Sorrel Liam Cyrus Boris

Time:Dusk
Location:Woods outside of Vie-Et-Mort

The female alpha, Sorrel, had her attention on Liam, noticing that he was an alpha as well. It was quite the curious thing for Sorrel as she wondered if he had a pack or if he was like her, an alpha wolf on his own. Those thoughts were questions for later, however, as they needed to focus on the task at hand. "That sounds perfect. We'll catch them off guard and take out the ones that look to be leading the hunt first. Cyrus will protect the wolf from any that might skip past us. We take them out swiftly and then vacate the area in case any others show up." She explained to both of them, then paused as she glanced up to Cyrus in the tree. "And Cyrus, my love, please try to refrain from any more battle cries until we've taken a few out." She said it in a teasing manner. That battle cry, however, echoed far to the edges of the forest, through to the corners of the beach where Boris was walking home; His ears twitched as he snapped into a sprint.

“You sound like you’re afraid, Sorrel.” Cyrus said in the same teasing manner with a cheeky grin. “Well I guess we wait at this point. Injured wolf, you stay on the ground and act like you are hurt even if you heal; they won’t see me up here right away hopefully.” He crouched down on the branch making sure he was well hidden in the leaves. Cyrus lifted his nose into the air to get a scent trying to see if he could estimate a distance of the vampires. It took a few minutes of sniffing before he looked down at the others. “They are nearby; we should get into position everyone.”

Once Liam had the approval from the other alpha, Sorrel, he nodded and took off to the right, running on all fours keeping close to the trees and brush for cover, his black fur helped keep him camouflaged in the night. The first vampire he found stood little chance, and he was fueled by the rage of finding another wolf so battered down. Liam leapt from the brush, his jaws clamping down on the neck of a vampire, tearing at its flesh and violently shaking the creature. The taste of vampire flesh was repulsive; like cold meat that had lingered long past its expiration date, but he continued gnaw until his teeth scraped against bone and he severed the vampires head. Despite the effort to keep the vampires from Luna, he saw another heading that direction, and again Liam took off in a sprint. Though the vampire was faster than him, effortlessly vanishing from his line of sight, he knew where the vampire was headed; back to Luna.

"These are the Vie-Et-Mort vampires, by the way, these aren’t ordinary vampires.” Luna told them while she curled into a ball. "Be careful. I'll stay here as a distraction for them."

“Vie-Et-Mort does not scare me; I will rip their insides up before they realize what happened to them.” Cyrus said to Luna, his voice monotone, his expression nonchalant. He was unphased by the situation. He was here for a fight and if it was a challenge, it was better in his eyes.

“Remember that fear is a strength in itself.” Sorrel grinned before she took off to the left. She took note to what Luna had said about these vampires, but she hoped that between her and the others they would have enough skill to take them out and if not, well at least she’d die doing something good. It would be something she could accept. So off she ran, her footsteps surprisingly silent on the forest floor. Her eyes scanned the trees while her nose kept locked onto the scent of the vampires.

She soon spotted a vampire, but didn’t see any others near him. She followed him for a moment, waiting to see if she spotted any more, and when she didn’t - she attacked. She went straight for his throat and he wasn’t quite expecting it, or so she thought. He put up a decent struggle, but in the end she managed to tear his throat out. She continued to bite down and tear until his head was torn clean off. What she hadn’t expected was for the second vampire to come barreling into her. The speed and force of the hit had sent her flying through the trees. She stood up, disoriented and aching. She was pretty sure she’d broken a rib or two and she looked down at her arm to see it bleeding. She growled as she looked around for the vampire, ready to kill the bastard. Her head was still spinning, however, so she didn’t smell the vampire when he attacked again until it was too late.

She managed to deflect his first major attack, but that’s when she realized he had a knife. His second attack she was just a bit too slow and he impaled the knife in her left side. It was then that she realized it was made of silver and the burn was excruciating. She let out a screaming howl before wrenching the knife from her side and his grasp. At least she could keep him from stabbing her again with it, but she now had a vampire very intent on killing her.

