Hey guys, I'm a postpone the update again to next week since I'm quite busy right now and to give others time to post.

Sorry for the delay, everyone.

"What do you mean, 'we'? Our goals may be similar, and I cannot speak for my companion, but I have no intent of working with someone so flippant as you."
???

"... I am disinclined to work alongside one who assumes they speak for others without asking. Nor do I care much for one who clearly runs their mouth without a single moment of consideration towards their words. Spare some thought before you speak next time, or don't speak at all."
???

Nick watched as the two girls departed, too shocked to reply to the thorough rebuff. "...What just happened?" He asked Kyrnith although he never expected an answer since he very well knew what happened. It was a shame, and Nick thought that maybe he should have been more careful with his words, but what was done was done.

“...Hm. Boy. If you truly wish to antagonize these followers of this god - then the hunters within the village may be where you wish to start. I will return tomorrow, to this grove, and should the wind tell of the village’s cooperation, then I shall grace it with my presence...but for now, I must take my leave. The winds grow restless to the south...”
Kyrnith

"Alright, I'll... see you tomorrow, I guess." Nick bid farewell to the Elder Beast.

The team-up was a bust, but Nick did get valuable information from Kyrnith. The black, diamond stone was still in his hands which he promptly pocketed now that it was no longer needed for now. The Sage in the mountains, Nick remembered Kyrnith's words. He should definitely look up who this Sage guy was and see if he or she could help. Maybe the people back at Dawn knew about the figure, or at least knew about the mountain folk that revered the Sage.

Well, such plans were for the future. Right now, Nick went to find Donovan again to let him know what happened.
~ Fort Daelantine ~

Interacted with: @VitaVitaAR

Jarde and Maritza were permitted to scout the fort, spot anyone or anything that might give a clue or hint as to what took over Fort Daelantine. Alas, they spotted nothing. There wasn't even any guards or lookouts manning the ramparts. The two returned to Captain Fanilly and reported their findings, or rather, the lack thereof. From there, the Iron Roses moved in into the seemingly deserted Thanln fort through the open north gate.

Jarde walked in without his horse and his eyes widened as he beheld the sight. It was a scene of carnage, the aftermath of a battle... or a slaughter. The southern gate was busted open and around the breach were the corpses of the Thaln defenders. Jarde sighed at the amount of death around him. While he did fight the bandit group and there was plenty of death there, sights like these still gave the young Iron Rose knight pause.

Then, a surviving Thaln soldier appeared with a crossbow but was instantly killed by a spear that belonged to a pale-skinned, petite girl with dark-blue hair tied into pigtails. Her leather armor did not indicate her allegiance. A mercenary, perhaps? Jarde brandished his weapons like his fellow knights and Captain Fanilly demanded surrender. The leather-clad girl, however, replied that the corpses weren't Thaln troops despite their uniforms and emblems.

The other Iron Roses began to interrogate the girl. Jarde did not join in, figuring they got that handled. Instead, the young blonde knight silently sauntered to a nearby corpse. He would bring the corpse up, wincing at the viscera and gore, before looking for any signs that this dead soldier was no Thaln defender. Tattoos or ritual scars or marks or anything like that.

“...your words are naive, but perhaps some are not entirely without merit. It is true that this grove is sequestered away from the village...but the reason is simple. It is not a place for most men to tread…perhaps constructing another nearer would be beneficial.”
Kyrnith

"I'd say that making a trail would be easier than constructing another shrine, but since your grove is just a couple of stone slabs sitting atop each other then I suppose making a new one's definitely the easier option." Nick agreed with the Elder Beast's idea. "We should probably include, like, a board with a list of directions on how to meet you and all."

"...you should start sooner, rather than later. The Sage is known to only appear to those who they deem worthy to guide, whatever such a thing means. Many have gone their entire lives searching, without seeing."
Kyrnith

"...That's reassuring." Nick sarcastically replied. "I'll try to go as soon as I can, but I'm going to stick around and help take down this God Of Knowledge guy as well as build your shrine for the village of Dawn. I mean, fair's fair, right?"

Nick then looked toward Nobunaga and Misaki. "So bottom line, we starve out the God Of Knowledge by essentially replacing him with Kyrnith, right?" He then sighed. "I doubt the Knowledge God's followers will just roll over and let us do this, though, so we'll have to watch out. Say, since we'll be working together, mind blessing me with your names? I heard that people work together better if they know each others' names."
For The Cause

The two Guild members have decided, Yang would be part of the ambushing force while Kira with the distracting force. "It is doubtful that they will have a Hero, Miss Kira. It is merely a supply mission, after all."

