Aerilyn Nalani

Time: Late Morning
Location: The Nest, Roshmi
Interactions: Mari @princess, Thrash @funnyguy
Current Equipment:
, mithril breastplate with Deflection enchantment, Strength enchantment gloves, adventuring clothes, large survival backpack, two large red potions, three pink potions, two black potions, cooking pot, portable fira, teeth cleanser, body cleanser, time teller, darksight glasses, travel shelter, portable bed, small pillow, lantern, flask, rope, wayfinder, fire starter kit.

Aerilyn found herself entranced in the chaos of battle. As her warhammer clashed against the Warforged's sword, she was taken aback by the mechanical precision of her adversary. However, her astonishment was short-lived.

In a heart-stopping moment, Aerilyn watched as a searing-hot hand descended toward her. Panic gripped her, but just as the fiery appendage was about to make contact, a radiant barrier of energy materialized around her form, shielding her from harm. Thinking on her feet, Aerilyn swiftly ducked beneath the Warforged's follow-up attack, feeling the heat emanating from the enemy's hand. In an instant, she dashed forward, slipping out of the Warforged's reach, her senses sharpened by the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Aerilyn stopped once she was far enough away and allowed the Light Elf to continue speaking and the warforged to answer.

Equipment: Backpack, fishing net, fishing pole, 3 medium red potions, 3 small blue potions, 1 green potion, fire starting kit, poncho, rope, frogfly named “Beebee,” cooking pot, hygiene pouch, water purifier, wooden spear, handcrafted bow and arrows, knife, wool blanket

Today couldn’t get any better for the simian demihuman as he napped against the smooth bark of a beech tree underneath his wool blanket. His snoring filled the air carrying a cool breeze over grasslands cresting the mouth of the river that led to the vast Avalian sea. For Eros, this was his home, his freedom, and a pleasant chapter of his life that he didn’t wish to let go of. He didn’t have riches or a sense of adding any productivity to society but living in his bubble of bliss and privilege was enough for him. The monks at North Pass would have never let him take a morning nap. Hell, who knew something such as it were a thing? His only troubles these days were catching enough fish for the day and his occasional visits to Roshmi to purchase items he couldn’t make himself.

Just above his head, a tiny frogly named Beebee flew about as the jingle of a bell could be heard at the bank of the river mouth. His wings buzzed with each ring of the bell that was meant to alert Eros of a hefty catch in his fishing net. Still, Eros slumbered, his chest rising and falling with each steady breath. Interestingly enough, it was the rhythmic chirp from Beebee that woke Eros. He was rather slow in waking, first, ceasing his snoring before giving his eyes a few seconds to blink themselves open.

“Bee… bee,” he said sheepishly. Eros rubbed his eyes and peered up at the pudgy chirping creature. “Can’t you see I’m napping? And I was having such” Though he scowled, he sat himself up, finding no sense in going back to sleep since the frogfly was chirping and there was that awful bell ringing in the distance. Bell? My bell? Yes, my bell!

Eros jumped up to his feet with a lively smile, clenching his fists.

“HA! I caught something big too!” A joyous laughter escaped him as he ran down to the bank with little Beebee following behind him still chirping to the sound of the bell. “Sell or eat? What do you think I should do, Beebee?” He asked as he approached the rattling bell hanging from a rope tied to both a sturdy tree trunk and the net in the water. “Heh…” Eros gripped the rope with both hands before he pulled in his catch, hand over hand. The excitement continued to build within his fuzzy chest as he felt the weight of his potential next meal. Beebee seemed to cheer him on but was simply chirping over his shoulder. The dorsal fin of the creature could be seen first, making Eros widen his eyes even further. At that moment, he made his decision. He’d fill his belly with this prize and resume his nap until the next catch of the day. The dark blue scales indicated it could be tuna. No wonder it was so big. Bearing his teeth, Eros’ fur bristled as he pulled the fish from the river with all of his might.

However, his expression starkly changed to one of wonder as he noticed the pale skin, arms, hands, fingers, head, and head of his tasty tuna. Narrowing his eyes, he walked over to the exhausted merwoman trapped in his net.

“You’re supposed to be a tuna. What are you doing in my net, fish lady?” He asked as he raised an eyebrow. “Fish lady? Hmm… How does it go? How does it go? Umm… Have fun in the morning with… No, that’s not it. Beware of glows at night? No not that either.” He said as his amber eye met hers.

Location: River
Interactions: Aurora/Rowan @mole Zora @13org
Mentions: None
Equipment: Longsword and Plate Armor

A traveler from far away? Now that she mentioned it, this tattooed woman, underneath all the ornaments and body designs, Zora looked different from the species he had encountered. Not the colored skins trolls and orcs, nor the knife's edge ears of the elves. Who is she, or rather what is she?

Barrock didn't really get an opportunity to ask though, as a tick crawled in his head as he heard.

"It's B-A-R-..." He couldn't get to correcting her before Rowan jumped in and answered his previous question. His two eyes closed and his grip tightened on his sword slightly, just letting all that fumes out. It was nothing serious, no need to get angry...

The more important aspect at least is what the group is supposedly here for. He was given a way out, and Barrock immediately assumed that the information was exchanged, he would be stuck with them. When put it that way, it seemed like he did require a lot of deliberation.

Barrock closed his eyes again, taking several deep breathe.

"I never intended for something more than a spar coming here." He stated, his blood-colored eyes stared directly at Rowan, with solemnity but not necessarily hateful. "But, since you are giving me the light of day, unlike others, I will consider. What is in it for me, if I join?"

Time: Morning
Location: Forest; Near Gaurav Village
Interactions: Viola@13org, Phia@princess, Darius@FunnyGuy, Dante@Alivefalling, Menzai@samreaper
Equipment: A pack with some supplies, seeds (in his pockets), a small knife, a mask that hangs from his belt, a weapon with a shifting charm that is either a sickle or a glaive, and a shield/drum with an unbreakable charm.

