Ethan and Nikki

Nikki listened to Ethan speaking about feeling uncomfortable in this place, as she repacked their bags and checked the room. "Okay, I'll put this stuff into the truck." Nikki said. "I'll start looking for the others to let them know we are heading out."

Nikki nodded gave him a quick kiss and grabbed the bags and walked across the center and out the door sword in hand. Nikki was slightly startled. "Whoa!" There were more walkers out here than earlier. She managed to get their bags into the truck and then she high tailed it back to the rec center.

Nikki saw Leanne and Chris and ran over to them. "Hey! Chris, Leanne we are heading out and going to the high school. Tell the others if you see them and there are more walkers outside so be safe!" Leanne stopped her. "Wait! The woman with the baby," "Yes? What about her." Leanne pulled a couple of small tubes out and gave them to her. Nikki looked at them and grinned. "You are going to be her hero! Thanks!" She ran to the main room and got Tex and the others that she could.

Nikki rounded the corner and saw Ethan approaching Kat and Jason. She looked down at the Orajel and as Ethan picked up his daughter. Nikki smiled at the momentary relief on Kat's face. "Kat, that woman who signed us all in, Leanne, she said to give you these." Nikki handed her the tubes of orajel and smiled. "It might make Grace a little less fussy."

Nikki said, "Okay we are pulling out in just a few minutes so get your stuff and let's go. There are a lot more walkers out there now. Jason I could use some help clearing a path for the others. Tex is waiting by the door already. Ethan will stay with Kat and Grace and help them get settled into the truck."

Leanne had taken Chris to her room so she could pack quickly. She was done in just a couple of minutes and they were heading to the doors as well. "I gave it to her. She said 'thanks'." Nikki told Leanne as she patted her on the back. Leanne smiled.

"Let's go guys, we gotta clear a path." Nikki kicked the bar on the door, knocking walkers down on the other side and ran outside. The other fighters were behind her and they all began to clear a path to the vehicles.

Camyllia looked at her confused," You don' remember me Clara?" She shakes her head sighing,"Camyllia. My name's Camyllia...look I need ta talk ta ya privately. I need to talk to someone 'bout this 'cause I don' think anyone else will listen but maybe ya can?" She asked trying to figure out the right thing to say.

That is one thing that she hates is that whenever she would talk about something she is not certain about her brain scrambles it. Right now she trying to just focus on getting all the good people out the building before they all die.She heard Blitz growling and turned watching her people running out into the parking lot. Camyllia looks at the woman before grabbing her hand and putting her old machete into it.

"Come with me. Ethan is a good man an' he can get us out o' here," She gets out her Tactical Machete," Or don'," She says before running after the rest of them," C'mon Blitz!"

She ran out catching sight of Ethan getting into a truck and followed after them hopping into the tailgate Blitz following. She was greeted by a huge Husky growling at them. Camyllia raised her hand sticking it out and letting the dog sniff it before it relaxed and let her pet it.

Speak of the Devil and he shall appear. No sooner had she finished speaking did Daddy of the Year himself walk up and actually hold his child. Showing interest in her now are we, was on the tip of Kat's tongue but 'Buffy' appeared moments later. She handed Kat gold. Well, it might as well have been gold.

Orajel! "Thank whatever god that's still listening," Kat said gratefully. It wasn't Baby Orajel but it was close enough.
Before anyone could really react 'Buffy' was off barking orders at everyone. Apparently she was now First Lady of their company. Kat raised an eyebrow. Oh this was going to get old VERY fast...
Kat felt more comfortable around Jason than Ethan at the moment so she really didn't like Nikki ordering him around. She doubted a military man like Jason would like it either. She gave a pointed look at Ethan that said 'control your trophy wife' but Ethan was doing his best to ignore her, probably because he knew what look he would be facing if he made eye contact with her.
Kat took Grace from him, not forcefully but in a gentle way. She had meant what she said. Even though he was showing less then no interest in her Kat was not going to keep his child from him for the few moments he seemed to remember he had one.