Liam stopped his pursuit of the vampire as the sound of wolfen scream cut through the air. He paused for a second, unsure if he should continue after the vampire headed towards Luna or towards the sound of the scream. But made his decision swiftly after considering that Cyrus was there with Luna. He ran, sniffing the air for where the scent of blood was strongest. He found Sorrel, bleeding and holding a knife, along with another vampire. A low snarl escaped from the back of his throat as he locked eyes with the vampire, he wanted to make sure this vampire didn’t get a quick death. The vampire had hurt a werewolf, it deserved to feel pain. Sorrel sensed him there, but was too concerned about taking her eyes off the vampire. If she dropped her guard for a second it could be deadly.

“You okay?” Liam asked Sorrel, in a wolf-like telepathy that all werewolves shared, “Wanna give this asshole some payback?” He asked, keeping his eye on the vampire.

She was relieved when she heard Liam's voice in her head. "Yeah I'll be alright." She replied, not sure if it were a lie or not. She could tell the cuts she'd gotten from being knocked were healing quickly and the ribs would take a day or two, but the stab wound was definitely not healing rapidly. She had the damned silver to thank for that. While she was bleeding decently, it wasn't life threatening yet. As long as she bandaged it soon she would be just fine. "Yes please, let's make this fuckers life a living hell." She said, a darkness to her tone that was menacing and a little frightening. She grinned at the vampire which, in her werewolf form, was a bit unsettling. She decided to wait for Liam to make the first move, wanting to follow his lead.

The vampire’s gaze continued to shift from Liam to Sorrel, both alphas blocked his path towards Luna, and no doubt he debated his chances now that a fight was less than evenly matched. But the leech had no options; the vampire would not accept failure, if he ran, he would be pursued, his best shot was to hope he’d injured Sorrel enough to even out the fight. Liam lunged towards the vampire with every bit of speed his wolf form had to offer as the vampire advanced forward as well. The vampire used Liam’s size and momentum to knock the werewolf onto his back, then hit Liam with a swift strike to the muzzle, and during the few seconds Liam was dazed by the hit the vampire sank its fangs into Liam’s neck. The pain only served to make Liam more alert, snapping him out from the daze and using all his strength to shove the vampire off him. As the vampire scrambled to get back on its feet, Liam’s teeth locked around the vampire’s calf like a bear trap, ripping, shaking, and slicing through flesh before crunching down onto bone. The vampire screamed and desperately tried to pull what remained of his calf and ankle through Liam’s teeth, shredding the limb further, until the werewolf finally let go of the vampire’s leg. The vampire stumbled forward, limping, unable to put any weight on mangled and blooded leg.

Meanwhile, Cyrus had caught sight of the vampire Liam let go, closing in and looking at Luna. 'Oh, yes here we go...' He thought as he prepared to jump him. The vampire had made it to Luna and had a blade raised at her and that's when he made his move. Cyrus jumped onto his back, snapped the vampire’s arm and bit his neck. The vampire’s body went limp, but to make sure, Cyrus decided to rip it's head off, throwing it into the woods behind him. "Sorry, for the bloody scene Luna." he said before turning to look if he could see the other wolves.

What he saw was not the others but another vampire with a bloodlust look in his eyes while holding his partner's head. The vampire was suddenly in front of him causing Cyrus to struggle against the oncoming force. ’Holy fuck, you piece of shit get off of me.' He thought as he gained some advantage before pushing him back. That's when the vampire threw something at him. Cyrus's skin burned all over with pain as a pouch of silver dust clouded the place he was standing in. "ARGHHHH!" He screamed and growled as he moved away from the cloud trying to shake the dust off himself while writhing on the ground. He crawled, trying to pull himself out of the silver cloud, when suddenly the sound of cracking bones could be heard, with nothing but a faint cry from the vampire’s mouth. As the cloud of silver dust dissipated, the scene became clear. The vampire was on the ground, and on top of him was a large man - Boris, still only in his white tank top and jean shorts, having leapt from the tree above. As the surface on his forearm was sizzling from the dust, unfazed, he pulled a bold tree branch out of the vampire’s chest which he had torn from the tree he leapt from, and stood back up.

Boris’s gaze remained on the vampire, distracted by the fact that this was the first vampire he’s ever killed. Only some minutes ago he befriended a vampire, and now he’s killed one. Of course it didn’t surprise him that he was able to kill as swiftly as he did, he had been a killer for 30 years without rest, and his ability to kill has not wavered. But the fact that he didn’t hesitate had somehow surprised him. He had heard the howls coming from this direction when he left the beach, and immediately ran into the forest. That’s when he caught onto his alpha’s scent; and something within him activated. The desire to put his life at risk if it meant helping Liam, which drove him to leap toward this vampire as soon as he saw it hurting another wolf. Still distracted, he kept staring at the vampire, as horrific images from his past outlined its body, putting Boris in a trance.