"...Sometimes it's a little nerve-wracking to let a stranger in for supper when you have a home full of your beloved family members."

It was strange to hear Phia refer to the wolfmen not only as her people but as her family. Stranger to hear Viola and himself be placed in the role of strangers rather than family. Cyrus’s face maintained a stoic expression, despite Phia’s simple words dealing a more damaging wound than the Roc.

He could hold no ill will towards the canine villagers, they had taken in his youngest sister and kept her safe, made her feel like a part of their family. He could hold no grudge against Phia for lost memories. He knew what it was to slowly loose the hope of seeing family again, to feel doubt slinking in, grapping hold of unanswered questions and filling the void with the worst possible outcomes. He did not wish that suffering for Phia, he tried to focus on being grateful that Phia had not spent her time feeling lonely or abandoned.

He thought over Phia’s words until they led him to something he could smile at, and then nodded his understanding. But his smile faded as they continued walking, and he wondered if telling Phia anything would only be cruel and selfish. Was there too much loss in the truth, if Phia’s mind was protecting her from the past who were they to override that? Without those past memories was Phia even still Ophelia or now simply someone new, someone whose family was a village of wolf-demihumans, who was happy and didn’t want strangers for family? Or was this doubt filling in the unknown. A weight far heavier than Dante’s tired frame bore down.

The greeting from the village was a sea of mistrusting stares. Eyes that followed as if they were a band of dark elf soldiers rather than friendly travelers. He wondered if they somehow knew, on instinct, that both Viola and he carried information that could hurt Phia. He noticed how fully integrated Phia was here, how she smiled at those she referred to as her people. Maybe this really was the best place for her. Maybe she already had more than enough family.

The restaurant Phia brought them too, once Dante had been cared for, was simplistic and held much of the comfort of the forest inside its walls. Cyrus took a seat shortly after Phia. “A hot meal, good company, and a lovely ambiance, what more could travelers ask for?” But as the words left him, he remembered countless family meals with not just two of his sisters present, but the rest of his family too, alive and together. Phia had lost those memories too, but were they still good memories when they came with the pain of knowing that times like those would never happen again?

Kenia was already ahead of Malachi, having made herself and the child invisible while leaving an illusory form of them in the same spot they were. She knew it wouldn’t last long, but she only had to get them far enough away for the little one to be safe. But before they could get far, she watched in horror as Zion was hit by the spider’s acid. ”Shit!” She cursed as the gruesome reality of the situation hit her like a tidal wave. Her mind raced, swift as the coursing river, assessing the situation and calculating her next moves. "Run towards that man there, stay close to him!" she whispered urgently to the child, her voice carrying the weight of a hundred promises to protect as she glanced at Jun as her invisibility dropped. She knew he likely wasn’t the best option for protecting the child, but she knew they had little choice with Zion now down. She swiftly turned her attention back to the unfolding nightmare before her.

Rage, hot and fierce, engulfed her as she saw Zion writhing in agony. She had come to actually like the demihuman in the hour she’d known him and to see him in such pain like that pissed her off. The protective instinct that had spurred her into action blazed into an inferno. Without a second thought, she unleashed her concealed fury upon the giant spiders.

She moved with the grace of a shadow and the ferocity of a storm. Her hands, infused with the power of light, became deadly weapons. She struck like a viper, swift and precise, aiming for the vulnerable spots on one of the spiders' bodies. The other one she sent a bright flash of light towards its many eyes, attempting to blind it to some capacity. Her movements were a dance of death, each strike calculated to incapacitate her enemies swiftly and efficiently.

The remaining bandits ran away with tails between their legs when they saw they were beat. Not without proclaiming that they’d ‘get them’. You picked a losing fight. Idiots,” Arlen commented quietly. Well, if they were stupid enough to try this again, then he and his crew could kill them next time. Simple as that.

A part of him itched to strike, now, but with Amisra injured? It was for the best this way. “Take care of her,” he shouted to Tanithil. The dark elf secured the princess, and headed back to the ship. The captain, too, had business to take care of. So, it was just him and Ismael now. They’d have to be more careful, maybe, with just the two of them, and with this attack that had only been recently sprung on them.

Arlen rolled the dead fairy off the roof, and the body landed beneath with a thud. He also jumped down, but landed into a roll, expertly avoiding damage.

“Yeah, let’s check if these guys have anything worth taking on them. Then we can just go chuck ‘em into the sea. This place ain’t too fussy about killin'…I’m more worried about those who’ve left alive and now’ve got us marked. We should lay low, get what supplies we need, maybe check if those guys are known to have nasty connections.”

Then, out of nowhere, Arlen regained some of his cheery demeanour. “But hey, I can always show you ‘round town. Let’s see some better things than killin’ thugs, huh?”

While at first Viola was glad to see Ophelia was still the same kind girl she always knew, worrying not only about her and Cyrus' well being. But the moment she mentioned the words 'friends and family', Viola felt a surge of negative feelings storming her mind, a dark side of her that was influence from the experiments and the incomplete 'reeducation' process she underwent back in Daka Island...

Did Ophelia really forget about everything? About her siblings and what happened to their family... Did she really forget about her... Or had she deliberately abandoned them? Abandoned Viola to suffer by herself in Daka Island? Abandoned her siblings, forgot about her family and everything that happened to them?
But still, it was undeniable that Ophelia... or better, 'Phia' was happy where she was right now. Even though she forsook her name and who she was. Should they really try to make Ophelia remember who she was or should they just let 'Ophelia' stay dead and let 'Phia' live her new life? Even if that was the case, did Ophelia really deserve such peace and happiness, after having abandoned her... Abandoned all of them? Why was she entitled to such happiness after Viola had suffered so much?

Even though it was a very subtle change, her brother Cypress would likely have noticed Viola's expression getting darker and if not, the vines shifting uncomfortably around her body while an internal conflict raged inside her mind. Even after they entered the small village after being guided by Phia, Viola's expression remained the same, too distracted by her internal conflict to even notice the stares of mistrust and almost hostility directed at them as they made their way to a small restaurant.

