A pink-hued sky, unlike anything they had seen before, bestowed a cordial greeting upon the humans who had been ensnared by the throes of their imminent demise just moments before. The vibrant pink shade bathed the landscape in a soft, rosy glow, imbuing the surroundings with an ethereal quality. The air itself was thick and invigorating and the colors of this world seemed to be more vivid, all due to an increased amount of oxygen. The scent of wildflowers and the sweet aroma of honey was carried on a gentle breeze that rustled the leaves.

As the bewildered humans took in their surroundings, the surreal environment slowly came into focus. The sight that greeted them was unlike anything they had ever seen before. To their surprise, they were not alone in this mystical realm. Countless pairs of eyes gazed back at them from all directions, each belonging to a unique creature that seemed to belong to a different world.

The first to be noticed was the graceful elves with their pointed ears. Their ethereal beauty was matched only by the humanoid creatures adorned with animalistic features, who moved with a fluid grace that seemed almost otherworldly. The fairies, on the other hand, hovered above the ground with iridescent wings that shimmered in the sunlight.

Even more awe-inspiring was the small number of towering orcs that stood in the distance, their massive frames towering over the rest. But despite their size, these creatures moved with a surprising grace that belied their intimidating appearance.

As the humans tried to take it all in, they noticed that behind them stood a group of elven beings, next to five large machines with screens that seemed to be flickering between random clips of earthly scenes. It was clear that these beings were not here by accident, and that they had brought the humans to this strange and wondrous world for a purpose that had yet to be revealed.

The group stood in a vast field, surrounded by towering mushrooms that reached for the heavens like colossal trees. Ancient trees, their branches reaching skyward, added to the enchanted ambiance. The forest beyond was painted with vivid hues, illuminated by the twinkling lights of playful pixies.

“...They did it!” came an excited voice. The small crowd that had gathered erupted in applause and cheering, their excitement contagious.

“Welcome, travelers, to our enchanted land,” came a voice that seemed to dance with the wind. A white-haired elven man stepped forward through the crowd toward the six humans. His voice drew a hush over the crowd at last. “I am Vaeril… I understand this may be difficult to comprehend, however, I assure you everything you hear and see is real. Please allow me to explain everything.” He moved to stand before them, his eyes gleaming with determination. “You are no longer on Earth. We have transported you from your dimension to ours. This…” He gestured around him, “This is Avalia and we are The New Dawn.” Some of the crowd erupted into cheers again and he hushed them with a wave.

“This world is nothing like you have seen before. Here, magic pulses through the very air we breathe and the land is alive with a beauty beyond comprehension. But it is also a world of darkness and oppression, ruled by the malevolent forces of dark elves.” He paused to conjure up an orb of light in his hand. “I am what you may call a light elf.” He smiled at them as he presented them with the orb. He then closed the shining bright light in his fist as his smile faded with it. “For decades, we have struggled against their tyranny, but now we have hope that you can be the lights that guide us forward. However, I am aware that it is a heavy burden to bestow upon you. We will make certain that your efforts are rewarded here.” He stretched out his arms to address them all, “Our first gift to you all is a new chance at life. You may perhaps recall through a hazy mind that your moments before arriving were grim. This is because you were at the time of your demise.”

Vaeril gave the humans a moment to take this in, knowing perhaps this had been a grave thought that had not sunken in quite yet. “Your life was fated to end at the moment we transported you here, and I am afraid if we transport you back home, you will return to that moment of peril.”

“You are our only hope, humans. You see, a legend here speaks of five demigods who each represent the elements of our planet. We believe they may hold the key to defeating the dark elves, who rule with the power of an almighty demigod of darkness.” He gestured to his allies, who nodded in agreement. “The locations of these demigods are unknown to us, however, we have the knowledge that they will only accept a being similar to themselves into their sanctuary…. We believe you may hold a power that we have not seen in this world in centuries: the power to wield elemental magics needed. You who have almost perished in a manner involving each element, now have unlocked the key to this power. If you accept us, we will help you harness your powers and fight alongside you to reclaim our world from this evil. Together, we can bring peace to Avalia once and for all.”

With that, the leader of the New Dawn rebels concluded his speech, his voice ringing with the promise of a better tomorrow. The crowd erupted into the same applause and enthusiasm, but it was the reaction of the humans that Vaeril had found himself more concerned with. He moved toward them, his blue piercing eyes falling on the two men that had come together with curiosity. He was not certain if one or both of them would display their power, but knew it would be wise to keep them together in the meantime. “Regardless of how you feel about the situation before you, humans, I will be splitting you all off into groups who will protect you now that you are here. They will be charged with training you and teaching the ways of our world.”
“Mister Luum, Malachi Elowyn, Captain Drosis Morr, Rowan and Aurora Dyewynn, and Menzai Isanami. You have been tasked with leading our five groups. You’ll be provided with a list of your group members as well as your locations. I will assign to you all humans of my choosing. ”

A week passes by after this event and the humans find themselves in their respective groups, split off for their utmost safety. During this time, the humans are to fully learn what the Avalians want of them and digest the change to some extent.

The twins, who showcased an ability to harness the material of the earth, are entrusted to Menzai to bring to his village. Since the two could not use their magic when separated, it was vital to send them with someone with extensive knowledge of human magic as well. The village of Guarav has managed to evade much of the dark elf’s influence and it may be one of the safest places a human can be.

Aurora and Rowan Dyewynn are both respected for their past contributions to the late Sun Elf Kingdom. They were presented with Zora, who has shown her affinity with water magic.

Captain Drosis Morr, is a well-respected member of the New Dawn led by Vaeril, known as The New Dawn. He is entrusted with the pyrokinetic, Ismael.

Last and not least, Malachi Elowyn and Mister Luum are both Vaeril’s highest trusted members. He has entrusted Jun, the aerokinetic, with Malachi, and Bardulf, the lightning user, with Mister Luum.

“Thank Solaris for such an extravagant day! And look! He’s coming out to give us some warmth!” Mister Luum threw his arms up high with his fingers outstretched as he laughed joyously while walking along a dirt path hugged by the many healthy oak trees that led to Roshmi City. The pink glow of the sun was creeping through the few gaps in the vegetation relighting the fantastical world as the eccentric group traveled northeast from where the human, Bardulf was summoned. The spring season was beginning to bring in vibrant flowers that had grown tired of being buds, slightly filling the air with a splendid their splendid fragrance. A week of traveling on foot had not been the most pleasant but Mister Luum insisted that Bardulf had to see the new world that would become his home in all its glory.

“Do you want to leave our new friend at a disadvantage? Sure, we could travel to Riveport and hail a boat to North Pass, but being stuck on a boat for all that time… We wouldn’t be great hosts to our guest. Besides, I have pressing business in Roshmi City.” was his argument.

As the group crested a prominent hill with Mister Luum in the lead, the towering buildings of Roshmi could be seen in the distance. Until now this day, Mister Luum had left the socializing with the human to Rue, Bowyn, and Brigitte. The view of Roshmi City from this distance indicated the group did not have much longer before they would reach it. Once there, they planned to use the city’s vast transit hub to travel to North Pass.

“Beautiful! Look Bardulf, there she goes! Roshmi City! The pinnacle of diversity! Governed by Ravus Solsta.” The name was said with a tone different from his usual one. There was a hint of bitter fervor in it and his smile briefly dropped for once, though the others couldn’t see this before he brightened right up. “I met him once. Decent fellow,” he added before stopping in his tracks and turning back to the others. “You know, I am quite surprised we’ve traveled this far without encountering any trouble. No bandits, nasty creatures, or even an annoying beggar on the side of the road. Brigitte! Anything to report? We need Bardulf to experience some danger, and I would rather be on the up and up about it when it comes.” It almost seemed like the elf was looking for trouble.

It was a beautiful day and Brigitte felt content basking in the warm sun as they walked. She hummed a merry tune, hoping to lift the spirits of her companions. They had been walking for a while, and Brigitte worried that the human might be getting exhausted. Although Mister Luum could be overenthusiastic, she trusted him to detect any issues with the strange new creature. During the first three days, Mister Luum had instructed her to remain silent and she obeyed, observing their group. Although many underestimated the power of observation, Mister Luum understood it well, and she knew what was expected of her without him having to say anything.