Putting some of the gel on her finger, she rubbed the inside of the suffering baby's mouth. Tears ran like water works down her little cheeks as she whimpered.
"That feels better doesn't it sweet love?" Kat soothed her. Grace, tired from the pain and crying, laid her head on her mommy's shoulder and closed her eyes. She likely wasn't going to sleep with all of the noise around her, but she was at least resting.

"By the way, just so you are aware, one of the little rats that lives here was threatening Grace and me because she was crying, saying he was going to get us kicked out," Kat informed Ethan, "in case you wanted to know what was going on with your daughter. Jason has been watching out for us."
Okay so that had been a slam, but it was meant to be one. Jason, a man who was not related to them in the slightest, was showing more interest and concern for Grace than her own father. Kat wanted Ethan to start manning up. At the moment his girlfriend was wearing the pants more than he was.

ETHAN

Ethan looked at Kat, he was not shocked that people would consider babies dangerous in these times. His paternal instincts would never allow anyone to hurt his baby though. "There are a few reasons we are not staying and that is one of them. I was checking everything out and they have no plans for defense or food that I saw and some of the people here are extremely dangerous. Don't worry, I wasn't ignoring you, I was assessing the situation to see if it was safe for all of us."

Ethan picked up hers and Grace's things and he checked to see if Nikki, Tex and the others had cleared a good path to the truck for them. "Ready? Let's go!" Ethan opened the door and he only had to kill three walkers between the door and the truck. Nikki was right there were a lot more of them out here now.

FELIX STANDFIELD

Location: School Building

Humming a light tune, Felix walked at a brisk pace. He pretty hungry this morning, and fancied a bite of fish for breakfast. Unfortunately, the camp had none. It wasn't really a surprise -- food was rationed, and so they only took what foods could be preserved for long periods of time, not to mention, Felix was completely sure that everyone had their own personal stash of food hidden away somewhere, so sure that he went to look for them in his free time, and managed to find all of them. He didn't take a thing though. He was just bored.

Back to the present, he was hungry for fish, so he went fishing. It was funny how undisturbed nature was in general by the sudden death of the twenty-first century human civilization, he idly thought, as he hefted the basket of fish over his shoulders. Then he jumped over the grabbing hands of a Lurker trying to have its own form of a nutritious breakfast.

Walking backwards, Felix looked at the small crowd of Walkers he had attracted. They had followed him on his way back from fishing, and while he could always just outrun them, he figured that a light morning exercise couldn't hurt. So he attracted whatever Walkers he could find and led them on a nice merry chase away from the school, towards a nearby parking lot.

There were two ways to fight a crowd of Walkers: out in the open, or in tight spaces. In places with clear space and with nothing blocking your sight, dealing with them was simple. Despite the fear they instilled, despite the death they have dealt, fighting the living dead was nothing compared to fighting humans.

And fighting humans was nothing compared to fighting Felix.

It was a much lighter exercise than he expected.

"I'm back~!"

The guard looked at him from behind the fortified gates of the school, and scowled as soon as he saw him. Felix grinned back.

"Felix. You're back. I hadn't even noticed you left," he deadpanned. In response, Felix lifted the basket of fish he was holding to eye level.

"Ah, well, I had a sudden craving for fish, and since the camp didn't have any, I decided to get some," he said, as though it were the simplest thing in the world. The guard stared at him.

"That still doesn't answer my question: How did you get out?"

"I climbed the walls."

"You climbed . . . the walls?"

Felix gestured to sheer walls around the school, over five meters tall and additionally fortified with barbwire.

"Yeah, the walls."

Sighing, the guard shook his head opened the gates. He was followed by two more people, both armed. They approached him, the one guard irritated, the other two cautious. Felix spread his arms wide and turned around. "As you can see, I am completely fine!" he said, rolling up his sleeves and showing his bare arms.