Sorrel had watched as Liam and the vampire went at each other, using this opportunity to move and get behind the bloodsucker in order to flank him. She definitely wasn’t as fast as she typically would be thanks to the injury, but Liam had him pretty well distracted. When he bit the other alpha she felt anger rise in her and she knew this vamp needed to suffer. When the vampire stumbled forward due to his shredded leg is when she pounced on him from behind. Her jaws clamped down on one of his arms as she pulled him to the ground. She promptly pressed a paw on his chest and tore his arm off. This caused him to scream out, but Sorrel didn’t stop there. She moved to the other arm, tearing it off and throwing both limbs far away. He lay there writhing in pain as she now backed off for the moment. “Let him die from our bite.” She said as she impaled the knife that had wounded her in his chest, returning the weapon.

That was when she heard Cyrus cry out and worry came over her for her friend. “Time to get back to the others.” She said with a brief glance to Liam before heading back in the direction of Cyrus and the injured wolf. There in front of her was a man who seemed to have impaled a vampire with a branch. Cyrus also seemed to be brushing something off of him while still looking to be in pain and on the ground. She moved to Cyrus side and looked him over for a moment. Her concern was obvious, but once she assessed that he wouldn’t die she felt a bit better. She then glanced to the others once more. “We need to get out of here before others show up. My car is nearby if we wanted to use that. Just give me a destination and I can drive people there.” She suggested, ready to be out of these woods. She also needed to find a moment of calm to bandage herself.

Liam was more than happy to leave the vampire to die a slow and painful death alone in the woods. He nodded his agreement towards Sorrel as another wolf cried out, he wished there was time to ensure all of these vampires went a similar, slow and painful death, for their crimes against werewolves but leaving this one to send a message would have to do, at least for now. He followed Sorrel back to Cyrus and Luna, and was pleased to see his newest recruit, Boris there as well. Although he wondered why Boris stood still as a man and not as a wolf, he was more than impressed to see that he had killed a vampire as well.

“Boris!” Boris snapped out of his trance looking at the dead vampire when his alpha greeted him with a toothy grin. “It’s good to see you here.” He added, while Liam knew very little about Boris, knowing that he too had heard a werewolf’s call and came to aid them meant that he was an excellent addition to the pack. Boris gave Liam a smile, but as silent as he usually is, did not say anything.

Liam looked back at the other alpha and wondered why she had asked for a destination. Was she keeping her own packs meeting grounds a secret? That made the most sense to him, he’d been to many places where rivalries between packs seemed to take precedent even over that which threatened all wolves. Clearly it would take more than shared bloodshed to earn Sorrel’s trust, but this was a sign of a vigilant leader and a trait he could respect. “My pack’s at the campgrounds, we will protect your friend while she heals, should any vampires try and follow us.” Liam volunteered the information, he kept no secrets from fellow wolves as all that would do is hinder trust, and he sought nothing from other packs except alliances.

"Perfect. Follow me." Sorrel said as she, slightly awkwardly, lifted a blacked out Cyrus up and began heading back the direction of her backpack and vehicle. She reverted back to her human form once she made it to her backpack. Blood was splattered all over her including her pale moonlight blonde hair which made for a stark contrast. She took a brief moment to toss her shirt and pants back on, ignoring the fact they would soon be blood stained, and then pull out a few blankets that she always kept with her for the others, handing them out and wrapping Cyrus in one. She then moved to pick up Cyrus, but it was a bit more difficult now in her smaller frame. "Mind helping me carry him the rest of the way? My cars just over there." She asked as she looked at Liam, her car now in sight in the distance. It would be a bit of a squeeze to fit everyone, but it was definitely doable.

Liam nodded, taking a minute to shift back into his human form. He was bruised, and a more than a little bloody, but most of the blood that coated his skin was not his own. The vampire’s bite however, still bled, and it sure as hell stung, but he knew he’d heal quickly enough. He wasn’t sure the extent of the other’s injuries but his pack was more than used to dealing with battle wounds. Werewolves, after all, couldn’t exactly go to the hospital.

