Brenna had remained in the infirmary for the vast majority of the day, doing her duty of helping Solomon out and also trying to find out any information she could about her sister. Unfortunately it wasn’t too terribly much other than the fact that last time the creature had seen her she’d been alive. This alone brought Brenna more comfort than one would think as it meant that her senses were correct and her magic hadn’t failed her. She just prayed that she would continue to survive until they could get there.

She spent some time working on some potions as well, things she thought would be useful in coming times. She even made some offensive potions along with filling some pouches with ingredients she could use to cast spells. She would be glad she did such a thing as well when she began to hear something happening above them. ”Do you hear that?” She asked as she moved towards the door of the infirmary. She stared at the door inquisitively before slowly opening it. She remained silent, trying to listen to what the noise was. After a moment she realized that it was the sound of swords clashing and gun fire. ”Something’s wrong.” She said as she turned back to look at the group in the room. Her guard began to move towards her and listened out the door as well.

“We’re under attack! Stay here Princess!” He said before shoving past her, hand on his sword as he headed up to the main deck. Brenna stared after him for a moment, a little perturbed with the order as she could be of help as well.

”Like hell I will.” She said as she spun around and grabbed some of the potions and herbs she’d concocted earlier. She also grabbed her sword she’d set of the side when she’d come in to keep out of the way. Now, however, it was time to put it to good use. She was trained with the sword so she could fight just as well as any of the men. On top of it she could use magic to try and help as well. So she looked over to Solomon and grinned coyly. ”I’m going to go see if anyone needs to be brought to the infirmary.” She told him before disappearing up the stairs.

Brenna had thrown herself into the fray, having been surprised by how many enemies there were aboard the ship. Many were surprised to see her up there fighting as well, but they were even more surprised to see that she was able to wield a sword rather effectively. One man she had quickly cast a spell using a few herbs to cause fear, making him jump overboard while another she made believe he was drowning which caused him to drop his guard, allowing the man he was fighting to end him swiftly. Still things were looking a bit bleak, at least until they saw another ship. At first she was concerned that it was another pirate ship, but as it drew closer she saw it was an ally. They just had to hold out until they arrived.

She watched as a man came up behind a young dark elf that Brenna remembered hearing was named Sylas perhaps. He was about to thrust his blade in his back and so she moved quickly, deflecting the man’s blow. He took a step back and glared at Brenna, giving her the opportunity to pull out a bit of powder. She chanted an incantation before blowing it in the man’s face. He dropped to the floor unconscious. She turned to the dark elf. ”Are you okay?” She asked while at the same time noticing the ally ship had made it to them and was joining in the fight. With their help this battle would soon be over. Brenna noticed, however, the body of their captain lying still on the deck and her heart ached a bit. ”Oh no…” She whispered, wondering what they would do now.

Bowyn had a good point on going to a busy market would be a good way to test out the ears, see if anyone really took notice especially if guards were roaming around. At the same time if they failed her it may be a bit more difficult to escape unless she could use the crowds to her advantage. She would have to find away to disappear into the crowd for that to work and she wasn’t entirely confident in her sneaking ability. It would be worth a shot though. ”Fancy dresses you say? You really do know how to persuade a girl.” She said to him playfully with a grin before taking another drink. She chuckled a bit as well as he informed Boreas that there would be mice all over the streets. She couldn’t understand what the bird had said, but from Bowyn’s response she could figure it out.

A voice from beside her had caught her off guard and she turned to glance at the two women. Two elven women? She thought to herself, eyeing them for a moment longer before looking to Bowyn. She wondered what his thoughts were on them, though she knew he wasn’t really fond of elves. So she was about to suggest they make their exit when the one woman greeted them. She looked at Bowyn with the slightest hint of alarm as her initial thoughts went to thinking that they’d been discovered. Perhaps she was being overly paranoid, but she’d rather be that than underestimate someone. That alarm quickly turned into curiosity as the woman spoke about what had happened in the market. Perhaps they could get some useful information out of these two women.

”Oh?” Torvi questioned, glancing over at Belle again as she took another sip of her mead. ”We’ve been here for awhile so we hadn’t heard. That sounds quite scary. Did the perpetrators get caught?” She asked nonchalantly, but inside she was quite curious to know what these women knew.