"Well, can I go in now?"

Waving his hand, the guard nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Go on ahead."

With a cheeky grin, Felix strolled past them and into the building. The quadrangle had been turned into a miniature market place, with the stalls made out of tents and ramshackle huts made of scavenged wood and steel; of course, he called it a market, but it was more of a relief goods place -- supplies found by scavengers were sent to the stalls in charge of sorting them out, and then they distributed them evenly among the community, though Felix suspected there was some favoritism going on. The classrooms had been turned into apartments, of sorts, and distributed among the people here. Families typically gained one room to themselves, while singles had to share a room.

All-in-all, it was pretty okay, as far as post-Apocalypse communities go. Certainly better than the one back in Virginia.

Still, life here was getting pretty monotone. If nothing interesting happened any time soon, he was considering leaving for Las Vegas, before heading down to Mexico.

Whatever, he had fish to fry. He was starving . . .

After Chris and Leanne got back in the rec center all hell broke loose as everyone started packing their stuff to leave. Nikki started barking orders at everyone and the person that was really supposed to do that was only physically present. As he watched Leanne talk to Nikki about Kat and the baby Chris was thinking to himself as he looked at Ethan. Some leader you are! I guess she's wearing the pants in the family isn't she? Chris snapped out of it after Leanne grabbed him and took him to her room. He didn't say anything to Nikki as it wasn't the right time, with everyone being busy packing up.

After helping her with her stuff they both got out of the room and Chris suddenly remembered Lisa and told Leanne. "Go at the exit and wait for me there. I gotta go find my sister before we leave!" Said Chris as he went off, heading to the main room.

What used to be a calm place now turned into an all out chaos. But he didn't care about any of that. All he wanted was to find his sister and get out of here. As he was heading to the main room he started hearing his sister's familiar cries calling his name. After reaching the main room in the midst of all the the people running in various directions he could see his sister standing somewhere in the middle, shouting for him. Then all of a sudden some guy bumps into her, knocking her down. Chris starts running to her, pushing everyone out of his way.

"Hey, are you alright?" Said Chris grabbing his sister by the hands and lifting her up. "Come on, we gotta leave. That horde is close to the city." He said as he took his backpack from his sister's hands and put it on his back as she remained with the duffle bag only.

After that Chris and Lisa both ran to the exit, where they reunited with Leanne who was waiting there for them. It didn't take long for Nikki to appear as well, telling Leanne something, patting her on her back and then knocking the door open. Chris pulled out his revolver and turned around to Leanne.

"I'm gonna help the others clear a path to the vehicles. You see that black Impala over there? That's my car. Take my sister, go to it and and wait for me inside." Said Chris as he turned around, cocked his revolver and shot a walker in the head.

There were too many walkers outside so silence didn't matter anymore. He then put the revoler in the holster as he pulled out his KA-BAR knife, grabbed a walker that was heading to him by it's neck and stabbed it in the left side of the head with it. He then gave a right side kick to a walker that was trying to grab him from behind, pulled out his revolver again and shot it in the head. He was now very close to Nikki who was fighting off walkers as well. He shot one of the walkers that was right in front of her. Nikki turned around shocked because the bullet came millimeters close to her head.

"After we reach the high school you and I need to talk. You can't avoid me forever." Said Chris with an upset tone as he turned around and headed to his car, putting his KA-BAR back in it's sheath and the revolver back in the holster.

Jason, who was suddenly thrown for a loop, finding out that there was a person with schizophrenia right there, and an aggressive one at that. Great just what they needed. Then Nikki showed up and suddenly the plan was to move from the building. Wow he must of been out of it for a while because everyone was already packed and ready to go, and now they have twenty more people or so coming. Great...he didn't even trust this Vincent in the first place...let alone all of his group.