As Liam helped Sorrel carry Cyrus to the car, Boris behind them leaned down toward the unconscious luna, and gently picked her up. He followed them to Sorrel’s car as he gazed around the scene, seeing the other vampires that they have killed. He then glanced down at Luna as he carried her to see her just how injured she was. He had questions, but didn’t feel comfortable enough to ask them in the company of individuals he does not know. So he remained silent.

“We’ve got a former army medic in my pack, he can help fix you up.” Liam said as they got Cyrus into the car.

"Thank you, that would be very much appreciated" Sorrel said as she gave Liam a tired smile after getting Cyrus in the car.

Boris helped lay Luna in the back seat, buckled her in before he spoke to his alpha; “I meet you at the campground.” he said in his thick Russian accent, insinuating that he rather walk home.

In the front seat of the car, Sorrel started it up before glancing back at Cyrus and Luna. She knew both would be fine given time to heal. She wondered what the story was of the female werewolf, how did she come to be chased so viciously by vampires. That would be questions for a later date after everyone had time to rest and heal.

Rose listened as Damien spoke of what happened in Paris, noticing how hard it was for him to talk about it. She couldn’t blame him either after finding out what had happened. ”You mean those assholes fucking turned you in?!” She said in outrage as her fist clenched tightly at her side. She felt anger bubbling up in her at the thought of it along with guilt. Perhaps if she wouldn’t have been a coward and fled she could have stopped them from turning him in. Or maybe she’d have been caught as well and punished. Either way the mix of emotions had her visibly upset and she had a strong urge to hit something. ”They better have gotten in trouble too since they certainly weren’t innocent in it all. They better have fucking lost their magic since they are just as guilty.” She said through gritted teeth before she realized her palm was starting to hurt. She unclenched her fist and looked down to see blood in her palm from her nails digging into it and this calmed her a bit.

”Shit…” She sighed as she stopped and wiped the blood on her shorts. She took a deep breath to calm herself further as she decided to move away from the Paris topic and focus a bit on what he was saying about the Holy Saviors. ”Well if my coven knows anything about the Holy Savior's they sure aren’t saying anything to me, which isn’t surprising. I think they fear that either Violet or I would try to do something about it if we knew since there’s a connection there with our mother.” She shrugged as she looked up at him. ”Either way it may not hurt to ask them about it and see. If they don’t know then they definitely need to be warned. Thank you for coming to warn and help us.” She was genuinely grateful for it, not wanting to see the Holy Saviors succeed.

”Well this is my street, I should probably get going as my sister and cousin are waiting on me. It’s really nice to see you again Damien." She stood on her tip toes and kissed his cheek before giving him a soft smile and turning to walk away. After a few steps she paused and looked back at him as a thought crossed her mind. "Umm...maybe I can help find a way to get your magic back to you...if you wanted that is." As she spoke the offer she silently cast an empathy spell. She wasn't sure shy she did it, perhaps it was still the paranoia that he was upset with her for leaving or maybe she just was curious. Either way she'd done it, learning how to cast that spell silently not too long ago and wanted to test her ability a bit. The results of her spell weren't entirely what she'd expected. She felt his anger and something else...resentment? So he was upset with her? The thought and feelings made her a bit sick, but she did her best to keep from revealing anything to him. She was confused as he seemed to be treating her so nicely, yet his inner feelings were different. The smallest hint of fear came over her and her instincts were telling her she needed to get home, but she kept up her friendly facade.

Elsea couldn’t help but agree with Dionaea that Risa shouldn’t need to talk about what happened between her and Elthrael if she didn’t feel comfortable with doing so. She could pretty well imagine what had taken place, though. It was probably for the best if Kyran didn’t know all the gritty details as she had a feeling he might lose it. She wasn’t blind, she could see that he cared for Risa just a tiny bit more than the rest of them. Whether it was because he had certain feelings for her or she was just the one he was closest to Elsea couldn’t know for sure without prying and she wasn’t about to do that.

Dio getting up and going to the bathroom had pulled her out of her thoughts and she watched the girl briefly. She didn’t look too great and Elsea felt bad for her. She’d been going through quite a lot and Elsea couldn’t imagine what all was going through her mind. She was the one she’d talked to the least over the last week as she wanted to let her have her space. Now, however, maybe it was time for things to change a bit. So when they left to go shopping, Elsea placed herself beside Dio as they walked, giving her a friendly smile.