Azriel was slightly disappointed that the only reaction she had gotten from taunting Xenelith was a glare. She had been hoping for some sort of outburst, yet at the same time she applauded him for having the self control. That was definitely a good quality to have in someone who lead others. Which was also why she didn’t like to lead others as her self control was lacking in certain areas.

She grinned as she picked up some ubara and leaned over to Jack. ”Here you should really try some of this. I think you would enjoy it. I’ll take some with you if you want.” She said with a smirk as she held it out to him. It would be quite interesting to see how he was on the strange lust inducing drug. Her attention was quickly pulled away from Jack, however, as Xenelith spoke about the light elf governor.

”Oh? That is quite curious. I wonder what that self-important prick has planned.” She wondered out loud, thinking about it. What business would he even have here in Roshmi? Why didn’t he just stay up in his palace? She found herself grinning at Xenelith now, wondering what he had planned for the governor. ”Well whatever you want to about him, Xeney, you can count me in. I do enjoy making light elves lives hell.” She said right before she decided to take some of the skaula instead of the ubara.

She’d watched O’Ner leave, but what she wasn’t expecting was for him to actually take her advice and shapeshift. ”Well, well, well, would you look at that. The skeleton took my advice.” She said with a giggle as she drank some more of the wine. She was quite impressed, but that was until a small child approached them. She at first was shocked to see him there, who in the world lets a child into a brothel?! If she found out they would certainly be in trouble. Not only for letting a child in, but for the fact that the child was interrupting their fun. She would slowly carve the flesh off of their backs and revel in their screams.

The little one seemed to be addressing Umbar and calling him Lord Norkas for some reason. Who just walks into a place and walks up to someone just assuming they’re someone? And boy, oh boy, was this child a loud mouth! She wished he would just stop talking. Maybe she could cut out his tongue, that would surely help silence him. He could still scream, though, she supposed. Maybe cutting his vocal cords would be a better idea. The thoughts mixed with the alcohol and drugs had her smiling and the words weren’t exactly registering right away. It wasn’t until she heard the word ‘humans’ when she focused in on the words. What would this brat know about humans?

She looked at Zelginn skeptically, some of the things he was saying causing for some questions to cross her mind. How would someone so young know what humans smelt like unless he’d come across them before? That and he’d just openly admitted to being a thief, how much merit did a thief's words really hold? It made her really suspicious of the boy as she looked to Umbar who spoke, hoping he sensed her suspicion and understood that she wanted him to be cautious. Last thing they needed was for Umbar to walk into a trap set by the enemy. At the same time she wasn’t ready to end her fun and the hallucinations were beginning to set in. While she knew she should probably go with her friend, she also knew she’d be more of a danger right now. So she’d stay and continue enjoying herself. Speaking of which, she looked back to Zelginn and giggled a bit to herself.

”Thank you, little one, for delivering the message to Lord Norkas. Here, take this as a gift.” She said as she held out some skaula for him.

Sorrel hadn't had to wait too long before Cyrus got there. She'd spent the time waiting exploring social media which was still something interesting to her. There had been so many technological advancements since she was born and it was amazing. She wished her grandmother were still around to see it all. She would have loved it, having always been the one to push her old coven into discovering things. The thought of her grandmother always brought her a twinge of sadness, but she tried to block it out. There was no point in getting sad tonight.

She looked up when Cyrus pulled up and grinned at him. "Hey!" She said in greeting as she waved to him before throwing her phone into her backpack. "It was a good day, but it was much busier than I had expected. I may need to find some extra help here soon." She said with a grin as she linked her arm around his before heading towards the trail.

"I brought a backpack in case we wanted to put our belongings in it before the run." She told him, trying to find the best way to say such a thing. She didn't want to say to put their clothes in as that sounded a bit awkward. While Sorrel didn't care who saw her in her natural state, she knew it made some people feel uncomfortable and she didn't wanna make Cyrus uncomfortable in any way. "We can leave it near a tree and-" She was cut off by the sound of a desperate howl.

