"That's a fair point." Torvi said with a nod, knowing that oftentimes the wealthy fair better than others. Wealth equals power in most societies, but with power came another common craving that could work in their favor. "However there is bound to be those of the wealthy wanting more power. I'm sure some desire to improve their station to the highest standing they can." She was trying her best to choose her words carefully. Last thing they needed was for someone to overhear their conversation and turn them in for treasonous talk. If people were paying close enough attention that could still be the case, but the plus side in being in a tavern was the fact that people were often too drunk to notice or care.

She contemplated things a bit more as she finished off her drink. The ball really wasn't the best plan if she were being honest, but what other options did they have right now? There wasn't much they could do. Besides, could be kind of fun to dress up and pretend to be part of the wealthy crowd. The thought of Bowyn in formal wear made her smirk a bit. "Oh come now, it sounds like you don't want to dress up and be all fancy. It could be fun. You'd probably clean up nicely. You might even be, dare I say it, handsome!" She teased him and then giggled a bit at herself.

She glanced down at her empty cup and then over to the bar, debating on getting another drink. That's when she heard Bowyn's solemn remark and she turned back to him. Her heart ached just a bit as she did, but he was right. She reached out and gently took his hand, giving it a soft squeeze. "I know and we won't make a mistake. We'll think things through as thoroughly as possible." She reassured him, but gave him a sad smile. They had to be so very careful. She let go of his hand after a moment and took his glass. "For now, though, let me go get us another drink. That man at that table over there was kind enough to donate some amas for us." She said with a sly smile as she held up a few amas she'd managed to swipe from a very inebriated man while Bowyn was originally ordering drinks. She then went to go get them some more alcohol to continue to drown their sorrows.

His mother is imprisoned by Aklenroth for a long time up north? And he's not the only child… Kenia thought to herself, alarm bells ringing in her head. Something was quite off with this boy, if he really were a boy. There was something familiar sounding about his story, but she couldn't quite place what it was. All she knew was that it had her feeling very uneasy. She glanced at Malachi briefly, wondering what he was thinking. Was he concerned as much as she was? As far as she was concerned, Zelginn had only proven himself to be a thief, a liar, and an instigator. These were all a recipe for disaster.

"Oh but that is my name, dear Zelginn. I am the Lady Tsarra Kenia Urmicca, I'm known amongst my family as Kenia. However, in the circle of nobles and...admirers, as in Lord Norkas case, I am known as the Lady Tsarra. If you don't believe me, take a look at that golden locket I gave you. My name is engraved on the back." She told him as she gestured to one of the necklaces. Sure enough, if he were to look, the name Tsarra Kenia Urmicca was on it. It was a name she often used when gathering information and she'd built up quite a reputation with it. She'd brought that necklace down just in case he questioned her on it.

He was beginning to try her patience, however, and she needed to be rid of him. He was far too much of a liability and there was still something about him that didn't seem right. She glanced once more to Malachi, waiting for him to put in some input. She was also concerned how he'd look at her if she had to turn to her darker side and dispose of this child. While she didn't wish to do that, she would do so if she felt she had no other choice. Self preservation along with the protection of her family was her first priority always. "Now Zelginn, as much as I appreciate you trying to anyone for your actions, I suggest you stop while you're ahead and do as I say and leave. I have provided you with far more than you deserve and I'm giving you a chance to leave scot free. If you continue to try my patience then we may see just how similar your mother and I really are." With her last words there was a dangerous darkness that crossed over her face. The nice lady was clearly gone now and in her place stood the dangerous and skilled assassin.

Azriel had been looking between all of the men with her, giggling internally as she realized how interesting it must look as she was the only woman in this group. Not only that, but she had taken the lead in walking into this place and finding a spot to relax. Azriel and her men, she liked the sound of that. Her eyes then fell on O’Ner and she followed his gaze as she listened to Xenelith speak. She gazed at the woman dancing and smirked to herself. Was it possible for an undead to become intimate with someone? Well he did have the ability to shapeshift, that could work, couldn't it? ”Here O’Ner, let me help you.” She began as she turned her gaze back to the Madam.

”I think we’d like to enjoy the company of that pretty little thing there.” She told her as she pointed to the woman O’Ner had been watching. She really was quite a beauty and while Azriel would find enjoyment in making O’Ner squirm, perhaps she could also find additional enjoyment. They’d just have to see what the visit brought.