It didn’t take long to get to the first shop and Risa whispered for her to look after Dionaea. She gave the young fairy a reassuring smile and nod. She could tell Risa needed a moment alone and so she linked arms with Dio as she looked at her. ”I’m quite excited for this ball as I’ve never been to something like this or worn anything so nice. I don’t know where to start! I’d be ever so grateful if you helped me find a stunning dress.” She said to the girl as she led her into the shop. She was quite shocked at all the intricate dresses that were in there and realized that what she said was true, she really had no idea where to start with these sorts of things.

Torvi had been expecting Bowyn to not be as friendly as that was a rather rare thing for him to display. What she wasn’t expecting was to be caught in the middle of an insult competition. She did smirk a little at Bowyn’s obnoxious chewing and gave him an amused shake of her head. She could understand why he was acting the way he was, yet at the same time she saw no harm in learning all they could out of these two and if that meant tolerating what he considered rudeness then she would.

She hadn’t a moment to get a word in when Little Blue began speaking and tossing back just as much snark as Bowyn had. While Torvi found it somewhat amusing, what she didn’t like was the stares they were beginning to get. People always seemed to become interested once a fight was looking like it was about to break out. Each person she caught she gave them a harsh look to tell them to mind their own business. All quickly looked away and she was slightly satisfied, however she needed to put a stop to the two at the table.

”Alright that is quite enough.” She said as she gave both stern looks. Unexpectedly the ground trembled just a tiny bit. She took a moment to glance around and see if anyone really noticed, but thankfully none had quite seemed to realize that it came from her. She took a breath to calm herself as she glanced at Bowyn briefly with a tiny bit of alarm. ”Anyways, how about we start over? I’m Torvi, it’s nice to meet you Little Blue. Please excuse Bowyn here, he has a hard time trusting new people which is understandable with the times we live in.” She explained as she gave the two women a smile while at the same time looking to Bowyn and giving him a look as if to say ‘play nice’.

”So are you guys from Roshmi?” She was trying to make some friendly conversation with the two.

Rose looked at the flowers in a bit of surprise as she slowly took them from him. ”Thanks.” She said as she looked at the white flowers, finding it quite curious as to why he chose petunias. They were pretty flowers, but definitely weren’t some of her favorites. Perhaps it was all they had wherever he got them? She found that a bit hard to believe and a small, paranoid part of her wondered if he chose them because they symbolized something. Perhaps she’d look into it later, for now she just gave him a small grin.

Concern filled her as he mentioned that he was actually looking for her coven. She pushed it aside, however, as he suggested they keep moving. She simply nodded in agreement as she began walking once more. He wasn’t wrong, night time could be quite dangerous for those who didn’t know all of what liked to creep around in the night. She listened as Damien spoke, confusion settling into the features of her face. So many questions rattled around in her head at the unloading of all this information. It definitely frightened her to think that the Holy Saviors were possibly going to hit Ember Grove hard and her first instinct was to let Violet know, but she stopped herself. Perhaps this was something she should go to the coven about instead just in case Violet tried to do something crazy. That was something she’d have to think on a bit more before deciding what to do.

”Woah hold on. Rewind just a little bit. What happened in Paris that got you sent back to Portland? And what do you mean you got what you deserved?” She asked him, deciding to start there even though she felt like she had a million other questions. She wanted to know what happened after she’d left Paris as she’d just assumed that they had no sacrifice for that night and Damien would just find someone else to bring him one at a later date. Obviously something else happened, though.

”Also, how have you found out all this info about the Holy Saviors?” This was another burning question as it didn’t seem like that was easy information to find out. She hadn’t even heard anything about this from Violet and she was good at discovering these kinds of things.

The information Umber had graced upon her about their little visitor was quite the intriguing one. She was thankful to him as it caused her to be a bit more alert and realize things weren’t always as they seemed. Something about it, though, was funny to her and she couldn’t keep the giggle from escaping her lips. Looking at Zelginn, he appeared to her as if he were made out of plastic or rubber, as if his appearance were fake and this was just silly to her. In all fairness, though, O’Ner appeared the same in his demi-human form, but that soon dissipated as he reverted to his skeletal form and left. A small sadness fell over her as he did so as something in her worried he wasn’t having fun. Wait, why was she worried about someone other than herself? That was just silly.