Despite humming, Brigitte remained vigilant for danger as she listened, sniffed, and scanned the area. Thus far, nothing had caught her attention, which was a good sign in her book. While the human needed to learn, she wondered if it was too early to expose him to the monsters of this world. Nevertheless, she didn't question Mister Luum, who always seemed to know best. When he inquired whether she sensed anything, she immediately stopped humming and focused. After taking a few sniffs, she sneezed and glared at one of the passing flowers. "Do ya consider those wee bastards a danger?" she asked before itching her nose and continuing, "There doesnae seem ta be-" She paused, holding up a finger as she caught a scent. "Wait! There ye go! A Light Elf? Female, I reckon, and her heart is racin' a bit as if she was fightin' something. Or runnin' maybe?" The scent was overwhelming due to the blooming flowers, soft breeze, the approaching city, and the passing Light Elven city, making it difficult to identify. However, she couldn't let Mister Luum down, and so she focused harder, closing her eyes to heighten her hearing and sense of smell.

"I think she may need some help. Perhaps we should investigate? We cannae leave someone in harm's way, aye?" she finally proposed, glancing at Mister Luum, the two winter fairies, and the human. Brigitte would never ignore someone who needed assistance, but she also wouldn't take action without Mister Luum's approval. She trailed her fingers over her longbow, awaiting the group's decision.

There was certainly a lot to process in such a short amount of time. The first few days alone Bardulf had been coping with the fact that he was essentially dead to his original world. His family would likely worry about him, and for that he regretted not being able to say his proper goodbyes. But as his father would've told him - "Son, a man only has so long to mourn or grieve before being forced backed out in to the world. Be ready for you will see this yourself many times in your life." - He certainly wasn't wrong. Bardulf steeled himself and focused more on the world in front of him as best he could, shelving the more depressing thoughts for another day. It was rather easy to take in the sights and the new fauna he could explore and experience for himself.

Every sight he saw he would take a moment to appreciate it's beauty before being quickly whisked back towards the group. The long walk was certainly unexpected, but Bardulf had spent over half his life walking in the wilderness, so his legs were in fine shape for the journey. He was rather timid around these folks at first, namely Mister Luum who seemed to be the head of the group. His bold nature was an unusual strain of interaction for Bardulf but he slowly grew accustomed to his mannerisms day by day. He found it odd that the one with red hair, he believed her name to be Brigette, did not speak for awhile. But honestly, Bardulf had little words to share at first too so he simply let it be.

The first two people looked at least somewhat human compared to what Bardulf was used to, but the later two fairies, Rue and Bowyn, certainly left Bardulf staring perhaps a smidge longer than was socially acceptable. But he was simply too curious not to. As the days went on, he found Bowyn to be fairly serious in their interactions, meaning Bardulf made sure not to bother him unless it was truly necessary. Rue on the other hand, was rather sweet and often the one to yoink Bardulf back towards the group whenever he would wander or stare for too long at an exotic plant or animal. She was also the best at finding him whenever he snuck away to be by himself at night. His old habits were hard to break, but he began to see that he was more or less a VIP in this setting, and should try to not separate himself for fear of being ambushed, kidnapped, or worse.

He had a flurry of questions, but he knew in time Mister Luum would likely answer most if not all of them. It seemed to be part of his roundabout methodology. And as the approached their destination, Roshmi City, Mister Luum exclaimed to Bardulf about it's beauty and the wonder of there being no trouble on their way to this city. He spoke to Mister Luum with a low voice, just creeping about a whisper. yet the sheer base in his voice carried it rather far enough for everyone to hear.

"Well, Mister Luum, it's certainly gorgeous. Everything here is still so naturally preserved but cities still seem to flourish so much. Makes me glad." He paused before addressing the part about there being 'no danger'. "I would prefer no danger honestly. I've already had a few embarrassing hiccups with this lightning magic of mine. I should probably get it under wraps before long." He said sheepishly, thinking back to the times he would jolt people when he bumped into them or when he sneezed and sent a small bolt of lightning into a nearby tree.

It was around then that the red-haired woman, at Mister Luum's request, began to chatter about another elf. Bardulf took a moment to focus on where Brigette pointed and suddenly a wave of anxiety hit his body. It had been quite some time since he felt murderous intent like that, but he knew the scent and feel of a predator when he felt it. Momentary flashes of his last encounter with the bear who gave him scar flickered in his mind, but he waved it away before looking to group.

"Definitely being chased. Something big is hunting. At least it feels big. It's making the hairs on my neck stand up straight." He hoisted his cowl up and looked in the direction he felt the presence, looking around to the group for anyone to make the first move before deciding to jump into something like this.

【Equipment】 Travel bag with essentials (money, rations, fist aid, etc), twin daggers.

“Ouch!”

Zeva flinched as her fingers pricked the pointy end of a branch from an alaberry bush, drawing a bead of blood at the site. She instinctively brought her hand to her lips as she gave the bush a little kick in frustration, almost spilling the already collected berries in her other hand. Nearby was Zeva’s makeshift campsite she had set up last night, with a thin trail of smoke lifting towards the rosy skies as the last embers of her fire died out. The alaberry bush was a lucky find, as Zeva was growing increasingly tired of the few remaining rations she brought with her on her journey to Roshmi City.

Happily munching on her hard-fought spoils, Zeva crossed her legs and sat down by the ash pile that had by now fizzled out. She had been traveling through the Avalian wilderness for about a week now, with the goal of buying high-quality daggers in Roshmi City and getting some fighting experience on the way. Two birds with one stone, as they say. Through many shifts at The Oak Tree, she managed to save enough to upgrade her equipment and she was determined to not hold back on her spending.

Once Zeva finished her snack, she wiped off her mouth with the back of her hand, her fingertips still stained in berry juice, and quickly sprung up. She dusted off the dirt from her clothes, and picked up the travel bag that had been leading against a tree trunk. Back to training on the road! Zeva joyfully skipped away from her discarded campsite; with two daggers in hand, she swung her arms from side to side as she pranced across the forest floor. Her goal was to get deeper into the woods where creatures hid, so she could encounter some challenging foe. Nothing like live combat to improve fighting skills! For most of her journey, Zeva had been fighting small prey, like rabbits for food and the occasional almiraj or Joverine boar. But she was ready for a real challenge now, and she was sure she could take it on.

Fifteen minutes out, there was a distinct rustle in the distance. Zeva crouched down, eyeing the foliage a few yards away, where blushed rays of light danced upon the dewy leaves, casting patterned shadow on the dense forest floor and shorter fauna. Steady, steady… Zeva’s hand gripped the hilt of her blade tighter as she leaned towards the sound.

Zeva’s left foot snapped back instinctively as the silhouette of a sturdy creature pounced out of the bush and rushed towards her. She managed to dodge its first lunge and distanced herself enough to get a good look at the beast.

“Really? Another damn boar??” Zeva sighed in disbelief. Her shoulder dropped, disappointed in the difficulty level of prey. Sluggishly, she regained her composure and readied herself for the battle. “Guess we’re doing this again!” She raised her draggers in front of her face and bent her knees. The boar charged. The wind caressed Zeva’s frame as she flipped through the air, landing on the other side of the boar’s onslaught. In a swift motion, her body twisted to build momentum, her arms swinging both daggers towards the boar’s body. It squealed in pain as the blade grazed its hind legs, a shallow scratch. Angered, the beast charged again, directing its sharp tusks towards Zeva’s exposed midriff.

“Chill, boar, chill,” Zeva mused as she skipped away right before the boar’s tusks impaled her, an enthusiastic grin on her face. She swung again, landing another wound on the beast’s side. It was easy to hit such a large target, especially when it charged so honestly and eagerly.

After several more bouts, Zeva finally felled the beast and it collapsed in a puddle of its own blood. Haha! I did it again! She knelt down to the beast's head, ready to take a tusk as her trophy. Her dagger dug into the boar’s flesh, when an ominous shadow suddenly darkened Zeva’s view of her catch.

"Grr.." A low rumble sounded behind Zeva’s ears, a little too close for comfort. Slowly, she turned her head towards the source of the noise.

An owlbear stood behind her in a menacing stance, on the prowl as if about to strike. Zeva let out a soft nervous laugh, before cautiously standing up. No doubt the creature was lured by the sounds of their earlier scuffle and now was tempted by the meal, no, meals standing before it. Quietly, Zeva lowered into a fighting stance and her lips tugged into a cocky smile. Let’s fucking go.

