A Magical Girl Adventure

GM:@KoL Co-GM:@TheWendil

A long time ago, in a world other than our own, there lived a Princess who could breathe life in any stories she ever told. From her lips, world were created, filled with magic, adventure, dragons, and heroes. From the zenith of her crystal spire, she guided her kingdom with grace. Peace and justice lasted for millennia.

All of that changed one day when a Dark Witch tried to usurp the Princess' power. She created a way to seal the Princess' stories in books, binding them to her will. With the power of those books that came to be known as Grimoires, the Witch was able to unleash her rebellion. After sealing the Princess away in her tower, the witch, now turned into a Dark Empress, set out to conquer the many worlds touched by the Princess' tales.

One of these worlds was none other than our very own Earth.

Unknown to the Dark Empress, her armies wouldn't have an easy time conquering this world. A great deal of the Princess' storytelling power blessed these lands, all that was needed to keep it safe were guardians of peace and justice with the power to wield the very same Grimoires that brought forth the Witch's victory many eons ago.

"And who would be better to guide those few chosen ones other than the Princess' most trusted attendant? No one, I tell you! And that's why I, the Magnificent Scheherazade will do that. Fear not, you may not be fit for the job, but I'll ensure you succeed one way or another."

With the enemies encroaching upon the otherwise peaceful Mizukino City, it's only a matter of time until the battle for the world's survival begins.

Character Sheet

Name: Self Explanatory.
Age: Try to keep this between 12 and 17, unless there's a really good explanation involved.
Appearance: No real life images, thank you. Either an image, text description, or both are allowed. Bonus points if you can provide an appearance for your character's magical girl form.
Description: A brief description of your character. This can include bits of personality, backstory, likes and dislikes, etc. Try to keep this as brief but also as flavorful as possible. Think of it like the character description you would read on the back of a DVD/Blu-ray's box for example.
Grimoire: Every magical girl begins her story with one unique grimoire, a mystical story book that somehow found its way into her possession.
Title: While the stories contained in the Grimoires aren't exact 1:1 copies of fairytales and other stories of our world, they are similar enough that you can use them as the basis for the naming and powers granted by the books.
Description: A brief description of the contents of the Grimoire, this is used to Explain its abilities, as well as to add a little more flavor to the choice.
Abilities: What kind of powers, weapons, gear, etc does the Grimoire grant to your character?
Misc: Trivia, theme songs, or anything else not covered above should go here.

Bonne Lecture!
...... *sees magical girl story* *blinks* Can I create a magical boy?

I'm not exactly opposed to the idea, but it would have to be like the one and only character like that to appear in the RP. We'll see when the main thread is up sometime later today.
@KoLHow many abilities do we start with?

However many you want as long as they make sense, since it depends on the character's theme and story pick.

But it's a good idea to not go too overboard even when you select a choice that would allow a character to have a ton of powers.
@sassy1085@slackpack@Vega7285@Ammokkx

Thank you all for the interest.

If everything goes alright, the main thread (and perhaps a discord server, if people want it) should be up sometime this weekend.

If there's anything you wanna ask or say, feel free to do so.

Xiaoyu

It probably was strange to see a Servant that had more awareness of the modern world than her Master. Nevertheless, such seemed to be the case between Xiaoyu and Saber. It wasn't rare for the young magus to catch herself thinking deeply about her partner's casual comments about life. Even now as she reflected on Saber's explanation that this was indeed a good place to have lunch. It looked lively too, so she decided to trust the other girl's words, nodding as she placed her order.

"This place is suspiciously full of people I know. I wonder if that's normal in such a big city," Xiaoyu said to herself in a thoughtful tone after being waved at by a boy she had some vague recollection of. Looking around, she caught sight of some others, which made her doubts grow.

"Come, Saber, let's find a table. I doubt our orders will get ready soon with this place so crowded as it's," Xiaoyu said to Saber before finding a place conveniently close to the boy. When she arrived there, she returned his greeting with a casual "Hello there" as she took a seat and waited for Saber to do the same.

Aerynne

Aerynne finished eating her bread silently. It seemed some of the others had a wrong idea that no kids were ever involved with Artifact Hunting. There was nothing farther away from the truth, Aerynne herself used to go on trips with her parents from around the same age as this Imarui girl.