"Some food... would be nice indeed..." Viola said after a few seconds.

The time they took to get to the village and the small restaurant they were in at the moment did seem to be enough for Viola's mental to get a bit more... stable. At least for now.

Time: One week after Zora arrived into Avalia.
Location: Riverbloom, The River
Interactions: Aurora @mole, Barrock @Conscripts, Rowan

Zora watched, curious as Rowan expressed his reluctance in disclosing any more information about their 'training' than what he deemed necessary, undoubtedly in order to avoid any possible problem regarding information leak. It didn't take long until Aurora interceded for Barrock, mentioning that perhaps they might be able to trust him.

"Aurora's approval of Barrock already has a great deal of weight for me regarding whether to trust him or not. Besides, I do consider myself being quite a good judge of character and despite our brief first meeting, Barrock doesn't seem like someone who would betray others after giving his word." Zora said, looking to Barrock with a brief smile.

When Barrock asked what would he get for joining them, Zora let out a mischievous smirk, of someone that not only already expected such answer, but would be in fact, disappointed if it wasn't the case. It was good to know some rules remained the same, whether she was in her old world or here in Availa.

While back in her world, a favor from 'the' Zora Sene would be worth more than an entire ship and the lives of it's crew, she was well aware that here in Avalia, her name did not carry nearly as much weight as it used to... At least for now. Besides, she had little to offer regarding riches or material possessions, seeing how she had arrived on Avalia only a few days ago.

"As Rowan said though, this... 'mission' is not free of danger and ultimately, it is your choice whether you decide to help us or not. Regardless, I can assure you that your help will be rewarded, should you decide to assist us." Zora said with a calm expression before she looked to Rowan, as if waiting to see what he was willing to offer Barrock for his help.

Five's talons landed as expected, though, to his displeasure, they collided with something other than demihuman flesh. A defensive barrier snapped into reality before he could inflict severe pain and injury on his target and blocked his retaliatory strike. Supernatural sparks and lightning arced from the collision. It was the rabbit girl's barrier enhancement kicking in, another fact he had also expected, begrudgingly. Simply observing her shocked reaction regarding his potentially death-dealing claws informed Five that she had been caught unawares, and were it not for her enhancement, to say the least, she would have been yet one more problem resolved following Thrash's self-inflicted removal from the stage of battle. Five still had trouble processing or conceiving the rationale as to why the dragonborn failed to consider his early ploy and simply stumbled through it. Or, more specifically, breathing the visually sickly haze into his lungs and getting himself paralyzed. Given Thraash's biology and bodily chemistry, Five estimated that his scaly foe would be incapacitated for at least several minutes.

Plenty of time to rap this affair up.

Ever observant of his surroundings, Five watched as the long-eared demihuman, likely realizing her predicament, dived under his left arm, making a break for it and putting distance between himself and her. The moment she moved away, so true did her barrier, causing his smoldering left hand to fall through the now empty space and seize only air. Though at the heat of the moment, he attempted to take another swing at her, prompting his left arm to coil back and lash out. Yet he came to a screeching halt as his body seized up. The previous shockwave was still haunting him and interfered with the gears and servos that guided his limbs. Five growled as he recoiled and pivoted to face his seemingly only opponent left, actively fighting him. Though he had kept an eye on Mari, he noted how much of her efforts in their battle hadn't impacted him in any meaningful way. Five could even admit he had nearly forgotten about her. That is until she spoke up again.

"Hey!... BIG BOY! Time out! Why are you even doing this? Are they paying you a mountain of amas or something? I mean, I respect the grind and all, but seriously, hear me out," Five considered ignoring her again but seeing as though Thraash was out of commission and the rabbit girl was practically on standby, he silently allowed her to speak her piece. If anything, it simply gave him time to internally correct the mechanical deviations plaguing him, "... What if we have a job that can pay you more? I know it sounds like I'm grasping at straws because you're totally kicking ass... Buuut! If you like amas as much as we do, maybe you should hear us out. If you don't like what we have to say, then you can always continue trying to crush us. You seem like you're confident in your ability to do so it will hurt you absolutely none to chill out like five seconds."

<<YOU TALK TOO MUCH,>> Five loudly hissed as two jets of steam spewed from his facial vents.

Although she hadn't said it specifically, Five translated her speech as a plea deal in hopes of encouraging him to call off his assault. It was a good idea; aside from the fact he had them on the ropes, the opportunity to make more money was promising. However, the offer was made very late in the game. With one-third of their number dealt with, he could better manage the fight against the pair still standing against him. At that moment, his right arm made a series of loud metal clangs, followed by a few sparks spilling out from its joints. His arm had recovered from the shockwave, most of it anyway. This rejuvenating fact gave Five an idea. He would undoubtedly hear Mari's offer, but it would be on his terms. He pivoted again, slightly turning his chest plate towards the light elf, informing her he would regard her words.

<<YOU ASK WHY I AM DOING THIS. A PRICE HAS BEEN PLACED ON YOURS, AND THRAASH'S, HEADS. I AM A BOUNTY HUNTER, AND YOU ARE PREY,>> It was then Five began walking towards Thraash though his upper posture remained fixed.