When Nikki said she and Jason would be clearing the path to the cars... a blood vessel almost popped in his forehead. No way was he going to allow Ethan to just drop leadership over to a nineteen year old girl....just so he can get in her pants. Was what he frankly thought.

Nikki left and Jason looked to Kat and said, "Just stick right behind me as we move to the truck." He didn't care what Nikki said, or that Ethan could have protected her still. He felt the sudden urge to protect kat and grace above all else...perhaps it was because Grace a was a symbol of hope in this dark world...that Life can go on after this.

He waited for her, but then went outside, with his gun raised. Nikki was battling next to chris. What the hell did he get himself into. This group was like a bad spanish soap Oprah that his mother used to watch.

Immediately, he raised his FN SCAR and aimed at the remaining walkers near by, picking them off with single shots to the head, while slowly moving and rotating around Kat to keep himself between her and the nearesst walker. once to the truck he opened the door and picked off two more walkers, leaving the entire area where the cars were cleared of the walkers.

"Alright! Lets move, faster we get to the school and set up defenses the better. Everyone into the cars!

Erin Hyde McGarth

Erin listened to Camyllia, frowning at the dark half's name, before watching the girl run after someone. Her sixth sense tingled as it normally did when danger was near, meaning something had gone wrong. The light half began to follow only to stop when hearing screaming down the hallway. There was one rule in this world and that was don't go anywhere alone. Another scream forced the girl to groan as she ran after the sound. What seemed like a flood of men, woman, and children bumped into the teenager desperately trying to run away from something. It wasn't until Erin was mostly at the end of the crowd that she had found out why they were in a huff to get away. Two walkers were munching and tearing into an unfortunate victim, a small child of all things, making the teenager stop in place. This wasn't what she wanted to see yet whatever god ran this world decided to play a very cruel joke.

The teenager shook her head in time to hear another scream close by. There was shifting from the body along with a groan. Her eye darted around trying to figure out what to do in case they decide they were done eating. There was four doors excluding the one the teenager arrived in. Three was towards the walkers, one on the left, one on the right, and other just ahead behind them. To her luck there was a door to the right with what looked like a cabinet blocking the doorway with just enough room for a small person. The walker finally stood as it slowly shifted towards the only living human near by. Bad luck for the lighter half if it had not been for a cat jumping on top of a cabinet. This have the girl time to run towards the door behind her only to have someone grab her arm." Shhh. Come with me before those bad men get us." The young child said while dragging Erin towards another door.

After they got away the boy smiled at the newly rescued girl." Sorry about the scare miss. I was trying to find someone to help my older brother until I saw those dead people. Glad Fran's cat decided to say hello." He said with a weak smile. Before the teen could spoke something hit her head. She groaned in pain before getting hit again in the side." Henry I bought this person to help. Why are you beating her?" The child asked." Because we can use her as bait while we escape. Get ready to run Matt." The assailant said beating on the girl more. The girl weakly called out for help just before blacking out.

Vincent James McGarth

Vincent was about to suggest something before some mentioned something about needing to move out now. This statement caused the two young men to dash out at the same time, nearly tripping over each other, while the devil's twin nipping at his heels." Alex we gotta go now! Vincent which way did Erin go?" the Japanese teenager asked in a panicked voice." I don't know. I was giving her space. Raven I want the men to help get survivors out. Conserve ammo as much as possible. Spears are inside the car so carefully make your way there. Tell Yoko not to go wild with the lead." the leader said in a 'that's an order' voice." I have to find Erin." the young man said before Raven grasped his arm." Vincent is a better choice. I need your help leading these people outs and securing a path. He'll find her Haru I promise." she said in a calm voice." Fine then. If I find out she's hurt then I'm holding you two personally responsible." with that in the air he followed the girl. The older brother didn't say anything but he just ran towards the other hallway.

