“The flower became our ally and aided our escape. Augusta’s capable of healing now; care to experiment on your limits with Nick?”
Isidore

"After you left, we went into the depths of the complex. We made a deal with a demon for it's survival and a guaranteed escape for us. Well, it's species' survival? Regardless, we escaped with it's seed and a new dog."
Augusta?

"What? You made a deal with the black tar-thing down below? Escaped with a seed and Octavia? What're you gonna do with the seed?" Nick was incredulous. These people did get in a lot of trouble in there. He was almost glad he ran away. Then again, he shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Maybe the black thing from the ruins wasn't bad, just lashing out or something. Still, Nick didn't trust it but he did trust the trio. "Well, I hope you three know what you're doing."

Isidore then left to hunt for food. A bit hasty, Nick thought, but if that's what he wants to do then by all means.

"Nick, I want you to trust me that you'll feel better. With all the black substance, we just need to be safe. It probably shouldn't hurt."
Augusta?

"Wait, what're you gonna do?" Augusta's words put Nick on edge. He reflexively recoiled while the Elven woman snapped a small flame into existence on her fingers. Nick still couldn't believe how that was possible. She then brought it over to his shoulder wound. "Wait, what're you--"

Nick was silenced as he felt the small flame spread its warmth over the injury. It burned, sort of? The wound felt nice and the dull pain faded away. The bleeding stopped completely now and while the damage wasn't fully healed, it was still a lot better than the crude dressing Nick gave it with a makeshift bandage. "Thanks, Augusta. You sure can do anything, can't you? Casting all sorts of magic and all."

"Hey, didn't you say you were gonna teach me magic? Now's a good a time as any, isn't it?"

They did it. They killed Damon Cal. They killed a vampire. It might not be that big of a deal to the other Iron Rose Knights but Jarde was just in a fight with a mighty vampire, and he survived! He was almost killed or turned earlier but ultimately, the Iron Roses were the victor against their vampiric foe. The undead might be more than a man but even he could not withstand the overwhelming onslaught thrown at him by three Iron Roses.

Damon's head rolled across the floor, decapitated by Sir Fleuri's downward slash which was then picked up by Lady Tyaethe. The senior paladin then said some words to the head, which then talked back. "He's still alive?!" Jarde gripped his sword in alarm. Was it not over? He looked at the body, expecting it to rise and continue the fight. What was it gonna take to kill this guy?

But no such thing happened, the bodiless Damon merely said his final words at Tyaethe before expiring. An amused smirk upon his face. The vampire said some cryptic words, and actually wished to fight the vampiric paladin. What was Tyaethe doing earlier? Jarde was pretty sure she went down with the Captain and the others. When did she get back?

However, now was not the time to ruminate. The battle was still ongoing and Jarde collected his sickles and reattached them to his chains. Once that was done, he joined the others to lower levels.

---

Now what happened here? There was a mage girl with silver hair that stood up, making her look hilarious to Jarde. There was a masked man holding a Nem hostage. Ah, that must be Tili's sister then. The other Iron Rose Knights were here too, fighting the enemies. Jarde's eyes immediately went towards his beloved Captain, who was fighting some sort of slime monster filled with bones and weapons and armor. He didn't care what that was, he quickly joined the fray on Fanilly's side.

Upong getting closer though, the blob's stench made itself apparent. Jarde winced from the sudden assault on his nose. His stomach lurched but he focused. Unfortunately, he had nothing in his arsenal that could harm this foul-smelling slime creature. Would attacking it physically work? Jarde doubted it but he knew one thing he could do.

While the creature focused on trying to catch the deft Iron Rose Captain, Jarde got behind it and caught its attention with a slash from his sickles. "I'll keep it distracted, Captain! Do whatever you need to do!" He told Fanilly. Jarde prepared himself to evade the attacks this blob thing would throw at him. Shouldn't be too hard, right?

"What is important is knowing that you're fine and nothing happened to you."
Freyr

Haley happily snuggled up to Freyr's embrace. "I doubt your girl was actually in any danger but I appreciate your concern." The public display of affection made Neil and the others blush and look away.

"While I can't be of much help regarding these matters, I hope my previous experiences might help you to make a decision. One that you will not regret in the future."
Freyr

"Many thanks, rabbit man. I shall consider your words." Nero replied, giving Freyr a nickname. Probably because he was not sure of the Viera's name yet. "Sorry you had to break an oath that you made. Can't imagine what you went through. Though, I suppose I'll find out soon, maybe. But I'm glad things worked out for you."

Nero chuckled when Ada began patting him on the head, making no move to stop her. "Thanks for that, little one. Hmm, I don't think I've seen her kind before. What monster is she?" He asked.