<<YOU, MARI, OFFERED AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF EMPLOYMENT, SUGGESTING SUCH AN APPOINTMENT WOULD BE MORE PROFITABLE THAN TURNING THE TWO OF YOU IN, DEAD OR ALIVE,>> the moment Five reached Thraash's stunned and twitching body, he raised his right hand as high as he could and rotated it, prompting the sword within its grasp to turn along with it downward until the tip of the massive weapon was aligned with the dragonborn's neck. Five's red eyes seemed to glow brighter than ever before, <<QUERY: WHY SHOULD I ACCEPT YOUR PROPOSAL WHEN I CAN DISPATCH YOUR COMPANION NOW AND ELIMINATE YOU SOON AFTERWARDS? IF YOUR 'JOB' WILL BE MORE LUCRATIVE THAN THE PRICE OF YOUR HEADS COMBINED, AS YOU CLAIM, THEN ELABORATE.>>

Five oversaw the three. Though he was putting Thraash's fate in Mari's hands, he was genuinely interested in what kind of offer the light elf would have to formulate to get her and her partner out of this new situation. If she tried anything, he would end the dragonborn without hesitation. He would give Thraash the same courtesy should he somehow recover faster than expected. However, he doubted that would be an issue. The only concern he had, as slight as it was, was the girl with the hammer. By distancing herself, she gave Five the advantage of time to predict and formulate a countermeasure should she try to charge him again. Yet it is evident by now that she somehow had a role in this, too. He prepared for her report, should it be with more violence or diplomacy.

No matter the case, he would get what he wanted.

Giant Spiders

Time: Morning
Location: River Port
Interactions: Kenia @Tae, Malachi @princess, Zion @helo, Jun @JJ Doe

The spider, which had descended upon Zion, recoiled in agony under the relentless onslaught. An arrows pierced its chitinous hide, infused with the radiant power of light magic. The arachnid monstrosity hissed and screeched, its venomous fangs gnashing in pain, its multiple eyes blinded by the searing brilliance.
Overwhelmed by the ferocity of the attack, the spider convulsed and writhed violently, its enormous form contorting in agony. But the relentless barrage with various slashes persisted, until the creature finally succumbed, its once menacing presence now reduced to a lifeless, twisted mass.

As the events unfolded high above in the canopy of trees, the second spider narrowly missed ensnaring the child in its web. Instead, it cunningly altered its course, redirecting its trajectory towards Zion and deftly latching onto his back. Safely concealed amidst the leafy branches, the spider initiated a subtle tug, drawing the lion demi-human closer into the labyrinth of the forest canopy, all while the other intruders remained transfixed by the now lifeless body of its fallen companion.

Jun spent more time in the hospital growing up than most children. Not because he was sick all the time or anything dramatic. It was just that Dr. Ibuki had no one else to watch her son during her long and unpredictable shifts. As a single parent with no relatives nearby or alternative childcare options, and nosy neighbors itching to call social services if they spotted a minor home alone, she often had no choice but to bring Jun to work with her.

The hospital admins grudgingly allowed it, willing to bend the rules to keep their understaffed ER running. At least Jun was a quiet, self-contained kid. As long as he wasn't causing trouble, everyone looked the other way.

He'd seen things there in the hospital. Crash victims with shattered bones. Gushing gunshot wounds. Fourth-degree burns from fires. Overdoses. Seizures. Psychotic breaks. You name it.

And if he learned anything from all that, it was this: Zion's pain was real. The sheer intensity of his screams and the way his eyes bulged in terror as the acid threatened to eat his arm down to the bone. Even if all else in Avalia was a lie, Zion's suffering was the one honest truth.

Jun's entire world narrowed down to the melting arm. He became oblivious to everything else around him. He only saw the venom chew through skin and muscle, releasing wisps of smoke into the air. The hiss and pop of acid dissolving tissue and Zion's tortured wails drowned out all other sounds.

Wash it off, a small part of Jun's brain not paralyzed by shock, said. Water. His head swiveled frantically, searching for supposedly the most common substance found on earth with no luck. Thoughts skipped and stuttered like a failing engine. Water water water water—

—Wait. Was Zion floating? A silk thread glinted in the light lancing through the canopy as if it were a length of fishing line, with a spider as the lure, the lion as its catch.

"Water!" Jun blurted out when he meant to say spider. The kid (who materialized out of nowhere) flinched at the random outburst, which startled him too. They locked eyes. Jun's own fear and helplessness reflected back at him. He quickly looked away, down to Zion's large hunting knife still gripped tight in his hand.

"You are Avalia's greatest hope…" No. He wasn't. Not by a long shot. He didn't have the power to save anyone, let alone himself.

For a moment, he thought about flinging the knife at the spider, but odds were he'd hit Zion instead of freeing him. There were many things Jun was incapable of doing and rescuing Zion was just one of them. Best leave the gallantry to Malachi and the lady.

But maybe… even he couldn't mess up fetching water… right?

Jun forced himself to look back at the kid, trying to remember how the staff at the hospital talked to scared children. "We, um, we need water for, uh, the lion guy. Can… you show me where?" Something close to disappointment flashed across their face. Coward. Jun pushed past those all-too-familiar feelings and held out a trembling hand. "The others got this. Please, help me?" He wouldn't have been surprised if the kid refused. But they were brave where Jun was weak. They took his hand in their own shaky grip and led him away, leaving the others to deal with the Acromantula.

“Lose a wing huh? I think I’d rather lose a leg, flying beats running any day.” Bowyn teased as he walked alongside Rue. “But I guess we’ll have to settle for not losing Bardulf, wouldn’t to run out of limbs to gamble with too early.” He added with a small smile as he looked over the options at the small bakery. Honey toast was the cheapest option and that made his choice easy.

The peaceful break for a snack was soon broken by Mister Luum shouting about ears. Zeva’s ears. An outburst that seemed to come out of nowhere but considering the source it wasn’t surprising either. Bowyn looked at Luum, then at Zeva, and shrugged. “You do have big ears.” He said in a neutral tone, neither an insult nor a compliment. He wondered for a moment if large ears meant better hearing before it was his turn to order.

“Two honeyed toast.” He paused, his stomach growled; he was definitely hungrier than two slices of toast. “And an alaberry custard.” He added after another moment of thought. He thanked the baked and stepped aside so Bardulf could order.

Once he got his food, Bowyn held the small bowl of custard in one hand and cupped his other hand over the top. It was too hot in Roshmi, it was too hot just about anywhere south of home. As he thought about his village, about the crisp air and near-constant blanketing of snow, he felt the familiar chill of his frost magic. First, his hands and his fingers felt cold, then the bowl he held felt cold as well, until finally, the custard started to freeze. Now, far more satisfied with his order he grabbed the plate of honeyed toast off the counter. Honeyed toast and frozen alaberry custard, now that was a proper breakfast treat.