Xenelith also ordered some tobacco and a bottle of the house beverage, which Azriel was pleased with. Just tobacco though? Go big or go home was how Azriel looked at things. ”While tobacco is great and all, I would also like some skaula and perhaps even some ubara.” She told the woman while watching the others out of the corner of her eye, wondering how they’d react with such a request. She had a feeling Xenelith would be on board, but was unsure of the others. Madam Uma nodded and left to go gather their things along with tell the one prostitute to go to them once she’d finished her dance and freshened up.

She looked to Jack, who was visibly upset with being their and it caused her to grin. ”I do apologize Jack, I was not aware you were famous for that in particular. Perhaps some of the things I’ve ordered will help you to relax a bit.” She suggested, quite obviously not really sorry for anything. If he wished to leave and explore the city she wouldn’t stop him, though it may be bad if he went on a killing spree. Right now, however, she really didn’t care too much. He was a big boy, he could do as he pleased. She was going to enjoy herself.

”As for the ball,” she began as she turned back to Xenelith, ”I am not sure what he has planned entirely. Perhaps he wishes to try and draw out some of the rebels? Such a big even full of wealthy people is sure to draw out those looking for supporters, yes? Or perhaps our lord has something else in mind entirely. I am not one to question him too deeply into those matters.” She explained, keeping her eyes open for anyone who might be trying to listen in on the conversation.

Elsea sat silent as the topic took quite a serious turn, listening closely as Elthrael told his story, then of Risa discussing what their goal should be, and finally Kyran’s disagreement with Risa. It was his words that ignited a small fire within her as he spoke of her people. Anger bubbled up within her, but before she could speak the young bear featured girl appeared to take their order. Elsea had also noticed the strange thing that happened with Kyran’s eye, but she was too distracted by other things to question him on it. She focused on a spot on the table as she tried to calm herself when it came her turn to order. ”Go ahead and skip me. I’ve just realized I’m not all that hungry.” She told the girl and then patiently waited for the others to finish ordering.

Once she was gone she finally spoke up, looking at Kyran now with irritation plain on her features. ”Humans NEED to learn how to fight? Nay, they NEED not to learn how to do anything. We did not ask to be here, we did not ask to fight YOUR war. If you force them into anything than you are no better than Aklenroth. I will not stand for anyone forcing anyone into something and if you try I promise you I will fight you until my dying breath.” Her hands were clenched tightly in her lap as she glared at Kyran. She then turned her attention to Elthrael.

”This goes for you as well. You speak of Risa and you try to sway her to use her alleged royal power, but have you stopped to ask her if that’s something she wishes for? How much power will she really hold if she does decide to try? From what I understand there are two fairy kingdoms, aye? Will she hold sway in both kingdoms or will it just he hers? Even then, that is only ONE race she holds sway over and I’m willing to bet that is not enough.” She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment as she tried to regain her composure.

”Kyran does make a valid point on something, though, and that is that if it is to be war we need to mentally prepare for it. Who here knows what a war entails? Who here has truly fought in a war? Have any of you stood on a battlefield? Have you been engaged in a battle where emotions are running high, you’re exhausted and so frightened to the point you can no longer tell friend from foe? Have any of you watched as your friends fight and die around you?” She looked between all of them now, watching for reactions to her words. She thought back to her grandfather when he’d come home from a battle with the English. He was haunted by so many things and often madly spoke of the horrors he’d witnessed. It chilled her to this day seeing him in that state. ”These are the things every one of us needs to prepare for if it is to be war. It will change all of us and I promise you it will not be for the better. There will be things that will haunt you until you die.” She finished and finally fell silent as she let the gravity of everything she just said sink in.

When Brenna had boarded the Avalon Avenger she hadn’t been entirely sure what to expect. She knew life on the ship wasn’t going to prove easy and she’d mentally prepared herself for that. She had a mission and she wasn’t about to let any difficulty stop her from accomplishing her mission. Her sister was still out there, she could feel it deep in her bones and any spell she cast to see her always came up with an interesting result. She could feel her soul was still a part of this world which meant she was alive in some sense, however, every time she peered in on that soul it seemed to be fading. It concerned her deeply and all she wanted was to get to her as quickly as possible. So that was one of the driving factors for her to join this voyage as well as try her best not to make much of a fuss.