-

A plan was hatched. One that deviated from the original. Kira would be sole member of the distracting force, with the reason that a single monster in the middle of the road will garner a lot of suspicion but probably, and hopefully, little aggression. After all, no one would expect a monster in the dark lands of Varjo and that was bound to cause confusion.

Yang and Kira were taken to the ambush spot, the main force hiding atop the cliffs while the Beelzebub would stand in the middle of the road. The convoy came soon after, an entire caravan of wagons and soldiers flying the banners of the Order. Amongst the troops were an entire unit of men-at-arms and several knights on horseback.

At the forefront was a knight more adorned in regalia, the leader of this group. Upon approaching you, he raised a hand to stop the convoy. The knight removed his helmet, revealing that he... was a she. A beautiful woman with long, red hair, fair skin and green eyes. She disembarked her horse and approached Kira without fear. "Hail, Beelzebub. You tread in lands dangerous to your kind, even more dangerous than in Order realms. Are you lost perchance? There is no need to fight here, we can point you to much safer areas."

The ambushing rebels awaited Yang's or Kira's signal, caring little for the Beelzebub's conversation with the knight.

"He will probably be unarmed when he enters the river and will be distracted too. We just need to take the weapon and then capturing him will be much easier and safer."
Freyr

"...I don't think so, Freyr." Haley pointed with a wing. Without removing anything, Samuel dropped into the river and began trying to ford it. "But I heard that guns don't do well if wet. If it's soaked then it's harmless now."

Haley unfurled her wings. "It should be safe to take him on now. I'll go fish him out of the river and drop him near you while you knock him. Sounds like a plan?" The Siren took to the air and flew at the Samuel who was waist-deep in the waters of the river. Haley's talons gripped the mad man's shoulders and in surprise, the latter started struggling.

However, Samuel then slipped and he began being swept away by the current. "What?!" Haley saw what had happened and released her grasp but Samuel, in his struggle, grabbed hold of her talons and dragged her to the waters, also to be swept away by the river. "Freyr!" You see Haley frantically flap her wings to rise from the water. "Help! Freyr!"

The currents were getting faster as Haley and Samuel flowed down the river. There was not much rocks or debris in the river for either of them to hold onto. You will have to be creative to rescue them, or maybe at least just Haley.

"Alright, mouse, listen up. This is a guild of strong fighters, and if I wanted to, I could ask my friends to hunt down you and your friends. Fortunately for you, this guild consists of humans and monsters who want to coexist and live peacefully. If it was all humans, they might use...POISON! If it was all monsters, they might eat you up without a second thought, or enslave you...or worse. So while we could hurt you, we don't want to."
Sylvia Altissima

Shaking the Giant Mouse stopped her from further nibbling on the vine, dizzy from the sudden jerking movements. "Eeeeeek! Please don't eat me or poison me! I'll talk! I'll talk!" Intimidated by the Liliraune's vivid threats, the Giant Mouse immediately panicked and gave in.

"But instead of sneaking around and stealing food without our permission, maybe we could come to some sort of arrangement? You'll come to see that trade is a lot less risky than what you normally do. Do your...umm...clans have a leader, someone that maybe could negotiate with our guild leader?"
Sylvia Altissima

"Ummm, we're not exactly an organized group, you know? We just came together very recently looking for food and men and became friends. I don't even know half the girls in the group." The Giant Mouse said. "A-Although, I suppose I can call everyone out so we can talk. But you have to promise! You have to promise not to attack us, okay?"

"I can also just track them down for you to catch. But I can only find them, it's up to you to catch them and trap them." The Giant Mouse suggested an alternative. "It'll be payback for leaving me alone here. But err, can you say that I had nothing to do with it?"
Hey guys, I'm really having trouble writing right now so I will have to postpone the update to the end of the week. Maybe Friday.

Sorry for the delays.

~ Kyrnith's Grove ~

“An ancient stone, from the same place you woke I assume...yet not a stone native to that area. It perhaps once belonged to the sage those of the Mountain revere, but as for what it is - I can not say. It is old. Perhaps older than the Moonless Era. As for a passage back...those within the mountain speak of the Sage being able to peer into worlds other than this. Perhaps you should start there.”
Kyrnith

Nick had to do a double take at the Elder Beast's answer. "W-Wow. That's... That's awesome!" He replied. "You know, I thought you'd be a bit difficult about this but... this is more than I expected. Thanks!" Nick was ecstatic at the information. "No seriously, thanks. I really appreciate it." If Nick's memory served, Isidore and Augusta went to such a mountain. The two probably have met them. Well, looks like Nick's going climbing after this.