That’s when all that Zelginn had said seemed to register in her mind at once. Before that she’d just been giggling away. ”Fun is all relative to each person, don’t you think? While yes, it is fun to torture other beings, it can sometimes get old. Then you have to find fun somewhere else. This here is fun to me, taking these different things and seeing silliness such as yourself.” She said with a grin as she pointed at Zelginn. ”Sweet Xeney is finding fun with that lady, O’Ner doesn’t know how to have fun, and Jack…” She looked over at the human beside her and realized he’d eaten quite a few of the skaula mushrooms.

”Oh my...Jack, my dear, perhaps we should stop eating all those and find you something else to eat if you’re hungry?” She suggested as she gently grabbed his hand, keeping him from eating another. She pried it out of his grasp and set it down before looking at one of the whores at the table.

”Fetch us some food, whatever you think is the best thing here. Don’t come back without anything.” She told the woman who nodded and left them. She wasn’t even sure what kind of food they might have here if any, but it was clear that if there wasn’t food on the table soon Azriel would be a bit unhappy. So even if the whore had to run to the cafe down the street, food would be provided.

Azriel then looked back to Zelginn, grin in place once more. ”Oh yes, I’m sure Umber will have loads of fun. Enough about him, though, I wish to know more about you! So tell me, little demon, how old are you really? Because you said it yourself, things aren’t always quite as they seem.” She asked, one last giggle escaping her lips as she awaited his answer.

A look of pure shock and horror crossed over Elsea’s face as Risa explained what had happened earlier that morning. Then anger began to take over and part of her wished she wouldn’t have extinguished the fire she’d started in his lap. ”What that little good for nothing…” She began, trying to find the right words to fit what she was feeling. ”MHAC NA GALLA!” She ended up shouting in Gaelic, but then took a breath as she realized she may attract some unwanted attention. ”Risa I’m so sorry he did that to you, but if you can please try to put him out of your mind. He’s nothing but a liar. He did the same damn thing to me. He’s nothing but a skirt-chasing blaggard.” She told her, calmer than before, but the anger was still evident. She took a bite of her food, trying to show Risa that her appetite hadn’t been ruined at all, but it seemed to be quite the angry motion as she grumbled a few more curse words.

After a few moments she felt even calmer and decided to speak again. ”Let’s go shopping and forget all about that deceiving fairy shall we?” She gave Risa her brightest and happiest smile after having finished her meal. She also took a brief moment to glance at Kyran, trying to give him a look that pleaded for him to keep his cool as best he could. She knew she had lost it and wouldn’t be surprised if he did as well, if not more so, but right now they needed to get Risa in a better mood.

The night was getting slightly chilly and Rose couldn’t help but pull her jacket closer around her. The slightest bit of unease tickled at the back of her mind, feeling as if someone was watching her. How night time could cause quite the paranoia. She wasn’t afraid of the dark, but even those who loved the night would admit that there were things in the shadows that made even the slightest fear rise in you. At the same time it made you feel silly, especially when the figure you saw really ended up being a rock or the pile of laundry you’d left on the chair in your room. Still Rose couldn’t shake the unease she felt and found herself glancing around every once and awhile.

She noticed someone walking towards her, but she tried not to think much on it. Lots of people walked these streets, less at night but it wouldn’t be unusual to come across someone. She pulled out her phone to change the song when the familiar voice hit her ears. She looked up quickly and her eyes met those of her ex boyfriend. ”Damien?...” She said as a flood of emotions hit her in rapid succession. First was shock at seeing him here, then came fear as she unthinkingly took a step back, but what she hadn’t expected was the tiny amount of happiness that she felt in seeing him.

Last time she had seen him they had both been heading down a very dark road. Things had been a little rocky between them. He had become obsessed with finding a way to bring his brother back and with that obsession came some major personality changes. Well maybe they weren’t changes if she were being honest, but it more amplified the negative personality traits he’d had. She began recognizing his manipulation of others and herself in ways that began to scare her. There may have even been some possessiveness of her that he was showing and she began to long for an easy way out. She’d be lying if she said her love for him had disappeared, in truth it didn’t, however, she began to realize that her own mental health was more important. When he began making plans to use a human sacrifice in a ritual to bring his brother back is what triggered the beginning of the end. He had instructed her to find the human to use and she began to desperately find a way out. It came in the form of her father requesting her and her sister to come home. She took it, didn’t say a word to Damien, and left the day the ritual was to happen.