"Your guess is as good as ours." Sir Reed answered.

"Or I can you there, and I know the way better."
Yang Bethlehem

"No need for that, miss. I don't think I'll be heading there, but I appreciate the offer." The Owl Mage declined. "It is a shame that I have not spent time learning about Mister Ozzy, or his other male monster friends." She looked at Freyr before releasing a sigh of frustration. "Perhaps we will get another chance next time but for now, I am exhausted and will return to my lodging here."

"Farewell for now, Guild. May the gods watch over you all." And with that, Margaret spread her wings and flew back to the town.

"I think if anyone wants to go back to the Guild and check up on Ozzy and Kira, they absolutely should, but since Neil and I had already committed to helping Sister Riñas with the festival, it wouldn't be right for us to leave early, right?"
Sylvia Altissima

Neil was surprised at Sylvia's words, and her wink at him. He smiled at her, both of amusement and appreciation. "...Yeah, I guess she's right. Me and the sisters will be hanging out here until the end of the day."

"Well, that's their choice then. What will be ours?" Talia voiced out.

It appeared that Talia and Sir Reed would go along with the rest of the group's decision. Haley, meanwhile, looked up to Freyr. She would probably go along with whatever he decided.

@LiverisGood

Don't worry about Zasada. I'll take care of that.
@LiverisGood

"From what we gathered over at the tractor with that infected boy, the villager believes Hanuska gave birth to a demon. Her husband was killed, her house was burned down, and her newborn was thrown down the well. And given the state of the burned house, I'd say it happened not too long ago. So, either the village are raving lunatics harming innocents, or they were justified in their horrific actions."
Radiant

Ibon was speechless at the answer. She could not believe that not only that the townspeople might be more hostile than she thought, they could also be justified in their hostility. And that justification could be lurking down in the village well. She sighed and said nothing in response, but it was clear that she regretted asking.

"What a coincidence, the well we are looking for just so happens to be near the mayor's house. This warrants an investigation don't you think? While we are there, we can also look for a certain Mr. Jan for a key. Zasada is there too? I think it would be prudent to meet up with Zasada, we can share information with each other."
Medivac

"Hey, hold on. We came here, specifically, to get away from the main village and the 'Miasma'. We were supposed to just wait for Zasada to finish with the mayor before we head out east." Wu put a damper on Medivac's plans. "Uhh, yeah, about that. While we can't stay anywhere here in Riventor, a local told us that there was an abandoned radio tower east of here. If we can get the comms there running, we can contact Haynek Institute for help."

"Besides, shouldn't we set up a base of operations first before we go out doing favors? We're scattered and disoriented and we need to establish contact with Haynek Institute... or, I suppose, anyone who can help. We should get our bearings first and then we can see what's up with Riventor and this weird forest."

"By the way Wu and Ibun, what were you and the others coming here for? Did you have an objective here? I don't recall the reason if you did give one."
Radiant

"It's just as Wu said, we're here to wait for Zasada. Once she comes back, we'll make way for the radio tower. Supposedly, there's also a bunker under the tower so we can stay there." Ibon replied. "We didn't know that things would be... interesting here." The Liberi Medic seem to have calmed down for the most part, but she was still sad.

"First, a plane crash then an evil forest then an unhospitable village. Just what have we gotten ourselves into?"
Hey guys! Since there's not much posts yet and I'm in a bit of a slump, I'm a postpone the update to next week again and give more time for everyone to post.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

"...zzzz...zzzz... Huh, wha?!"

Nick had fallen asleep, succumbing to exhaustion. He dreamed of nothing, he just wanted to rest. There was still pain in his shoulder but that was not enough to keep him awake. But after a few moments of tired sleep, or perhaps a few hours, Nick felt a presence and his eyes burst open and he jolted up. There was someone with him here. No one dangerous though, his anxiety powers didn't act up.

He turned to look and saw three familiar figures. "What the hell?" He could not believe it. It was his group earlier: Isidore, Augusta and that new guy Donovan. They looked a little bit worse for wear but otherwise fine. They even had that demon dog Octavia with them. "You guys are alright! I can't believe it! I mean, I really shouldn't be surprised since you all have like, magic powers and stuff but still...!"

Spotting the dried blood on Augusta's side, Nick became concerned. "Are you guys really alright? Looks like Augusta got roughed up a bit. I mean, I didn't exactly escape unscathed myself." He showed his bandaged shoulder to the group while also showing them his torn shirt. The wound still hurt a little and there was that black substance on it that was worrying.

"Hey, uhh, sorry for leaving you guys like that." Nick apologized. "But come on, there was a wall of black vines and there was goo everywhere and it was just ugh!" He reluctantly reminisced earlier events back in the prison ruins. "Besides, I doubt I could have helped anyway. Probably would've just gotten in your way with whatever it was you're doing."

