Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Alette narrowed her eyes at the accusatory words from the serpent.

"If I believed myself to be working for your enemy, would we really be having this conversation?" she asked, crimson eyes almost seeming to shine for a moment, "I'm a mercenary, y'know? I don't give out my clients' names, especially when people are trying to piss me off."

Her spear left her shoulder, glistening almost as if it still had blood on it when the tip bit back into the soil again.

"Captain," came the deep, rumbling voice of Bors, "I understand why you trust that our employer meant us no harm, but surely you think it strange they desired this shard, do you not?"

"... Tch," Alette looked away. It was quite possible at this point that stubbornness was in large part why the blue-haired mercenary refused to give more information.

"Ah? Sir Gillian..." Fanilly trailed off, surprised when the knight suddenly began dispensing orders. They didn't sound bad at all, though. Splitting up and working together to attempt to locate the shard and secure it only made sense. In fact, she had planned to order it... her... self...

She had even caught herself in the middle of nodding.

The petite blonde cleared her throat.

"Sir Gillian, your advice is appreciated," she began, "However, I am captain of this order. While I will take your words into account, it is my position to dispense the orders. I shall take your advice on dividing our numbers, but remember that it is my decision."

She had to maintain her authority as captain. Even if Gillian was simply acting in interest of facilitating their swift recovering of a dangerous artifact, it was her duty to lead the Iron Rose Knights.

She had to make sure she did so.

Meanwhile, Tyaethe would witness a single cloud passing over the sun, briefly casting the fort entirely in darkness.

At Gerard's praise, Abigail looked back at him, tilting her head backwards in a rather unusual fashion and giving him what would have been a sweet smile if not for the circumstances, before joining in investigating the captain's quarters. Naturally, the first thing she gravitated towards was the deceased captain himself.

"... So inelegant... a ragged cut like that," she commented, looking over the wound to the man's throat, "He must have spent his last moments gurgling on his own blood. He probably would have anyways, but killing like this is so lacking in grace."

She let out a heavy sigh, as if more disappointed over the wound that had killed the man then the death itself.

The room appeared mostly untouched, but on closer inspection the unmarked desk had a drawer that was ajar.

Within, there was rather conspicuously nothing.

Further inspection would reveal nothing else within the captain's quarters, but just outside was a heavy cloth binding soaked in blood, next to a dead man who appeared to have been stabbed in the neck and chest with a small, very sharp object.

Needless to say, the crushing blows and the ensuing fireball were enough. The skeletons that had been struck fell to pieces, only be be consumed in flames. Their bones singed and blew apart, whatever flesh remained on them burning away leaving a particularly unpleasant odor behind.

All that remained was smoldering shards of bone, plus one disembodied skull rolling helplessly about, still animated by whatever foul magic had raised them in the first place, its jaw opening and shutting with a clicking sound.

Given it had no ability to harm anyone unless they were incredibly stupid, it was unlikely to pose a threat.

Within the chamber was pitch black, making it clear that the excavators had left rather quickly. Likely after encountering the skeletons themselves.

However, Neffy would be able to discern great stone pillars and a long hall with what remained of long wooden benches, and a faded and rotten red and gold carpet.

There did not appear to be any further obstacles in the chamber.

@TheFake: Fixed now, accepted.
@TheFake: Appearance isn't working.

@KenjuGuy: Are you still working?

@Dark Cloud: Same here.
With the sound of bending steel and tearing metal, the drone's cannon was torn loose from its body. Now the machine was left helpless, letting out whirring noises as various mechanisms inside of the device worked but were unable to achieve anything of note. If one did not know any better, they would likely have described the machine as looking almost crestfallen at its predicament.

But it was unlikely it possessed the programming to experience such emotions.

With that, each of the drones had either been disabled or destroyed. The way ahead towards the facility was clear, or at least seemed as such for the moment.

Approaching the facility, however, would tell a somewhat different story. There did not appear to be any other enemies on the immediate path to the lab, but rather there were the remains of at least six more scout drones.

They lay, smoking, blown apart into pieces. Some were still quite hot, meaning whatever had done this couldn't have done it very long ago. There were a few scorch marks on the ground, as well, though they were less notable then the sizzling remains of the drones.

Still, there appeared to be little else in the way of progress... for now.

Interest if I can think of anything.
@KenjuGuy: Honestly, I think his abilities are a little took weak and disparate. Rather then cloud control, it's probably better to pick something like hydrokinesis.