She froze in place for a minute as she tried to locate the direction the sound came from. She then turned to look at Cyrus, alarm and concern present in her eyes. "That sounded like someone in trouble. I don't know about you, but I feel like I need to help if I can." She explained as she slipped her arm from his, knowing she needed to be swift. She kicked her shoes off and then her pants and shirt quickly followed as she shoved things in the backpack. Soon enough she had tossed the backpack aside and transformed into her werewolf form. She began sniffing and running towards the cry for help, glancing back briefly to see if Cyrus was following.

It wasn't long before she picked up the scent of another werewolf as well along with blood and vampires. She came across the sight of one werewolf nudging another unconscious werewolf and Sorrel was immediately alarmed. She eyed them for a second before rationalizing that the bigger threat was the vampires. She looked to the forest briefly before turning back to the male werewolf. "We're here to help. Those vampires will be upon us soon and I fear it may be a bit of a fight. I can circle around and flank them if we think that would be best?" She explained to him, knowing they needed to decide quickly on what to do.

Rose found it quite interesting the wording he used to give her his name. She glanced sidelong at him briefly before entering the information and then grabbing a small scanner to link his bracelet to his tab. ”A job that pays well here in Ember Grove? You must be working for the government or something then!” She said jokingly with a small laugh as she pointed at his bracelet. ”I need to scan you bracelet to link you to the tab.” She told him, waiting patiently to scan it.

Once she scanned it she moved back to the computer to make sure things were in order:

Name: Dylan
ID: H00005632408
Status: Open

Once she was satisfied she added another drink as he requested it before moving back over and taking the glass. ”Well if I’m being honest this is the place to have the most fun in this town. Other than this there’s the mall, the beach, and Lover’s Lake. That’s about it though, this is a small town after all.” She said as she poured the amber liquid. Normally she would put fresh ice in the glass, but he downed the last drink so quickly she didn’t see a point yet. ”Also, word of advice. Don’t let Viktor over there see you messing with that bracelet otherwise he might think that you lied about your age or you’re trying to skip out on your bill.” She said as she gave him a smirk before setting the glass down.

Rachel had approached the bar, greeting her and Rose gave her a nod. ”Hey Rachel, things are fine. Same old, same old. What can I get ya tonight?” She said to the woman as she moved back to the computer. As she did so, she noticed a tiny spectral bird flying through the door and keeping high to the ceiling so as not to be noticed by others. It disappeared almost as quickly as it came and a message appeared on the computer screen from Felix. It quickly disappeared as well and she found the contents of the message quite curious. She hadn’t seen any new warlocks in town yet, but at the same time she did try to keep to herself with most things. She mostly only saw new people if they came into the bar.

Elsea hadn’t been able to contain her giggle at Elthrael’s reaction to her stunt as it was just how she’d expected him to react. Yes perhaps her actions weren’t the best and a little on the cruel side, but he was acting just as cruel and in an uncalled for manner so she only thought it fair. She ignored his next words, instead smirking at him and waving mockingly as he decided to leave. If he insisted on being cruel to her and Kyran than they didn’t need him around anyways, at least that’s how she felt.

She was a little surprised when Risa tried to stop him, glancing over at her just to watch the sadness overcome her. She felt a little bad, feeling like her actions had contributed to her sadness in a way. She began to silently worry that she was upset with her now and had an urge to find out if that were the case. She waited for a moment though as she looked down at the food served to them, debating on what to say. When she looked back over at Risa, however, she saw that her eyes were watery and it broke Elsea’s heart. ”Oh love! What’s the matter?! What happened?!” She asked as she gently put her hand on Risa’s shoulder out of concern. Worry was apparent on her features.

Kenia silently thought of Malachi's words on how the child had smelt humans, this concerning her even more. How would he know what humans smelt like if he hadn't smelt them before? Either he had either already encountered humans and in that case where were they or he wasn't a child at all and much older than they assumed. Whichever it was it wasn't good for them. She looked over to Rei and Corvina as they entered, giving Rei a small smile as he offered to help. "Thank you for the offer Rei, but I think we may have more pressing matters." She said before glancing back at her father.

"I fear my daughter is correct, it seems we may have all been compromised. I think it is time to depart, all of us." Nym explained as he looked between everyone. As he said all of them, Kenia realized he meant himself as well and a sadness overcame here. She was forcing her father out of his home...again. Something inside her broke a little as she set the broom down and moved to him.