Now here he was, standing right in front of her holding...were those flowers? She glanced at the flowers for a moment and then back to him, confusion clear on her face. He didn’t look angry with her. This brought the slightest hint of relief, but the worry was still there that he was upset. She found herself, despite everything, now stepping towards him and throwing her arms around him in a tight hug. ”How...What….When did you get here?” She asked him, finally letting go after a long moment. She looked up at him again, the smallest smile gracing her lips.

Once they were upstairs, Kenia moved to strip off the bed linens that the humans had slept in. She then proceeded to throw them into the fireplace. ”Cora could you light those on fire for me pretty please?” She asked the girl, wanting to get rid of as much of their scent as she could. That’s when a thought occurred to her, an idea that might be a little crazy, but could protect them in the long run. She’d need to make sure things were prepared before that happened, though, and she had to inform her father.

”As for what to pack make sure you pack all the clothes you’ve worn over the last week, we need to minimize the scent we leave behind. Then also grab any valuables you want to bring. When you’re done meet me downstairs in the foyer, you’ve got ten minutes. I’m also gonna need your help with something once you’re down their Cora.” With that she left to go grab her own stuff from her room along with any valuables she could sell to make sure they had enough money for things.

Meanwhile downstairs, Nym looked at Malachi in relief. ”Thank you Malachi, now go. We need to all be gone from here within twenty minutes.” And with that he left the male elf to go grab his own things. He would also instruct the servants to stay behind and care for the house, though he warned them that someone would surely come. While they promised to protect them, he didn’t want them doing anything that could risk their lives more than they were already. It was for this reason that he refused to tell anyone where he was going and he would even conceal the direction he would head. The less people knew the better.

Kenia came flying down the stairs, instructing every servant she came across to leave swiftly. They all needed to be out by the time they all left. She looked to her father, a sadness in her eyes. ”I’m going to do something to help keep us from being tracked. Can you make sure all the servants have gotten out?” Nym had been setting down his stuff when his daughter found him. He looked at her confused for a moment, but then the realization struck. He finally nodded and did as she said, realizing her plan would be safer for the servants than what his original plan was.

Kenia proceeded to gather all the oil for the lamps in her house and pour trails throughout the rooms, leading to the most flammable things. She even made a trail up the stairs to the rooms they had stayed in, knowing that anyone who saw what she was doing would now understand. She got to the hall with the portraits and took on brief moment to take a look at her children before bidding them farewell. These portraits had to burn with the rest of the house. She pulled that portrait along with the portrait of her parents off the wall and dragged them out to the foyer.

Within the next twenty minutes everyone was downstairs, ready to leave. Nym gave his final farewell to everyone before cloaking himself in his light magic, disappearing from view and not allowing anyone to see the direction he took. Kenia knew it was time to enact her plan and she turned to Corvina. ”Alright Cora, time for some training. I need you to light all of this on fire. Go crazy, don’t hold back. Show us what you can do. Destroy this house.” She instructed the girl, pointing to the portraits first and then the rest of the house. She then made sure everyone was outside and left the girl to unleash hell.

Once Cora had finished her task, Kenia decided to do her best to cloak their group from view as they left. She took one last look at the burning house before leaving it all behind. She knew that this would for sure mark her as a traitor, but she was willing to accept it at this point. This was her life now and she was linking her life to these three people with her. She would do what it took to protect them.

She was only able to keep up the illusion until they were out of the wealthy district, then she had to drop it from her and Malachi. She kept it on the two humans, though, more as a protection, but it took all of her focus. So the walk through the city was a rather quiet one.

They eventually stopped to find a bite to eat, making quick work of the meal before continuing on to find a place to stay. They were now all settling into a room at the small inn they found, Kenia feeling exceptionally exhausted and a little paranoid. She had been keeping her eyes open for any danger the entire way here, specifically watching for the fox boy. What she really wanted to do was get a drink, but it was too early in the day for that still. She needed to keep her senses about her for now until she was certain they were semi safe.

At the same time she wanted to try and help everyone relax a bit, knowing that the start of their day had been incredibly stressful. The humans deserved a little bit of fun. Perhaps that’s why she decided to suggest what she would. ”Well who wants to test out the elf ears a bit more and maybe have some fun exploring the city? We could go shopping, buy some new clothes if you all wanted?” She gave them all a smile, trying to lift their spirits a little. She hoped that keeping busy with something would also help distract her from her mind. The instant they settled down and did nothing is when she’d start thinking of her father and the dark thoughts would creep in. She had to keep that from happening.