Was this the third right or the third left? The man didn't quite know. So many were either running or getting bitten and torn apart by a group of walkers around them. Unfortunately there seemed to be more a little more living than undead, at least for now. Vincent raised his pistol shooting a walker right in the head. He ran forward ignoring the pleads of help around him. The focus was to get everyone out yet the older brother's main focus was is youngest sister. The only family he had left was to two siblings and he would protect them at all costs. Even at the expense of these survivors' lives. A unknown voice screamed duck forcing the man to hit the floor. Bang. Bang. Bang. Thump." Man can't hit the side of a barn today. You okay man." A person said while holding out a hand." I'm searching for someone. Her name is Erin Hyde McGarth. She's very unique individual and I would like to find her right away." he said as he grabbed the newly arrived woman's hand." Matt had a teenager with him. That must be who you're looking for. But we will have to hurry because Henry is usually with him."

The man looked at the woman before nodding then ran with her towards the last known location. After killing some more walkers they had arrived. The woman insisted in walking in first due to there being a child inside. The older brother found it pointless if they didn't hurry than Erin would get hurt that was if she wasn't already. If his sister was hurt there would be hell to pay. Slowly they worked their way inside, every sound caused them to hold their breaths and stop, until they arrived at what caused all emotions in Vincent to cease. Erin was on the floor with someone standing over her throwing punch after punch. This just pissed the guy off making his true colors to show. Like someone switching off a switch in order to in his mind protect his kin. Vincent pointed his gun at the man shooting his legs with a spine chill smirk. The woman quickly took the kid out telling him to hurry up. The older brother put his gun away and picked up his sister.

"You can't leave me here." The voice pleaded." Why? It looked like you were going to kill my sister. Most likely beat her then leave her for dead." the guy said while walking outside. Once they were clear Raven ran towards them clearing a way towards Alex's car." Come on! Haru said we have to lead them in so hurry up." the girl said taking her sibling's place on top. Haru looked at Alex, rage clearly displayed in his eyes as the two got inside. The young man started the car and lead the way to their home leading the others to it.

Nikki Hyatt

Nikki was absorbed in clearing a path and killing walkers and she saw Chris, Tex and Jason and a few others she recognized but couldn't think of their names offhand. They hadn't run into this many walkers all at once since the horde in the city. She let her guard down for a split second to make sure Kat and the baby were safe. Chris shot one of the walkers that was right in front of her. Nikki turned around shocked because the bullet came millimeters close to her head.

Nikki was pissed off at Chris. He nearly killed her and had the audacity to demand they speak later. Oh we'll speak later for sure! she thought to herself as she put a little more anger into her next swing.

Nikki looked at the Impala and saw both Leanne and Lisa were in there. She looked up at the truck and Ethan was at the wheel with Kat and the baby in the cab too. She turned back to the walkers as more people were fitted into the back of the truck.

"Nikki come on!" Tex yelled and reached out for her hand as Ethan started moving the truck out. She didn't come though. Soon Tex yelled again but she was trying to get some distance between the truck and the walkers. "Go!" Nikki yelled "I'll catch up." She could easily outrun the walkers. She caught Ethan's face in the truck mirror and he gave her a questioning look. She smiled and yelled "Go Ethan!" He hit the gas and headed for the school looking for her behind them. He knew she knew where they were going and that she was doing her job, but he didn't like leaving her there alone one single bit. At this point he wished he had made Tex drive.

Nikki had studied the map and she knew they were only a couple of miles from the school. She just wanted to give them enough time to get the gates open and get inside. Nikki could climb the fence and the walkers couldn't.

Nikki went into a restaurant just up the street and up to the second floor to the apartment above it. She took out the two walkers on that floor and went out the fire escape. In the mean time there were enough walkers in the restaurant and the 2nd floor that they were spilling out of the window.

Nikki wound her way around the buildings and up onto the roof of one of them. She could see the truck and the Impala and another car getting further away from her and closer to the school. She looked around and spotted a dirt bike about a block ahead. She hopped down and slashed the closest walker. After that she ran to the dirt bike and climbed on and fired it up and headed towards the school.