"But Papa, where will you go?" She asked him, fighting back the tears that wanted to make an appearance. Nym smiled down at his daughter as he placed his hands on her shoulders.

"I'm afraid it will be safer for everyone if I don't know where you guys will go nor do you know where I am off to. Fret not, though, as we will see each other again one day." He told her and she realized this almost sounded like a final farewell. A few years finally escaped as the threw her arms around him and hurried her face in his chest, hiding the tears from everyone. He kissed her on the top of the head before releasing her. "Now go, collect the essentials you all will need and be swift about it. We must depart as soon as possible." He told her and everyone else there.

Kenia stepped back towards Malachi and was surprised when Cora hugged her. She glanced at Malachi for a brief second with her slightly tear stained face, shock apparent, before returning the hug to Cora. "No problem Cora, I will do whatever I can to protect you." She said softly to her and was a little surprised at herself for saying such a thing. "Now come on, I need you and Rei to help me quickly pack what we need." She said as she lead the two humans upstairs.

"Malachi may I speak to you for a moment?" Nym began, trying to stop Malachi briefly before he went to pack as well. He waited till the others were out of earshot before continuing. "Thank you for putting up with her, I know she's not the easiest to get along with sometimes. The loss of her children and betrayal of her husband has changed her, but I know that deep down there's still great good in her. She just needs someone to break through those walls and I think you and those humans might be the ones to do that." He explained as he gave Malachi a grateful smile.

"I do have a favor to ask of you, however. Watch out for her for me? I know that is a lot to ask and I will never hold it against you if something were to happen to her, but it'll make this old man feel better to know that she'll have someone there for her." He knew that what he was asking wasn't an easy thing and he wouldn't blame Malachi for refusing, but he felt he needed to at least try asking.

Rose hadn't been there at work for too terribly long yet, perhaps a half hour or so when the influx of people began to increase. As the sun went down they always got busier as the monsters liked to come out and play. This thought caused her to chuckle to herself a bit as she realized to some she would be considered one of those monsters. Perhaps she was a monster, but that was for an entirely different reason that she didn't want to think about at the moment. She needed to focus on the task at hand and that was making sure the customers got served.

She looked up at Katya as she instructed her to go take care of the Hells Angels seated over in the corner. "Sure thing Katya, but don't blame me when the young ones get a verbal lashing if they make their usual comments." She said in a teasing manner as she grabbed her notepad and a pen before heading over to the table. She watched two of the younger guys nudge each other as they saw her coming over and she knew what would be coming. It wasn't uncommon for some of the younger ones to try and hit on both Rose and Katya and while Rose found it mildly annoying, she could also find humor in it at times. She liked to see what they came up with as some were more creative than others.

"What can I get you boys?" She asked them as she readied the pen on her notepad. The one young man smirked as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Haven't we met before? Or was I just dreaming?" He asked her and it took everything in Rose to keep from rolling her eyes. That was the line he chose? How pathetic.

"Hmm I think we have actually. Where was it though?" She began to respond as she tapped the pen on her lips, feigning thought. She then held up the pen as if to say 'aha'. "Oh yes, I remember now! I'm also the receptionist at the STD clinic. How's that rash coming along?" She exclaimed as she gave him a smirk of her own. The others at the table burst out laughing as he looked mortified.

"Come now Rose, go easy on the poor boy. He just joined and he's foolish." One of the older men said while still laughing and grinning at her. Rose couldn't help but chuckle a little herself as well.

"Well tell him to work on his pick up lines, that one was awful. Now drinks anyone?" They all rattled off their orders which she jotted down then head over to put them in the computer. Shortly after she had delivered the drinks Katya had her take over the bar for a bit which she happily did.

A man approached the bar, one she hadn't seen before in town which was a curious thing. She was slightly cautious of him as sometimes the new people in town ended up being hunters, but she still tried to keep her semi friendly demeanor. "Sure thing hun. Wanna start a tab and if so I need a name? She said as she began getting his drink, grabbing a rocks glass and putting some ice in it. She grabbed the whiskey and poured him some before passing it to him. She moved to the computer nearby and began entering his order. "Haven't seen you around here before, ya new to town?" She asked as she glanced at him.