She was slightly surprised when the ship came under the control of a new captain a week into their journey. Before that happened, she hadn’t been expected to do much of anything and she merely stayed out of the way of everyone else. She was a quiet little mouse on the ship who would be found sitting somewhere reading one of the many spell books she’d brought with her. Once Captain Sarstina took over, things changed. She was no longer permitted to wear her dresses and before she was able to argue this, the Captain made a very good point. If she were to go overboard there was a high chance that she wouldn’t be able to swim in those dresses. Thankfully she had brought a suitable outfit containing pants that she had planned to wear one they made it to the Isles. It wouldn’t kill her to start wearing it now.

Another change that had been made was the fact that Brenna now had an officer assigned to follow and protect her at all times. This she didn’t even consider trying to argue and actually welcomed it. For one, it wasn’t much different from living back at the castle. She had a personal guard there as well. Another reason she welcomed it, however, was because she knew it would protect her from some of the men. While she hopped none would be stupid enough to try and touch her, she had noticed several leering looks her direction over the last week.

The last change made was the fact that she was now to pull her weight while on this ship. She had no issue with this as she would like to help where she could, but she was unsure of what skills she had that would be useful to anyone. It was the Captain that came up with the suggestion of assisting the Doctor. She had to agree that it was the place she would fit in the most and while she wasn’t skilled in any healing magic, she did know some healing knowledge thanks to her people. So she was gathering some of her books that she knew had some healing remedies in them along with a few supplies when an officer came to inform them they found a woman in the water and the Captain had sent for Brenna. A woman in the water? Could it be Zaleria? No, that’s impossible. She thought to herself before she thanked the man. She turned to her guard as she spoke, ”I just need to drop this stuff off in the infirmary before going to see the Captain.” He nodded before following her towards her destination.

She managed to knock lightly despite all the things she carried before entering the infirmary. ”Doctor Whitewood? Sorry to intrude, but I’m you new assistant and I wanted to…” She began to say as she entered the room, but trailed off as her eyes fell on the siren on the table. ”It’s her…” She mumbled as she stared at the creature for a moment. There was a small moment of terror as she looked at her, just like when she’d seen her in the vision. That vision where she’d watched a man put a letter in a bottle, her sister provide her favorite brooch as well to add, before the bottle was sealed and handed to this woman...no this creature.

The sound of the siren rubbing her face on the pillow slip snapped Brenna out of her daze. She quickly moved to set her stuff down before looking to the Doctor. ”Tell me, how can I help with anything?” She asked as she quickly tied her hair back and then went to clean her hands. She wanted to assist in any way she could, especially if it meant she could possibly ask this creature about her sister.

The motley crew of villains had met up in the city of Roshmi after they were all done with what they could before the ball. Azriel and Umber had both been so kind to inform Xenelith of the ball coming up and then suggested that perhaps they take some time to relax until then. How were a group of villains supposed to relax, though? What in the world could they do to fill their time? Well go to a brothel, of course! Whoever first suggested the idea Azriel wasn’t sure. Perhaps it was her, perhaps it was Xenelith, or perhaps it was someone else. Either way they were all headed towards the Love Lounge for some entertainment.

Azriel pushed open the doors of the brothel, glancing around the dimly lit establishment. There was a smokey haze in the air as well as three half dressed women danced on the stage to some interesting sounding music. There were surprisingly quite a few people in the establishment even at this time of day. A few eyes turned to look at the group and some looked slightly unsettled. Azriel led the way towards a table that was low to the ground and surrounded by pillows. There was already a group of men sitting there with a few women hanging off their arms. They gave her a very confused look before glancing between each other. ”I suggest you move...NOW.” She told them, her voice full of authority. They looked like they were about to protest, but when they saw her sadistic grin as her hand went to her sword. They quickly left the spot and Azriel sat down, patting the spot next to her for someone in her group to join.

It took a moment, but Madame Uma finally approached the group. ”Welcome to the Love Lounge, the finest establishment of it’s kind here in Roshmi. If you don’t believe me just look around. Our employees sell themselves.” She greeted them in a sultry voice, a smirk gracing her lips. ”So what can I do for you?” She asked, ready to provide them with whatever they needed.

”Well boys, what’ll it be?” Azriel asked the others, a grin on her lips.

"I enjoy spoiling you...the crew as well. At least on occasions." Adrielle told Malek with a small laugh as she listened to him about orders at the crew. Although she knew he was merely talking about her singing, truth be told she was probably to lax on them at times. She could be strict when needed and her men knew that, but she also believed that you treat a man by what he's worth and they perform better. Sometimes that meant spoiling and rewarding her crew with thing, which was precisely why she was going to have a celebration that night.