Rowan studied Barrock. His silver-blue eyes narrowed. His posture was more erect and formal, now but with folded arms. “More than you are expecting. I can assure you.” The Light Elf closed his eyes and drew in a calm, calculated breath. When he opened his eyes, a cunning smirk had marked his mouth, and his eyes were more tested. “You will gain freedom from the Dark Elves alongside a high honor for your established efforts.” His eyes were glittering in the daylight, now.

“We would be honored to have you join us,” Aurora added. Her voice was light, trying to carry the same air of confidence that her brother was holding. Her milky eyes cast downward. “I believe it is a good sign that we have crossed paths.” She wanted to show the same confidence as her brother.

They were both prone to worry, but Rowan understood how to turn his worry into determination. Aurora, on the other hand, could feel her worry draining her powers of insight, at times. It was no wonder that they made her brother the leader. The best she could do was hope neither Zora nor Barrock could feel her sense of unease. And with that, she turned to Zora and offered her a pleasant smile. She could never be more thankful for Zora's strength in character.

Ain't this a bitch. Can't move. Can't fight. Shit, I can't even get the Muse Box going………

FUCK!

Thraash continued to lie on the ground as he watched and listened to the events that followed, though he couldn't give a damn anymore. If he couldn't enjoy the battle, what was even the point? Eventually he heard Mari pipe up with some sort of crazed angle of reasoning.

Pay him? Just let him cut your head off… or fuckin run for the hills. If I know anything, Warforged don't sell out, and not because they're solid either. Damn one-track minded scraps of metal!

Thraash's tail lightly slapped the floor in his frustration... The feeling of his scales plopping against the hardwood floor brought him focus.

Just a little longer… JUST A LITTLE LONGER YOU TIN CAN MOTHERFUCKER! His toes and fingers began to twitch and curl weakly. FIRST THE MUSIC! THEN THE RAGE!

DARIUS

Time: Morning
Location: Gaurav Village
Interactions: Dante @Alivefalling, Cyrus @Helo, Ophelia @princess and Viola [13org]
Equipment: 2 shot glasses, 1036 Amas total, Flowers from Phia, Dante’s cellphone, and Dante’s knife

Despite not being physically injured at all, the warm feeling received from Phia’s healing magic still sent a pleasant wave of delight across his skin. For just a moment – a fraction of a second Darius considered whether the fairy or her magic produced the feeling. His eyes followed hers as he scanned over him like a peculiar item in her grasp.

“We can fetch him a potion once we get there. I am sure we have plenty.”

“Y-yeah.” Darius almost stammered before returning a matching smile to Phia’s. “And thanks.” His voice came out soft as he tried to regain his previous composure. It proved a bit difficult considering how good he now felt.

With not many more words to exchange, the group proceeded into the village so Dante’s fatigue could be tended to. He was given a bottle filled with a blue elixir that was meant to help him in his troubled state. Darius wondered if something like that could cure a hangover Time will tell, I guess.

With Dante’s fatigue dealt with, the group made their way further into the village. It wasn’t hard for Darius to realize things were off as the two newcomers received odd looks and longing stares. He shot a warm smile at Cyrus and Viola in an effort to help the two feel at least a little welcomed in Gaurav while Phia alleviated the tension of the onlookers. It was hard to determine if any of it was working but the two had to make an attempt. Darius did notice Viola’s troubled expression, which made his heartwarming smile uneasy. I do know it’s not working on her. Girl needs to chill.

Through the winding stone path, they eventually reached a restaurant he was somewhat familiar with. Darius enjoyed its homey atmosphere and the food was quite tasty as well. Just stepping inside and taking in the scent of savory food prepared himself for the meal that was to come.

Darius wound up taking a seat, placing himself beside Phia who sat across from Cyrus, leaving him sitting face-to-face with Viola who was looking a bit better than moments before.

“What more can you ask for? And some food?” Darius grinned cheekily as his eyes met Cyrus’ “More food.” He answered before looking at Viola. A lot of food. Come on now, we won a big battle that Gaurav will tell about for centuries. I always follow up a big fight with an even bigger meal. It’s just too bad we couldn’t cook the bird.” He shrugged with the final comment meant especially for Viola.

Amisra,Tanithil, and Sirena

Tanithil raced throughout the port town of Vanarosa, his gaze shooting to either side of the street for any oncoming threats or innocent people walking in his forward path. He stuck to the lesser traveled streets, as two dark elves sprinting in broad daylight would garner ample attention. He narrowly avoided several head-on collisions by sharply changing directions with what reserves of magic he had left. As he finally approached the docks, he skipped the long walk around and up the pier and simply conjured a thick mist underneath them both that carried them aboard the Saltrunner. Once on board, he ran below deck, sharply replying to the other crew members if they tried to stop him. ”Step in front of me and I kick ya square in the groin hard enough ya won’t walk right for a day!”

Needless to say no one impeded his descent into the lower decks. He knelt down, carefully placing his dear friend onto her particular cot. For the first time over several minutes, he finally had a moment to catch his breath. His heart pounded in his chest as his lungs desperately clung for what little oxygen it could between his rapid breaths. He ran his hands along her arms, her legs, her sides, her back, just about anywhere he could try and find any source of a broken bone or perhaps some form of internal bleeding. ” Sorry, Amisra. Not tryin’ ta feel you up but I gotta make sure the fucker didn’t break you…” He softly spoke. It seemed the impact left several marks, perhaps some bruises, but there was definitely a fracture or two beneath the surface he could not see. But the way she reacted as he poked and prodded would tell him all he needed to know. She was hurt, and it worried him deeply. He turned on his feet and ran around the corner to where they kept spare medical supplies and began to rummage for what he could.