The keys jingled as the door of the bakery locked. It had been a much busier day than Sorrel had expected and so she had stayed longer than normal, but it was worth it for happy customers. She was, however, eager to get out of there as she had plans that night. Once a week she liked to go for a run through the forest, to let the wolf out of the cage for a little bit. This time, though, she had invited her friend Cyrus to come with her as she thought it might be fun to have some company.

Cyrus was a good guy and she had a soft spot for him ever since she met him and helped him run his abusive father out of his apartment. She loved making friends and Cyrus had proven to be a wonderful friend, enjoying his company. Often times she would bring him some leftover things from her bakery or bring him dinner once or twice a week. While she always played it off like she had extra, the truth was her caring nature made her want to make sure he was eating properly and wanted him to know as much kindness as she could provide.

She climbed into the driver's seat of her car before she pulled her phone out. She scrolled through her contacts until she found Cyrus name and opened up her texting app:

Hey leaving the bakery now. Meet you at the trailhead :smile

She hit send before throwing her phone in the passenger seat and turning the key in the ignition of her black Passat. She shifted into reverse and began the short drive to the trailhead at the edge of the woods. Once there she parked the car in the small parking lot, got out, and went to the back of the car. She opened the trunk and pulled out an empty backpack to store their personal items, threw a couple water bottles into it, then slung it over her shoulder as she closed the trunk. She then leaned up against her car, messing with her phone as she waited for Cyrus to show up.

”The honor is mine, Doctor.” Brenna said in a formal response to Solomon’s greeting and then nodded at his instruction to put the kettle on. Thankfully that was something she knew how to do. She gave him a nod, glancing briefly once more to the now laughing siren as she moved over to the laboratory equipment. She took a moment to familiarize herself with his things, making sure she wasn’t about to light the ship on fire, before filling the kettle with water and starting the burner. She let the water start heating as she moved over to her things and pulled some dried herbs out. Tea was something she quite enjoyed making and she settled on a nice lavender and chamomile blend. Also making this tea meant that Brenna didn’t have to watch the siren peel and eat her skin anymore. It was definitely a shocking thing to walk in and see. She’d be lying if she said it hadn’t made her a bit ill as well.

When Peregrin finally ceased her laughing and speaking, Brenna listened carefully as she worked. The mention of the lost princess and her calling the King her father gave her pause for a moment. She worked hard to keep her composure, allowing the creature to finish speaking before she said anything. ”You misunderstand, the King is neither my father nor my sister’s. I come searching for her out of my own choice and I know full well that I may be heading towards my death and accept that. I must try to save her, however, because she would do the same for me.” She explained as she calmly went back to making the tea.

She finished combining the herbs and now just had to wait for the water to boil so she turned to look to Solomon and Peregrin again. She listened as she listed her requirements and couldn’t help chuckling a bit to herself. This woman had more demands than she had which amused her. She wondered how the Captain would react to all that when he heard it. She decided to continue to stand off the side silent, allowing time for Solomon to speak with her if he needed before she began asking any of her own personal questions.

Katurah had relaxed quite a bit with playing and singing, she even was having more fun than when she’d play in the tavern’s. She had the whole deck to dance around and play, involving as many people as she could. As the evening got later she definitely began to notice that some had become less interested in the music and more interested in her. She was now playing a game of dodge the grasping hands. So when a small woman came up to her and suggested a break she was thankful. ”Oh! Yes I suppose you’re right, I can take a short break.” She said as she gave Elenei a friendly grin and giggled at the flirtatious remark.

Katurah decided she’d been on her feet for awhile and it wouldn’t hurt to sit down. So she did just that, setting her violin on the deck and sitting next to it before looking over at the offered wine bottle. ”Oh why thank you!” She said as she took it and took a sip, handing it back to Elenei. ”It’s very nice to meet you Elenei, my name is Katurah. As the Captain explained to me earlier, I am to be your new entertainment on the ship.” She introduced herself happily, not at all aware what “entertainment” could insinuate. She was blissfully naive and was just thrilled to be making a new friend. ”So you’re our navigator?! How fun! What’s that like? Can you teach me some things? I wanna learn everything I can while I’m on this ship.” She told her eagerly.