Rose had nodded at Rachel, deciding on just the house red as it was the first bottle of red she found. She poured her a glass and passed it to the woman, scanning her bracelet to start her tab for her. After that she served a few more drinks and found a moment to take a break and look at her phone. She saw a message from her sister, opened it, and read it. She couldn’t contain her giggle as she swiftly texted her back.

You’re just jealous that you don’t get to hear all the creative pick up lines that I do.

She hit send and then proceeded to close her eyes, reaching out for her sister telepathically. She wasn’t sure if she’d be able to reach her this far away, but she always liked to test it out. As they got older their strength in those things seemed to get stronger and stronger. So she decided it wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot from this distance. She focused in, playing the scene of the guy who earlier tried hitting on her. She knew that Violet would get a kick out of it if she were able to see it. When she finished she smiled just a tiny bit to herself before getting back to work.

She watched the man from earlier who had said his name was Dylan mingle with a bunch of the other groups in the bar. When he started drinking others drinks is when she began debating on stopping him, yet at the same time she felt like at that point he would deserve whatever he got. Besides she was rather busy and had other people she needed to babysit. When the next thing she knew Viktor was talking to her, telling her that he was gonna pay for the new guys drinks. ”Whatever you say boss.” She said as she cleared out the guys tab. She found it quite interesting that he couldn’t remember his name right away and it made her a bit suspicious. She kept that to herself, however, deciding there was no sense in making a fuss.

That’s when Kyran showed up which Rose was glad for as her shift was due to be over soon. Tonight was her early night at the bar and she was actually going to make it home at a decent hour. She was glad too as she was starving and she hoped that Violet was making dinner. While there was food here she could eat, it could get boring after awhile of having the same things all the time. Besides, Violet was a good cook though Rose suspected that part of it was some sort of spell she figured out how to use to make food delicious. Of course she would sometimes tease her sister about that just to try and get a small rise out of her.

She gave Kyran a smirk as he approached and then promptly insulted a group of drunkards who flipped him off. It made her chuckle a bit and shake her head. ”You know Kyran, even though they won’t attack you in here because the respect Viktor and Katya, it doesn’t mean they won’t try to beat the shit out of you once you leave.” She told him teasingly as she cleaned a glass.

It was at that moment that a new face approached the bar and Rose couldn’t help but find it funny that they had two new faces in one night. Sure new faces weren’t completely uncommon, but you could go days without seeing someone new walk into the bar. Tonight just seemed to be the night of newbies. She moved over towards him, taking a quick glance at the blonde haired man’s bracelet and then at him again. He was young looking and seemed to be a bit exhausted. Even though she was leaving soon she figured she could at the very least get this guys order started and then pass him off to Kyran.

”Sure thing hun, just let me scan your wristband and get things going for you then I’ll probably pass you over to Kyran if that’s okay? I’m about to leave for the night, but he’ll take wonderful care of you.” She told him as she went to scan the wristband. Once she’d done that she went and filled a glass with a coke. She set it in front of him while grabbing a menu that, unbeknownst to most, was specifically catered to werewolves. While it looked as if it were no different than any other menu, if one paid close enough attention they would realize that the entire menu consisted purely of meat dishes. She set it down in front of him before speaking again. ”These are our options for those that are starving as they’re all pretty large portions, though I would highly suggest the pot roast as it’s one of our most popular dishes. So go ahead and take a look then you can tell Kyran what you want and he’ll get it for you asap. Also welcome to Ember Grove.” She told him with a small grin before walking out from behind the bar.

She approached Kyran and the others after having grabbed her backpack. ”I’m leaving that young man to you, my dear Kyran, and I’m headed out. I shall see everyone tomorrow night.” She told them, instructing Kyran to go take care of the newcomer. Then with that she headed out the door and began her walk home. She could have driven her car, but they didn’t live too terribly far from the bar and Rose oftentimes enjoyed walking home in the cool night air. It was refreshing and allowed her time to herself. She did pull her phone out to let Violet know that she was headed home, however, just in case something were to happen to her on her way there.

Headed home now, see you in twenty.

She hit send and then pulled out her headphones, putting them in her ears. She found her Spotify app and opened up a playlist, hitting shuffle. A song started playing and softly Rose began singing along to it as she walked.
