some way. The goal will be to survive and hopefully find a way back to some semblance of society/ safety.
All the races in drifting future will be open to play as. Even though they might seem a bit off in a party atmosphere. Ignore the mechanical natures of each race for the moment : eg - discarded augment list -
Obviously, there's a lot to read in drifting future. So, you can just ask me stuff. I won't be ramrod and stiff stoffed about it, kindred. But please do read your races section if nothing else.