"Speaking of that, what the hell happened back there?!" Nick asked. "What's with the giant flower thing and the stone giant? How'd you escape a thing like that?"

Nick heard sounds of battle. Not just any battle, a fight between titans. He could hear vines shooting out and ensnaring, a massive sword being swung in retaliation. The two beings were duking out and while that would be awesome to see, Nick admitted, he would rather see it in a safe, secure location very far away from this place. It was generally a bad idea to hang around an area where two giants were fighting. Or any two people fighting, as a matter of fact.

He made his way toward an archway, the symbolic exit of this place. Nick knew he had to get much farther than that but it was a destination. The shifting of the ground from the battle made him stumble down and past the archway. And he found out that the exit was more literal than metaphorical.

Nick hit the soil, but it was not the soil of the previous location. He listened for the battle between the stone giant and the black plant, but there were no sounds to be heard. Nick realized something was wrong and quickly got up and found himself on top of a cliff surrounded by stone ruins, but not the ruins from earlier. Hold on, how did he get here? Could it be...? There was no other explanation, the archway took him somewhere else. It teleported him to this place.

The young man sighed in exhaustion, both mentally and physically. This world was just full of surprises, wasn't it? Nick surveyed his surroundings further: Behind him was the ocean and the obelisk he probably saw back at the courtyard. Logically, it should be the archway and the pair of titans fighting but this was a new world. On another direction, he saw massive mountains that rose past the clouds. On another, a beach with moving figures too far for Nick to make out. On the last, a forest so large that it stretched beyond Nick's sight.

Nick sighed again, he was definitely on his own now. He hoped the others were safe back in that prison-ruins place, even with those massive beings tearing the place apart. His shoulder stung with pain and he should find someone to take a look at it. But right now, he was tired. His legs burned from all the walking and running and Nick just wanted to plop down and take a nap for a minute or two.

And that's exactly what he did. Nick found a spot of soft ground and laid on it, his body too exhausted to care about comfort. He wasn't feeling anxious at all so that means this place was safe for the moment, right?

Kira's outburst somehow defused the tense situation, like an explosion halting an encroaching wildfire. Everyone listened intently on the Beelzebub's words, even Nero who paid little attention to the pain of his slapped cheek. Rayya slowly lowered her hold on Ditzy as Kira continued and when others spoke their pieces, the Kikimora was silent and had completely released her captive. Her will swayed from continuing any further, even allowing Ada to pat her on the head.

Moments after Kira and Ozzy left, a cadre of the town's guards consisting of mixed races arrived alongside a worried Bart. "What's going on here? Are you guys okay?" The guild leader asked with concern.

"Dude, let me tell you..."

A stressed Neil gave a summary of the events to Bart and the Boreal Port guards. Rayya made no attempts to resist or escape and allowed a pair of guards to apprehend her and take her away. The situation was now resolved and the guild members, and Margaret, convened for a debriefing.

"Woooo, boy! That was a doozy!" Haley whined, leaning her body onto Freyr's. "That was more drama than I expected for a kidnapping. That took a lot out of me even if I didn't do much."

"Indeed, that was exhausting." Talia sighed. "I wish we could spend the rest of the day in the festival to recuperate. Alas, Kira and Ozzy have already gone and I feel it wouldn't be right for us to partake in the festivities without them."

"...Then, should we head back and wait for them at the guild?" Neil asked. He did not seem to be happy at that suggestion, though, since he still had business in Boreal Port.

Before anyone could respond, a familiar figure approached. A contemplative Nero spoke to the group. "Hey everyone. Uhh, I guess I should thank you all for rescuing me from Rayya. If you must know, Rayya was someone I saved from a band of marauders when she had business down south. She had been chasing me ever since." He had a wistful smile as he recalled. "That said, Rayya's hardly the only monster who has fallen for me. She just had been the most proactive since she drank that Doppelganger potion, a drink that splits you into multiple people. It... releases inhibitions so that's probably why she was brave enough to attempt a kidnapping."

"And I think you ought to know too. I said I was a Black Wolf, right? The oaths and everything?" Nero continued. "It's a long story that I'm not gonna get into detail. Just know that I basically grew up with the Black Wolves. Ever since I took that oath, they had been my brothers, my family. Training, fighting, that had been my whole life up to the point where they betrayed me and several others." He paused to collect his thoughts before resuming. "Everything we've built, shattered so easily... Well, hopefully you now understand why it's difficult for me to let this go."

"But... I suppose I should reconsider that like what you all said." Nero finished. "I doubt I should reform the Black Wolves into what they were before. Best they burn alongside Varjo and the Order."