Tiny and small sobs echoed around Sirena as she hid in the back recesses of the lower deck. The moving shadows of Tanithil carrying Amisra danced alone on the back walls as she peeked around a barrel she hid behind. Her eyes landed on the injured woman and a worried Tanithil but what captured her attention was the sobbing child who was beating and pounding on the woman's chest “Wake up Mimi…wake up…wake up!! The child cried as she fell onto the woman's chest sobbing.

Falling back into the shadows Sirena attempted to ignore the cries but as Tanithil left she couldn’t help but feel sorry for it. Suddenly the child stood up with a quick speed “ Help her!” the small child shouted at Sirena “ Help her! It’s your duty! You must help Mimi!” Her pleading and wailing broke Sirena’s heart. She had seen so many spirits in her life but this one was strong. The bond between the child and the woman was rare. Normally Sirena would ignore the call of them, drawing out their screams and sobs but this one was different.

Peeking around the barrel again she quickly scurried over to the woman's body as it lay unmoving. The vision of the child had dissipated as an overwhelming feeling of grief hit Sirena straight in her chest. She felt the breath leave her lungs as she struggled for air. Trying to work past it she quickly pulled some items from her bag that was slung around her hip, pulling out a couple vials and satchels. The first was a vile of a potent snake venom, known to numb the nerve system for extended periods of time allowing the body to rest pain-free. She opened the vile and placed the liquid to her lips making sure she ingested its contents. Once Sirena was certain the venom had enough time to kick in she began to do her work.

She quickly ripped open what she could on the woman's chest revealing her chest. Thankfully the woman had undergarments on which likely helped with any severe injuries to her torso thanks to the boning. Looking around she could see bruising along her ribs, a sure sign of a fractured bone. Pulling out large strips of cotton Sirena wrapped the woman's chest tightly in the bandages to help support the ribcage to allow it to heal faster. Moving quickly she then applied a herbal paste to the wound on her head, wrapping her head with some thick bandages as well.

Sirena checked over her body more, searching her arms, the back of her head, her stomach then down to her legs where she saw large amounts of bruising but no cuts. Thankfully the woman was in rough shape but with some rest and the tonics she provided for pain relief she would be just fine. Pulling out one last vile she held another liquid to her lips as it flowed into her mouth. It was blood that had been collected from a beast that had self-healing properties. Although other species would not self-heal, it was found to help quicken the procedure even just slightly, enough that the bruising would slow. Once done Sirena tossed a blanket over the woman to cover the exposed parts of her body. “ It’s okay small one…” Sirena whispered to the small child that lingered around the women. She felt the relief in her chest as the child settled beside the woman, her head resting on her chest as if to fall asleep.

Hearing footsteps Sirena scurried back into the corner she had found residence in, hiding behind some large dusty barrels. She peeked around ever so slightly to get a glimpse of who was approaching.

Amisra lay still on the cot, her consciousness drifting in a sea of darkness and fractured memories. Her body ached, every bruise and fracture sending waves of pain through her. It was as if her entire being was suspended in a void, a place where time had no meaning.

In this half-conscious state, Amisra found herself in a dream. She stood in a lush, vibrant forest, the air filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the gentle rustling of leaves. The sun filtered through the canopy above, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow on the forest floor.

As she walked through this serene woodland, a soft voice called her name, a voice she hadn't heard in years. "Mimi," it whispered, like the wind through the leaves.

Turning towards the sound, she saw a figure approaching, a small child with hair as white as Amisra’s and bright, curious eyes. It was Lyrei, the baby sister she had lost so many years ago. Amisra's heart swelled with emotion as she ran towards her, tears of joy in her eyes.

The two sisters embraced, Amisra holding her in her arms and spinning them around, the warmth of their love washing over them like a gentle breeze. She could hardly believe that she was holding her sister again, that she could feel her presence, hear her laughter. They talked and laughed, sharing stories and secrets, as if they had never been apart.

But as the dream went on, shadows began to creep in at the edges of the forest. Amisra's sister turned to her, her eyes filled with sadness. "Mimi, you have to go," she said softly.

Tears welled in Amisra's eyes as she clutched her sister's hand. "I can't leave you again," she pleaded.

Her sister smiled sadly. "You have to, Mimi. You have a purpose, a destiny. You can't stay here with me. I’ll always be with you, even if you can’t see me."

Amisra's heart ached as she watched her sister slowly fade away, her form dissipating like mist in the morning sun. She reached out, trying to hold on to her, but her sister's touch slipped through her fingers.

And then, Amisra woke with a start, her eyes fluttering open. She was back in the dimly lit lower deck of the Saltrunner, her body aching and bruised, yet not aching as much as she anticipated she would. The memory of the dream lingered in her mind, a bittersweet reminder of the love and loss she had experienced in her life. In that moment, she could have sworn she saw a figure darting back into the shadows behind some barrels. Her mind was foggy, however, and she wasn’t sure what she was actually seeing. ”Tan, is that you?” She called out, her voice hoarse.

The sound of Amisra’s voice had called Tanithil’s attention as he rummaged through the ship’s medical closet for supplies. He wasn’t much of a nurse, but he found some bandages, gauze, some natural balms for pain, and a few other things to help ease Amisra out of her injuries. He turned on his heel and walked briskly into the room. ”Yeah it’s me, Amisra. I just gotta help…dress your wounds?” He paused and noticed that Amisra’s shirt had been ripped, exposing the undershirt she had beneath. It was for that split second that Tanithil felt a rage bubble in his gut. Shadows began to pull from around the lower deck of the ship as sharply-edged appendages crawled out of Tanithil’s back, gripping the wood of the ship with an eerie creaaaaaaak. The four “arms” instinctively surrounded them both, as if to shield them from some unseen third party. He whipped his head around. ”You must be ballsy or completely mental if you think messin’ with a woman while she’s out cold is the right move. So help me-” His words paused as he noticed just what state his friend was in.