The owlbear snarled and hurled its massive frame towards the elf. Zeva wasn’t so lucky this time, and managed to put her arms defensively in front of her to brace for the impact. Her body flew several feet backwards and her back slammed on a nearby tree. “Ouch, ouch, ow…” Zeva grimaced but quickly recovered and rebounded on her feet, dashing towards the owlbear, then shifting rapidly to its right side. Her daggers barely nicked its skin, being shielded by its plentiful fur coat and feathers. Her performance was being affected by the blow the owlbear landed on her earlier and she could still feel the pain pulsing through her body with every step she took.

Cough, Zeva’s slight pause to regain composure gave the owlbear its next opportunity to attack. A large paw adorned with rigid claws swiped towards her. She barely managed to dodge, sustaining a sizable gash on her upper right arm. Fuck, fuck, fuck!! Zeva hated losing, and she hated admitting it even more. She kept focus on dodging the owlbear as she considered her next move. Fight or flight? As the battle drew on and Zeva grew more and more tired, the latter became the more rational option.

“UGGHHH, fine! FINE!” Zeva shouted in exasperation as she began to dart the other way, clasping tightly at her injured arm to try to stop the bleeding. She was forced to learn the hard truth in that moment, that she in fact, could not take it on. The owlbear followed diligently in pursuit, growling as it went, undistracted by the free meal of Joverine boar that Zeva so graciously prepared for it. It seemed to value taking down Zeva more, who offended it with her aggressive behavior. Zeva jumped from tree to tree, and before long, she saw a clearing ahead. As she drew closer, she could make out a group of people gathered on a dirt path who looked robust enough. This is it!! This is my chance!!

“OWLBEAR INCOMING! HELP!!” Zeva glanced behind her, and the beast was still following closely behind. “Holy crap, GET OUT OF THE WAY!!” She launched off a tree trunk and somersaulted out of the clearing and ran straight in the middle of the group. Thinking fast, she saw another light elf in the group and instinctively sprinted to his side, her weapons drawn in preparation for the owlbear’s next attack.

“I think we can very easily leave someone to their own danger.” Bowyn wondered how one could smell that someone was a light elf and that their heart was racing but he didn’t ask. Bridgette hadn’t seemed overly fond of talking, at least in the beginning, and Bowyn wasn’t overly fond of hearing about different scents either.

Bardulf, who had proven himself competent over the week, seemed smart enough to know that their goal here was to avoid unnecessary danger. A light elf being chased by something big and likely angry was unnecessary danger. “Well there ya go, Bridgette, sounds like an idiot pissed off the wrong creature and now gets to learn a valuable lesson. Not our problem.”

“Danger?” The head of a stoat poked out from Bowyn’s pocket, beady eyes darting around. There were two words that Raze could pick up on without needing a translation; danger and food, either word instantly grabbed his attention.

“Not for us.” Bowyn answered calmly, scratching the head of the stoat.

“Food?” Raze’s next word was somewhere between a question and a demand.

“No food.” Bowyn responded as he noted the strange rustling of the trees just as a light elf jumped out from the trees and ended up right at Mister Luum’s side. It was just as he suspected; Mister Luum was a magnet for trouble.

“Why?” The curious Raze watched the new elf but was more concerned by the fact that the group had all stopped and there was no food being eaten.

“Umm, incoming owlbear?” Bowyn answered the stoat, who looked around again before accepting that this was not the time for food and nestled back into the protection of the pocket.

“So you thought, lead the owlbear toward others, let someone else sort out your mess. Great plan, typical elf logic.” Bowyn addressed the stranger, it didn’t take any sort of skill to note his annoyance. Since the stranger had gone right ahead and inserted herself in their group, it looked like Mister Luum was getting exactly what he wanted; a chance for Bardulf to test his skill against danger. This meant the rest of them had to make sure an enraged owlbear wasn't going to get a lucky swipe against Bardulf and ruin the rebellion before it really got started.

Menzai Isanami

Gaurav

A sole figure moved quietly and stealthily through the thickets of trees; a glimpse of a shadow traversing branches with graceful ease. Nature all about was buzzing and bustling with life, the air thickly rich with magic with a myriad of sweet and pleasant earthy aroma mixed with freshly ripe berries gushing to full. Streams and ribbons of light that broke through the canopy of trees glittered and glinted off the morning dew; animal critters of various sizes could be seen grazing or going about their business. The pairs of ears twitching signifying his presence heard, yet his presence did nothing to alarm or frighten the animals who all carried on unbothered.

The faintest thump of shoeless feet crunching against the grass-laid ground was soon heard as Menzai landed now that the trees have thinned enough for easy traversal. The elegant long sleeves and baggy pant legs billowed in his wake yet surprisingly made little sound while ribbons of light glistened giving the appearance of glittering snow. A predator, a hunter and seeker of both prey and knowledge, but most of all a protector; Menzai were all these things and took both his studies and duties with a dedication rivaling those of his ancestors. These factors along with knowledge on magic and humans were all what led to Menzai being given the responsibilities with watching over the recently arrived humans along with their training. A role he had been uncertain and unsure, but one he readily accepted and was now on his way to meet with the two human brothers.

Taking into consideration how everything about this world and their situation would prove plenty overwhelming on its own. As such, Menzai thought and came to the conclusion to allow them time to adjust and work through all the information given. Even upon introductions the solitude wolf kept things simple and brief; only telling them facts they would need to know for now while holding off explaining any more for the time being. These decisions led to the past week mostly involving their accumulating to Gaurav and its people; a village that has lived in solitude since near its very creation.

The humans arrival and presence were the main component in Gaurav's decision to send Menzai as representative who had chosen to go for his own personal reasons. A journey he made solo though not without multiple attempts from Phia to follow after to the wolf's annoyance.

The event had brought a good number of humans to these lands though he had his misgivings towards splitting them up. Yet, he understood the reasonings, for as save as Gaurav is having them all in one place offered too possibilities of attacks on this cherished and beloved ancient forest or the village sacred library and its countless treasured artefacts and secrets.

Then there is the fact that each of the humans had a different element of magic meaning each of them would require different forms of training.

Training that the humans have been understandably excited and eager to start. As eager as Menzai was to begin as well, his decisions to spend the week meeting the folk and exploring the forest to allow time for adjustment and to be in a better mental space for when attempting anything involving magic. Possibly a smart decision on the added fact of the Gaurav's immense friendliness and openness towards them. The village wolves were very accepting and affectionate with the humans, but also knew not to encroach into their personal space without permission... save for the children. (and Phia unfortunately in that same vein)

Of course, Menzai made sure to include basic exercising and work-out in order to keep them active and for observations to aid in how he determines their training regimen.

The brothers would find the wolf to be somewhat different when around them compared to the rest of the village. Normally quiet and reserved, but around them he speaks up more, whether it be answering questions or inquiring about them or of their world while only doing so a few questions per interaction. He made sure to avoid delving into anything personal though the same could not be said for a certain overly energetic fairy who always found a way to pop-up at some point to badger with onslaughts of questions or attempts to play games.

He greatly cared for rambunctious fairy even if she proved to be a bit too much at times, but she had since become like a sister after joining the family. For one so innocent and pure without a care in the world; a protector dedicated to give his all to watch over and defend was needed and much like other duties he takes very seriously.

Even now as the quiet wolf stalked and strode his way to the clearing what Mr. Dante and Mr. Darius should be waiting with the guide tasked with delivering them safely to, he could recall the sweet fairy's many pleadings and begging to be allowed tag along to watch. A request he shot down; not due to any distrust towards the brothers, but of the dangers of their inexperience and lack of skills which offered to much risk, he tried to explain. An argument that went on far longer than normally, but even though she relented in the end he very much doubted she would listen and expected to either see her there already or stalking after him due to the chosen destination being done out of secrecy.

He stopped momentarily giving a small shake of the head causing the long silky, bright violet locks of his hair to slide from his shoulders and gently waft onto the back of his haori, the stark whiteness making the violet strands seem as if they were shining as they caught the faint warms beams, his snow-white furred canine ears twitched and flicked atop his head, listening and catching a wide assortment of sounds and smells. An assortment of flowery scents normally overpowering to an untrained demi-human along with the scents of various animals, the humans who were just through the trees ahead could be felt as if right next to the wolf thanks to his highly tuned senses. Sensing no danger within the vincinity and now satisfied, Menzai carried on until he entered the clearing to find Dante and Darius waiting with Ulyeses, the captain of the hunters. One look at the aged wolf was all it would take for anyone to tell this was an individual not to be trifled with, who stood at 6'5 with a burly body, albeit with muscles not overtly pronounced as too much muscle mass made stealthing difficult. The oldest save for the elders with keen senses a shade sharper than even Menzai with a sharp wit nearly matching his at least when it comes to strategizing.