“...I suppose you have a thought as to how we could go about this, then? While those in the village may not all fear - they all are wary, and those within the village seeking to work against me would surely sabotage such efforts to prove otherwise. Perhaps you should merely find those and end them as they would end the forests.”
Kyrnith

"I understand that you'd rather not do this, but the girls are right. If you can be a source of guidance for the people of Dawn rather than the loony god, then people would prefer going to you and the loony god's influence would reduce, making him easier to deal with." Nick explained. "We'd need to work on your presentation, though. I'd say we can start on putting a path or trail from the village to your grove. You know, make it look welcoming to those who wanna see you."

"But you're right about the Knowledge God's followers though, we'll have to knock 'em out before we try anything. It's probably a bad idea to ask the people in the village who's in it or not so is there a way to tell them? You know, like, tattoos or rings or necklaces that show their allegiance?"

"Knighty! Think I can win against large green girl?"
Ditzy Bethlehem

"Ditzy, I think she can beat you even if there were ten of you." Reed was all too happy to shoot down the Hobgoblin's hopes. "And it's Reed, Ditz. I'm not a knight, so calling me that will give people the wrong impression. But I might become one, though, if I get back to Ortus."

-

"To tell the truth, we were wondering if you were accepting new members into your band. As you can see, I'm a dragon, so I'd think I'd be a great addition! And my friend her may be small, but rest assured she can more than make up for it! So, what say you? Are they any empty slots you're looking to fill?"
Nagare

"Hmm, and what about those two over there?" The Ogre pointed with her head at Ditzy and Sir Reed, the latter giving an awkward wave. "Are they shy or something? Although, I don't mind having a shy knight with us." She chuckled lightly at the last line.

"Regardless, we don't just let anyone join our crew. You gotta know how to throw down. I mean, really throw down." It appeared that fighting well was the requirement for joining. "Hell, we got this poet guy who wanted to tag along with us for the giggles. We bagged him up instead and hopefully, he'll fetch us a good price to a Leanan Sidhe or someone."

"So I'll ask ice dragon, can you and your buddies throw down?" The Ogre cracked her fists. "And how will you go proving that?"

"We could maybe try to set an ambush? At least to take that dangerous thing away from him and take him to the authorities... Drag him if necessary... We will have to be careful with him as long as he is still armed though."
Freyr

"You're right. We should stop that guy before anyone else gets hurt." Haley declared.

You and Haley followed Samuel into Tulisan Forest. It wasn't difficult tracking him down, his loud babbling giving his position away, nor was it difficult trailing him, his madness preventing him from noticing the couple. "Make it to Boreal Port... yeah, yeah. Don't care whatever that... monkey says..." Samuel took a brief moment to stuff some mud onto his mouth as he trudged forward.

Haley winced at the sight. Not wanting to continue this any further, she became impatient. "Freyr, got any idea on how to jump him? I mean, I can just tackle him from the air while you move to get the gun away. How about that?"

Samuel soon reached a river, and seemed ready to take a dip.

"Or, I suppose you could look for anything in the room while I ask around. Stumbling about in some musty old room isn't my scene."
Vară Riemsianne

"Alright, I'll go take a look around and see if I can find anything." Neil agreed to the plan.

You went outside of the building and found three people lined on a bench by the side surrounded by guards. The first one was a fair-skinned middle-aged man, well-built and showing off his biceps with his sleeveless top. He had a stoic, serious face with a manly beard although he had no hair upon his cranium.

The second one was a beautiful woman whose fair skin seemed to shine under the sunlight. But her clothes were dark, and quite skimpy with her short shorts, a top that revealed her midriff and a feathered musketeer hat. You could sense demonic energy from her so she was probably a Dhampir.

The last witness was an aging man with receding gray hair that also formed into a small beard on his face. He wore simple farmer clothes and other than that, he had no more discernible features.

Which one will you talk first, or will you talk to all of them at once.

"HEY! What's this? A couple of mischievous vermin?"
Vivian Altissima

The monster intruders were surprised and the Altissima sisters saw that there might be a dozen of these Devil Bugs and Giant Mice. After a brief moment of shock, they all began to flee in panic. "Eeeeek!" They toppled kitchenware and food containers. It'll be a while to clean up the mess they made, but the Liliraune had to get rid of the pests first.