Sirena felt her body push against the wood of the ship as the forces that built up around her caused a tremor in her belly. Her eyes darted around the cob-webbed corner as she felt her breath hitch in her throat from fear. The sounds of screeching and yelling echoed in her mind as she covered her ears tightly, her eyes squinting closed as she pushed tighter into the corner of the ship.

She was slightly undressed, yet had plenty of cotton strips to hold her ribcage together, which had shown signs of damage. Not to mention the gash on her head had a salve applied to it. The grotesque conjured limbs slowly receded back into Tanithil, his mind and heart now set a little more at ease knowing whoever it was that touched his friend, it was seemingly in good faith. He knelt down and quickly covered her up, his gaze shifting to meet hers while he spoke. ”You took a proper hit there, Amisra. You’re alright though, you’re back on the Saltrunna. I need to know where it hurts the most right now and if you need anythin’.”

As his limbs receded Sirena's body relaxed as her breathing steadied. With a timid crawl, she used her hands to pull herself slightly forward from behind the barrels. Her large round eyes observed the grateful man as he looked upon his friend. However, the small child looked at Sirena with tears in her eyes. They light up large as her tiny hands tucked into her chest and a smile grew on her face. The child leaned down, planting a gentle soft kiss on the woman's forehead as her body faded off into the shadows. “ she sleeps…” “She is sleeping now.” “ Not gone.” “Small child” the whispers echoed in her mind.

Amisra blinked in confusion as her gaze shifted from where she expected to see Tanithil to where he actually was. She then glanced back to where she could have sworn she'd seen a figure, eyes scanning the dim light for any sign of a person. Then that dim light became dimmer as his shadow arms surrounded them and she glanced around alarmed. He said he needed to dress her wounds, but as she looked down at herself it seemed that had already been done. So either Tanithil hit his head too and forgot he'd dressed them or there was a helpful stowaway on board.

“Tan, that's enough. I'm fine." She said, her voice raspy as she tried to get her friend to calm down and see sense.

Finally it seemed he came to his senses and she breathed a small sight of relief. “Thank you, Tanithil,” Amisra whispered, her voice weak but filled with gratitude. She winced as she shifted, pain lancing through her body. “I ache all over, but I think my ribs are the worst.” Her eyes shifted to the corner where she was sure she'd seen someone. “And thank you, too... whoever you are.” She managed a faint smile, appreciating the kindness she had been shown.

Time: Afternoon
Location: Cargo Hold/Crew Quarters of the Saltrunner
Mentions: Amisra @Tae and Sirena @tpartywithzombi

Tanithil looked in slight confusion at the mention of "whoever you are" came from Amisra. At the same time, he felt a flow of relief hit his body at the first signs of her being okay. He lays his right hand on her ribs where it looked like bandages were packed the best. He may have been hasty to judge this unseen helper, but they definitely seemed to know their stuff. He did not push against her body too hard for fear of making the injury worse. He clicked his tongue in frustration at the thought of her being hurt while he was right there.

"Sorry you got all bent up like this. I should've given you some more magic.| He slid his hands off her ribs and sighed. "At least you're okay for now." He got up to walk towards the cot that happened to be nearby, pilfering through some random crewmates stuff until he found a cantine. He opened it up, eyed the contents, and took a small swig to make sure someone hadn't traded their daily water for something a little more...fun.

Sure enough, some plain old H2O hit his lips and he brought the mostly full cantine back to Amisra, offering it to her. "Don't fess too much about it being someone else's. I already took most of the icky germs you hate so much." He chuckled aloud. Water, food, and rest were the top 3 things this woman needed right now. Well, that and safety. His eyes turned towards the side of the ship he couldn't help but feel like he was being watched from.

"Stowaways are hardly looked on favorably, whoever you may be. But you helped my friend so I'm in a pretty good mood. Care to come out and talk a little bit about your predicament?" His voice was passive, showing no aggressive or commanding nature in the way he spoke to the possible unseen person.

A surge of sheer panic coursed through her, manifesting as a frenzied, desperate struggle. Her body contorted and writhed with unrestrained aggression, a symphony of motion aimed at breaking free from the constricting web of fiber that ensnared her, imprisoning every inch of her body and her tail. Each furious thrash drained her already depleted strength, like a dwindling candle in a dark room.

In the chaos of the moment, her mind became a battleground, a ball of anxiety and fear as she battled the haunting ghosts of her past. The words echoed in her thoughts like a whispered promise, "Don't give up… you won't be a slave again."

Just as she teetered on the brink of surrender to the relentless grip of the net, a sudden, forceful tug sent shockwaves of fear through her, wide eyes straining to fathom what lay beyond her tangled prison. Desperation clawed at her as she sought to propel herself free, but the tenacious webbing only seemed to tighten, each tug dragging her further into the web's suffocating embrace. Her body was yanked and pulled until it finally collided with the shoreline, her head breaking the water's surface.

Drawing in a deep, gasping breath of precious air, she surveyed her surroundings, seeking to make sense of the situation. As Cyrene's entire form emerged from the water, she summoned her final vestiges of strength for one last, futile wriggle against the unyielding snare. Her resplendent tail lay entangled in the mesh of the fishing net, while her arms were pinned against her chest within the constricting cocoon of fishing line.

Amidst the disorienting situation of her capture, the man's voice cut through the chaos, labeling her as the "fish lady." Struggling to catch a glimpse of her captor and his loyal companion, she strained to hear his words, knowing the tales that often accompanied her kind.
Fear seized her heart. If he pieced together her true nature, her runes would be exposed, and this net would be the least of her worries.

Summoning courage, she spoke, her voice gentle and friendly, a tentative attempt to unravel the identity and intentions of this man who now held her fate in his hands. "You do not wish to dine on me, sir, I assure you," she began. "Please, release me from this, and I shall swiftly depart. I'm even prepared to compensate you for the inconvenience of your damaged net." A hopeful smile graced her lips. "I can provide you with coin for your troubles if that would help persuade you." She clenched her jaw in anticipation.