Elenei finally appeared from below deck and made her way to them. She gave the gnomish woman a grin as a welcome. Adrielle wasn't blind, she was well aware of the woman's...affections towards her and would often throw a flirtatious comment or grin her direction every now and then. While she was more interested in men as romantic partners, it didn't stop her from flirting with anyone and everyone no matter their race or gender. She blamed her mother for that trait.

When Malek made mention that they had needed to make a hasty retreat from the cay, her head turned back to her first mate and she stuck her tongue out at him playfully. She was still grinning nonetheless as she looked back towards the sea. ”Aye, we’ll keep all of ya alive. At least for the time being.” She joked as she nodded once more to Malek’s comment, glad the journey was officially underway.

Later that evening…

The sun had slowly began to sink beneath the horizon and after a long day of hard work and sailing, Adrielle decided it was time to give the vast majority of her crew a small break. She often allowed for some celebration in the evenings, but when they started a new journey she liked to make the first night a little bit more than the others. So she had a few men bring up some of the best rum Parlay Cay had to offer from their stores below deck. She knew many would drink so much that they probably wouldn’t remember much in the morning and she was rather alright with that, she may even join them. It was unlikely, though, that she would get black out drunk. She liked to keep at least a small portion of her wits about her.

”Alright ya carousers! As we often do at the beginning of our voyages, I’d like to start our first night in celebration. I do this always as a thank you to all of you, of course, but this time I TRULY mean it. Thank you for following this crazy woman on her crazy journey. Perhaps that makes us all crazy, no?” She began addressing the crew, wanting to make sure they all knew how appreciated they were. She liked to try and keep spirits high. ”Now while most of us can drink as much as we please, there are a few that will be refraining from drinking too much as always. After all, we need some to keep this ship from meeting a terrible end while the rest of us engage in festivities. Isn’t that right Mr. Royston?” She grinned up at the man now on the helm. He replied with his own grin and a resounding ‘aye’. ”I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” She told him as she gave him a wink.

”Now I think that’s enough of my prattling on, don’t you think?” She said with a laugh before she turned to Katurah. ”Alright then kitten, why don’t you show us what you’ve got?” She challenged the giddy looking girl who had brought up her violin.

”Aye, Captain! Umm if anyone knows the songs and wish to sing along please, I invite you to do so.” Katurah replied with a happy grin, though an obvious nervousness was there. She began to play her own rendition of Randy Dandy-O and at first her voice reflected her nervousness, but as soon as another pirate joined her in singing she began to relax. Pretty soon she was showing off her talent and dancing along with some others as she played.

Elsea had thanked Risa for her compliment, feeling a bit better about her choice in dress. All the clothing here was much different from what she was used to back home. Dresses were more revealing and then it was apparently accepted for women to dress in men's clothing. It was an odd concept, but she wasn't opposed to it. At least she felt comfortable in all the clothing.

As they walked towards the restaurant Elsea stayed beside Risa, chattering happily with her and Dionaea. She was thrilled to be getting out of the house for a bit, having felt very confined for the last few days. She was still quite on her guard, however. She was cautious of every person they passed, constantly wondering if they'd see through her disguise. She was actually a little fearful of it. They were all playing such a dangerous game.

They entered the beautiful cafe and were greeted by the most adorable bear man. He was so cheery and it was hard for Elsea not to smile at it all. He seemed to know Risa and Kyran well which was a bit of comfort to her. At least if something were to go wrong she had a feeling this man wouldn't turn them in. She gave a friendly wave back before going to take a seat, plopping down beside Risa. She began looking over the menu and quickly found she was confused by some things. What in the world was an alaberry? She considered asking, but decided against it so as to not look suspicious. She'd merely stick to something that looked somewhat familiar.

Kyran seemed to be in such a fantastic mood and it warmed Elsea's heart to see him like this. For so long they'd been under stress, there had been bickering, and far to many serious situations. It was refreshing to finally have a moment of peace and happiness. "Everything looks so wonderful! I think I'm going to try the potato cakes. They should delightful!" She told them all happily. She then glanced at Elthrael as he spoke and cocked her head to the side a bit. Fluffy...like a woman bearing offspring? What an odd thing to say... She thought to herself.