Fortunately for the sisters, their vine managed to snatch the leg of one of the Large Mice. "Ahhh! Let me go!" She begged pathetically as she flailed around in a futile attempt to break free. "Help me out here, guys!" Alas, her pleas fell on deaf ears as the rest of her group have already fled into the hidden corners of the Guild headquarters.

"Ah! I know, I've got sharp teeth!" The Large Mouse pulled herself up in order to begin chewing on the vine holding her up.

Nick dutifully followed the directions, taking him up a sloping trail until he reached a hill. The undergrowth of the forest soon turned into snow as he ascended and Nick soon arrived at his destination: A small grove with some sort of shrine sitting near a cluster of trees. The shrine seemed nothing special, just two slabs of rock with one standing straight atop the other. A clay bowl was there too with something burning in it. So that was where that faint smell of smoke came from.

There, he did indeed find the two girls that he saw earlier. There was another figure with them, an epically large deer with antlers so tall it reached the tree branches. That was probably Kyrnith. Nick wasn't gonna lie, the deity looked pretty damn awesome despite the simplicity of its appearance. There were also a lot of deer around them. Nothing really surprising about that.

The three seem to be talking and Nick got a rundown of what was happening to the Dawn village. It filled in the holes Nick still had about the story. Quite the trouble Dawn found itself in.

“...it seems we have another visitor. Speak the reason you have come here, or leave.”
Kyrnith

Nick gulped. Well, here goes nothing. "H-Hey there, Lord Kyrnith. Umm, my name's Nick and I'm a friend of Donovan's." He first introduced himself. "You know, the tall guy with the accent who agreed to help you? I, uhh, tagged along with his quest so I could have a chance to see you, but I guess that was sooner rather than later."

"A-Anyway, I was actually here looking for these two." Nick pointed to Nobunaga and Misaki. "We heard that they were going to help Dawn too so I came wondering if they're interested in a little team-up. The more the merrier, right? Four heads better than one, right?" He then turned to the aforementioned girls. "Hehe, right?"

"But now that we're here though, might as well ask this." Nick continued before anyone could speak. "I'll bet my sister that you already know that we're not from this world. We're brought here by someone named 'The Goddess' and I was wondering if you, like, know a way back?" He asked his most important question. He doubted that it was going to be easy. "I'll settle for clues or hints, by the way."

"Oh, uhh, since you're a deity and all..." Nick fished the strange, black diamond thing he found back in the courtyard where they first arrived. "Got any idea what this is?"
@LiverisGood

Blizzard listened closely to Radiant's and Medivac's reports. She let out a long sigh at the end, the team leader knew she had a lot of stuff to resolve. Although, she was glad she had a working team at hand and not everybody was lost to the storm that greeted them when they first arrived. "You all have done well under these circumstances. I'm glad your training in the Institute is paying off. Even if... none of what's happening is covered in the courses."

"There were two more of us but we lost them to the forest..."
Radiant

"I heard the Soothsayer talking about how the forest was dangerous." Blizzard replied. "How is it exactly dangerous?"

"According to a contact we have in Riventor, there's a force in the forest that can induce vivid hallucinations to make people go mad and also make them disappear." Wu explained. "Well actually, he said that the forest itself is the one doing it. Either way, the strange happenings around here seem linked to Originium, called 'Cursed Rock' around these parts. Like Radiant said, we've lost Operators to it."

"We've lost Rex and we thought we lost you to it too since he was the one carrying you while you were unconscious. It was miraculous that we found you in this radio bunker. We have no idea how you got here." Ibon said. "We've also lost an Operator named Will-O-Wisp. They simply walked into the forest and were never seen again. Zasada, meanwhile, is still back in Riventor. Hopefully, the Archosaur's taking care of her."

Another long sigh came from Blizzard. "...This forest is something else, isn't it? And no, I don't know how I got here either. Hopefully, the 'how' doesn't become important later." She pinched her temples. "Anyway, you all did good going here before attempting any other action. Let's make this our base of operations and get the radio tower working. We'll try to contact any Haynek Operators still out there but most importantly, re-establish communications with Haynek Institute. Maybe request evac too since the situation is beyond FUBAR where I'm standing."

"We should split up: One group taking a look at the radioes themselves and the other looking for supplies or anything we can use in this facility. Any volunteers?"