Ulyeses was chatting comfortably with the humans while his pert ears indicated he was keeping watch as well. Only holding his hand up signaling to cease before turning his attention to Menzai. A wide tooty grin quickly plastering his bushy beard; skin tanned like dark caramel and slight learthery roughness to his skin from years of hunting beneath the sun; an ever-watchful eye that witnessed any and all deeds breathing its life-giving presence at all times. A number of scars lay hidden beneath the beard and tan that went unnoticed by the man who raised his left hand to scratch at his beard." Ah, finally! The guardian wolf arrives! Never thought I'd see the day for young Menzai to show up late." He exclaimed jubilantly with a guffaw to match.

A small weary sigh left Menzai's lips as he maintained his usual near blank expression. Deep pools of dark violet with a crimson glint glowing faintly beneath the sunny rays at their very center that gave little away of his emotions peered at the gathered group." Apologies for the late arrival. Time seem to have escaped me during my respite in working out plans. I also thought to check the area one last time." He spoke calmly and concise with a tone that felt distant while not outright cold, came with a slight chill as if to maintain some semblance of distance.

Hearing Menzai's words only propelled Ulyses into a louder burst of guffaw." Oh-oh! Looks like we got us an overly cautious pup here fellas."

A low warning growl rumbled from Menzai followed with a sharp glare aimed at the grizzled wolf that might have made most animals and villagers to step back or offer apologies. Ulyses, however, just kept up that stupid grin and let out another laugh as he stepped over to clap Menzai on the back.

" Alright, then. Here's where I take my leave. With that, I leave the two of ya in the hands of our precious wittle guardian." Reaching to pinch at Menzai's cheek after stating so in a teasing baby like voice.

An attempt that led to Ulyses's arm being smacked away with a set of fresh clawmarks with beads of scarlet adding to his hairy, scarred arm. That friendly grin widened into a pleased smirk." Ah, finally got a set of Isanami claws to my skin, hah!" The veteren wolf quickly jumped away avoiding another slash from Menzai sporting another vicious glare at him." Alright alright! I've overstayed my welcome then. Hope to meet up with you guys later. We will definitely continue our little chat!" Walking backwards as he spoke ending with snapping his fingers to a finger-gun before vanishing into the woods as if returning and becoming one with nature once more.

An annoyed groan rumbled out as Menzai stood upright composing himself once more, finishing with a slow, deep exhale." Apologies again for the delay. Hopefully that will be the last of the distractions." Shaking his head, giving a flick of his right arm to clean his claws of any small bits of Ulyses blood.* Great, now I'll be dealing with the scent of blood for the next couple days.* Thought his dislike of such fact, but chose to put any unnecessary thoughts aside for now.

Waiting to place his hands into the opposite sleeves his composure settled before continuing." Now that the annoyance is gone. We can start with any questions and once dispensed of we may appropriately begin your training, Mr. Darius, Mr. Dante." nodding to each in turn when speaking their names.

In one moment, Zora could only feel the violent embrace of the sea, her world swirling and spinning as she was dragged down into the depths, salt water filling her lungs as the surface of the sea got further and further away... It was at that moment, after darkness fully embraced Zora that she felt herself falling on her knees into solid ground.

Confused and disorientated, Zora could do little but to kneel on the ground and cough, trying to expel the water from her lungs. It was only after after she recover herself that Zora finally took a moment to look around. With the first breath of fresh air, Zora felt the unfamiliar scents of an unknown forest, strange noises she hadn't heard before and when she finally opened her eyes, after cleaning them from salt water, the explosion of colors she saw around her was enough to almost overwhelm her.

The surreal scenery around her, with plants she had never seen before, was only made even more unbelievable upon realizing that she wasn't alone. From beautiful humans with pointed ears, fairies and animal-like humans to huge, warrior-like creatures with tusks and green skin, all of them seemed to be straight out of fantastic stories and myths. The only ones who seemed to stand out in such a fantastic scenery was Zora herself and four other humans who seemed to be equally as confused.

After the initial shock, a quick evaluation of her surroundings quickly told Zora that not only her and the other humans' presence there was already expected, but it also caused a very positive reaction from the creatures watching them. Despite the 'warm' welcome, there were still many questions on Zora's mind. Fortunately, before she or even any other of the humans could ask, one of the humans with pointy ears gave a step forward, introducing himself as Vaeril as he greeted the confused humans.

His voice was as beautiful and melodic as his appearance and his words at first, were once again almost straight out of fantasy tales. According to his words, they were transported to Avalia. A completely different 'dimension', where magic not only was real but permeated the land. A land where different kinds of fantastical races called home, such as his race, light elves, who fought against the oppression and tyranny that they suffered under the rule of the dark elves and how the humans would aid them in their righteous fight for the future of their land. A beautiful and exciting tale, of the kind many merchants would love to sell to nobles by outrageous prices, but still, it was not something that should be of Zora's concern.

Or that was what Zora thought, until Vaeril spoke about his first 'gift' to them... A new chance at life. His words were heavy as he said that the last memories they all had from their world was their last moments before their death. No matter what they did, their story on Earth had reached to an end and their fate was sealed. Even if they demanded to return, nothing could change that fact.

Avalia was now, her only choice if she wanted to live. With that said, Zora would also soon learn that Avalia held more opportunities for her than simply another chance at life...

The next few days in Avalia passed by rather quickly for Zora, thanks to the amount of information she was being taught by Aurora and Rowan, the light elves Vaeril assigned to instruct and take care of her.

Aurora showed herself not only to be incredibly kind, calm, patient and wise. Her peaceful ways made Zora remember of the preachers and priests that sometimes she met during her travels. The ones that weren't corrupt, of course. Should those ever had the chance to meet Aurora, Zora had no doubts that they would immediately think of her as a saint, due to her kindness and selflessness.

With her, Zora learned about the many different races that called Avalia home, about Avalia itself and most importantly, about the magical power that flowed through the land and Zora's connection to it. More specifically to her element, water. Aurora quickly shown to be incredibly wise and by what Zora could discern, very attuned to the magic of the land. Most of the magical advice and teachings came from her.

Unlike Aurora, Rowan, despite having a polite and noble-like behavior, was much more serious. Coming from a military background, he was the one that assisted Zora with combat training, evaluating Zora's combat capabilities, sparring and teaching her about the war tactics that were used on Avalia. His ability with magic seemed to be very limited, but his skill with the bow and short swords was unparalleled. His personality and the importance he gave to honor and chivalry meant that he not always agreed with Zora's ways, but he still could find a common ground with Zora once he started to notice some of the moral rules Zora had.

But those weeks also made Zora reflect about her past life... At first, to think someone like her, who held an incredible influence through the sea had met such a pathetic end was hard to believe... To have been sacrificed thanks to the very own fame she made for herself was ironic to say the least. But when she thought a bit more about it, she realized where her mistake was... While she had influence over many people, she was never 'powerful'. The 'power' she played with was never truly hers and instead, was merely borrowed and on her hubris, she had forgotten that very fact...

But in Avalia, it would be different. The very moment Zora began being taught about magic by Aurora, she became aware of the strong connection she had with magic and specifically, water. If she learned how to wield it correctly and control it, the 'power' she was believed to have in her 'previous life' wouldn't be borrowed. She wouldn't need to borrow the sea's power, to read and interpret the waves. She wouldn't be restricted to have influence over people. In Avalia, Zora could influence the sea itself. To become truly as powerful as others believed her to be back on Earth.

Darius and Dante or Dante and Darius (depending on which brother you asked) had a lot to take upon arriving in Avalia. The idea of dying and being brought to a fantastical world that they thought could only be conjured up from a fictional story or television series. The twins were in silent disbelief, at least initially.

“We died?

“Didn’t you hear him? We’re fucking dead bro, this is some Isekai shit!”

“WE’RE FUCKING DEAD!!!”

It took a few moments to calm the two down and with time, they both considered the possibilities of this entire ordeal. First, they sorted out that they hadn’t actually died. Second, this whole Avalia situation thing might not be the worst that could have happened. They could have woken up in the fiery pits of hell instead. They also learned that their summoning was a bit of an anomaly as only one of them was meant to be summoned. This made both brothers wonder who obtained the power to control the element of earth in this world… Well, technically they argued over who would have it. This went on until both of them displayed the ability sparked by one of their tumultuous exchanges.

