It seems the long summer, which gouged with fangs and gave us hope, has come to its end...

Only one custom card, huh? That might make it a bit harder for my idea, but I'll at least keep my interest on this while I figure out if I can handle another rp, lol. I'll let you know for sure once an ooc goes up if I'll be able to try to join or not, but I'm at least interested!
Marrie Knight

Sovereign, huh? Well, despite the somewhat pretentious codename, she seemed like a decent person. She didn't quite get a chance to reply before she had to go quiet to listen to the speech. Whoever was giving it was certainly a good orator. It wasn't all that dissimilar to a preacher of any of the one true gods that were out there, at least. Probably thought himself one of them, too. But wait, purified the water? That really wasn't something she wanted to hear.

When the homeless started pouring out into view, though, Marrie blanched. The chance of innocent people getting hurt, or worse killed, was now much higher than she was comfortable with. As Sovereign stated the mostly obvious, Marrie ran her eyes over the "cultist" group. Something didn't seem quite right here. Didn't the speaker say his "appendage" was white? Did he mean that literally or was she thinking too hard about this? She was roused from her deepening thoughts by Sovereign pointing out what was hopefully another (friendly) esper on a nearby roof. How had she not noticed her before? Her bad habits of overthinking and getting too distracted by her own thoughts only gave her further pause. The bad feeling in her gut was getting even worse, but she wasn't going to let things go to shit this time.

Sovereign seemed to be letting her make the decision on an approach. The sight of her firearm reassured her a bit. Being a mostly melee-focused fighter herself, having a ranged esper there was good. Marrie took a deep breath, squared her shoulders, and did her best to focus.

"If you don't know the person on the roof, that makes two of us. Since they haven't attacked us, I just hope they're friendly." She glanced at the semi and back to Sovereign as she pulled Apexer Predator out of her sleeve, letting some of its mostly contracted chain dangle next to it. "If you're not for stealth, that's fine, but you have a range advantage on me. I do have an idea though. If I mess it up, I'm screwed, so some cover fire would be great. Just please try not to kill anyone if you can avoid it."

With that said, Marrie began to cast a melody, aimed about 150 feet (45.7 meters) in front of the truck's path. With any luck, she wouldn't get instantly run over.

This stupid idea was a huge risk, but if someone was going to get hurt, better her than anyone else.

"Humans aren't real. They're just stories that bored Digimon came up with to pass the time."

Well, that made some sense, at least. There were plenty of stupid people who denied dinosaurs exist, well, existed, it would make sense for a dinosaur to deny that humans exist, especially if it's from another world entirely. At least this thing didn't seem hostile, and Kari was just beginning to lower her guard when another "digimon," she assumed, showed itself. A head with legs, and one that seemed more aggressive, based on what it was saying.

Really wish that I had some prep time before this... Would be nice to have a knife. Actually... She had just finished her thought and was about to speak when Isaac made a better point. Was there some sort of digimon collective, a city or something, that they could use as a starting point? Surely other digimon would have information on the world the humans found themselves in, it would just be a matter of finding some that were sympathetic to them. Which if the angels were telling the truth about needing them to save the world, should be most of them.

As she began talking, she found herself relaxing again. "That's a really good point. Surviving off the land isn't really in my skill-set. I sort of doubt it's in any of yours, either, so finding a place with food, water, and shelter should be our first priority. We might even find these 'partners' we're supposed to find there, too. Plus, if we can stock up on gear it would probably help with saving the world or going back home or anything else."
Marrie Knight

Marrie had spent the past few weeks after the Diver incident mostly recovering, and reassuring her mother over texts and calls that she had survived with little problem. Not exactly the truth, she knew, but making her worry even more wouldn't be a good idea. Luckily, her second-floor apartment wasn't horribly damaged from the incident, so she could show video of it to "prove" that things were relatively okay. There were even a few government subsidies for rent, so she would have to thank G.E.M.I.N.I. for that.

As she prepared to head out for the newest job from Shimr, she couldn't help but wonder how Stacy and the others from Maverick Alternative were handling the rising tensions. Once she'd grabbed her things, including her new pistol she had invested in after quite a lot of thought, she went outside to the alleyway behind the building and transformed. A quick glance over her things to make sure she didn't forget any of it, and she was on her new bike and headed to the Micromart.

When she arrived, Marrie noticed another girl there, one who was wearing a mask. So she got off her bicycle and spoke up to her, pulling out her phone with Shimr loaded. "Hey, what are you doing here? Here for some water or are you just wandering?" Sure it wasn't the most subtle way to announce her status as a Freelancer, but it was better than flat-out saying it.

Marrie paused a moment after her question. She was getting a terrible feeling of deja vu. Memories of her first job in Pax sprung to mind, the battle with the Monkeys and the Bees, those horrible, horrible memories. She was glad she had been able to compartmentalize what had happened that day, but times like these still brought a terrible feeling to her mind.

Marrie shuddered, both from her memories and anxiety. Hopefully this wouldn't turn out like that had.

Small post to clean up Hikari's end of things from the fight.
Hikari Kana

Hikari watched as the Virtue disappeared, and turned her attention to the two men who were fighting. One of them soon showed himself to be the victor and began questioning the other. Akane came out from where she was and walked over to her partner, mumbling angrily under her breath. At the same time, Miyuki came over to ask if Hikari was alright, to which she shrugged. "Not really, but it'll heal."

"That's not going to work. Hold still." Akane told her as she cast [Dia] on her, Hikari's wound rapidly closing, the pain melting away alongside it.

When the large Scottish(?) demon praised her, Akane growled and opened her mouth to say something, but seemed to think better of it and closed it again. Xiaolong walked over to hand both of the human girls a piece of paper, telling them his plan, to which Hikari only shrugged again. "I guess it's worth a shot."

To be honest, she wasn't really sure that she should even get involved in this. But she supposed that if the demon that attacked her had a connection to the cult, and the cult wasn't defeated, then she might get attacked again. That was just enough motivation to get her to agree.
Ultimately, a good... fourth? of the monster classes are "humanoid" in a literal sense anyway. But magichanging is always fun. Though I guess that's probably more likely to be the aid characters that fall into that.
Always up for Disgaea anything, really. So consider me interested, at least.

@BrokenPromise
Sounds good, copy-pasted your version in and added to Char tab. I didn't read the usual intangible in the DOCS so I just pulled 20 out of thin air, lol.