Rue laughed at Bowyn’s jest. She patted his arm apologetically because she knew her comment had slipped out. However, he wasn’t offended, so she remained quiet. Flying sure beat running and she hated having to try to do so. Without her Pegasus at her side, Rue couldn’t help but feel lost. She shifted on her leg and sighed. If losing a leg was all she lost from the arena, then Rue considered herself lucky.
Afterwards, she rested her head against his shoulder and glanced around. The shop wasn’t too busy; there were customers everywhere. A glance toward Bardulf reassured her that he was well; so far, at least.

Rue sighed as she waited for her order. A loud, cheerful laugh echoed throughout the shop and caused her to look over. Sitting near the group were three dark elves, two male and a female. The girl had a buzzcut and hair to one side with pink tips, tee-shirt under a leather jacket, pants and boots and likely had an array of weapons hidden; the dark elves sitting across from her had similar looks with black hair, gleaming amber eyes, except one had longer hair and the other had short hair. Their outfits were bulky and similar to a soldier’s uniform. Rue couldn’t help but stare at the group for a moment as memories flashed through her mind. Their laughter echoed and for a moment, the cafe melted around her and into the barracks at the arena.

”Heidi in your shadow! You can’t see meee!”
”Yeah H, you’re invisible. Congratulations. They’ll neve spot you in the arena.”
”Ya’ll are going to get us fucking killed.”
”I will not! Don’t be so mean, J!”

”I don’t think this top goes with these pants, R, do you?”
”...I guess I never thought about that… Um, it looks nice on you.”
”She’s too fucking nice to be here. Yeah H, we’re worried about looking fashionable as we face our deaths. Better we die in fashion huh?”
”You’d be better off wearing all black and blending into the shadows. Invisible Heidi. That’ll throw off Shadow for sure and won’t piss her off at all. Maybe we can start a fashion line for gladiating, if we don’t fucking die in here first.”
”Always the tone of encouragement, J. Never stop being an optimist.”
Rue broke into laughter and nearly dropped the bucket she held. This caused the trio to look at her with shock; then the room erupted into laughter and the four of them didn't stop.

Rue didn’t notice at first, but water obscured her vision. She looked down and turned away from the others. The aching in her chest became tight and for a moment, she thought her heart was going to stop. Pain coursed through her veins. Rue looked around for Starfire but of course she wasn’t there. In the background, the trio had gotten up to leave, jovial and unaware of her having been staring at them. Rue’s breath caught as the group moved by, and she stole another glance. Their resemblance…. She bit her tongue and took several deep breaths. They had died. They weren't coming back. Nothing would ever change that fact.

Rue outwardly looked calm, but inside a storm raged. She had to be strong. She couldn’t let Bowyn or Bardulf down. Outside, Starfire waited for her patiently, although she was likely grazing her heart out. The idea caused laughter to bubble inside of her, but she didn’t let it out. Rue stared at the floor, blissfully unaware of her surroundings, and remained lost in thought. The memories continued flooding her mind. As the pain subsided, Rue clenched her fists. She would not let anyone else die on her. Not now, not ever again. Rue would not allow that to happen. Determination filled her and she finally glanced at Bowyn and let out a soft smile.

Equipment: Repeating crossbow, a bag, sword, two daggers, 3 small red potions, 1 large red potion, 1 large blue potion, hoverboard, portable solar box, eye protectors, fire starter kit, channeling gloves that turn her light magic orange, makeup, perfume, a skull she wears as a mask and a disguise ring

Mari stepped forward, her gaze locked on Thraash as Five's insane weapon aligned inches from his neck. "Okay take it easy, hold it right there.." She jumped on the table to make sure she was in his view. "Let's use logic here. So there's obviously a reason why Thraash and I would fetch you a pretty bag of amas..." She smiled and gestured to herself with her thumbs, "We're the best at what we do. If we weren't, you wouldn't be wasting your time trying to kill us. I guarantee you that if you hang with us, you can make more amas than you've seen in your dreams."

She then gestured to Aerilyn, "We were just about to speak with fluffy ass here about killing a manticore. You know, the kind of job that makes everyone else wet their pants in fear. But not us. We take on the beasts nobody else dares to face. Why? Because we're the best. And that manticore? It's just the beginning. Imagine the profits, the loot, and the reputation that comes with it. The three of us? Unstoppable."

With a theatrical sigh, she concluded, "Sure, everyone hates us because they ain't us, but they secretly wish they were. Join us, and you'll be rolling in amas faster than you can say 'Thraash has stinky breath.' We'll make you richer than your wildest dreams. It's not just a partnership; it's an investment in your future. So what do you say?"

Time: Morning’s are for rescuing Malachi!
Location: River Port; Liar of the Spiders
Interactions: Malachi@princess, Jun@JJ Doe, Kenia@Tae
Equipment: A halberd, (always with him) hunting knife, and half-plate armor (left in the room).

A flash of light burned his eyes. The scent of fresh blood wafted forward from the direction of the spider. Good, good, kill the spider. The two elves had this and they would make sure Jun and the child survived. That was what mattered. Malachi was shouting at him with disappointment; Zion had let the elven leader down. He tried to shout back but his apology came out as panicked snarls. More light flashed, it was too bright to see around him. Zion had to move, move or die; he had to get up and away from the spider. He tried, only to stumble back to the ground.

His arm didn’t work. It only hurt. Chew it off. Chew it off. Teeth gnashed at the air as the feral instincts fought to take over. Zion struggled to keep reminding himself not to bite at his arm, not to get the venom near his mouth.

The spider’s dying shrieks brought only a moment of satisfaction before Zion found himself jerked upwards. His useless arm dangled beneath him, the other arm flailed wildly, claws extended, as he tried to slash away at the webbing of the second spider. In his movements, he caught sight of the many-eyed monster tucked away in the forest’s canopy. Zion let loose a roar that transformed every bit of agony into fury. If the spider wished to make a meal of the lion, he would ensure the spider was biting off more than it could chew.