And though it was odd for either of them to see the odd appearance of the native Avalian races, the two grew used to it rather easily due to their immersion in many types of fantasy works on Earth. Meeting Menzai, however, was not filled with the warm greeting they might have hoped for.

Once in Guarav Village, they were met with the opposite of what Menzai offered. The village of dog-people were all extremely friendly, even if they did keep their distance at times… save for the children who they had no qualms interacting with. Their training was mostly physical to start which was right up their alley. Both were in their physical primes and even turned some training exercises into competition. They even added more whenever they didn’t feel like they had enough.

Menzai was not the only person they had regular interactions with during their first week in Avalia. There was also Phia, the high-energy and extraordinarily curious forest fairy. She had been quite interested in the lives of the brothers, wanting to know which plants or animals existed on their homeworld. Phia had spent hours hanging out with them and the three had even gone out collecting various objects in the forest including bones to make crafts. As soon as she could, she showed Dante and Darius her cave filled with her collection. She had seemed to collect all sorts of trinkets and items such as bones, crystals, shiny stones, and other random objects that were strewn on shelves made out of branches. There were even little homes she had created for different bugs. While Dante found the cave a wonderful menagerie of treasure, Darius found it a bit strange though endearing. The trio also enjoyed some creature-watching.

Today, the twins found themselves in the company of Ulyeses, the captain of the hunters in Guarav. For the short time, the twins were with the large demihuman, they could honestly admit they would have rather have him be their guardian due to how personable he was. Plus, he looked like he could take on anyone within the village without much trouble, at least until they watched Menzai swiftly slash the larger man. As Menzai spilled Ulyeses’ blood, Darius raised his eyebrows in surprise before whispering to Dante.

“Menzai’s a savage. Did you see that?”

”Yeah, bro what the fuck. Is he just gonna slash at us?”

“One way to find out,” Darius shot Dante a cocky smirk as he had mischief on his mind. “Ay wittle guardian, you ready to get training started?! Come on. Let’s do this!” Darius exclaimed.

“Yeah! Wittle guardian, let’s get ready to rock and roll!”

Time: Morning
Location: Port Vanarosa
Interactions: The Crew, the New Dawn Leaders
Mentions: Isamel and Tanithil.
Equipment: Sword, ring, and a mug.

Port Vanarosa was, among other things, the closest thing to a day off the crew of the Saltrunner got typically. The Avalian sun just peaked over the horizon on a new day as the port came into view. The captain, a middle-aged light elf who could outshine the stars, stayed at the wheel. Captain Morr called for the back sails to be raised and for the human pyromancer to be brought from below deck. Once they made anchor, and once the mast was closed, Drosis gathered his entire crew at the bow for an address.

"All of you, listen to me. This human is our charge, and that means he's part of the crew from here on. The dark elves can and will hunt us down if they get so much as a suspicion that his kind're back in Avalia, so we're not to be the first ones that let it slip. The knowledge that Ismael's afoot in our world doesn't leave the deck. Tanithil, you're his guard until he learns which way's up.”

Drosis’ voice commanded respect and filled with iron. He spoke with meaning, and the crew knew he didn’t mess around. ”Arlen, you know the deal. See that the gold’s sorted out. Tanithil-“ He singled out one of the disgraced higher-class elves above his ship. ”You’re responsible for keeping Ismael in line. Do not let him wander, or show his face out in the streets.” He turned to the human, who he was referring to.

”Malthemoor has spies everywhere. Once one of them knows your face, the port’ll be infested. Stay low, and stick to this man like your life depends on it. This is your chance to blend in, and learn what you can.” Drosis said, and then addressed everyone else.

”All the rest of you, go. Drink. Look over your shoulder. We leave in one week.” Normally, they would only stay three days. The first to unload, the second to reload, the next to finish business. That was how it always was. However, now they had a secret rebel they needed to acclimate to their world. They would be staying longer to accommodate that need. Drosis walked back to the stern of the Saltrunner, and entered the captains quarters.

The room was small, like an overnight room at an inn. There was a floor chest on one side, a tall cabinet on the other, and a large desk in the middle of the room. From a drawer, Drosis fished out a journal and a pen, noting the time of day and the crew’s arrival in port. He took a seat in a darkly colored wooden chair, and rolled up his sleeve to access his transmission bracelet. He pinged all four other bracelets, for Lumm, Malachi, the Dynewynns, and Menzai.

”All channels, this is Captain Morr speaking. The Saltrunner has just made landing in Port Vanarosa, in line with schedule. We are unloading cargo, and will depart for River Port one week from today.” He leaned back in his chair, fidgeting with a “souvenir” he never put with the rest- A warforged’s eye that he shot out of the machine’s head with a light blast. ”I’ve trust our Chosen One with one of my more dependable hands. He’ll teach the boy to keep his head down, sparks and all.” Everyone beneath the age of 200 was either “boy” or “kid” to the Captain in some capacity. He was over 600, he had a right to call people that.

”We expect little trouble, so long as Ismael doesn’t cause a scene. Should that happen, we will confine him to the lower deck until further notice. That is all. Morr out.” He cut the transmission, and pulled out a separate notebook to run through some preliminary logistics for the next ten minutes… A glance at the ledger here, an update to the log there, and everyone was good to go.

Drosis locked the quarters in his way out and headed to whatever tavern all the other crew members were lonely getting drunk in. Tanithil could handle Ismael. And if he couldn’t, Drosis could always throw him in the lowest deck for a day.

Viola wasn't sure if it was all the suffering she went through in Daka Island, the experiments that transformed her body or even the reeducation she was forced to go through, but the fact that she was a changed person was quite clear, not only to herself it was evident to Cypress as well, once she met him after escaping. Even after she steeled her will to escape, her hopes to meet her family were nonexistent. Due to that, the relief she felt when she met Cypress after escaping was enough to light a small ember of hope to find her siblings deep within her. It was exactly that feeling of wanting to find her missing family members and the fact that made her follow Cypress. Even if she was changed, even if Cypress ended up not feeling as she was still his sister, he was still one of the few people in Avalia that cared about her. That, coupled with the fact that she had absolutely nowhere to go was more than enough reason for her to travel together with him.

Following Cypress as they searched for their missing siblings took them to the forests between the old River Fairy Kingdom, now called Riverbloom and River Port. Despite the River Fairy Kingdom having fallen with the slaughter of their family 15 years ago, the territory that once was their home was still their best bet of finding any clues... Whether them be good or bad, regarding their missing family.

The reason for them to stop in the forest instead of heading straight towards Riverbloom or River Port was in part, due to Viola's request. It had been some time since she fed her Blood Rose with the blood of a wild animal and she could feel the plant asking her for it. While her own blood was already a good sustenance to it, the Blood Rose still asked for blood of wild animals. Normally, Viola would simply catch a creature that passed nearby them and let her rose drain it's blood, but it was not always that their travels took them through a forest where bigger creatures lived and due to that, she had been feeding it with small creatures such as rodents and rabbits until now.

It didn't took long until they found a boar after they entered the forest. Aided by Viola's Chlorokinesis, the Blood Rose's acted swiftly, ending the boar's life the blink of an eye, impaling it with one of it's thorny vines, the sames that delicately embraced Viola's body, protecting her. After a minute, when Viola felt the rose had finished absorbing the creature's blood, she watched as the thorny vine that was deeply embedded into the boar's chest retracted, leaving a sizeable hole without a single drop of blood left inside.

"It is satisfied. I am done, brother Cypress." Viola said, walking away from the boar carcass and approaching Cyrus.

While that wasn't the first time Cyrus had saw Viola 'feeding' her blood rose, it was still a rather disturbing sight to see her feeding it with another creature instead of feeding it with her own blood. It was especially worse when Viola used Necrosis magic to rot the carcass. Fortunately, since they were in a forest, Viola decided to simply let nature run it's course.

"Thank you... For waiting for me." Viola said as she nodded to Cypress, indicating she was ready to continue their travel.

The week had come and gone in a curious manner. There was apprehension misting the air around everyone’s auras. It was only healthy that such an occurrence took place. The situation was of brave importance, and without a little stress to sharpen the moods, they would all fall dull and flat against the coming enemy.

Aurora was sufficiently aware of her own apprehensions. However, with the quick and resourceful learnings of Zoe’s, Aurora felt a calmness towards the situation. The humans were remarkable creatures — just as her father had always taught Rowan and her. He spoke so highly of them that Aurora felt a little embarrassed at how surprised she was by their strength and powers.