Leanne

After Ethan spoke with the people at the gate the vehicles were allowed in. Ethan got out of the truck once inside the gates and he told Tex to take the truck further in after having a heated discussion with him. Leanne watched curiously as Ethan walked back towards the gate and spoke to the people manning the gate.

A few minutes later the sound of a dirt bike could be heard and the gate opened for Nikki. As soon as she stopped the bike Ethan was there giving her grief about staying behind on her own. Leanne noticed that Nikki didn't have a mark on her, she had skills in a way that Leanne could only dream of. She couldn't hear what they said but she could tell Ethan didn't like what she said too much. Nikki hugged him and he calmed down a little.

She looked at the other occupants of the Impala. She and Chris were in the front and Lisa and Rey were in the back seat. Lisa and Rey were looking out the windows just like she was. "Do you think we'll be safe here?" Leanne asked Chris. She didn't want to get her hopes up but it certainly looked safer than the rec center had been. The Impala followed the truck to the back of the building.

Nikki

Nikki pulled into the gate and parked the bike. Before she could get off of the bike Ethan was there and he wasn't happy with her choice to stay back. Nikki smiled and hugged him. "Ethan, just because we know how we feel about each other won't change me. I'm still the same person I was before and I'll still take the same risks. I felt safe enough and nothing went wrong so look at it as a win." Ethan grumbled a little and Nikki smiled happily. They walked around to the back of the building where the other vehicles had gone.

FELIX STANDFIELD

Location: School Building

Felix looked up from the second floor. He had just left his room, attracted by the sound of a sudden commotion coming from outside. That was a lot of people, some of whom he vaguely recognized as fellow survivors, though they had left The School for the Rec Center before he had a chance to be acquainted with any of them. Now that they were back, it seemed that the whole camp was lively again.

Oh, and they brought back cars. Working, functional, cars. This automatically meant that he was friends with them until further notice.

The cars aside, there also people he didn't recognize. So they were new guys, probably strays they had picked up from their time away. Felix narrowed his eyes at them. On closer inspection, the entire group looked harried and distraught. That meant one of two things; they were either attacked on their way back, or the Rec Center had fallen. He was willing to bet it was the latter, from the way they acted. Being hit while travelling tended to produce a different variant of "haunted-look" than an entire colony falling. More specifically, whenever survivor colonies fell, the remaining population always echoed the looks of those that had survived the beginning of this Apocalypse - desperate, gaunt, jittery, and lost. That was always there, that lost look.

Retrospection asides, Felix climbed down the second floor and headed around back to meet with the new arrivals. They would probably be neighbor's now, so why not take the initiative and introduce himself, right?

"Well, these are a bunch of new faces~" he said easily, pacing towards them with light steps, "I'm Felix Standfield, and welcome, or welcome back, to the School, because we haven't come up with a better name yet."

With a sharp grin he extended his hand to the person nearest to him, which happened to be the chick with the sword. He liked girls, and he liked swords, so he considered this a bonus. It would be an even bigger one if she knew how to handle it, something he fully intended to test some time.

"Nice to meet ya. Hope you enjoy your time here."

Nikki Hyatt

"Why thank you. It's nice to meet you too Felix. I'm Nikki Hyatt" Nikki said as a young man thrust his hand at her to shake. She shook his hand and introduced Ethan. "This is Ethan Blackledge. He is the leader of our group. He handles all of the craziness, the food and gives the orders and a few of the others and I handle the walkers, for the most part." Nikki watched as Ethan nodded to Felix and was off in a hurry to find out who was in charge.

"Now Felix, I need to know all about the defense of this place. Who else knows how to fight and what weapons people have here so we aren't caught unaware like they were at the rec center. What weapons are you proficient at?" Nikki looked up and caught Chris looking at her and she ignored him. "Come on Felix show me what this place has. That horde is coming this way. We need to make sure that this place will hold up."