Actually, that was a very exotic name for this region, but Aerynne didn't feel like prying into other's lives if she didn't need to. That said, one of the things mentioned by Imarui caught Aerynne's attention. She might as well try to know more about it later,"

Her concentration was broken a moment later when a couple of people decided to literally plunge into the abyss below. The bird girl couldn't hold the instinct to cringe. She waited for the unavoidable sound of bodies being squashed against the ground, but since it never came, Aerynne could only hope everything went well down there.

"Y—You really got me worried there for a moment. Now I'm kinda curious what kind of eccentricity leads someone to do, well... that," Aerynne said as she followed Erika into the elevator.

"Woah, these look like some pretty nice ruins. It's been a while since I've run into any like this. Maybe it'll finally be my lucky day," Aerynne said out loud to herself as she set eyes on the ruin, momentarily forgetting about everything else.

Caster

No matter how distracted Caster was, she would never fail to notice the approach of her Master. Nor would the confusion in his voice go unnoticed to her either.

She waited until he explained his situation before addressing him. "It's good to see you are feeling better, Master," she said as she turned her attention away from her origami familiar for a moment.

Even as she did so, the undead would continue their duty, fighting against Lancer with reckless abandon. While the skeletons would continue to prove to be no match for his power, the demonic samurai was a foe worthier of the Servant's attention. Losing a leg was an inconvenience, but in no way it would hinder the inhuman power behind its strikes, something Lancer would find out soon enough if he were to underestimate it.

"As you can see, your predictions weren't inaccurate. Even so, there's no need to worry," Caster said as she turned an old bronze mirror into a scrying tool, showing the battle between Lancer and her undead. "It seems like I've found an interesting enemy. For some reason, it feels like he isn't interested in destroying the youkai I summoned, despite them being clearly inferior to him when it comes to martial skill. I'm still trying to understand what's his motivation. I suppose we shall find it soon enough once he's done with the oni warrior," she added, beckoning her Master to take a seat across her.

Xiaoyu

Xiaoyu had one too many busy days ever since she arrived at this peculiar, supposedly modern, city. She had to find a proper home, get used to living with her Servant, and above it, all, go out under this scorching, blazing sun.

Talking about her Servant. Xiaoyu could never expect to be as lucky as she was when it came to that. She was sure that if this were a normal Holy Grail War, she would have won before even trying. "More importantly, she's really cute. I would never think someone like her would be a girl, though," she thought about the blonde Saber while they made their way to a local restaurant.

"Are you fine with this, Saber? I read something about a King in a magazine ad about this place, but it certainly doesn't look like a place used to feeding royalty," Xiaoyu asked her Servant as she flipped a magazine's pages. The ad she talked about wasn't even for this restaurant chain, but it didn't look like a recluse mage such as Xiaoyu would even be capable of understanding that just because a business had King in their name it didn't mean they were a restaurant for royalty.

"We are here already, we might as well try the food before leaving," Xiaoyu thought as she entered the establishment, still bearing a confused look in her eyes.

"I want one of your spiciest dish, please," the smallish girl said after finally getting the attention of one of the attendants. "You may ask for whatever is it you want, Saber. I suppose we can't go away without experiencing what kind of food this land has to offer."

Aerynne

The day began fine for Aerynne. It had been a while since she was able to sleep on even a mildly fluffy bed like the one from the family that took her in while she was staying in Hensia. Renting a room in a family house certainly beat a cheap inn any day of the week, especially when she could get some tasty freshly baked bread out of it.

How was it, again? Bread and Breakfast... Aerynne certainly could get used to that. Or so she thought as she made her way to HAHL's headquarters.

Thanks to having made her reservations a day before, it was no problem for Aerynne to just come and collect her temporary license. Openings of ruins like this one always attracted all kinds of crowds, from real hardcore pros to curious people just wanting to take a look. Case in point, the strange duo of a—seemingly—gritty old man dressed in what looked like surplus military gear and a small girl who looked like she could going out for a field trip.

Since she had nothing better to do, Aerynne decided to observe it from a short distance. And then, as she did so, a couple more joined the previous two.

"Party forming sure does look like a good idea. Maybe I should try doing it too?" Aerynne said to herself as she continued to observe the people around her while slowly plucking bite-sized bits of her bread and eating them.