Of course, the human condition was still fragile, and Aurora noted several such delicacies within the fabric of Cora’s persona. The glow of her aura was rarely proven dull and lacking in shine, but it had tender moments that Aurora felt more than responsible for taking under her care. She tried her best to relay these responses to Rowan.

Zora was a natural, which proved itself prosperous and also problematic at times. She was fiercely independent — just like that of the ocean. But, Aurora had to remind herself (and one day Zora) that even the ocean was guided by the celestial beings. For now, allowing Zora the free-range of experimenting with what she could with her powers was proving wise enough:

“Water has the properties to heal and to cause harm. It is a powerful element and must be used with sincere caution. Even a small trickle can shape mountains.” There was more Aurora wished to speak of, in terms of water and the potentials of powerful damage. Still, those lessons would come later, as to not distract the purity of Zora’s training.

It was a beautiful day in Riverbloom. The group was taking a break at the Daisy, a tiny bakery in Riverbloom known for its cakes. Rowan and Aurora had both those to skip Books and Cookies for something a little more leisurely. It seemed in the past week, the two of them had been filling Zora to the brim with information, and Aurora was afraid the amount of information would turn toxic after a while.

The Daisy was quaint and quiet. It contrasted the boldness of Zora’s attire, but Aurora had no such insight on the situation. All she could see was the calmness of the the environment had on everyone.

“Zora, you are learning so quickly. I understand that I keep encouraging you with similar compliments, but truly, this I am impressed. Your inner glow is shining more diligently, as well. Please, be honest. How are your thoughts?”

After her question, Aurora cheerfully took a small bite from her piece of cake. The cutlery was prominent in fairy taste, and the cake was even more delicious.

The past week had been an interesting turn of events. One moment it was standard business, moving cargo, fighting the odd brigand here and there, and perhaps even some occasioanl hijinks; courtesy of Tanithil. But this week was different, a brand new member was added to the crew...a human to boot! Tanithil somewhat held himself responsible for the magic training of the man. He seemed plenty capable, and spoke a fair amount about his home as well as the circumstances of his death. It was surreal to say the least, talking to a "dead man". Tanithil simply shrugged it off and focused on some of the important things.

For one, this guy was now, for lack of a better term, precious cargo with legs. The fate of the world could very well rest on their ability to bring this man to some hidden lair of some kind. Tanithil found the adventure intriguing to say the least, but figured it would come with an unimaginable amount of hurdles and challenges. Before they could even think of that however, Ismael needed to learn his way around casting magic. The Captain of course had his strength in magic, but his brainpower was far better put to use steering the vessel and guiding the crew. At least that's what Tanithil figured. If magic training went to the Captain, that just meant less work for him after all. As for everyone else, their strengths lay elsewhere and would be just as valuable to the human in his time to come on Avalia.

As the ship pulled into port, Tanithil would help bring in the sails and fetch Ismael from below deck as Captain Morr requested. He took his own cloak and draped it over the man with a short explanation. "Would be bit of a shit job on our end if people saw you on our ship day 1. You can borrow this for now until we get you a proper disguise." The two made it above deck, where Tanithil promptly plopped his fanny onto the stairs leading to the upper deck to hear what news the Captain had for them. He heard his name called, causing him to raise a hand in casual greeting with a "Yo!". Much to Tanithil's expectations, he would be in charge of making sure Ismael didn't get lobbed on his first real day in the world.

The crew received their orders, Arlen being forced to count the cargo and everyone else getting free reign to enjoy an unexpected vacation. He knew Amisra specifically would love a week to enjoy herself. He personally thought the girl worked herself too hard but she would likely tap his skull a little too hard if he voiced his concern. He jumped up from the stair and looked at Ismael with a grin on the side of his mouth. "Welcome to Port Vanarosa, friend. We got quite a bit we can do here. But first things first..." He briskly walked up to Amisra, tapping her on the shoulder and gesturing back to his 'young charge' as he would likely joke.

"I'm thinking he could use one of those fancy disguise rings. Think you could spare some cash and split the bill with me so we can protect the fate of the world?" He casually dropped that line and turned to partially face Ismael once more. "If not we can always try and....find one?"

Malachi had not been too entirely surprised that Vaeril had entrusted him with the aerokinetic. Having done some reading, he knew air magic could be tricky and Vaeril tended to challenge Malachi. However, he had not foreseen how much of a nuisance the human would be. Without fail, daily the young human tried to escape. In Malachi's opinion, he was unwilling to accept reality to the point of idiocy. River Port thankfully had been a short trip from their origin. One of his companions was Enstille, a light elf similar to him in nature, Malachi was initially grateful to have a quiet companion. But soon, Malachi found himself taking issue with Enstille's tendency to stare at things too long or get lost in a book too often.

The second issue was the worst part about Enstille: It was as if Enstille had never gone outside in his life. Malachi had even accused him of such after noticing his struggle with long-distance walking. He was one of the most out-of-shape individuals he had seen in his life, next to Jun, which was a whole other can of worms. Luckily enough with some questioning, Malachi found out Enstille was at least decent in terms of magical skill, especially with his shielding skill. As a result, he assigned Enstille guarding duty, especially when they were out and about, knowing he needed to be ready to shield Jun at any given moment.

Lastly, there was Zion, a towering lion demihuman with a disposition as warm as his frame. He had a love for hugs and an outgoing personality that was sometimes too much for Malachi. However, Malachi decided to ignore his drawbacks as it was important they had someone with athletic ability to aid him in a battle if the situation called for it. Malachi had no doubt Zion could hold his own just from the look of him.

Then there was Jun. Malachi couldn't help but roll his eyes whenever he thought of Jun. The guy was completely delusional and, to make matters worse, he had the physical fortitude of a twelve-year-old girl. There had been attempts over the week to start teaching Jun how to control his magic, but it wasn't the most productive considering he was mostly attempting to run away half the time. Thanks to Jun's antics, it took a day and a half to reach River Port when normally the travel time would have simply been a day.

As they arrived in River Port, the briny aroma of the sea and the dampness in the air filled their nostrils. he high-pitched cries of seagulls resonated through the busy port town, adding to the bustling atmosphere. The humble buildings that lined the cobbled streets appeared to be mainly residential, with families and individuals of various species coming and going. The architecture was simple, but with a charm that spoke to the town's seaside culture. Malachi did treat them to lunch on the boardwalk at the beach, but then immediately took them back to a small summer home that belonged to Malachi's mother. Luckily enough, she was not currently using it.

The cozy and quaint interior of the house accommodated each of them with their own bedroom. Malachi, being who he was, wasted no time in requesting everyone's assistance in cleaning up the place. He noticed the obvious neglect of the house and his mother's absence in maintaining it. He figured she must not have traversed down here in a while. With a stern look, he delegated tasks to each member of the group, including Jun, who had a habit of running away. Malachi resorted to spraying him with water, like a disobedient cat, whenever he misbehaved. To his credit, Zion remained patient and calm despite his youth, and Malachi tasked him with trying to reason with the strange human.

It was a spring morning in Apurel, a week later from when the four had begun their travel, that Malachi had knocked his fist on the wall by the staircase. "All of you. Up!" He called up the stairs unceremoniously. Malachi listened intently, waiting for the sound of movement from upstairs, then he knocked again impatiently. "I swear if they're still in bed.." He grumbled to himself.

"Come on, we have a long day ahead of us," he called out, his voice a mix of impatience and determination. He waited a few moments longer, his foot tapping on the hardwood floor as he grew more and more irritated by the second. It was then he felt his wrist start to vibrate. With a groan, he then answered the call and glared at the hologram of Drosis with a judgmental grimace.

He hung up before Drosis could even finish talking.

Of course the degenerate pirates took their human to the most lawless island there is.

As the graceful fairy flitted through the lush trees, her wings shimmered in the dappled sunlight. With each step, she tapped her toes silently from branch to branch, effortlessly navigating the forest canopy. She couldn't help but smirk to herself as she followed Menzai, feeling almost mischievous in her stealthy pursuit.

Finally, she came to a stop, looping herself around the trunk of a towering tree. From this vantage point, she watched as Menzai approached the two humans and Ulyses. The shadows of the branches and leaves of the thick canopy seemed to dance over the fairy's face as the sun broke through the cracks. Her long hair, magenta like the brightest blooms of a spring garden, flowed down her back in loose waves as she leaned forward to get a better view. Her amber eyes locked on the blue-haired demihuman.

He has no idea I'm here... How fun.

Her light pink dress flowed in the breeze as she watched with curiosity. It was a rare occasion for her to wear a dress, but she knew Menzai didn't approve of her usual clothing choices. After spending a long week looking after the two boys, she figured she could make an effort to not add stress onto Menzai's plate. And besides, the dress was undeniably pretty, adorned with delicate flowers she had added on herself. She wanted to look her best while hanging out with the two handsome human men, after all. The light pink hue of the dress complemented her skin and gave her a soft, feminine appearance.

"Phia... " came a soft voice in her ear. "Why are you stalking the males? ...Mating time?"

"Hey Flint." Phia said softly as she turned her head slightly to see a small little bluebird on her shoulder. She gave him a smile and ran her finger over his soft little head. "Well. I wanna go over there, but Menzai doesn't want me to." She informed the bird.

"Why not?"

"Apparently I'm distracting." Phia said with a pout that was not all that serious.

"Distracting? You? Nooo, never!" The bird began sarcastically. After a smirk from Phia, he relented, "You like to talk and you have a lot of shiny stuff." The bird replied, its beady eyes rapidly moving from each piece of jewelry with fascination. After a pause, he then added, a gleam in the bird's eye as he beckoned for chaos, "Go anyway."

"....Hmm maybe I should." Phia initially agreed. But it was at that moment she noticed Menzai striking Ulyses, and her expression turned serious. "Oh no. I think something bad happened..." She said, concern etched on her face. "Maybe I should help him out."

Phia clutched the tree trunk a little tighter. There were many who always misunderstood Menzai, who wasn't the most emotional of individuals to meet. However, she knew he had a wonderful heart that others just needed to take the time out to see. "It must be a lot of pressure for him to protect those humans while always wanting to keep me safe too... Maybe..." As she considered what could help Menzai the most, a mischievous grin suddenly stretched across her face. Phia let go of the trunk. She subsequently held out her hands and the bluebird hopped into her palms.

"Maybe I can get out of his hair for the day. I'm very annoying and shiny like you said sooo... I think it's high time for an adventure!" It wasn't often that she got to venture off alone for an extended period without Menzai tracking her down, so maybe this would be a win-win for both of them.

"Oh yes. He definitely hates you...Run while you can. Before he sees you!"

Phia beamed with excitement and nodded fervently. "We flee, Flint, we flee!" She then took off into the dense forest, her wings flapping furiously as she weaved in and out of the trees. The freedom was exhilarating and she was completely caught up in the feeling.

After a few minutes, she felt she was enough out of range and began to slow down. However, in her enthusiasm, she had been going a little too fast and had gone just a little too far. As she turned to check on Flint, she noticed she had way outflew him. Suddenly, she crashed headfirst into a tree trunk and tumbled down through the dense foliage.

As Phia crashed into the tree trunk, her body jolted and her wings flapped wildly in an attempt to regain her balance. The impact sent a shockwave through her body, and she felt a sharp pain shoot up her spine. She let out a small cry of pain as she tumbled through the air, her hair and clothes getting caught on branches and twigs as she fell. She fluttered her wings in time to get enough air to not hit the ground too hard.

Phia crash-landed with a thud all the same, the wind knocked out of her. Her wings fluttered weakly as she tried to catch her breath and get back on her feet. She groaned as she slowly sat up, wincing at the pain in her back. She brushed off the dirt and leaves from her clothes and hair, trying to regain some composure. As she leaned against the trunk, she looked around at her surroundings, trying to get her bearings and figure out where she had landed. It was clear she had flown further than she had intended, and now she was lost in an unfamiliar part of the forest.

Phia was concerned about this ordeal for perhaps a minute at most before she began to giggle.

I wanna do that again.

Time: Morning
Location: Forest; Near Guava Village
Interactions: Viola@13org
Equipment: A pack with some supplies, seeds (in his pockets), a small knife, a mask that hangs from his belt, a weapon with a shifting charm that is either a sickle or a glaive, and a shield/drum with an unbreakable charm.

Cypress watched in silence as the vines that wrapped around Viola uncoiled and snapped forth with the speed of a viper, striking a boar. It was quick, not even a struggle from the boar as its life fed another’s. The boar was exsanguinated just as quickly by the Blood Rose, which finished its meal and recoiled its thorny vine. A fascinating plant, like an apex predator, perfectly designed by nature to do what it needed and it thrived in its niche. Since Viola had never seemed shy about the Blood Rose, Cyrus chose to indulge his curiosity and always watched the plant as it fed. He found beauty in this sight, to see his sister bonded so closely with another life. This was an act of love; just as much care was put into tending to and feeding this unique plant as one might give to a beloved pet.

“Of course, now a brief moment for me and the boar that was,” Cyrus asked, setting his pack and shield on the ground, before walking toward the fallen boar. He knelt by the creature's side and moved his hand to gently close the boar’s eyes as he whispered a prayer for the boar. His other hand dipped into a pocket and pulled out a seed. Cyrus studied the seed for a moment before smiling. He dug a small hole next to the boar and planted the seed, resting his hand over the dirt until the seed began to sprout. He moved his hand upwards, slowly, as the sproutling followed until it grew into a full alaberry bush covered in ripe berries that wore a familiar shade of pink. He took this as a sign that they were on the right track.

He picked up his things and returned to his sister’s side ready to continue their journey through the forest nestled between River Port and The River Fairy Kingdom. Cyrus was just stubborn enough to refuse to call his home Riverbloom; because it had been stolen, it was never anyone else’s to rename.

“This is the closest I’ve been to home since…” He paused to watch the way the branches moved as a hearty breeze blew through the thick treetops. “And home is close enough that I feel it calling, and it also feels even further away.” Cyrus spoke as they walked through the heart of the forest far from any well-tread paths. He could feel it from his heart to his feet; a heaviness at walking further and further from a home he could not return to, the risk of being recognized was greater there than almost anywhere else.

Cyrus stopped and looked around, having heard a faint sound somewhere within the trees and trying to pinpoint the direction it had come from. One could never be too careful with all the dangerous creatures that lurked in the wilderness of Avalia. “Did you hear that?” He asked.

Time: Breakfast time!
Location: River Port; Malachi’s mom’s house
Interactions: Malachi @princess
Equipment: A halberd(always with him), and half-plate armor (left in the room).

The mighty lion was deep in slumber. He slept through the bright pink rays of the sun that draped over his face. He slept through the cries of gulls that flew outside. He slept through every sound that echoed through the home in River Port.

Zion was an exceptional sleeper, few things could rouse the resting lion. Including Malachi’s banging on the walls.

But the hungry stomach growled as the scent of food reached his nose; that was more than enough to seize Zion’s attention. His eyes shot open as a singular thought held his attention; breakfast time. He was dressed, caring his halberd, which was always within reach, and bonding down the stairs. He learned several days ago that Malachi very much disapproved of naked lions scavaging about the kitchen and was sure not to repeat the mistake.

His stomach growled again and the anticipation of breakfast left his tail swishing about with excitement. He nearly ran right into Malachi on his way toward the kitchen.

“Mighty Malachi! Glorious morning to you, are we ready to feast!” The lion's voice boomed louder than necessary, and a bright toothy smile spread across his face. He looked around, the others did not appear ready to report for breakfast. “Waky waky, eggs and bakey.” Once again his voice echoed through the house. Zion nodded at Malachi, helping him to rouse the others for the day’s most important meal.

“What’s for breakfast, sir?” He asked, his voice now a more reasonable volume, tail still twitching with excitement, as he sniffed at the air. The scents of freshly cooked food tickled his flared nostrils and again his stomach growled; the stomach was even less quiet than the lion.

Menzai Isanami

Time: Morning

Location: Gaurav

Interactions: Dante, Darius @Alivefalling @FunnyGuy
Mentions: Phia @princess Drosis @Blizz

Equipment: Enchanted White Haori, Gauravian luck charm bracelet, Transmission bracelet

Menzai remained silent and still, his eyes closed and breathing quiet; appearing like a statue as he gave no tell or sign of his feelings and thoughts. Within seconds all sounds of nature within the surrounding area went silent save for the words of the two brothers going on with their brotherly banter and teasing in thanks to Ulyses and his bothersome goading.

Time ticked away as the guardian they poked fun at maintained said pose, seeming to be in deep thought or possibly have fallen asleep. ( a foolish thought around this wolf)

Just then, Menzai's eyes open and what followed was an intensely sharp gaze hinted with a crimson glint. The unprepared brothers in the midst of their jest would suddenly feel an immense wave of bone chilling bloodlust aimed at them as birds, squirrels and other small critters scattering and taking flight out of fear. And for those few seconds Menzai unleashed such concentrated bloodlust that the humans thought they could see or envious a massive snarling wolf erupting around their *widdle* guardian, his ominous aura given form.

Then it was over, in a blink of the eye. The ominous bloodlust dissipating as his harsh expression softened once more and frayed ears relaxing and with it, nature released its breath returning life and activity aplomb around them.

His arms previously folded within the sleeves of his haori dropped down to his side though before saying anything or explaining, the silent wolf turned his head, peering over his shoulder to peer off in the direction he heard the departing flaps of a certain fairy.* I am thankful she left though I do worry where she flew off to.* Concern creased his forehead as he stared off after Phia; appearing as if he might run off after her, but then his head turned back towards the brothers.

Deciding to trust Phia to be able to handle herself as while she could not fight, both he and Ulyses have taught her all she needed for survival. And long as she made sure to not leave the vicinity of the forest or venture into the mist she should be fine, plus now the risk of her intruding and disrupting the training session was moot to his relief. Still, Menzai could not help but constantly worry for the sweet fairy and so put such thoughts to the back of his mind for the time being.

With his worries settled, Menzai took a single step towards Dante and Darius, observing their reactions closely as he did so." What you humans have just felt is true, uncurdled bloodlust. Can either of one of you two explain the purpose of the demonstration that I have just displayed?" He asked while motioning towards them with his right hand where, at that moment a vibrating buzz could be felt against his wrist, the translator clasping his wrist indicating a call.

" Apologies. A moment." Said with a somewhat annoyed sigh as he turned his back to them to answer the call. A hologram of this Drosis soon formed upon pressing the button.

All channels, this is Captain Morr speaking.

We expect little trouble, so long as Ismael doesn’t cause a scene. Should that happen, we will confine him to the lower deck until further notice. That is all. Morr out.

Menzai listened quietly as he watched the hologram speak with a status report, their current location and what their plans were. A look of uneased etched his face as he studied this Drosis. Thinking back to the day the humans arrived and how unsatisfied he was with the idea of any humans being under the care and influence of pirates. To leave humans with such shady and..unpleasant ilk, but that wasn't to say there weren't pirates that were good or at the very least a somewhat decent moral code. If this Drosis had been invited for such opportunity then...

Still, while he did not agree with the notion he knew it was not his place to speak. As there was little else he could do, Menzai could only hope the other humans were doing well and safe. They may have been brought here to help save the land (albeit with no choice) but as the ones responsible for bringing them to this world it stood to reason that their safety was of utmost importance.

A difficult task Menzai intended to take to heart and as he turned to face the brothers after dispensing with the bracelet, peering at Dante and Darius; weak humans who lacked the capabilities to defend themselves in these unknown lands or the full understanding of the dangers that waited for them, lurking just outside these woods.

Two bumbling brothers who seemed to enjoy goofing around, especially with each other. Weak, clueless and simpleminded and lacking proper teamwork; all of which Menzai was dedicated to changing. What the pair lacked, however, they made up for with their enthusiasm and heart. Taking all these factors into consideration, he decided the best approach was through patience and taking things step by step.

Already their lesson had started and with the added time to think thanks to the call, Menzai would motion towards them once more." With the time given, I have hope that each of you has gleaned the answer?"

While Viola thought that the prayer and the symbolic action of closing the boar's eyes was unnecessary, she could still understand the beauty behind the ritual Cyrus performed whenever she they stopped to feed her rose. Even if she didn't care about the respect he offered to the dead creature nor the prayer, the act of planting a seed and making it sprout next to the boar was indeed a beautiful action. There would be many creatures which would feast in the dead carcass of the boar, before it rotted and returned to the earth. When that happened, it would serve as nutrition for the bush Cyrus planted. Other creatures would come to feed on the bush's berries, which would be hunted, only to be consumed and have their remains rot and decay into the earth. No matter where, death was always followed by life.

For Viola, there was nothing more beautiful than the cycle of life, no matter of how cruel and violent it could be... While she and her actions symbolized the end, Cypress' embodied the beginning. Both sides, while opposite from each other, were an integral and necessary part of the cycle of life itself. That small fact gave her a bit of solace when she reflected about her and her brother's relationship. No matter how much she had changed or how different they became, there was still something that would bring them close to each other, even if it was merely their roles towards the cycle of life.

Viola watched, keeping a respectful silence until Cypress was done with his ritual, before she nodded towards him when he was done. As they began to walk once more, Cyrus mentioned 'home', referring to the old River Fairy Kingdom, now called Riverbloom. Upon hearing that word, Viola's expression had a discreet, but still noticeable change.

"Home is a word that lost it's meaning to me a long time ago, brother Cypress... All the years I spent as a prisoner on Daka Island... Stuck in a 'luxury' cell, every single day being fed false kindness only to be tortured and experimented soon after... Waiting for a rescue that never came." Viola said, the vines around her body twitching and moving uncomfortably, a reflection of her current mood.

"Even if I did remember how 'home' truly felt like, it wouldn't matter. My home is gone Cyrus... Gone with the fall of the Kingdom, the slaughter of our family and many of our siblings. Gone to never return. The River Fairy Kingdom was my home. Riverbloom is not." Viola said in a cold, harsh tone.

"I wouldn't care even if Riverbloom was burned to the ground. The only thing I care is finding my missing siblings... Or at least knowing if they are still alive and well." Viola finished, with a twinge of hatred and resentment suddenly appearing on her expression and tone, only to quickly disappear into her usual, emotionless expression once again.

Their conversation was soon cut short though, as Cypress alerted her to a faint, but suspicious noise coming from somewhere around them. While it was a faint noise, Viola knew better than to just dismiss it as being nothing. Any different, suspicious noise, no matter how small it was, could be anything from dangerous creatures to people that might be after her.

"I did, brother Cypress." Viola said, as the vines around her began to unfurl, preparing to attack in case something approached them.

Time: Week after the summoning.
Location: Riverbloom, Books and Cookies
Interactions: Aurora @mole, Zora @13org
Equipment: Shortswords, Transmission bracelet.

Cake. We're eating CAKE. Rowan sighed again as he poked at his cake with the fork before speaking up, unable to hold his thoughts back any longer.

"Sister. We waste time dawdling here. There is much to be done, Zora has much to learn if she is to be of any use." He flashes Zora a pained smile with this remark. "Not that you aren't doing well. Quite well in fact. Which is why we must continue with training. Our enemies will discover what has happened in time and the more prepared we are, the better."

In truth, Rowan was immensely impressed with Zora and the talent she shows. It's as if in her previous life, the sea has already obeyed her, magic or not. Pair that with her unique fighting style with that sickle of hers and she would soon be more than capable of keeping herself alive. Soon however, is never soon enough. Rowan knew that time was limited. Anything they did now was an extra ounce of leverage, an extra stone on the scales. This war would come. And he'd be damned if it was lost because of lack of preparation.

A simple motion of Aurora's was all it took to shut him up. Just a subtle change in her body language that most would miss, a dipped shoulder here, a twitch to her smile there. Without words she told him, Shut it and eat your cake.. And eat his cake he did. Too late, he realized his bite was larger than what is proper as his cheeks bulged out, filled. With surprise, he quite enjoyed the cake. It was filled with a fruit that he had not had since the war and his time with the fairy squad.

Considerably less grumpy after eating, Rowan sat and observed the overflowing sweetness his sister was able to display. Always able to put others at ease and soothe the aches of the heart, she was. It was good that she was here. Left to his own devices, he would probably break the poor human, training her as he saw fit. As it was, he could see aspects of Zora's character that concerned him. Some attributes and tendencies that reminded him a little too much of the dark elves they fought against. Rowan would make a soldier, Aurora would make a savior.

Before he could wrap up the break and get back to business, the transmission bracelet on his wrist came to life. Captain Morr's voice came across as he felt the need to update everyone of their current plans.

"I swear to Solaris, if he keeps with these 'regular updates' of his, I'm going to disconnect his link. We get it, you have a human too. We just don't need to know every time they bathe." He allowed himself a small smirk and a chuckle at the absurdity of it and how many regulations it would be breaking.
